Idk I just feel like Iroh killed dragons... We obv don't know, it's just my interpretation. He met Ran and Shaw before waging war on BaSingSe, so you can't tell me he was already a "saint" by then. He obviously didn't kill Ran and Shaw, for whatever reason. Could've been out of fear, I mean they are huuuge. Or maybe he did have some kind of realization there, at least regarding dragons, but up until that point? He was a real "imma kill all the dragons" kinda guy.

Now this is interesting. I've never really thought about the possibility of Iroh killing other dragons before he met Ran and Shaw, but who knows? Like you said, we aren't told anything about that in canon. But I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

When I grow up, I'm sharing a cup of jasmine tea with Uncle Iroh.

3. Making History

   Growing up, Zuko knew he'd be a historical figure just by virtue of the fact that he was high up in the royal family at war time, but he never thought he would make history. He had thought that he'd be the sort of historical figure that only highly educated scholars knew about. When he was born, Uncle was on his warpath in the Earth Kingdom, so he grew up assuming that he would conquer it, come home, and become Fire Lord; and his family would probably be sent away to the Earth Kingdom to rule over BaSingSe and some surrounding areas. They'd be given a fancy new title and Zuko would just the second of many of that title, probably serving under Lu Ten as Fire Lord at that point. And then, suddenly, Uncle was gone, Lu Ten was dead, and he was next in line for the throne. He would likely just be the first Fire Lord in a long line of Fire Lords to rule over the whole world after his father finished Azulon's work and conquered the rest of the world. Not making history, but merely being a part of history set up by his ancestors. Then he was banished, cursed to be an obscure history fact that would befuddle kids on history tests. 'What was the name of the Banished Crown Prince, who was cast out in 96 AG?' Suddenly that wasn't true. With his coronation with the Avatar, the last airbender, at his side supporting him, having personally ended the war himself as the Regent just hours after defeating Azula, he was making history. If someone had told him growing up that he'd make history, he'd have thought they were crazy, but life had never been very considerate of what he thought.
