I find it so amusing that Alhaitham's "least favourite food" voiceline is this:
Tumblr media
Which, like, A) doesn't actually say anything about his tastes, and B) nerd.
But then his signature dish is this:
Tumblr media
Derived from this:
Tumblr media
He LITERALLY just took a stew, a "soup-like" dish, fried it into a pie(?) so that he could eat it like pizza while reading.
(and for my Kavetham/Haikaveh girlies out there, the signature says "contemplation" on top. Which really feels like Alhaitham's passive aggressive way of telling Kaveh to think things through more.)

HI BC!
Nic posted that he is leaving LA. Do you think Sam also left or he might still be there? Then there is the Gold´s gym and once again talk about KE. After Nic posted his story from the gym, she liked Sam´s latest 2 posts. So do you think that she might be the new AS-which Sam dated, broke, dated again and broke, or do you think that AS was an exception in his dating and that KE is totally over, once he broke then it is broken?
I got a couple of messages similar to this, I just answer to be done with it, as I think it is quite uninteresting.
Yes, NR posted a story which implies he's leaving LA
Tumblr media
Does that mean, S will be leaving as well or are they going 'somewhere'. No, I just think NR is having a job at a gym in London. He can't just have weeks off like that, and he needs the money to pay the rent etc. like we all do. He's not in the same position as S.
I don't see why that would mean S would leave as well. Why would he, in little over a week he has his event in LA, so doesn't make any sense to leave now, imo. On top of that, he has a business in the US, together with AN, and AN might be doing the daily work. But that doesn't mean he can just leave things all to AN and doesn't need to do anything. It's his business as well! And who knows what they're working on for a 'next adventure' 🤷‍♀️
And yes, NR also posted a story showing the Golds Gym in Venice, LA.
But if you ask me, he has not really been inside, just at the entrance. He's filming at the front desk, and at the end you can see the (closed) gates. It's just a 'I was here' but not really inside. If he was really inside, or working out there (and some like to imply it must be with S) then I'm sure we would have seen some different recording.
Finally - big sigh - can we just please, pretty please, stop about KE? A like doesn't mean a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. That Nic (and perhaps S was with him) went to see the Golds gym, doesn't mean KE is back. I don't know why you people keep bringing her up. She hasn't been anywhere near S in over a year and even that she was more than a year ago is disputable. There is literally nothing that implies a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g going on there and it's disputable that there ever was a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g going on between them. Just like with any other girl or woman he seen with. It's just so childish, it's like teenagers continuously gossiping when you're seen with somebody on an occasion. Grow up!

I love the contrast between the two things that my mind has really latched onto from season 2 of "Back to the Rock," because on the one hand... Episode 5, "I'm Pogey!", was just so meaningful to me. I love Wembley, he's been my favorite fraggle since the days of the original and the rebooted take on him still holds that title, and as someone who is fluid in his own gender presentation it was very heartwarming seeing Wembley, a character I often call "such a mood," be a big part of the episode handling this topic. And then on top of the more implied and vague stuff (which, let me be clear, is not a complaint, it was all handled perfectly imo) you have Pogey, the first Henson Studio character I'm aware of to be canonically, explicitly they/them non-binary. I already found them so endearing last season, and the reason they are proud of their name and love to share it really, deeply resonated with me.
...And then on the other hand, it seems every season I'm just destined to be surprised by my interest in a new fraggle (or similar!) character with a connection to Mokey and voiced by a guest star. I didn't find Pryce quite as lovable as Lyle, but I still really like him. (Gee, my favorite modern character is Louie Duck and I like the green character doing a capitalist hustle, who woulda thought?) But the other thing with Pryce is the questions he raises! He comes from a different community of fraggles where "this for that" is the norm, and I just want to know more about that!
Shoutout to my bonus obsessions of the season, Ma Gorg getting the character glow-up I always longed to see her have in the original show, and of course, the affection between Gobo and Wembley being shown even more and in even sweeter ways. I really didn't think things could get gayer between them after Night of the Lights, but nah, Back to the Right seems determined to spoil the small (but currently feasting) group of fans shipping them. Love it.
And just in general, this season was great. It felt both even more entertaining and even more important in the messages it looks to teach youngsters (and hopefully adults too) than the first, which already did so much in both regards.

I don't know why but the new Hunger Games song 'Can't catch me now' made me think of Rakepick and I wanted to know if you get the same vibe 👀
Hm, hold on, let me listen to it…
youtube
Ok, first of all, this is a pretty dope song. I’d probably hear it sooner or later, but thank you for telling me about it earlier. I really like it ❤
Secondly, to be completely honest, I don’t think Rakepick would come to my mind if you didn’t tell me that… But to be fair, I think it’s mostly because I knew from the start that it’s from the new Hunger Games, and while I didn’t read “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” yet, I did watch some spoiler videos, so I pretty much now the story – and I simply can’t not think of Lucy Gray when I hear this song. On the other hand, I can also see why it does make you think of Rakepick. Because... yeah, it does have the vibes. And you know what? I saw your message when I was in bed already, so I didn’t check the song right away, but I was like: “Hm, Rakepick and Katniss are kinda similar…”. Of course, not quite in personality, but like… the theme? And I say Katniss because, from what I gathered, Katniss and Lucy Gray have that type of similarity, too, so I guess I’m putting them all in one group.
Ok, so I think it’s mainly about the fact that Rakepick is a rebel. Personally, I’d say it’s one of her core characteristics. Remember when we asked Snape about her school years and he was like: “She was a danger to everyone at Hogwarts and the very principle upon which this school was built”? Sure, he was probably being dramatic because he is Snape, but I don’t think he was just being dramatic. Then we had those moments implying that she had a beef with the Ministry, and while she was not disrespectful about Dumbledore, I wouldn’t call her very respectful either. Finally, we have her whole relationship with R – and to be clear, I’m talking about Rakepick’s story before it was ruined by JC.  I mean, let’s take the letter we found in Y4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me, “final warning” means there were warnings before that one. Moreover, it had to be sent in the past. And where Patty was at the time we found that letter? At Hogwarts, searching for the Cursed Vaults. It actually kinda fits the chorus of the song:
But I'm in the trees, I'm in the breeze My footsteps on the ground You'll see my face in every place But you can't catch me now
There’s just something very “uncatchable” about Rakepick indeed. Also, this idea of being ever-present actually goes along with her role in the story, imo. How she’s being mentioned in Y2 already, how she ties it all together and whatnot.
Also, not directly connected to the song, but you know how the main Hunger Games series is all about Katniss's willingness to sacrifice for Prim?
Tumblr media
I still claim that she was genuine at that moment because it was way too late for any attempts at manipulating MC. And I do think that sacrifice was meant to play a much bigger role in Patty’s story overall.
Finally, one last more random thought. Well, technically two. Katniss is strongly associated with fire, right? Now, tell me “the girl on fire” does not suit Rakepick perfectly. On top of that, a while ago in HPHM, there was that masquerade ball TLSQ. And I thought then that it would be way more interesting if it wasn’t at Hogwarts, and it was Jacob and Rakepick attending the event. I talked about it with my friend, and I kid you not, I even mentioned the dress Katniss had in “Catching fire” while describing what would Patty wear.

ever since @seagodofmagic mentioned it to me, i've been thinking about the fact that Melheret almost certainly knows that Laela was involved in Kamet's escape
Eugenides definitely says Laela's name out loud in the throne room scene at the end of Thick as Thieves, in front of a roomful of Attolian courtiers and guards:
“My ambassador in the empire, Ornon, arranged for Laela to meet you in the passage and misdirect you. We didn’t tell Costis.”
we also know that Melheret isn't present when he says it, because Kamet runs into him immediately afterward, walking in the opposite direction:
I was walking up one of the wide marble staircases, still in the ceremonial part of the palace, trying to adjust to the idea of being an honored guest with attendants—who were attending me—when I saw the Mede ambassador. Melheret arrived at the top of the stairs and began to descend while I paused, one foot up and one down, and when Melheret bowed, I bowed back, a lopsided, wobbling attempt at courtesy.
at least Gen didn't blow Laela's cover while Melheret was literally in the room, which is something! and i suppose her name means very little to anyone who heard it besides Kamet and Costis. but i find it very hard to believe that Laela's name didn't circulate around the palace after the king said it in front of a crowd, and that it wouldn't reach Melheret eventually. and even if Melheret probably doesn't know who Laela is, he could put together that she's a member of Nahuseresh's household, and would probably assume that Nahuseresh would want to know what she did.
i'm guessing Kamet makes the same assumption i did, because when Gen tells him weeks later that Laela and the girls have been purchased by an Attolian agent, he seems pretty sure that Nahuseresh would have caught her eventually:
I had worried over Laela’s fate, fearing for the harm that would come to her when my master learned how he had been betrayed.
since Laela does get away from Nahuseresh and survives for some undetermined amount of time after the end of the series, Nahuseresh obviously doesn't learn of her involvement until after he sells her, and he also doesn't successfully carry out any revenge against her. i suspect it's similar to the situation with Kamet; after his disgrace, Nahuseresh just doesn't have the resources to pursue personal revenge against his former slaves. but it's stressful to think about how close the timing might have been, especially given that (imo) "Envoy" implies that Melheret managed to have some successful communication with the empire before the sinking of the Mede fleet:
The imperial fleet should have been moved, no matter how adamantly the emperor’s nephew had insisted that his slave could not know its location. Melheret had said as much, as delicately as he could, knowing he risked offending people far more powerful than he was. Ignorant, narrow-minded counselors had disagreed, arguing that the allied navy was too small to be a threat, and the Emperor was nearing the end of any need for secrecy. Melheret had been right, and they had been wrong, and that was far more dangerous to Melheret than the reverse.
all of this suggests that Laela and the girls got out of Nahuseresh's house well before the sinking of the fleet, since Melheret would have had to have time to exchange some messages with the capital before the fleet sank, and Laela had to be out of the palace by then. probably it will end up creating another timeline headache for me while i try to plan the end of WWAA, but in the meantime it's fun to imagine Nahuseresh learning that Laela betrayed him just when it's too late for him to do anything about it.

as a mentally ill style shipper, your request was very reasonable imo. i completely understand why having a “love=instant mental health fix” would be upsetting. the only problem i have with applying it is mainly skill-based on my part? i only have the energy to write one-shots atm, and while alcoholism is a interesting subject to tackle and explain in depth, i’m concerned i won’t be able to get that important message that across in just one chapter. feel free to not answer this part if you’re not up to it, but are there ways i can implement that in those types of stories, or should I just avoid them entirely?
hope i’m not being rude or invasive for sending this in but thanks for reading regardless. i wish you well.
-concerned style shipper
Hi anon! It's cool that you're asking this, so thank you. :] Just want to first assure you that I was not harmed when I came across that trope in fics; it's more like a peeve that's enough for me to drop the fic, that's all. And don't ever feel the need to avoid a certain type of story - you are absolutely allowed to tell any story you want, as long as you tag it and give the appropriate content warnings!
Now, to answer your question: luckily, you don't need to go heavy-handed with that message at all! It's more than enough to imply - whether it's in the narration, or from anyone's POV - that Stan still has ongoing struggles with alcoholism even after he's got together with Kyle. From the top of my head, some ways you can incorporate this: (tw: alcholism)
Depending how old they are in your fic, you could write a single line that implies Stan still attends AA meetings.
Stan's internal monologue - you could show his fears of a relapse, even after he's gotten together with Kyle (maybe he could be afraid of letting Kyle down?). Or maybe you could show him still having those late-night cravings, or still having empty bottles in his room if you want to be really subtle.
If they're aged up: Stan's reactions to parties - some recovering alcoholics would feel on the edge at the prospect of attending gatherings where there's alcohol present
Kyle's POV!! There's definitely a lot you can do here!! If Kyle is aware of Stan's alcoholic issues, write about his thoughts on it and if he's not, you could make him notice the physical symptoms e.g. mood swings.
And there's more. Anyway, the basic idea here is to write things that carry a vague sense that Stan still has alcoholic issues, and that recovery is not a linear process. If you're up for it, I recommend researching into real life stories about alcoholics in relationships to get a better idea.
On top of that, there's also the author's note. One of my favourite Style authors used it in one of their fics to emphasise that addiction is not a linear process and that it's unrealistic for Stan to stop drinking the moment he gets together with Kyle. So if you're concerned your message didn't come across, you could add this.
I hope this answers your question, anon. Feel free to hit me up more about this if it didn't!! Good luck on your one-shots. :)

I too am cn dub truther, I play gi and hsr on cn, I'm chinese. I definitely prefer cn owl, ana and raven. I think their cn voices match their characters (that i made up mostly) more.
My backstories for ana and owl are kinda edgy and incredibly elaborate, especially owl's. So it's kinda embarrassing to talk about them.
I'll start off with some of my less unhinged hcs.
Ana's mother is cecilia's younger sister. Which makes her kiana's cousin.
Owl loves horror movies. He's also a massive gaming nerd, he's really good at it too. Ana also loves video games and has a natural talent for it.
Owl would never admit it out right, but he thinks of raven as a friend of sort. He knows about raven's probably dead brother and has told raven about his probably dead sister. But they never bring it up again.
This is less a hc and more me choosing to ignore canon. But I think that ana and owl should have been allowed to talk to each other. So I will just say that after manila, they didn't meet face to face until the coral arc. But they did kept in contact with one another, mostly cuz ana felt guilty but she still genuinely enjoys owl's company.
Also I think that both of them are kinda pathetic wet cats with tons of repression. On top of being a qpr, t4t, they are also girlfailure x boyloser.
A FELLOW CN DUB TRUTHER,,,,,and also a gi hsr player??????? i used to pray for times like this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,when i found out childe(another character i like) and owl have the same va i lost my shit then when hsr leaked my friend messaged me to tell me that dh and owl sound the same 😭😭😭
ana and kiana being cousins!!!! so true funnier when their names rhyme w each other. I do not know if its ever mentioned in game but in honkai wiki it says kianas like 20? which means shes like 2 years older than ana so it would be cute if ana was named after kiana
the way that “did you know flareon is the only fire type pokemon that cannot use solar beam?” meme has been living in my head constantly for owl @ ana 😭😭 esp when that year was 2015 so gen 7 wasnt out yet but in 2017 gen 7 came out and flareon is now no longer the only fire type pokemon that cannot use solar beam!!
owl is a major gaming nerd so true!!!!i think owl and ana would play those 2 player fps games at the arcade. (cringe coincidence story is how i hc owl as a filipino and im a big mlbb esports fan esp to this one team and had a whole crack ws officer mlbb au and then last yr that esports team had a new rookie whose ign is owl)
OUGHHHH RAVEN AND OWL BEING SOMEWHAT FRIENDS,,,,,,,,,,i wish there was more screentime between them because i think their relationship is so interesting,,,,,,,,,like theres so many interesting commonality between them to explore,,,,,the whole probably dead sibling thing,,,,,,,(esp in er when its implied that owl met sakura,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,mhy u make the flamechaser w a dead little sister meet the ws officer w a dead little sister and not elaborate???????????(granted idt sakura knew her sister was dead at that point in time(probably???))) and the whole implication that owl and raven do talk outside missions with the whole “that S rank valk again?”,,,,,ik raven complains about rita to owl every time they meet,,,,,
ignoring canon is my hobby when it comes to ana and owl i havent rewatched chap 19 in a year and i like to think it doesnt exist other than rimestar because i think rimestar is cool (also actually really salty they couldve made a HoStars owl design!!!!!! ok cowards!!!(ik its too much effort for a side character)) you are so right ana and owl should be allowed to talk to each other more!!!!! imo i think they talked more when owl was at the hospital or smth because the dude was like buried under a building and ana only left after he was discharged or smth. but also them keeping in contact 🥺🥺 bet they had cute contact names for each other
you are soooo right ana and owl are a girl failure and boy loser ship!!! ana is the sole survivor of her squad twice and then the second time kills her squad and others (unintentionally) and owl is unable to protect the ppl he cares about twice and has to watch them die!!!! they are terrible at their roles and even worse at communicating mhy when will they be happy (they are not present in the da capo scene with everybody alive and happy)

Isn't he really...not actually confirmed to be legitimately religious, though...? It's kinda a plot point that what SEES reads in a newspaper is just outright not true and the first confirmed example of Takaya consciously lying about something (he knows SEES isn't at fault for the apathy syndrome, nor the murders and he does not actually considers himself to be Nyx's prophet, either. Plus Aki says that Takaya isn't being truthful and the general narrative framing of this game is a really obnoxious "main characters say so = it's objectively true").
Jin then claims that Strega literally only learned about Nyx after Ikutsuki's death, which implies that, up this point, they only vaguely recognized Tartarus as having some sort of role in bringing the end of the world (hence the "Tower of Demise"), at best (although, imo, they didn't know that either, since Takaya was clearly puzzled by what the twelve shadows even had to with it and seemed more concerned about the potential disappearance of the Dark Hour itself, rather than the tower). And, I mean, sure, he absolutely does genuinely recognize Nyx as a god, but also that's what she just objectively is (and Adachi felt similarly about Ameno-sagiri, if I remember correctly).
And where I agree that, outside of being a mercenary, his biggest sin within the narrative is literally just having a different life ideology than the main characters (which is actually more ableist of Atlus, than it is antagonistic of Takaya, for that matter, because unironically calling out who is functionally a palliative patient for passive suicidal ideation is just so absurd it's hilarious), but...isn't his actual religiousness literally just...fanon? Unless we are simply finding it interchangeable with fatalism (which he definitely is).
Unless-unless I am totally just missing some crucial piece of information, which is honestly kinda why I am even sending this in the first place, taking advantage of the guy's obvious understander saying something on the topic I've been curious about for some time. Sorry if it reads like I'm trying to um-actually you up, I promise it's not the intent, haha. Thank you in advance with how stupidly long this message is 🤍
Tumblr media
(( Ok, forgive me, it is very late at night, so I apologize ahead of time if I'm not reading this great but if I don't answer now I will almost definitely forget to later--
First, I do want to clarify, everything I say about Takaya I am referring to my canon divergent take on him that i've written for 3 years, he's had a few adjustments made to him to make him a more coherent character, that's also why I emphasized "potentially a good antagonist" in that rambly post and my wording of I love the "idea" of a religious person in persona-- that is to say I don't think they actually depicted that completely in the canon series
Though honestly! I swear to god, I couldn't really give you a provable quote off the top of my head, but I've seen the novel, the stage play, the in-character AMA replies, and I could have sworn... I saw Takaya imply real reverence for Nyx. Because I remember making a post freaking out about it? Besides... I just find it hard to believe he didn't intuitively understand his persona and ability to see the dark hour were something from a higher power when he consistently refers to them as "blessings" and as the lab children as "chosen ones". You could argue he's referring to the scientists that tested on them but that's very unlikely considering he talks very resentfully about how they used him in his final fight speech and he seems to disregard Ikutsuki a unimportant. Its like he's... referring to something else blessing them.
This is the thing with Takaya-- I cannot give you... a single, easy, quick refuting explanation. I can only point to what little canon characterization he has and hope it makes intuitive sense lmao.
So.... What I think is most likely here, even by the main game's logic, disregarding my own canon-divergences... is that Takaya does indeed have a religion of a kind, but much like how the game takes the time to explain that Strega calls the tower something else, " The Tower of Demise"... They just didn't know the name of the god that was going to kill them. But surely they knew a god was going to kill them, why else would they call the tower the tower of demise, how else would they deduce that the tower was leading to anything of the sort without some higher knowledge of what's going on? And then that leads you to wonder where they got that knowledge, etc, and that's where headcanon has to fill in the blanks because its very unclear.
( though I admit i might just be forgetting something- )
Now one thing I do think, in my experience of having to depict this guy, is that it would be near impossible to not depict Takaya as a religious zealot-- as in a person with intense ideological drive based in spiritual beliefs-- and still keep him acting and speaking as he's only ever shown to speak in canon. To me, its very much a... "all but said" situation? Yes, he is a dishonest and manipulative man but... that passionate sermon in his final fight was entirely him showing his real zealotry. Its so evident in his archetype of character, his design, his way of speaking, that it naturally lends itself to depicting a man that is very religious in his thought process. Not merely a fatalist, but someone who holds visible reverence and manic exuberance for that which can end the world. To the point where I think it is fair to assume that in the event of say, my future-verse where he lives to see other gods attempt to end or change the world, Takaya would choose to side with the gods basically every time-- not simply because he wants the world to die, but because he holds their power in higher regard than humanity's obsession with trivially living on, unchanged and unimpeded. Its hard to explain-- but to me Takaya has a personality that is so fundamentally anti-mundane humanity that it necessitates a reverence for the supernatural and the divine-- if only because he seems to find the grand and cataclysmic to be outright awe inspiring in a very religious way, if not ideologically necessary.
Something of which is evident in how he seems to find such beauty in the dark hour itself! Such as in the novel, where he not only marvels at the sight of it but he's described as seeming to be revitalized by the atmosphere, as if coming alive. There's no magical explanation for this-- its just his mental state. He has some sort of worship-like fascination with all this supernatural stuff.
There's even an element of faith in his behavior! Notice how Takaya, despite his passion and frustration with the main party, will take a deep breath... and say... very well. "fate" will decide who is right. Why would he say that without some kind of belief in a destiny, that something will guide the outcome in his favor? Notice how he puts on the illusion of calm only right up until its evident that fate isn't on his side, then he seems to claim an unfairness. He's not merely indifferent, he has faith that things will go in his favor, because it rightfully ought to.
And the idea that he doesn't believe himself to be a prophet-- I don't believe that for a second. Perhaps logically he knows that not to be literally true, its not like he hears Nyx's voice giving him advice, but there is very much something about his personality that feels he deserves that title to some extent, he almost certainly believes he is some sort of " truth bestower " as entirely evident by just how he presents himself and how he speaks. I mean.... " It appears even I am fallible " is a battle quote of his.
Though full disclosure.......... I appreciate you thinking I'm the expert on this guy, but I'm... just some nerd fascinated by him more than anything! And even if the above is me trying to describe a more objective look at canon Takaya... My headcanon take, the one I write, has been shifted by dozens of interactions and years of headcanons-- I wouldn't be surprised if I'm just misremembering details.
If the new game comes out and... it turns out his entire behavior and mannerism is just an act he does for fun purely because it tricks the weak minded, I mean valid and I'll take that L, but I have to admit I can't blame fanon for taking this as his personality if its consistently his behavior whenever he's on screen. ))

Intended to rewatch the final confrontation of RotJ, ended up rewatching the entire trilogy out of order. It turns into quite an enjoyable movie or two when you know what to rewind. I skipped pretty much all of the action scenes or scenes where Luke wasn’t on screen.
It’s very funny to turn back from the discourse an open to OT to look something up and it’s just a simple fairytale about the power of love.
What was Luke told about his father? He says “No, my father didn't fight in the wars. He was a navigator on a spice freighter” (which is already wild, he admires his dead father while thinking he was a drug dealer?), but he also doesn’t seem surprised when Obi-Wan says he was a Jedi, which implies he knew that already.
Leia’s message to Obi-Wan sounds weirdly formal now. Win some (the justification for her naming her son Ben), lose some. Obi-wan did say that nobody could know they’ve met, but this is a top-secret message meant for his eyes only.
The wildest part of ANH is Obi-Wan pulling out a lightsaber and dismembering someone in a bar fight
ANH’s approach to death-that-motivates-the-heroes feels particularly heartless when watched right after OWK. Let’s kill Luke’s entire family and Leia’s entire planet, and not address that at all! Luke’s allowed to mourn Obi-Wan because he’s a major character though, and Leia needs to comfort him because she’s the girl. Ugh. One of the biggest flaws of the film imo.
Really surprised to find that OT Vader has a sense of humor. I did not remember this part at all.
It’s also interesting how obviously he is pursuing his own agenda with Luke during ESB. He is reinvigorated! And I didn’t remember the two of them talking telepathically. I don’t understand what happened to his motivation in RotJ, though. He wanted Luke to fulfill his destiny by killing the Emperor and now he's loyal to the Emperor again?
It’s so weird that Vader doesn’t have the intimidation factor. Lando talks back to him. Some absolute rando at the beginning of ANH talks back to him. The Force is considered some kind of obsolete religion, good maybe for a few tricks. Very weird if only a decade ago there was an elite squad of force sensitives at his command that everyone knew about and feared, and they in turn were kept in line by the mere idea of angering him. Here he is a weirdly civil goth with a bucket on his head who’ll be polite unless you annoy him too much and he’ll strangle you and make a quip about it.
Han and Lando’s reunion looks so much like they’re going for a kiss instead of a hug that I’m almost ready to believe it was on purpose.
Han/Leia and ESB in general become much better if you skip the entire first half and only catch the scenes where they act like a normal couple. She’s dressed sensibly too, which is nice. Unfortunately, I wasn’t wise enough to skip the beginning of RotJ, and seeing Leia like this fills me with murderous rage.
RotJ has the most important scene in all of Star Wars and also the biggest amount of skippable screentime at least within the OT
Leia remembers a lot about her “real mother”. Look, GL, I know it was a cool ending sequence for episode III, but even the continuity was against fridging Padme...
Vader literally responds “It is too late for me, son” when Luke tries to talk him into abandoning the Dark Side. I’m glad this concept of the Dark Side as despair is that consistent and textual.
I think it’s very cute how Vader keeps glancing at Luke whenever he says something to Palpatine.
Alright, so Palpatine’s plan is: bait Luke with the obviously bullshit “if you feel anger towards someone responsible for many atrocities and kill him to prevent many more, you become as bad as him”; Luke attacks him; Vader must defend his master; Luke is forced to kill Vader; Luke falls into despair and doesn’t want to kill Palpatine anymore. That actually makes sense, at least until the last step.
“If you will not turn to the Dark Side, then perhaps she will”, and Luke ignites the lightsaber reflexively in a split second despite the whole purpose of his visit here. Relevant to a certain controversial thing from the ST. I think it’s funny that Palpatine almost had it, and then he had to go and remind Luke what was going on which made him snap out of it. He looks at his and Vader’s lost mechanical hands, decides that they’re the same, turns his back on him demonstrating trust, throws away his weapon and implies that his father is still a Jedi. Even if this leap of faith were not to pay off, that’d be a metal way to die.
Yeah, the entire confrontation makes sense if you view it from this angle, ignoring all the metaphysical nonsense.
It’s funny how the supposedly super powerful emperor just lets Vader grab him and falls down to his death. Can’t he levitate with the Force?
I am not immune to Anakin fading into the frame as a Force ghost. (And yes, as a viewer I wish the other two weren’t there, but whatever makes my boy happy.)

I think one of the biggest misconceptions in fandom is that ‘you’re prefect’ means ‘you don’t have to change’. It’s not illogical to jump to that conclusion but that’s not supported by the text.
Jinx has plenty of issues (most obviously hallucinations) that Silco doesn’t share with her so it’s not smth he can relate to/project his issues on, and she’s clearly a liability to his operations because of her instability. He must understand that those things are bad, he favors Jinx but he’s not delusional.
Silco actually is very proactive when it comes to dealing with trauma. Both him and Jinx surround themselves with mementos of their trauma, which implies to me that this was part of them dealing with their trauma/triggers, and it seems to have worked to the point that it even brings them comfort. The problem is that despite this they don’t actually process their emotions about the trauma, but this would be very hard for them to even notice.
However the point stands that Silco actively tries to deal with trauma, tries to ‘become a new (trauma-free) person’. Two times he repeats the same sentiment to Jinx
“You’re strong now, just like you were always meant to be. Jinx is perfect.”
“Don’t cry. You’re Perfect.”
Both times Jinx is ‘being weak’, first she was haunted by her ptsd flashbacks and then by her hallucinations, and Silco understands this. He’s telling her not to cry as she crying and that she’s strong as she came to him cos she felt weak. It’s a plea or a lesson for her to be strong, even tho it’s hard, combined with Silco’s confidence that she’ll definitely succeed.
The thing is that Jinx thinks love is conditional. That there are values/ideals that you have to fit, in order to be deserving of love and to not be left behind. That’s why I think telling Jinx stuff like ‘I love you’ doesn’t work, it doesn’t convey the message to her cos her mind has too many hoops to jump through to truly accept that. I think it’s one of the reasons why Vi is failing, cos she keeps making these grand statements of acceptance that can’t really stick in Jinx’s mind, not before Jinx can put all of them to the test first.
Imo Silco understands this and by telling her “You’re perfect” he’s trying to jump through all the hoops for her to effectively communicate to her that he’ll always love her, despite her flaws. I think both Silco and Jinx realize that she has problems, but it doesn’t matter cos no matter what criteria Jinx has in her head for ‘deserves to be loved’ Silco tells her that, for him, she meets all of them. With no more hoops left, it’s successfully communicated to Jinx that she’s truly loved.
That’s why the script said smth like ‘the declaration of love she always wanted’ and not ‘dad thinks he knows me but he can’t even name the top 3 things I hate about myself and my life smh’.

I'm not sure I buy the "you are controlling kris" theory after playing chapter 2. The way people talk seem to imply Kris being this silent protagonist type is normal for them. And unlike undertale there isnt misdirection implying the player is a self insert without saying it, Deltarune directly opens saying "You are Kris", basically saying you don't get a choice of who you get to be. Mixed with the fact that if the player was a foreign invader ruining Kris' life, theres no reason why they'd put the soul back in seeing how they are clearly capable of taking it out and keeping it out. It almost feels like Kris taking the soul out allows them to act on impulses they otherwise wouldn't (eating all the pie, making their home into a dark world). Its hard to elaborate a full theory in an anon message but something seems off thinking the same undertale meta applies to deltarune
?? imo its VERY strongly implied that kris isnt normal like theres a bunch of moments where people comment on kris being "more talkative than usual" when youre controlling them. that on top of a lot of other things, like when you go around interacting with the town theres pretty much constant 'kris is behaving abnormally' stuff, like them being unable to play piano when youre controlling them (its mentioned theyre good at it), people being weirded out that kris seems to be seeing them for the first time, etc. plus meta things like you can watch the name YOU enter replaces 'kris' when you first make a save at the start of chapter 2
that doesnt mean the meta is the exact same as undertale's, but its pretty evident that the player is in control of them to Some extent and that kris is different from how they usually are when You take control

Anonymous asked:
About ephemeral, maybe it's just me but wasn't Marinette's reaction to Luka hinting that he knows her identity a little... underwhelming? I mean she is a smart girl so I believe she understood what he was implying (on top of that the fact that she contacted him when she was in trouble) and she doesn't say anything about it? Like I guess the scene was supposed to be about her feelings for Adrien (ugh), but still, was a little weird
I genuinely don’t think that Marinette got the message, especially since Luka uses gender neutral terms. If anything, she might think he’s talking about Adrien being Chat, which is either funny or sad depending on your point of view.
I think she texted Luka because she believed in his intuition to know that things were serious and he had to hurry.
Anonymous asked:
//Ephemeral spoilers// Once again a loathe parallelogram bait ep succeded even more in showcasing how lovely Lukanette is. Now *that* I didn't see coming for Darling 100~, but I was happy to see our blueberries trusting and supporting each other. The only thing that saddened me was that the whole "Mari seeing Ad*ichat as one and the same to wuv" was set off by Luka already knowing both of their identities, and thus confirms he's ok with the LS despite him knowing the whole picture :c
I didn’t see it that way at all. Also, Luka doesn’t have the whole picture, especially because a lot of it is stuff that the show doesn’t let the public see (such as Chat’s whole “I love you so much I can’t control myself” red flag).
imo, even if Luka sees some warning signs, he wouldn’t intrude unless they were undeniable ones, because he prioritizes what Marinette wants and feels like he has no right to get in the way.
It doesn’t mean that Luka supports the love square, it just means that he’s letting Marinette do as she wishes (so it’s more like he supports what Marinette wants; as he stated in “Felix,” he’s fine with whoever she wants to be with and he’s there for her no matter how it goes). I also don’t think he was telling her how to feel about the Adrien-Chat reveal, I just think he was answering her question and telling her how he personally felt. Whether she only went along with his opinion or not, I imagine he doesn’t know.
Another thing to note that I found interesting is Luka’s specific line when he’s talking to Marinette:
Luka: I feel like you're not hearing the same tune anymore when you look at Adrien.
But here’s the big question: if the answer was as simple as “oh, Marinette’s actually just more in love with Adrien after learning he’s Chat, she’s just overthinking/stressed,” then why isn’t it the “same tune” anymore? Wouldn’t it be “the same tune but better” or “a similar tune but with more notes that she has to get used to”?
Luka’s line there comes off to me as a big red flag as to the fact that Marinette isn’t in love with Adrien/Chat (especially because she’d be thinking clearer if she was and wouldn’t so easily reveal her identity), but as I’ve stated before, she’s taking Luka’s experience as advice.

give the people what they're asking for!!!! (they're asking for your tonynat meta/headcanons)
hahaha thank you - i didn't know that's what the people wanted! happy to - though i have pages and pages of meta on ironwidow, so if you're looking for thoughts on certain scenes! i also have 1000 headcanons but here are my top ones:
headcanons that could technically exist in canon
1. natasha saved tony in siberia in cacw. anyone who's spoken to me for more than 5 minutes about ironwidow (or read delicate!) knows about this headcanon. and really, it just makes sense to me. how else did he get out? it also ties together my theory that ironwidow in cacw mirrors ironwidow in im2, almost to the letter in terms of scenes. i'm happy to write something longer about this if you’d like!
2. tony did not hold a grudge against natasha for the airport in cacw. okay, obviously he was upset when she confronted him (see meta about that here and here) but tony is not a grudge-holder. c'mon, the man is relentlessly hopeful! cacw is just about both his and steve's low points, and rightfully. i truly believe that after black widow, and nat meeting up with steve and co. (if she even did that right away) one of them managed to send a message, probably through clint. can't you see it? tony showing up on the farm "let me talk to her." clint: "you all broke her heart. and the worst part? you didn't even think she had a heart to break." but then ofc mutual apologies and they were chill. idk how else to explain how chill they are in endgame. 3. natasha didn't "not recommend" tony for the avengers. at least, not in the damning sense that fury implied. she's too smart for that. she knows that im2's situation was wild, and tony still managed to pull it together. fury's too much of a spy for me to trust him on things that no one else ever mentioned. 4. "they're coming for you" was meant as a threat. 5. this isn't ironwidow per se, but team ironman (i.e., rhodey and pepper) like natasha a lot. this is pretty obvious with rhodey imo, but i also think that nat and pepper respect and like each other. pepper is more in control of her emotions than tony, and i bet more than anything recognized a similar (though greater) control in nat. i also hate when people pit them against each other.
headcanons for an established ironwidow
1. tony kisses nat's thumb when he's playful because he's teasing her about a conversation where she told him she could kill a man with one thumb. he does the same when he's worried about her, to remind himself that she can protect herself. 2. he builds her a suit. duh. 3. no one is the big or little spoon more - they both love both positions. 4. i'm hesitant to rule it completely out, but i don't think they have biological kids without certain circumstances. they do adopt hella superheroes though. 5. tony calls nat every endearment under the sun, but it's most frequently honey. nat calls tony solnishko, or little sun, because he brought her out of the dark.

this is like twitter all over again :<< readers not looking at the bio first and youve already warned them you write dark contents. they can just block you instead of spreading another drama disease in the fandom. i hope you're doing alright! dont let them get to you and write whatever you want <33
Ok I got a lot of messages last night, thank you all, my final thoughts just to get the venting out of my system:
I guess what I don't get is like. Ppl in these posts are always like "well I checked the blog out and found noncon" which shouldn't... Be surprising... Since it's right there at the top? Why is digging through the blog even necessary? Why are people surprised Pikachu face over the fact that a blog that says "DARK content: yandere, non/con, incest" contains.... Exactly what it says it contains? Lol
That and, again I'm 100% ok with people saying like. "Oh warning this blog contains this so you can block if that bothers you".
It's another thing to, as a lot of antis do, "block/dni this person, they write/draw this", and discuss it with negativity, because then you're deeming that content inherently bad or icky and basically drawing a moral line in the sand.
The issue with that is it's, imo, really inconsiderate/ignorant of a lot of the reasons why many people create and consume dark content in general - they're often coping/mental health/trauma related. (Not that it has to be! You don't have to justify why you like it, some people just do!)
But shaming the coping methods people use to handle these by implying they're inherently gross or bad, can not only serve to cause psychological damage to people who already have such issues, but it perpetuates harmful social attitudes that are already very inconsiderate of victims and tells them they don't deserve a space where they can healthily express and deal with their experiences, that any space where they do so is "bad."
So, I'm not irritated over people not liking certain content, and I'm fine with being blocked if people don't like it. I just wish that people had a more empathetic and understanding response to the existence of problematic content itself and why it exists rather than implying it inherently *should* be blocked and is inherently icky, which was the vibe I got.

It's alright if u don't wanna answer this cuz this argument gets people really riled up but do you think c!Techno is a tyrant or nah?
Cuz many c!techno apologists argue that he isn't just cuz he's an anarchist but I've also read a lot of essays that go against it and it'd be really interesting to see ur opinion on this
i think he, in some contexts, can most definitely be called tyrannical, yes. a tyrant? no.
to avoid spamming ppl w discourse we've all def heard before (and bc this ended up MASSIVE (like 2.3k ish), but fairly in depth bc i didnt wanna speak out of bad faith and wanted to be EXPLICTLY clear-- oops), the rest will be under readmore
so heres the thing i want to preface: i used to really LOVE c!techno. i joined beginning of s2, right when exile started, and he was arguably my favorite character. since then though i've fallen out with him a LOT, to the point i almost... actively despite him at times (though mainly in a toxic kind of way which i can acknowledge is flawed).
in short, his actions started to speak louder than his words and i lost investment in his personal character struggles because of the actions he took (doomsday was my breaking point. i get feeling angry and betrayed, as well as seeking revenge against lmanberg, but his actions went too far for me to CARE and it hurt so many more characters as well.)
so when i speak, i come from a place of disliking him but also somewhat understanding the position c!techno apologists come from: i used to be one of them myself.
NOW, do i think he's a tyrant? no. for reference in my analysis, i try to look up the definition of terms to make sure they are utilized properly. while "tyranny" and "tyrannical" can have multiple uses, tyrant itself is a more specific term. to combine the top two definitions, a tyrant is referring to "an extremely oppressive, unjust, or cruel absolute ruler (who governs without restrictions, especially one who seized power illegally.)"
techno's position as an anarchist, imo, DOES indeed make him unable to be a tyrant. tyrants are rulers with very clear power over others from a structural way. anarchists are about the lack of structure or power over others and instead viewing the people around you as equals in power.
in forming the syndicate, they very explicitly worked to not designate a leader and instead make it so that no one would have any power over the others systemically. techno may have taken a integral role, yes, but it doesn't make him suddenly "the leader", its a role that wouldve had to be filled by someone (even if it was democratic to decide who to invite, they'd need someone to hand over the invite itself yknow? like no matter WHAT there needed to be A ROLE)
one could argue that he IS a leader in the shadow hierarchy of the syndicate (which, yes, is a real and professional term used in management courses despite sounding like it comes from a 4kids yugioh dub) in that everyone CONSIDERS and looks to him a leader without him having any actual structural basis behind it, but to argue that allows him to be a tyrant is in bad faith i believe. especially because to the people he would be "ruling", he ISNT oppressive, unjust, or cruel. they are his friends and support network and critical for a lot of his personal development (since feelings of betrayal and trust issues are critical to his character and why he acts the way he does). I wish we were able to SEE this develop more, but oh well.
but like i said: tyrant is fairly specific in definition. TYRANNY, and thus TYRANNICAL are not as limited. I've discussed their definitions here. originally, i made that post because i was angry at a take i had seen that claimed that, like you said, because techno was an anarchist and not part of any government or leadership position, he couldn't be tyrannical. to which i heartily disagree.
for something to be tyrannical, they simply must have an overarching/oppressive power over someone or something. it would not be inaccurate if i were to say that something is "under the tyranny" of a concept, because what it means is that something is under the power of another thing/concept. you can frankly call anything tyranny if it is widespread/overarching and you don't like it. mask mandates? tyranny, its forcing me to act in "rigorous condition". hell, theres even such things as tyranny of the majority in which people agree too much on one thing and it gives them unfair power or tyranny of the minority where people with minority opinions have too much power (thats a very grossly oversimplified definition of both, but it covers the base idea well enough for my point)
the point im making above isnt meant to be taken as "anything can be worked to be defined as tyranny thus it is a meaningless claim", it is that tyranny (and again, thus tyrannical) are very open and nonrestrictive terms.
to make it easier to define, alongside the definitions provided i want to add an explicit clause that is (imo) implied in the original definition: tyranny is... well, bad. that is to say if someone has power over a group but literally everyone is fine with it and agrees to it, its not tyranny. thats just a group of people getting along and one happens to have power over another. a leader does NOT equal a tyrant (as discussed above), so leadership should not be equated with tyranny.
thus as an example: wilbur acting as president (before the election) may have been "unelected" with power over his citizens, but no one was upset with that power. thus, he is not a tyrant and not acting tyrannically (as well as the fact his power was, arguably, NOT rigourous or absolute but thats another topic for another time). SCHLATT however IS a tyrant, as his power was absolute (he did not consult his cabinet) and forced people to comply instead of them complying willingly, thus he was acting tyrannically.
now to finally get to the damn point of this essay: where does c!techno lie? honest answer? it depends slightly on your perspective, but it depends a LOT on the future of the syndicate.
techno is incredibly clear in his goals: no governments, no corruption. in fighting with pogtopia, he is actively working to topple a tyranny-- he isn't tyrannical for doing that.
when he strikes out on nov 16th, it is because he opposes them forming a new government. when they oppose him and disagree, he launches an attack against them. is this tyranny? maybe, but probably not. he IS trying to impose his own physical strength and power (as well as his resources) over the others to stop them from doing what HE doesn't want them to do.
however its more nuanced than that:
1. hes lashing out emotionally as well as politically. he feels betrayed by those he trusted and he believed that they would destroy the government then go (i'm ignoring any debates on if he did or did not know that they planned another government, though it is a source of debate). but typically idk about you but i dont call tyranny for someone fighting with another person.
2. he also may be acting with good intent again, in HIS EYES. if tubbo was part of manburg, whos to say he wont be just as bad? he, in his pov, is likely trying to stop another tyrant before they rise.
3. and finally, and tbh the most damning from any perspective: he gives up. he quickly leaves then RETIRES without intent to try and attack again until he is later provoked. tyranny is defined by it not just being power, but power being USED. if he doesn't use his power to try and impose any will, then he's not tyrannical.
Doomsday I am also not going to touch very in depth on for much of the same reasons. My answer is again a "maybe", depending on the weight you personally place on each issue:
1. he's lashing out as revenge for the butcher army and as revenge against tommy for "betraying" him (though this one we explicitly know he was ignoring the fact tommy did not want to go through with it, however he still did trust and respect tommy regardless so his feelings are understandable anyway)
2. he sees new lmanberg as corrupt and tyrannical (which is undeniable: house arrest for noncompliance, exile without counsel, execution without trial, etc), and thus obligated to destroy it
but also, theres the implicit understanding he's doing this to send a message: do not form a government, or else. its a display of force that also works to warn others unless they want a similar fate. phil even explicitly states that he is doing so to send that message, so one could assume techno is doing the same alongside his personal reasoning listed above.
what i just described is the use of a oppressive and harsh (physical) power in order to gain compliance from people (that compliance being 'not making a government'). does that sound familiar? exactly. it follows the definition(s) of tyranny given previously. technoblade is acting in a way that is, by very definition, tyrannical.
so the debate shifts: is he valid in doing so because he is trying to PREVENT corruption and tyranny. like i said, new lmanberg was undeniably corrupt at points. i held nothing against techno for trying to topple manburg, so does that apply to new lmanberg as well? short answer: i dont know. it depends on your specific opinion of what is acceptable. its like the paradox of tolerance: to have a truly tolerant society, you have to be intolerant of intolerance. to have a truly non-tyrannical society, do you need to have a tyranny enforcing it?
personally (and bc im a lmanberg loyalist /hj) i say it is. regardless of the corruption of new lmanberg, they are also giving a threat to EVERYONE. even those who are innocent, they are presented with the exact same threat and rule set: if you make a government, you will be destroyed.
(which, small divergence here, is part of why debating c!techno is so frustrating. so many times you end up hitting a "well it depends on your political views" situation and there ISNT a correct answer there. im here to analyze characters for fun, not debate political theory)
so: the syndicate then. this is where this debate really "took off" and i think its due to one very specific miscommunication about its goals and plans. the syndicate, upon formation, declares itself to stand against corruption and tyranny. when they are found, the syndicate would work to destroy it. so heres the golden question: what do THEY define as corruption and tyranny? if you were to go off c!techno's previous statements, seemingly "any government" is a valid answer. however, he also states he's fine with people just being in groups together hanging together.
what then DEFINES A GOVERNMENT for them? what lines do they have to sort out what does "deserve to be destroyed" and what does "deserve to exist freely"
this is a hypothetical i like to post when it comes to syndicate discourse:
i have a group of people. lets say 5 or so for example. they all live together and build together. any decisions made that would impact the entire group they make together and they must have a unanimous agreement in order to proceed, but otherwise they are free to be their own people and do their own thing. when you ask them, they tell you they are their own nation and they have a very clearly defined government: they are a direct democracy. does the syndicate have an obligation to attack?
there is absolutely no hierarchy present. there is no corruption present. but, they ARE indeed a government. is that then inherently negative? my answer is fuck no (see the whole "difference between a tyrant and a leader" thing above).
but THATS where the issue of this discourse LIES. in some people's eyes, the answer to that is YES. techno's made it clear "no government" is his personal view, but does that spread to the syndicate as a whole? do they act preemptively in case it DOES become corrupt? is it inherently corrupt because its a government, regardless of how it is ruled? the fact of the matter is because of how little we've seen the syndicate work as a SYNDICATE, we don't know that answer. so we're left to debate and speculate HOW they would act.
if the syndicate were to let that government exist, then they are not tyrannical. they are showing that they are working to stop tyranny and corruption, just like in pogtopia again.
if the syndicate were to destroy/attack that government, then they are tyrannical. simple as that. they are enforcing a rule of their own creation without any nuance or flexibility under the threat of absolute destruction.
miscommunication in debates comes, in my opinion, in the above. of course theres more points of nuance. for example:
would the syndicate allow a government like i had described with early lmanberg, where there is an established hierarchy but everyone in the country consents to said leadership? on one hand, there is no tyranny or corruption present which is what they are trying to work against. on the other hand, theres more a possibility of it occuring. perhaps they'd find a middle road between the two binary options of "leave or destroy" i am presenting, such as checking in occasionally to ensure no corruption occurs.
but if they were to destroy it without, for lack of a better word, "giving it a chance" they would be, in my opinion, tyrannical. they would be going aginst their words of opposing corruption and instead abusing their power to gain compliance.
your/others opinions may differ, again it depends on if you see it as worth it to possibly stop future tyranny or if a hierarchy is INHERENTLY a negative thing.
part of the reason so many blog gave up this debate, beyond not getting very clear answers for the syndicate, is because of the nuance present. there. is. no. right. answer. every single person will view it differently, because there is no universally agreed upon truth of right or wrong here. BUT, i hope this helps shed some light on the discussion and my thoughts on it
