Imagine
The core Avengers and Loki falling under a Sleeping Curse. You and the newer Avengers try to come up with ways to wake them up. During the meeting, Peter Parker jokingly suggests that you wake Loki up with a kiss ala Sleeping Beauty style. You blush and stutter that the kiss has to be a two way street so it can’t work because Loki doesn’t like you. Dr Strange admits that Loki asks for you all the time during his visits to the Sanctum. You tell everyone to leave the room so you could have a moment with Loki. After some pondering, you decide to take a chance and kiss Loki. But you sprint out of the room before he wakes up. Will he figure out it was you? Only time will tell...

What’s the Cadet Squads version of a movie night? Like they’re all huddled in one of the Castle of Lions rooms? Not enough seats? Etc.
Debating on whether I could answer this without spoiling things for a bit, but remembered I already sort of showed it-
But there’s a reason this is in the header of the blog:

Patience. You’ll find out soon.

*waves hand* Miss. Singh over here! I’m a member of the Red Hot Racers Blog and I’d like to ask you some questions: How do you feel about the international appeal that Voltron brings to the drag racing industry? Families and fans of various ethnic backgrounds we’ve talked to have mentioned how great it is to see someone who looks like them flying on the tracks like that
Why hello!  You're quite kind to take an interest in our team!  To be honest, it's always been a part of me and who I am - I can't think of any place I'd rather be or anything else I'd rather be doing - and I'd want to encourage everyone to follow that same mentality, regardless of what that dream may be.  I'm absolutely honored that my presence in the industry can somehow help others feel inspired - and I hope I continue to do so and live up to their expectations.

I saw this on your Twitter and getting my hopes up: Is Narti alive!? She’s my favorite out of Lotor’s Generals!💙💜💙💜
Turns out there’s one more person who lived in the original S8 but was killed off in the edits. Mostly. She’s still there if you know where to look. ;)She was involved in the plotline involving Keith and Shiro that was removed. (Wow for some reason tumblr hasn’t been notifying me of new asks? Sorry about that!)

Okay but there’s a 99% chance that Yon Rogg will come back for the sequel. His story and relationship with Carol (Platonic mentor or romantic) was so open ended...Also that deleted scene better be re-edited for said sequel
I wouldn’t say it’s that high but it certainly would be a massive waste and missed opportunity to not use him again - not only because if you already have Jude Law you should also make the most out of him but also because Yon-Rogg is such a wonderful character (and the relationship between him and Carol is so unique).
I don’t know what you mean exactly by re-edit but you can actually let it stay a deleted scene just don’t let the SI kill him and you are good. Carol could learn about what Yon-Rogg actually did for her (not only what happened in the end but also that it was him who saved her life not that disgusting computer that judging by the deleted scene wasn’t thrilled at all about having Vers around) from someone else. Maybe the SI made his story public (he brought a Terran to Hala, used his sacred Kree blood to save her, endangered everyone by having her and her uncontrollable power around, fell in love with her which probably is the biggest crime, and then lost control of her, making her the biggest threat to the Empire) to not only to further humiliate him but also to give the common Kree a reason to hate their hero. No one even needs to tell her directly, she could overhear it somewhere, people talking about the infamous Yon-Rogg isn’t unrealistic, causing her to head wherever he was banished to (to work as a slave or whatever).

Ok but...I feel like VLD S7-8 would’ve been a bit more interesting (jeez what an understatement...) if they had framed it as a sort of redemption arc for Team Voltron themselves. They caused the invasion of Earth by leaving Lotor in the Rift and now they have to deal with the consequences. But nope, cause Heroes never make mistakes right?
I suppose focusing so tightly on Allura should have left some holes in my analysis, and you’re absolutely right! I wanted to focus on Allura exclusively since the Heroine’s Journey model is so new compared to the Hero’s Journey and it fits it just so friggin’ well. Honestly, it’s kinda mind-blowing to me that I never learned about it until this year but it’s such a fascinating story structure. Mostly I’ll be discussing s8 in this response because the edits made to 7 would have been done prior to production completion, and they primarily were focused on including the MFE pilots and removing Lotor’s sympathetic backstory and moving it to s8e2 “Shadows”.
I suppose my biggest hiccup with my meta is that I kinda sorta ignored the majority of the cast by focusing on Allura XD because you’re right, narratively it’s interesting to see the fallout but also it’s structurally necessary for the Paladins to face consequences of a situation they caused. That would be a part of not only Allura’s arc as a Heroine but the Paladins’ as heroes (regardless of whether they fit the Hero’s Journey monomyth), as well as contextually appropriate given how this is a Y-7 and generally kids’ shows are educational in some way. While we see Allura be conflicted about leaving Lotor in the Rift almost as soon as Keith gives the order to leave, the team and the rest of the Voltron Coalition continue to applaud it as a good decision, and then in the version of s8 on Netflix either tacks in Lotor as a “big bad guy we defeated” using cut-and-pasted dialogue or simply ignores him as a character. I imagine Team V’s redemption would have begun in earnest after Allura’s descent into the underworld and her returning with the knowledge that not only is Lotor alive but that he needs to be rescued.
Having the team be in the trenches of their mistake not only highlights Allura’s conflict within herself--after all, she effectively destroyed the part of herself that she was afraid to accept in the same stroke as seemingly-killing Lotor--but it also demonstrates how the team’s biggest mistake in this is that they didn’t stop and listen. Allura’s mental health is at stake here from the very start. She’s listless, she feels alone and isolated, and none of her friends seem to notice beyond telling her to take a night off work.
Lance, much as I love what he could’ve been, would have been critical to the turnaround necessary not only for Lotor to get his vindication/redemption, but also to trigger the necessary metamorphosis of Team V from heroes who failed a challenge into true Heroes who make things right and grow. Instead, in the s8 on Netflix, Lance fulfills the role of the ogre in Allura’s Heroine’s Journey, and seems to be more possessive of Allura in the latter half of the season, rather than being given the opportunity to become quite probably the first of the Paladins to actually back her up in the proposal to save Lotor. Tbh if anything I’d wager that when it’s time to step up to the plate in the original s8, Lance more than makes up for the nonsense of the first half of s8 and probably convinces Pidge next that it’s a good idea to save Lotor. And Pidge being crazy smart would pick up on all the strategic benefits that Allura might not have elaborated on, as well as the subtextual emotional motivation.
And the cool thing about this is that it would give Paladin Allura the opportunity to redeem herself to herself. Because she shut down emotionally when she left Lotor in the Rift. Lotor represented the side of her she feared, the emotional, the feminine tempering to his masculinity, and shutting him in the Rift meant she was also shutting herself away from her own emotions and ability to temper the path her father left for her. As an Animus, Lotor encourages balance to Allura internally, but if he’s gone then so is that balance, so taking the initiative to not only save Lotor but revive him would solve this problem twofold: she would be saving him and righting the wrong that Voltron committed, but she would also be taking that critical step and acknowledging, approaching, and bringing to light the things she might not have wanted to face before. By rescuing him and effectively asking his forgiveness, she’s also forgiving herself and able to take those steps forward to unify herself and the universe.
In turn, all these redemptions and salvations would culminate in the storming of the pyramid, which would be Allura’s Heroine’s Journey climax and the point where Team V as a whole really ascends back to herodom. I mean, one key thing to remember is that since Team V has all the protagonists and serve as our lens into this fantastical world of aliens and robots, so the redemption is pretty much inevitable, but that doesn’t change the fact that they would be righting a wrong and redeeming themselves. It’s just that we see it with heroes rather than antagonists. With “Shadows”, you’re really supposed to see Team V as bad at being good, at least where Lotor’s concerned, but by righting their own wrong it gives them the ability to then move forward and help Lotor and Allura have that final showdown with Honerva and fix the universe, but only after they’ve proven themselves worthy of the title of “heroes”.
And again: this is a Y-7. It’s geared towards kids as a general rule but like a lot of DreamWorks stuff, it’s generally considered a family show. Cool as literary sex metaphors and facing permanent consequences are, you can’t mentally scar kids for life. The heroes gotta do their thing, but the important thing is that they earn it. They’re not Prince Charming in a Disney film who happens to be in the right place at the right time, they’re Hiccup and Toothless, learning to work together and fighting for the right reasons even when the odds are stacked against them, and that the dragons aren’t bad by nature, but by circumstance, and that they’re just as much victims as the Berkians. It’s a show that handles big themes and big questions that little kids might not realize they’re asking yet, but it gives them the groundwork to understand things better as they grow older. To quote Peter Keefe, who worked on Defender of the Universe, "At the end of the day, it's not about who's the most powerful, who's the most brave or strong. It's more like, who has the biggest mind, and how open can your mind be, and how important a sense of humor is and how we shouldn't take ourselves very seriously. So if they walk away with a little bit of a lighter lilt to their step, that's what Voltron means. It means ‘have a heart, have a soul’ and of course it takes place in a wild and fanciful world, but that's what people take, I hope."

Princess Allura for the ask game
A song that reminds me of them: Staci Stasis - Zombina & the Skeletones (just for fun)
What they smell like: Something floral and cirtrusy
An OTP: Lotura, obviously
A NOTP: All of them except Lotura tbh, but Allurance in particular
Favorite platonic/familial relationships: Coran!!
Position they sleep in: totally a side/stomach sleeper
Crossover AU I’d love to see with them: Maybe DOTU? I’ve seen one with Lotor but not Allura
Favourite outfit they’ve worn: Her canon outfits are pretty meh. Allow me to be lame and say the sparkly dress she wore in the first chapter of my own fic (KYE). :v
character ask game!

This might be a sensitive topic for you but...would you still care for and help Credence even though he isn’t your brother?
“Yes.” Leta didn’t hesitate to answer, though her eyes and body trembled slightly in sadness at thought of the boy. “I am both the reason he’s alive and the reason he had suffered so. It is my duty. It is what I owe.”
And I wish he was my brother. More than anything.

Hey, I’m writing a superhero story and I have a question about characterization: Can a character be hyper masculine (a real badass who takes crap from no one) and also be hyper feminine (kick ass and look amazing while doing it)? Or is it too unrealistic?
No! You totally don’t have to be masculine to be badass or take crap from no one anyway! just don’t make the armour/suit super revealing to the point where it doesn’t serve its purpose anymore. Make sure the masculine and feminine mannerisms don’t conflict with each other or change the character’s personality and it should be fine. Hope this Helped!

Imagine Loki trying to throw you a surprise birthday party. He has balloons, banners, streamers the whole shebang. When the time comes for him to surprise you; you simply shrug it off thinking it’s for someone else.
Hurt, he demands to know why your not grateful. You explain to him that you’ve stopped having parties when you were eight because your friends ditched you with the excuse of doing something else.

Didn’t you do fanart of a Reylo fanfic? I think it was a Dr Zhivago AU or something? It was like Rey as a seamstress with Kylo looking smugly at her
Indeed I did! It was for Poor Queequeg’s genius pre-revolutionary Russia AU, The Girl on the Stairs. PQ elevates bodice-ripping literature to a pure art form, but the fic is not currently online as per the wishes of the author.
However, here are the sketches I made from the fic. Link and link

Who’s your fave Voltron character to draw?
Allura is probably my fave to draw. Not only do I just like her character design in general, but she’s an instance where something about her design feels very natural and relaxing to draw. When I’m sketching, I tend to have an easy time with her just because there’s a natural… I dunno, softness I lean towards when drawing her I guess? I’m not sure how to explain why specifically.
The best comparison I could use to explain it is with the difference in her and Lotor when I draw them. I love drawing Lotor both because I like his design and he’s probably my favorite character, but he’s much more challenging for me sometimes. His features and much sharper and defined, there’s a lot of detail in things like his armor, and I really have to nail certain aspects to make sure he looks consistent. He’s a character where if you get something close but not quite there, you can tell very easily - at least for me.
In contrast, Allura feels very natural and it doesn’t take a lot to nail her expressions or outfit or anything overall. Once I start on her I have very little trouble with her  outside of general things like posing or making sure anatomy is overall accurate. It might just be that I have an easier time with much rounder, softer character designs than ones that require more sharp angles or bulk to them.
That and something about drawing her always sort of ends up oozing positive vibes when working on posts or just doodling. I tend to draw her in a lot of happy, excited poses and expressions and the energy just carries over somehow.

Submitted by @beautifulmonsterseverywhere 🎼 NE-YO - Never Knew I Needed 🎤 I think it’s even cuter that this song is from a Disney princess movie. But truly, I feel like this is how DCEU Diana could she Diana. I get so many requests of WonderBat fanfics at Disney World and I feel like this song should appear in one of them! This is all about Bruce not knowing what he has with Diana, but having her close fills him with such joy, and it’s nice to have a happier take on such emotions.

Now that Death in the Nile is confirmed, do you have any actors in mind that you want to see play the characters? I️ personally want to see Tom Hiddleston in one of these movies (he’s close friends with Kenneth Branagh) but that’s just me
Hello! Ken does like casting people he’s worked with before,so I get you there. :D I think Tom would be a good choice! Which role did you have in mind for him for Death on the Nile? That of Simon Doyle who was played by JJ Feild in the Suchet version? Or the James Ferguson character? Or maybe a more unexpected casting, forPoirot’s friend, Colonel Race himself? He’s the “Hastings” character and has a similar role to that of Bouc (Tom Bateman) from Murder on the Orient Express. (I’ve also been speculating whether Ken would cast Captain Hastings instead of Colonel Race. It would go heavily against canon though!)
Tom may be too young to play Colonel Race but there are several other possible roles for him, or for young actors of his caliber. We don’t know about the age range of the casting or how close the characters will be to canon. Same with their nationalities and races and whether Ken will use all the suspects or combine certain names. It’s why It’s hard to do this fancast and why I’m only listing a few of the characters. :) I’d need an extra week or two to really think about them all.
For Linnet Ridgeway I’d like to see someone like Rosamund Pike or Hayley Atwell. Brie Larson? It’s a tough one. Others suggested Jennifer Lawrence and Margot Robbie. In the Suchet version they cast Emily Blunt.
I think a lot of actors could play Simon Doyle, it’s Linnet that is trickier for me to decide on. Maybe Chris Pine for Simon? Oscar Isaac? Dan Stevens? Perhaps someone you wouldn’t think of first. Tom Hardy? A newcomer?
Jacqueline De Bellefort could be Saoirse Ronan, Bryce Dallas Howard, Felicity Jones, Carey Mulligan, Lily James.
Helen Mirren, Maggie Smith, Julie Andrews, Meryl Streep as Mrs.Van Schuyler.
For the fun role of Mrs. Salome Otterbourne, maybe the same actresses as mentioned above for Mrs. Van Schuyler? Also Susan Sarandon and Jane Fonda. Or Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett, depending on the age range they’re going with.
Tilda Swinton, Catherine Tate, Jessica Chastain for Miss Bowers.
John Rhys-Davies, James Nesbittfor Colonel Race. I’m still thinking of more names. Ken could end up casting someone very unexpected. It’s one of the roles I’m most curious about. Colin Firth?
For Dr. Bessner, Colin Firth (again, surprise casting), Hugo Weaving, Rowan Atkinson, Sam Neill, Jason Isaacs.
Rooney Mara, Felicity Jones (again), Christina Ricci for Louise Bourget.
So many names! I’ve no idea what my ideal casting would be, tbh. In a week the list could be completely different. I might post a tighter one in the future.
Sorry I couldn’t be more specific and thank you for the great ask! :)
