What is a fic you'd like to read again for the first time?
Asks are great — and this is a fun one! 🥳
I’m going to answer with the first fic that popped into my head: take it easy baby, make it last all night by @missparker. I had no idea where this Kathryn Janeway/Tom Paris story was going, and I loved every minute of it. At least one chapter dropped over a weekend because my kids were being naughty and it could help to put them in the car, so I remember trying to read snatches of the new chapter at red lights.

Oh my gosh there are so many! To narrow it down, I'm gonna do first and last...
One of the first long fics I read, and one I still think about sometimes, was Synthesis by @ussjellyfish. It's a P/C season seven rewrite pregnancy fic, and later there is some J/C stuff as well. And some fun, weird science :)
Most recent was The Devil's Right There in the Details by @missparker. Brenda/Sharon friends to lovers deliciously slow burn.

I write fanfic so... yes, a little bit. Strong, complicated female characters, especially in Star Trek or anyone played by Kate Mugrew or Mary McDonnell.

6. Are there any fics from others you reread all the time?
All the time, no, not exactly, but there are a few I've definitely come back to multiple times. Dipping into my AO3 bookmarks, for J/P I'll say (in no meaningful order):
Sleepover by Syrena_of_the_lake
Extended Stay by missparker
I've just recently re-read Fly Me to the Moon by Curator because of REDACTED PLOT POINT that you have to read for yourself.
And I've re-read Kinetic Friction by MiaCooper two or three times, even though it's unfinished, cuz I'm Fandom Old like that.
And for Garashir, Letters from the Northern Continent by thehoyden
and call me by the old familiar name by simplyprologue.
There are probably some I'm forgetting!
13. How much planning do you do before writing?
Usually - like for a oneshot - almost none. For Play It Again, Sam, I had 59 "notes" across 7 folders in Evernote. More, actually, but I deleted some as I went along.
Before I even started writing that one I solidified all the rules of the universe, the default timeline, the loops, and how it would end. Mainly because I would have forgotten it all otherwise, and even so I did have moments where I panicked, could not remember how something was supposed to be resolved, and was very glad to have already written it down 😅.
24. Share a moodboard for (one of) your current WIP(s).
I wish I had one! I'll think about putting one together, because who doesn't love a moodboard. For now, instead, I'll say that the song I've got on repeat for the WIP I was just working on is Free Animal by Foreign Air:

Riley: *listening to music in headphones* Oh hey Bella, I'm just finishing my homework.

Riley: *can't hear* What?
Bella: Never mind.
Liane: Alright uh yeah I'll get that to you right away. Okay. *Bella walks by the door as Liane is talking to the Mayor*
Alex: Hello there, Belladonna. Any riveting facts today?
Bella: *dead-eyed glares at him* If you sneeze too hard you could fracture a rib.
Alex: *laughs uncertainly* Really?

Cass: Sorry about the mess. Blanche (her cat) had a bit of an accident but I managed to clean it up.

Alex: *blinks, trying not to drop his gaze* Excellent.
Liane: *after a big meal* Oof I don't think I can finish that, guess my eyes were bigger than my belly huh?
Bella: An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.

Gosh... loads of pining and looong slow burns, being caught in a compromising position, au (especially teacher aus), smut and sometimes mild jealousy
Those are usually the tags I check first when there's a large corpus of fics for a ship, so yes, they sort of have a huge effect.

crow - which school subject do you wish you had an aptitude for?
languages, definitely. i took french, italian and latin, and latin is kind of the only one that’s stuck in my brain, and i’m generally terrible at speaking them - much better at reading, but all in all, not great.
cocoa - if you could have any type of hair, what colour and cut would you have?
idk to be honest. i’m mostly fine with my hair as it is, i wish it had a little more volume/body? but since moving to kentucky, the humidity is giving it the waviness i always wanted! dreams do come true when the weather is terrible. anyway, i’m getting my hair cut on monday like early bernie wolfe bc i’m embarrassing, and if that looks good on me, then that’s my dream cut. and i wish red hair would work for me.
