I have written a poem for bbc's merlin. I was filled with merthur feelings lmao. Dont mind me, i am not a poet nor is englisch my first langague
Enjoy. Or else.
It's an empty hall, full of people
An empty throne for just one knight
Warmth spreads through the sheets
A bed not used in ages
Moon and Sun and Jupiter
No one reaches the magicians hand
A sky full of fire and light and
The night is still lonely
Who can teach the knight how to be brave?
Who teaches the magician to weave?
Secrets taste like cheap wine
Lightning on a tongue, desperate to be shared
Fate has brought them here and fate will rip them apart
All of the world has seen their eyes
The looks, the hands, the anticipation
A magic no one can alter, no one can make
Weaved in their bones and gold
Silver words and dark blue looks
Carved in the wood and stone is fate
Where no one comes and no one goes
It's an empty life, hiding in plain sight
A secret no one could understand
It's a gift beyond the stars
A world best kept hidden
The road they take is laid out
Every step a splash of ink
No one knows the knights touch like him
And still the magician can only watch
If the knight is breathing, so is the magician
And if the knight is burning, so will the magician
But the magician keeps breathing
Drawing air like the knight his sword
Wandering all these empty halls
Sitting on an empty throne
Made of oak and gold and blood
The magician has seen them all
Knights and kings and queens
And peasents and maidens and servants
Daughters and sons and parents
They all are buried while he is breathing

Reading magic reveal fics from the Merlin fandom Is funny to me because Merlin always says something like- “I only used my magic for you!” “My magic only exists to serve you!” Ect. Ect.
But I feel like that completely skips over the fact MERLIN USES MAGIC JUST TO BE GOOFY ALL THE TIME- LIKE-
…. Also his first ever time using magic near near Arthur was to literally fight him and prove a point… which he lost technically
I JUST FEEL LIKE IT WOULD BE COOLER IF HES MORE LIKE “yeah I use magic fuck off. I’m not hurting anyone. At least- not anyone that doesn’t deserve it.” Y’know? Instead of technically lying AGAIN by saying he ONLY uses it for Arthur. Because that’s just not true 😭
