I've been meaning to do some more Homestar Runner art for a while anyways, and with my recent fixation I figured I could combine the two because both properties have a trio of prominent brothers. Of course there are distinct differences between the two families--namely the Brothers Strong looking so wildly different from one another and often being physically if not always emotionally close, whereas the Nailmasters would be completely identical if not for Sheo's added apron and are located at considerable distance from one another especially in Oro's case, but there's enough similarity on an individual level for me to have made it work.
Strong Sad is Sheo here, as he seems to be the most outwardly sensitive and creative of the three Strongs (though tbh they're all creative, Strong Sad just has the highest combo of both skill and sincerity). Strong Bad is Mato because they both seem to be the most enthusiastic about their narrative purpose--Mato is proud to be a Nailmaster and wants to pass that teaching onto a student, while Strong Bad is both a troublemaker and always tries to come off as "bad" in the "cool" sense, a badass if you will, in desire if not in full execution. And of course, Strong Mad is Oro, not because they were both the last ones to get matched, but because they're both outwardly tough while inwardly soft (Oro's reluctant acceptance of the Delicate Flower paralleling with Strong Mad's deep friendship with The Cheat and genuine love for his younger brothers). And something that I didn't realize while working on this that makes this even more fitting: the Godhome fight where Oro and Mato finally come together and, even if only in a dream, make amends and fight side by side as the brothers they are. In one of the earliest HSR toons that is now apparently taken off the site, Marshmallow's Last Stand, the whole plot was Strong Bad and Strong Mad challenging Homestar and Pom Pom to a tag-team fight. :3

Okay, I’m gonna cheat a little bit and give you three XD
1. Ghostbur! I feel like a majority of the fandom sees him as “silly ghost guy” and don’t acknowledge that he’s anything other than childish, innocent, naive, or dumb. It’s proper annoying.
In actuality, he’s a very interesting, very smart, very unique character!! It makes me so mad when people see him as shallow, or anything similar >:/ Because he’s not. He’s such a cool guy like genuinely 😭
2. Technobladeeeeee. I’m talking specifically about fics here—not so much art or fandom analysis.
I’ve read a handful of stories that characterize Techno accurately—no literally, a handful! I could count the number of fics on one hand!
It’s to the point where fanon Techno and canon Techno feel like two completely different characters 0-o It’s really weird.
3. Tommy! I just… I feel like so many people reduce him to “victim” and take away all the interesting bits about him; all his humor, his weirdness, his fire, his personality, even. I see this way more often in fics than anything else, especially SBI fics.

He’s so interesting and so unique and I can’t really think of any other character like him and he loves sheep and he cares so deeply about others especially Tommy and goes out of his way to help them and he feels so many things and has so much difficulty letting himself feel those things and he’s so smart and cunning and resourceful and DREAM FREAKING SAW HIM AS A THREAT THAT’S WHY HE SENT HIM AWAY INTO THE WILDERNESS and Ghostbur is far from dumb or stupid no no no he’s actually very perceptive and has such a cool way of viewing the world and he sees the good in everyone even if they’re villains and he always gives people second chances even if they’re villains and his best friend is a sheep and he loves that sheep to bits and he loves Tommy so so much and was fully prepared to leave the entire server just the two of them if that would make Tommy happy and oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh.
I freaking love Ghostbur, man.

OH!!! NIKI AND WILBUR’S FRIENDSHIP!!! YES!!! I ADORE THEM!!! Especially during the L’manburg days; they clearly had such a lovely and close bond, and cared so deeply for each other.
They’re also one of the very few platonic male-female duo’s I’ve seen in media alsgaksgajgshsv and I absolutely love those types of relationships :D

As i mentioned before one of the character that makes me act truly unwise is Catherine, so she's definitely up the list for that selection as well.

Other characters that i'd Consider:tm: bc i do find them sexy in some way, but also don't know if i would go that far, are characters like Seruel, Elea, Eustace, Korwa. and in term of "would pet their ears to fluster them and maybe i'll be eheheh >:3c about it", Seox and Nehan definitely make the list. Also Feower and Tien. (and Lu Woh if we cheat since he's technically labeled as an Erune).
also Krugne's last twitter art still makes me feel unwise i want to bully him so bad.
But yeah, i'm looking through the list of Erune character and the reality of it all is that none of them drive me as unwise as Miss Cathy over it. So i'll stick to declaring Miss Cathy Queen of My Heart.

Well, so first off I have a whole sideblog for it @superphlyduskull :3c if ur interested
Second this is straight up like. The most invested I've ever been in a fandom tbh, it's the first time I've posted anything and the first time I've attempted fanfiction!! (tho I haven't finished or posted anything yet) I recently thought up a headcanon that ghosts see more of the light spectrum than we do and that thats also how they become invisible, by only reflecting light humans can't see. I'd like to make a little fic abt it I think! Maybe one where a bunch of bugs follow him around bc I think it'd be cute
I think what really gets me about this fandom is the potential for worldbuilding. The show did close to fuck all in terms of exploring its own lore, but there were hints everywhere of how the world might work, and it's SO FUN to play with!! It leads to so many interpretations that are all equally plausible! Plus the huge amount of AUs inspired just by the source material... the way it lends itself to crossovers super easily as well, considering Clockwork has sent Danny into a different universe in the show (yknow, to stop the timeline where his family and friends and teacher die because he cheated on a test, eventually leading to him destroying the world...... there are some interesting morals in the show)
The angst potential is also insane, and I'm actually interacting with angst a lot more in this fandom than I usually would bc its so beautifully handled a lot of the time. Between identity reveals going wrong and the Guys in White getting a hold of him and Vlad being a shitbag to Danny being the GHOST KING
Ghost King Danny is probably one of my favorite AUs, I think partially bc its really fun to explore how insane it is for poor Danny to be saddled with this huge responsibility, and also to see how much power that gives him? Like on the one hand thats too much for a kid his age to handle and I feel like I might be projecting a bit since I was responsible for more than I would've liked from a young age, but also it reeeally spices up identity reveal scenarios and can save him too much grief in others bc depending on the take, a huge amount of the ghost zone has his back!! Like uhhh No, you are NOT going to mess with our King, [insert possible antagonist here]
It's also super fun to think of what ghost culture might be like, as well as just how ghosts work! We see glimpses in the show, but again, nothing is explored much? I love the universally accepted headcanon that ghosts have a vital organ called a core (though how it works varies greatly from person to person), and the idea that there are multiple ways a ghost forms (like from a being dying, or just forming from ectoplasm and strong emotions or big concepts, or being straight up born??). I've also seen the idea that a lot of ghosts don't really mean harm to Danny and that ghost culture is generally more violent bc they're not as squishy as humans!
Also!! There's gonna be a new graphic novel which is sick as hell! We don't know much more than that, but hopefully Nickolodeon doesn't mess too much with the creative team, because I'm really interested to see where they take it (especially since I think bitch fartman doesn't have any say in decisions? I'm not sure on that tho). Either way it's new content and I'm excited to see where the fandom goes with it too!
I have also realized the reason I don't infodump much is because I'm terrible at explaining things and trip over my words and am hard to follow lmao, particularly in person. You'd think that as an actor I'd be a little better with words but naaah lmao. I need to rehearse them for them to come out right apparently

Current thoughts on Volume 6
That episode... damn...
Okay so that reveal on Mercury’s semblance, ouch...
It’s not like Roman’s situation where he never found his semblance... Mercury DID found his semblance, but it got stolen by Marcus.
Speaking of Marcus, I think now we know why Cinder was planning on recruiting him. She had an illusionist and thief on her side and she needed not just an assassin, but also an ability thief. This isn’t like a Kirby ability, Marcus STEALS semblances. So when Mercury killed him, he never got his semblance back... I mean... just imagine what would it be if it was Marcus who made it out alive instead of Mercury and joined Cinder?
Also from Tyrian’s talk with Mercury, I think that Merc and Emerald are gonna try to escape but I think there’s a 50% chance that one of them is going to make it out alive and from Tyrian’s talk and Mercury’s rant, I think Merc might die soon. The reason why I think so is that from what I’m seeing of Mercury, it sounds like he has nothing else to lose at this point. He hates being under Salem as much as Emerald, but he keeps an upbeat front with it like “OH HEY IMMA AT LEAST GO MURDER PEOPLE SO YAY!” And from what Tyrian implies, being in Salem’s Faction isn’t just fighting and killing people against them, and that kind of stuff irks Mercury (well more than irks him.... heh Irk Merc...). Also... look at Mercury’s expression in the intro contrasting Emerald’s. He looks neutral, but then smirks as if he’s got this. So... that’s a food for thought.
Anyways, next up is back to the heroes and ohhhhhh my lordy.... That Pyrrha memorial statue and Jaune talking to the Red Haired Woman.... I don’t think “Red Haired Woman” is Pyrrha’s mom, but rather an apparition. Because if it was Pyrrha’s mom, the rest of JNR would have taken noticed and Red Haired Woman wouldn’t disappear when Nora and Ren saw Jaune. Also... I’m super happy to see that Pyrrha’s remembered in Argus. I’ve been waiting for something like this since the heroes first got into Mistral! .... Also that apparition theory might give me an idea on the fact that ghosts exist so... :3c
Ruby THANK YOU for calling out Qrow for his moping around!! I’m loving Ruby a lot so far that she’s taking charge! This is the kind of things I’ve been waiting for her as the MAIN character since V4. She’s been on the sidelines these past few volumes, so to see her take charge and be like “You know what? We’re actually gonna do this for once!” is refreshing! I hope RT keeps that up with her going forward.
One more thing, Oscar literally just went for a walk, stressed shopped and bought himself a new outfit, and made dinner. That’s literally what happened. Frankly I’m surprised... usually the last episode of the year since Volume 3, something horrible happens and I’m surprised that Oscar didn’t get kidnapped by any of the villains... Although we are gonna be seeing the heroes commit basically a grand theft auto by stealing an Atlas airship so... umm.... I... guess? (I’m cackling that Jaune “I forged transcripts to cheat my way to Beacon” Arc was the one who suggested it XD)
So... yeah... other than that... good volume so far, but I’m wondering how is this Volume going to end? Like Cinder and Neo are far behind the heroes in terms of time so, Adam’s in Mistral throwing a temper tantrum and has only appeared as an apparition haunting Blake and Yang, Watts and Tyrian are gonna go the Atlas to stop the heroes so... next boss fight? I don’t know where Hazel is since Tyrian didn’t mention him, so I’m gonna assume that Salem’s torturing Hazel as we speak probably b/c he might care for Emerald and Mercury? IDK... And speaking of the two, Emerald and Mercury make it clear that they hate being in Evernight so they might escape, but I doubt one of them is gonna make it out alive... So... what now? What’s next and how is this Volume going to end?
