i have thoughts about the pjo tv show but they might not be beloved... (long post, mostly just for myself but feel free to read my thoughts) (also lmk your thoughts! im curious if my experiences are universal) (also obv spoilers for ep8)

now i recognize i am watching this show through the lens of a much older person than i was when i read the books. percy is no longer older than me - he is now just a baby to me. and the actors are so young. so that might be the cause of some of my feelings. also i realize that a tv adaption is not going to be identical to the book. but what is tumblr if not a place to vent my frustrations, despite how irrational they may be?

i'll start with the good because there were some things i liked. i thought the actors mostly did a good job. the effects and sets and lighting and design was all very good, visually i think it was great. i like the gods i think theyre mostly well cast. I don't really have many problems with grover.

ok now lets talk about my frustrations. this isn't going to be super organized or logical. first of all, i had a problem with the characterization. most characters were actually not bad, but percy didn't really feel like percy to me. he seemed kinda darker? (whats he gonna be like when its dark!percy time??). like book percy obviously was not happy all the time, but he seemed light and he made jokes and he was a little goofier and i feel like in my mind he smiled more. tv percy kinda just seems sad all the time. and this might be a controversial take, but i feel like they gave some of percy's best traits to annabeth?? like annabeth was the one beefing with ares the most when he showed up. and a lot of the time she'd have a line that seemed so percy like!!! don't get me wrong - i love annabeth and the actress did a really great job! but i feel like she was kinda percy and annabeth at the same time in a way. i missed percy. also hades was different. they made hades fun which is cute but in the first book at least hes supposed to be kinda scary!!! i wasn't scared of hades at all. hades seems like he'd be a fun drinking buddy in this. those aren't the vibes hades should have, at least not at the first meeting.

ok next!!! where is the fun. pjo was such a fun series and i feel like the show has taken on more of a darker outlook! again i realize its a tv show and it was only an 8 ep run so they probably had time constraints, but i miss the fun little scenes that make the books such a fun read! like the "say hello to the poodle" scene ? or the scene where they're telling charon they died in a bathtub? and don't even get me started on the Crusty's bed scene. they just breezed right through that!!!

and thats another thing!!!! in the book they kept figuring things out while they were in the thick of it. which was fine!!! especially for percy - hes brand new to all of this, he has some knowledge but he makes mistakes because he's a kid and he is in a brand new world! and we get to see him and annabeth and grover get out of these tricky situations and figure things out!!! but in the show they know everything basically instantly. like the lotus casino or crustys scheme. i like seeing them make mistakes and fix it!! i don't think i was ever stressed watching this show (good stressed, like suspense stress) which i guess is in part because ive read the books but also because they were never in too terrible a position. and the kronos thing!!! percy knew right away. he was like oh word big pit? must be kronos. he did everything. like that is way too quick for early percy.

and then this is just me being nitpicky but i don't like how they changed things. like the luke betrayal reveal? where was the scorpion. that was so iconic and they just completely scrapped it! i thought it made luke's character kinda scary! like this guy fully just summoned a scorpion to kill percy. instead in the show hes like swinging at percy and percy manages to hurt him. i'm not scared of this luke. young percy, away from the sea, manages to hurt him? little annabeth scares him off? he runs away? ok big man try showing up again we won't be scared. idk it frustrates me.

one more thing before i wrap up the longest (and only) post i've made in ages. Sally Jackson using Medusa's head to turn gabe to stone was SO iconic. and what a great way for her to show us and the world and the gods how powerful she is. like she went from being sally jackson, mother and protector of percy (who was already pretty sick) to Sally Jackson, Capable of Basically Murder in a Super Cool Way!!!!!! i loved that. but in the show they just have gabe snooping and accidentally getting turned to stone? if i had never read the books and was watching this show with no knowledge of the books, i'd think it was just kinda a lazy way to wrap up a loose end. kinda felt like they took sally's power away (i know she divorced him but it doesn't really have the same gravitas).

ok i do have other thoughts but this is so long already and its bedtime. is it weird that i'm worried the younger cast might come across this? they probably won't care what i have to say but incase they do come across my super long post and read it (i would if i was 15 and starred in a show with a built in fanbase), i hope they take it with the biggest grain of salt. bc at the end of the day people like the show, its profitable (i assume), and i'm just a cranky old lady who doesn't like change. most of the changes i understand why they did it and i respect it. i'm just venting here. and you know what? if they release a second season (and third and fourth and fifth) i will be watching.

i guess i just wish they maybe had more episodes, or longer episodes, so they didn't have to rush it as much as (i felt) they did. overall it made people happy so who cares. have a good night tumblr.

•talking about life, maybe how pony n curly gettin they smooch on 2gether maybe not, point is they r connecting over how fucked up their lives r, poor sad old men

•but then dallys ass alllways has to ruin shit ohhh boy🙄🙄

•tims just like “dude u look like shit” and its bc for the 100th time that weak him and sylvia broke up awwww</3333

•darry thinks dally rlly shouldnt b drinking especially w his track record of how aggressive he gets but its dallas tf he gonna do????listen??????

•quick context but a while ago i said that tim and buck r kinda like business partners cause tim still has family from haiti so yada yada buck has rum imported from haiti and tims like “give us that rn”

•imagine that whole drunk scene from that spongebob movie and thats exactly how they (rlly mostly tim and dally, darrys still a single mom who works 2 jobs who loves her kids n never stops) got drunk, darrys like on the brink of tipsy but not rlly he still needs a few drinks to get there

•at first everything was generally fine, dallys hitting on guys n gals cause whatever, tims actually dancing konpa which is rare to see him do cause hes not much of a dancer, darrys awkwardly in a corner cause he dont do to well in situations like these poor old man </33

•at least once tim went back to the bar for water but then a song started playing and he went “OH FUCK THIS MY SHIT🗣️🗣️”

•BUT OF COURSE somethings always ruined and tim and dally start getting competitive, drinking games, getting them even drunker and playing pool of course

•TOTALLY unrelated but darry and tim were watching each other playing pool and were like “aye he kinda has a nice ass no homo tho”

•now it WAS a battle between tim and dally but darry was secretly joining in a bit and won everything so take that how u will, nobody but him n buck know bout that one

•buck is maybe a BIT tipsy bc he was drinking w them a bit cause theyre all his buddy in some way shape or form, but he can pull himself together just fine after working at a bar for over 6 years he seems pretty sober

•at some point tim and dally start almost getting into it but darry picks them up by the collar of their jackets n just goes “stop” n they do cause darry can b rlly scary when he wants

•eventually its gettin a lil too late and so darry goes home and picks tim up and leaves dally there cause dally already has a room there he’ll b aight

•tims just mumbling random shit in creole and darrys goin “yea its alright man” and maybe took a slice of bread n some water for tim on the ride home

•dally passed out and its not until like 1 am that buck kicks the guy awake n says “cmon man i wanna hit the bed and need to close up” hes groggy but whateva

Weeeeell, this is a tiny bit awkward, considering the role I wrote Natemare into for Goretober 2022 (sue me, I took inspiration from FNAF lore.) But I'm still happy to write for him again! I really appreciate your patience. Hope it's okay!

(I am SO, SO, SO SORRY this took such an incredibly long time to post! The Goretober stuff and my last-minute Halloween Special Story had already been keeping me busy, AND THEN CHRISTMAS SEASON CAUGHT ME SO OFF-GUARD THAT MY HEAD IS STILL SPINNING FROM IRL CHAOS. I guess I should've expected that, because Christmas is always like that, but whatever.)

(Also, this is kind of my first time writing an x reader type story, or one specifically in a romantic sense, at least. So, sorry if this comes across a bit awkwardly 😅)

(Trigger Warnings: alcohol, eating/drinking, unwanted advances/creepy behavior, body horror, slight physical violence, strong language. Please let me know if I missed anything.)

You can be described as someone who’s skilled in rolling with the punches.

Now, rolling with the punches doesn’t always mean being able to understand things that really aren’t meant to be understood, but it seems you’ve got a certain knack.

If you didn’t, then how else would you have found yourself in a nice relationship with a banshee-esque spirit?

Yeah, your and Mare’s first meeting had been a little awkward, considering you’d been sabotaging a cult that was trying to hold blood rituals in his adopted brother’s name, but you two still became fast friends afterwards. (‘Matter of fact, the adopted brother in question is a pretty chill guy, too. Shockingly chill for an eldritch abomination in disguise, at least.)

Really, dating Mare has helped open up more of reality to you. Pretty much every aspect of the human world has a counterpart for no-so-human entities. (Yes, you sort of already knew about that, but thanks to Mare, you’ve been able to actually explore it for yourself.)

For example: the setting of your latest date.

Holy Water Distilling Co. was one of many establishments owned and controlled in Phantom’s domain.

By day, it was a tidy bar offering a pool table in one corner and a stage in the other.

By night, it was. . .well, the same thing. The only parts of it to change were the clientele, as well as certain items on the menu.

One particular evening, Mare just so happened to be up on the aforementioned stage, alongside a few of his musician-buddies. You, meanwhile, were seated at the counter, watching and listening as he performed.

(Not that you minded this arrangement. Mare’s affinity for music was what you initially bonded with him over, after all. You’d tagged along on his gigs before, and he’d never failed to make it a good time.)

Patiently waiting for him to wrap up his band’s last song so you two could enjoy the rest of the night together. . .

“Y’know, it’s always easy to find some nice toys in this place,” an unfamiliar voice whispers from just a few seats away. “But I never thought I’d see a worthwhile human around here.”

. . .and trying your absolute damnedest to ignore the stranger who just couldn’t seem to take a hint.

Similarly to Mare and Phantom, the stranger in question could almost pass for a human. Just not at the moment, since he’d obviously taken off whatever disguising veil he used (those were pretty popular among this crowd for many reasons).

His eyes bulged from their sockets, lacking both pupils and irises. Just two orbs a little larger than the average tennis ball, coming in a shade of dark pink that looked more toxic than fluorescent, ever-so-slightly rolling around in his head as he stared at you. The grin he aimed in your direction would’ve been creepy even without his particular mouthful of oily-looking needle-teeth.

You ground your jaw, feeling one of your hands curl into a fist on the bar counter.

The bug-eyed stranger seemed to catch onto that body language. Though you didn’t look at him, your peripheral vision still allowed you to see how his smile fell.

“What? I don’t get any gratitude for the compliment?” Mr. Bug-Eyes asked, his voice changing from smug to indignant in a heartbeat.

“If you really think that being called a toy is a compliment,” you finally murmur in a clipped tone, “then you’re in for a rude awakening.”

“Oh, c’mon. I know what girls like,” Mr. Bug-Eyes retorted. “I’ll just never understand why you’re all so repressed.”

“I think you’re mistaking repression for self-respect,” you observed.

You kept your focus on the stage, on Mare and his bandmates. You knew they were on their last song for the night’s performance. The music was winding down, but it was still awesome as ever. He’d asked for your help with lyrics and fine-tuning a good few times in the past, and that had been flattering enough.

But the fact that he was having such a good time singing the stuff that you helped him decide on. . .well, you weren’t sure when you’d stop riding that high, but you certainly weren’t complaining.

“Fine, fine. I get it: you don’t want things to move so fast,” Mr. Bug-Eyes piped up again, nudging his bar stool a few inches closer to you. He didn’t seem to notice how you automatically nudged your own chair a few inches further away. “Can’t I just get your number, honey? It’s clear you need someone to talk to.”

“I’ve already got that covered,” you replied. “That’s how having friends works.”

“That’s big talk for someone who’s here all alone,” Mr. Bug-Eyes sneered.

You feel your knuckles turn white. “I’m not alone.”

“Well, if that’s the case, your company isn’t paying enough attention to you.”

“That’s none of your damn business,” you hiss, trying to keep your voice down. Yeah, you weren’t shy about potentially clocking this guy in the chin if he tried anything, but you still didn’t want to cause a scene. Not when Mare was wrapping up his gig, so close to finally coming offstage and continuing his date with you. “I already told you: I’m. Not. Interested. If you were half the guy you think you are, you would’ve left me alone after the first time.”

Mr. Bug-Eyes gave a melodramatic sigh, and a sickeningly sweet smell permeated the air around you. It almost instantly caused the first stage of a migraine to flare along the bridge of your nose. You shook your head, blinking as your eyes grew watery way faster than necessary.

A chill raced down your spine as you registered the weight of a hand on your head, ruffling your hair.

You jerked back, slapping it away. “Get away from me!”

The quick motion, combined with the smell, caused you to lose your balance. However, instead of collapsing onto the floor, you felt yourself being caught. Despite your now hazy vision, it took no time at all for you to recognize the colorful tattoos adorning your rescuer’s arms.

Relief sliced through the awful type of adrenaline that was thrumming through your head.

From there, things moved pretty fast.

The environment around you was a blur as clouds of dark violet smoke poured from Mare’s eyes, from his mouth, through his skin itself.

Mare guided one of your arms to rest along his shoulder, helping you to keep up with his pace.

Cool nighttime air rushed past the two of you; you almost didn’t notice the deep whooshing sound of a heavy glass door being swung open.

And before you knew it, you were suddenly sitting down again. The weight of Mare’s arm was still around your waist.

“Deep breaths. Take deep breaths,” Mare coached. There was a slight echo in his voice; his pitch seemed a bit all over the place. That always seemed to happen whenever he had too much energy, good or bad.

You nodded, following those instructions. You raised a hand to knead at your temple. Then, after a moment of scrubbing at your eyes, you realized that you were now in a completely different part of the downtown area. If memory served, you were now a far distance away from Holy Water Distilling Co.

“Are you okay?” Mare asked, keeping a firm yet gentle hold on your hand.

You finally looked over at him. His eyes were pitch-black, the purple tear tracks on his face now branching out like veins or tree roots. His skin had turned a deathly shade of gray; if you looked closely enough, you could almost see the shapes of his teeth and skull through the barrier.

Despite his obvious anger, concern and fear were still present in his features.

“I’m okay. I’m okay,” you eventually reassured him. Your head still felt a little funny, but now that you were away from the scent, your senses were much clearer. You didn’t hesitate to hug him, resting your head on his shoulder. He returned the gesture tenfold, sighing.

The minutes dragged along, but you didn’t mind.

“Whoever that idiot was, I think I’m gonna have to kill him,” Mare murmured after you pulled away. The edge in his voice had died down a bit, and his features were slowly but surely turning less ghoulish, but his eyes remained dark.

“I won’t stop you,” you hummed, having long-since grown accustomed to his more monstrous side, “but could that wait a bit? Just until tomorrow?”

Mare squinted at you, understandably incredulous.

You shrugged. “I mean, you seemed really excited about the movie. The screening’s supposed to start in about. . .” You glanced down to check the clock on your phone, “. . .twenty minutes from now, I think.”

Mare’s eyes widened as a surprised snicker escaped his lips. “Priorities, priorities.”

You tilted your head as you rose from the sidewalk bench. “Consider it your reward for rescuing the damsel in distress.”

“Well, when you put it like that. . .” Mare was quick to follow, locking arms with you as you began strolling together.

Hi hi😁 im really glad to catch ur requests open. Ten, would it be alright to adk for a comfort fic with Akashi and his insecure fem! best friend in their 20s? Like sure akashi is perfect abd all but with each other they can share their ups and downs as young adults navigating through life. They experience heartaches and breakups and drunk nights and happy moments, victories, failures, anxieties, hilarious moments etc that theyll remember forever. Theyve fought too and made up throughout the years. Theyre both confused with their careers and perosnal lives. Akashis more sure definitely but she doesnt know where shes going. I thinj this has thr potential to br a funny story hahaha. They just sypport one another always! Maybe they end up together in the end or just implied? Lots of fluff please!! Thank u so much. If it's too vague mayve just akashi tirelessly motivating her and believing in her always never once doubting her potential? Hi anon! Let me start by saying how much I adore this idea. I was thinking of how I could incorporate the scenes you listed. At first I was thinking of writing headcanons, but I think writing a narrative of Akashi’s POV will allow him to be more expressive. Anyways, without further ado… ^^

Pairings: Akashi Seijuro x bestfriend!reader

Akashi Seijuro knows what your every breath meant.

He watches you furrow your brows, pucker your lips and make a sharp exhale as you scan the list of entrance exam passers on the board. He waits for you to find your name (there, in the middle of the people sharing your surname. He’s seen it minutes ago), and when you finally did, he observes your sigh of relief.

A radiant smile stretches your lips.

“I passed,” you announce, as if he didn’t know yet.

“Of course,” he answers. His voice brims with confidence. If there’s anyone who could put her mind to something she wanted, it was his best friend.

“Come on, I’ll treat you!” you enthuse, hooking an arm around his as you walk away from the crowd.

Your breathe trembles. Excitement zapped in with flavors of anxiety.

Even so, he’s glad you’re going to college with him.

There are times when Akashi wishes you saw yourself with his eyes.

Your hair sits like a worn-out mop on your head. Light make-up smudged at the wrong places. Eyes rimmed with exhaustion, hurt and self-contempt.

“I should’ve know,” you release a long-drawn groan. “I should’ve know he was a good-for-nothing jerk who just wanted me as some sort of a trophy!”

Akashi’s quiet gaze falls on your drink—warm milk, before a smile captures his lips. Who gets drunk on milk anyways?

“Am I not good enough, Sei?” you mewl. Your eyes are huge and watery, begging him to disagree.

He sighs. “I warned you early on that that boy was nothing short of trouble. Did you at least heed my words?”

You wince and lay your head over your folded arms. With another groan, you snuggle to the side of his arm. “I need my best buddy right now. Not a father.”

“And a friend I am,” he says. He thinks it over, and then, “He is blind.”

“What?”

“You are a supremely flawed human being. We all are. Needless to say, you are a definitely a cut above many.”

You hear the tease in his voice, narrow your eyes and huff. “Is that your way of comforting me?”

Akashi remembers the time you lightheartedly prepare a meal for your now ex-boyfriend. He recalls the genuine emotions dancing in your eyes. He hears your hopeful voice, the one that carries a song of future promises.

He wishes you’d see yourself through his eyes.

“No, it’s my way of telling you the truth.”

Akashi thinks you’re like the moon. Meek and fluctuating.

When you were kids, you always shied away from the adults. You preferred to play with him at the garden or in his room.

Whenever he invited you out to one of the family busines dinners, you begrudgingly tagged along. The polite smile on your face never left, but he could see hints of unease in the way you kept close to him.

When with his friends or teammates in Teiko, you’d exchange pleasantries, indulge them in small talks and even spill supposedly embarrassing things about him. He’d feel you stealing glimpses of him as you looked for reassurance.

“I think you’re like the sun, Sei,” you tell him one time, during the heat of an argument he’d rather not have. It was one of those times when you two walk home together in the swell of the night, university work keeping you both out longer than normal.

You’ve stopped on your tracks, and instead, you’re glaring at him.

“Pardon?” he says.

“I said, you’re like the sun. It’s like you’re meant to rule the skies. You’ve got everything figured out. You’ve got your path laid out for you, and all you need to do is walk over it.”

Akashi finally faces you. It’s then that he notices the slight glimmer in your eyes. Tears from you are rare, and that is why seeing them adorning your gaze makes his chest ache.

“I meant no offense,” Akashi explains. “All I am trying to say is that this indecision might deter you from realizing the things you really want.”

“But what can I do about it? I’m not so sure what I want to do. You think shifting courses is easy?”

He shakes his head. “I did not say that. But you need to start making choices that you wouldn’t second think at the last moment and waste valuable time.”

Your eyes flare at the jab. “Someone like you won’t understand what it’s like to be unsure and lost. You’re talented, smart and versatile. On the other hand, I have to work thrice as hard just to get by each day. I bet you’ve never experienced feeling empowered and ready to take the world one second, only to run out of fumes the next moment.”

A choked noise rumbles your throat as you inspire some air.

“And unlike you, I wasn’t born with a silver spoon up my ass! Stop pretending as if you understand me at all!”

The hurt etches itself on his face, you realize too late.

“Ah… Seijuro, I didn't mean to…” you begin, but he walks ahead of you.

“Let’s go home,” he tells you, not wanting to talk further.

The silence of the aftermath kills you, but it also kills him too, knowing that he could’ve told you about how he thinks the moon glows brighter at nights.

Akashi knows he isn’t infallible.

He’s been beaten by you in a game of cards multiple times when you were seven. He’s fallen a flight of stairs once, and just when he thought no one saw, a blast of laughter emanated from you. He’s worn clothes that were 'outrageously heinous’ according to you. He’s made you cry before, many times—sometimes because of the most mundane and pettiest of things such as eating your dessert accidentally, but sometimes because of almost irreparable damages such as when he told you he needed no one else but himself.

It was a lie of course, and you knew it.

So when he went home after Rakuzan’s defeat at the hands of Seirin, you were there, perched on his bed. Glowing with warmth.

“I figured you want to watch movies with me?” you said with a wry smile. You gestured at the cups of hot chocolate by his lamp.

He wasn't perfect. He won't ever be, but he figures that that's okay.

Akashi can tell when you're nervous.

"I'm so nervous, Sei," you verbalize his thoughts out loud, going over the mirror to strip down to your underclothes.

Akashi ducks, keeping his eyes back to his phone. "Will you please change in private?" he asks, peeved.

"What," you stick out your tongue, putting on that long, cream dress. It falls until your ankles. "We used to run around buck naked in the river when we were younger."

"Emphasis on the younger."

You try to pull the back zipper up, but it proves to be challenging given the low level cut of the dress. Instead, you walk towards him with your hand holding the fabric behind your back. With the other hand on your hip, you ask, "Well? Classy enough?"

"They say it's a trick question when a woman asks about how she looks."

"I'm serious," you hiss.

"You look presentable," he gives in, smiling a bit.

You beam at him before turning back towards the mirror. As you pick up a tube of lipstick, Akashi notices the journal sitting atop your desk.

"Hey, thanks for agreeing to this," you say all of the sudden, unknowingly disrupting his train of thoughts. "I just needed someone to be my date for this event. Otherwise, they'll accuse me of wasting a free ticket… that or, they call me unsociable. That's going to make me feel like crap again."

Akashi sighs for the umpteenth time that day, staring down at the yellowing cover and multi-colored marks of your worn-out journal. It’s the notebook he gave you a few years ago. Hands hovering above the worn out notebook, he says, "You need not to feel like crap just because there are scrutinizing eyes watching you."

"You don't get it," you reply. "This is huge for me and my career. If I screw up—"

"You will rise back," he completes the sentence for you. Akashi holds your nervous gaze, then adds, "Adversaries are meant to defeat us until we gain enough strength and means to overcome. Don't be daunted by the possibility of failure.

"Refrain from holding yourself back, and start believing in people when they tell you about how amazing you are in your own rights."

The monumental pause and gawking you give him is enough to make him grin.

There are a number of things Akashi constantly wonders about.

For example, he wonders why you always make a fuss about him. You were also like this before. When he lost his mother, you did everything to fill up the gaping hole.

“Hmm, should you use this tie?” you ask, placing the said clothing article over his chest, “or this black one? I think the black one fits you better than this red one, hmm?”

You toss the chosen tie on the chair before he can let a word out. You proceed on rummaging through his closet, muttering under your breath about how rich Akashi is and how having too many clothes to choose from is a bother.

Akashi chuckles and grabs the tie you selected. “Calm down.”

“Calm down?” you repeat, incredulous. “You’re going out on a date! You have to look your absolute best, otherwise you’re going to live down that regret for the rest of your life!”

“An exaggeration,” he remarks. “And to set the record straight, this is hardly the first time I am going out to dinner with someone.”

“Damn right, it's not. But you wouldn't know if you’d actually be dating your soulmate, right? Better make a good impression.”

He wants to argue that he doesn't at all consider it a date. It was a dinner meeting his father set-up, one with the heir of a promising business partner. And still, you frantically run around his room like a madman who is at her wits end.

He looks at your back fondly.

Here you are, young adults venturing out on new chapters of your life—still going hand in hand, inseparable. You have always been there to keep him grounded. And he, in turn, never fails to guide you back when you seem to stray away.

"Please get it right this time," he hears you mumble as you finally emerge from his towering closet. "Your dates never seem to work out, for Pete's sake, Sei. I'm starting to think you're the problem here."

"I just do not like being in a hurry."

"Yeah, sure," you reply, completely unconvinced. "But it is weird. You're like the best, ideal guy out there. No one compares to you!"

You stare down at him as he stares back with a painted gaze. Giving up, you sigh and shake your head, shooting him an affectionate smile as you hand him his gray dress shirt.

"Bachelor of the year, they say. I wonder why the hell you're still single," you laugh.

He wonders too.

And he wonders whether it has anything to do with that saccharine smile of yours.

schizophrenia is actually very similar to an autism diagnosis! at least from an outside perspective. it comes with flat tone and struggles with facial expressions and all that jazz! it can also make it really hard to think and leads to a very scattered mind??? idk how to describe it . because of the . well we call it brain scramble! i think its called something like word salad though.

the main defining thing about schizophrenia is the presence of psychosis, which is further defined by hallucinations, delusions and paranoia o^_^o

hallucinations CAN include seeing stuff that isnt there, though thats a really simple understanding of visual hallucinations. the visual hallucinations i tend to get are stuff in the corner of my eye and the walls kinda.. Shifting. nothing immediately distressing. but i know there are people with way more scarier things going on.

auditory hallucinations are something i experience a lot more, and theyre just.. hearin stuff that wasnt ever there. my brain loves the discord notification sound and like. splatoon sound effects. sometimes i hear someone yell the body's name!

there are also tactile hallucinations which is feeling a sensation that wasnt real. we get these ones the most. a good example isssss well rn im getting The Bugs. like buddy theres no bugs here you are feeling hair probably and yet even then i still feel it eugh eugh eugh. our headmates can make use of our tactile hallucinations to give me pats on the head though, which is nice o^_^o

delusions are simply believing something that isnt true wholeheartedly. i dont reallly like to share mine because im scared of people playing into them or thinking theyre cringe BUT i will share that we have fully believed ourselves to be in future london before. which is really fucking funny you are allowed to think this is funny. we are in the wrong country for that buddy. you can be fully aware that somethiing isnt true and still believe it! its fucked up! they should make that illegal. these are the mind killer i hate these little bastardsssssss... delusions are very versatile. its also like thinking mundane things are signs.... theres a lot to say on delusions.

paranoia is the one thats really easy to comprehend its just intense and unfounded anxiety. me when i overthink everything to death. me when everyone on the bus knows im gay.

also it makes it really hard to Word Shit. sometimes i cannot comprehend the english language despite it being the only one i fucking know. On that Topic. Sorry if this is Incomprehensible. i actually genuinely Cannot Tell. its usually fine but sometimes i just feel like i cant get ANYTHING across correctly.

impaired motor coordination is also a thing? which makes it hard for me to type sometimes and also do things like, idk, drink my monster energy without spilling it and pissing off charles. sorry charles. damn. UH theres also a lot of repetitive behaviours, and catatonia. it can come with memory issues and FATIGUE BIIIIITCH and BUDDY am i FEELING the fatigue today. AUGH AUGH AUGH.

okayyy i finished the new ending in Lisa the Joyful so yeah, heres another long Lisa post. this will more so have a short list of what i did and didnt like of the game since i know opinions are often mixed. but ill have a long focus talking about the new content compared to the rest of the game. and will later go on about characterization and writing in detail.

Also while you can find a no commentary video for the new ending, almost all uploads skip an earlier portion of it, so I uploaded it myself! with timestamps.

TW for uhh the same triggers- sexual, physical, verbal abuse mostly.

SO OKAY. Okay.

The brief on the main game....

What I did like:

I like the general story. I enjoyed the horror of watching more and more joy mutants arriving, even some of the warlords being joy mutants already, and normal characters like the uhh shelf vendor guy being a mutant. additionally things like wearing a mask mattering. i think it was important to too still have some weirdos bc thats one of the key things in displaying the cycle of these men's behavior. music always good too of course. i enjoy Buddy's internal conflict too and i dont mind here characterization-- its just the pacing. I actually liked the epilogues a bit more than what the endings actually told us lol... tbh they carry more weight in terms of giving us information about the past. But the ones that hit hardest are the ones where Lisa tells Buzzo to mutilate her so her father wont want her anyways. and the one with Brad's father forcing him to drink alcohol and go with him to lisa's room (to presumedly watch his father abuse lisa).

What i didn't like:

the "original" endings (not the new definitive one) were weak and i am sure most feel that way. I think actually the issue for me is the choice... cuz playing with joy? well i think the "stay with them" makes sense as she gets more fucked up and unstable (and assume addicted). the joyless route makes me feel like i should fittingly take the "leave them" ending bc she is mentally aware enough to know she still hates what happened to her and wants to leave them behind. the choices of them feel conflicting to the routes you might choose but you dont think about it bc there is no consequence to taking joy! the pacing of course is a big complaint. cuz see i dont think the story or writing is horrible i just think it needed to be longer in order to expand on all those things rushed through. the ideas would feel good if the pacing didnt speed through it. the Yado epilogue is fine too but i think just left more questions than answers than the endings themself so i would have rather done without it imo.

As stated i will go WAY more into the characters after I talk about this new stuff. I will talk heavily about what happens in it too so feel free to read this later if you dont watch it... but you really should look at the new Painful and Joyful content as they also kinda go together.

NEW CONTENT..... kind of new ending, it plays directly into it. Unlike Painful where it doesnt alter the actual ending content. and i will go over the normal endings a bit more in relation to this bc of how it affects pacing etc...

So On one hand I like what it added and on the other hand it wasnt great-- which all plays into the games already existing pacing issues. Which is a shame. i liked collecting the items, the meaning of the statues (n the dialog being the same as the Painful one), and the exploration leading up to the warlord fight. I chose not to fight the warlords because they were so damn strong and I like that there was recognition for not fighting back. Idk if i feel like there was a good reason for them to be there but I think it at least gives more meaning to the warlords since they didnt DO that much in the game other than to be killed. Most had barely anything to say.

For the bigger Secret at the grave for Lisa-- I liked this a lot too actually. Getting to hear from the guys their thoughts about Buddy that is from the assumed context theyre already dead here (w how Sticky's death is mentioned esp) is just kinda nice. The further content with Berny and Dusty, where Berny tells him to fight harder and to treat girls with aggression.... yeah that hits. The cycle of abuse really just continues huh. The rest of it is fine, I feel like it does give some better commentary on character's thoughts but it is quite short, and is left on a more metaphorical note with the flowering skull and whatnot.

Now is the part I see more conflict on AGAIN and I dont blame people for being conflicted about it. I didnt mind the way Buzzo talked about Brad in the original-- I dont think that writing was an actual excuse to Brad, I think it was just Buzzo trying to blame himself instead for everything (the new contents dialog with the sticky/rick/cheeks also had good to say on Brad's behavior and not excusing it but talking about the abuse of drugs in the context of that). I did feel that the conversation wasnt enough in the original though, to fully imply that he was talking like that or to give a better conversation on drug abuse. Buuut here we are w the extended new dialog with Buzzo. I did like how he started getting more depressed and angsty about Lisa! And the comment "she would have loved it here" is interesting bc i feel the implication is that she would have loved being in a world where all these men are now gone. but let me move onto the rest bc like, that matters the most here.

woof okay. So Buddy goes off when Buzzo says that which i get. However this conversation falters in the same way the whole game does. Buddy gets a LOT of talking time here. And she kind of keeps going in a way that really doesnt feel plausible you know? The new stuff added more connection between her and Lisa but its not enough to make us think she should be defending Lisa. I think there couldve been a neat exploration of all this comparing to Lisa but Joyful doesnt have that time. While I cant claim it, Buddy's rant kiiinda feels like a rant from behind the scenes with how less in character it feels. Buzzo is made far more pathetic and I don't disagree with this realization that he'd dissolve into a little pathetic man, again the game just doesnt have the time to make it work better.

and dont even get me started on Buddy's inconsistent opinion on Brad... this is like, annoying and I mentioned it in relation to the ending choices. After this new dialog rant Buddy sounds like she is forgiving Brad/coming to realize things about him that gives her more understanding. And i think that is fine BUT the issue is that right after talking to Buzzo the game returns as normal and when she sees mutant Brad approach, she reacts with genuine upset at seeing him and comments how she never wanted to see him again :/

I know at this point there is no way they could have "salvaged" Joyful for this release-- that would be too much and I dont think itd be right to get rid of the old endings entirely (Painful didnt, nor did the new content change anything about it). Its a shame- some of it was good. some of it i think they just shouldnt have done (the end buzzo fight) because it just conflicted more/kind of highlights the pacing problems. if anything i think leaving out that buzzo rant would have made the rest of that feel like it did help the pacing because it gave a pause between the ending of the game. anyways.

CHARACTERIZATIONNNN

righto. i think i covered pacing enough so i will try and leave that out of every comment i make here lol.

So like, I dont have a problem with Buddy's intentions in the game exactly. Her actions in many ways make sense... at least I would say that its fine she is very violent. That is literally the main thing Brad taught her whether or not you look at the start scene of Joyful, it reflects in how she would always be told how dangerous the world is too. The pace of course, makes this all happen so fast.

And of course the biggest hit that I think turns off many is how much talking there is. I certainly love hearing more from characters, Brad was quiet because he was brad, yet no one else needs to be quiet too so i think thats fine. But with Buddy's life it seems like she should have been quiet until her mental state and mindset shifted due to her treatment and justification of violence. even in Painful she seems relatively quiet and Joyful takes place right after pretty much.

In terms of others-- Rando is fine, like hes not that bad. We didn't know him all to well and what we know of Dusty i expected him to be a nice kid, esp w the whole adopted thing. But his back and forth with Buddy was more annoying w how short the game was (doing things, wanting to run to the other place and being stopped for a scene at the campfire by force. repeat.) I did like the whole deal with his friends and later his death too. Buzzo so i dont completely hate buzzo minus the fast jump in the new content. but he was pretty unhinged in Painful and to see it completely drop seemed wrong. i do think it make sense he probably felt loads of guilt for brad... but we just again, didnt get enough time with these characters.

Other characters? Well i mentioned it above but the warlords did NOT get much of any character. Which sucks bc if those parts alone had been extended (their area being longer or more full of interactions) i think it would have helped the game too. In terms of the other antagonist, Bolo, considering he was new for this game I think he was just fine. His role was small in a good way and honestly when he did appear it was for good moments that worked. The whole scene with him, Rando, and Buddy where Buddy tries to save Rando was probably my favorite part lol? Simply bc i think it worked well for all of their characters. For all of them I think it was my favorite moment of characterization-- Buddy's choices to drop or hold him both work for her i think. And yikes, disgusting moment with Bolo. And I will be real, I think Joyful needed that. The game was short so i wouldnt have wanted more but, Painful had it uncomfortable and gross moments and I think that is important to an extent of really pushing the importance of narrative and experiences of Buddy (and reflecting Lisa).

uhhhhh yeah i think thats most of what I can say. iirc i wasnt around for the old kickstarter but Joyful was a stretch goal right? and i heard Austin isnt exactly happy with it either? its really really a shame that it was a stretch goal that felt forced. I get why it was a tempting goal for people but.... it just sucks bc its clear that is why this game turned out the way it did. i wonder often if him not doing much else with the series is simply bc joyful had to be the "conclusion" and its not one hes exactly happy with either. tbh the series could have just been Painful and it would be fine. but if Joyful wasnt a DLC i imagine it would have been likely we'd see a full fledged sequel instead and it sucks it had to go that way. i definitely dont hate the creator for it but itsucks for everyone that even the additions in Definitive cant fix what happened already with that game.

Introducing Gusher Crusher, my Bugsnax sona! He used to be famous for being in commercials for an orange drink- he could crush the can in his mouth and drink it that way! Buuut after a scandal and people finding out he's been faking it, he went to Bugsnax island...

He is super charismatic and Loves to boogie. He is also very judgy and loves drama, which made him Beffica's new bestie...until he found out SHE was the one who broke the story about him faking crushing the cans.

Gusher and Cromdo get along due to a love for advertising and selling useless shit to people. Cromdo knows he himself does NOT have the charisma to do that well- but Gusher DOES. Gusher doesnt have the business sense to come up with "product", but Cromdo does!

So they quickly became a team. The reporter, upon doing Gusher's quests, finds out that for a long time Gusher COULD crush those cans- but he had a bad tmj injury and could no longer do it well, but wanted to hide it becuase he didnt want to lose his status...

He was always invited to places as "The guy from the grumpy-d commercials who can crush cans" and he didnt want to lose that! He thinks theres nothing else to him besides that anyone would ever like :(

I think the reporter then asks Cromdo about Gusher and he well..starts gushing. So you can ask him "You seem to like Gusher...a lot." and Cromdo is like "Buddy, the only thing I care about around here is these snax, so either give me some or get outta here"

But the reporter can follow him midday to the Mill- surprisingly meeting up with Chandlo and Snorpy...asking how this whole "Gay" and "Love" stuff works. I think the 3 eventually notice you and Cromdo is like "FINE ya caught me red handed. Er..rainbow handed, I guess."

"If youre gonna go snoopin around like that at least help a guy out. I gotta know if Crusha feels the same, you know? I didnt think Id feel like this about anyone since my wife left but- him..I do."

And Chandlo is like "So you want us to help you figure out if your crush likes you?" And Snorpy is like "I do have on question." and Cromdo is like "What." and Snorpy is like "Are you stupid? He CLEARLY likes you, hes not subtle."

And Cromdo is like "Oh yeah, Mr King-Of-Love-Subtelty over here got somethign to say." And Chandlo is like "??? Snorps what is he talking about" and Snorpy is like "OK ITS TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE." and kicks Cromdo and the Reporter out

Cromdo is like "I dont know why I was even tryna ask a couple who doesnt even know theyre DATING, geesh. Id ask Lizbert and Eggabel but...Obviously I cant." And you can say somth like 'Maybe treat it like a sales pitch?'

Cromdo is like "You're RIGHT. Maybe I should do this. The Cromdo-Way. Thanks buddy- I won't even charge ya this time." and You can go '...FOR WHAT?' and Cromdo just ends conversation.

So the next day you see the conclusion to the quest line, which is Cromdo 'pitching' a new product..and that product? is HIM. It takes Gusher a sec to realize but when he does hes like O MGOMGOMGOMGOMG I THOUGHT YOUD NEVER ASK

So these two middle aged advertising men are together now. You get a pride flag in the mail but theres bite marks on it and the letter says "Sorry, this was on the floor last night, we got a bit crazy. Hope its still usable."

okay so back on my anzu x idol bs. non thirsty ramble. more like. whod understand her when she opens up about her time in kimisaki and all the shit with the peace party/producer course/etc.

okay so no brainer trickstar gets her. but let's talk about others that might get her on a deeper level:

JUN. OH MY GOD. REIMEI ACADEMY IS LIKE KIMISAKI WHERE SLACKERS ARE PUSHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE HEIRARCHY AND RIDICULED. at least that's how it was when anzu attended (getting through engirls main story still. things are. slightly diff as her brother is attending but also there are parallels with ! era anyway-) if she ended up absentmindedly talking about her past with him while they're having lunch during work or whatever, he'd be like "i'll drink to that." and it'd escalate. bc now he's hearing about how the producer course treats her and he's like "well what the fuck. this is what goes on in yumenosaki??" and he'd end up as part of her protection squad. no one can say shit to her when her guard hyena is around.

SPEAKING OF PARALLELS- SHU. I HAVE SUCH COMPLICATED FEELINGS ABOUT SHU ITSUKI BUT GODDAMN. DO HE AND ANZU PARALLEL EACH OTHER. let me list some things

both were considered odd by their peers and pursued more artistic outlets instead of social interactions (both ended up in fashion)

some gender shit- anzu has always been described as more tomboyish/less of a demure girl than others (hitting people when she's annoyed, more aggressive than passive, etc- in !! we don't see it much but i chalk it up to her trying to be more professional) shu's past with being a boy into fashion/dolls and having people not really support him follows this

suzu and mika respectively. i have certain feelings about the unhealthy aspects of shu and mika's relationship, but it certainly does parallel how suzu looked to anzu (even now.)

the mental toll it took on each of them when they were ridiculed (shu with his execution and anzu with being bullied so much she had to transfer) they both sunk their time into distracting themselves (shu with valkyrie and anzu with producing)

i could go on. shu x anzu isn't necessarily a ship i see, but i think if anzu were to tell shu her story, he'd be quite shocked at their similarities. shu could comfort anzu whenever she feels that built up guilt of leaving suzu, her one companion in such a cruel system. plus they're sewing buddies. beyond that, he'd listen to her complain about whatever is going on in the producer course and he'd subtly hype her up like "Tch. It seems as though they don't value insight from someone like you. I say, you are better off without them."

Rinne. HERE'S ME ABOUT TO EXPLODE. GOD. RINNE AMAGI. RINNEANZ FOREVER BABY. HE UNDERSTANDS THE PLIGHT OF NOT BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY. HE UNDERSTANDS THAT OUTSIDERS LIKE THE TWO OF THEM DESREVE THE SAME LOVE AND RESPECT AS THOSE WHO KISS THE ASS OF WHATEVER SYSTEM THEYRE UNDER.

they both ran away from an old lifestyle and changed themselves drastically. rinne gained all his confidence and decided to be more loud and proud. anzu gained confidence as well, but is still learning to not doubt herself so much. But they have a common goal! uplift and support those who are overshadowed in the industry. Rinne with the bees and anzu with everyone else (including the bees as well) They both get each other though they have different approaches. rinne obviously respects anzu on a deep level and trusts her judgement. he's more discerning than he looks.

anzu probs wouldn't tell him anything. it probs would never come up. but if one day she comes to work after dropping off her brother somewhere, he can tell somethings off. he wouldn't pry, but he'd get it out of her. oh yeah also- younger brother issues. they both gottem. just. consider. consider the two of them confiding in each other. it's an odd sight seeing rinne look so calm talking to someone. he looks very handsome while he is serious though.

finally, madara. he'd honestly understand past her well purely bc he'd find the info. but he wouldn't say a thing. she wouldn't either. madara wants her to vent to him about the present goings on though. he wants to be a figure in her life. he LOVES her. enough to even put her at arms length so she wont get hurt. but sTILL. HE WANTS TO BE PRESENT. HE WANTS HER TO CONFIDE IN HIM. HE'S JUST NOT VERY GOOD IN SITUATIONS WHERE EMOTIONAL VULNERABLITY IS NEEDED.

god. she'd never open up to him about these things, but he'd subtly suggest things to maybe help her ease her mind. if she's wallowing in guilt over not being able to support suzu like she used to, he'd be like "oh im gonna go to a concert later. wanna come with?" and it'd be suzu's band playing. if she's having small disputes with some classmates causing delays in projects, somehow all the things that were missing from her classmate's end of the project are miraculously done. he'd also do things like be more huggy suddenly or give her rides to and from school so he can glare at whoever is giving her trouble. hell, he'd threaten mao to make sure she's treated like a princess in school. madaanz...

bonus: hitsugi and her shake hands in mutual understanding. anzu leaves every agency and becomes NEGI's sole producer. the two shake up the idol industry immeasurably, become a global sensation, and they live happily ever after.

i think he inherited the iron whale from a family member and he comes from a long family history of piracy and the iron whale has been his home since he was very small. that vessel is like the everything to him he gets so mad if anybody insults it. that is his house, his home, his getaway car, his hideout, his everything. maybe he was even born on it man who knows. either way it is a massive and very expensive heirloom.

like to think he contracts tinker any time the iron whale needs repairs and tinkers become a weird like. work buddy . theyre like on the level of chilling someplace together like "aw man what a day" and throwing back a few only i think tinker doesnt drink much

ok im going to try to be brief about this

shazam movie: dont care. still havent watched the first one

the flash: personally dont think they should release it but theyre using it as their reset movie so 🙄

creature commandos: tentatively hopeful about this one. i want a fun grown up cartoon. i havent read the books here so if i dont before its released i will probably enjoy it

waller: its either going to be really good or really bad. i know viola davis will do the most she can with what she’s given

superman legacy: honestly snyder’s superman stuff has beaten me down so bad when it comes to live action superman that i hope its just something different

lanterns: honestly sounds like nothing exciting or interesting or new is going to happen here and i know theyve been trying to make a hal john buddy cop movie for ages so im not surprised at all and feel mostly neutral about it

the authority: i am clenching my jaw and staring into the distance and trying to stave off the feelings of dread. they just dont feel like they could make a good live action movie with the amount of marketability that gets put into shit these days its either going to get production hell or end up like the atla movie

paradise lost: comparing it to game of thrones is honestly the worst thing they couldve done. game of thrones is based completely in blending british fantasy tropes and british history (the war of the roses). i really dont think that will work well for a wonder woman thing and honestly they should be taking cues from xena and like some actual greek plays and shit. the image chosen to showcase it in the video doesnt instill any confidence in visibility either

the brave and the bold: dc is never going to do what i want in a damian story and even if they did it would never last. im a little curious for what this will mean for the other batfam members before damian and doing a damian story first is good for slating in where the rest of them are supposed to fit but i do not expect this to be good at all

booster gold: out of the ones that im worried about this is the one im actually least worried about because um. i dont believe it will actually happen given booster’s track record. also the key words imposter syndrome were actually mentioned so like at least they see behind the facade

supergirl: its based on the tk book. which i read and i did not enjoy because all of the girl rage that was trying to be put in it rang hollow to me. kara has real girl rage in the red lanterns run. this was prettified girl rage performed for an audience that still needs to love her at the end of the day. it also feels fake as hell that kara wouldnt have a single person who wanted to go drink with her on her 21st birthday so tying that in as a plot point was stupid. like just have her go drink alone. it didnt have to be her birthday. anyways i dont think it will be good unless they can somehow manage to hire actual girl rage writers for it but i swear to god if theyre doing a straight adaptation i want their hands to burn

i think for the ease of understanding, the wip hell world is the Starduster world and the other one is the Onyx Magpie one. cuz theyre both significant to each story. kinda.

so this post will be about the onyx magpie crew, aka dominic, elias, and their families, but the families are just implied and there for plot reasons

also for context: the onyx magpie is the name of the bar elias owns. and sometimes elias IS a magpie so. yeah.

around a month ago i wrote 2 paragraphs leading up to the first meeting from each others pov. this was still when it was all brainstormy but the ideas are all there. i hope. enjoy? i have no clue how much or how little this actually makes sense w/o prior context

elias has rich parents. maybe his father's a politician and his mother's a ceo of sorts for. something. this man is an only child and i want it to show. growing up in a big house, alone, while his parents are often away for work. so hes also very independent. and somehow it doesnt hurt as much as it shouldve when they look at him in disgust later on in life. he was alone growing up. if they didnt care for him, why should he care for their opinions of him? ... maybe.. maybe he stops coming home for the holidays. maybe they dont know his name. maybe they dont recognize him when he passes them on the street.. but... maybe he does. and maybe it finally stings. just a little bit too much. and.. maybe he should grab a drink. his bar is just around the corner anyways. or hell, even man the bar counter. to get his mind off things.

as for dominic... i know i want him to have a brother and a sister. probably the middle child between the 3. older brother, younger sister. not many ideas about his parents as of yet. probably alive though. maybe they all grew up farmers. he knows his agriculture, maybe favors the cattle, wanting to give them a good life before they get sent to the slaughterhouse. maybe goes into the city once a week to man a stand in the farmers market. meats, crops, milk, eggs. the like. maybe gains a few friends with the regulars there, or the other shopkeepers. maybe starts going into the city more because of said friends. maybe they convince him to go out and celebrate one day. maybe he hit a T milestone. 5, 10 years? maybe more, maybe less, but still a reason to celebrate. and hey, has he ever been to that bar? maybe they tell him that sometimes, if his lucky stars align, the boss of the place could be the bartender. maybe they joke that if they tell him of the big day, he'd get a free drink or two. the place is just down the street, his friends know the way. they deserve a treat.

in short: elias has a dogshit gender dysphoria day and is about to be the bartender for dominic whos out there just sorta chilling and living the dream and just wants to get drunk with his buddies

and later on as the plot progresses, dominic gets a job at said bar as a bouncer. so thats how they become workplace boyfriends lmao

Okay so I picked up Gossip Girl because I was bored and packing. I figured why not log my opinions (because I’m still kind of bored)

- Serena coming back and expecting everything to be the same is kinda like…idk fair but also not fair? I can’t remember how long she was gone for but Yknow

- Serena’s relationship with her brother (Eric!!) is the best. It’s so sad their mom is hiding him because of his attempt. That’s fucked.

- Blair gives me the cattiest, rudest, most annoying bitchy vibes ever. She is the problem I swear.

- Nate and his buddy (Chuck) that I don’t know the name of are side characters. They look like side characters, they feel like side characters.

- I’m going to forget a lot of names…

- Jen is cute. I like Jen. She feels real. I kinda sorta really want her and Serena to be friends.

- JENNY AND SERENA ARE SO CUTE UGH

- okay if Serena would just tell Blair what happened and opened up I think she’d be a lot more understanding of her situation. Like Eric almost died that’s a really valid thing to disappear over. But Blair doesn’t know that because of Mom and she’s the original problem.

- OMG OMG THEYRE FRIENDS??? STAY FRIENDS PLEASE??? THIS IS GOOD. TRUST IS GOOD.

- sigh. I hate plot sex.

- Why the fuck does it matter what Nate and Serena did if Serena isn’t into him anymore?? Blair drop this whore ass man he’s not helping either of you. Mf is a worse drama whore than everyone involved.

- Dan is kind of swag. And I love that Serena doesn’t ignore him I know that’s an intentional trope but still. She’s not a bad person clearly

- I do not feel bad for Nate and I will not feel bad for Nate. He’s a pussy. He folds to his parents and manipulates girls because he’s too much of a coward to stand up for himself. His whole problem that he won’t face is hurting people.

- BLAIR DO NOT DO THAT CATTY BULLSHIT BECAUSE YOURE JEALOUS I SWEAR. Ugh she’s just a stereotype and I hate the stereotype. But I’m going to choke down this show anyways because I’ve got nothing better to do.

- Dad (Rufus) is actually kind of cool. I’m enjoying him handing Mom’s ass to her. It’s funny.

- Damn all the moms in this show suck.

- this stupid song about how hard it is for these privileged ass kids annoys me and it will very quickly become a political rant. Y’all have SO MUCH and here you are whining about “oh the limo is full of too much dramaaa” meanwhile y’all would probably run over a homeless persons tent on the way to the party. This rant is going to be frequent and constant. Like yeah it sucks to have no agency in your lives but it’s not the worst problem in the world and this show makes it so melodramatic. I’m sure society recognizes this (or I at least hope it does) but that’s my biggest ick. Oh and Chuck.

- there is so much SA in this show so guys be safe, buddy system, keep your phones on and tracked, be aware of your drinks, etc etc. it’s concerning

- YEAHHHH DAN GIVE IT TO THAT GROSS ASS BITCH

- Once again loving how Serena cares more about Jen and keeping her safe than her own social life and all that petty stuff. It’s honestly kind of refreshing

- oh god Nate kiss my ASS. You too Blair you petty bitch you are the problem.

That’s the first episode. We’ll see if I can tolerate this show for very long
