Captain - Bazz x reader (18+)
Tumblr media
“NSFW but do you feel like Bazz would enjoy being called “Captain” in bed or would that accidentally set the man into work-mode lmao” - @rocklover719
this is very obviously an 18+ post, so... view at your own risk (minors dni with this one)
oh my god i am cACKLING!!!!!! this man would be in so much shock, but... i think it would boost his ego for sure ;)
enjoy, my sweet friend <3
y/n - your name tw: ‘adult’ content (obviously)
it seems Bazz finally has some free time
and he’s spending that time exactly how he should…
lounging around with you
he’s a different person when he’s off duty
he’s softer
relaxed even
he lustfully eyes you as you sit next to him, pulling you in to lay on his chest
his heart beats in your ear
and it feels like home
“Oh, how I’ve missed spending this much time with you.”
his hand reaches for your inner thigh
and you can feel the heat rising in your face
Bazz chuckles as he watches you blush
“Does someone like that?”
he places slow, soft kisses all over your face
you can feel his smile against your cheek
and wow does it make you feel good
“Y/n?”
“Hmm?”
his breathing grows heavier
“If I carry you, would you—”
and you nod before he can finish his question
he’s quick on his feet
he swoops you up in his arms and practically runs to the bedroom
and you’re giggling with glee
Bazz gently lays you down, hovering over you with anticipation
“Do you know just how badly I want you, my darling?”
you nod
“Are you sure about that?”
“Yes, Captain.”
he’s shocked by your comment
and you can’t help but to snicker as he takes a step back, eyes wide open
“Y/n!”
“What?”
he purses his lips together
and you can see the pink tint on his cheeks deepening color
the man is trying so hard to hold himself together
“I— that was—”
he exhales deeply
“I’m sorry. That REALLY caught me off guard. But um… I did quite… like that.”
“Oh?”
Bazz looks a little embarrassed after confessing
but he nods with a shy smile
“Well, I’ll be sure to remember that… Captain.”
you give him a wink
and that sends him so far over the moon
he’s desperate for you
“Y/n?”
“Yes?”
he leans back in, pressing himself into you
he’s looking at you with so much desire
with such hunger
“Mind if I... do a quick survey?”

Bazz's captain office, that I finally sketched out and properly planned, after at least two years of rotating it in my brain.
Bazz doesn't have many personal belongings or hobbies besides *trying to make sure the Domain survives another day*, so the decor is pretty sparse. He dragged in a whole rack of spears and other never-to-be-used weaponry from the armory just to cover up the depressingly bare walls...

Hiya, May I requested for Sidon with a female hylian S/o when he was arranged marriage to Yona cause Him and S/o sadly force to breakup and the S/o leave the Zora Domain. Here the twist the S/o shocked to discover days later she's pregnant with his child but scared to tell him worrying how his father, Zoras, Muzu (Especially Muzu) reacts. So she decides to keep it to herself.
Before the events of TOTK Sidon and Yona not married yet. A traveler came to visit the domain to tell a story of seeing a hylian woman playing with a baby half zora/ hylian in the water of lurelin village.
(Ooh! This is a very interesting idea! I'd love to write this! We'll see how this goes! I hope it turned out okay!)
"Unexpected"
Tumblr media
You were in a small hut with a doctor sitting before you. It was beyond humid outside with the temperatures scalding the air. The sun still found a way to pierce its heat inside the room. Your eyes stared at the doctor with pure apprehension.
"After our tests, we confirm that you are indeed pregnant Ms (Y/n). Congratulations!" The doctor stated with a firm tone, adjusting her glasses.
"Oh." You responded, not knowing what to say. Your (e/c) eyes stared at the floor, they reflected hundreds of emotions that went through your mind.
"You seem nervous, it is a natural feeling to experience! Have you told your husband about the news?" The doctor tried to ease your worries after noticing your body language. You then looked up at her, fear immediately piercing into your veins. You haven't even considered the idea of even telling Sidon. You left Zora's Domain originally finding out about Sidon getting engaged with Lady Yona, both of you were forced to break up. It had only been a week since you left. Now hearing your suspicions about being pregnant were true, it felt even more like a stab. You didn't even think it would be possible to become pregnant by a Zora since you were a Hylian. However, there you were. How would Sidon even react to hearing this? How would his father, the King of The Zora himself respond? What terrified you the most was how Muzu would react. Even after Calamity Ganon, Muzu was still skeptical about hylians. You sighed looking at the doctor.
"Um... It's complicated. I don't have a husband." You stated in a quiet tone still obviously nervous. The doctor soon slowly nodded giving you an empathetic look.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed. Well, I wish you luck for your pregnancy!" She stated, patting me on the back. After you had left the doctor's office it wasn't too long after you had settled down in Lurelin Village. You decided it'd be the best place for you and the baby. It was a small closed off village, far from Zora's Domain. You wouldn't have to worry about anyone finding out. It was also a perfect place for a Zora-Hylian hybrid to be. There was plenty of water for their Zora side, and plenty of Hylians around for them to interact with in the future.
P.O.V Change to Sidon
Two years had gone by since I had seen (Y/n). I kept busy steering my mind clear of her. I busied myself with Princely duties and kept Zora's Domain in check. An older couple had made their way into the domain and they seemed to be talking with each other. They were simply tourists, however it wasn't long before they were surrounded by quite a few Zora. One of my guards approached me. It was none other than the captain of the guard, Bazz. He had lightly tapped my shoulder.
"Your Highness, you probably want to come hear this..." I had looked over to Bazz giving a firm nod, approaching the couple. I finally was within earshot of the two older hylians.
"Yeah, the baby was out by the water playing with their mother. I was worried for a moment before I realized it was part Zora. In all of my years, I had never encountered something half Hylian and half Zora. It is simply unheard of." The older man stated. Another voice chimed in.
"The baby kind of looked like that big Zora over there!" An older woman stated, pointing at me. All of the Zora surrounding the couple immediately turned to me. My golden eyes had widened in shock. A... Baby?!
"It couldn't be..." I muttered softly to myself, lost in thought. One of the Zora approached me, immediately grabbing me by the wrist dragging me away from the crowd who went back to listening to the couple. It was Muzu, he looked skeptical.
"You have to go investigate this yourself immediately and dismiss whatever story that these Hylians are making up. I doubt there's even a child. However if it's real and if it's yours do you have any idea what that means?" Muzu yelled out, looking up at me. I only continued to stare in silence, stunned. Was it even possible? Muzu was quick to continue in the absence of my voice. "It means that you must immediately bring the mother and child back with you and we will have to have a royal meeting about what to do next! Now hurry up and get going!" He stated clearly angry and annoyed, shooing me off. I quickly nodded, immediately making my way out of the Domain and to Lurelin Village.
P.O.V Back to Yourself
You were sitting in the water with your half Zora half Hylian child, holding them up in the water as she/he giggled looking up at you splashing small droplets of water. You smiled softly at your baby before she/he pointed to something.
"Da! Da!" The baby called out, you looked surprised but then shook your head.
"No! Me mama!" You said pointing to yourself, however you noticed your baby wasn't looking at you. You turn your head to see the love of your life you haven't seen in almost two years. Your mouth immediately drops. Sidon hadn't reacted yet, his eyes were fixated on the baby you were now cradling in your arms. He slowly took a few steps to you, then crouched down looking closely at the baby, holding the baby's small hands in his. The minute he made eye contact with her/him he immediately knew it was his. Tears started forming in his eyes, as he slowly took the baby from you, cradling the small baby in his large hands. He had the biggest smile on his face seeing his own child. A minute had gone by before he finally looked down at you, his smile fading.
"Why didn't you tell me..?" He asked softly, almost comforting yet also with a hint of pain. You only looked at him with sad eyes, still shocked seeing him.
"How did you even find me?" You returned his question with one yourself. Sidon sighed, returning the baby back to you before the both of you stood up.
"Word tends to get around fast." He replied bluntly, he then rested his larger hand onto your cheek. "Please come back to Zora's Domain with me so we can figure this out together." He pleaded. You were quick to shake your head.
"Sidon... I already have built a life here with the baby... I... I can't face your father with this! You're also probably married by now! I don't want to make things weird" You said with a sad look, he then returned the same look to you.
"(Y/n)... I can't bring myself to understand hard it is, I can't believe you kept yourself hidden away for so long. However, I do know that I still love you. I never wanted us to break up... However, you have to come back to the Domain." He affirmed pulling his hand away.
"What about Lady Yona?" You quickly responded worried. Sidon was surprised by your urgency but then his eyes widened.
"Wait... Now that you are with my child, I can probably call off the engagement. The baby would immediately be the next heir to the throne after me as the child counts as my first born. He then smiled brightly at you and the child. "We'll make this work!" You then finally nodded in agreement.
"Alright... I'll go back with you." You said and his smile grew wider.
After the two of you got back, there was a meeting that immediately went into effect. Due to the baby being Sidon's, Lady Yona and Sidon called off the wedding and engagement. Soon enough the both of you were engaged not too long after to soon be married with your guy's baby who was soon to turn two years old. Most of the Zoras were accepting of you and the baby, however some of the older Zoras were not too happy about it. However, that didn't matter to either of you.

Was I going to miss Zora May day one? Nope!
Zora May is hosted by @prisiidon , and this prompt was "Yona's Domain"!
Link and Sidon were just enjoying life, until Yona ran in with a letter in her hands.
“Link! Sidon! My father caught wind of you two and asked if both of you would like to see my domain!”
This caught the two men off guard a little. How did Yona's father find out about them? It didn't really matter however, as now they got an excuse to go traveling!
“Sure, I don't really mind,” Link said, a small smile on his cute face.
“I must agree with Link, Yona. I'm perfectly fine with going to meet your father. I will just need to find someone to handle the kingdom while we're gone,” Sidon responded.
“Don't worry, Sidon! I already have all of that covered! Laflat will take over registrar duties, Rivan will take over as head guard, your father will temporarily take over king responsibilities, and Bazz will be our personal guard!” Yona announced with a smile.
“Thank you, Yona. Sometimes I'm glad that I was married to someone who is so on top of everything, though I'm glad that we are still platonic friends,” Sidon responded.
With all that said and done, the three Zora and single Hylian set off to go to Yona's home domain.
They eventually made it to Ankel Island in Akkala after a long walk. There was a boat in the water beneath the island, as swimming can be quite taxing on a Zora body. Link held on tightly to Sidon's back, and the three Zora lept from the ground into the water. Link chuckled a bit once Sidon surfaced, but the four got into the boat without trouble. The four of them were in for a long journey, but it was worth it.
The days surprisingly went by relatively fast for the four friends. Link spent his free time bird watching or making out with Sidon, Bazz spent his free time fishing or laughing his ass off with his friends, Yona spent her time viewing the beautiful ocean, and Sidon spent his time making out with Link and flirting with his Hylian.
After a few days went by, the four eventually arrived at Yona's Domain. The place was beautiful; a colourful coral reef with a few simple-yet-beautiful houses on the beach right next to the reef. The place was almost like the Luralin Village's beaches—yet they were somehow prettier. The boat couldn't land on the beaches—as there was coral in the way—but Sidon, Yona, and Bazz just swam the rest of the way. One of the perks of being a Zora's boyfriend is that you get free rides, so Link didn't have to swim!
Once the four were there, they got to go exploring! Or at least that's what Link wanted, but his boyfriend and Yona were more concerned with royal stuff. Oh to be a free spirit like Link; wanting to do whatever bullshit came to mind right then and there. The champion could handle boring stuff like meetings if it was for Sidon, though. The four then had to go to the King's palace, which was relatively easy all things considered.
Once they got there, Link, Sidon, and Bazz all bowed for the king.
“You two must be King Sidon and Sir Link, hm? It's nice to meet you! I am King Fasolla, Yona's father. Now uh… who is the lad dressed up in full armor?”
“Oh, that's Captain Bazz! He's our personal knight for this trip, Sir,” Sidon responded.
“Well it's nice to meet you, Bazz!” The King said.
“Likewise, King Fasolla,” Bazz responded, slightly disinterested.
“Now,” King Fasolla started, noticing that Link hadn't said a single word, “Can you please say something, Sir Link? Even a ‘Hello’ would be fine.”
Link got visibly uncomfortable at this, and all he did was sign a quick “Hi,” to the king.
“Oh uh, don't worry father! Link isn't that much of a conversationalist! He's extremely sweet though!” Yona said, trying to take the spotlight from Link onto herself.
“Well that's… fine I suppose. As long as he doesn't destroy the Domain everything should be perfect! Now you four can go about your day, I won't take up any more of your time.”
Link quickly hurried out of the palace, Sidon and Yona right behind him. Once the three Zora caught up with Link, they could tell that there was something about Link that made him on edge.
“Is everything okay, Link? Did my father make you uncomfortable?” Yona asked.
“Yeah,” Link started signing, “I just didn't really wanna talk to him, because I just met him. The way he asked for me to talk was just weird.”
“I promise that he has good intentions, Link. He's just bad with words at times… and isn't the most accepting towards anyone who isn't heterosexual or cisgender.”
Link instantly got a bit sad at this confession from Yona, though he wasn't going to let something as small as a homophobic King stop him from having a good time. Link quickly ran off to start seeing the sights of the domain, with Sidon almost tripping over his own feet as Link drug him along. Bazz and Yona followed them as well, though they only ran to catch up with the two star-crossed lovers. They quickly found Link climbing a tree, with Sidon face-palming with how crazy he can be. Sidon can deal with Link, however, as the knight is his lover and he's gotten used to his antics at this point.
Eventually, after a long day of adventures, the moon was rising and they had to go to sleep. Sidon, Yona, and Bazz found a nice pool to sleep in, and Link was fine with it as well. Yona and Bazz decided to sleep in the deep end of the pool, while Sidon and Link opted to sleep in the more shallow section of it. Once Yona and Bazz were slumbering, Link wrapped Sidon into a big hug and started to cuddle with him. Link quickly nuzzled his head into Sidon's chest, and Sidon gently rested his hand on the Hylian's head.
Sidon's been through this routine many times: Link hugs him tightly and nuzzles into his chest, cuddles as close as he can to him, and bites his arm just because he wants to. Even so, Sidon can't help but smile, as Link was too adorable for this world. When Link's being cute, he can easily melt someone's heart into a puddle, though Sidon was resilient enough to just fawn over the champion by his side instead of simping over him. Link then decided to kick that cuteness into overdrive, and he started to poke and prod at Sidon's face with a smile on his face.
Sidon let out a light chuckle and said, “My Goddesses, I love you so much, Link.”
“I love you too, you cute shark.”
And then, after a bit, Link finally drifted off to dreamland. Sidon was left there to stare into the sky, just thinking about his future with Link, and about how he desperately wanted to marry this man. Kings need to sleep too, though, and he eventually fell asleep as he snuggled the man whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
The next day was going to be just as eventful as this one, but that could be millions of years to Sidon. He's just happy to sleep here with Link, Bazz, and Yona.

#15 for Bazz, if I may? Captain of the Guard is a job that requires a dominant Zora, after all *insert winky face here*
FDJKL TEE-HEE
Send me prompts from THIS list!
"Arch that ass up," He snarled, pinning her shoulder to the ground as he notched up against her hole. "That's an order."
Y/N shivered and did as commanded, moaning happily when he finally slid into her. His second cock rubbed against her clit as he fucked her, spanking her and snarling obscenities.
She knew it was a vent of frustration but she was so happy this was how he chose to do it. She couldn't wait until he had another bad day. Maybe she could convince him to fill her up with his load and try breeding her.

maybe i do: ch 2 messy hair and stolen glances
read ch 1 here ♡ read ch 3 here
Link was escorted into the throne room by Rivan and another Zora guard who pushed open the massive pearl and lapis lazuli encrusted doors. Link picked up on the shock that echoed through the room, here he was in all his abysmally pathetic glory. There was a new figure sitting to the side of who he recalled was Prince– no King Sidon. There was a foreign feeling in Link’s chest, though he couldn’t place the emotion.
He stood up from his formal bow after the guards had announced him, after the formalities he was gonna crash so hard. There was nothing that drained him more than being around people, acting formal and composed, and being asked about his “adventures” and gushing about what a great hero and person he was. He wasn’t either of those things. He was rash, abrasive, selfish and an overall mess all of which he had to hide from the entirety of Hyrule. Not even Zelda had known the full extent of these feelings, even with her he felt an obligation to act like a different person despite how comfortable around her he felt. The truest emotions and the oh so heavy guilt he felt for all the death and loss he had caused were nestled deep within his psyche far far from anyone to see. He was the chosen hero of the Goddesses, the savior of Hyrule, and the one who had conquered Calamity Ganon. All of this was either a lie or the truth stretched so far they were basically lies too.
He snapped back to reality at the sound of an orchestra beginning to play. Oh, the banquet had started and somehow he had been so consumed by his wallowing in self pity he had been running on autopilot thanks to the amount of events he had been forced to attend with Zelda. He was also somehow mid conversation with Bazz, the captain of the Zora guard.
“... and then King Sidon had burst through the doors drunk as all hell! I don’t think he’s ever going to recover from the embarrassment of completely interrupting his father’s council meeting after attending a party hosted by my guards.” Bazz choked back laughter in order to mostly retain his composure at this formal banquet.
Sidon had looked up from his meal quickly glancing over at the mention of his name. He furrowed his brow at Link’s apparent blank, spaced out expression which Link quickly cleared and composed himself, setting his face to his usual stoic yet semi pleasant look as quickly as possible. He stared at his plate and picked at the food, his usual hearty appetite was replaced by a sickening feeling in his stomach, he needed to clear his head as soon as possible. Somehow he zoned out yet again and magically everyone began clearing the hall signaling the banquet is wrapping up for the night.
Link slinked his way out of the building and headed as swiftly as he could to his favorite spot in the Domain, the Veiled Falls. The fierce but somehow gentle roar of the falls lulled the disturbing thoughts that rattled around in his brain every waking hour. He sat down on the edge of the pond the falls fed into, pulling off his boots and socks and stuck his feet in the cold water. Despite it nearing fall the air was still warm and sweet after the sun had set. Watching the fireflies dance and bob through the air, his mind calmed. This, this is what he loved about Lanayru: the fresh air that smelled and felt different from anywhere in Hyrule. Absolutely nothing could compare. He sat there for a few hours, letting the spray from the falls douse his messy hair and his feet go numb from the frigid water. Boots in hand, he trudged back to the guest room that had been prepared for him. The room was small, he had specifically requested the smallest room that was tailored for non-Zora guests who couldn’t use the sleeping pools. He threw his boots in the corner with the rest of his belongings and went to take a much needed bath.
⟡ ⟡ ⟡
He woke up to the sun burning his retinas as soon as he opened his eyes, clearly he had forgotten to undo the curtains. The bed was surprisingly comfy for being as hard as it looked. Wanting a few more moments in a real bed, which he hadn’t slept in for several days he pulled the comforter over his head and dozed off again. That was until there was a brisk knock at the door. He grumbled internally and heaved himself up out of bed. Whoever was waiting outside was very impatient as there was another brisk knock. Link scurried to the door not bothering to smooth his wild bed head or throw on more presentable clothes, he typically dressed in his most ragged clothes not wanting to throw out clothing that was still technically functional. He opened the door just enough to see who was outside, fucking Goddesses help me of course it’s the Zora king. Sidon waved, seemingly unbothered by Link’s severely unkempt appearance.
“Greetings dear friend! I just wanted to personally invite you to breakfast and make sure you were doing well. I had noticed you looked a bit out of sorts last night. If you need to talk about anything I’m here as your friend as a shoulder to cry on so to speak.” Sidon absentmindedly rubbed the back of his neck, his head tail swaying slightly.
Link wiped the puzzled look off his face quickly, he had no idea the King thought they were so close. He didn’t remember visiting the Domain that often, perhaps Sidon just got easily attached? Regardless of the reason why there was definitely something Link was not aware of. Mentally shrugging off the thought he nodded before signing to Sidon, “Let me get a little more presentable. I’ll meet you in the dining hall? I think I remember where that is.”
“Actually, my family and I have invited you to our personal dining area for a more secluded breakfast. I remember you not liking the attention from the masses. I’ll wait here and escort you if you would be so willing for me to do so.”
With a hesitant nod, Link spun around and closed the door to scrape himself together for a breakfast with the Royal family. Link took the fastest bath of his life and furiously scrubbed his travels off his body. Despite having managed to bathe last night he still felt too unkempt to be in the presence of royalty again. He rifled through his belongings, looking for something decent to wear. All of his nicer clothes he had ditched back in his old house in Hateno, the memories of him being forced to wear Hylian regalia while serving Zelda and the Hylian Royal Guard was too painful not to mention a waste of space and weight on his near constant travels across Hyrule. The best he had was his champion’s tunic and a somewhat ragged pair of trousers. Good enough. Hoping he hadn’t taken an outrageous amount of time, Link slid out the door and was greeted by Sidon who didn’t seem at all bothered waiting for Link to get ready.
“Well shall we?” Sidon motioned for Link to walk by his side and they took a path Link had never seen before. The walls were etched in Zora writings accompanied by simplistic drawings of historical events. Link stopped when he noticed the familiar symbol of the Triforce and the Master Sword resting in wait.
“This is the Calamity isn’t it?” Link signed in awe of the sheer size of the depiction of one of Hyrule’s greatest tragedies, one that he had lived through and caused. His ears drooped ever so slightly, the waves of negative emotions rushing back with more force than a tsunami. He hesitated before tracing a finger over the Triforce. So much for embodying the Triforce of Courage. Fucking coward. He looked up at Sidon who had been hovering just behind Link, patiently waiting for Link to continue moving. The king was staring at something, in Link’s direction… his hand shot up towards his hair. Fuck. In Link’s frenzy getting ready earlier he hadn’t really bothered brushing or even finger combing his hair instead opting for a frantic towel dry and rushing out the door. What a disastrous mess he must look like.
Link heard Sidon muttering something about Link and wavy hair? He chose to ignore this, not wanting to think about the Zora KING judging his appearance. Instead, Link turned away from the wall of pictographs. At this point they were close enough to the Royal family’s personal dining hall Link could hear the King-Father Dorephan’s bellowing laughter echoed through the empty marbled halls. He and Sidon walked the remaining paces and entered the much smaller than expected room. Dorephan’s eyes lit up at the sight of his son accompanied by Hyrule’s hero.
“Welcome dear Hero Link!” Dorephan motioned to an empty seat already laid out with two or three courses of breakfast. While Link’s stomach grumbled quite audibly he still hesitated to begin eating until he felt expectant eyes from several people. His insides churned from the oncoming spurt of anxiety, but forced himself to take a bite of salmon which was buttery soft and seemed to melt in his mouth as he chewed. Instantly, he relaxed a little bit and as politely as possible began to shovel food in his mouth. He took another bite of  the grilled salmon and pondered if the taste rivaled his own to which he couldn’t decide and simply finished off what was left on his plate.
The breakfast conversations were polite but very light in substance. Mid-bite Link glanced up at Sidon chatting away with a green manta-type Zora, who wore a silver circlet on her head encrusted with sapphires. The royal gemstone. For some reason which Link hadn’t quite figured out, he choked on his bite of food and tried to play off the coughing fit that had sent him into by chugging his goblet of water.
“Hero Link! Are you alright?” The green Zora exclaimed, reaching to the center of the table for the water pitcher which she quickly passed to him. Link gratefully refilled the cup and chugged yet another goblet of water finally regaining his composure. Her face was laced with what Link could tell was genuine concern. To which Link chalked up to if the hero of all of fucking Hyrule had asphyxiated in the presence of the Zora royal family surely public relations with the other peoples wouldn’t be good.
The rest of breakfast passed by without many other incidents. As Link was beginning to exit into the hall Sidon beckoned Link over to where he and the green Zora stood. “Link! I would like to formally introduce you to Queen Yona, my newlywed wife! We just recently got back from our honeymoon trip to Lake Hylia.
The ringing in Link’s ears became deafening, but again why? He thought he barely knew the Prince, no, King. Link reminded himself again of that fact, just another sign that the world was changing and leaving Link far, far in the past. Link snapped himself back to the present just in time for the weight of Queen Yona and King Sidon’s expectant looks honed in on him.
“Congrats! I had no idea you two were even engaged let alone married or I would’ve sent a wedding gift.” His hands fumbled through the signs, giving the couple a feeble smile of congratulations.
Sidon smiled, “Why just knowing all of Hyrule is safe within your hands is enough of a present for the both of us. Peace truly is a gift that couldn’t be more treasured.”
Yona politely excused herself, explaining that there were some other tasks that required her attention but she would see them again at dinner if Link was so inclined to join the family again. She gave Sidon a gentle pat on the shoulder before leaving them completely alone in the dining hall.
“I just so happen to have been given the all clear on my schedule for the day so I can show you around and spend some time outside of my duties. Would you like to join me?”
Link cautiously nodded, mentally shrugging. It seemed like a quiet retreat in the more secluded sections of Lanayru would be more than impossible at this point. It was whatever, he told himself, it’s not like this would be the end of the great hero of Hyrule. Maybe this would end up being good for him.

zora may 8 - yona's domain + accessorize
226 words, set about four years after ToTK. Ororo is seeing things that she might be reading too much into.
A sunnier environment is not that conducive to one who cannot see in direct sunlight. Even in her Zora form, Lady Camza is struggling to see anything as we visit our tropical allies of Lady Yona's home.
Bazz is staying right at her side. Letting our queen hold his arm as she struggles. King Sidon speaks with the leaders of this domain. I would be documenting what's said, but they insist I stay outside. So instead, I find myself watching our Queen and Guard Captain.
I’m not certain of what words to use to describe how he acts around her. I’m not sure if it’s proper for a queen to have her hands on the captain the way she does. And it does not escape me that part of the regalia the captain wears- the new set created for him for these political journeys- bears the emblem of the Mirror, as well as our people. I understand that this is meant to symbolize the relationship between our kingdoms. Perhaps I am reading too much into this.
Forgive the speculation, but I believe I saw him smile just now. Looking at our Queen as Lady Yona places a pair of sun-tinted goggles on her. It allows her to see a bit better. It does look nice, but… It must be my imagination. Surely there is nothing untoward.

“Boss, I’m back, goro!” Yunobo cried, running ahead of the group. “These guys saved me, they even worked out how your cannons work! And, goro, you’re never gonna believe this: they’re princes! And knights! Two princes and two knights!”
“Eh!?” Bludo gaped at them, sitting up unsteadily. Yunobo handed him the medicine (a black, tar-like substance) and Bludo gulped it down. “You’re what?”
Bazz stepped forward and took the lead. In true Captain of the Guard fashion, he held his spear and stood at attention.
“Hello, Boss Bludo,” he said formally. “It is a true honour to meet you. I am Bazz, Captain of the Guard and this is my dear friend and colleague, Knight Rivan. These two young men are Crown Prince Sidon of the Zora, and Prince Link.” He glanced at Yunobo almost guiltily and added, “He is the widower of our beloved Princess Mipha, the Zora Champion.”
“Aw, goro, I’m so sorry,” Yunobo said to Link. Then, as Bludo loudly swore, Bazz’s words seemed to sink in for Yunobo.
“Zora…Champion?” he repeated weakly. “But- but, goro! That would mean you’re-!”
“Hylia’s Chosen,” Bludo said, eyes wide. “The Hylian Champion.”
*
Link and the Zora meet Yunobo, descendent of Daruk. With Rudania still out of control, they must act quickly to protect Goron City.

Hours later, the dim rays of the sunrise are what awake you. Your eyes flutter as you get a hold of your bearings, adjusting to the light filtering in through the arched window. Flexing your fingers, you run your palm over something smooth and firm- only to realize you’re leaning against someone’s chest.
The someone more specifically being the currently asleep prince of the Zora.
Your cheeks warm as you think back to the previous evening. Spending the night in the prince’s chambers, the two of you had stayed up well into the hours of twilight keeping each other company, sharing kisses and whispers of affection while bundled up together. You’d fallen asleep in his arms, dozing off while pressed flush against his chest.
Interestingly, it was the safest you’d felt in quite some time. Snugly secure in the prince’s arms. You’d be damned if it wasn’t how you’d want to spend every night for the rest of your life.
Gazing up at the Zora in question now, you smiled softly looking at his sleeping form. His chest raised and lowered slowly as he slumbered away, his lips quirked up in the faintest of smiles.
Carefully, you move out of his grasp, wiggling out of the cushioned seating area you’d used as a bed. Stretching your legs momentarily, you use this time to curiously look around the prince’s room.
His desk is relatively neat, aside from the stray piece of parchment paper, with a rather fancy looking quill and ink pot at the prince’s disposal for whatever letters he’d have to pen or diplomatic papers to sign. The pool of water appeared relatively undisturbed, and cleaned, you assumed the servant’s had picked up any odd items that’d been left strewn about when you’d been called to see the council yesterday.
With a sigh, you pick up your silver armband that the prince had gifted you all those weeks ago and smile, twirling it in your fingers as you waltz over to one of the tall windows. Looking out, you can’t help but admire Zora’s domain at dawn.
The cliffs and mountains of the upperlands are lit up by the rising sun of the east, and the outcrops of luminous stones in the hillsides reflect the sunbeams brightly, casting light in patterns only nature itself could design. The lake the palace is built in trickles calmly at this time of day, and when you gaze down over the edge you can see the Zora who live underwater beginning to wake up and swim around, greeting one another and moving on to do their daily tasks.
It’s a charming place. You can’t help but wonder what it would be like to live here… permanently. Would that even be something you wanted?
A soft knock at the chamber door pulls you out of your thoughts. You cast a glance to the prince, who simply shuffles in his sleep and turns onto his side. With a quiet laugh, you walk away from the window and towards the door, setting down the armband before pulling it open. “Sid-” a voice begins, before stopping abruptly.
When you look up, you’re greeted by Bazz.
The captain of the guard seems utterly confused by your presence. His yellow eyes give you a once over before he cranes his head to look into the room behind you.
“Where is the prince?” he asks you with a clearing of his throat.
“Asleep,” you reply, nodding your head in Sidon’s general direction.
Bazz tilts his head to the side, and you watch as he puts the pieces of the puzzle together- you can practically see the cogs turning in his head.
Suddenly his eyes go wide, and a smirk plays on his lips. “You spent the night in Sidon’s bedchambers.”
“Perhaps,” you mumble, “depends… you won’t let word slip to the other guards, will you?”
He quickly shakes his head, “of course not. I’ve known Sidon since we were both hatchlings. I’m his friend first, and his guard second.”
“Then yes, I did spend the night in his room, but no nothing scandalous happened, so don’t even bother asking,” you explain, crossing your arms over your chest. The guard throws up his hands in defense, giving you a cheeky sharp-toothed grin, “of course, champion. My lips are sealed. It was only a matter of time before this happened, he let slip to me about a certain mark he may or may not have left on you the other day.”
You choke hearing this, one of your hands instinctively moving up to cover the part of your neck where Sidon had essentially left a hickey.
Narrowing your eyes at Bazz, you drop your voice, just in case any palace staff happens to be walking by. “That um… that also stays between us.” “Of course,” he chuckles good heartedly, “anyways, I came by to let the prince know that his father and Princess Zelda would like to meet with him. Zelda had also asked me to find you and invite you to the throne room as well, but it appears I needn’t search any further.”
You stick your tongue out at him, getting another laugh out of the guard.
“Understood,” you sigh, giving him a good natured smile, “I’ll go ahead and wake up sleeping beauty. Let Zelda know we’ll be up soon.”
Bazz nods, giving you a cheeky wink before jogging away down the hall.
Shutting the door, you return to the prince who was still dozing off peacefully. Carefully, you crawl back onto the cushions to kneel beside him.
“Sidon,” you murmur in a sing-song voice, “princey, it’s time to wake up.”
Gently, you nudge his shoulders.
In response, he mumbles in his sleep and stirs slightly.
Giggling, you repeat his name, “Sidon~” With a few more nudges of encouragement, he finally begins to wake. There’s a rumble in his chest as he groans, sleepily opening his eyes as he lifts a hand to rub them. His yellow irises flicker around the room before finally settling on you, and his lips spread into a smile. “Well hello there, little one. Isn’t this a lovely sight for my morning,” he greets you, his voice slightly hoarse from sleep.
You grin back at him, “I could say the same thing. Waking up in your arms was rather nice. However, we can’t stay in and cuddle all day, your father wants to see us.”
He blinks, “whatever for?”
“No clue,” you shrug, “Bazz swung by and said the king and Zelda wanted to see us. He was also a bit shocked, but not surprised, by my presence in your bedchambers.”
Sidon chuckles at this, “ah yes. I may have neglected to let you know that I’ve been confiding in Bazz in regards to my… struggles.”
You laugh at this, snorting a bit, “ struggles?”
A blue blush dusts the prince’s cheeks, “let’s just say it’s been quite the time since I’ve been so enamored with a being as to want to court them.”
“Awhhh, you’re enamored with me?” you tease him, poking his side as you grin.
“You’re playing a dangerous game prodding me like that, little Hylian,” he warns you, narrowing his gaze.
You roll your eyes, “oh I’m so scared-”
You’re unable to finish your sentence before the prince suddenly leaps, swooping you into his arms. A yelp just barely escapes your lips as you’re pinned down onto the cushions, with the Zora prince looming over you.
His hands grip onto either side of you, securing you in place, and your face feels so warm that you could’ve been literally lit on fire and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. When your eyes meet his, his hold on you tenses, and he tilts his head to the side as he smirks.
“I did warn you, little one,” he grins, bearing his sharp teeth at you.
“Whatever,” you reply stubbornly, puffing out your cheeks in an attempt to ignore their warmth, “why don’t you get down here and kiss me?”
He blinks, taken aback by your forwardness.
“Was that too much-” you attempt to ask, but are interrupted by Sidon leaning down to press his lips against yours sweetly. You squeak in surprise, before allowing yourself to melt into the kiss happily.
The moment doesn’t last very long, however, and all too soon the prince is pulling back.
“As much as I’d adore keeping you in my embrace all day, it would be best for us to go meet with my father,” he murmurs, his lips mere centimeters away from your own.
“Yeahhh, you’re right,” you sigh, “c’mon, let’s get properly dressed.”
When the Zora removes his hands from your waist, you immediately miss his touch. You watch as he moves across the room to replace his typical accessories, slipping his silver bands onto his wrist and ankles, affixing his belt and sash and neck piece with all their rope adornments, as well as the plumed headpiece he wore on the crest of his head fin.
You were already mostly dressed, you simply needed to fit the Zora armor back on over your torso and arms and secure the scabbard of the Master Sword around you as well.
“Are you ready to go, darling?”
You’d been in the middle of fumbling with the cuffs of your armor when you heard Sidon’s question, and it caused your whole body to go still.
“Darling?” you repeat, a cheeky smile playing on your face.
“Do you not like it?” the prince asks with concern.
“No- I mean yes! I mean… I do like it,” you stammer with a blush, “I’m just not used to cute little nicknames like that.”
Your flusteredness makes Sidon chuckle as he steps up to you, “regardless, you look as splendid as ever.”
“Oh hush,” you reply, brushing aside the compliment, “you look good too. Except, let me just-”
You reach up to adjust his silken cravat, adjusting how the fabric sits beneath the silver neck piece. Once you fix the ruffles, you brush your fingers over the rounded gem of luminous stone decorating his collarbone before smiling up at him, “there we go. Perfect.”
He grins down at you, lending you his arm, “then will you do me the honor of accompanying me to the throne room?”
“Certainly,” you reply with a giggle, looping your arm through his.
As a pair, you exit his bedchambers and walk through the hallways of the palace. Unsurprisingly, you attract the attention of servants and staff who were going about doing their morning rounds, and the sound of small whispers and titters of gossip was becoming oh-so familiar to your ears.
It didn’t take very long for you to reach the steps of the throne room though, and you’re greeted by the guards as you walk up the stairs.
“Good morning my son, and you as well Hylian Champion,” King Dorephan says once you reach the top of the steps. You see him glance down at the two of you, and once he spies the way your arms are locked together, he gives you a knowing smile.
“Morning, father,” Sidon replies politely as always.
“G’morning, your highness” you say with a grin, bowing your head.
You see Zelda at the side of the throne who seems to be having a conversation with Muzu. When she glances over, she gives you a wide smile and a wave, which you reciprocate.
Stepping back, you allow the prince his privacy to speak with Dorephan and Muzu, and in the meantime the princess rushes over to you.
“Well good morning to you,” she says with a cheeky smile, “wherever did you escape to last night? You never showed up at the guest chambers.”
“Don’t freak out, but I spent the night in Sidon’s room,” you reply, leaning in to whisper it into her ear.
She loudly gasps, and you quickly shush her.
“You what?” she asks, grinning at you.
“I said don’t freak out,” you laugh, “but yes, I spent the night with him, nothing insane or anything but…”
“But?” she repeats, her green eyes brimming with curiosity.
“There may or may not have been some kissing involved,” you mumble.
She practically squeals with excitement and you shush her once more, but can’t help giggling along with her.
It’d been so long since you’d been able to act your age. Well, discounting the one hundred years you’d been left in a deep slumber, you were still a teenager at heart. Fighting against the forces of Ganon and becoming a knight of the royal family at a young age had caused you to need to mature rather quickly, you’d nearly forgotten how it felt to act like the teen you were.
To be able to gossip and chat with your closest friend, to be able to whisper about boys as any other young woman around Hyrule could.
The calamity had robbed many things from you. Time, friends, your home… and your childhood, in a way.
It was time to start taking it back.
Once your little gossip session is over, Zelda approaches Sidon and King Dorephan to explain her goal for the day.
“As you know well by now, I plan on finding new pilots for each of the Divine Beasts,” she begins to explain, “and we’ve had a wonderful start with Prince Sidon. Soon though, _____ and I will be leaving to meet with our other candidates. A few days ago I sent a letter to the Gerudo expressing my interest in their Chief Riju to become the next pilot for Naboris, and this morning I received word back that she’s interested in discussing this more with me. However, before we go, I would like to run a test trial of Ruta with the prince to make sure its mechanisms are running smoothly, and to make sure he can learn the basics of piloting a Divine Beast.”
After some more discussion, an excursion is planned: Sidon, Zelda, and you will travel to the Divine Beast once more, accompanied by Bazz. Once inside the Divine Beast, Zelda will assist the prince in learning how to control Ruta, or at the very least she’ll teach him the essential basics.
Outside the throne room, the captain of the guard arrives swiftly and has all the details explained to him. As he and Sidon plan a route through the upperland, though, you curiously ask for the Sheikah Slate from Zelda.
“Ummm… not to put a damper on your guys’ planning, but I know a pretty simple way to get the Divine Beast,” you say, waving the slate in your hand.
The prince and the guard look at you with confusion, but the princess groans and hangs her head.
“Not this again,” she sighs.
“Whatever are you talking about, little one?” Sidon asks, but when you wave the slate he gets a knowing look on his face, remembering how you’d used it during his first trial.
“Well,” you begin, tapping the face of the tablet to bring up its map, “the Sheikah Slate is connected to nearly every other physical piece of Sheikah technology around Hyrule. The laboratories, shrines, towers, and the Divine Beasts. Using the slate, we can travel to each of these locations.”
“Travel… how exactly?” Bazz prods.
A grin makes its way to your face and you motion for the three of them to step closer. You hold out the slate and instruct each of them to place their hand upon it. Once they have, you tap the map to focus on the area of the Zora Upperland where Ruta is currently situated. You spy the small elephant-shaped icon and smile as you press it.
Suddenly, you feel much lighter, and your stomach does a flip as you’re lifted off of the ground. Bright blue streams of light surround all four of you, and you hear both the prince and the guard make confused noises as you’re whisked away to a new location.
In a matter of seconds you’re deposited on a flat, wet area and stumble momentarily as you regain your footing.
Looking around, you see that you’ve been deposited at Divine Beast Vah Ruta’s feet, and the familiar machine is glowing a bright blue, almost as if it’s happy to see all of you.
Turning back around, you giggle upon seeing the state your three companions are in. Zelda looks to be relatively the best, having experienced fast travel via Sheikah Slate before. Sidon and Bazz, however, are both doubled over and clutching their stomachs.
“Why-” Bazz attempts to speak, but his voice is caught in his throat as he lurches forward, “sweet Hylia, that is not easy on the stomach. Why haven’t you shown us this before?”
“For this exact reason,” you laugh, “I didn’t get accustomed to traveling with the slate like that until I’d used the feature dozens of times. You’ve only used it once and you both look pale and sick- not to mention, I have a theory that the farther you use it to travel, the worse the side effects are.” “I’ve only done that once before, I’d entirely forgotten about the… sickening sensation,” the prince groans, leaning against his friend.
“We’re going to have to speak with Purah about calibrating that,” the princess pipes up, brushing back her hair to reveal her flushed face.
You give the three some time to recover before returning to the matter at hand. Looking back to Ruta, the Divine Beast was still leaning on its back legs as it had been the previous time. The rope you’d used to scale its side had been left behind, so it’s what you all use to re-enter.
Bazz ascends first, to make sure the area inside is safe and clear, before calling you up to follow him. Once on the platform, you peer inside. The Divine Beast is still dormant, with some water left behind in its shallow pond. The terminals in the bottom floor Ruta glow a faint blue, but other than that, there’s nothing of note.
“It’s safe, go ahead and climb,” you call out to the prince and princess.
Zelda is the next one to reach the platform, and finally you’re joined by Sidon, who you offer a hand to in helping him up.
Once you’ve all reconvened, you have the Sheikah Slate to the princess, who brings up the map and schematics of the Divine Beast on its screen. “We’ll need to go to the main terminal, which is in the side room to the right here. Sidon, you will have to assure that he’s able to access Ruta from there, since you won’t always have the slate as a secondary control,” she explains.
Nodding your head, the three of them follow you inside and you lead them towards the main terminal. You remember it well, it’s where you’d had your standoff with Waterblight Ganon and where you’d seen Mipha last.
‘Mipha’s spirit,’ you remind yourself, ‘she’s dead. But… she’s still here. In our hearts, in the healing powers she’s given me… maybe even still inside of Ruta’.
There’s an odd tilt to the main room due the way the Divine Beast is sat. The floor of the room has dried since you were last here, the water evaporated away since Ruta no longer sits in the reservoir. The large terminal hums a low noise and glows a dim blue, with sunlight streaming in from the windows high above.
Bazz and Zelda walk ahead of you just fine, the captain curious to explore the area, and the princess moving swiftly to the terminal to examine it.
Sidon stops at the entryway.
Curiously, you turn to look back at him. You nearly ask him what’s wrong, before stopping in yourself, catching the words before they’re spoken.
You’d fought Waterblight Ganon here… but so had he.
“Sidon,” you mumble, reaching a hand out to rub his arm soothingly, “it’s okay I… I fought here too. I understand.”
There’s a cold look in his eyes as he gazes around the room, and his whole body is tense. When he locks eyes with you, you flinch slightly, not at all used to seeing him look so intense.
He blinks. Then relaxes his shoulders. He lifts a hand to touch yours before lacing your fingers together. “Apologies, little one, it’s just…” he begins, voice soft, “last time I saw this room I barely made it out alive. And I fought one of the most terrifying battles I will likely see for the rest of my life.”
“I know,” you reply gently, “but it’s gone. He’s gone. You’re safe, and I’m safe… all of us.”
You hold back from speaking Mipha’s name, but when you meet his eyes you can tell you’re both thinking the same thing. Not everyone who fought Ganon, in his many forms, made it out alive.
“Sidon?”
Zelda’s voice pulls you away from your thoughts. You turn back to see her looking at the two of you. She’s placed the slate upon the terminal’s pedestal, causing it to glow brighter.
“If you’re ready, I believe Ruta is prepared to meet you,” she continues, smiling.
The prince nods, and you squeeze his hand reassuringly before letting go. Sidon walks towards the terminal, holding his head up high. You watch as Zelda whispers some instructions to him, and you’re reminded of when she’d done the same with Mipha all those years ago.
You were all so much younger then. Naive. Blind to the future.
Biting down on your lip, you watch as the prince lifts his hand, before pressing it against the pedestal of the terminal. For a second, nothing happens, and all is silent as you, the princess, and the captain watch.
Suddenly, there’s a loud trumpeting noise, and you gasp as the floor shakes beneath you.
“She’s awake!” Zelda exclaims, a grin on her face as she holds onto the terminal to maintain her balance.
You wobble back and forth as the Divine Beast moves, seemingly to stand on all four of its legs. Quickly, the prince moves his fingers across the terminal pedestal, and the movement comes to a pause.
“Oh, brilliant!” the princess cheers, “so, Ruta’s responsive to you without the aid of the Sheikah Slate, which is wonderful news meaning she accepts you as the pilot. For now you’ll need to use the terminal to guide her and use her weaponry, but eventually you’ll be more in tune with her. At least, that’s how Mipha had put it in her journal. She said after weeks after piloting the Divine Beast, it was as if they’d connected on a personal level. She no longer needed to use the physical terminal to move Ruta, she’d simply think of the command and it would happen.”
The next few hours are filled with more trial runs as Sidon learns the basics of being a pilot. You watch him learn how to make the Divine Beast move from side to side, walk back and forth, raise and lower her trunk, bring forth her endless stream of water, and even summon the ice blocks that she’d once used to attack both you and Sidon when you’d first attempted to board her to reclaim her.
“My you’re quite the fast learner, Prince Sidon, I’ll give you that,” Zelda congratulates him with a grin, “though, if we plan on traveling on foot to return to the palace we should be leaving soon. I suggest that you return to Ruta everyday to forge a bond with her. Mipha used to tell me about how much of a lovely companion she is, apparently she’s quite a good listener.”
Sidon is happy to hear the princess appraise him, and you have to agree with her, he’s gotten down the basics of controlling the Divine Beast very quickly. A natural learner, just like Mipha had been.
“So, we don’t want to travel using the Sheikah Slate this time?” you ask the three with a cheeky grin.
“No.” they all reply unanimously, causing you to laugh.
It doesn’t take very long for each of you to descend off of Ruta, because this time Sidon instructs her to kneel lower, meaning the platform off to her side is far closer to the ground. Bazz and Zelda climb down first, and you stay behind just long enough to hear the prince bid the Divine Beast goodbye.
“I’ll return soon. There’s much I have to learn from you,” he whispers, to no one other than himself and Ruta.
You smile at this, before using the rope to swing off and land swiftly on the plateau, Sidon following soon after.
Bazz leads the way back to Zora’s Domain, and the journey is uneventful, aside from the idle chatter between the group. Everytime you look towards Sidon, he seems lost in thought, contemplating something.
Once you reach the polished floor of the Great Zora Bridge, the sun’s light is fading away in the western horizon, mostly hidden behind the cliffs of the upperlands. At the end of the bridge you’re greeted by guards, and Bazz bids his farewell as he returns to his post as captain.
“I’m going to speak with my father and Muzu, I’ll see them alone,” Sidon announces, “I’ll return soon, please help yourself to the wares and dining of the palace in the meantime.”
Before he walks away he gives you both a smile, but it’s much more forced than his usual cheery grins.
“Something’s off with him,” you sigh as you watch him walk away, a frown tugging on your lips.
“Yes, I see it too,” Zelda replies, “though I do suppose you’re the best candidate to find out what exactly is wrong with the prince.”
You brow furrows, “why am I the best candidate?”
She gives you a pointed look, and you mutter a small ‘oh’ when you remember that the prince has practically begun courting you.
“Perhaps you can try speaking with him tonight? The two of us are set to leave in the morning to arrive in Gerudo desert in a week’s time,” she suggests.
‘Tomorrow morning? That’s so soon,’ you think to yourself.
“I will. I assume you’re going to return to the library?” you ask her, and in response she quickly nods.
“Yes, to do one last reading of my notes. I’m unsure if Urbosa had ever left behind any writing like Mipha had, so I’m hoping her experience with the trials and piloting can help us teach Chief Riju if she decides to pilot Naboris,” she explains.
“Alright, make sure to grab something to eat though, yea? Don’t need you starving yourself cause you’re so focused on reading” you tease her good-naturedly, to which she rolls her eyes.
“Of course. Should I expect to meet you in the bedchambers later tonight? Or will you be rendezvousing with the prince once more?” she replies, teasing you back.
You blush and stick your tongue out at her, “that’s yet to be seen. Go on, run along to your books. I’m gonna find something to eat.”
The princess takes her leave, heading down the stairs and into the lower floors of the palace. You cast a glance towards the upper floor where the throne room was, only to cast your eyes downward and lock eyes with the statue of Mipha in the square.
There weren't many Zora around. No doubt the younger ones have been called home by their parents, the shopkeepers were maintaining their stores, and the servants were doing their evening duties. You could only see guards posted around, so you took a deep breath before walking up to the statue.
‘She looks so peaceful,’ you think to yourself, examining the intricate carving work done to resemble the lost princess’ likeness, ‘at least you’ll always be remembered the way I saw you. Beautiful, collected, powerful’.
With a frown, your thoughts drift back to a certain prince. Sighing, you place your hands on the smoothed platform the statue was placed upon, hoping for guidance.
“Mipha… if you’re there. If you can hear me… Sidon needs help,” you whisper, looking up to her, “he’s still coping. It’s been so long without you and now he’s tasked with piloting Ruta. I met your spirit in Ruta. If there’s any way for you to speak with Sidon… please. I know he’s strong, but he needs to hear from you. He misses you, and I think he needs more guidance. I… I miss you too…”
You clench your fists and turn away from the statue. ‘I’m being ridiculous. She can’t hear me. I’m talking to air.’
You push all that aside and wander through the palace, eventually managing to get your hands on some dinner after speaking to a servant. You then find yourself sitting beside the water pools beneath the throne room. You’re alone in this area, aside from the occasional snail that’s made its home in the pools of fresh water. You’d discarded your boots when you arrived to dip your feet in the cool pools.
Casually, you take bites of your rice and bass dinner, thinking about the journey ahead. Already you’re mentally preparing for your trek through the Gerudo desert and the monsters you’ll have to fend off; electric Chuchus and Lizalfos, camps of Bokoblins, and Hylia forbid you come across a Molduga while escorting Zelda to Gerudo Town.
“Am I interrupting anything, little one?”
A smile quirks up on your lips at the sound of a familiar voice. Tilting your head back, you see Sidon stood a little ways away. You pat the floor beside you, “c’mon, sit with me. How’d things with your father go?”
The Zora prince walks over before seating himself besides you, dipping his legs into the pool you’re sitting in front of. “It went quite well. I explained how my first experience controlling the Divine Beast went, he was quite impressed. Though… I do have a qualm with my new station.”
Frowning, you set down your bowl and turn to face him. “What’s wrong?”
“I believe it’s an insecurity, but… something feels off about me piloting Ruta. I feel as though I’ve stolen something from Mipha, and I’ve been frequently comparing myself to her own talents as of late. I’m aware that I am not unskilled, and I’ve been raised from birth to protect and defend my domain and my people… yet I’m unsure if I’m deserving of such a position as pilot,” he murmurs, his yellow eyes skimming over the pool, watching the ripples in the water.
You look up at him with sad eyes, and scoot over to wrap your arms around one of his, leaning in to offer him some comfort. “Hmm… I understand how you feel,” you reply.
His brow furrows and he glances over to look down at you.
“I felt the same way when I was first designated to become Zelda’s knight,” you begin to explain, “ever since I was a child, I trained to be a guard for the royal family of Hyrule. My father was a guard, and so was his father, and his father, and so on. I wanted to be just like them, and I achieved that goal just as the first signs of the calamity were beginning. King Rhoam saw how I fought in the field, he thought me to be very skilled, and it didn’t take very long for me to rise through the ranks.
“When I was picked to become Zelda’s personal protection, though, I felt like something was wrong. Like I shouldn’t have been there, I shouldn’t have been selected for this. Not to mention, back then the relationship between the princess and I was far more tense. You were little, so I don’t think you remember, but it took a while for me and her to become friends.
“I thought, certainly, that I didn’t deserve that position. And I thought that other guards in my regiment were far more skilled than I. And then… I pulled the Master Sword from the ground in the Korok Forest. You would think that this would make me more sure of myself, more confident. The Goddess Hylia herself selected me to be the bearer of the sword, the sword that seals the darkness, I am a descendent of the swordbearers before me… it didn’t do that though.
“I was even more unsure of myself after that. I thought, surely, it must’ve been some kind of mistake. Hylia picked the wrong person. I prayed and prayed for weeks, and yet the only thing that changed was I became stronger. It also strained the relationship between Zelda and I, because while she struggled to harness her divine powers I flourished before her eyes.”
You take in a deep breath before kicking the water with your foot. “Sorry, I’m rambling,” you sigh. “No no, go on,” the prince reassures you, his eyes full of sincerity.
You can’t help but smile before continuing, “anyways, to sum up what I’m trying to say… I didn’t feel like I was in the right place either. Or if I was even deserving of the title of champion. But over time, I proved it to myself that I was exactly where I belonged. And you are too, even if you don’t see it yet. You’re going to be an amazing pilot, just like you’re already an amazing prince and amazing warrior and amazing friend.”
“Friend?” he repeats back, and you roll your eyes.
“Shush, you know I see you as more than a friend but we haven’t put a label on anything yet,” you retort, “besides, you’re avoiding the main point I made, don’t think I didn’t notice.” Sidon nods his head and smiles softly, lifting one of his hands to lace his fingers with yours. “I understand, little one. Thank you for the reassurance and encouragement… despite my regular demeanor, I do need the help from time to time,” he murmurs.
“I’ll be sure to compliment and encourage you every single day from now on,” you grin, “now c’mon, it’s getting late. Your father has asked me to protect you, so it’s my duty to assure that you return to your bedchambers safe and sound.”
The prince chuckles, “little Hylian, I can assure you that I’m more than capable of walking down the palace hallways to return to my room on my own.”
You slump your shoulders and stare up at him with a deadpan expression, “Sidon. I was making up an excuse to go back to your chambers tonight. Just go along with it.”
The Zora’s eyes go wide and he whispers a small “ohhhh” of realization.
“But of course! Please, valiant knight chosen by Hylia herself, escort me through these treacherous lands to the safety of my abode,” he practically exclaims, splaying a hand across his chest in dramatic fashion and tossing his head back.
“You’re such a drama queen,” you giggle, shaking the water off of your feet before standing up and grabbing your boots and the bowl you’d been eating from.
Side by side, you walk through the palace, in much happier spirits than before your conversation. You manage to return the bool to the kitchen staff and eventually wind up back in front of the prince’s chamber door.
He invites you in, and of course, you comply. Once inside his room you tug your boots back onto your now dry feet and wander over to the cushioned seats where you promptly collapse onto them, taking in a deep sigh of relief.
You watch curiously as Sidon removes his various accessories and adornments. It’s almost intimate, seeing the way his own hands glide across his body to slip off his silver cuffs and neckpiece, lifting off his sash to fold it and set it aside, and finally removing his plumed headpiece.
When he turns around, he catches your eye and grins cheekily, “Is something the matter, little one?” “Nope, nothing at all, I’m simply enjoying the view,” you reply with a smirk.
He gives you a mischievous smile before walking over and settling in beside you, wrapping his arms around your torso.
“Isn’t it a bit scandalous to have so much physical affection before being properly courted?” you ask him with a laugh, running your fingers across his forearm.
“Perhaps,” he murmurs, and you can feel his breath against your neck as he speaks, “but I do believe my status may allow me to get away with such a thing.”
“Ah yes, your immaculate status,” you laugh, sighing as you lean against him, “now… as much as I’d love to spend the night here again, I don’t know how smart of me it would be to do so.”
“Why’s that?” he asks curiously.
“Zelda and I are leaving in the morning,” you mumble, “heading to the desert to meet with the Gerudo about their new champion.” You feel the prince nod, “yes, I’d nearly forgotten about that. I… I don’t assume that you’ll be returning to the domain once your visit to the desert is complete?”
You can’t help but smile at the question. “Awh, are you gonna miss me, princey?” you reply teasingly, tilting your head back to look up at him.
A blue blush dusts his cheeks and he averts his eyes, “well, yes… are you not going to miss me as well while you’re gone?”
“Of course I am,” you reply with a whisper, lifting one of your hands to hold his face, “I’m gonna think of you every minute while I’m gone. I’ll see if I can manage visiting quickly once we’ve picked a Gerudo pilot, the princess is most likely going to want to move on to the next region… and I’m really her only protection right now, we have no royal knighthood anymore, and we likely won’t have one trained until after her coronation as queen. Wherever she goes, I have to be nearby.”
He nods, pressing his cheek against your palm, “I understand little one. Let’s just enjoy these last few hours together, yes?”
And enjoy them you do. You spend your final night in Zora’s domain in the arms of the prince, exchanging kisses and keeping one another warm. Eventually, you resign yourself to returning to your own bedchambers for the night, fearing if you stay any longer you may not want to leave in the morning.
You bid Sidon goodbye with a goodnight’s kiss before walking away from his room, and you can feel his gaze on you as you walk down the hall.
Once you return to the guest chambers you and Zelda were sharing, you slowly open the door to reveal and already-asleep princess in her bed. You smile at the sight and shut the door slowly, padding across the room as you begin to remove your Zora armor and set the Master Sword aside.
Removing the various pieces, you also decide to take off your tunic and trousers, momentarily standing in your undergarments before grabbing a clean robe and slipping it on, tying the rope around your waist loosely. A quiet yawn slips past your lips as you walk over to the bed, crawling beneath the covers and cozying up with the pillows. From your spot you can gaze out the window, and you can see glowing luminous rock deposits in the distance.
The soft blue lights lull you to sleep as you eventually shut your eyes, a certain Zora prince on your mind as fatigue takes over.
“... -___. _____. _____!” You grumble, turning over in bed as you hear your name getting called.
“_____, we must get going soon. Come on, wake up.”
When you’re finally able to force your eyes open, you’re greeted with the sight of Zelda standing at the end of your bed. She’s already dressed, aside from still needing to put her boots on and braid her hair.
“Alright, alright, I’m up,” you groan, pushing yourself to sit up and tugging the covers off.
As you walk around the room, grabbing your various pieces of clothing to get dressed as the princess explains the plan for the day: “The King has requested that the kitchen staff prepare us previsions for our travels, food and blankets and the like, which I’m very grateful for. I plan on us having left this mountainous area in the afternoon, and we’ll then be able to cross the wetlands and rest for the night at a stable. From that stable in the morning we’ll ride to Kakariko village and rest there tomorrow. Within a week’s time we’ll be in Gerudo Town, where I have a meeting with Chief Riju scheduled.”
You nod along as she explains, stripping off your robe and tugging on clean pants and a fresh tunic, lacing up your boots, and finally adorning the Zora armor and band that Sidon had gifted you.
“You know, we could just use the Sheikah Slate to travel-” you begin with a laugh, already knowing how Zelda will reply.
“_____, you know how I feel about traveling via the slate,” she sighs, “now then, let’s retrieve our horses.”
“Yes ma’am,” you reply jokingly, grabbing the Master Sword’s scabbard and securing it around your torso.
Following the princess through the palace, you eventually wind up in the small plaza area that houses the statue of Mipha, and are greeted by one very excited equine.
“Persephone!” you exclaim, greeting your horse happily, “how are you girl? Did you miss me? Did you and Storm get along?”
With a grin, you run your hand down her neck, giving her pats as she whinnies in response.
The palace servants had loaded the pack on her saddle with food and supplies for your journey, and the same appeared to be the case with Zelda’s horse.
“Well, are you ready to go?” the princess asks.
Biting the inside of her cheek, you give her a side glance, and she understands without you needing to say anything.
“You still need to say your goodbyes,” she smiles at you, “go on, go find him.”
Giving her a grin, you nod and hand her Peresephone’s reins before dashing away, running through the halls of the palace in search of the prince.
“Sidon! Sidon?” you shout, sprinting through the corridors.
When you turn a corner, you don’t expect the solid mass you run into to be there. You yelp, stumbling backwards, only to be greeted by a concerned looking red Zora who catches you by wrapping an arm around your waist.
“_____-”
“Sidon-”
“I was looking for you-” you both say at the same time.
You both share a laugh, but when you meet his gaze there’s a subtle sadness in his eyes.
“I… you know why I came to find you,” you sigh, and he nods.
“Yes, I was searching for you for the same reason,” he replies.
“I hate saying goodbye,” you admit, “but… I will see you soon. As soon as I can. The next chance I get I will come running back to you, understand that? Hylia, I-... I’m gonna miss you so much.”
“Not a moment will go by where I’m not thinking of you, darling,” he murmurs, pulling you closer to him, “and every day that passes I will look forward to when I’m graced by your presence, to when I can hold you safely in my arms, to when I can feel your warmth and see your smile once more.”
“Even your goodbyes are more eloquent than anything I could muster up,” you groan, rolling your eyes with a giggle.
Confidently, you reach up to wrap an arm around his neck and tug him down closer to you, pressing a kiss against his lips.
This kiss is different from the ones you’d shared before. You meld together in a tender sensation, an unspoken longing behind the way you hold one another. The only reason you pull away is out of a need to return to the princess.
“I’ll… I’ll see you soon,” you repeat, looking into his eyes.
“And I anticipate your return to me, darling. Now go, be the wonderful Champion you were destined to be,” he smiles sadly, releasing his hold on your waist.
You don’t want to walk away, but you force your legs to move. You don’t turn back for one final glance because of the tears that threaten to spill, and you don’t want him to see you cry. You dash up the stairs back to the plaza, heart pounding in your chest.
Wordlessly, you meet with the princess again, before mounting Persephone. Soothing your mount, you turn your gaze to the bridge and the mountains that lay beyond it.
All the guards and Zora both young and old wave to you and Zelda, bidding you goodbye and good luck on your journey. The princess flicks her reins and Storm begins to gallop away, and you instruct Persephone to follow closely behind.
As the two of you race down the bridge and away from the domain, you’re unaware of the yellow eyes that follow your figure from the upper levels of the palace. Unaware of the quiet farewell the prince whispers, preparing himself for your absence.

How would bazz react if the reader wanted to join the join the guard with him? Love your writing!!
"You . . . you want to join, eh?" Bazz regards you with an expression both solemn and admiring. "Well, you shouldn't make such a decision on the fly. Not that I'm saying you are, but it's for life, you know. You'll need to undergo extensive training. Many times, you must trade sleep and your home life for your duty, especially in times of war. Sometimes, I wish I could go back and . . . well, I'm not saying I regret anything, but this life can be punishing if you're not fully prepared for it. Not to mention, when the king or prince wants to train with you, you must be careful. To injure either of them would be--" He trails off, sensing a presence behind him.
"Would be what?" Sidon asks, gliding smoothly into your circle and the conversation. "Are you saying you've let me win our battles, Bazz?"
"N-no! Of course not." He is unable to mask the look of panic on his face. "I only meant--"
Sidon claps a massive hand on the captain's shoulder and grins. "Loosen up, old friend. I'm only kidding." He turns to you and then to Bazz. "For what it's worth, I think Y/N here would make an excellent knight of the Zora Guard. Why don't you start training them up, Bazz?"
As if it were that simple, Bazz wants to say. But he only gives a head bow to Sidon and mutters, "Yes, sir."
Sidon gives you a wink and steps away, and Bazz huffs in indignance that you haven't immediately sprung into action. "Well? Where is your sword, Y/N? Or shall we go to the armory to get you one?"

Parkour! (Big Bad Bazz Brigade)
This is based off of the parkour scene from The Office!
Thank you @hey-llison for inspiring me!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sky above was a pale pink hue fading to midnight blue as dawn broke over the luminous structure of Zora’s Domain. Gentle coo’s of mourning doves mixed with the sound of water moving across the domain and down the local waterfalls added to the peaceful ambiance. The sound of clinking metal echoed across the stone structure as a particular captain made his way to work.
Bazz yawned, still worn out from the long night he pulled prior. The training reports for the newest addition of guards had taken longer than he had anticipated much to the dismay of Muzu. One of the new recruits managed to get lost on his first round of surveying the local river system. Poor kid, it was easy to get turned around when you didn’t study the maps enough. As Captain of The Guard, Bazz declared himself responsible for the trainee and sought to it himself to locate him. It took a bit longer than expected, but the trainee was found safe and sound and promptly brought back to the domain.
The lock on the door to the Captain’s office cla-clinked as Bazz turned the key.
“Office, sweet office.”
Plopping himself and his stack of folders down at his desk, Bazz picked up right where he left off yesterday.
——————————
Scribble. Check. Dip quill in ink. Scribble. Check. Dip quill in ink. Scribble. Check-
Bazz groaned. He had been at it for hours now, the early hours of dawn lifting into early afternoon. He had skipped his lunch, only leaving his office to ensure his guards were keeping to their schedules as given. All seemed to be in order. Not a single guard out of pl-
The door to Bazz’s office slams open.
Bazz looks up in time to see a rust colored zora dash at him at top speed, flipping himself up onto Bazz’s desk. The Zora rolled himself over the desk, knocking paperwork, folders, and ink bottles across the floor, before landing against Bazz’s chest and pushing the Captain backwards in his chair onto the ground.
Bazz recovers quickly, glaring down the Zora.
“What. The. FUCK. Rivan!?”
Rivan’s cat-like yellow eyes looked deep into Bazz’s, face just inches away and devoid of any particular emotion- a stark contrast to pissed expression on the Captain’s. He mutters something, but Bazz did not catch it.
“What did you say?”
“PARKOUR!!”
Taken aback, Bazz watches his childhood friend jump up off the floor and sprint out of his office, flipping over the debris and somersaulting out the door. Bazz’s eye twitches as he observed the mess of his usually neat and tidy office. He growls, getting up and fixing his helm. He grabs his silverscale spear and chases after his friend.
Rivan dashed through the marble hallways, occasionally flipping over decorative tables and vases, and bouncing off the walls going around corners. He was awfully energetic and carefree despite the sight of the captain chasing after him.
“C’mon, Bazz!! You gotta do the moves too!” Rivan shouted over his shoulder.
Bazz scrunched his face in confusion.
“The moves??”
Rivan did another flip over one of the intricately etched designs on the luminous floor.
“The moves!”
Bazz followed, pulling a flip over the same design before continuing his chase. They dashed around several more corners and leapt down a flight of stairs, not touching a single step. At one point Bazz swore he saw a flash of red and heard it squeak in surprise as he passed a hall. Was that Laflat? Tula? Hell, it could have been Kapson. He shrugged to himself and he kept his eyes on his friend. He increased his speed and swiftly grabbed the end of Rivan’s head tail, yanking him back.
“eeEOWWwwww okay!!! Damn!” The rusty brown Zora gave in, stopping in his tracks. “You don’t have to give me whiplash, Cap.”
Bazz shook his head, crossing his arms and giving Rivan a look clearly prompting him to explain himself. Rivan rolled his eyes and grinned before opening his mouth, but before he could get a word out a flash of grayish-lilac zipped over the boys.
Que the slow motion action scene.
Bazz and Rivan’s jaws dropped as they look up the lock eyes with Gaddison, currently flipping over their heads. Her grin could only be described as snarky.
“ppPPAAArrrRKKooURRr!!!”
Gaddison landed perfectly on the other side of her friends, looking up with nothing but challenge in her eyes.
——————————
Muzu stretched lightly, groaning something about his arthritis. That meeting was far too long, and they really needed to reupholster the meeting room chairs. He walked alongside King Dorephan and Prince Sidon, both stretching a bit themselves.
“Well, I think that meeting went well. It’s not everyday Seggin and Trello get through a meeting without bickering,” Sidon cracked his shoulders. The two were old friends, but bickered like a married couple.
“Mmh..yes. Though you must admit, it can be entertaining to watch them go at it like cuckoos.” Dorephan stifled a chuckle when he caught Muzu’s annoyed look.
“My king, don’t encourage your son to gossip!” Muzu shook his head. Sidon hid his eye roll and shared a glance with his father, both royals were used to Muzu’s antics.
“My apologies, Muzu,” Dorephan started, “Let’s move on. Have you had the chance to speak with Dento about the blueprints for the new- I’m sorry what??”
King Dorephan’s attention was suddenly elsewhere, jaw slack in shock. Muzu and Sidon quickly followed his eyes, only to see the most unusual sight.
Gaddison, Bazz, and Rivan were chasing each other, flipping over objects and jumping off ledges. At one point, Bazz backflipped over Tumbo. The young Zora clapped and cheered, clearly excited to be a part of the fun. All the while, the trio shouted “parkour” as they did stunts across the domain.
Muzu scoffed, “Hylia! Those three have no tact! Surely you’d think the Captain himself would never lower to such standards!”
Dorephan had to stifle another laugh, as he watched the three jump around like fleas. Those three had always been rambunctious. What did they used to call themselves as guppies? Ah, yes. The Big Bad Bazz Brigade.
“Don’t you even think about joining them, your hig- hEY!!!” Muzu shrieked, glaring at where the prince once stood.
Dorephan lowered his eyes, looking at the blank spot next to him where Sidon was standing just a minute ago. He heard a cacophony in the direction of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade, indicative of a new friend joining the chaos.
“Ah, Jabu…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I Hope you liked this! This is the first short fic I’ve written! I had fun with this!
I wasn’t sure how to describe Gaddison’s color, as she appears gray in post of the pictures of her but I know the colors in the domain are a bit muddled from the rain! I only knew Rivan was actually a rusty brown when I saw him in the sunlight!

Raising a Zora - Bazz x reader
Tumblr media
“bro im so pumped i will singlehandedly supply AT LEAST a week of reqs for rainy days don't try me to start us off: sidon (and bazz 😌) fatherhood momence :) assuming we've adopted bc i still haven't worked out my zora anatomy hcs lol. ofc by the time the kid is school age poor y/n is gonna be like 50 but you can either ignore that or work it in as you please! i'm curious ab ur take on zora childhood milestones etc :)” - @mantaphase
and i’m back with a Bazz headcanon!! i will NEVER get tired of writing for him <3
enjoy!! <333
(Sidon can be found here)
Bazz loves the idea of having children with you
he’s dreamt about it for such a long time
but he knows that Zora/Hylian reproduction wouldn’t work
you two talk about it daily
“You know I want nothing more than to have a family with you, right?”
you two decide adoption is the best route to go
and you’re both so happy with this decision
you both adopt a Zora egg
and it’s the smallest one you’ve ever seen
you’ve never seen Bazz be so gentle with ANYTHING
and here he is, cradling this egg with so much love
you’re sure to place it in water for when it hatches
and Bazz is always checking in
about a month of so after adopting, the egg hatches
Bazz squeals with delight
he’s so attentive
even when he’s supposed to be working, he’ll come home and check in with you and the baby
“How can I not come see my little family in the middle of the day?”
after he arrives home, he’s sure to tell you all about his day
he even has stories ready for your little one
it’s the same for about a year or two
and everyday, he has more exciting stories
once your child reaches the metamorphosis stage, Bazz stays home from work to help around the house
he knows how insane things can be
and mainly because he did help take care of Dunma when Rivan needed help
it happens so quickly
and soon enough, you’re teaching your baby to walk, talk, etc.
Bazz is adamant about taking the baby to work with him when he does surveys
that way you can get a break
and so he can teach your little one some really cool Zora Guard stuff
it’s nice to get a day to yourself
he comes home with your little one smiling fin to fin
“Guess what we learned today?”
he sets [them] down, and [they] stumble over to you
“I’m sorry that we were away when [they] took their first steps. I wasn’t expecting it so soon.”
“It’s alright, Bazz. We can’t control these things. I’m just happy you’re both safe and sound here at home now.”
Bazz hugs you tightly
years go by
nothing seems to change except their coordination and skills
Bazz takes [them] on surveys quite a bit
and he’s always trying to teach [them] guard techniques for fighting
these two bring you nothing but pure joy
and you can’t wait for your little one’s next stage in life
once [they] hit age 20, [they] start school
Bazz picks them up EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
with the exception of the times he cannot seem to get out of work
he’ll bring [them] to work as much as he can
and your little one ends up having the WHOLE Zora guard helping [them] with homework
the Big Bad Bazz Brigade bringing up yet another child together
Dunma and your child definitely bond over this
and you’re so thrilled to have an entire community to help you if you need some time to yourself
it’s chaotic
but your little family is so perfect
and you wouldn’t have it any other way

I eagerly await angst pt 2!!!! Pt 1 was soooooo good
Sidon X Reader [Angst]
Finding out About Yona [Part II]
Tumblr media
[I'm absolutely blown away by how much notes part one has! I'm really thankful for all of the support! I hope you guys like this! Part one will be linked below.]
It has roughly been a month since I last laid foot in Zora's Domain. I haven't heard a word from Sidon since. I had abruptly moved out of the domain making myself home in Tarry Town. It has been abundantly painful, as the last time we talked we were in an argument. I constantly tried keeping myself busy whether helping Hudson, or going off and exploring new fallen pieces that fell from the skies above. I found myself walking along the edge of Akkala seeking sundelions from Hudson's request. I sighed in annoyance, they weren't easy flowers to find.
"I swear there was some growing here..." I grumbled, clearly annoyed. I pulled away from the grass, making my way towards a rock formation, leaning against it. I then sat down next to the trail resting my head into my arms, holding myself close. The thoughts of Sidon and his engagement to Yona filled my mind. No matter how many distractions I had, the thoughts and feelings always came back. My breathing started to pick up a bit thinking about the situation at hand. "I still can never get you off my mind..." I whispered to myself, as if hoping that would clear my heavy heart. I trembled a bit as my breathing was quick to turn into hyperventilation. I was lost in my mind, as I couldn't hear the sound of footsteps upon the trail, with a sharp and audible gasp. The figure seemed to stop and started talking. It all sounded like gibberish, anything that went in one ear went out the other.
"(Y/n)!" The figure cried giving me a light shake. I was startled, looking up to see a black Zora who was a guard. I was quick to gasp out of shock immediately standing up, backing away lightly.
"...Bazz?" I asked in a broken tone still not in a fit state to be interacting with others. However, I took a few deep breaths before getting into a semi-calm state to interact with Bazz. "What is the captain of the guard doing all the way outside of the domain?" I asked with a rather frantic tone. Bazz only gazed at me with a rather concerned look. His amber eyes only seemed to be filled with worry.
"(Y/n), are you alright?! We haven't seen you in weeks, everyone was worried SICK!!-" He paused before quickly clearing his throat, noticing that he was acting informal. He sighed, then stood up lightly tapping his silverscale spear on the trail. "I was personally sent out to look for you by request of King Sidon. Now that I found you, I'll escort you back to the domain at once!" He stated in a firm voice, eyes still carrying a look of concern. I stood still, trying to process everything. I only stepped back a bit more with a quick head shake.
"King ... Sidon?" I asked, completely dismissing what he had stated. "When did Sidon become King..?" I asked a little bit quieter, if anything; asking myself.
"He was crowned by the now retired King Dorephan not too long ago, after him and Master Link had saved the domain. Post-crowning ceremony, as stated before; he had personally sent me to come find you. We need to get going before it starts getting dark outside." Bazz said in a formal tone, I was personally taken aback by his rather direct tone. I shook my head once again.
"I'm not going back to the domain! I don't even live there anymore. There's no point in doing so." I snapped, feeling a strain in my voice. Everything really felt like it was coming back, not in a good way. It was now Bazz's turn to be taken aback himself. He gazed at me with widened eyes before he sighed. He stamped his spear a bit into the ground, turning his head, thinking of what to say. He gazed back at me with his eyes piercing into my own.
"Look (Y/n)..." He started, closing his eyes for a moment before he looked back down at me. "I obviously cannot force you to come with me, however I have been looking for you for two weeks straight. It isn't just King Sidon that's worried about you, it's most of the domain as well. I personally thought you had died, it took a toll on me. While I am captain of the guard, I'm also asking as your friend... Please come back to Zora's Domain." He pleaded with a bit of desperation in his voice. I sighed, before slowly nodding and choosing to go back with him. By the time we reached the domain, the sun was starting to set. The Zoras around the domain saw me and were whispering among themselves and looked at me in surprise. While it was starting to get to me, it all had stopped the minute I saw him. Sidon... His back was turned, the crown upon him that King Dorephan once wore was now upon his head. Bazz told me to stay still, as he approached Sidon whispering to him, before giving a quick bow before stepping away. Sidon was quick to turn around seeing me stand before him. He was very quick to approach me before standing in silence.
"It's you..." He said with a softened tone, his face was unreadable. He seemed to be picking his words carefully this time. I only crossed my arms at him, doing my best to hold in any emotions that I was feeling. I felt like I was shaking from everything being held in. Sidon was quick to break, his eyes started to fill with tears.
"Well?" I asked, clear shakiness in my voice.
He breathed before his golden eyes closed for a moment. "Darli- I mean- (Y/n)..." He then opened his eyes, looking absolutely destroyed. "I'm truly sorry for how I behaved towards you. I really wasn't myself then, there was a lot on my mind... I never wanted my actions to hurt you like this." He said mustering up the best apology he could in the state he was in. For a moment, I started to calm down before I saw a green Zora stepping in, standing by his side. It was Lady Yona. This immediately brought me back to my breaking point and I snapped.
"Really? That's all?!- I just... You made me come all this way just to say that? It seems all you did was waste my time! Thanks!" I scoffed angrily, clearly upset. Sidon's saddened eyes went wide at this completely shocked at my tone. He was clearly hurt, Yona placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, both of them looking at each other before looking back at me. This was the nail that finally hit the coffin for me. I immediately started turning around to leave.
"Wait! (Y/n)! We're still talking!" He cried out towards me, but I ignored him, feeling my eyes burn with tears. He kept calling for me, but I kept ignoring him. I finally felt a tight yank on my wrist, I winced. "(Y/N)! Would you LISTEN to me for once?!" I heard him speak with his teeth lightly gritting. I turned around, trying to pull my arm back, but it wasn't working.
"Let me go! All you've done was leave me for someone else without even consulting me!" I cried out with spite in my voice. He was quick to respond back mirroring my tone.
"It was a political marriage! Besides, you chose to disappear for a whole MONTH! I genuinely thought you were dead! I was beyond worried about you! You didn't even say anything when you left!" He snapped. I could hear a stomp behind both of us.
"Would both of you cut it out?! Both of you are acting like complete children!" Yona yelled out behind Sidon and I. We were both very quick to silence ourselves, turning towards her shocked. She composed herself, before turning towards me. "(Y/n), Sidon and I came to the conclusion that it's best for us to not fulfill our political marriage. My own home needs me more than ever now after what happened in Hyrule." She then turned to Sidon for him to continue. Sidon needed a minute to cool down, before his gaze met mine.
"(Y/n), look. I understand that communication is important. I'm sorry that I never stated anything about the engagement either, I was too busy with my own duties, I had neglected someone I love the most, and that is you. I've always seen Lady Yona as an older sister, my feelings were always complicated about the situation. It took a lot of talking to my father to get out of the engagement." He said with a very sincere tone. My eyes went wide at this. Before I could respond, he very dramatically went on his knees, grasping onto both of my hands.
"Sidon..." I finally muttered softly, feeling tears in my eyes as I was finally beginning to feel the weeks of suppressed emotions hit me.
"(Y/n), will you have me once again? However, this time things will be different. We will both be open and communicate with one another. No more hiding away our feelings. I now want you at my side, no more distance between us!" He practically proposed to me, looking into my eyes with eyes filled with hope. I was quick to nod at him, with a soft giggle.
"Of course Sidon! I would love nothing more than to be by your side!" I said with a warm smile, he gasped before giving me his signature winning smile. He lets go of my hands, revealing a ring, and then slid it upon my ring finger. Sidon picked me up and twirled me around laughing. We both laugh in each other's hold. Afterwards, Yona had approached me with a warm look as Sidon and I held hands.
"(Y/n), please treat him well. Sidon means the world to me, and even more so to see him happy." Yona said with a smile. I nodded in response smiling at her in return.
"Of course. I'm sorry for not acting the best as of late..." I said looking at her guilt. "I'm glad Sidon has you as a sister figure." I had finished off. Yona and I both shook hands before she left the domain.
Some time passed by, Sidon and I had finally wed, as we would rule the domain together side by side becoming closer. At the wedding ceremony, Yona and I had bonded over embarrassing stories from her and Sidon's childhood, she has also become like a sister to me. Meanwhile, Sidon and Link bonded over who could throw a korok the farthest. While nothing was perfect, it was more than you could ask for.
The End.

Character and ship ask meme!
As you are the Zora expert, I'll ask a super niche ship that I am pretty biased toward! Laflat/Torfeau!
I'm just going to append the Things that Annoy Me/I Look for in Fanfic to things I WOULD Look For/Annoy Me because I haven't read what meagre amounts of fic DO exist for these two. (Can't believe whoever originally wrote this tumblr meme assumed the things I ship are like, popular. smh.) Obligatory this got long so under a cut it goes!!
when I started shipping it if I did: Oh I do not remember when it was but I do remember coming across just the description of a fic for them and being like oooh that's cute! I feel like it absolutely must've been when I was stalking through loz-rarepair-hell from afar, haha.
my thoughts: INCREDIBLY CUTE. SOFT. SWEET. I LOVE THEM. I know at least one fic exists of them and I've been meaning to read it (along with. every other fic I've been meaning to read) for a very long time.
What makes me happy about them: they balance each other SO WELL. Laflat is polite and patient but if Link plays dumb for too long she absolutely RIPS HIM with her sarcasm, it's absolutely incredible. Someone call Captain Bazz, there's been a murder in the Domain. And Torfeau maybe comes across as this tough, uncompromising girl who's maybe a little too into her training (she's off practicing her spearwork during the night in BOTH games, I think), but then she tells Link that there's a Hinox close to the Domain and she's worried about it getting close and she's actually TRIED to take it on before (possibly by herself??) and it's like. There's an inner vulnerability there that Laflat's inner toughness balances and I love that.
What makes me sad about them: Hmm not much really! Torfeau is one of the main characters of my fic so I've thought about her a lot more than Laflat, and I imagine she has some issues with self-confidence. So I can also imagine Torfeau would hesitate for a long time about approaching Laflat or asking if their friendship could change to something more romantic. But I also imagine that wouldn't last forever and either Laflat would take that step first or Torfeau would gain that confidence!!
things done in fanfic that [WOULD annoy] me: Forgetting about their inner toughness/sensitivity and assuming Torfeau is just like. a big bad hardass and Laflat is a delicate flower, probably.
things I [WOULD] look for in fanfic: Oh gosh. Just from the way I headcanon Torfeau as being part of this group of Sidon's friends, the various romcom shenanigans they would get into trying to cheer her on. They're all..... such morons.... The seven of them thinking they're being SO SNEAKY and Laflat is just pretending not to notice. SILLY FLUFFY STUFF I guess!
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: For Torfeau - I've once had the thought of her/Laissa, one of the Rito NPCs! If I remember correctly Laissa is one of the only lady Rito who's implied to be a warrior/hunter like Teba and Harth and I was like "👀 cool warrior girlfriends maybe?" She's also particularly close with Ledo in my headcanon, so I can imagine them being together in some fashion, though both I and Ledo are unsure of what his orientation is, so whether it'd be romantic or platonic is a mystery.
For Laflat I had to think about it for a bit, but possibly her/Tona? I imagine it'd be kinda spicy where Laflat/Torfeau is sweet because I see Tona as being more flirty/straightforward. Tona being all "I know you want me ;)" and Laflat being like (Ugh yeah I do, but I can't let her KNOW that, y'know).
My happily ever after for them: in my head Torfeau becomes the next Captain of the Guard after Bazz, and I think Laflat is perfectly happy in her life as the royal secretary so, getting happily married in Zora's Domain!!! (Whether or not they choose to start a family of their own is up to the reader to decide because I certainly don't know)
who is the big spoon/little spoon: Torfeau likes being the big spoon and Laflat is more than happy with that.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: I imagine they're both introverts so a quiet evening in is good for them! I can imagine Laflat reading aloud from a book for them both. (sometimes Torfeau just listens to Laflat's voice without really paying attention to the words and Laflat's like, "do I have to start over again." and Torfeau is like "........perhaps." nerds. losers. cuties.)

Text
second terrible chapter
Being a guard must be boring as hell if there is nothing going on
contains: yawning, a frog, Bazz being a grump, morning people
As of now, Zora’s Domain sleeps, but not all Zora are asleep.
Bazz opened his eyes, blinking the pool’s water out of them as he raised his head like clockwork to glance the skies outside.
The sun has yet to rise in the sky and is still hours away from climbing high enough to shine over the steep cliff faces and mountain sides.
Palms on the smooth stone he lifted himself from the waters with barely a ripple as not to disturb the other Zora’s rest passing the armor rack.
Breastplate? Check.Spear? Check.Helm? Check.
As the guard fastened the last of the straps in place he continued on with his mental checklist.
Reservoir pathway? Manned.
Southern bridge? Clear.
Entry gateway? Manned.
Bazz nodded to himself with a hum.
Good. No sudden Lizalfos invasion overnight.
For now, Zora’s Domain sleeps, but the Guard never does. Some guards, however. Should.
As Captain it is his duty to be up before the others and track shifts so there is always a pair of fresh, well rested eyes present. Even if he himself felt anything but that right now.
He returned to the communal sleeping pools and bumped a select few of the Zora with the bottom of his Silverscale Spear to rouse them. Silently he pointed them to what post they will be taking over for the day.
As his subordinates readied themselves he visited each guard at each post notifying them of the upcoming switch and to get briefed on any occurrences that night.
“Nothing of note, Captain.”
Gaddison spoke, fighting back a yawn and barely winning.
“Of note?”
Bazz echoed.
“So there was something?”
His guard shook her head tiredly.
“Well if you must know, Sir.”  She started.  “A hot-footed frog leaped on the bridge and kept having it’s legs slip out from under it when it tried to jump back off up to five times, making it a most amusing sight.”
Bazz rolled his eyes.
“Is that all? I didn’t need to be informed of something that benign.”
“You insisted, Captain. As I said; nothing of note.”
Bazz fought down his own yawn, faring better than his underling had done.
“Come on,” She continued, far less formal now.   “It’s been quieter after the calamity has come to an end. You can take a break once in a while, Bazz. You look like shit”
“I am sworn by oath to protect the domain from any and all threats. Peace or no peace and I will continue doing so.”
“Yes, Captain.”
The other guards had equally or even less interesting nights behind them. Absolutely fuck-all had happened and when pressed for anything Bazz could write into a report of events it was just as useless as the frog’s misfortune.
‘I scratched a scale loose.”
“I watched Rivan yawn so hard his jaw cramped.”
“You should be watching the bridge and not my yawning!”
Really something to be etched in stone for the archives…
An uneventful morning to an uneventful night.
The day, eve and early night fared a little better.
Guppies played around the fountain.
Fanclub fawned and giggled.
Mei yelled what fish they overstocked.
Dento clinked away at jewelry.
Most exciting thing was Ledo who completely missed his chisel and hammered his fingers instead, teaching Finley some new colorful vocabulary (to Kodah and Kaydan’s dismay).
Come end of shift Bazz briefed those on duty again, resulting in having nothing to write in reports once again, just the backlog of administrative work to slog through. Poked awake the night shift, hung up his gear and slipped in the pool to catch some shut eye.
Wake.
Dress.
Brief.
Rounds.
Deskwork.
Sleep.
Repeat, repeat, repeat.
Without the looming presence of threat from the past century everyone’s lives turned a whole lot more monotonous. Calm. Peaceful but so, so…
Boring.
Another day. Another week. Another nothing at all.
Like clockwork. Like every day, Bazz opened his eyes the same time he always did. Got up, got dressed and ran the checklist in his head.
Breastplate? Check.
Spear? Check.
Helm? Check.
Prince? Expecting him.
WAIT.
“Your Highness?"
Bazz inquired, standing just a little straighter.
“Ah, there you are. On time, as always.”
Prince Sidon nodded down at him, joining his friend at his side and swinging a heavy arm across his shoulders.
“Go back to bed”
“Pardon?”
“I arranged for you to have a day off. Take a break!”
“Sidon, what?!”
Now it was the Captain of the Guard’s turn to drop the formalities in the privacy of a too early morning.
“You heard me! Take. A break. My friend, you have been on high alert working extra hours for decades now. Your oath to protect the domain does not prevent you from getting the proper rest you need. And to be frank, Bazz, with how tired you look all the time you look a century older already.”
“I- I- I can’t, my shift. The reports I- Wait, old?”
Before he had his tired mind wrapped around a proper excuse his prince, and friend, had pried loose his spear and popped his helmet off again.
“Are taken care of. I’m covering for you for the day, I will hear no -but-’s.”
Bazz watched Sidon spin his spear in his fingers as he processed what he had been told.
That thing is just comically small in his hands really.
“And do what, exactly?”
“Get some sleep! Go catch some fish down river, when’s the last time you even did that, huh?”
“...Your Highness.”
“Now,-”
Prince Sidon continued.
“Back to the pools with you, old friend. You really need that beauty-sleep.”
Hand at his lower back the prince guided him right back the way he came, even adding the little flair of a ‘go on, get in’ wave of his hand.
As Bazz slipped back in between the other sleeping bodies he gave one last look to the prince walking off to be a bundle of bright morning sunshine to Gaddison’s tired eyes no doubt.
Poor thing.
A day off.
What was he even going to do with it?
A problem for when I wake up.
He didn’t even fight the yawn this time, blinking sleepily.
Maybe I could go fishing again…
As of now, Zora's Domain sleeps.
And for now, Bazz does too.
