I Kissed Someone (It was You)
I kissed someone (it was you) by Mouchouaru
“Kageyama,” Hinata whines.
Look, it's the third time he asks the setter whether he prefers “truth” or “dare” in the span of ten minutes, the brunette dodging his question each time. They're second years who should be examples to their kouhais and this late in the evening, Hinata clearly has other things to do rather than beg the other. He could, like, get an answer.
Or : Hinata tries to play 'truth or dare' with Kageyama and discovers they're both soft for each other.

Tanaka + kouhais, congrats on 50 followers
Got a little carried away hehe. here ya go leo!Word Count: 1244---
“Tanaka-senpai?” Hinata began, face pinched in what Ryuu could only guess was whatever deep thoughts plagued Hinata’s mind.
“Yeah?”
“Do you think that… Oh, it’s probably stupid. Nevermind.” Hinata looked down at the ground, his whole body drooping with it.
“Course not! If it’s buggin’ ya, it’s probably pretty important. Besides, even if it is stupid, I’ll still listen anyway.” Ryuu smiled, face-splitting and genuine.
“Um, it’s just that… Well, Bakeyama always gets so many confessions! Stingyshima too! And they always say no! But because they’re tall and a little bit attractive, the girls still all fawn over them!”
“I know what you mean, little man,” Ryuu said, closing his eyes as he placed a hand over his chest. Over-the-top, sure, but it wasn’t like Ryuu was exactly trying to be.
“No way! You’re so cool! You’re the future ace! I bet you get confessions all the time!” Hinata eagerly matched Ryuu’s enthusiasm, swinging his arms wildly around.
“I wish. Bald guys aren’t exactly the top of anybody’s list…”
“Your hair is so cool! Like, BAM!!” Hinata insisted, smoothing his wild orange hair down as best as he could. “Besides, Stingyshima’s hair is only a little longer than yours.”
“I guess that’s true. Well, anyway, this is about you! Don’t worry about how much attention you’re getting from the girls. You and Yachi are super close, right? What matters is the depth of your relationship, not how many you have. One genuine friend is way better than a hundred confessions!”
“You’re so wise Tanaka-senpai!” Hinata cheered.
“Well of course I am! Call me senpai again!”
“Tanaka-senpai!”
“Hell yeah! Popsicles after practice!”
“Woo! Tanaka-senpai is the best!”
---
Tsukishima didn’t normally do things like this. It was jarring to see him, mild flush on his cheeks, bowing out of politeness, especially for Ryuu. Sure, the two occasionally got along, but mostly when there was a more irritating target for them to verbally harass. Most days saw the blond beanpole mocking Ryuu for his enthusiasm.
“Tanaka… senpai,” Tsukishima said, lifting from his bow. “I would… like to go to Sakanoshita after practice. As thanks for helping me with my blocks.”
Ryuu could cry. He felt the tears welling up in his eyes, furiously rubbing at them so as not to start bawling in front of his… well, ‘adorable kouhai’ didn’t quite match the one-hundred-ninety-centimeter salt shaker before him, but Tsukishima at least looked nicer when he wasn’t insulting everyone within a thirty-foot radius.
“Hell yeah, Tsukishima!” Ryuu exclaimed, reigning in the overwhelming flood of emotions. The other boy flinched, a scowl briefly crossing his features.
“Try not to yell,” Tsukishima said, though he sounded incredibly doubtful as to whether Ryuu could manage that.
“Sure thing!” Ryuu said, flashing a thumbs-up.
Despite agreeing to be quiet, Ryuu was quite loud as he led the blond down to the shop, talking animatedly about how much the other boy had improved in blocks. Tsukishima didn’t say much of anything, though his ears were tipped with pink the whole time Ryuu complimented him.
When they finally reached Sakanoshita, Ryuu bought him a popsicle despite his protests.
“I’m supposed to be showing my appreciation,” Tsukishima said, still holding his wallet open. Ryuu waved him off.
“A good senpai always pays! Don’t worry about it all.”
“Whatever. Thank you,” Tsukishima said, not quite looking at Ryuu when he said it. Maybe ‘adorable’ didn’t quite fit Tsukishima, but Ryuu might settle for endearing, or at the very least, tolerable, when he tried.
---
Kageyama quietly studied his hands on the bench, expression unnecessarily intense like it tended to be. Ryuu jogged over to him, clapping him on the back probably too harshly.
“Wow Kageyama, ya tryna burn a hole through your hands?” Kageyama startled briefly, looking up at Ryuu instead of his hands.
“What? No, of course not. I couldn’t play volleyball if that happened.” Ryuu could tell by the furrow of his brows that Kageyama was being genuine.
“That’s not— You know what, nevermind. Why are you lookin’ at your hands?”
“I have a hangnail. It’s really bothersome.” He was back to looking at his hands, and Ryuu noticed that his middle finger passed over his index a few times, likely pulling at the hangnail.
Ryuu sighed. “Just put some tape over it if it’s botherin’ ya.”
“Why would I do that? It’s just gonna make tossing the ball even harder.”
“Its tape! You can’t possibly notice that much of a difference!”
“I can,” Kageyama insisted.
“Fine. What can I do to help?”
“I didn’t ask for help,” Kageyama said.
“I’m offerin’, goober. Is there anything you need help with?”
“Well, if you could, I’d appreciate it if you told Tsukishima to stop half-assing his jumps. He doesn’t listen to me.”
“And you think he’ll listen to me?”
“Um. Maybe not.”
Ryuu shook his head. “Besides, I was offering help with your hangnail problem.”
“Oh. Well, you can’t help with that. Just gotta wait until it goes away.”
“Maybe if you called me your favorite senpai, you’d feel better,” Ryuu said.
“Sugawara said I could only call him my favorite.”
“What?! Jeez, say it anyway!”
“Alright. Tanaka, you’re my favorite senpai.”
“Woo! Do you want a popsicle after practice?”
“Sugawara alre—”
“Damn you Suga!” Ryuu yelled, pushing up his sleeve as he turned to face the silver-haired setter.
Sugawara just snickered, hiding his smirk very poorly behind his hand. “Sorry, Tanaka. Looks like I’m the better senpai today,” he said, winking. Ryuu was going to aim a spike right for the stupid mole under his eye.
“Get back to practice!” Daichi yelled, and the other boys jumped up quickly, returning to the court to avoid Daichi’s wrath.
---
Yamaguchi’s tenacity was admirable. Ryuu knew he practiced serves more often than anyone else at practice, eyes uncharacteristically intense and focused. He also knew it took quite a bit to put up with Tsukishima as often as he did, though it was possible Yamaguchi actually liked the bastard so he didn’t mind as much as everyone else on the team did.
“Yama-yama! Aren’t you tired of practicing?” Ryuu asked, already beginning to toss the stray volleyballs from his practice into the cart.
“Oh, is it already time to go?” Yamaguchi asked, gripping the ball a bit tighter.
“Well, I’m closing up tonight, so I’ll hang around if you wanna stay a bit later. I’ve got nowhere to be.” Not exactly true, as he had a project he really ought to get started on due next week.
“Only if it’s not a bother.”
“Just help me clean up after and you’re all good!”
Yamaguchi nodded resolutely before turning back to the net, breathing in deeply to regain his focus.
Ryuu continued cleaning up while Yamaguchi practiced, whistling to himself cheerily to help the time go by faster. He was just pulling the brooms out of the closet when Yamaguchi shouted.
“Woo! I got it! Tanaka-senpai! I hit all the bottles!”
Ryuu peeked curiously past Yamaguchi to see all the water bottles knocked on their side.
“Damn, you’re crazy! I don’t even think that pretty boy from Seijoh’s got that kind of accuracy!”
Yamaguchi flushed bright red at that. “That’s way too much! I’m not even close to Oikawa’s ability!”
“Hell yeah, you are! Do you want a popsicle from your coolest senpai ever to celebrate?”
“I don’t want to impose—”
“No worries at all! My treat!”
“Are you sure?”
“Totally! Gotta keep Karasuno’s number one pinch server happy!”
“Tanaka,” Yamaguchi groaned, hiding his face in his hands.
“Hahaha! Let’s hurry and clean up so we can go!”
“Okay,” Yamaguchi said, before starting to the other side of the court to begin picking up the volleyballs he’d sent over.
Yamaguchi made sure to thank Ryuu profusely for letting him stay at the gym, and later, for buying him a popsicle despite it being the only one left. Ryuu wasn’t even all that upset when he didn’t get to have one, much too preoccupied with just how happy Yamaguchi seemed to be at the small gesture.
“You’re a really great senpai, Tanaka,” Yamaguchi said, quiet enough to barely be heard. Ryuu doubted he’d ever go a full day without crying about how incredible his kouhai were.
“W-wait! Don’t cry, Tanaka-senpai!”
“I’m just so happy! You’re the best!”

Karasuno Boys with a Taller Girlfriend
For reference you are 190.4cm (about 6′3)
Tsukishima Kei
Tumblr media
Tsukishima hates the fact that he’s shorter than you but he loves you too much to tell you that
When you gets self conscious about her height he feels bad inwardly because he may or may not have felt that way before
The height difference isn’t that much but your height is not something he cares about in a person
“Its a good thing you’re tall. If you where a shrimp like Hinata I’d just lose you all the time.”
Secretly wants to be cradled by you
Asahi Azumane
Tumblr media
HE was scared of YOU
But only because he didn’t want to hurt your feelings when he commented on how tall you where
“I didn’t know girls could grow this tall.” he had said passively
When you drooped the poor baby started to cry
He sticks up for you when girls say that you’re a freak for being to tall
Asahi can’t bring you around Noya because Noya likes to climb the both of you like a monkey climbs a tree.
Kageyama Tobio
Tumblr media
Forgets that you’re tall sometimes
Like how??? You’re taller than him by a good inch or two??
“You drank milk as a child. You drink milk now. You’re taller than the boke. How do I not like you?
Makes you throw him sets
Makes you practice recieves with him
Tells Daichi to tell Michimiya that you’re amazing at serves and blocks and that you should totally be on the girls team
Update you’re now on the girls team as a middle blocker
Yamaguchi Tadashi
Tumblr media
WAS 100% AFRAID OF YOU
You confessed to him
At first he thought it was a joke but when you told him that it wasn’t a joke and you were just tall he felt so bad that he started to cry
You both cried a lot and then he asked if you wanted to go to the convenience store after school
Yamaguchi is a lot shorter than you but it’s fine
But he’s accidentally calls you Tsuki all the time because you look exactly like him
Tsukishima once asked you to dye your hair so that Yamaguchi would stop confusing the two of you and you did
Then Yamaguchi called you Asahi because you dyed your hair brown
Your height and hair colors confuse him
Tanaka Ryūnosuke
Tumblr media
DOES NOT CARE THAT YOU’RE TALLER THAN HIM!
Loves you anyway because you cheer him on during practice and his games
Lets you sleep on his shoulder
Gives you his jacket even though it really doesn’t fit
Lets you sit in his lap by manspreading a bit and sitting on the floor
Daichi Sawamura
Tumblr media
It’s canon that he’s a little discouraged about his kouhai’s being taller than him
He might forget that you’re taller and go to lean on your shoulder and then falls
Has tried to carry you bridal style
Has failed to carry you bridal style
Also another one who secretly loves being cradeled
HE’S AT THE RIGHT HEIGHT TO LAY HIS HEAD IN YOUR BOOBS THO SO-
Holds your hand. A LOT
Blushy blushy blushy boi
Sugawara Koushi
Tumblr media
Like Yamaguchi he also thought this was a joke
But secretly you’re height makes you look like an angel to him
Takes you on all the dates
Wants to take selfies all the time but baby can’t reach
Has a whole photo wall in his room of your photos together!
You helped him hang them up!
He tells you that you’re the star of the Christmas tree
You laughed so hard at that which made him blush in embarrassment
Hinata Shōyō
Tumblr media
He is so jealous of you’re height difference and always asks you to sit so he can look down at you
He likes to stand on chairs around you so he can give you forehead kisses
When he’s tired he lets you carry him piggy-back but only after everyone else has left so no one makes fun of him
Likes to go on bike rides with you but he has to work harder to keep up with you
Sometimes Hinata will surprise you by taking a running start and using his volley ball jump to give you a kiss on your lips but the last time he did it, you both smacked your heads together
Nishinoya Yuu
Tumblr media
Monkey monkey monkey man
No seriously he loves climbing all over you
He loves being cradled
Even though people make fun of your height difference he has bit someone because they called you a freak of nature
BARK BARK BARK BARK
He picks you up every day before class and walks you home because he’s gotta protect you from what I have no idea

Sexuality HC
Tumblr media
☞ i have so many headcanons for the haikyuu boys’ sexualities, so i figured i’d share them :) (remember, these are just my opinions!)
☽ character hc for : tadashi yamaguchi
☽ characters mentioned : tsukishima kei, yuu nishinoya, tanaka ryunosuke, kiyoko shimizu, hinata shoyo, kageyama tobio
☽ ship mentions : tadashi yamaguchi x yuuji terushima (my ultimate rarepair)
☞ this is just a bunch of random ideas thrown together bc my brain just spits out stuff i like to call my ✨adhd thoughts✨
okay so growing up, yams just had so much love for everybody and was a shy lil babie
when he and tsukki became friends, they never really talked about girls bc tsukki was never interested and since tsukki wasn’t interested, yams never really thought about it
when he met Noya and Tanaka, he was confused as to why they swooned over Kiyoko so much-after all, she didn’t really talk that much so how could they know what she was like?
one day in the locker room tanaka is just gushing his heart out about Kiyoko, and he turns to Yams and is like “Isn’t she just the greatest girl in the world?” And Yams just freezes up bc yea, i mean, Kiyoko is pretty but, what is she like? So he just says “Sure” and goes along with it but ends up confused
after that he starts looking at Kiyoko more, trying to see what they see, but he still just doesn’t understand. ‘I guess she is very nice. And comforting, and she cares for the team. I can see how they like her now’
another time in the locker room they’re talking about this random first year girl and Tanaka is like “Why don’t any of my kouhai’s go for her? She’s smokin’ hot” and all Yams could think was ‘She has the same personality has a wet paper bag.’
in their 2nd year, he gets a crush on Teru after they run into each other at another tournament. Tsukki confronts him about it and is like “You like a guy so... are you gay?” And Yams never even thought about the fact that Teru was a guy. He just... liked him. So he’s like “Um....I guess?”
so this leads to more confusion and Yams searching “how do you know you’re gay” into google and the articles just don’t sit right with him; he’s not attracted to JUST boys, he did like a girl in elementary. But Teru was a boy, but he didnt like him bc he was a boy. He just did.
after going through like the 30th article almost giving up until he sees one little sentence “Am I gay or am I Pansexual?” And he clicks on it and reads and SUDDENLY EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE
so he calls Teru at like 3 in the morning and as soon as he answers Yams is like “IM PANSEXUAL” and Teru’s like “Yea? Congradulations, look i love you, but it’s 3am so we’ll celebrate later” and hangs up and neither of them fully realize what he just said until they hang up
3rd year rolls around and all of the guys are in the locker room once again and they’re talking about relationships and Hinata is freaking out bc he doesnt know the first thing about them and so he asks Yams how he got someone so attractive and he’s just like “Uh I never really care about looks, so I was never worried about whether i was going to date someone hot or not” and they all just gape at him like
and so they ask about his sexuality and they all just start talking about their own stuff and Yams just says “I mean if I had to put a label on me I’d say I’m pan, but like I get to love whoever like why are you so worried about this-“ and the rest of them are just in their own panic and Yams is the calmest one in the room for the first time in forever and thats enough to make anyone shooketh
They call Teru right then and there to ask him about his sexuality bc they’re all confused and he’s like “Umm I’m bi. Are we having a nice little sexuality talk rn? Jeez you guys are clueless” And he just sends an article to each one of the third years and Tsukki doesnt even look bc he knows what he is but Hinata and Kags just look at their phones and see “How to come to terms that you are homosexual” and just combust
Yams becomes the poster child for all of the teams sexuality crisis’ and he gladly helps everybody bc he knows what he felt like a year ago and wants to help everybody.

Captain’s List of Firsts
Tumblr media
Yamaguchi’s extra journal was picked up by another third year. There is no return address or phone number on the bottom right of the notebook for owner info. Surprisingly enough, you start to flip through the pages and land on the one clue that is a really cute manga image of you staring out of the window during college-prep number theory.
It’s been a month since the notebook makes it’s way to your hands. You don’t make it known to the rest of the student body you have a notebook filled with personal detail about a sports captain who may have confided on its lines the embarrassing lists they made in their free time. Some of them were really funny, like the first time a girl asked for his number, not his best friend since the second grade was on the list of the things to accomplish in first year. The next page was filled with various third year advises and well-wishes when they graduated in what you presume his second year. Then, you flip further through the thinning notebook to a pen-sketch of someone you recognize as ‘drop-dead gorgeous,’ and when you mouth out the kanji, you realize it’s a portrait of yourself staring out the window since your extra hair tie was on your right wrist and your pencil was tucked behind your left ear. You deduce the owner either was in your class, or at the very least, had an photogenic memory.
“What ya reading bestie?” A voice you recognized as your bet friend since middle school also attended your soon to be alma mater. Graduation for the third year class at Karasuno was already scheduled for the Sunday after the last round of finals. A majority of the clubs had also already filled the vacancies their third years would be leaving behind. Well, all except a handful of sports team. The volleyball team being among those ever since the third years from your first year stuck by their team to the point they were no longer deemed flightless. Your friends and their older siblings who went to other schools in the Miyagi Prefecture went to scope out a few of their games, hell, you were even dragged into going to one. You heard the team at Aoba Josai was really good, according to you overhearing one of the starting member of the team exclaiming that “Oikawa Tooru is the Grand King?! And he was your senpai??” right before lunch break was over.
Barring any other excuses, you finally cave and finally decide to see what the hype was about; and your were so damned glad you went. You notice there were a few first years on the team as well since you were in the classroom next to theirs in college prep. You were able to point out Tsukishima Kei, Yamaguchi Tadashi, and the overly energetic Hinata Shoyo along with the ever charming enigma of Kageyama Tobio (your friend fills you in since they never stick to one social circle since they started high school). When you remember the coolest jump serve from your school’s side of the court being performed by the spear (with thick hair and gorgeous freckled skin).
“The notebook, again?” Your friend says perplexed by the way you hurriedly stash the journal back into your desk, paying no mind of the loose page that fell to the floor under the desk. “Look, don’t you think you should at least attempt to find the owner by now? What difference does it make when we graduate next week?”
You sigh nodding your friend was right.”It’s been a month since it was lost, Zee. I’m sure the author already moved on.”
Elsewhere on campus, in the gym, spare practice was finally underway. The passing of responsibilities for the third years to their second year counterparts was happening for the volleyball team. It was the last time Yamaguchi gets to inspire his team and he wrote a few drafts of his farewell speech, which made the managers cry, not out of sadness, but a little pride as well.
“I’m not ready to say good bye,” Yachi frowns. She is being hugged left right and center by her two kouhai who were inserting the co-manager jobs together. The last person to hug her was a few of the players whom she remained close to. Hinata and Kageyama were talking to the new wearers of their jersey numbers giving some last minute advices to “never strop learning,” and “don’t forget the strongest six stays on the court the longest.”
“Above all else,” Yamaguchi, who crosses his arms with an authoritative tone continues. “Remember to stand proud, because what else do you need but pride.”
His best friend, and one of the most talented read-blockers that year, chuckles.
Your friend was rounding the corner with a few snacks in their arms when the boys volleyball team files out only to hear the worried expletive of two members chat. Well, more like panically look for something.
“It’s probably at home, Yams,” one of the last first year members says to their captain who is still rummaging through his backpack. The first year was the one behind taking the photo that would serve as Hinata’s instant cure of homesickness when he makes the leap to learn beach volleyball.
“Y-hah-Yeah.”
“What’s so important about these notes anyways?”
Your friend dashes around the corner when the snacks hit the floor to text you the name of the person who owns the notebook. You were going to flip out if you knew, so before shortly after they hit send, you ponder about making a hand written sign to pin on the third year forum board. Unfortunately for your friend though, they bumped into the chest of one tall blonde kid.
“Oh shit,” they mutter. “Hi Tsukki-kun.”
Your phone vibrates in the bathroom closest to the roof access for the science wing. You ask your homeroom sensei if it’s ok to take a walk before finally settling down for the last couple of lessons for the day. Luckily, you had Takeda-sensei as your assigned homeroom teacher, so he was more understanding than most. You notice your friend’s name attached with the dancing envelope emoji.
“Volleyball club?”
You were confused by this text, however since you knew they were an avid fan of the sport versus your casual fan status, you deduce they were letting you know where they were hanging out. It didn’t really help your friend found a few members of the team kind of stupidly handsome. You just liked one of then versus your friend’s heart-eyes emoji whenever talking to the student athletes around campus.
“How much of that did you hear?” Tsukishima presses. Yamaguchi zips up his backpack and begins to walk toward the side of the hallway he hears his friend’s (and one acquaintance from the cheer squad) was coming from.
“Yams-kun lost his notebook,” they lie.
Their eyes were sort of telling their fellow third year the truth.
“You know where it is? I lost it about a month ago…?” Yamaguchi states, kind of bummed out about losing the best sketch he created out of the extra time left one morning before spring break.
“I, ugh, umm….Look! Nekoma’s new captain is outside the gates!”
Your friend makes a run for it to try and find you. Sometimes, they really wish they were better at fast getaways because the years of volleyball practice and conditioning training made both Tsukishima and Yamaguchi faster than before. Honestly, Yamaguchi wasn’t watching where he was going, and he literally tripped over a familiar pair of shoes, thus landing on top of you. You groan when your head collides with the waxed floor, Yamaguchi’s nose is pressed sharply against your sternum against something warm and soft. To the birds outside the window on the oak tree, it looked like Yamaguchi’s body was sleeping against yours, thankfully you learned how to take a tackle to the ground, but you weren’t expecting the person on top to cage you in. He hasn’t had a dive like that since the season wrapped up.
“Ow,” both of you groan.
Your friend doesn’t have time to go back and ask if you’re ok because currently, they found themselves in a wild sort of accidental kabedon with a scowling middle blocker.
“Oh my god. Oh my god,” Yamaguchi is the first to come to his senses, the rapid repetitive phrases was a by product of the embarrassing situation. He climbs off of you, helping you sit up once he’s back on his knees. Then he bows whole body and all begging on for you to forgive him.
“Yamaguchi,” you sort of laugh at his posture, but he still repeats his apology, thinking you didn’t hear him he first time. You thought it was kind of cute, a little weird, but cute. Your hand cards through his hair, and he pauses long enough to hear your voice dance in the air calling him by his first name.
“Tadashi-kun, you’re fine. I’m sure Tsukishima-kun is taking care of my friend too. Y’know how those two love to argue,” you scoff before seeing him peel himself off the full-body apology bow.
“You can make it up to me by helping me to my feet after you tell me why you three were running in the halls in the science wing,” you suggest. Yamaguchi rises to his feet first, then extending his hand toward you, which you take, the captain pulls you up.
“Ever read romance manga?” Yamaguchi asks, sort of shaking the awkwardness out of this situation.
“All the time. Why’d you ask?”
“No reason.”
You hum. You don’t mind nor bring up the fact that his hand is still wrapped around your palm, nor do you choose to acknowledge the butterflies the physicality of his warmth fills your stomach. If this is the most you’re going to talk to the captain of the boys’ volleyball team, you might as well test the waters to see if he could be trusted. Yamaguchi being the precious soul he is, passes your mini-test with flying colors.
“Well, since you did answer my inquires as well as you could, I suppose I can trust you with what I’m about to say,” you both have since separated from holding hands. You stick your hand in your school blazers.
“On the last week of March I found this notebook when I was cleaning this classroom…”
The end of the school day draws near and your teacher decides today to pair you up with one of the other cleaning students from across the hall. You’re half surprised in the serendipity of it being Yamaguchi today. The notebook is long forgotten in the empty and locked classroom when he cups your face to kiss you. You don’t stop him from pushing you against the wall next to the blackboard, caging you in, an arm of his supports him as he leans against you, the other, still rests against your jaw when he backs away to look at you. You are sort of coming down from cloud nine at the moment. His mischievous glinting eyes study your nervous features; he wants to kiss you again, only if you’re who he’s looking for. Trick answer: you were who Yamaguchi is looking for.
“I heard from Tsukki who had my notebook during lunch,” Yamaguchi’s hands trace over your bottom lip, chuckling at the guilty doe-eyes you give him. You were ratted out by your friends and when you begin to explain how you were going to return it, he shakes his head.
You stutter as you being to ramble about how you found it and where, then the sketch you found, amongst other things.
“Sweetness, I’m not upset. Actually I’m glad you’re the one who found it…” his lips are warm against your forehead when he gives you a peck there.
“I’m glad,” you smile at him. “I thought you’d be mad.”
“At you? Never,” his voice is calm. You kiss the corner of his mouth. Yamaguchi smiles cordially when you kiss his jaw line.
“Tell me how far did you actually get into that notebook because I’m sure there are other things we could cross off right now.”

pairing: hisashi kinoshita x reader
word count: 1.8k
genre: fluff
warnings: fem!reader, some cursing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“hitoka-chan, could you help me with the bottles please?” kiyoko asked while carrying two crates of empty bottles.
“r-right!” the blonde responded, taking two other crates of empty bottles.
the two managers were currently getting the gym ready for the practice match that was about to take place. this was the match that the team has been waiting for. another match against date tech. being formidable rivals for the karasuno volleyball team,this would be their last practice match before heading to spring nationals. the team had to make this count.
“is everyone warmed up? remember how tough they were as our opponents back at the preliminaries, and they are bound to be tougher now.” ukai’s words reverberated through the gym while some of the members were just finishing their stretching.
“yeah, we are coach,” daichi confirmed, a chorus of agreement resounding after.
“you know kinoshita, you should be ready,” ennoshita commented.” “coach might sub you in to serve.”
“what? no way,” the light-colored brunette scoffed in disbelief, “if he needed a good pinch server, suga or tadashi would be a better choice.”
“you know kinoshita, have more confidence in your serving. you have enough confidence to shit talk us, so why not project that into serving?” tanaka gruffly added as he swung his arm around the now startled kinoshita.
“yeah! even i haven’t been able to pick up some of your serves hisashi,” nishinoya chimed in as he walked up to them.
“alright, alright, i get it, shut up now,” kinoshita grumbled in defeat as he pushed tanaka off him. laughter ensued until they heard hinata shout, “they’re here!”
the date tech volleyball team walked into the gym, including their two managers.
Tumblr media
“mai-senpai, y/n-chan do you need help with that?” koganegawa asked while shuffling back and forth.
“for the last time koganegawa, i am in the same grade as you!” you shouted at the tall setter.
“right, right, sorr- SHOYO!! TSUKI!!” his attention immediately snapped to the two players as soon as he spotted them in the gym, taking off after the two and abandoning your conversation..
“and you’re telling me i’m the one that can calm him down, captain?” you pointedly looked over at futakuchi with a raised eyebrow.
“you've accomplished more than most of us y/n-chan,” he responded, cruelly mimicking what koganegawa had addressed you as.
sighing, you make your way inside and help set everything down. afterward, you walked to where the managers and coaches for the karasuno team were and thanked them for having your team over. before making your way back to your team, you waved towards a group of players on the other team.
“flirting with the opponents, y/n?” the libero of your team, sakunami teased when you returned with their filled water bottles.
“oh, shut up,” you scowled as a familiar blush creeped sneakily onto your face.
“oh i know you aren’t hiding something from your best friend,” he continued, carrying emphasis on the last few words. “is it still the number seven from karasuno?”
“yeah, and if it is?” you asked while walking ahead, not caring if you left sakunami behind.
“nothing, it’s cute. just don’t let the captain know.”
“yeah, i know. okay, i’m leaving you for aone-san now.”
“should've known.” he laughed as you walked away. “get his number!” he yelled as you waved him off, already knowing the answer after all.
Tumblr media
“here they are,” ennoshita sighed, knowing this would be an exhausting yet beneficial day.
“the pretty managers! wait, no! kiyoko we’re sorry!” tanaka and nishinoya cried in unison when they noticed kiyoko, falling to their knees almost comically.
“tanaka, nishinoya, get up. you guys have a game.” kiyoko walked past with her head held high without so much a glance their way..
“YES!”
“imbeciles, i tell you..” kinoshita sighed as he stretched his neck.
“you’re one to talk, kinoshita,” narita quickly rebutted.
“yeah if i recall, you were staring at the first-year manager,” ennoshita softly taunted as they slowly crept up on kinoshita.
“guys it's not that big of a deal; she’s just really pretty, t-that's all.”
“is my kouhai developing a crush?” sugawara sweetly chimed in as he walked up to the group. he had the intention of telling tanaka and noya to get up but stayed for the possibility of kinoshita liking someone.
“suga-san! it’s nothing like that..”
“oh, it so is! we saw how you were looking at her in the prelims.” sugawara pointing at him, almost as an accusation.
“okay okay, it is! i don’t even know her that well!” kinoshita said, putting his hands up at sugawara’s targeting accusation.
“ask for her number! or ask her on a date–actually, do both.” narita encouraged.
“oh wait, don’t tell me you’re scared or something?” ennoshita mocked further, setting no end to their ridicule.
“oh shut up! i don’t need you guys telling me something i was already going to do!” he yelled at the pair that was laughing, which soon ceased when he started pinching their arms.
“ow ow ow! we get it! sugawara-san!”
“not my turf boys,” he said as walked away from the second years.
“sugawara-san get back here!” kinoshita shouted to the gray-haired setter.
“you can’t do this to your mother, young man!”
“suga what-“
“kinoshita!” daichi yelled.
“sorry!” he shouted back while making his way back to the second years.
the certain manager he had been looking at had gone to talk to the managers and coaches. by the time he got back, the rest of the second years went back to talking, with the occasional teasing. he turned to face forward where she was walking by. she stopped for a second to wave at them and then keep walking. kinoshita’s face turned pink at the cheeks, so the teasing intensified.
the matches had started, you were standing with the players on your team, watching the players currently on the court. even though you were concentrated on the ongoing match, your eyes couldn’t help but wander over where the player wearing the yellow number seven vest was. of course, sakunami would always call you out on it to which you would slap him.
on the 8th set, karasuno’ some team had decided to call in a pinch server. who you saw was the infamous number seven that had been on your mind for the past months. kinoshita served twice. the first scored one point, the other went out. you heard your coach say something along the lines of “we need to work on our receives.” you could only muster a small “yeah.”
back to karasuno’s side, before kinoshita went up to serve he had been looking away from coach ukai as if he knew he was going to call a server. to his dismay, he called him. he went up for his serves, scoring one and hitting one out. he walked back and ukai called him,
“kinoshita.”
“y-yes coach?”
“next time you hide from me, i’m making you sit next to me the whole time. otherwise good job.”
“right...thank you.”
after the matches, you hesitated for a second before walking up to karasuno’s number seven. he was drinking water and talking to his teammates.
“huh? where did y/n go?” futakuchi asked as he looked around, a towel on his neck.
“oh so she actually is going to,” sakunami said while stretching his wrists.
“what do you mean?” koganegawa asked.
“just watch,” is all sakunami said.
“dude, call me crazy but i think the manager is walking over here kinoshita,” ennoshita gasped quietly, voice dropping to a hush. he slightly nudged his friend forward, “well, now’s your chance.”
“ennoshita what the-“
“good luck!” narita shouted, giving his friend a thumbs up.
kinoshita made a mental reminder to kick the two later as he walked over to your figure.
“hey there, it’s nice to meet you,” he started. you had lost whatever nerves you had and responded,
“hi, it’s nice to meet you. you have a really good jump float serve by the way!”
“w-wait really? thank you,” he said while you hummed in response.
“well, my name’s kinoshita hisashi. this is sudden but could i have your number? possibly take you on a date? feel free to say no.”
“oh, wow that’s hilarious, i wanted to ask you that too. my name is y/n. y/n futak-“
“Y/N NO!”
“WHAT, KENJI WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO-“ you said snapping your head back
“NO-“
“y/n futakuchi. it’s nice to meet you kinoshita,” you said after letting out an exasperated sigh.
“nice to meet you to-“ he said before getting cut off.
“y/n futakuchi there will be no dating.”
“what the- yes there will.”
“no, listen to your older brother.”
“i will not.”
“this is disgraceful to the futakuchi name, to the date tech team, for heaven's sake! these are our rivals!” futakuchi screamed hysterically. the usually calm, collected and snarky captain was no more. the poor guy was trying to register someone dating his baby sister.
“bold of you to assume i care, nii-san.”
“no y/n you can’t-“
“aone-san! can i?” you called out to the tall blocker who had been talking, well more like listening to hinata. he took a second to assess the situation, looking at the futakuchi siblings and kinoshita. he gave you a nod and a thumbs up.
“thank you aone-san!” you had said with a smile to which he gave you a small one.
“y/n you can’t just ask aone-”
“but i just did.” you said turning towards kinoshita, “here’s my number,” you said while adding it onto his phone.
“no, you aren’t going on a date-“
“does saturday work for you?” kinoshita asked you to which you responded with a simple yes.
“well, you heard it there, futakuchi. guess she is going on a date on saturday.” kinoshita said with a sly smile.
“I WILL NOT- AONE LET ME GO!” futakuchi shouted while being dragged away by aone to the bus since it had been time to go back.
“i’ll text you,” you said while walking towards him, kissing his cheek, “i’m looking forward to saturday,” you said walking away winking at the blushing male, before making your way back to the bus where kenji was waiting to lecture you.
“KINOSHITA GOT A DATE-“ both nishinoya and tanaka yelled. tsukishima was laughing at the fact he had gotten a date with the captain of one of their rival teams.
“i’m almost positive date tech’s captain hates you now kinoshita,” sugawara added.
“all of our matches with date tech will be…interesting now,” narita said as he and ennoshita walked up to their friend.
yeah, all of their matches would be very interesting now, but he didn’t care. he was reminded of that with the vibration of his phone.
yeah, he was looking forward to saturday.

HELLO~ Loved your Tsukkie x Akiteru post - honestly never thought so much about them, but you made me fall in love with these brothers. 😳 BUt what are your thoughts about Kei & Tadashi or Suga & Kei OR Kei & Hinata / Kageyama??? 😥 Sorry for asking for sooo many guys at once, but ticklish!Tsukishima is just too cute~ I'm out...
gdjdjabfjdb i'm not even really a fan of ticklish!tsukki because i find him really complex and hard to write but with y'all talking about him my interest begins to spark :D so no problem, i'll happily do some hcs for you. and don't worry about asking so many things, i'm always happy to exchange thoughts :D
soooo let’s start with tsukki and yamaguchi because honestly, how couldn’t i? i’d say that yamaguchi is one of the very few people tsukishima is comfortable enough with to let them tickle him, around almost everyone else he’s like “if you touch me i’ll bite off your hand”, yeah, it’s complicated. but with yamaguchi it’s so easy for him to relax, he actually almost likes being tickled when it’s yamaguchi. but it’s always very gentle because neither of them wants to overwhelm the other - they just don’t have that type of friendship. buuut tsukishima can and will destroy yamaguchi if he feels like it and yamaguchi gives him a reason!
suga ... well, suga is one of the other very few people who are allowed to tickle tsukishima. not because tsukishima likes it tho, more because suga will not hesitate to break his jaw before he can even attempt to bite his senpai’s hand off. so he kinda has to bear with it but just like yamaguchi, suga is really gentle with tsukishima. sure, he thinks the kid could get kicked down a notch sometimes, but that’s not his job and he doesn’t want to make tsukishima hate him for abusing his weakness. so suga is the kind of guy to give reassuring tickles to his kouhai and he loves to cheer tsukishima up this way. he also never does it in front of anyone, only when they’re alone.
with hinata and kageyama it’s a WHOLE different story! i’m pretty sure hinata being ticklish became common knowledge in the team pretty much since he’s the kind of guy to just randomly start a tickle fight with nishinoya, or rather, to let nishinoya start a tickle fight with him. he’s just a walking spot of sensitivity and tsukishima takes advantage of that to make him shut up from time to time. hinata then ratted kageyama out by tickling him in front of the entire team rather quickly so tsukishima knew that they were ticklish long before they knew about him being ticklish. i also feel like they’d find out on accident? maybe hinata pokes him or something to get his attention and tsukishima wasn’t prepared so he let out a squeak and they immediately pounced on him because yes! finally! revenge! they’ll tickle him from time to time but suga always steps in before it can escalate.
hope you liked those, i’m really sorry it took so long!

You woke up in the late afternoon with the sun peaking through the blinds in dim rays. You sat up on the couch and looked around to see no one there.
Maybe his hangover was so bad that he’s still asleep? You walk towards the mirror in the hallway. You look a mess. Your face is puffy from the night before and your hair unruly. You sigh, rubbing the sleep from your eyes and patting your hair down to the best of your abilities before continuing the walk down the hall. You were ready to talk about last night.
Tsukishima Kei confessed to you. Your best friend in the whole world is in love with you. The man attached to your hip for as long as you can remember. He kissed you. He was as vulnerable as you had ever seen him in your entire life. Though he was drunk and the words came fumbling out, his actions carried his feelings with a tender delicacy. How come you’ve never noticed before? It’s a known fact by everyone surrounding the two of you that he was gentler around you, but you never saw the need to pay it any kind.  It isn’t your fault that you didn’t kiss him back if you never saw it coming? Right?
You slowly stepped into Tsukishima’s room. The door was already slightly ajar, already eliminating your suspicion from earlier. The room was empty. The bed was made. The glass on his nightstand wasn’t there. Kei was gone?
Perhaps he went to the grocery store? He never has work on Sundays so there’s no possible way that he’s there. You walk back to the couch to check your phone. It was only 2pm.
Zero notifications from Kei. Zero notifications from Yamaguchi. Just a ‘Great to see you’ text from Matsukawa.
Odd. Usually when he leaves you alone while you’re sleeping he lets you know where he’s going.
You call his phone to have you answer. You send a text and sit down with a sigh. He’ll come home eventually, you’ll just have to wait until then.
When you and Kei were children, no matter where you’d go, he’d follow with excitement. It was always whatever you wanted to do and it was good enough for him. From coloring, to playing in the park, walking to and from school together, hell he’d even play dolls with you.
Everything about you was so exciting from the day you two met.  There wasn’t a moment that Kei wasn’t smiling around you. He didn’t know then that you would always be his happy place.
 When Kei picked up volleyball from Akiteru. The roles in the friendship reversed at this time. You would help him practice in his backyard after school and on the weekends. Always being his number one fan at every match he’s had from childhood until now. Always following him around. His need to play was inspiring to watch. Seeing him being so happy over volleyball radiated brightly to you. As long as Kei was happy, you never felt the need to be sad.
His brother was always you and Kei’s biggest inspiration. With you personally not having any siblings, Akiteru made sure he was there as an older brother for you.
After Tadashi came into your lives the bond between the three of you was inseparable. However that’s around the time when Kei changed. The three of you went to Akiteru’s last game at Karasuno believing all of the stories that he has told you and Kei about being the ace. Kei shoved off his emotions that day and labeled his brother as pathetic, but you knew his heart broke. To see Akiteru across the gymnasium in the bleachers, not anywhere on the court, changed him. He turned on his heel and exited the gymnasium leaving you and Yamaguchi alone. Yamaguchi gave you a knowing look and you dipped his head and chased after the lanky boy.
“Kei! Kei! Kei!” You sprinted to catch up with the tall boy. You grabbed his arm and pulled him to a halt. “Y/N! Stop! Leave me alone!” he yanked his arm out of your grasp and looked angrily away from you. You stood your ground. “Let me be the one you can depend on. I’ll always always always be there for you. I’ll never let you down.” You declared crossing your arms. Kei didn’t say anything, but the shadow of a smile rested on his lips.
After that day Tsukishima became more reserved. Instead of moving along happily, among others he kept to himself. If anything minorly inconvenienced him, a snarky comment would have to fall from his lips. You would gently scold him and he wouldn’t do it again. He’d always lend a sly smile and go along with whatever you needed to do. Like when you two were children, he’d follow you around wherever you’d go and always have a faint smile when your presence was around. You being the light walked him through the dark. You became his safe place.
In Karasuno, you two managed to be in the same class every year. You consistently studied together during breaks and lunch. If anyone needed to know where you were, one could always depend on the assumption that you’re with Tsukishima.
You’d walk him to practice. Sometimes you’d peep in if you had nothing else to do. You managed to befriend the team and everyone was quite fond of you. Especially Hinata due to the fact that he was Kei’s favorite person to pick on. Everyone enjoyed your presence near the court because it noticeably dialed Tsukishima back….
You snapped out of your thoughts to see the living room covered in a pink hue from the sunset outside. You look down at your phone. It’s nearly 6 and he’s still not there. You dial his number again and place your phone to your ear.
He doesn’t answer.
You try to send some texts. The ones from earlier still not read.
You: Kei? Where are you? I’m still at your place. When are you coming home?
You: Are you okay? You haven’t been home in hours
You: We need to talk about what happened last night
Delivered
Eight more attempts of calling him to no avail. Many many more texts are sent to be kept on delivered. You sigh running your hands through your hair letting out a scream. It was now night time outside as you paced around the apartment anxiously.
You raise your phone to your ear, calling Yamaguchi.
“Yama, is Kei with you?”
“No? I haven’t seen him since I left the apartment last night. Why? What’s going on?”
“Umm.. It’s nothing, don’t worry about it. Bye Yama!”
“Bye, Y/N!”
Kei wasn’t going to come back home. You just knew it.
You don’t know what to do at this point. You look at your phone again and scroll through your contacts until you find the person you were looking for and place the phone to your ear.
“Hey, Senpai, I’m sorry I’m calling so late, but would you be able to pick me up from Kei’s house? I really need someone to talk to right now”
Tumblr media
Twenty minutes later you walk outside and go up to a car pulled up on the sidewalk. You open the car door to immediately be greeted.
“How’s one of my favorite Kouhais doing? It’s been a while!” Sugawara Koushi smiled brightly at you.

Haikyuu Year Swap AU Ideas
(No idea if this has been done before but Im going to do it.)
This is a swap between the first and third years. I'm leaving the second years alone for the most part.
KARASUNO
Hinata Shouyou
Ace and decoy. Middle blocker/Wing spiker. Sunshine senpai. 50/50 receiving skills, either good or just bad. Almost same with serving. Makes up for it with spiking and blocking. Don't ask help in studying. Constantly argues with Kageyama and Tsukishima
Kageyama Tobio
Main Setter. Intimadating but soft senpai. Good at everything in volleyball except communication. Very awkward. Has the best tosses but hard to keep up with. Don't also ask for studying. Constantly argues with Hinata and Tsukishima.
Tsukishima Kei
Vice Captain. Middle blocker. Salty fry Smart senpai. Lacks motivation but is an above average volleyball player. Excels in blocking. Can be asked to help in studying if it okay to be insulted every minute. Only listens to Yamaguchi.
Yamaguchi Tadashi
Captain. Pinch server/Middle blocker. Mom or demon senpai (it depends). Do NOT make him mad. Best server. Overall an average player. Better option for tutoring. He has a favourite and its Ennoshita.
Yachi Hitoka
Manager. Most helpful senpai. Runs around to assist anyone she can. Very kind and sweet. Will drop everything to help. Actually a nervous wreck. Best option to ask for tutoring. Team's damage control.
Sawamura Daichi
New Recruit. Wing spiker. "More mature than most of his senpais" kouhai. Good spiker and has better receiving skills than his senpais (Hinata). Has room for improvement though. Yamaguchi and Ennoshita's help in keeping the others in line.
Sugawara Koushi
New Recruit. Setter. Demon child kouhai. A more flexible setter and a good all around player. Needs help in blocking. Gets along well with anyone. Hell spawn but more tolerable than the idiot duo second years. Also, violent.
Azumane Asahi
New Recruit. Wing Spiker. Protect at all costs kouhai. Best spiker next to Hinata and best server next to Yamaguchi. Powerful in the court but glass mentality. Very anxious and always under Nishinoya's watch. Needs to be more confident.
Shimizu Kiyoko
New Recruit. Manager. Silent beauty kouhai. Observant and intelligent. Determined to help in anyway she can. Needs to connect more with the players. Sticks by Yachi. Has overprotective senpais (Tanaka and Noya) though she tries her best to evade them. She's athletic too.
Others: Nekoma & Fukurodani, Aoba Johsai

Haikyuu Headcanons Part 3
Karasuno 1st Years
~~~~
Kageyama Tobio
-As much as he and Hinata fight, he considers Hinata his best friend
-Learned to play with Hinata’s hair by watching Suga, and now does it regularly
-Will activate Hinata’s off switch without thinking about it
-Easy to embarrass
-Has a plush of a milk carton with eyes that Hinata got him for his birthday and keeps it on his bed, despite him claiming he hated it
-His S/O keeps stealing his hoodies, and he often has to beg for them back (succeeds only 40% of the time- usually just ends up buying new ones)
-The number of girls (and guys??) who have crushes on him confuses the heck out of this baby blueberry
-He gets kind of jealous when other setters talk to Hinata (cough cough Kenma) and he’s not really sure why
Hinata Shoyo
-Has an off switch as well (lift him up by his armpits and he just goes silent)
-Loves hanging out with all of the first years, even Tsukishima
-Has accidentally turned down girls who are trying to confess to him, because he’s oblivious as heck
-He helped form the 1st year study group, and likes to host them sometimes at his house (even if Natsu bothers them)
-Gets a liiiiiittle jealous when Yachi/Yamaguchi fawn over Natsu during study sessions
-He likes jumping in public just to startle people
-Buys people the best birthday gifts (cute plushies, cool pens, little trinkets, etc)
Tsukishima Kei
-Gets contacts in his 2nd year bc he gets tired of pushing up his glasses in class
-Is confused when asked if Yamaguchi is his boyfriend
-Drinks coffee often
-Sleeps at a reasonable time (before 11pm every night)
-Is a pretty good baker
-His hair is super messy in the morning when he wakes up
-Karasuno’s mom after Suga and Ennoshita
-Adored by his underclassmen
-Doesn’t ever know what to do when he’s confessed to
-Writes the sweetest notes/letters that he likes leaving in his classmates’/teammates’ lockers to brighten their days
-Regularly purchases little dinosaur figures for Tsukishima (which Tsukishima grumbles about and yet still collects on his desk)
-Awful at baking, but super enthusiastic
-Somehow manages to be a good cook though
-The one and only time he yelled at his kouhai (they were goofing off during practice when he was captain) made him feel so guilty that he went home and cried. Tsukishima had to come over and comfort him.
-Keeps in touch with Asahi
-Good friends with Yachi
Yachi Hitoka
-The only reason the volleyball team manages to get new recruits (her posters are gorgeous and Ukai reuses them even after she leaves)
-Is often asked to help someone be introduced to one of the Karasuno 1st years (she has to politely decline, which is hard for her to do, but she knows that they don’t want fangirls hanging all over them)
-Once Suga leaves, Yachi takes over and yells at the different team members. Only during practice though- she’s way too afraid to do it during actual games
-The underclassmen are unsure whether to love her to be afraid of her due to this
-Drinks lots of herbal tea to try to calm her nerves
-Carries around nausea medication for Hinata during away games
-Proud of her “villager B” status
-Adores Hinata Natsu (and regularly sends her letters to help her practice her reading and writing)
a new way to fly (pt 1)
Part one of a multi-part haikyuu x reader. Not determined on a single character because I’m planning on closing the fic with multiple endings (much like a choose-your-own-ending)! I saw this idea used in different fandoms but not for Haikyuu so I thought I’d give it a shot^^ First chapter takes place sometime before Karasuno’s match with Aoba Josai for the Spring InterHigh Qualifier (towards the end of season 2). Reader is a first-year student, and is referred to with gender neutral terms. Please enjoy!
Chapter I
(L/N) (Y/N), Class 1-4
Yamaguchi Tadashi picked up the familiar math workbook and turned the cover page. Neatly marked on the inside cover of your copy, which he had found abandoned and face-down on the gymnasium floor, he read aloud the name softly. Tsukishima overheard and cocked his blonde head up curiously, but his gaze remained focused on his phone. “(Y/N)? From our class?” He quipped with a dull tone in an attempt to cover up his interest. (L/N)…Tsukishima repeated your name secretly as he thought. You were also in the college prep class and the two boys were only vaguely familiar with their own classmates. You were quiet and reserved, and they never reached out to anyone beyond their duo, so you never really crossed paths with them. You were just another unknown figure whose name only conjured up a fuzzy image of someone in the Karasuno school uniform. Your workbook was somehow found next to the team members’ drawstring bags and water bottles, and Yamaguchi had just noticed its presence.
After school hours, the gym was only used by sports teams. It was unlikely that you carelessly brought your workbook to gym class earlier in the day. So then why..?
“Yeah,” Yamaguchi replied. “Her workbook. I wonder why it’s here.” He voiced exactly what Tsukishima was also thinking as his slender fingers traced the black, inked characters of your name.
“Oi, Yamaguchi!” Hinata’s cheery bright voice resonated throughout the gym. “Studying during our one and only break during practice?” He teased lightly. Though he would never admit it, Hinata was slightly envious of the academic strengths of the other two first-year students on the volleyball team. But they did seem to have more stress regarding their grades compared to the average student, as well as a more intensive workload.
             Tsukishima looked up from his phone with a shit-eating grin. “No, but you should. Your grades and IQ could use some help.”
             “Tsukishima…your words are too harsh—” “—That’s not a fair comment—" The older members of the volleyball team awkwardly shook their heads in disapproval at the typical interaction between their juniors. Hinata let out a gurgled yelp of offense as he approached the duo. Before he could come up with a comeback, he caught eye of the workbook in Yamaguchi’s hand, noticing the name on the inside cover. “Oh (L/N) (Y/N)? They’re in your class, right? What are you doing with their workbook?” He asked.
             “I don’t know. We just found it on the ground. We have an upcoming assessment so they must be looking for it,” Yamaguchi replied.
             “Oh no!” Hinata piped up. “They must have dropped it before practice!”
             This time Tsukishima replied. “You know them?”
             “Yeah, we’re friends! We went to the same middle school together! They used to help me with schoolwork all the time! We kind of parted ways in high school because of how we got placed into different classes. They stopped by to say hi before practice today, but they got here before me, so they were waiting for me, studying right here!” He pointed to where Yamaguchi was sitting. “I thought it would be funny to serve a ball right at their book bag. I aimed well! But I guess the bag was open or something…” He trailed off. “Oh no! The book must have fallen out when my awesome serve hit her bag. Ah, and you said that there’s an upcoming test…they must be stressed! They get so nervous about their grades..!” Worry washed over his face as his hands grasped at his orange hair. “It’s all my fault…I’m sorry (Y/N)-san…”
             Tsukishima let out a tch, amused by Hinata’s long ramble. So you two knew each other. That’s why your workbook was here. But he still didn’t know who exactly you were…
             “Everyone! Break is over,” Daichi’s voice echoed throughout the gym as he clapped two beats to get everyone’s attention. “Gather ‘round! Our next match for the Spring Inter-High is around the corner!”
             Hai! Everyone scurried back to the court where Coach Ukai and Daichi were waiting. Just before the captain could get into more detailed announcements, the gym doors flung open, an aggressive THUD demanding attention from all those inside the gym.
             You were tired from running to the gym (first to the classroom, then the second floor bathroom, then the bathroom next to the library, then the...and so on..). The panic from noticing that your workbook was missing had fueled your frantic search. You were studying in the library for the upcoming exam until you realized that your workbook was missing. You had retraced all your steps: the classroom, the bathrooms, and the now gym, the last destination. Panting, your hands clutched your knees as you struggled to catch your breath; you definitely got your 10,000th step of the day from the hunt around the school. Your head was bowed over as you inhaled and exhaled, your hair curtaining your face. You had yet to realize that you disrupted the Karasuno boys’ volleyball team practice—and very loudly at that. All eyes were on you.
             When you finally looked up, warmth crept onto your cheeks from embarrassment. “S-Sorry to disturb you all…I’m just looking for something…” You nervously choked out.
             Almost instantly, two boys, a taller one with a shaved head and a shorter one with a bleached tuft of hair swarmed up to you. “What are you looking for?” The shorter one asked excitedly. “Perhaps a boyfriend?” The taller one added. Your cheeks only got hotter. How did they get here so fast?
             Tsukishima turned to Yamaguchi, who was already walking towards you. So that’s (L/N) (F/N). They’re kind of…cute…The once-blurry figure that your name previously conjured up was now replaced with a new schema.
             “Excuse our senpais. I found your book earlier.” Yamaguchi handed over your workbook and relief washed over you.
             “Yamaguchi-san!” You instantly recognized him by his freckles. “Thank you so much!” As if transferred over, Yamaguchi was suddenly bashful and a blush tinged his face. Your friendliness caught him off-guard, and it sure did not help how cute you were. You accepted the book and bowed your head gratefully. You added a swift nod of acknowledgement to the other boys before turning around to exit the gym. How embarrassing…your own classmate saw how you disrupted their practice, and now you had to face him tomorrow in class.
             “Bye, (F/N)-chan!” Hinata’s voice cheerily called out.
             “See you, Shouyo-kun!” Not even looking back, you ran out, not wanting to draw any more attention, nor wanting to waste even a second more of the team’s practice time.
             “Eh, Hinata? You know such a cute girl?!” Tanaka asked. “Our kouhai knows other cute kouhais and didn’t even introduce us!” Nishinoya dramatically exclaimed.
             “That’s enough!” Daichi was annoyed. “Let’s get back to work!”
             Practice continued, but every so often, details of the mysterious person was exchanged from Hinata to the rest of the curious members. You were cute, everyone admitted. Of course all of the questions were from the excitable second-years, but Tsukishima and Yamaguchi did not miss a single word.
             (L/N) (F/N) of class 1-4. Middle school friends with Hinata. You two were fairly close and even lived near each other. You never dated anyone. You were shy. When you weren’t studying, you worked part-time at a bakery. You studied at the library after school when Hinata was at practice and would sometimes walk home together.
             “Are you guys walking home together today?!” Nishinoya asked.
             “Mm, not today, but tomorrow! They probably will stay quite late because of her exam. They always works too hard…”
             “Kouhai, I think you should bring them to Ukai’s convenience store tomorrow! Let’s all go there together!” Nishinoya commanded.
             And what a surprise it was to find the entire volleyball team waiting for you at the library entrance the next day.
