Glad to see someone shares my appreciation for the hannibal women 💪💪
Always and forever! I utterly despise the handful of Hannibal fans that are dismissive and even hateful towards the female characters, while praising the male characters for doing similar or even worse things! And this isn't just a Hannibal problem, but a fandom problem in general, ex: hating Alana for "getting in the way" of Will and Hannibal's relationship, labelling her a bitch even though she's just trying to help (albeit, that help isn't the best but she has good intentions at heart). Or disliking Abigail for being manipulative and cold at times when Hannibal and Will are right there.
Dislike female characters all you want, but don't make them out to be these horrible monsters when the main character of the show is LITERALLY a cannibalistic serial killer. Only one character had Abigail's best interests at heart, and it wasn't any of the men (hint: it was Alana, so stop making her out to be a vindictive bitch in fics, I hear this is a problem within the fandom)

Sephiroth wasn't handling the changes as much as he pretended to be. He kept up a cool and unaffected front for the sake of the child-- of Al. The boy didn't need to see Sephiroth break down when he needed to be a pillar of strength.
But he was a fool to think Jae wouldn't notice.
Sephiroth had been distant and quiet. Even more so than usual. It wasn't like they were an overly affectionate couple but, they they were partners in this. Jae did choose to stay and stick this out. He should reach out and lean a little. Trust Jae with what was bothering him most. To allow himself to be just a little vulnerable.
He hated to admit it, but he missed his old life. Or at least, what was steady and predictable about it. When he was ignorant of the truth that haunted him from birth. Was he human? A monster? An Ancient? Or just an experiment that gone on too long? He didn't know anymore. He didn't really feel like himself anymore either.
Sephiroth was sitting out in the dark night, in the middle of the overgrown garden. The summer heat still felt thick and damp over his skin. Loud cicada bugs sang their summer song in the trees. The moob hung in a thin crescent overhead. Casting everything in pale and silver tones of white and gray.
He looked up at Jae with eyes glassy with unshed tears. He did not cry. He never cried. Yet, he felt that urge now. Taking in a shaking breath, he stretched his legs out in front of him and motioned for Jae to come sit in front of him.
"Then... come sit with me." He'd murmur through a tight throat. He never thought of himself being a fixture in someone's life. But when he thought about how he simply couldn't survive here without Jae's guidance and support, he realized just how much he didn't want Jae to leave either.
He'd curl himself around Jae, face pressing to his shoulder. He'd start to tremble as his emotions couldn't be held back anymore. Silent hot tears trailed down his cheeks as he tried to keep a hold on himself. He might have cried as a child, but not as an adult. It was oddly liberating to finally let those emotions burst free.
"You aren't just a fixture. You're the sole support pillar holding this makeshift family together."
