Bellarke headcanon written for 'What's that Bellarke AU Wednesday' on Twitter, organized by @ bellarkehub (inspired, from the pics above)
After all these years of secretly dating his sister's best friend and everything they've been through in their lives-Clarke losing her dad, O and him burying Aurora, him joining the Army and coming back home in pieces, there's one thing that never ever failed to make Bellamy laugh and that was his sister and Clarke dancing and jumping around to any Taylor Swift song;
When he watches them now, all those years later, sitting in his wheelchair with one leg cut off and his hearing a bit off (his left side had basically lost about sixty percent of it and on bad days he couldn't hear Clarke calling out to him) his heart squirms in his chest and he remembers how they used to jump around and dance in O's room as teenagers, how they yelled loudly and annoyed him on the way to or from school, how they woke him up in the middle of the night as a prank screaming "Reputation" in his ear as he pretended he hated it (in truth, he didn't).
Clarke, who somehow fell in love with him all over again when he came back home broken and in pieces, with a prosthetic on his leg and a half functioning body, called him out on it when she came into his shack and found him listening to Evermore on repeat while sawdusting beams or working on making them new kitchen chairs and fix the old dining table;
Carpentry was theraupeutic and helped his hands and heart return back to normal, the music spoke to him and calmed him down.
He wasn't ashamed when she caught him, he didn't want to hide, he enjoyed Taylor Swift and he was too tired of the world judging him.
So when Clarke came over and wrapped her arms around his still strong and bulky body from behind, rubbing her hand over his chest and whispering in his ear that there was a raffle at the vet center where you could win tickets for the Eras tour, he laughed-he had never won anything in life it wasn't going to start happening now but Clarke still entered them when they went there for his monthly check up and medication update and he honestly forgot about it.
He has lost any sort of believe that his luck was going to turn upside down at the age of seven, if not before that.
That was until a month later, on a particularly bad day when his legs really hurt and he couldn't get out of bed, she burst in the bedroom screaming they won the raffle, waving three tickets in her hand screaming so loudly, he thought she was hurt at first. She had been making sure he was fine in the past few days since he couldn't get out of bed and today he had finally convinced her to go out. She got a call while she was grabbing ice cream with his sister.
He laughed and refused to believe it until it actually happened. They were up close to the stage in the few vet reserved rows and he had the time of his life, he even got a bunch of those beadsy bracelets and screamed from the top of his lungs with Clarke and his sister.
He was drunk on happiness after, that was before he got actually drunk and they kept replaying the songs on the way back in the truck. He leaned over the window and sang along, feeling wild and free like he's never been.
It was the happiest he's been in years and he didn't care that a month later his friends still replayed ridiculous videos of him singing Taylor Swift on the way home.
He smiled with them and rest his chin above Clarke's head as his hand fell to her stomach where only he and her knew there'd soon be a baby bump there for them to talk to and watch grow.
They were happy and together, Taylor Swift was blasting from the laptop Miller brought over for the party tonight, he still had his silly bracelets on and he didn't care who said what about it-life was good and he was going to keep listening to Evermore in his shack, though now, he'd be moving onto his next project-building a crib.

send me a character and I'll list:
favourite thing about them: Clarke's tenacity! Her first scene? She fights off two armed guards and LOCKS THEM IN HER CELL BEHIND HER. Then how she handles herself at the dropship ("You think we care who's in charge!?"). Her commitment to getting her people out of MW (despite every other leader before her failing to do so). Praimfaya. AFTER Praimfaya... When Clarke sets her mind on something, she's a force! 💥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
least favourite thing about them: I hated seeing how much crap she put up with in S6 (and even some of the earlier seasons!) I wish she'd value herself enough to apply that tenacity to her own well-being 😅
Tumblr media
favourite line: my answer always changes, but today it's this one from 512. It was refreshing to see Clarke own that 'Wanheda' part of herself after so many years. Loved that energy for her ⤵️
"What if I never see you again? No, not possible. How can you be sure? It's simple. You may be the Commander, but I'm the Commander of Death..."
Tumblr media
brOTP: MURPHY! Their dynamic is sm fun!!
Tumblr media
OTP: Bellarke. For sure 100% I'm always rooting for those two wonderful fools.
Tumblr media
nOTP: I still think the Clarke x Gaia vibes felt really... off? I wasn't a fan. And Cillian definitely wasn't my fave either, but I guess he's actually not meant to be 😅
Tumblr media
random headcanon: Eventually, earthkru has settled peacefully and trained a team of medics: so Clarke decides, after some convincing, to take up life as an artist.
(Though sometimes, when she can't sleep, Bellamy and Madi still find her helping patients in the med tent...)
Tumblr media
unpopular opinion: she wasn't completely wrong with all her S5 decisions. Some of them, like shock-collaring her daughter? YES! But feeling obligated to get a 12 year old girl tf away from Wonkru and Blodrenia? Maybe not a bad call 🤷‍♀️ Her method was lousy, but her intentions not completely un-understandable.
...and her red hair was COOL! 🤣
Tumblr media
song i associate with them: I'm gonna be predictable again bc ofc it's this one!
favourite picture of them: so many to choose from, but here's an adorable gif! ✨

Some rambly thinking-out-loud Muse fan angst...
I realize that everyone has their own tastes and subjective opinions, but there's just something heartbreaking about fans on social media and the music establishment at large collectively giving up on Muse. Even posters on this very website have all but consigned Muse to the "cringier than Nickelback" dustbin.
And you know what? It's fucked up, and I'm probably going to regret this post but I want to get angry.
Like... I get the criticisms, I really do. I get all the charges that the music hasn't been as rich and nuanced as it had been when the band was in their twenties. I get the decline in the poetic lyrics, the overbearing synth fetish, the warmed-over socio-political hyperfixation, the perceived lack of substance. I'm not a blind fangirl; in fact, I'm probably more hyper-aware and sensitive to the breadth of the criticisms than anyone.
And you know what? All this does is make me even more fond of the band, warts and all.
A bit of a meandering personal anecdote, but I used to be pretty active in professional wrestling fandom. I also did a lot of reading on hyperreality and the culture industry for school. And what I came away with is wrestling is an entire industry that dehumanizes its performers, treats them as little more than perfect, muscled action figures to parade on social media and reduce to snappy youtube highlights, reducing decades of physical training and industry experience to a "THAT'S A SLOBBERKNOCKER!" meme.
And you know what? Even after I drifted from wrestling fandom, I could never unsee that systematic dehumanization again. I see it in movies, in cartoons, in books, and yes, in music.
Call me a cantankerous old millennial, but the way music gets marketed nowadays just doesn't sit right with me. Even with something claiming to be DIY and organic like tiktok rappers or indie artists, there's this aggressive eye towards marketing and hustle, towards gaming the algorithm and Spotify playlists. Even the attempts to be "real" and "relatable" feel artificial and manufactured.
And that's one of the reasons Muse means so much to me: for all their stadium rock cringe and synthetic polish, somehow it still feels more flawed, more earnest, more real than whatever's on tiktok right now. They're not even trying to be aesthetic or relatable, because Matt Bellamy is a Tom Morello-fanboying space alien just trying to make sense of an increasingly fractured political landscape the only way he knows how.
If you've been a fan of any kind of long-running rock band, you know there's ALWAYS that phase where things just felt wrong, where nothing is hitting like it used to and the albums aren't as tight anymore. But bands learned to soldier on through bad albums, because rock as a genre left room for fucking up and fucking around in a way that the throwaway competitive nature of more mainstream pop doesn't. Unless a pop star had a massive obsessive Taylor Swift-sized following, one bad album was a death sentence.
Sure, this created something of a systemic rot in the genre where rock in general felt static compared to the freshness and dynamism of younger musical acts. But the entire discourse around dinosaurs and "legacy acts" just felt to me like wrestlers being treated as action figures all over again. It's younger audiences signaling to bands "you're not allowed to make music anymore, because you're old and irrelevant and embarrassing."
Fuck. That. Shit.
Let artists be artists. Let pop stars be pop stars and let dad bands be dad bands. If this mentality had persisted then, we never would've gotten David Bowie or Leonard Cohen or Johnny Cash. And even they made their fair amount of shit music before they finally got their flowers.
And sure, even by dad band standards Muse is still pretty fucking weird and embarrassing. But this is what letting artists age gracefully really means: allowing weirdos to keep flying their freak flag even if that freak flag isn't "cool" like Radiohead or Rammstein or My Chemical Romance or Måneskin or any of these other bands "better" than Muse.
Yeah, I know I'm not making much sense right now. Rant over.

COMM515 Assignment 2: Blog
Tumblr media
BLOG #1
Whether you’re a fan of Taylor Swift’s music or not, the impact and influence she’s made is undeniable. On a surface level, the music industry has evidently benefited from this but what I believe is overlooked is the power her activism has on citizenship engagement and political engagement . This Instagram story posted on the official Taylor Swift account raises some interesting ideas, specifically around the relationship between the use of social media and citizenship participation.
Tumblr media
Before dissecting this seemingly simple social media text, let me introduce you to Taylor (just in case you haven’t had the privilege of knowing her already).  Taylor Swift is a multi-Grammy award winner, singer-songwriter, and pop-culture figure, with nearly 300M followers on Instagram. At the time of the story post, her most recent work is the album release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). On top of her success, Taylor is also a feminist and activist- could she be more perfect?
The most interesting aspect about the Instagram story is how it exemplifies the change in the forms of citizen participation and political engagement. Political engagement can be defined by Johnston & Uberoi (2022, p.8) as one’s behaviour and attitude towards the political system. Citizen participation is attributed to the actions made by “members of a political community where all citizens can determine the terms of social cooperation on an equal basis” (Bellamy, 2013, p.17). Traditionally, political engagement is considered apart of the private sphere -“realm of the intimate”- (Dictionary of Media & Communication). Many still view this, which is why some of us get told to “not bring politics into the dinner table” when visiting extended family. Citizen participation on the other hand is traditionally apart of the public sphere –space for “open discussion of common concerns and collective social interests”- (Dictionary of Media & Communication), mainly associated with public acts such as voting. Distinction between the public and private sphere has become increasingly challenging with the rise of social media. For example, the question Taylor posed in her story “Are you registered to vote?” can be viewed as political engagement, therefore exists in her private sphere. Yet, hundreds of millions of her followers are directly involved, which would be highly unlikely to achieve without using her social media platform.
The change in how political engagement is achieved and perceived more easily is positive in terms of the reciprocal relationship with citizen participation. Taylor’s political engagement through public advocacy for voting registration increases her fan bases’ citizen participation. This is because they are influenced by the person displaying their political engagement (Taylor) to participate in acting upon their rights and freedoms as a citizen. Vote.org (2023) had front row seats to the spike in Taylor’s fan’s citizen participation as they reported “a 1,226% jump in the hour after the post.” If I told someone from even a decade ago that political engagement and citizen participation was this heavily impacted by the singer who wrote “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, they’d have trouble believing me. And that wouldn’t even include the fact that the milestone stemmed from an Instagram story.
The historical change and increase in both political engagement and citizen participation through the use of Taylor’s social media platform is significant because it alleviates the declining political interest and involvement. The political disengagement from young people has been made a focus to fix. A study on youth aged 15-35 reported that “media coverage of political issues is boring to follow, let alone participate in” (Zhang, 2022). This emphasises the differences of engagement and participation based on age, culture and education. For example, the lack of political engagement within youth is difficult to change through mainstream media such as the news, because it is barely consumed by them. It is more effective to infiltrate highly consumed media such as social media, however new difficulties arise. Within the social media world, the change in participation is dependent on the influencers, celebrities and content creators’ choice to advocate which is challenging to do without bias to their own political stands. What makes Taylor’s story so impactful is the lack of bias. Instead of using her influence to sway her fans to hold the same political view, she encourages people to act, participate and engage, based on their own. Whilst acknowledging there are those who misuse of their platform to further their own political agenda, it can be argued that social media has helped minimalize the decline in political involvement of young people. Taylor’s social media text shows that when utilized correctly, it can increase political interest, engagement and citizen participation that benefits the system as a whole.
Tumblr media
As an individual who is a first-time voter and a major Taylor fan who viewed this social media text live, I have a greater understanding of the importance of my own political engagement and participation. I realised I was unknowingly motivated to vote because I knew Taylor encouraged it and even though I was not apart of her political system, it still impacted my citizenship participation in New Zealand. I’m not going to lie, I had no previous education of politics previous to September, however understanding the concept of citizen participation through Taylor’s story helped me identify the abundance of it within my age group. Instead of viewing voting as the only form of participation, I now know that witnessing others in marches, and signing online petitions were apart of their participation. An experience I can interpret differently is when I changed the news channel when they showed Christopher Luxon asking the audience if they’ve registered to vote, which made my older family members extremely upset. At the time, I justified my decision because I wanted to watch something more interesting however looking back, I know that was a sign I was politically disengaged due to the media form I was consuming it through. It makes sense that I only registered to vote after my Instagram and Tik Tok was flooded with others advocating for it because I actively interacted with the platform that facilitated political engagement. Knowing I had unknowingly engaged and participated changed my perspective about how much my vote mattered. Upon reflection, the act of voting carries a heavier weight in which I’m grateful to have gained a changed understanding of before voting for the first time.

BLOG #2
If you’re anything like me, you also dislike being involved with anything to do with “the public” -public ceremonies, hospitals, and most of all, toilets. In terms of the public in mediated politics, that dislike transforms into mistrust. Specifically, the mistrust in the representation of the public opinion on political issues and events. This Newshub-Reid research poll is flawed because it inaccurately represents the population group of Kiwis alongside their opinion on a momentous government decision.
The public is defined by Craig (2004, p. 47) as “both a body of people within society and a domain within which debate about that society occurs.” When discussing this social media text, Craig’s definition of the public will be applied alongside the notion that the public is the opposing group of people to those that hold political power. In defining public opinion, Herbst (1991, p. 226) can be “understood as the aggregation of individual opinions” and will be referred to being expressed through the research poll about the introduction of wealth tax.
The problem doesn’t lie exclusively in this research poll as I think all political polls that infer they represent the public opinion can all be flawed and inaccurate. This is simply due to the impossible nature of retrieving and presenting every single member of the public’s voice. However, this research poll does exemplify the issue of misrepresentation in polls, despite the scientific methodology of Reid Research. It can be argued that the timing of the results (May, 2023) suggests the research question is at a less of an interest to tax reform and more of a indication of which political party the public supports. This is based on the collaboration between Reid Research and Newshub and the anticipation of the release of major political party tax policies. In that case, the poll does not represent the public opinion on wealth tax but on the party the participants side with and benefits the politicians more than it benefits the public.
youtube
Another problematic feature of this research poll is the possible manipulation of public opinion from those whose opinion was excluded in the poll. Considering Newshub is one of the top news program and digital service, their content is continuously consumed by many members of the public who may have not been directly involved in the polling. When consuming the information shown in this poll, it is possible for many to have been swayed to agree with the majority, despite their own opinion. The flaw lies in the wording of the information presented which form a bias towards the tax reform. More specifically, the generalisation used in “Kiwis support the government introducing wealth tax” is contradictory to the poll results as only 53.1% expressed their possible support. The other 47% is disregarded as the reader may interpret the use of “Kiwis” as the whole population. This could lead to the manipulation of their opinion because some may feel obligated to align with the majority as a result of the poll release. Additionally, there is no available resources and information provided in the news article for the public to form an educated opinion on the matter. This further accentuates the dependency they have on the biased polling, which therefore can lead to their biased view and not a true reflection of their public opinion.
Tumblr media
The flaws in representing the public opinion within this social media text affirmed my previous views on the unreliability of polling. I may very well be biased in this argument myself, and I can blame taking Statistics in high school. But, I have conditioned myself to question the accuracy, reliability and authenticity of public opinion polling because I believe there is always going to be at least one person who is misrepresented because opinions vary so heavily. As someone who has never been included in a sample group for any type of polling, it is easy to believe polling is biased and inaccurate. However, if that were not the case, I think my perspective could slightly change. The notion of people hopping on the opinion bandwagon based on what they perceive is held by “the majority” reflects many experiences in which I did the same. It was not to do with political polling, however the concept is far too familiar in which emphasises the problem when paired with a biased polling release. The aforementioned concepts within this research poll has made me even more aware of how the public in mediated politics are not always properly represented and led to a greater understanding on why polls may manipulate a person’s opinion.

The Types as Musicians
i was initially doing research to make “unstereotypic own words playlists” for the other 8 types after i made the 5 one, but i soon realized that i wouldnt have enough material for many of them.
Personality Database proved utterly useless in this endeavor because they type everyone & their dog as infj 4.
It’s like they’re too preoccupied with empty praise to really try to understand what makes their favs the way they are.
Still, this is what i noticed trying to look up musicians of different types.
1:
drawing a blank, maybe they’re all in classical or some other genre I don’t listen to.
2:
I can only think of Dolly Parton
3:
Their songs come in roughly two genres: “self-referential badassitude hymn” and “unironic passionate lovesong” ( can also be directed at friends or Family). The latter are the really good ones IMHO.
Examples:
Britney Spears
Taylor Swift
christina aquilera
madonna
bebe rexha
4:
I think most of you can picture this one. theyre very concentrated in the arts.  Back in my day it was rockbands, nowadays a lot of them are in indie.
Of course saying this is tantamout to summoning att the ones from the woodworks who like some completely different genres and do not want to be associated with the above
[ducks]
Examples:
 Amy Lee of Evanescence
Emilie Autumn
Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless
Toopoor
marylin manson
the frontman from mindless self indulgence.
the mcr frontman
lana del rey
Jonathan Davis from Korn
5:
Avantgardistic and high-concept stuff. Grunge, Metal, and a sizeable fraction of  european bands that dont sing in English
Also, nearly all those “one guy and his laptop” acts
Examples:
Kurt Cobain of Nirvana
Trenz Reznor of NiN
Honey Malecki of Welle Erdball
Matt Bellamy of Muse
Thom Yorke
Whoever was in charge of lyrics for the earlier albums of In Flames. i bet you my glasses.
Blixa Bargeld of Einstürzende Neubauten
Sophie Xeon
6:
supposedly theres quite a lot of them in hiphop/rap as well but im not an expert in that. probably punk & alt rock, too. You’ll recognize that those two genres often have alot of quick rapid fire lyrics.
The ones I was personally familiar with were mostly singer-songwriter types
Examples:
Mitski
Meg Myers
La Roux
if you asked me to find the common denominator of these, i would say “a lot of feelings”.
7:
Also come in two grenres: “Terribly Sad Wailing Breakup Song” and “associative Thinking galore creativity explosion”, surprising propensity of ‘layered’ writing where a song will sometimes be about several things at once
Sometimes the same artist will go back and forth between Wailing Breakup and Creativity Explosion, or even pull off both at once.
Lady Gaga
Tori Amos
Lindsay Stirling (the violinist)
amy winehouse
rihanna
Fiona Apple
Cardi B
8:
There were not many examples but i did find a few:
Garbage’s Shirley Manson
P!nk
Peaches
What would I say the common denominator is? It’s dangerous to extrapolate from so few data points, but I’d say a love of scandalous costumes, and the more emotional songs having an undercurrent of tiredness.
9:
Many widely beloved, ‘iconic’ artists with devoted worshippers. A lot of colorful dreamy/whimsical clothes & aesthetic.
Otherwise run a pretty wide gamut.  I see a lot more common through-lines with 9 writers. (though many of them are also super beloved household names)
Examples:
Shakira
Hayley kiyoko
Lil nas x
Beyonce
Ashnikko
Björk
Enya
Note that contrary to popular belief not all of these even have a vibe that could be described as particularly chill. if anything the through line seems to be flexibility & quirkyness.
its striking that i was familiar with so many of their names & the few most famous songs though im not a big fan of any of these nor intently following popculture. theyre just very popular & ppl frequently gush about them.
Seems like type 9 has the optimum balance of unique creativity and broad relatable appeal. Plus, you can talk in normal-sized sentences unlike us head types

So I’ve slept on it and I’m going to make a very controversial post. But bear with me.
Clarke killed Finn to save him from suffering a horrible death. Clarke was supposed to take the bullet that killed Lxa. Clarke shot Bellamy, who had aligned himself with the enemy and was going to betray his people (again). Clarke is doomed when it comes to relationships and is essentially responsible for the deaths of these three loved ones (at least we know she blames herself).
So in terms of past actions, this is nothing new for Clarke. She is the head after all.
However, last season she said her biggest regret, her heaviest sin was leaving Bellamy in the fighting pit. She wouldn’t make that mistake again. And all this season she said she wouldn’t lose anyone else, even after losing Bellamy the first time.
So I’ve seen a lot of people say “make it make sense!” and all last night, I thought the same thing as I fought the onslaught of tears, trying not to believe Bellamy is really gone.
So here’s my controversial thoughts:
Bellamy is in fact dead, shot in the heart by Clarke (now do I think they could take Bellamy to bardo and maybe save him? Unlikely but not entirely impossible)
This is not exactly out of character for Clarke but I believe she believes she shot a stranger, Bellamy died before etherea to her. Think of how she compartmentalized Finn’s death.
BUT I also believe that Bellamy was right...Becca was right. Something is coming, whether it’s a war or a test and I think Clarke is the only one who can pass
Because I think she already did pass. Was killing Bellamy a test? Maybe.
If this transcendence stuff is real, I think there is a chance for Bellamy and Clarke to meet again. In what way? No idea. Maybe be a little King’s Cross action.
I also think the writers have been painting Memori as the new power couple for a while now but that’s an entirely different post
All this to say, I am not happy with the events of last nights episode, I am definitely hurting over Bellamy’s death. I do think the writers let us down BUT I will watch the final three episodes before making a final conclusion.
If this is the end for Bellarke, I will feel duped, baited, gaslighted, etc. I will be angry over the years I spent watching the show, the edits I made, the Bellarke playlists, the forums, the fanfic, the spec and amazing conversations with other fans. It will be hard to not see all of that as a waste.
But I just have a feeling something is not right and there’s a conclusion to the story that may satisfy us. Call me naive, delusional, stupid, whatever. I’m just going to wait to find out.
Because think about it, the whole tag line of this show is “may we meet again” and Clarke’s line of “so much for together” is suspicious. The song “the other side” playing when Bellarke embrace at the end of last season. Bellamy’s experience with the beings of light. Something big is still going to happen. Whether it involves Bellarke, we won’t know until the bitter end.
I won’t say I still have hope (Bellamy’s not still breathing after all), but when things don’t add up, it’s usually for a reason. Until then, catch me listening to hoax by taylor swift on repeat.
P.S. don’t come at me if you disagree, no one needs negativity thrown at them right now

an interview with @ravenreyes-0g (she/hers)
what are you working on right now? I'm working on both my Bellarke fic for BLM and a personal fantasy story that I've written and rewritten from the beginning to about 5000000 times because my ideas keep changing. My Bellarke fic is a modern day COVID AU that is also the longest I've ever done so it's been taking a minute to finish! :)
what’s something you’d like to write one day? A YA either historical fiction or realistic fiction LGBTQ+ romance. I have  a ton of ideas for plots, but I haven’t quite gotten the chance to sit down and try to plot them out. For historical fiction, I’m very interested in the 1900-1950s era, especially the Roaring 20s and WWI/II so I’d most likely set it there! I’m all in for the angsty romance, but I'd definitely want to end it on a happy note (unlike my current fantasy work) and I’m really looking forward to getting the chance to write a character driven story that doesn’t focus so much on heavy plot elements - something I can’t do as much in a fantasy setting!
what is the fanwork you’re most proud of? This one is actually pretty hard considering how my writing style has developed since I started writing fanfics. But if I had to choose, I’d probably say my FirstPrince (Alex/Henry from Red, White, and Royal Blue) fic on Ao3 called To Love Another Is to Cherish Life Itself. The title is a bit dramatic but basically it is an angsty/fluffy one-shot that I wrote really late one night and did minimal edits to before posting. It definitely feels like the most in character and honest fic I’ve ever done, and it broke my heart to write about some of the darker stuff, but in the end I’m pretty proud of it!
why did you first start writing fic? Well, I’ve been writing fanfics since I was probably 10 or 11 years old (I had PJO phase that spanned close to a decade and I’m still not totally over it 😂) but I started publishing work on Wattpad literally the night I turned 13. That was actually my first Bellarke/the 100 fic! It started out as my predictions for season 5 and then evolved into a fix-it fic for everything I didn’t like about the season. I’ve abandoned it for almost two years, but I’m slowly coming back to it so...slow updates y’all :)
what frustrates you most about fic writing? Everything! Just kidding - I love fic writing! But if I had to choose, probably two main things tho. 1) Creating a plot for a long term fic - I’m sooooo bad at it because I always feel like I’m writing too much in line with the actual show/book/movie and it feels like copying. 2) Making sure that I stay honest to the character I’m writing about. I have a huge tendency to write my fics (ESPECIALLY my one-shots) from the POV of the character who was not the main character in the original thing (like my POV for my RWRB fic is Henry, the love interest of Alex/other main character). This means that the only look inside their head that we’ve gotten has been through the eyes of the main character - which can obviously be biased. I try to stay as honest as I can to my interpretation of the character drawn directly from the text - but sometimes that means that I can’t include scenes that I want to because it feels off/out of character and that’s always disappointing. (also dialogue is just...something I really need to work on)
what are your top five songs right now? Ahhh see it changes on my day/mood but right now it’s probably
1. The Last Great American Dynasty - Taylor Swift 2. The Garden - Dua Lipa 3. Mirrorball - Taylor Swift 4. Icarus - Emma Blackery 5. Betty - Taylor Swift
(taylor really blessed us with folklore...I’m in love)
what are your inspirations? Ahhh - there are many. First and foremost, The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. It’s my favorite book for so many reasons, but it teaches me so much about writing and character development. Also Liesel and Rudy melt my heart every time. I also love all the songs listed above for inspiration, and I listen to I Get To Love You by Ruelle (it’s the Malec wedding song for any Shadowhuners fans out there!) whenever I write a really emotionally intense romantic scene. If you’re looking for amazing fic recs, I highly recommend all of HMS-Chill’s works (multi fandoms), clarkesbell, and DracoWillHearAboutThis on Ao3. Though not all of them write Bellarke/the 100, if you are in any of their fic fandoms, I highly recommend checking them out because they are fantastic writers!
what first attracted you to Bellarke? what attracts you now? Honestly? #1 - their development. I love enemies to lovers with my whole heart, but I honestly didn’t see Bellarke as romantic until the 2x05 hug where I was just hit with a wave of OMG THEY BELONG TOGETHER!!! Seriously, though, the fact that they go from enemies, to grudging allies, to co-leaders, to partners, to friends, to best friends, to soulmates just makes my heart go !!!! - Also they have insane chemistry, and that certainly doesn’t hurt. What attracts me to them now is much the same, but also how much they care about each other. They’d go to the ends of the earth to save one another, and it just blows me away how powerful their screen time is, even when their scenes together have become so rare. I also don’t thinkI’m ever getting over 6x10. I swear my heart actually stopped beating when I watched it live the first time.
BESIDES Bellarke, what character or pairing do you like best on t100? Ha! Umm, I actually really like Murven, both platonically and romantically. Their journey might not be as well developed as Bellarke’s but it is still a powerful one hinging on love and forgiveness. I love how Lindsey/Richard play off of each other on screen - it’s such a joy to watch! I’ve also loved the Octavia/Indra dynamic, but it’s kinda been tabled in recent seasons which is sad :(
why did you decide to start writing for bellarkefic-for-blm? Two reasons - 1) I wanted to do everything I could for BLM and it was so amazing that I could do that, and write works for my favorite show! 2) I was super curious about the prompts people would send in. My work right now is a modern day AU COVID fic where Bellamy and Clarke have to share a room together in an overcrowded hospital until one day Clarke disappears. It’s so different than what I usually write - bc I almost always write canon compliant/in universe fics - so it’s a nice challenge!
what’s your writing process like? Honestly it depends. For long/multi-chapter fics I try to plan out as much of it as I can, characters, plot, important moments, etc - even though I am not very good at planning. But for one-shots I tend to go off of emotion or feelings. Usually when I write one-shots, it’s because a particular line or moment in a book/movie/show really spoke out to me, and spurred this idea in my head. I always start with the line I want to get to at the heart of the fic and then write around it from there. I am definitely much more of a panster than a planner- which is why one-shots work much better for me!
what are some things you’d like to recommend? 1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Also, All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuinston, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. 2. Musicals! They can be amazing inspiration - my favorites are Les Mis, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Six, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Hadestown, Anastasia, Island Song, Newsies, & Tuck Everlasting! 3. TV Shows besides The 100 - Anne with an E, Shadowhunters (just pretend you haven’t read the books), French SKAM, Love Victor, HSMTMTS, Merlin, Lucifer, I think I’m just listing fandoms at this point 😂
Also, almost any Taylor Swift, Troye Sivan, Conan Gray, Dua Lipa, Emma Blackery or Harry Styles songs are amazing!
My handle is the same for everything - Twitter, Tumblr, Ao3, Wattpad (if anyone still uses that anymore), etc (RavenReyes0G). I also run a book review blog on Instagram which is @betweenthepagesandtea, so feel free to check that out too! Request a fic written by her via @bellarkefic-for-blm!

Some Current News With Me
So, I finally started Inkspice by Kaitlin Bellamy, the sequel to Windswept in the Mapweaver Chronicles, last night. So far, I’m only two chapters in, but the writing is beautiful and the characters are still lively and fun. I can tell this is going to also be a fun ride.
Tumblr media
I’m also listening to Fine Line by Harry Styles any chance I get. I’m in love with this album and it’s just a really great piece of work. I’ve never been a One Direction fan at all, but Harry Styles on his own is pretty damn cool. I was listening to it last night while outlining Book Two, and I was just blown away by the music, so it was hard to concentrate on my work, but it was worth it. This and folklore by Taylor Swift are definitely my two favorite albums in recent times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I’m going to continue with revisions tonight, and hopefully finish the chapter I’m on, no matter how long it takes. I’m really excited about this particular chapter and really love this story I’m creating with all my heart, and pray that I get it published some day.
So, yeah, there you have it. There’s my recent happenings. What’s going on with everyone else?

just a kiss
Summary: Clarke is on a mission to kiss everyone at the party.
AO3 // ff.net
Clarke may already be slightly drunk when she arrives for Octavia’s 21st birthday party. It’s a warm summer night, she looks amazing, and she’s feeling good. And the punch she’s made for the party is delicious.
Abby has volunteered her back garden as the venue, and Clarke hears her mom laughing from the living room as she comes through the front door. Clarke follows the sound down the hall. She finds Abby giggling, a glass of wine in her hand, as Kane tells her what must be a very funny story. Although, Abby is the only one laughing that hard. Bellamy, Indra and Kara seem amused, but from the looks of it, Abby is even drunker than Clarke herself.
“Hi, Mom,” Clarke says from the doorway, alerting the group to her presence.
Abby beams up at her. “Hi, honey! You brought punch! Me too!”
“Yeah,” Clarke laughs. “Hey, everyone,” she addresses the rest of the room, but her eyes are on Bellamy. He smiles at her. “What are you doing in here with all the grown-ups?” Clarkes asks him, grinning.
“Waiting for you,” he says with a wink. Clarke rolls her eyes, but she’s pretty sure she’s blushing.
She looks down at her punch to hide her pink cheeks. “Where should I put this?”
“There’s a table outside,” Kane says.
“I’ll show you,” Bellamy jumps up. Clarke stands aside so he can lead her outside, though she lived in this house for the first eighteen years of her life.
Bellamy walks beside her and nudges her shoulder with his affectionately.
“You’ll make me spill the punch,” she scolds half-heartedly.
“Was that full before you got here?” Bellamy raises an eyebrow, judging her maybe slightly.
“That’s irrelevant,” Clarke pokes her tongue out, and Bellamy laughs, deep and joyful. The sound warms her from the inside out.
She brings the punch outside and puts it next to the one her mom made, then pours herself and Bellamy a cup.
“We should play beer pong later,” she decides. “Or punch pong or whatever.”
She sets off to find Octavia, Bellamy following her. She finds Octavia dancing with Niylah on the grass under the fairy lights, amongst a crowd of other people. Clarke is pretty sure she knows them all, but she ignores them in favour of greeting the birthday girl. She throws her arms around Octavia, grinning.
“Happy twenty-first birthday! You can finally have your first drink,” she laughs, knowing Octavia has been drinking since she was sixteen. Clarke still doesn’t know how Octavia managed to keep it from Bellamy, but then he’s always been a little blind when it comes to his little sister.
“And you can have your, what? Tenth for the night?” Octavia laughs. She pulls out of the hug and looks to Bellamy. “You finally decided to join the real party, Bell? Now that Clarke’s here?”
“I’m just here for the punch,” he shrugs, taking a sip.
“And I’m not even that drunk,” Clarke says. Except she probably is that drunk. But she’s an affectionate drunk, and she gives Octavia an exaggerated peck on the lips, full of love for the girl, and the night and life in general.
“She’s definitely drunk,” Niylah chuckles, and Clarke turns and gives her a kiss too.
“I love you guys,” Clarke says.
“Hey, where’s my kiss!” Raven yells. Clarke looks in the direction of Raven’s voice and sees Raven watching from by the fire pit. Murphy, Monty and Harper lounge in chairs beside her, looking amused.
“Come here and get it!” Clarke yells back.
“No, you come here!” Raven yells back.
Clarke laughs and skips over to Raven, falling into the empty seat beside her. Clarke grabs Raven face and smooches her, making over the top kissing noises. Raven pulls away and wipes her mouth.
“Gross, why is it so wet?”
“You wanted a kiss.”
“I was mistaken,” Raven screws her nose up.
Clarke laughs, probably a little too much. “Shut up. You loved it.” She turns to the other three. “Who else wants one?”
“I’ll pass,” Murphy snorts.
“Oh no,” Clarke smirks wickedly. “You’re not getting out of it that easy!”
Clarke jumps up and to Murphy’s credit he lets her peck him on the lips.
“Are you going to kiss everyone at the party, Clarke?” Monty chuckles.
“Maybe I will,” Clarke shrugs. She gives him a kiss next, and then Harper.
“Everyone?” Raven says pointedly. She nods her head in the direction Clarke had come from. Clarke follows the direction of her gaze and her eyes land on Bellamy, talking to Miller. Clarke’s stomach flips over and she sobers up for a moment.
And maybe, if she wasn’t so in love with him she would kiss him. Because she knows it can’t be just a kiss the way it is with everyone else. But he doesn’t know how she feels and he definitely doesn’t feel the same, so kissing him just for the hell of it isn’t an option.
She clears her throat. “Anyone want more punch?”
They end up playing beer pong (or punch pong), Octavia and Indra vs Clarke and Miller.
“If we win, I’ll kiss you,” Clarke tells Miller.
“Not an incentive, Clarke,” Miller tells her.
“If we lose I’ll kiss you.”
“Better.”
They lose anyway, despite the incentive and their cheer squad consisting of Bellamy, Raven and Monty, because as competitive as Clarke and Miller are, Octavia and Indra are on a whole other level.
“Clarke, you lost, so you have to kiss Miller!” Octavia yells in her victory.
Miller rolls his eyes. Clarke looks at him, half smiling, half grimacing. He sighs. “Come on then, Griffin. But you’re the only girl I’m ever kissing.”
Clarke laughs and gives him a quick peck on the lips. Clarke turns on Indra.
“Winners get one too!” Clarke shouts, and before Indra can protest, Clarke plants a sloppy kiss on her cheek. “Who haven’t I kissed yet?” she shouts.
“Bellamy!” Murphy shouts.
“I haven’t kissed my mom or Kane!” Clarke realises. She races over to them, now that they’ve joined everyone outside, and kisses them both on each cheek. Kane looks bewildered, but Abby looks delighted.
“Love you, Mom,” Clarke beams.
“Love you too, Clarke.”
We R Who We R comes on, and Clarke knows she has to dance. She grabs Raven and drags her onto the patch of grass that has become the dancefloor, claiming it’s their song, though Raven isn’t sure why. Clarke dances and sings and jumps up and down, and she makes sure to kiss everyone else who’s dancing.
The song ends, and Clarke goes to get more punch. Only somehow, she trips over the table leg, and being a fold up table, it collapses, sending the punch bowl flying, and drenching Clarke in a mix of juice, cheap wine, and vodka.
She lies on the ground for a second, and she’s pretty sure everyone saw her fall. Bellamy appears at her side.
“You okay?”
Clarke nods. “I tripped.”
“I saw.”
Clarke groans. She sits up, wincing. She banged her elbow pretty hard, and she’s covered in punch, but other than that she’s okay.
“Let’s get you cleaned up.”
Bellamy gets Clarke a glass of water while she rummages around in her old room for something else to wear. Nothing as cute as the sundress she has on now, but at least her old Taylor Swift concert t-shirt doesn’t have punch on it.
She walks out of her room and Bellamy hands her the glass of water.
“I knew you were a closet Taylor Swift fan,” he grins.
“Shut up,” Clarke swats at him playfully. She heads to the laundry to throw her dress in the machine, and Bellamy goes with her. She sets the glass down and puts the dress in the machine.
“Are you having a good night?” he asks her.
“I was until I got punch all over myself,” Clarke sighs. Having punch poured all over her seems to have sobered her up a fair bit, although she is feeling a little dizzy.
She’s suddenly aware of being alone with Bellamy, of him watching her. She grabs the washing powder and of course manages to drop it and spill half of it on the floor. She crouches down to clean it up, and Bellamy’s beside her in an instant, helping her sweep it back into the box. Their hands brush and Clarke stands up hurriedly, her face flushed.
Bellamy stands up slowly and puts the washing powder on top of the washing machine. He’s standing so close to her. Not touching her, but close enough that if she swayed even slightly she would brush against him. Her heart hammers rapidly, and her throat feels dry. She swallows.
“I’ve probably made a huge idiot of myself tonight, haven’t I?” she blurts.
Bellamy looks amused. “Well, you are the only one here who got punch all over herself.”
“I meant all the kissing,” she screws up her nose. She looks at his lips. Why had she brought up kissing with him standing so close to her?
Bellamy shrugs. He hesitates. “I was wondering… why you’ve kissed everyone at this party but me.”
Clarke swallows. She can’t look at him. “You noticed that, huh?”
She glances up to see him nod.
“I can’t kiss you,” she says.
“Why not?”
“Because…” she bites her lip. “Because it means something different with you.”
“Clarke,” he says, in that deep voice that makes her knees tremble. She keeps her eyes on him as he closes the small space between them, and then she’s closing her eyes, her lips parting as he kisses her. The room spins, and she’s not sure if it’s the alcohol or the kiss, but it could be the kiss.
It only lasts a few moments, but it leaves her breathless for much longer.
“Now you’ve really kissed everyone at the party,” Bellamy grins. “Congratulations.”
Clarke lets out a breathy laugh. “Make sure I remember this in the morning.”
“You’ll remember,” he winks. “And even if you don’t I’m happy to do it again. As many times as you want.”
“Okay,” Clarke says, and she’s blushing again. Bellamy laughs, and Clarke kisses him again to shut him up. “We should go back to the party.”
Bellamy nods, and Clarke takes his hand and leads him back outside, a new spring in her step. She steps through the back door into the backyard.
“I’ve officially kissed everyone at this party!” she yells, pulling Bellamy’s hand up in the air with her own. She’s pretty sure all her friends are cheering, and this time its Bellamy’s turn to blush.
