Life Tracker updated for Episode 7! This one is much quicker than Episode 6 on account of not being on holiday at the time, even though there were two thirds more deaths this time. Previous posts: Session 6, Session 5, Session 4. Also Session 8 (finale) post!
As usual, close ups and commentary below the cut. I’ve also added another graph for the average time of each team, which will also be below the cut.
There was so much carnage! 45 whole deaths in a single session! Not all deaths were awarded time during the session, but Scott’s video advised that it would be added by next session, so I have taken the liberty to add all the time as I see fit, hence why Scott is back to 7.5 hours. I haven’t seen every episode yet (in fact, other than Scott, I’ve only seen those that have perma-died), so I’m not sure if anyone else’s time is a mismatch, but if so I’m happy to explain where I’m getting my time additions and subtractions from!
Now for some close ups.
First, there was enough chaos that I decided to take a close up of Session 6 and 7 together so we can properly appreciate it:
Tumblr media
And a close up of Session 7 by itself:
Tumblr media
So many people lost major time, so it’s interesting to see Scott’s uptick of time at the end - he ended on only 30 minutes less than he would have been if he hadn’t died at all this session. Pearl didn’t die at all, and got the kill credit for Martyn blowing himself up in a trap, so she actually ended the session 30 minutes better than she started it. Grian also did very well for himself - he killed and died so many times, but somehow ended on the exact time he would have been on if he had experienced a peaceful deathless session.
BigB, Cleo, and Martyn all ended the session 1 hour poorer than they started, and Bdubs and Scar ended 1.5 hours below where they would have been. Nosy Neighbours are thus doing super well, with Mean Gills and Clockers not too far behind, in terms of maintaining position from the start of the session.
TIES had an awful time this session, with Impulse and Tango both losing a net 2 hours, and Etho and Skizz losing a net 2.5 hours - and obviously Skizz entirely died.
Joel possibly had the worst time, losing a net 3.5 hours this session - though it didn’t help that 5 of his 7 deaths were all caused by the one person. Technically Jimmy didn’t do too badly, given he only lost a net 1.5 hours... but given that he was out of the series only an hour into the session, and also the first out entirely... it really didn’t go well for him either
I also find it interesting the sheer number of vertical lines this graph, the ones representing a death immediately followed by a kill or vice versa. I would love to figure out a way to show only one line at a time on the graph, so we can more easily see someone’s journey, but I haven’t had time to look into it yet.
Now onto the graph of the average times per team.
Tumblr media
This one is super interesting to me, especially TIES’s line - they had the lowest average life right from the start, but somehow by Session 4, through Session 5, and for most of Session 6, they were the team with the highest average time, and then it quite literally went downhill from there. The only thing saving them from being last now is the fact that the Bad Boys are down to only a single living player, and even then Grian is doing far better than most of TIES.
It’s also interesting to me how Mean Gills had a significant time uptick at the end of both Session 6 and Session 7 (the first due to Martyn and the second due to Scott). Scott’s time was so high that it kept Mean Gills’ average time as yellow for all of Session 6 despite Martyn being red for most of it... and Martyn then got enough kills to keep it there. Mean Gills is also the only team in the entire graph to anywhere gain such consistent significant time.
These averages also coincide with the comments I made above about the time offset difference for each player from the start to end of the session. Mean Gills are doing well, but they’ve been doing well for so long that I’m sure most players are aware that they need to be a target. Nosy Neighbours are also doing well but I feel like they’ve flown under the radar, and are not a significant target right now.
Here is a close up of this graph with Sessions 1-4:
Tumblr media
And the close up for Session 5-7:
Tumblr media
And the Session 7 only close up:
Tumblr media
I kept the dead players in the teams’ averages, since I think it is a better reflection of the teams’ strength as a whole, but I also created a version that excluded dead players. In those screenshots you can really see Bad Boys’ and TIES’ time jumping up at a death, instead of falling as it did here.
Here are the alternate averages graph:
Tumblr media
And close ups:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This makes Bad Boys look a lot better, because Grian does have a lot of time... but he is also alone. And there is definitely strength in numbers. Two players at an hour and a half each can fend off an attacker more easily than a single player at three hours can... unless nerves and panic get to them, as we definitely saw this session.
Wow and I almost forgot to include the raw data for this session!
The first hour of the session:
Tumblr media
The second hour of the session:
Tumblr media
There is just so much death! Look at all the box outlines!! I could barely fit this data on two screens on the zoom I was on, and I did not want to zoom out further.
I also obviously have data for the averages, but it was too far away from the column with the times on it that I wasn’t sure if it would still be useful on its own? Let me know if you want to see it!
This has once again been fascinating to see, and I cannot wait to see how Session 8 will go. Will it be the last session? Will they go until everyone is dead? Will they somehow have enough people with enough time to get to Session 9? Will Mean Gills be the final two and get to play fun relaxing games like Scott was suggesting?
Only time will tell.

Your mysterious spreadsheet gremlin here with a quick Mystery Files recap:
Once again, I'd like to point out how useless "trending" is as a youtube thing. Only the first three episodes of MF trended, however Sky Trumpets has, by far, performed the best. Trending, I will never understand you.
I think it's a little premature to say for sure, but it seems like the Ryan hosted episodes did perform a bit better than the Shane ones. But I don't think this really means anything, it could of course be the subjects not the host, and with only 6 episodes total, it's hard to definitively derive concrete trends. But I will definitely be interested to see if that continues in s2.
Sky Trumpets also gained the channel like 40k subscribers the week it came out. I don't track this consistently, so it's approximate, but still cool.
Mystery Files overall did not outperform Ghost Files, as I expected, but it is Watcher's second best performing show by a mile. With their third best performing show, Puppet History, on deck, I'll be interested to see how that show does now that we're on the other side of lore heavy season 5 and with New Bigger Professor.
And for posterity, as of June 26, 2023, Watcher has 300 videos with a total of 308,835,434 views and 2.64 million subscribers. The average per video view for this is actually down to 1.029 million views per video from 1.034 that I recorded in May. But YouTube rolled a new feature out in May, the Shorts, which are just YouTube trying to copy Tiktok for some fuckin' reason, and it counts those as proper videos alongside the weekly releases. I also assume it counts the total views that the channel has from those as well SO, I subtracted the total amount of views of the shorts (~2,358,000) from the total views above and got 306,477,464 views and divided by 283, the number of videos minus the 17 shorts, and got 1.082 million views per video. PHEW. That was annoying. Not guaranteed I will continue to watch this as closely as now, but there we go.

A Collection of GW2 Spreadsheets
Hello GW2 friends, I've decided to share my collection of checklists and trackers publicly! These are not designed to replace the wiki as standalone guides, but should complement the wiki pages for the achievements/collections. They're organized with information I personally wanted to see in one place but have links to the wiki, especially for some of the more complicated stuff that need the longer explanations
All sheets are self-contained so they can be copied individually to your own sheets if you already have one. Or copy the entire thing.
You can find the collection at this link:
This is the current list of what's available:
Story Completion/Map Completion - sheets to track your different characters' progress, map completion has percentages for both World Completion only and total completion
Starter Skins - Track which of the character creation skins you have so you don't get surprised by one when you use a wardrobe unlock
Dungeon Collection - Track Dungeon armor and weapons
Seasons of the Dragons - Overview of the entire set of achievements
Skyscale - Saving Skyscales is the main one here, with tags for the ones that happen in the same place and waypoint links for every item that has one. This was the first sheet I made so it's rougher than the others
Aurora/Vision - Trackers for the first collections of both
Luminescent Armor - Complete your Silverwastes armor skins collection, comes with a table of where each type of Mordrem champ can be found (I was getting really annoyed trying to remember which champ was which okay)
Gourmet Training - Second sheet I made so it's also kind of rough, mostly for an at-a-glance look at progress to chef 500
Envoy Armor - Overviews of both Envoy Armor collections, with steps separated out into preparations and the actual action needed
Specialization Collections - huge sheet with overviews of every single specialization collection
Some screenshots of how some of these look
A slice of the Seasons sheet:

That Luminescent Armor boss table because that one was really annoying me (feel free to take this screen on its own lmao idm)

Envoy Armor 1, sorted by raid wing:

Happy collection completions and achievement hunting!

Part 3
[1][2][4]
And he missed the mark. Sometimes something that works well for one person doesn’t really fit right for another. Where Donnie feels more comfortable categorizing and ordering things into understandable data, Raph feels more relaxed when he can step away from mountains of text or numbers and simply be.
Perhaps there is a way to meet in the middle?

got a worm nibbling my brain. can someone help me find a piece of obscure media?
webcomic/indie comic from the 2010s. basically a sci-fi short story about a young girl (with red hair?) who was being raised by scientists as part of an experiment. she receives a haircut/has her head shaved, in preparation for her annual brain scan/testing. it is revealed that while her body is human, her "brain" is artificial, made of computer implants throughout her skull and spine. at some point her biological mother (also a scientist on the same campus?) encounters her and is repulsed, viewing her as a machine who has murdered her daughter.
it was very poignant and it bruised my heart and i can NOT find it anywhere

HEY YOU!
Yeah, you! Are you trans? Do you like reading books? Or watching movies?
Do you like media about trans men/transmasculine characters but don't know where to find it?
That's sooo crazy because I have this little spreadsheet I'm working on where I'm trying to document all media with protagonists/major characters who are FTM or transmasculine.
The spreadsheet currently has 200+ entries spread across the following categories:
Books
Manga
Memoirs and non-fiction
Movies
TV Shows
Graphic novels / Comics
Webcomics
Audio dramas
Books and movies are also sorted by:
Which character is trans (MC, love interest, antagonist, etc)
If the trans character is POC
The trans character's sexuality (Because I saw lots of transhet guys sad about only being able to find gay romances)
If the author/actor is also trans (if we know for sure)
It's free to use, and free to add to as well! Editing permissions are on, and I check on the spreadsheet every now and then to make sure everything is in order and to clean up.
If you know something that isn't on the list, please add it! You don't have to fill in every single column, but fill it to the best of your abilities.
If you don't want to use the big ass long link below, you can also use: bit.ly/FTM-protags
I made this because I want it to be a community resource. So even if you're not a trans guy or transmasculine person, please reblog!

Time for another Limited Life graph and data table! This time, I took the data from my previous graphs, which effectively had time stamps for every time someone changed colour, and added together the total time everyone was at a particular colour, and then graphed it.
This data above shows everyone in order of most to least time total, and below the cut I also have this data as percentages, as well as ordered most to least time for each colour.
First, the data as percentages:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s fascinating that Skizz was the only person to spend a full 8 hours as a single colour - both times he dropped a colour was naturally and without death, and while he was yellow he only died once (falling down the elevator Impulse hadn’t finished making), and killed twice (Bdubs during the duel, and Tango as the final green sacrifice), which means they exactly evened out. This means he’s also the only person to have over 50% of his time in a single colour, and he is only one of two people to spend the greatest percentage of time in yellow rather than green.
The data in order of time spent green:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The data in order of time spent yellow:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The data in order of time spent red:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s fascinating that Martyn spent so long in red, though it makes sense - he was the third to fall red, and then won the whole thing. Impulse and Scott were the last to fall red (and indeed both accidentally became yellow again after everyone else was long red), so even though they survived as long as Martyn, they didn’t have nearly as much time on that final colour.
Scar is also the only person in the top 7 (top half) of time spent red, who didn’t also make it to the top 7 of total time, which I also find interesting. Equally, this makes Scott the only top 7 total time person in the bottom 7 red time list... though he’s only red for ten fewer minutes than Impulse (lowest of the top 7 red time), so it’s less striking than Scar’s inclusion where he is.
There’s so much interesting to extract from this data, but I’ll leave this here for your perusal. If there’s anything else anyone would like to see graphed from my data, let me know!

Happy Ghost Files premiere week! Have some numbers.
Puppet History was weird this season! The Wu Zeitan episode blew up very quickly, that's easily the fastest growing PH ep ever, but nothing else was even close. With it, the opening weekend average is close to last season's (which averaged ~445k openers) at 466k, but without it, the average was 399k. Do people miss Professor's hat this much? Do they crave lore? I dunno! But the show still does very well, so I don't want to imply that it doesn't, but I did find this season's numbers odd as hell.
Everything else is trucking along at pretty consistent growth within series. Mystery Files grows around 20k per ep per week, Ghost Files at ~50k per ep per week and everything else is much lower. The people demand files.
They haven't done a lot of one offs this year but this new Steven one did pretty good. Nothing crazy but the one-offs aren't consistent and for a sponsored vid, I think that's just fine. I do miss Steven terribly so always happy to see him.
Ghost Files premieres this week! I'm excited for the show and for the new schedule. The Debriefs averaged around what the Post-Mortems always did, in the 1 million range, so I'm very interested to see how they do with the Friday spotlight and with longer videos.
As of today, August 21, 2023, Watcher has 2.71 million subscribers and 331,435,296 views. With the Youtube shorts, the number of videos and averages per video are borked, unfortunately, but nice to have some posterity with these.
