“Steve is great. There's something very calming about his presence, almost in a protective way. Very in control of a room, but in a way that gives comfort instead of like, annoyance or fear.” YES! Ok yes you put into coherent words. That’s exactly it.
Lol your visual of Santa in thongs 😂😂 funny story… that’s actually how they depict Santa here. He’s on the beach in his togs and thongs, sunhat, singlet, and a beer 😂 bc ofc our Christmas happens in summer. We’ve even got specific summer related Christmas songs lol
Yes this is the same one colby walks with lexi to help her on the ice. I forgot to comment that but i did think aww lol idk how hard it is to walk on ice but i imagine if youre not used to it it can be tough
god imagine the rukus if people notice the portrait thing… especially this close to the other drama 🙄 its very obviously a mass produced art piece and the one in the driskill might actually be a painting if its losing its colour. and if it does ever stir up… it wasnt snc faking shit. lets make that clear rn. how are they supposed to remember every portrait/photo/doll they come across? i only made the connection bc i saw the driskill episode a few days ago and samantha was such a big part of it… then watching this one and being like wait ive seen that portrait before lol if anything, the driskill hotel are faking shit lol
oooh i would LOVE a compilation of his empathic moments. that wouod be s study in itself
yeaaah they mentioned the bellaire house a few times but i was like oop jot touching that up with a ten foot pole lol
and idk abt the doll and dumb waiter thing. naybe? it doesnt stick out in my memory but im also sick so it may have just gone over my head
- aussie anon
That's crazy! I can't reconcile Santa as like, Jimmy Buffet lmao.
Then again, our Christmas happens in the winter (up north anyway), so it makes sense that Australia would have a summertime Santa.
Also, the dumb writer thing must have been one of the prison episodes then. I swear it was one that Steve and Dylan were in as well...
...ah well. My point stands. Man is a beacon of haunted shit lol.
There is another prison ep where he makes a beeline to a chair in this one room and sits in it, only to be told the chair is haunted and the challenge for thay room is to sit in that chair for a set amount of time in the dark and he's just like "oh fuck" lol.
Someday I will learn how to edit, and then its gonna be on 🤣.

Do you have a favorite Shyan moment? Or maybe a top 5?
YESS of course!! okay so like-
1. the hand kiss. this moment went all the way to my number one for me because it's just so so sweet and you rarely see shane be affectionate on camera. the amount of gratitude, devotion, and love in that small kiss really sealed the deal for me. (pic from @/queerunsolved <3)
Tumblr media
2. the indiana jones moment. god this moment was everything. i think this was really the first time we see shane be affected, or ruffled i guess you could say, by ryan. the way he's all playful before ryan comes in and the moment ryan steps out he's literally speechless by ryan's stunning look. i mean, really, who could blame him. i could talk about this moment all day tbh. (pic from @/queerunsolved <3 can u tell i love her blog dlkfjd)
Tumblr media
3. the seance at the bellaire house. this moment was so so cute because this is when they were still like in the 'we're good friends but i'm still kinda awkward with physical touch' stage of their friendship. first, they are holding hands. second, i love it that shane was too busy staring at ryan for a full two seconds before he realized he had to read the thing on ryan's phone. and that cute laugh ryan made when shane started reading. third, when they let go they're just soooo cutely awkward and shy i love it so much.
Tumblr media
4. the 'i love yous' during spooky small talk. literally the first time we heard them say i love you on camera. it was so sooooo sweet and we obviously knew they loved each other for a long time but to hear it is just so satisfying. there's no metaphorical wall between them and they're just so secure in their friendship and their love for each other it just gets me :')
5. the whole entire bowling date in tourist trapped and shane saying 'i know you do'. do yall see my pattern now lksdjf it's a lot of shane saying or doing something affectionate. the bowling date where shane gets ryan gin, his least favorite alcohol, and ryan saying 'you do know me' got me sooooo bad. they know each other sooo well and just knowing something small about each other makes me go apeshit. and shane saying 'i know you do' to ryan saying he does love a good taco (i think), it's just so intimate!! god anyways...
BIG shoutouts to these moments: shane winking at ryan in test friends, ryan calling shane big boy and shane getting flustered, the bar scenes in 3 horrifying cases of ghosts and demons, ryan saying 'family both given and chosen' referring to shane, ryan saying 'we took an oath' and how it's 'never broken', and finally when ryan said they'd practice dancing together in the shower in that theater www ep like that woman 100% thought they were dating
anyways this got SO long im so sorry but i love them so much and thank you soooo much for this ask <3

BuzzFeed Unsolved Views - The Finale
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey there nerds, it's me, ya spreadsheet gremlin.
I first started paying attention to YouTube views back in March 2019. I got curious what the most popular BFU videos were by viewcounts and I recorded all of them one day while I was bored at work. Then a week or two later, I checked them again as a new season of True Crime started. And well, the rest is history.
I wasn't as consistent with BFU recording as I am with Watcher, although I did take them every week after a new episode premiered. Now that the finale has aired, I don't have plans to record these again, at least not for a long time. So, without further ado, here are some final thoughts on BFU's viewcounts. (full spreadsheet here)
First off, it is wild to see how much some of these videos have gained in the past two and a half years, especially videos that aren't new. Like 3 Cases went from 16 million in March 2019 to 32.5 this week! Literally doubled!
Okay, here are the top 10 most viewed BFU Supernatural episodes:
3 Cases of Ghost and Demons 32.5 million
Illuminati 25.8 million (Shane's first episode)
Exorcism of Anneliese Michel 25.4 million
Haunting of Hannah Williams 22.5 million
Goatman's Bridge 20.8 million
Men in Black 19.1 million (highest SPN Bront ep)
Waverly Hills 17.8 million
Queen Mary 17.1 million
Toxic Death of Gloria Ramirez 16.1 million
Demonic Bellaire House 15 million
And now the top 10 most viewed BFU True Crime episodes
Elisa Lam 27.6 million (highest Bront)
JFK 20.7 million
DB Cooper 19.6 million
Axeman 18.5 million
Room 1046 17.8 million
Jon Benet Ramsey 17.6 million
Jack the Ripper 17.1 million
OJ Simpson 16.9 million
Jamison Family 16 million
Tupac 15.9 million
Early season episodes dominate both lists (only 5 are newer than season 2 across both lists). Some because they're classics, some because they cover high profile cases, some because they've just been out longer! One thing I've noticed across all my viewcount recording is that once a video does well, the more likely it is to continue to do well. I guess that's how the algorithm works! if it works at all. (I still have my questions)
Now some averages!
I added up all the views I recorded yesterday (November 23 2021) and the total amount was a whooping 1.317 billion views. With a B! That makes me kind of emotional! Ryan Bergara! Your baby has a billion views!
Supernatural episodes had a total of 645.5 million views over 55 episodes, which averages out to ~11.74 million views per episode. Considering 6 of these episodes just came out, I imagine that average will rise in a few months
True Crime episodes had 671.6 million views over 66 episodes, which averages out to ~10.18 million views per episode.
When I first started this, one thing I was curious about was which version of the show was more popular. Over the past two years, SPN has become the clear winner on that front, although it used to be much closer.
The total average of all episodes is ~10.89 million.
And some other numbers:
The boys can't count, Thelma Todd was their 100th episode, not the Somerton Man Revisited.
There are 121 episodes in total. 112 with Shane.
Shane's 100th episode was the Hammersmith Ghost.
The clearest thing to me about this whole exercise is how popular BFU continues to be, even if it's not the high days of BuzzFeed anymore. It's only gained views and viewers since 2019, and this only considers YouTube. Unsolved is also on Hulu and Prime, who knows how many people the show has reached solely on those platforms.
I tend to think of this fandom as on the smaller side, because it is compared to many other things on Tumblr and the like, but that doesn't mean its impact has been. Millions of people have watched these two goofballs wrestle with ghosts, murders, aliens, demons, heists, lost treasure, conspiracy theories, Mothman, and each other. But the one thing that has never been an unsolved mystery is their success. Comedy pairings cannot be forced, the chemistry has to be there naturally, a bizarre unseen link between two people that have no business having it. All thanks to a clear Google calendar in 2016, we have been able to enjoy 112 episodes of Ryan and Shane and their weirdo bond, growing from friendly antagonists, a hardcore believer and skeptic, to business partners who see in more shades of grey now, thanks to each other. It's been one hell of a ride, boys. I can't wait for what's next.

Hello friend! So you've convinced me to watch Buzzfeed Unsolved but there is SO MUCH of it. Do you have any recommendations of where to start? I'd like to try out some ghosty ones, but I don't really know which they are. Plus, I'm a totally scaredy cat. Help?!
Oh this is so exciting!!! I'm thrilled to be able to recommend some eps, it's such a fun series and even if you're easily scared, it's pretty lighthearted and goofy, which prevents it from being as scary as it otherwise might. The sheer volume of content is definitely overwhelming but I've consulted with people who know more than me & they've agreed that these are some great places to start: Supernatural - 3 Horrifying Cases of Ghosts and Demons The very first time Ryan and Shane go ghosthunting together and it contains some iconic moments, an absolute must-watch. (warning about spiders in the 2nd case - it doesn't last very long but timestamps for those moments are 24:00 to 24:50, 25:25 to 25:32, and 25:50 to 25:56.) - The Haunted Halls of Waverly Hills Hospital If you're a believer in the paranormal (aka. Boogara), this episode has some intriguing moments that you could consider evidence of something otherworldly - but if you're a skeptic (aka. Shaniac), it's still worth watching for the totally creepy atmosphere of this place. Also, it's fun to see Ryan freaked out! - The Harrowing Hunt For Bigfoot Who doesn't love Bigfoot content? The boys try to track down the mysterious beast, which Shane actually believes in (Ryan is less convinced), so that's a fun twist on the normal skeptic vs. believer dynamic. - The Search for the Mysterious Mothman Another fun search for a famous cryptid, featuring the statue of Mothman where they gave him the juiciest ass. - The Ghosts and Demons of Bobby Mackey's If you've ever wondered where "Hey there demons, it's me, ya boi" comes from, this is the episode - and this is the moment if you just want to watch that. - London's Haunted Viaduct Tavern This one, as well as the two episodes after it, are from their visit to the U.K.! So you might enjoy seeing them be silly about non-American historical stuff. - The Demonic Bellaire House While I'm not sure what's actually up with this house (is it a demon? is it just bullshit?), there's a moment from this episode that is actually what finally convinced me to give Buzzfeed Unsolved a real try after I saw it in a video clip on Twitter. It's the spirit box "evidence" and it's terrific stuff. A GOOD EP. - The Unbelievable Horrors of the Old City Jail This is the most recent episode of Supernatural they've done since the pandemic put season 7 on hold* and it's probably one of my all-time favourites. They're incredibly goofy in it and Ryan genuinely becomes a bit unhinged because of how terrified he is. Also, some intriguing evidence! - The Murders That Haunted The Lizzie Borden House This one is arguably a bit of True Crime mixed in with Supernatural, so that's a plus, but it's also fun to see two grown men chanting a creepy children's rhyme to each other in a dark room. True Crime (I know you specifically said some ghosty ones but these are fun too) - The Strange Disappearance of D.B. Cooper This is a classic ep and is especially fun to rewatch given the recent Loki stuff with him as D.B. Cooper. It's very early in the series' run but they already have some great banter going on. - The Terrifying Axeman of New Orleans Despite some pretty gruesome content, this episode is a lot of fun and includes them wandering around in a remote location, which is always exciting for a True Crime ep! - The Eerie Case Of The Watcher I have to include this because it's the case they named their company after and it's an incredibly silly & fun episode (also no one was physically maimed in this case, so that's nice!). If you like these episodes, there are a ton of others I left off in the interest of keeping this relatively short, so please let me know if you want more recs! There are also various playlists you can use to go through the episodes, depending on whether or not you want to watch more True Crime with the Supernatural, and if you want to watch the Postmortems (where they answer viewers' questions after each episode and discuss other possible theories, and Shane eventually begins something called the Hot Daga which you may love or truly hate, depending on your tolerance for silliness and cartoon food stuffs).
*season 7 will be the last season of Unsolved Supernatural and Ryan has recently teased that he's really excited about some of the locations they'll be visiting, so of course I'm hyped - they're going to film this sometime over the next few months and it'll come out in the fall

MONTHLY MEDIA: November 2019
Whoa November is over! So I didn’t see any movies this month but there are so many I want to check out. Parasite! Knives Out! Jojo Rabbit! Maybe December.
……….TELEVISION……….
Tumblr media
Daybreak (Episode 1.01 to 1.03) This seems like fun so far! Characters are great, the world seems well-established and feels like it’s been lived in for a while, and it’s really just the plot that I’m not clicking with. Most of the stuff works until it goes back to “gotta find dream girl!” It just feels...dull. Especially when compared to all the other far more interesting stuff going on. Gonna keep watching but hot dang I hope they move on from the “where’s Sam?” stuff soon.
The Good Place (Episode 4.01 to 4.05) I’m not ready for this series to end but hot dang does it feel like it knows where it’s going and how it’s going to get there. I’m just happy to be along for the ride.
Queer Eye: We’re In Japan! (Episode 1.01 to 1.04) I appreciate that they addressed the magic of translators at the end of the first ep and I wish they would’ve gone into more of it. Their “guide” was likely a choice based on social media influence and bilingualism, but it seemed like a missed opportunity to have a gay Japanese man introduce the Fab 5 to the culture. Even the comedian from Episode 3 seemed like a better fit. I just don’t know if I got the right introduction into various nuances of the culture, you know? Also this article says a lot more and in a much clearer way.
……….READING……….
Tumblr media
Emperor Mollusk Versus the Sinister Brain by A. Lee Martinez (Page 191 of 293) Very breezy and easy read but for an interplanetary romp with a hyper-smart squid as the protagonist, it isn’t quite connecting. The book is full of alien tropes and the premise is fun, but the lead character doesn’t really get challenged and there’s little impact from events as they happen. It feels pulpy but doesn’t seem to have the melodrama that makes it read like the author couldn’t commit to the bit.
A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony (Complete) I have a vivid memory of seeing this cover when I was a child and really wanting to read it. So when I saw it at a thrift store I immediately picked it up. There were some fun magical ideas in here but it is dripping with so much 70s sexism that I can’t, in good faith, recommend this to anyone. If it was maybe one or two moments then you could maybe give some leniency to the era, but every chapter has at least one moment where the author takes a shot at women. It’s real bad.
Tumblr media
Silver Surfer Omnibus by Dan Slott, Michael Allred, Laura Allred, and many many more (9 issues/chapters in...sorry this book doesn’t really have page numbers) Okay I love it. I didn’t know what to expect but you know when you just have a gut feeling that you’ll like something? Exactly this. I knew nothing about Silver Surfer but the book catches you up and then takes you on a fun series of intergalactic adventures. When I realized it was essentially Marvel Doctor Who, I knew this was for me. I’m really taking my time with this cause I think it’s something special.
James Bond Origin by Jeff Parker, Bob Q, Roman Stevens, Jordan Boyd, Jordie Bellaire, and Simon Bowland (Complete) Pinpointing what makes a Bond story a “Bond” story is tricky. This series is a fun and engaging spy narrative, but I think showing the early days of Bond makes it read the same way Young Indiana jones felt: you know where they’re going but they’re not quite there yet. That isn’t to say it’s not great, cause it is. I suppose I’d just recommend this to those who like spy stories, narratives set during the second world war, or a combination of the two. Those are likely the same people as those who like James Bond as a character, but I think it lends itself more to the genre than the character. Great start to the series.
Tumblr media
Delicious in Dungeon: Volume 6 by Ryoko Kui (Complete) Still fantastic. It took a weird turn in the middle and I was worried it was moving away from the characters to focus on big fantastical monsters and melodrama, but it quickly corrected course. I can’t not recommend this to anyone who likes small fantasy with a gimmick.
The Tomb of Black Sand by Jacob Hurst, Gabriel Hernandez, and more! (Complete) This was mostly for research and I love this D&D module. It’s a fun concept with nuance and one of my favourite fundamental details: the characters are doing their own thing with their own goals and have been doing things before the party shows up. If you’re okay with spoilers, check out this review.
Tumblr media
The Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean (Complete) It’s interesting reading a true picture book by Neil Gaiman. I enjoy it as an adult, but I wonder if it connects well with its target audience. With that said, I loved the craftsmanship of the story and seeing Gaiman’s work stripped down to its essentials really helps to understand his approach to writing.
……….AUDIO……….
Tumblr media
The Adventure Zone: Graduation (Podcast) Back to D&D and having Travis DM is a great change up! With that said, I’m having a hard time getting past the first ep. It introduces so many characters and so much world-building that I’m not really getting into it.
……….GAMING……….
Tumblr media
Untitled Goose Game (House House) Fantastic, silly fun. I love the concept and the execution is perfect. I wish the game was maybe...2 levels longer, but what we do have is fantastic. Highly recommend.
Tumblr media
Maze of the Blue Medusa (Satyr Press) The group just sorted out a major threat that has been following them throughout the dungeon. A peek behind the curtain: I’m not sure this module is connecting with the group. I don’t think there’s a clear goal and the party hasn’t really taken the initiative to make their own goals. Maybe that’s my fault and I think part of it has to do with our previous adventure being fairly bespoke and rather on rails. They loved it, but I also think it set a precedent. I need to pull back and chat with the players to see how they’re feeling.
A Red & Pleasant Land (Lamentations of the Flame Princess) We don’t get to play often but when we do, it’s a great time. The party stumbled into a genuine warzone and had their first taste of real danger. But they also landed their first true kill and it really had a lot of impact! Up until now, enemies have been whimsically changing when they “die” so to kill someone really meant something. It was a moment that really stuck with me.
And that’s it! As always, Let me know if you have anything you think I should check out and happy Saturday.

Grown-up between the club and electro-acoustic guitars sounds, he has begun to be known from a very young age playing in the most important underground scene of northern Italy. The typical house beats of his music, deep and dense, rough but melodic, is the result of the contaminations of these years with a constant reference to the British dance flavor.
The greater stylistic influences, however, come out from the matching of his DJ activities with the work as producer and radio speaker, always investigating innovation and new sonic identity. He produces for various European dance Labels and collaborates with many artists of the Milan hip-hop scene, continually perfecting and expanding the artistic limits of his attitude.
The debut, in 2010, for the independent label "I love Deep" of Hungarian Budai & Vic, directs himself towards different collaborations throughout Europe in the following years.
In 2014 for the new Kaleido label, he comes out with the EP "Lone" and later with a brilliant remix of Onur Ozman. His release "Out of space," out for Different Attitudes in 2015, receives essential feedback from artists of the like of Demarkus Lewis, Vanilla Ace and Robert Owens.
Until 2015 he produced and hosted the monthly format of house music "Going Deepa" live on Radio Popolare 107.6 FM.
In 2017 Criss made his debut on the iconic american record label “Salted Music” with his “Night Visions” EP.
After that, he started making music for most of the main House music labels in the scene, such as Large Music, Sub_Urban, Mood Funk, Spacedisco Records and Phoenix Music. Qubiko, Deeplomatik, Dirty Secretz, Soledrifter e Marc Cotterell are just some names who remixed his tracks.
Today, Criss actively collaborates with some cool italian web radios like “Radio Emotions” and “Milano Beat Radio”.
Tracklist:
01. Bellaire – Respect [AOC Records] 02. Tour Maubourg – Amicalement Vôtre (Art Of Tones Remix) [Happiness Therapy] 03. Smoothless – Seduction (Sebb Junior Remix) [Cyanide] 04. hi i’m new to the fandom and i was just wondering what the deal is with shane apologising for a comment regarding a pet owner? i’ve tried looking into it but i’m still confused. what was he talking about/in what ep?
in the demonic bellaire house ep, a woman told a story about how a demon that lived in her house picked up her dog and threw it against a wall. shane started laughing (in surprise, not at this lady or her dog) and her response was that she was going to “punch him in the face”. after that, shane made a few public jokes about how the lady was clearly kind of violent and might have thrown her own dog and blamed it on a demon, but she and her legal team must have contacted buzzfeed about him making that claim because he had to apologize for it.
just my opinion, but i’ve said before that a woman who goes around threatening to punch strangers in the face shouldn’t be throwing stones
