Coming out to herself as bi was a big step for Sterling. But I think her deep and desperate concern and love for April shines through esp in the debate episode when April blows up at her about walking away and leaving her on the swingset. She would change it all if she could. Take back all five years of how things played out, if she could just have April back and not so mad at her. Even if it meant no Luke, even if it meant Blair would hate her, nobody gets Sterling like April does. Nobody gets April like Sterling does. It seems to be a throw away line in episode 3 but it's also the episode title. "This must be how dumb kids feel." Sterling and April are both overachievers surrounded by underachievers. They both take pride in good spelling and correct pronunciation. They thrive on points and well-done projects. And once everything else falls away, they are honest with each other. Like intensely earnestly deeply honest. April about her dad, Sterling about her feelings. They are the person each of them needs to feel most completely themselves in a world that refuses to understand them.

the way teenage bounty hunters DESERVED a second season. like what a tightly written, quippy, funny little show with so much heart. there’s so much good going on in it but things I particularly love:
Twin themes!! There’s so much good foreshadowing surrounding the big reveal (iykyk) and there’s also so much DOUBLING. Double lives especially is a big theme. Like, Debbie hiding Dana; sterling and Blair hiding their bounty hunting; the (functional) froyo shop being bowser’s bounty hunting lair; Terrance the lone wolf bounty hunter and bowser with his little “teen white savior” teammates; Yolanda’s sister who is a perfect foil for her; miles hiding Blair from his family; sterling hiding april from Blair…and then april hiding sterling period.
And I guess the doubling is kind of showing like, here are all the possibilities and here’s what happens when we let love in and here’s what happens when we shut it out
so much good stuff about being from the American south. As someone who grew up in the south and who grew up visiting close family in Atlanta…it is cool as fuck the way the south is portrayed in all of its complexity. The show does not shy away from issues of race, religion, SES, etc SPECFICALLY in Atlanta and manages to do it in a way that doesn’t come across as heavy handed. This show could ONLY be set in the south—it would be a fundamentally different show in any other setting
Also, like I said with the doubling points above, this show is full of secrets and secret keeping!!! But yet a fundamental point of the show is that being silenced is one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. There’s a scene where Blair is telling sterling that her dad yelled at her and that the worst part of all is that he told her to Be Quiet! And like in some ways that scene highlights what a loving household Blair has grown up in that the one of the worst things her Dad has ever said to her is be quiet (not even shut up)…but it really made me be like wow being told to stop questioning and be quiet IS something terrible. It’s a denial and a violation of our right to use our voices
and like it’s not a coincidence that in the final ep Dana gags sterling. Because the way sterling is talking to her is powerful and you can tell it is making her hesitate and question her whole life
so yeah anyway watch teenage bounty hunters! Or if you haven’t in a while, it’s definitely worth a rewatch

Going through my old reblogs and seeing so many wlw ships that I forgot I liked, and I'm blaming it on all of the shows being cancelled after max 2 seasons of 12 episodes. Because I was obsessed while they were airing but was so heart broken when they stopped that my brain just erased them. And I was going into the shows knowing they were gonna get cancelled. So I couldn't even get properly invested. Simply because I just didn't have the time and the strength to do so. And now to top it off, some of them are just gone from their streaming services.

What would have been interesting to explore in season 2 was sterlings toxic tendencies in relationships. She basically pressured luke into doing it like coercing him with scripture while not really listening to his protests. And she tried to do the same with april, but april stood her ground and wouldn’t let her. if april had a personality like luke she would have come out that night because sterling wouldn’t have stopped pressing the issue. Just feel like that would have been an interesting thing to address in the second season.
I also would have liked to have seen more of the april and luke dynamic because he brought a softer side of her that I just thought was an adorable little friendship. And then they could have commiserated over sterlings toxicness. I support woman’s wrongs but the girl needs to realize that though blair might love the drama, she loves being in control and doesn’t give her partners a chance to stay no and stick with it.

The moment you learned that your boyfriend had returned, after having disappeared a year ago, you sprinted to the lair. You hadn’t even tied your shoes, your coat just hanging on by your shoulders as you ran down the street and through the cold night, running straight for Central Park, heading directly for the lair, tears pushing at the back of your eyes.
The moment you saw Leo in the lair, you pushed past whoever stood in your way and threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms tightly around him as you pulled him in for a hug. Leo’s arms found you immediately, holding you as close as possible. So close, as if his life depended on it, burying his face against your neck. Oh, how he had missed you. A whole year. And every single day, he had been thinking about you. Missing you. Hoping to see you one day again.
At this point you could not hold back your tears any longer. Your shoulders shaking as you sobbed, burying your face against his plastron. Leo could not hold his emotions back either, taking in shaky breaths as he tried to calm himself down, but to no avail. He finally had you in his arms again, a feeling so great that he could not hold back the tears, crying against your shoulder as he held you close, neither of you ever wanting to let go again.
That night you stayed in the lair, just like you used to do, before Leo and his family disappeared. It was now that Leo had the time to explain to you what had happened. Between softs hugs and kisses, along with sudden tearful outburst of emotions, Leo told you where he had been for the past year. Or when, to be exact. When he first told you that he had traveled in time, you did not believe him. You almost questioned him, wanting to know why he wouldn’t tell you the truth, but then you realized, Leo had never lied to you. Leo would never lie to you. And by the way he was holding you, and the way he was looking at you, you knew he was telling the truth. Your boyfriend and his family had been around a 100 years into the future, unable to get back, spending a year in the far future. And boy, did Leo had much to tell you about.
That evening, Donnie worked tirelessly with the help of April and Sterling, in order to get a lab up and working as fast as possible, while Mikey, Raph and Casey stood around, watching them work. While that was going on, you and Leo were tangled up in his room, staying in his bed for hours, just talking, enjoying each other’s company, and expressing strong motions.
For the first few moments, neither you or Leo spoke. Instead he laid with his face buried against the crock of your neck, his arms tightly around, as in fear that you would disappear if he let go. At times both you and him would suddenly begin sobbing, followed by the words of how much you had missed each other. Once your tears had stopped falling, you would engage in small tender kisses, followed by more silent hugging, feeling the warmth and comfort of each other’s presence.
As time went on, you and Leo would slowly loosen up. Your arms weren’t as tightly wrapped around each other as before, instead just loosely draped over each other, letting you create some space, so that you could look at each other.
With your head resting on Leo’s strong arm, you listened as he talked about the things he had experienced in the future, all while his other hand smoothed over your arm, his fingers tracing small shapes as he spoke. At one point you grabbed a soft hold of his hand, entwining your fingers, your thumb stroking the side of his knuckle. How you had missed the feeling of his hand in yours.
“Are you going to miss him?”, you asked after Leo had spoken about Cody.
“Of course I’ll miss him”, Leo said, looking down at your entwined fingers with a soft smile. “He’s a sweet kid. He learned quickly and has a very bright mind. It will be strange not being able to talk to him anymore”. Leo let go of your hand, in order to wrap his arm around you once more, pulling you close so that your face was mere inches from his. “But as much as I’m going to miss him, I’m just glad to be home”. Leo pressed a kiss to your forehead before pulling you in for another tight hug, resting head against your shoulder. “I’ve missed you so much, (Y/N). You have no idea how often I thought about you. There were times I couldn’t sleep, just thinking about you”.
“I know, Leo”, you whispered, your voice shaking as you felt your throat closing in once more as you spoke, your arms wrapping under his, holding on to his shoulder. “I’ve missed you too. Every single day, I’ve been thinking about you. But now I’m just glad that you’re back”.
And so, the rest of the night, you and Leo stayed wrapped up in each other’s arms, trying to catch up on the time spent apart. Talking about what else he and his family had been up to in the far future, along how you had managed to spend your time. But none of it could compare to the feeling of finally having your boyfriend back in your arms. After a whole year, you were finally able to be together again.
