Admittedly they are someone I haven't spoken to in a very long time, so I hope that they've been doing okay and still doing art cause they do some great work. ^^

But anyway! To provide some context behind these pieces and how they came to be. Some of yous may have heard this story before, but to explain it for those who may not know…

Back in 2018, I was already starting to feel a slow attachment to furry stuff. I had a lot of sympathy for furs cause of the bs that they would deal with from arseholes and the like, and just how extreme it got (Most notably the hotel gas attack at Midwest Furfest in 2014.).

Soon enough I came across the subreddit r/Furry_IRL back when I use to browse reddit pretty regularly. There I saw what appeared to be this sort of self-awareness and embrace of cringe, which included heaps of irony in the process. It made things a lot more charming cause it felt as if Furries were getting a lot bolder despite the years of attacks, harassment, etc. They dealt with it, and at the same, there was a vibe that made me feel people were more accepting, no matter how weird you got. At the time I was pretty alone, got bullied a lot, and in typical fashion, this was the group I gravitated to more over time.

I should add I do know now the more negative connotation that subreddit gives, and honestly, I have a lot of critiques as well. But at the time, this was just an important thing for me where I felt like I had no other group to be with.

Around October, I was in a voice call on Discord with two friends which included Igloo9201 (Nickname them Iggzy. ::B) and Silverstar. I believe I was sharing some of the memes I came across, and we were all joking about becoming furries and all. I had no plans at that point, but we were all poking each other and being dorks about it.

I was eventually asked the inevitable question though that changed the course of my life by Silverstar…

"Hey TAGG. If you had to pick a sona, what would you choose?"

I had to think! Spider wasn't my first thought at the time, and I was actually thinking at first a Kangaroo, just cause it was a main Australian animal, but at the same time I was reading this Manga called "I am a Spider, So What?", with a main character with a very self-explanatory thing about them. ::B

As you can see from their design, I found them extremely cute and at that point, I hadn't really seen any designs of spiders like this that weren't just meant to be evil. So it felt like it could be nice to go for a species that you probably wouldn't expect, even if it was a contribution to the #1 phobia that people have. ::B

I think at this time I was also getting interested in Peacock Spiders, I was fascinated by their peculiar dance-y behaviour. Obviously was meant for mating, they still had such an interesting personality that it really grew on me. Learning how basically they were all harmless on top of that really made them jump in my mind especially.

As a result, my answer was obvious. Cut to some time into the call, I am surprised by the drawings Silverstar did, and on the same day, I ended up making a Furaffinity account with them.

At that point, the rest was history!

It was a fun end result of everything, I love seeing how much Leo evolved from here. There hasn't been too many obvious changes, outside of him eventually being more based on the Sparklemuffin Spider I soon discovered some time after getting Leo.

The biggest differences that do stand out at least is his body being more like a harder looking shell, compared to the fur covering him all over. His abdomen is a lot more flatter than more rounder in shape. There's also a lot less head hair as well, and most notably his the number of eyes were the biggest change as well, which you will see in a lot of these art pieces I like to call "The Prototype" versions of Leo. ::B

I do feel like I need to do more stuff with Leo in a suit, it was a fun thing I miss doing especially since it tied with the intended "He will get in whatever fit if it means he will get to dance" characteristic I thought up at the time. It was also kind of a thing that was a reference to one of my old as heck usernames, which was on a bit of the embarrassing side, but eh, got to repurpose through this. XXD

I still really appreciate Silverstar for the art, I still hold these pieces fondly in my heart, and grateful of both them and Iggzy for what they did on that day that got me into being a furry and getting my spidey self! Heck they probably are the reason I kind of found out a lot more about myself, being asexual/panromantic, finding new folks, etc. A true butterfly effect. ::P

The cheap adopts info-

(Will range from 3 USD to 25-30, it depends. We’re basically going to make a whole price range, less complex adopts on base or not in chibi forms for 3-5 USD at least and the highest I’d ever think we’d go is 30-40 for special events. You have an option to pay for those for much less OR wait for a sale where you could get more content for that price, it’s all gonna depend how we feel. 30-40 would be for complicated hand drawn refs and an added headshot etc. Or, one for 20-25 on base with added on art.

It’s all gonna depend on how well our sales are received. So don’t take any of those higher prices as solidified. All we know for sure right now is that there’ll typically be a lot of 3-5 USD ones along with 10-12 USD. They usually will be that cheap. Our goal is to provide lower prices and discounts out of our own kindness, and because we are in a place where we are financially comfortable and well taken care of, and we just want to give back for that privilege out of our own want, while still making a couple dollars on the side for our system so they can buy things for themselves. And also to get Fawn things as gifts for her hard work in school, and fuel her special interests of course. She has had jobs in physical establishments but they have taken such a toll on her physical health (asthma attacks and more) AND mental health, and she deserves to rest and be able to do art at home or have her alters do it. We’ll actually be living some time in Colombia each year where she’ll be hella pampered like she deserves. So yes, we just want to do a nice thing and also making these specific adopts accessible (you’ll see some of the ideas in a minute :) ) because of how much fandoms or any kinds of special interests/hyperfixations can mean to people, and we wanna give a discount on that.

-Most of our adopt ideas is making feral/furry adopts of who we’re based on and other characters from DFTM OR references (such as mark’s adopts hes planning based off of the movies hes canonically reviewed,) (if anyone is interested,) and again if anyone is interested there will be other fandoms, for those who are also fictives, fictkin of them, or have them as comfort characters.

But that won’t be all we make. We’ll make a variety of things.

My Artworks Throughout 2022

We’re almost at the end of this month and the entire year of 2022. After all the things happening; including the events, news, reveals, etc. It was a lot of ups and downs. My personal take however was me and my family already moved to our new home, playing recent games and content like 👊MultiVersus and ☕️Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, and once again sharing some art trades with my friends. I would hope that someday when growing up is to do earnings via art commission like one of my friends does. At least that my suggestion, but not bad. For now, here’s to look forward of what I’ll do for next year. Something for support or creativity, It’ll be a ride for 2023 straight ahead. like one of the anons, i also prefer giving high quality art to more novice artists. they likely cant afford quality commissions, and skilled artists are usually so busy/popular that gifts or trades are out of the question. so, considering myself a decently skilled artist, no matter the context i love specifically targeting younger or newer artists, because it would likely make them incredibly happy to get well-rendered pieces that they could never get otherwise. i know when i was younger and got pieces of unexpected quality, i definitely fawned over them for years after. so i want to create that experience for others.

the only thing that can objectively divide an art ss is art type; headshot, fullbody, polished piece, etc. it should have otherwise been totally random. its an exchange of /gifts/, if you demand something of equal value, youre looking for an actual art trade so you can choose who youre getting art from.

it is unfortunate that Owner even managed to taint festive gift-giving, looking at all the anons negatively impacted it. just keep in mind how much value you should put in someone like Owner's opinions, given her opinions on other things.

#6: Anything that might inspire you subconsciously?

Oh my god so many things. Fruits Basket, mostly and constantly, as my first anime, but also Redwall illustrations (my true goal /hj) and, unsurprisingly, friend art! I often find new things I want to try by looking at my friends' art and going HMMM CAN I DO THAT? (that's actually how I discovered my latest "comic book" style lineart - looking at art from a friend and taking their thick-lines-as-shadows method a step further).

#9: What are your file name conventions?

I'm terrible about not following my own rules, but I try to do this for all my CSP files:

type of art (art trade, commission, art payment, gift art) - I don't label it if it's personal art

username of person its for if any of the above categories

name of character(s) in the piece

what medium its in (only applies to pixel art, if it doesn't have the pixel label, its digital)

where to tag the character owner (TH, dA, FA, instagram, tumblr, etc.)

If it's a .PNG, I also add on:

What stage the art is at (Sketch, lines, flats, fin)

Whether its got a bg or its transparent bg (BG or transp BG) (because I almost always make one of each)

Hi, I'm a small artist and I need advice... how do I get more customers? covid has been screwing me over and I'm doing commissions to keep me alive a little, but I don't get any customers and I'm really frustrated...

Oh, i hope i can help!

I’ll say what i’ve done to make it out there, it worked for me, but i also think i got a better time and on places that no longer exist, but i don’t see why it won’t work, so here we go:

Get your name out there! “But how?” I don’t like the vague answer too, so the steps i took were:

Make gift art! I made a few of these when i was starting, to artists that inspired me and also worked with commissions. It’s not a waste of your time, they enjoy the gift (be genuine! I was eager to show my art to them) and you spread to more audience!

Post most of the time. Do not have to be your art all the time, it’s super hard to art every day. On twitter/tumblr, posts can : Commenting on others art, nice things, sharing other people’s arts. Keeping a social meda up is serious job.

Make “ghost” commissions. You have no client, therefore you don’t have a product, right? WRONG. Make some examples of what you an do, create an imaginary oc, or even better: Do an art trade with another artist, so you’ll have a product! People gotta see what you have to show.

Reply the comments you get, interact with the followers you have, because they’re your support so far, they already like you as you are!

Do fanart, or do personal content, or both! Show things you like to draw, what kind of commissions you’d love to take? Let people know!

When i started, i was in a very bustling WoW community, and just by interacting with other artists i made a small name for myself, commenting, liking, etc. This community now is on twitter, and twitter is a bit harder to get yourself out there, as i saw myself after the tumblr ban.

But it’s also important to have personal projects, even i do, and my personal project was “life as commission artist fulltime” (because personal project can be do art that is not work)

Commission art is just as much of freelancer as working in contract on disney and other studios. So keep things in motion.

Keep in mind that it’s what worked for me so far, i only know this experience up close, it might not be as useful now, because i made my base back in 2015.

So I finally had the time, energy, and motivation to start cleaning my room for real and set up all my merch for Harry Potter in a lil corner. It's not finished yet but hype:

The framed Jeddy picture on the left is a commission I got from @ame-reflets-dans-l-eau ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTISTS AND I HAVE IT DISPLAYED HONORABLY, and the one on the right was a Christmas gift @weasleywood || @varrictetris sent me!!!

It took me a while but I'm glad I'm finally getting it set up ❤ I want to somehow print out all the other commissions I've gotten and frame them and hang them up too, but a lot of send away places won't print art of the artists signature is on the piece, and I don't like that. A watermark/signature is part of the art, wtf, I want it on there damn it 😤 so if anyone knows where I can get prints that keep the signature, hmu.

I hope I can kedp it all up, too. I have this weird anxiety OCD thing where I'm like, near terrified to fully unpack, even if I've been living somewhere for a while, because I feel like if I unpack and actually get comfortable somewhere, I'm going to just be forced to move. It happened a lot when I was younger. It's taken me two full years to really start unpacking and making my apartment mine. I really hope it doesn't come back to get me.

I do not want/need all of these mini pops. I'll keep some of them (like fleur and Harry etc) but if anyone wants the ones in the photo above or wants to trade something hmu. I gave one of the Harry's and one of the Ron's to Weasel and I gave Dumbledore to a friend irl, so I don't mind parting with these guys ♡

I'm going to say something random. I notice that when I visit some sort of thing (ex video, price of art, etc) I notice a lot of good things happen to that creator either straight away, or it takes time. But when it DOES happen it something huge! I didn't notice it at first but I just think it's some strange coincidence. But if I'm some sort of lucky charm I don't know how to think about that.

Well, well! This ask actually caught my eye for a moment, and I feel I might add some say on this.

Usually, such luck can happen to anyone, though it usually depends on who they are and how they are. Sometimes, those with a very bad attitude don’t get the luck because they do things that hurt others. You can only earn the luck if you are one with good morals, treating others fairly and apologizing for anything you do, whether it be a late commission or an unexpected delay of a video. If you are good to others and keep your promise, expect luck to come to you. Sure, it may not happen now or anywhere, but sometimes it can leave a good smile on your face when such an event happens.

Also, actual story: I was actually pretty lucky to have a popular Warrior Cats artist get interested in my business proposal for a Cookie Run MAP (multi-animator project) that I’ll be hosting once my OC MAP is finished. I managed to get them invested as I went into full detail of the project and what it was about, and they kept telling me about how much they actually liked the script and the concept art. Literally all that, and it was the luckiest day of my life. I guess I only get luck such as that because I keep wearing that pentagram choker on the daily to where I am always a magnet for getting unexpected gifts. That, or because of my romantic partner because they’re the love of my life and things have gotten better for me when they came to my life.

In a nutshell, once I finally begin work, I’ll be saving up to pay an artist I somehow managed to get really excited for my MAP and I got really lucky to have them participate in my MAP real soon. For now, I have commissions and trades to finish first.

Recently, @altamaranempire​, @terribly--artistic​, and I have been archiving a bunch of the Strangers project by Felix Kramer just in case anything ever happens to the site. As kind of a “present” to ourselves for the hard work, we did a little art/character trade sort of thing and made strangers for each other! 

TOP: A quick drawing I did this evening of a new Strangers character I got from a trade with @altamaranempire​! It’s a fan variant of Nerodroni she made. I’ve decided to call it Roundhay after the oldest currently preserved motion picture. They’re sharing an... interesting memory that’s at risk of being forgotten forever with some curious little friends. Normally, Roundhay’s particular variety likes to track down sensitives whom they think the memory is most likely to be... well, remembered by, and try to show it to them so the information isn’t lost. When no sensitives are around, they’ll give up and find another Stranger instead, whether they’re interested (or even capable of being interested) or not. BOTTOM: My half of the trade - A fan variant of Vessobrine! I figure unlike a typical vessobrine, it can generate in areas of very low light instead of total darkness, and has a strong instinct to wander from dark corner to dark corner to look for Mysterious Goodies. It’s also got an extra pair of arms for grabbing curiosities!! Its markings are green, and befittingly, when touched it makes the area appear illuminated in an artificial green glow instead of bathed in sunlight. Think the light cast by a cheap, possibly radioactive toy.

MY thought of a user who ask me of request on my character concept art dA profile

On my character art concept dA profile - after the guy just randomly pop up and say hello and he ask me to do a request and it got me very frustrated and yet the start that it should have been previously if it werent for shit to happen;; as started I dont do those art trade and request stuff;; known what I did request for other people on other site since last time was 2015 and long ago I draw them to turn out bad it isn't my yet taste off back then till I only did for the once that it for no more;; art trade as I stop as of 2017 to mostly ever since how I got that art block because of the troll girl who just been bad to me that started the crap and everything ELSE!!!!!!!! FOR DAMNED REASON after these time off!!!!! I dont care about being fame or population or most part off and just things;; and there is a user who said to me on side account friends request dA profile = it is about something about she does not have fanbase which it really got me into something realize that I wanted have this before since that was goal since 2009 the adore and support of my OC pairing with Canon that another thing which it means alot and it completed of present day;; but the another line = since the user that I ask the request she could try but she does not have a big fanbase which it really got me into something that I wanted promote and adoring of the work and love of my ocs and such;; promote things and what else what really means to it love of my work and great honestly like for fan if I could have well for fans if they truly like my work and ocs, depends friends... But no not with art status I dont do... I kid you not;; who just simply ask me to do a request;; I dont do no more request, no more art trade for people and stranger - what I hate to do art trade with people I hate doing them and that why I had to avoid that... Seriously this is what was made it started on october 2017 that started to affect my art block not drawing alot of own actual art and project = because of the troll girl and everything, like really the guy who want me want me the request I dont want to do it and specially I will never want to do my own drawing whenever I feel up to it as I'm in the mood time to time sometime as now a day I'm getting at art.. After all these times....... I hate doing art for people that I may not know off, nor cannot trust them for art status like request or art trade ect depending how it completely lost the trust off of art trade simply just simply to it and commission as it lead and ever since how I lost of interest of drawing my own art....... No, I dont want to give people to draw them nor art trade;; I want something as a fan base or supportist and work and I wanted to do in life just to work in production studio or anime studio.. I dont know what to say anymore;; this is also the understanding statement how I feel and I feel very mad about the person who ask me on my character art concept dA profile - the back up dA profile; who want me to do a request........ I dont know what to say, this is my realizes and though how I had to rant about the guy ask me to do his request - which I dont do no more art trade or request anymore..

In my all of my life.. Ever since being ask for request that the person wanted and he spoke me on a side account dA art character concept profile... sighhhh..... I dont know what to say anymore............ Since October I lost interest of drawing my own work of drawing like own project because of the troll girl - as time went along as it forgotten I still dont draw my own art/ own project not at all still and I rarely do most of the time - sometime.... I feel little mad and serious disappointed how the user ask me to do a request while I have my character art reference dA profile... I dont want to do art trade nor request ect for other people depends of unknowingly and such;; for art trade I fought alot of it;; I wish still to do those and I refused my own self I dont want too = as I know these are good thing to draw for others but it like leading to take most depends of trust and it cannot lead to advantage of art trade ;; I been drawing gift for people who means alot to me who really means alot to me; I thank you for being one of my best friends for the longest time as I remember off and stood of my side... As now a day I only do mututal // friends to draw my own art for gift and such and I am focusing on the character art concept.. I dont want no drawing art trade nor request to people ect;; I want fan base and support and loves for my ocs pairing canon character and etc ect for that of something I wanted a goal ever since I was a young lad in the end of the 2000s...... I feel very unpleasant for this day of today exists being ask of request to the user... ya'know I'm going to move along with it....   *face palm*  sighhhhhhhhh I dont want to be popular nor dont want to do no more art trade with people or request ect unless it necessary as I wanted fan base = that was the kids everyday that they wanted that not because they want to be popular but yeaa they want a fanbase for there own and included me...... I dont know what to say anymore..

also i believe the realm rules were quite different for this one? seemed like legion wasnt one person, and quentin was somehow really unafraid of napping.. also the way entering other people's realms worked, and man jesus poor quentin with that default wound..oh! right, the way healing works also seemed different? like it didn't feel like in ILM their healing processes kept being reset, i think it was also said they're slightly accelerated even :o (2/2)

Yeah! You’re very correct.

So, for most of the things I write for myself (or as gift or commission if unspecified), I use the world building I did for ILM (IE: trial realms only exist while the trial is going on, and killers all have their own little base areas, survivors the campfire [although more than one campfire exist because the default is not for all survivors to come/stay together], and all the areas connect to the Entity’s core somewhere, and they are shifted in location regularly, like an atom with its nuclear, or a solar system model [kind of]. In practice it’s kinda a shell game, because the randomization of locations makes it harder to organize or work or even /feel/ centered. It’s meant to discourage working against the Entity, finding answers, and being organized in general).

This one used a totally different layout system (traverse by walking through the fog, which metaphorically is like a hopping into a whirlpool with many islands stationary inside it [realms], and your determination/focus is what allows you to ‘swim’ to them, your familiarity with the location let’s you find them faster), because I wrote that fic as an art trade with @speckeltail , and about an event referenced in his ask blog @badham-bedhead — So, for the fic, I used his world building for the realm/realm rules and characterizations etc. We have very different Entities (or Birttanys, thanks the world’s best dyslexia moment for me yet 🤣) and since the Entity kind of morphs how the whole world would be made, they’re p different in some ways! It was really fun to explore some of the possibilities. I think the biggest overal difference between the world building systems is how death works and how rules work (ILM Entity is very particular in how it expends energy and doesn’t like to constantly insure everyone bc it’s a waste of fuel almost never actually necessary, so you die for real if you die outside a trial unless it is paying attention and intercedes in time, it works hard to keep people separated and isolated and is /very/ harsh towards interactions between killer and survivor if caught, accelerated healing outside of trials partially bc it doesn’t totally understand real world happenings, and partially because it likes people to be healthy enough to have a fighting chance in trials (if they have no shot bc they break their leg, for instance, they’ll lose hope /really/ fast and become useless to it). Speck’s Brittany is more casual/relaxed and does things for enjoyment more, so it’s rules are less meticulous and strict (survivors can easily go to killers’ home realms to scavenge and killers aren’t supposed to kill them, will be punished if they do—doesn’t care if they talk so long as it gets fed, will sometimes let people get away with stuff for amusement. Insured everyone always so there just /is/ no permanent death period, for killer or survivor. Pays less attention in general, and thus survivors can end up with permanent injuries between trials like Quentin has, because Entity is just like ‘oh how do you look again? Open chest wound? Got it’).

It’s a very different system, and I loved getting to explore how that would feel to exist in—death is a huge and fearsome stake, and losing it period loses some tension, but it also presents this fascinating reality of what does that mean? How do you assign meaning to death and suffering if there just /is/ no long term cost, no higher stakes fear? It’s just pain, and permanent stacking cognitive damage. And the dichotomy between people who would be like “it doesn’t matter then” (especially killers not wanting to feel guilt) and survivors struggling to carve out meaning by treating it like it does even if it feels like it doesn’t because it’s all they have, is such a cool idea, and I’m glad I got to play w it a little. If you’re interested, I’d totally ask Speck about his world building, because I got a few dive from him before writing that fic to make sure I did it right, and it was super fascinating! He’s even got a chart made for how the realms are laid out geographically.
