April to October 1977. Although the first issue of the Marvel STAR WARS comic has a cover date of July 1977, it appeared on newsstands in early April, about a month before the film debuted, and Lucasfilm first approached Marvel about a comics adaptation before the movie had even started shooting. Lucas was plainly a comics reader — as writer/editor Roy Thomas explains in a text page in the first issue, Lucas had even read Marvel's short-lived UNKNOWN WORLDS OF SCIENCE FICTION magazine — and for all Lucas's talk of Joseph Campbell mythological archetypes, the movies contain some probably non-coincidental similarities to the work of Jack Kirby, both from Marvel and DC. Lucas requested Thomas, whom he'd previously met, to write the comic, and also apparently asked for artist Carmine Infantino, who would later pencil the ongoing series, albeit not until after the adaptation of the movie was complete. The first 10 issues of the series were drawn by Howard Chaykin, who'd previously done some similar space-opera adventures, including his original "Ironwolf" strip in DC's WEIRD WORLDS in 1974–1975.
Thomas says in the text page that spreading the adaptation over six issues was his idea. That was generous for a movie adaptation (a few years later, Marvel adapted a variety of feature films, including BLADE RUNNER, in just two issues apiece), and was a fairly risky commercial move, but it paid off handsomely — I'm reasonably sure that this adaptation was by a healthy margin the most successful book Marvel published in the 1970s, going through multiple printings and being repackaged in an assortment of different ways. Unfortunately, this was before Marvel implemented its "incentive" (royalty) program for writers and artists, so it wasn't the windfall for Thomas and Chaykin that it would've been a few years later.
Tumblr media
The adaptation isn't Chaykin's best work, although the addition of Steve Leialoha as inker on issues #2 through #6 tightens up the likenesses and gives the line art a greater feeling of solidity. Since the comic was done before the movie was completed, there are some discrepancies, and the adaptation includes several scenes that were dropped from the film, including Luke running to tell his friends about witnessing the battle between Leia and Vader's ships (which Luke has seen through his macrobinoculars) and encountering Biggs. The second issue also includes Han's confrontation with Jabba the Hutt (initially spelled "Hut"), later added in the SW Special Edition. Since Thomas and Chaykin had no idea what Jabba was supposed to look like except that he was an alien, this is what they came up with:
Tumblr media
This version of Jabba reappeared twice in later issues of the series (#28 and #37, both penciled by Infantino). When Jabba's appearance was finally canonized in RETURN OF THE JEDI, Marvel made no attempt to explain the difference, which was really just as well. (If you dig around the Wookieepedia wiki, you'll find a rationalization for it that is absolutely NOT reflected in the original comics.)
Thomas and Chaykin also did the earliest post-movie stories, both in the STAR WARS title and serialized in Marvel's PIZZAZZ magazine, although these were not particularly distinguished and are really of interest only as curiosities. Thomas departed before either storyline was completed, with the comic book story wrapped up by Chaykin and Donald Glut and the PIZZAZZ serial continued by Tony DeZuñiga and Archie Goodwin. Goodwin would subsequently become the principal writer of the SW comic book until after THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and of the newspaper strip until 1984.

New question game for you, this time with 6 (!) options to choose from! From the following choices:
Ryan Gosling as Ken - Barbie (2023)
Jamie Dornan as Sheriff Graham/The Huntsman - Once Upon a Time (2011)
Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex Claremont-Diaz - Red, White and Royal Blue (2023)
Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson - Any MCU Thor appearance of your choice
KJ Apa as Archie Andrews - Riverdale (2017)
Charlie Hunnam as Arthur - King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
which of the following options would you choose to have with each of these men/characters?
~
Fuck - You will only ever have sex with this man and nothing else. There is no romance between you, it is simply for the sex.
Marry - You become their permenant spouse, and live together in whatever setting they exist in. You're expected to play the housewife, to cook and clean for them, but you are most definitely loved in this relationship. Sex is allowed.
Avoid - You know of this man, and they may be the perfect specimen, but no matter what you do you cannot get close to them. If you do get close, you are practically invisible to them. You may fantasise about them but those fantasies will not come true :(
Slave - This man owns you and you must do whatever they say: foot stool, sexual acts, errand boy, clothes washer, food preparer, personal seat, body massage, whatever they ask you will not say no.
Date - You get to experience dating with this man, and whatever that may entail based on the character you have chosen. Walks through nature, stargazing late at night, watching theatrical performances together, sampling foods and wines together. You will not have sex and you will not get married, but any form of dating is allowed. Kissing is allowed too.
Transform - This man transforms you into ONE inanimate object of his choice, which could range from items of clothing, to furniture, or whatever he deems useful (or humiliating) for you. You can keep all your senses but cannot transform back, or into something different.

GAME WITH FICTIONAL CHARACTERS
I don't know who you are but i thanks you so much for these games, they are amazing, and this one is probably your best so far 🥰
Please don't hesitate to send new games 😁
Maybe with less characters so it would be less difficult and quicker to answer, and you could alternate between short and long games. But I'm very thankful to you for them, and especially for doing fictional characters.
Here i know them all but I don't love them equally and they doesn't inspires me the same thing.
Don't hesitate to share your own answers 😁

FUCK : the Huntsman from the series ONCE UPON A TIME
Tumblr media
You know i find the Huntsman gorgeous if you have read my article about him here
I would fuck with him because he is lonely so that would give him some company, because I know he doesn't trust humans and prefer beasts, but i feel pity for him because he had a bad life and even end as a human sex toy.
Tumblr media
However, maybe having sex from time to time would have makes him feel happier. And I'm sure he would be passionate and smell like sweat and makes me lick him 🤤
Tumblr media
i would prefer to date Sheriff Graham, and i felt so frustrated when he died so soon!
Tumblr media
I feel really inspired by this character 😁

MARRY : ARCHIBALD "ARCHIE" ANDREWS from the series RIVERDALE (CW, Netflix)
Archibald "Archie" Andrews is my ideal man, everything i except from a man, physically (tall, muscled, great haircuts...) but especially mentally (passionate and romantic, sporty, open-minded and down-to-heart, confident).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe i should write about me where I am his traditional wife, maybe even his sissy wife
Here is my story about Archie as a dom bully, a protecting alpha being tender with his fag. I think its one of my best and favorite story 🥰
And of course I'd love having sex with Archie so being married to him would allow me to!
Tumblr media
Here you'll find pictures of Archie's hot chest
And here about why i love KJ Apa so much :
I hope to finish my story KJ Apa story soon 🤞
_
AVOID : ALEX CLAREMONT-DIAZ from Red, White and Royal Blue (Amazon Prime Video)
He is incredible but too perfect why his lover.
So i wouldn't dare interfering in their couple.
Tumblr media
_
SLAVE : Prince THOR from the MCU
King Thor deserves to have countless slaves.
As i described in my stories, i wish i could worship His huge feet, or anything He wants.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You'll find links of my stories about Thor here
Here I've asked you what my ideas for a plot about Chris Hemsworth and Thor are :
Thor is definitely the manliest man from the MCU because of how muscled and tall he is.

DATE : KEN from the movie BARBIE
He is kind, hot, cool, funny and wants someone to talk with, to protect... If I've been at Barbieland i would have been honored to hear him sing a song for me and massage his feet as it happens in the movie 🙏
Tumblr media
At first i didn't liked Ryan Gosling as Ken, and his hairs color too. My favorite Ken is from the animated series BARBIE - LIFE IN THE DREAMHOUSE, or from TOY STORY 3.
But when i saw the movie i realized Ken was the only good thing from this movie and I felt so betrayed that they made Ken the vilain.
Tumblr media
You'll find more informations about my opinion on Ken from BARBIE and why i hate this movie here, in this article
You'll find also ideas of plots about stories i could write about this character, because Ken deserves to have slaves who massages his feet and at the same time a loving boyfriend, if it's not a girlfriend 😅💕
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've also recently wrote an article about Ryan Gosling's iconic performance at the Oscars and I'm preparing a story about that 💕

TRANSFORM : into BOOTS for KING ARTHUR in the movie with CHARLIE HUNNAM
That's far from being my favorite version of Arthur Pendragon, but he is the handsomest
Tumblr media
Tranformed into his boots because I'm sure it would be very sweaty and smelly 🤣😍
Tumblr media
Or a fur coat to smell his muscled body 😍
Tumblr media
The actor Charlie Hunnam appeared in the previous game you sended me. Here :
And in this one too

Fantastic Four #176 (Thomas/Perez, Nov 1976). The fam chase the Impossible Man into Marvel HQ, extending the joke that the comics and the creators themselves exist within the Marvel universe. I guess this is technically the book’s 15th anniversary — issue 1’s got a cover date of Nov 1961…

Roy Thomas, Arnold Heck, Gary Friedrich, Archie Goodwin: Carol may be NASA chief of security, but she hates the military higher-ups' guts and will always put what she believe is right over their orders. Gerry Conway, Chris Claremont: Carol's first love is writing. She published a tell-all exposé about her experiences in NASA which pissed off the military higher-ups quite a bit. She's an hardass investigative journalist who has no problem going against the government and military. She has massive untreated PTSD from when she was in the military before that. She is an ally of the anti-government mutant rights movement and she happily hacked the Pentagon's central database to wipe out all evidence of both her and the X-Men's existence. She strongly empathizes with Mar-Vell's own rebellion against his military. David Michelinie, Kurt Busiek: Carol enjoys casually threatening to maim obstructive bureaucrats because she actively wants her identity and past to remain a secret. Brian Reed, Brian Michael Bendis: Carol tried to be the middle ground between the underground resistance and the government in the first Civil War, and even then only because the pro-Registration side was led by a friend of her. She kept angsting about her best friend Jessica Jones and her daughter (Carol's goddaughter) being in Canada due to it and she was relieved when it ended (even if it was due to the Skrulls invading). During Norman Osborn's dictatorship she was one of the most radical members of the underground resistance due to her strong anti-imperialist convictions borne out of her being tortured when she was 18 by CIA regime change agents. Christos Gage: Her House of M reality counterpart (representing her greatest wish and which she spent her entire second stint as Ms. Marvel trying to emulate because she has all her memories) was a double agent inside S.H.I.E.L.D. for the mutant rights movement and a key figure in overthrowing the right-wing anti-mutant Nixon-Trask regime. Kelly Sue DeConnick:

I feel like this interview is somehow the galaxy-brained missing key to explaining everything that’s happened to Carol since becoming Captain Marvel. (cc @chadfarsight @danzafila)

October 1978. The first appearance of the bounty hunter Valance, who has recently made a comeback in the modern STAR WARS comics. Created by Archie Goodwin and Walt Simonson, Valance is a cyborg, a former Stormtrooper officer who had been grievously wounded by a Rebel air raid and who now expresses his self-loathing through a pathological hatred of Droids and automata. (His secretiveness seems merited in these stories, which indicate that cyborgs experience a high level of mistrust and social stigma. I assume this is something Goodwin extrapolated from the "We don't serve their kind" stuff in the first movie, although the degree of prejudice and outright loathing Valance faces when people know he's a cyborg isn't really borne out by later SW media.)
Tumblr media
The next issue box is a bit misleading; THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK wasn't released until a year or so after this issue appeared. Also, the story to which the box refers (which is indeed called "The Empire Strikes!") didn't actually appear until issue #18. The issue following this one ended up being a fill-in story about Luke and Biggs prior to the events of the first movie, with art by Herb Trimpe and Al Milgrom rather than regular penciller Carmine Infantino. The delay probably had something to do with the juggling act required to produce the U.S. and UK versions of the comic — the stories that ran in the U.S. monthly color series were published more or less contemporaneously in eight-page B&W installments in the British STAR WARS WEEKLY, a logistical nightmare that necessitated the use of two distinctly different inkers and a number of fill-ins to make the math work.
