So fun fact about my practice:
I don't like having practical tools with only magical use. My athame is a plain old pocketknife. I use it to physically cut stuff. My normal broom is blessed & is what I cleanse with (so is my vacuum, because, carpet). My ritual jewelry is worn daily. My ritual mugs are just my morning coffee mugs, but I pick out which one is best for the working I'm doing (Death work, Ouija mug). And my herbs, hoooo boy, it's my normal spice rack.
Just because it's mundanely practical & useful, doesn't mean it isn't magical. If anything, being interacted with more makes it more powerful.
This is my rant, so as per ushe,
Go Forth & Get Weird With It

Raise your hand if you love swords 🗡️
The use of knives and blades has historically played a hugely important role in many magical practices. In the modern day, when most people think of magic and knives, they think of the Wiccan Athame—and while there is a lot of interesting lore there, learning about the use of blades in Jewish magic is absolutely crucial!
Whether you’re sleeping with a brand new blade beneath your pillow in order to suss out the evil eye or swinging a carved sword above your head to protect your newborn from the powers that be, these traditions are long standing and deserve to be talked about!
If you’re still here, use code “Swords” on the Jewitches website for a percentage of your order!

does anyone have recommendations for where to look for an athame? it's the one tool that i would like to have a fancy ceremonial version of (everything else i've made myself lmao.) i haven't seen any in any of the metaphysical shops near me & i can't get it from any stores that are in the us (due to international shipping & customs restrictions on importing blades to the uk) .
even if its just an etsy shop or smth that sell them!! i'm planning to get it sort of as a uni dorm housewarming gift to myself for when i get to set up my first fully visible altar there!!
