Hey, this is Aven, and this is my new writeblr!! I may have accidentally deleted my old one 😭😭😭.
Pronouns are he/they. I'm young-ish writer focusing on writing YA, since that's what I like to read.
Currently working on several things, you're more than welcome to take a looksie!
I'm autistic and ADHD, physically disabled, super queer, and even more traumatized, and yes I do make that stuff my whole personality. If you don't like it, then please DNI.

What I Write
I mostly write YA fantasy and sci-fi. Expect plenty of queer and neurodivergent rep, sibling relationships of all varieties, bad puns, the odd bit of creepy stuff and a lot of heart. I'm especially into mythology retellings, dragons, space operas, and exploring trauma and inner character motivations. Not so big on the romance, but I'm getting more into it.

6. Most interesting murder
Either Murder Most Unladylike or A Spoonful Of Murder! Admittedly I can't remember much of it, but I do remember MMU being interesting to me because of the dynamics within it? A teacher killing a student was such a way to start a series, and the whole fact she was her DAUGHTER? like wow. So MMU was interesting. A Spoonful Of Murder is also interesting because if I remember quickly no-one was supposed to have been murdered? So I really liked reading ASOM sort of knowing that everyone had no fucking clue about anything, INCLUDING the murder. Was also interesting because it was Hazel's FAMILY
24. Best book cover
I LOVE the ministry covers because they have actual pictures of the characters! I can't visualise faces so that was very fun and very helpful!!! I also LOVE the American covers I think theyre so cool and I love the fonts and the colours and everything about them
Also something to be said for Death Sets Sail shininess!!!
21. Set of characters who you'd love to see interact
NEED to see Eric and Alex interact!!! For that matter just Eric with the Junior Pinkertons (sidenote that the bit where he was talking to George in BITB was so sweet!) I think Alex would LOVE Eric and vice versa. I like to hc that Alex likes to draw comics, so I think it'd be wonderful to have them interact through drawing or something like that <3

Hey y'all, I have finished my first novel!!!!
I am over the moon, this story took five years but it's been absolutely worth it. It's not perfect, but hey, anyone's first try at anything is bound to be a wee bit crappy.
Here's da blurb in case you're curious:
She never meant to be a hero.
Shaellyn came to the bustling port city of Raqut at ten years old, a parentless refugee leading a band of other children who’d survived the same attack. Now twenty, she’s built a new life there for herself and her brother Emrys. Then a traveling friend arrives with dire news: the dark mages who took their original home have set their sights on Raqut.
But this time, she’s done running.
Shaellyn and her friends have a rare immunity to some of the enemy’s magic. This makes them instant targets under the new regime. It also means they might stand a chance at taking the mages down and saving their second home. If they can pull this off without dying, it's going to be a miracle.
I'm currently saving up to self-publish sometime in 2024, I'll post a firmer release date as soon as I get one worked out!

Would amor mortis clexa ever give out candy or carve jack-o'-lanterns as Halloween becomes more mainstream in the late 1900s/early 2000s?
Giving out candy is definitely not something they'd do. The manor is pretty secluded and, for all people know, abandoned. It is hard to reach, too; overgrown bushes and greenery make it hard to access on foot and being on top of a small hill makes it not too great for any car to get there. But Lexa and Clarke are pretty self isolating. They care for little other than one another and while Clarke is indiferent to children Lexa's attitude of "i dont want to have children with a man because i refuse to die to birth a child a husband will care little for" in life turned into a dislike for children. Luckily, they has been able to avoid them for centuries.
The jack o' lanterns I can see them enjoying carving them. It's entertaining and rather fun to carve out the faces. They arent crazy about it, and some years they'll skip it and other do it. It does add a creepy factor to anyone who tries to sneak closer to the manor tho, the rooten pumpkins on the path to the manor.
Bit then again, what is halloween a few centuries hold traditions for two vampires who have forever to go?

Blinking in surprise, Prudence looked down at her arm as if seeing it for the first time. Del closed the distance between them, mouth agape as she examined the designs up close. Some of them were perfectly linear and repeating, the lines almost breathing themselves, thrumming silently beneath her gaze.
CHOICE
“I can’t,” she whispered.
Madeleine’s frown was grim.
“You must. There is no other choice.”
PAST
Around them, people passed bottles and flasks, weaving past one another in an endlessly flowing river of people. Despite the rhythmic beating already booming through the streets in overlapping tempos, it was easy to pick out the distinct music of the parade. What had seemed close before was finally arriving, the assemblage of musicians and dancers forced to crawl through the densely packed streets at a snail’s pace.
DARK
“I think you’ve been abandoned.” Moving slowly, the woman shifted toward the window, frustration writ in every line of her sharp frame as she studied the impenetrable darkness that lurked beyond. “Ever the coward, our Josephine. Or do you think she’ll be back?”
