3. Spills popcorn everywhere during a jumpscare?
Without thinking about it, Alana. I tentatively want to say Peri. It's funny because they're both calmer in a real emergency [Alana more poised and Peri determinedly optimistic]. But I feel jump scares would probably rattle them.
i say, MAYBE, Arlo. But I am still figuring him out. I think jumpscares get Arlo when he's very focused or when they're ones you wouldn't expect. While Alana is jumping at every one lmao. Peri is in the middle.
4. Laughs gleefully during the scary scenes?
Farryn does, without a doubt.

Idk. I don't feel comfortable with sharing my sims at the moment, but things might change someday. No promises, though.

In my original BACC from a couple years ago I started in Willow Creek and fell in love with the world. I have no idea it was so pretty! For my second BACC (Building SimNation) I started in Brindleton Bay. For my Disney BACC I started in Henford-on-Bagley. You can probably sense a theme... I go for very rural areas with a lot of trees. I like my worlds to look more empty/unhabitated when I start the challenge.
I would LOVE to see a BACC in Oasis Springs, Strangeville or the world that came with Horse Ranch! I don't have that pack yet, otherwise I would've definitely picked it.
As for your second question...
I use spreadsheets that I keep open when I play and I update them as I go. It's very time-consuming but it helps so much and I can no longer play Sims (any type of challenge) without them! Here's an empty spreadsheet if you'd like. You'll need to save a copy if you want to use it for yourself. I haven't added achievements for some of the more recent packs that I don't own, but when I do buy them I'll add them.
I kept some of the information in the spreadsheet just to give an example of how I fill it out. I kept the section for how I do birthdays since I play with aging off but that's completely optional if you want to just delete it. My aging system is also listed there.

I went to my friends birthday party yesterday, and bought her two very expensive gifts. She just asked me to pay her back €8 for a beer. I don't want any drama so I'm just gonna do it but jesus

My sister just showed me a new Sims game pack where they make it South East Asia themed and I noticed that the map has a lot of trees. Then I noticed even more :
Now, question to America : Aren't there trees in American neighborhoods? Or you guys just cut it all down?

thinking ab how when u ask if there's any good communist city sims online ppl are like "tropico!" as if the whole thing isn't a mockery of fascist dictatorships and propagandised versions of socialist projects, like no i dont think that one is what i want for a city sim
i would love to play a city sim that doesn't focus on capitalism as the core of the economy and actually has some like. conflict revolving around socialist policy.
a grand strategy game would also be fun for me tbh. a big annoyance i have with both genres of games is how often they focus on capitalist ideas.
anyway apparently W&R:SR is the only city builder like this. i haven't checked it out at all so idk how good it is, but its early access so im not sure i want to try it yet. maybe.

Starting to get Really frustrated with the referral process for my new wheelchair since we are now on month 5 or 6 since the initial eval and I haven't even gotten to the part where we schedule a seating eval with a vendor (or had the apt accomodations figured out). I called multiple times to the place with no pickup and no callback, and case manager's solution to everything appears to be to sit idly by until things resolve themselves.
So seeing as I am *vaguely gesturing* I decided to look up vendors again and I'll call a few tomorrow to ensure they work with VR and who their providers are and then once I've weighed my options I'll literally just send my case manager a "hey I already talked to them they said they had an opening just send the goddamn fax over."
#See if this were my Last VR case manager (whom I love) this would be the point where I Ask what place she recommends#Because she isn't so broadly incompetent at her job that she would miss FHA violations#Considering apparently in my city their dept handles FHA violations#Unfortunately for this case manager every time we have spoken has been The Sims minus friendship popping up over my head#And I do not think she would be able to meaningfully give me advice#.log#I am patient but I need to see that the ball is actually rolling and not just stagnating in a corner

(Now, I want you to close your eyes and picture yourself in one of those children's arcade/pizza restaurants. Yep, that one. Musty carpet from the 90, scent of coins and sweat hanging in the air. Yeah, you know the one.)

"Wow, is that a plane or a geometrically sound bird?" Blair asks. You turn to look out the window at the invisible plane before he swoops in for the kill. You roll your eyes, but you're glad it wasn't another prank. At least this time, Blair hadn't gotten one of the employees to wear the rat suit and jump-scare you.
...
"No, no, you can take it," Darcy twists his face in disgust at the combination of cheese, meats, and microplastics on the large pizza pan in front of you. "Old-world food makes me feel bloated." He shoves the slice of pizza onto your plate before you get to object. You don't feel very hungry anymore.
...
You watch Elijah twirl his curly brown hair that sits in a clump on his head as he stares longingly at the arcade section of the restaurant. Either he's signaling you for arcade money, or he's letting you take the last slice of pizza... You're not sure if he's more interested in the food or arcade.
...
"Oh, I can't possibly eat anymore," Frasier takes a sip of his unsweetened Earl grey. You're not sure what pizza place sells Earl grey, but you try not to let it faze you. As he catches your glance, he gives a gentle smile that seems to light the rest of the dimly lit restaurant. "You can have the last piece," he says as he pushes the plate towards you.
"No, you can take it," you refute. "You paid for the order, after all."
"No, I insist."
"You're the only person here who hasn't robbed me of my pizza, made me lose my appetite, or begged me for arcade tokens. I think you should have the last slice."
"Well, I can't argue with that," Frasier chuckles before realizing the pizza has disappeared right before your very eyes. He raises a brow. Clearly, he hasn't planned for this to happen.
There is a muffled chewing sound coming from beneath the cheap plastic table. You both duck under the table to see Melony hunched over like a mouse, enjoying her late afternoon breakfast. Her lab coat pools around her, pressed against the greasy floor. You shudder at the unsanitary conditions.
"Let's face it, you two were gonna be fighting over that slice for hours!" She protests.
"True, but what are you doing out of your lab, you little mouse?" Fraiser picks gum from under the table out of her black bubble braids.
"I've been working for 18 hours, don't you think I deserve a little break?" Melony finishes the pizza without complaint. She stands up, brushes off her coat, and thanks you both for the midday snack. "Well, it's been real, but I gotta skedaddle. Gotta convention to go to," her pink eyes sparkle.
"That's right, I should be heading off, as well." Frasier sighs at the impending doom of his lunch break ending. He turns to you, his smile resurfacing, "But it's been a nice lunch date. We should meet again soon."
He rises from the creaky plastic booth held together by a few loose bolts and some bubble gum. "Blair, Elijah, Darcy!" He calls from across the empty restaurant, "You guys better wrap up that air hockey tournament. We're leaving."
Three disgruntled moans come from the arcade. Frasier sighs and slaps fifty on the table for the tip. No, make it sixty.
You can't help but stare at the strange rag tag group of people as they make their way out of the pizza joint whining about shrinkflation in the pizza industry, the alarming amount of microplastics found in old-world food, and how arcade games just aren't made like they used to be. You're not sure where that Melony lady went, but you're convinced this entire interaction was a fever dream. Four pizzas in a day? Absolutely absurd!

😊 What are your oc's career/general life desires? what do they want to get the most out of life?
She wants to be on the sim equivalent of Broadway!! (in game that's the Uptown Theatre) Sorella loves musical theatre and performing in general. I've not shown it past there being a guitar in her room and a keyboard in the house, but she can play guitar and piano. She's got her grandmother's gift for singing (and Susanna is the one who taught her guitar). Past that as a career she just also wants to have fun, and have some freedom in the city after high school. (She doesn't really know what she wants in terms of family and romance though, that's not important rn)
🧡Does your oc tend to prioritize family or friends?
Family. (And to be fair, her closest friend Summer is her cousin so it overlaps) Since Xavier had her so young, she grew up very close to her Great-Grandparents and her Grandparents. And particularly since her favorite family member [Great Grandpa Liam] died she understands how important family time is. Spending the last 5 years angry at her Dad she did spend more time with her Grandparents.
However, this is likely to change a little as she grows up and becomes a bit more independent 👀

I want to start a BACC save. What do you personally do with townies when you start? The rules aren't really clear on what to do. They say unlock the ability to talk to them, but also you have to get rid of all the lots. I don't want them interacting with my sims so I think of deleting them but they're gonna keep spawning randomly. You are planning on fully filling your BACC saves with your own sims as you go right? Cause I think I might do that if I can. Or just keep a few ones. Or place my own.
Hey! Sorry for the late reply (is it?), I didn't know I had messages in my inbox! I always love answering these types of questions and I REALLY hope you do end up starting a BACC soon! If you post it, tag me! I'd love to see it!
I delete everyone and everything, starting completely from scratch with only my sims. For ease, I'll usually download the latest version of Srsly's Blank Save, just make sure the save name is different if you have other blank saves in your game so you don't overwrite anything!
As for townies that generate randomly, I used to have some mods that prevented that from happening altogether, but they broke a while back and have never worked for me since. I usually just periodically delete those sims from my save every time I remember to do it, and the rest of the time I ignore them. The "Just Go Away!" interaction is my best friend in this case.
But yes, I play differently from most BACC players by not allowing townies in my game at all, only my played sims. One day in the distant future I intend to have 100 families all made up of babies born in-game and CAS Point sims that I've earned.
