this is gonna be SO long and rambly sorry anyway i saw a post abt how babel does queer characters and it got me thinking abt why the tropes it uses would usually turn me off other stories but didn’t here

MAJOR BABEL SPOILERS //

i feel like i’d be more mad abt how robinramy ended up in babel if it marketed itself as queer lit at all or if its fans were going “WOW AMAZING QUEER REP” abt it. but no one told me any of that, so finding out they were gay was just a fun little bonus surprise to me. i get why ppl are eh abt robinramy not getting together/technically still being subtext (which i dont think is really true btw like the book literally says “robin was falling in love” but idk i guess if you were stupid you might’ve assumed that it was falling in love with oxford given how romantic some of the other language is (WHICH IS ALSO THE POINT bc i think robin’s friendship with ramy blurring into romance is why he romanticised like all his friendships/experiences in oxford BUT IM GETTING OFF-TOPIC)). i just think robin’s repression abt being gay was intrinsically tied to his attitudes on imperialism (wrt refusing to acknowledge anything that complicated his life until it was too late) and i don’t consider it a cop out or queerbait. like i genuinely don’t think robinramy could ever have gotten together without drastic alterations being made in terms of plot and character. plus i think it’s clear that kuang didn’t want to write a story with any kind of focus on romance at all, because it’s not that kind of book. there’s no successful het romance either, so it grates a lot less. the only reason romance is included at all is to show the ways in which white entitlement manifests. so the tragic way robinramy played out just made sense to me.

and i speak as someone who accidentally spoiled myself on You Know What in the middle of reading and i was like ugghh boooo dreading it the whole time expecting to roll my eyes when it happened but then when it did i was like. wow im actually not that mad LMFAO 😭😭😭 actually thematically the book sets it up so well that i believed that this was unfortunately the only way it could’ve gone. babel is about the loss and tragedy and grief that colonised people experience. it’s about the lengths people will go to to uphold empire and the lengths ppl will go to to tear it down like idk 😭 i guess it is bury your gays but it didnt bother me this time because i thought it fit thematically ❤️ i enjoy tragedy as a genre a lot and i would’ve made it gay anyway you know. thanks rf kuang for doing it for me so i didnt have to.

WHICH IS ALL TO SAY that i guess if you’re going into babel for the queer rep without appreciating that the story is fundamentally a tragedy it would feel like it’s just reusing tired tropes….. but i think the choices kuang made were rly deliberate and not in a way that feels like trauma porn or shock value. the book is fundamentally about the struggles of poc so the layer of queerness that was introduced felt like a subtle extension of the experiences of characters of colour in the book, and i enjoyed and related to it as a queer chinese person who kind of realised they had to prioritise their fight for the liberation of poc over queerness mainly because the idea of western queer liberation cannot be dissociated from imperialism and many aspects of homophobia as we know it was an export of christian european empire into our colonised countries in the first place and FUCK THIS IS A WHOLE OTHER TANGENT ABOUT HOW I THINK RAMY AS A CHARACTER IS EMBLEMATIC OF THE TENSION AND STRUGGLE THAT QUEER POC DIASPORA HAVE BETWEEN OUR IDENTITIES GODDAMNIT OK FORGET IT POST CANCELLED i just rly think babel’s handling of queer characters is fine and makes sense and i like it personally and maybe i will make a coherent analysis about it one day but that day is not today byeeeeeee

Okay okay so i know i JUST sent that pervy hob creeping on waiter dream ask but i came up w more bc im not well.

Dream doesnt want anyone but his supervisor Lucienne to know hes Morpheus Endless bc hes 19 and everything is a catastrophic level of embarrassment at the age of 19 also hes afraid he might get picked on or hazed or something. Hes shy and most of the summer employees are his age but everyone is either nice or neutral but not mean. He gets invited to a few staff bonfires and kinda sits at the edge and keeps to himself bc hes never done this or been allowed to have friends before but its pleasant and sometimes someone will come over and make small talk to help him feel included. The Corinthian is a poolboy, he makes jokes about it constantly saying how hes trying to have as much gay sex as possible and being poolboy seemed the best bet. Hes charming and isnt weird about dream being sorta gender neutral/fluid and dream Likes him. The Corinthian saw hob slap dreams ass that first time and matthew told dream he had to physically hold the Corinthian back so he didn't go beat a guest up. Dream sits with the Corinthian on the dock and thanks him for his gallantry and the Corinthian is shy being alone w him all like "well,, i didnt do it for anything other than selfish reasons im hoping to get some nepo points when you go back home" and dream is all shook and worried now but the Corinthian laughs like "yeah you should've chose a different nickname if you didnt want to be associated with the god of SLEEP" but he doesn't tell anyone and even catches on to dreams vague rambling explanations of being Into hob which he only teases him a LITLLE for which is very generous in his opinion. Things get hot and heavy in both directions and its a proper YA summer romance love triangle. The Corinthian is kinda worried when dream texts him to come to hobs suite but hes kinda looking to get into it w this asshole anyway but when he shows up its hob who answers and dream is a blushy blissed out mess in the sheets and hob explains how dream was going to go to the Corinthian first and now hob wants to see what the Corinthian would have done to his darling now that his virginity is already taken now:) they have a really hot really psychosexual threesome and dream gets to take both of them in one night and go to bed pressed up between them❤️

I always love the idea of Hob and Cori competing over Dream, and this is a really nice way for it happen. The love triangle is so tense and sexy.

Hob is still giving all his attention to Dream - flirting, touching, teasing him all day long. But there are moments when Dream actually has to do his job for half a moment instead of just being a toy for Hob to enjoy. When Dream is off folding towels or helping in the dining room, Hob takes the opportunity to pounce on Cori.

And Cori doesn't just accept it like Dream does. He calls Hob a dirty old man, threatens to report him, even holds the knife he was using to slice fruit to Hob’s throat at one point. Mostly its because he doesn't want to steal Dream’s man when he knows there's feelings there. But also, he's really enjoying the thrill of the chase.

So when he's invited to Hob’s suite, it's fair to say that the sexual tension is heavy. Cori pretends to be all focused on Dream (and he is!! Absolutely thrilled to get between Dream’s legs finally) but he's glancing at Hob the whole time, daring him to do something. Hob is only too happy to oblige.

Cori finally gets to fuck Dream (having Hob’s sloppy seconds is more of turn on than he'll ever admit). All while Hob tongue-fucks Cori's hole. Cori has never been rimmed like that before and he has to admit that Hob is talented. He barely lasts any time before coming inside Dream, but he can't even begin to care. I watched the the last two episodes of Hazbin Hotel

HOLY FUCKING SHIT OMFG I JUST WANTED TO EXPRESS MY THOUGHTS ON IT AND RAMBLE SO HERE

!!!VERY DETAILED SPOILERS!!!

Episode 7:

almost immediately I was happy to see Charlie get angry and frustrated even if it was just for that little rant about everything that’s happened so far and then choosing to make a deal with Alastor was insane I’m already theorizing all the ways he could ask for a favor that would still be pretty bad even if it doesn’t involve hurting anyone.

when we get to meet Rosie for the first time I kinda expected her to me more malicious and kinda blood thirsty but she ended up actually being a very sweet person who was very genuine and I loved that about her, she gave Charlie some very good advice about Vaggie that I really appreciate bc I though the same thing, also wasn’t expecting her to have the voice she did but I loved it anyway. (FUCKING SUSAN) the way both Alastor and Rosie just behaved like besties in this was way too funny Alastor cursing was way funnier tho and the fact that all it took was just to say hey there’s gonna be free food and it’s angels flesh was so stupidly simple.

I loved that they gave Carmilla another song she was absolutely beautiful and badass like bro HER HAIR DOWN GOT ME BARKING NOT GONNA LIE, she’s a very strong woman who is smart, resilient, and loves her daughters, also I’m biased bc she’s Latina and I’m latina so obviously she’s the best. The fact that Vaggie being an Angel was so obvious is hilarious to me I always thought the X on her eye was some type of aesthetic eyepatch not like an actual thing angels get when they lose and eye??? Still not sure about that but whatever, I loved the realization that yeah Vaggie fights with no real concern about her own life because she’s never had to fear for her own safety before, she wasn’t even aware she could die so the fact that Carmilla is like girl you fight like you aren’t scared of getting hurt which is stupid on your part is both funny and like wow yeah she’s so right that is a dumb way to go about it. Since usually demons can’t cause any type of real harm angels have never had to worry about death so they go about killing every extermination day completely recklessly so it keeps them open to weak points, they didn’t even think about their own weapons they left behind being used against them so yeah, the song was an absolute bop (like girl find the motivation to fight in the fact that you have someone to lose).

I love that the others stayed obviously they would but it’s nice to see everyone trying to help in any way they can despite the circumstances, they all enjoy each other’s company and it was so nice to see how far everyone has come.

Episode 8:

I’m kinda confused as into how Vox managed to get cameras? technology?? Into the hotel but whatever his reactions are funny. Almost immediately I was trying to figure out who was gonna die this final episode and when I saw dear ol Pentious in his little uniform I kinda knew and I was pre sobbing getting ready for the emotional damage I was gonna get (which side note I absolutely love his hair?? When it’s down I mean I’m a sucker for long black hair??? So yeah) anyway the whole thing with him and Cherri is so cute he’s such a dork. I like the scene with nifty and Alastor cause honestly I fully believe he doesn’t own her soul she’s just so outta pocket that he finds her amusing and her presence entertaining and he genuinely enjoys it so she gets to stick around, DID YALL SEE THE FUCK ME EYES HUSK GAVE ANGEL AT THE BAR DONT TELL ME YOU DIDNT AND THE WAY ANGEL LOOKED AT HIM WHEN HE WAKLED OFF YOOOOOOOO I CANTTTTT, and then Pentious being so awkward with Cherri is so cute my man was STRUGGLING tryna confess his love for her, he did say some really sweet things tho that she was kinda getting into it before he ran off plus Angel being like hey he got two dicks and she’s like huh 🤔 (like GIRL GET SOME OF THAT OR ELSE I WILL ).

They really did us dirty with having Charlie so obviously in front of angels door crying and shit before the episodes came out that shit had me sweating. So Adam, I’m not gonna like he kinda….👀 but only because he’s voiced by THE Alex Brightman like c’mon be so serious he did that character so good I can’t even, also I was kinda wondering why all the exorcists are all women like is that just because Adam prefers it or what? But anyway the fact that Vox got the other two V’s together so they can all watch this shit go down is so funny bc they couldn’t care less. It was so fun seeing what Alastor had in store bc I find him so fascinating as a character he has all these interesting powers that he doesn’t really get to use too often since he never has a reason to kinda go all out and have fun killing people so it was fun seeing that. Bro when Adam punched the dome that was wild I was like wow that was kinda cool I’m not gonna lie and the fight with Alastor was insane the animation was amazing it was so fun seeing Al just dodging his attacks with such grace like go off king tell him he’s a bitch 😌💅, when his microphone got sliced in half his reaction was absolutely priceless holy shit I rewatched that shit like 5 times bc I couldn’t get over him cursing like it was so quick but it did the job so well, hearing his actual voice outside of his normal Radio-ish way of sounding was really something it made it feel more alive I guess. Vox’s reactions was so funny he really is a bitter ex that just wants the worst for him I love it (NO! FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOUUUUU, PUSSY!!) I love him.

When Vaggie said something had to be done about Adam and Pentious was watching I just knew, AND MY MAN JUST REALLY RIZZED CHERRI LIKE THAT BROO HE DIPPED HER AND EVERYTHING OMGGGGGG like I agree with her that WAS hot. I WAS SO PISSED THAT HE DIED FOR NOTHING LIKE BRO I KNEW HE WAS GONNA DIE A JOKE DEATH I JUST KNEW IT, they couldn’t even give bro the honor of dying in a way that would make us cry cause when he went out like that I just knew he was gonna probably end up in heaven to make up for how lame that was. Having Charlie call Adam a pig was so fun like yeas girl tell him, I kinda didn’t agree with Vaggie deciding to allow Lute to live cause girl that’s a loose end I would not wanna deal with later bc she has no mercy (she literally ripped off her own arm to chase after her bro) she would not hesitate to kill, like yeah I get the whole I’m better than you so yeah live with the fact the only reason you breathe is because I let you but girl be so for real she is a nuisance that will come back to bite you in the ass later I know it.

The fact that I didn’t even think about the fact that Adam was wearing a mask this whole time is so stupid of me but when I did see that I was thinking of all the ways he could’ve looked like and to say I was disappointed is an understatement, my disappointment got worse when I saw his pathetic little goatee 😑I’ve seen way better fanart, Lucifer coming in with the save 😮‍💨 not him saying he was gonna fuck Adam the silence was so loud (the only time the other two V’s found it interesting too)😂😂. lucifer is such an airhead twink I love him; Not only is he effortlessly flying circles around Adam and having fun while doing it he’s insulting him too, THE EVE COMMENT WAS SO OUTTA POCKET BRO LIKE WHAT WHEN DID EVE TAP THAT (lucky bitch) I was wondering where she was and apparently it was in his bed (that shit made me snort he has hella rizz) cause not only did he take Adam’s first wife he took the second one too bro, it was pretty cool seeing his more demon form his horns where hella cool and the fact that the entire time Lucy was like unserious about his whole interaction with Adam’s is crazy because I feel like it shows how powerful he really is, after all he is still a seraphim. I appreciate that despite everything Charlie still keeps her compassion and keeps her dad from killing him cause that could not be me girl plus nifty coming in with the last stab is hilarious he really got killed by her of all people that is sad, from what I could count I think she stabbed him 15 times maybe? Which like damm that’s crazy he stood no chance I’m kind of wondering if lute and him had something going one too bc her reaction was definitely not just some soldier who worshipped him it felt more personal and with the whole (sir SIR ADAM!!) plus the dopey ass smile he gave her wich Im ignoring the fact that it might’ve been due to the rapid amount of blood exiting his body and the multiple stab wounds and the fact he was, you know….dying was very loving in a way that just makes you think if there was more to them.

(Quick shout out to the fact that I’m watching the last episode for the second time and I just noticed what I think is Angeldust’s brother and Baxter watching the news)

I’m curious what deal Alastor made that is making him want so desperately to get out bc he definitely was close to a nervous breakdown there (husk was so disappointed Al didn’t die in the war). I was so thankful Pentious actually went to heaven bro I was starting to worry I’m not gonna lie 😀, his design is pretty cute i find it funny he ended up right in front of Sarah and Emily bc you’d expect him to be at the gates but no, it was like a big fuck you to Sarah about redemption which I love how they both reacted to that (love Emily).

Now Lilith, the fact that she is so obviously in heaven is insane like girl you have been gone for SEVEN years with absolutely zero contact with anyone and at first I was like where can she even go in hell that would keep her away for so long and then boom she’s on a nice beach somewhere up above like what the hell. Apparently her and Adam made a deal which my theory is that way before it was made official in order for for the exterminator to happen permanently which I’m guessing was Adam’s idea him and Lilith agreed that if she sang just enough to get his idea accepted by Sarah she would get to stay and chill in heaven maybe? It could be deeper than that but it’s crazy that all this time when her daughter needed her most she was just enjoying life upstairs, maybe she really is the evil mastermind behind it all.

(Something I just thought about, did Lucifer cheat on Lilith with Eve??? Cause like when he said he stole botu of Adam’s wives he was with Lilith so does that explain why they aren’t together or maybe had a falling out a long time ago, or would explain his depression and sense of guilt despite it being so long ago kind of)

PAIRING - Daniel Larusso x Reader

SUMMARY: Waking up in Daniel’s arms is quite alarming, even on your first day of meeting each other. But the only thing even more alarming than that scenario are the bruises and cuts that litter his face.

When you woke up, the first thing that you could feel was the tapping of a finger against your plush thigh.

The action was small and once your eyes fluttered open, the first thing that came into your vision was Daniel's smooth and soft face smiling at you with a sleepy but happy smile, a smile that scrunched his nose and turned his eyes into the shape of little crescent moons.

Your body sluggishly started to get up and your hands reached to rub the sleep out of your eyes.

"Daniel...where are we." your words were lazily slowly streaming out of your mouth. To be honest, you didn't truly care where you were, you knew that with Daniel you most likely would have been safe. But the only thing you could truly focus on right now was the ache of your legs and the punctuating strain that was very much prominent in your neck.

You twisted your neck side to side hoping it would relieve the tension. Both of your hands were still resting on Daniel's back and as your mind started to clear, you looked around and realized you two were both back at the entrance of the apartment complex.

You turned back to meet Daniel in the eye and he was still giving you that terribly cute sleepy smile.

Did you fall asleep on your way here? You must've had to there was no other possible explanation.

Oh gosh...you hope you didnt drool on Daniel and now he thinks you're a weird freak who enjoys canoodling inappropriately on peoples backs!

"Daniel, I um, I'm so sorry that I slept on the way here. I totally forgot that you still needed directions to the apartment and it was inappropriate me to lay myself on your back like that. I uh, I know your personal space must have been disrupted and-"

His comforting words cut off your ramble with his own and he now turned so that his stomach was now facing you. His hands were now cupping your elbows, just as the first time you two had met, and his eyes held a tired but sympathetic warmth in them. His charming grin was now replaced with a small lipped smile.

"Hey hey hey, don't sweat it, it's alright. And- I let you sleep on me on purpose because on the bike ride coming back, I knew how tired you were and I didn't want to wake you. Besides, I'm a big boy. Sooner or later I'm gonna have to figure my way around this city anyways"

he playfully rolled his eyes and he held that charming grin again. The words that were coming out of his mouth were like a soft warm blanket on a cold night, a warm soup on a rainy day. Of course he would understand, why did you expect any less from him?

You must've dazed off from paying so close attention to every little detail of his gaze that you once you started to come too, his hands were now pulling you up from the bike by your wrists and you two were now heading upstairs to apartment 15-your apartment.

Once you two arrived at your door, you noticed that he was still holding your wrist with his warm hand, he turned to face you and suddenly, you remembered all about needing to patch him up.

"Oh...Daniel come inside. I still want to treat that erm, black eye of yours..."

He let go of your wrist and you put your focus onto quickly unlocking your door as fast as you could. You still were unaware about how Daniel felt about coming inside your home and you didn't want to scare him away so quickly right now, not when he was so close to entering your apartment.

"Y/n it's kinda late don't you think... I don't um, I don't wamna bother you. I saw how tired you were just a few minutes ago and I think it's best if you get to bed..."

Oh no, he wanted to leave and you knew it. But you didn't really care what he wanted right now because right now, it was best if you just took him inside and got him fixed up.

You made a small exasperated noise. "No no Daniel it's fine, really. Let me just put some treatment on those cuts of yours and you'll be out of here in no time. I promise!"

He made a small sigh and gave you a small pat on your back, as to not want to worry you any further.

Once you unlocked your door, you quickly, but very quietly, led him inside.

As you tried to silently close your door in an attempt to not wake your parents, Daniel stood there waiting for you; looking around and observing your house with his eyes.

You took his wrist and you placed your pointer finger on your mouth, giving him a signal to be quiet. He nodded his head in agreement and you both started making your way around the apartment to your room.

You didn't realize how intimate it was being in your room , your room where you expressed your thoughts, your room where you cried and laughed and slept. You started to feel a little self conscious. What if he thought you two were moving too fast? Maybe he thinks this is insane and wants to bolt right out of here?

Trying desperately to ignore your overbearing worrisome thoughts, you made a silent command to Daniel to sit on your bed.

Of course, he sat there. And the sight was quite funny. He looked like a bull in a China shop, a zebra in a tropical island.

Comfortably there but comfortably out of place.

His shoulders were uncomfortably tight and as if he was trying to avoid eye contact, he kept glancing around, looking over and observing your room.

You sneakily made your way to your bathroom and quickly gathered all your supplies you needed; band aids, ointments, and creams you would all apply on Daniel's poor bruised and scratched up face.

"Are you real sure you need all that? Please y/n, I really don't wanna bother you" Daniel's tone was a bit sluggish, he must've been as tired as you were right now.

"Please Daniel let me do this. You're already here so there's no point in leaving now."

You didn't want to come off as too commanding but right now, you were too tired to argue with him so honestly, it didn't really matter what your voice sounded like.

He sat there silently as you stared to apply an ointment on his cuts. Occasionally, he would wince in pain of pinch his thigh when he felt as of the pain was too overbearing.

Finally, it came to the big part. The huge purple black eye covering most of his right eye.

"Daniel, I'm going to put some cream on it then cover it with a bandage. This is gonna hurt so please, try your best to not move around too much." You pleaded with an almost worried tone.

He gave an almost exasperated mumble under his breath. "Yes Ms Doctor.Y/n" he almost cutely putted out of his lips then turned his focus to an aimless area in your room.

As you started applying the cream and ointment, he would huss and whine in pain. Sometimes, he would even swiftly grab your wrist when the pain felt too much.

His eyes were squeezed shut and his mouth was in a tight, lipped line. "Where did you um-argh-where did you learn to do this-ow."

You tried to hold off your laughter from the silly noises he was making. "I learned it from my family friend, Mr. Miyagi. He lives in the apartment complex here but one day I came up the stairs, leaping with a scratched up knee and he saw me and put this foamy liquid on it. I asked him how he managed to do it and he showed me all of his medical miracles." You mumbled the last part of your words, you didn't want to seem like a mumbler. And you felt as if you didn't need to tell him a lot about Mr.Miyagi anyways because he was probably going to one way or another meet him.

As you finished applying the ointment, you started covering the huge bruise with a large cotton bandage.

"His medical miracles huh? I guess maybe next time Johnny and his entourage come back and kick my ass again, I should just come back running to you." His right eye was squinting from the large bandage you were still applying and he was holding that cheeky grin again.

You made an almost playfully annoyed face. "Well maybe there won't be a next time if you stop interfering with Johnny and his said "entourage". Your face was showing signs of teasing but your words held hints of malice in them.

It was true, Daniel wouldn't be here, sitting on your bed, being aided by you in the middle of the night. And you wouldn't be here, standing in front of Daniel playing doctor if he just avoided Johnny and Ali's situation. He shouldn't have been trying to play Ali's knight and shining armor, her savior while Johnny was around.

But you guessed it truly didn't matter. It was stupid of him to jump in like that but it showed his immense courage and his need to help others. That was the only part of him you enjoyed during that whole fiasco.

He bubbled out a sigh and as you finally finished the last piece of bandage, he slowly got up, almost as if he was an old man, and stabilized himself by propping himself up with his hands behind his back.

He gave you a warm smile and his eyes were back to looking tired again. "Thank you y/n. I know I already told you this but I'm glad you're my friend. I know it's cliche but... it's fine." His grin was now slightly lopsided, but yours must've been too. You were both feeling the effects of lack of sleep.

Before your body could even dwell into a state of peace and serenity, a sudden thought that the next following day would officially be the day when Summer break ended and school started.

You weren't quite sure if you felt pleased about the new school year. Angry, heartbroken, or anxious. Maybe all of the above was what you were feeling right now. But the only thing you knew for sure was that there was this small feeling inside your chest silently hoping that Daniel Larusso would be able to accompany you in this long, long school year.

agreed 100% and its why im so confused when people dont think it made sense or that lisa just suddenly started pushing her anti monarchy agenda (which is a whole other thing people say that i have thoughts on but nowhere to talk about it) but that was so clear to me from the start of the show and i don't understand how people find anything inconsistent? I mean people can think what they want ofcourse but yeah i just think as you mentioned it is shown from the start that Wilhelm does not want this (so im not sure why there seem to be people thinking that he made the decision for simon and didnt actually want to leave the monarchy before that).

But yes I’m right there with you. I always felt like the show itself was anti-monarchist. Wille has always hated it, from the moment he is told he’s going to Hillerska, from how uncomfortable he seems in the interview, from how much he hates the welcoming he gets at Hillerska… It was very clear to me from the beginning that Wille doesn’t like it. That’s a bit why he was so interested in Simon at first too, no? Because Simon shared some of the same views Wille did? I don’t think Simon would have caught Wille’s eyes so much if they hadn’t shared this views. Sure Simon is attractive and a good singer and all of that. But we see how easily Wille dismisses people (like Henry and Walter, Felice at first too) when they just try to please Prince Wilhelm. Wille is instantly into Simon, no matter in what way, because Simon doesn’t give a shit about royalty.

They’ve actually also never given me one reason to like the monarchy. Just in s1 from how they handled grief over Erik and the video… I never ever liked or rooted for the monarchy. But I liked and rooted for Wille.

So like you, I’m very confused when people think it comes out of no where. On the other hand, I really wanted Wille to step down so. Maybe that helps me see why Lisa went to town with this storyline this season.

Im really, really glad they added the line about it being a choice Wille makes for himself! I know he does, but it’s great that they clearly stated that. Imo, Wille couldn’t have made a better choice at this point in time.

wish there were more Enid centric creators just because I have all these hcs of Enid & I really do love her character. So the game is called Onaplus, and lemme just post my TL of its official Booth description for you before i try summing it up myself:

Play Time: About 5 hours Routes: 2 Endings: 4~5 Stills: None This is a visual novel game where you can - or can not - enjoy a "Psuedo-Romance" with various versions of Leonard from before he formed his pact, DOD1, DOD2, and LoV. The game is mostly linear; only a few choices on your path outside of the 4~5 different endings. You are the protagonist, a woman who travels through four different "Times" with Seere at your side. You can enjoy the story as it's nature changes between two vastly different routes; choose to spend a sweet and heartfelt time with Leonard, or take part in a good measure of slapstick comedy instead. Includes a number headcanoned details, otakuisms, and out-of-character gags. A game for those who believe no man is beyond forgiveness...

That's pretty much it!! I dunno how much I'll spoil by saying it, but it was NOT KIDDING when it said the main two routes (The more serious N-Route, standing for "Not Shotacon Route" and the gag S-Route, standing for "Shotacon Jerking Off in the Backwoods Route") were different.

I'll keep what I know limited, but I've completely finished the S-Route (much to my dismay, IT WAS SO GOOODDDD I DIDNT WANT IT TO END) and have JUST started the N-Route, so I'm looking forward to what's in store!! I dunno what the "5" stands for though in five endings, unless the N-Route has one I'm unaware of... 👀 but a quick breakdown

Where the N-Route is a very genuine, heartfelt ""Love letter"" to Leonard from his fans being like "We care about you!!! youre such a lovable guy!!!! please take care of yourself!!!!" and essentially plays as an "I can fix him" game, the gag "S-Route" ramps Leonard's "Shotaconness" up to an ABSURD degree to the point one or two scenes were complete "had me completely red in the face, unable to look at the screen"-level wreckage. one scene in particular around the DOD2 mark also made my heart DROP but im not saying what happened or what it is :)))) S-Route Ending A was also extremely difficult to TL because i had to search a few things up and do........ research............ to find suitable english-audience alternatives. it had me GAGGED ngl, but i would never do it again........... i'm turning red just thinking about it now dsjfhkshvwkslahsdfhj (the endings are so good though, and there was ANOTHER thing in Ending A that had me "!!!!!!! yippee!!!!!!" but that's another story.)

I've only finished the endings of the S-Route right now, but some of them were surprisingly (And welcomingly so!) heartfelt for what was 96% a gag route :0!

AND THEN THE PROTAGONISTSSSSSS okay so i was NOT expecting a little "heehee, we made leonard psuedo-dating sim" VN TO HAVE PROTAGONISTS THAT ARE LITERALLY LIKE A HYPERFIXATION FOR ME RIGHT NOW????? trust me when i say these are NOT typical "blank-slate-self-insert" protags their characterisation is so strong and entertaining i was HEARTBROKEN finishing the s-route because it meant saying goodbye to its protagonist more than anything, i literally have made ship fanart of them together i ADORE them so much and i need them in my life...... lately ive thinking about hdcing names for them i love them....

N-MC is so SWEEEEEEEETTT she's a lot more "Expectable" for a "Romantic" visual novel (At least for now... who knows, she might be hiding a dark secret of some kind though im like... more than half sure she's innocent? RIGHT????) and is just a little sweetheart whose dedicated her life to helping others as her parents always wished!!!! she has a ✨tragic anime backstory✨ and for leonard fans is THE embodiment of looking at this sad sack of shit and being like "Oh my god, he's so miserable, i just want him to be happy :((( i can fix him......." her relationship with seere is so SWEETTTT too it makes me melt, she's the one he NEEDS and im just aakshskhsdkvhsdkfh...... though honestly even if its 9/10 unintentional listening to the way she talks about seere sometimes has me like "hmmMMMMMM..... perhaps youre more of a shotacon than s-mc........" ("ara ara, seere-kun~" has become my new tagline for her, i admit..... you seem a bit too taken with him buddy...)

BUT THEN S-MC, I ADORE HERRRRRRRR me and a bud have been playing it together and their design for her has become like the unofficial one i literally use/WILL use no other for my own doodles and that is a FACT. how do i explain her... the game calls her "Caim-like", basically, but that's not enough. you see, S-MC is an over-exploited, sleep-deprived, brash, violent, porn-addicted shotacon (+possible femcel) otaku who's main goal in life is to find a decent person to get married to and whose only reason for living is to keep indulging in her PG (and not PG) fiction. she's more than eager to beat the shit out of anyone at the first opportunity (which she does) and wax poetic about her favourite games (which she does) and UNLIKE """N-MC oneesan""" and their (Unintentional) far-too-friendly comments towards seere S-MC spends makes it her GOAL to ensure nothing happens to the kid despite her annoyance with him, who is far too innocent for his own good dsfkvjhsfdkhvsdfj

The VN is written by the very talented Pixiv fanfic writer Kyon, whose works I would VERY much recommend checking out if you can read Japanese and are a fan of Leonard (They are my GO-TO for Leonard content, just talking with them was such an honour i was like "uUUWAUAaaaAUUGHhhHHhgaaghgH" they do his characterisation so good and they understand the tragedy and facets of what makes him compelling so well and im just UGHHHHHHH THEYRE SO GOOD ANON YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS WITH THEM WRITING THIS, CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!!!)

Interestingly enough, they did write a whole fucking novel on Leonard's past and life leading up Ending D and do reference part of that in this VN!! Albeit not heavily, though reading the preview on Pixiv I saw it was like "AYYYYYE" so I would recommend it if you can read it ;0 i hope to buy the full thing soon....

Also, I was actually skeptical of this going into it but Kyon is SO good with their writing they did write a Faerie x Leonard Modern AU smut fic I'm now also hoping to get the full version of well... do you know how good something has to be for me not ONLY to spend money on it, but to go from SKEPTICAL "this isn't my thing and i dunno why i'm even reading it" to "I need to read the rest of this NOW GET HIS ASS" i truly marvel at their talent and im so happy at the chance to work with them im.............

The illustrations were done by the also VERY popular Suiden, who you might recognise if you spend any time on Leonard's Pixiv tag in general!!! I admit, I kind of expected more as far as the quality of their contributions to the VN were concerned, but honestly, the character sprites are so charming in their own little VN way (Leonard's DOD2 sprite i ADORE) and i was so excited to see both recognisable artists i adore in there, I don't really have any major complaints so far outside the fact i sincerely wish there was a 1.3 leonard....... ONAPLUS 2 LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN‼️💥👏👏

Oh, and I also learned a LOT about LoV and its system through this game (and how much injustice they did leonard in the sequel, jesus fuck...) which was apparently all thanks to Haruoka's help advising everyone on the LoV bits (Though whether that stands for just gameplay or actual lore, i have no idea.... yet)!! You may also recognise some of the nice Leonard art they have on their Pixiv if you've dug through the tag as deep as I have lmao

... Anyways, that SHOULD be enough rambling from me!! If you have anymore questions, do lemme know because this VN is my LIFE right now all I can ever think about is playing it and I'm literally going to be so sad when it's time to put it up......

If you think you'd like to check it out for yourself, please do check out the trial version!! You can get it free on Kyon's Booth and I think you SHOULD be able to just G-Translate your way through the N-Route with minimal confusion just based off of how clear I remember it, and the S-Route should be roughly understandable as well but uses a LOT more slang and "catechisms" with its spelling than N-Route, so you might have a couple more difficulties translating it if you use a machine.

The full version is a psychical disc copy that sells for 500 JPY (3.24 USD/3.05 EUR, i believe) and you CAN buy it through a proxy site like Buyee like I did!! Ofc that will include packing and shipping costs, so you might actually expect it to come up to around 20 USD as it did for me :,) perhaps the real pain though comes in how long you have to wait for it to actually arrive (just under a month for me)

But if you're a Leonard fan? Speaking as the self-proclaimed head of the church of ona, it is so worth it. ive never been so utterly enamoured and in love with a game, its kinda starting to concern me...

along with my kin mems I'll also explain to uu how i got them (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

( as Hatsune Miku, in a timeline where i was a robot idol )

if uu didnt know: in fictionkin terminology, timeline refers to the past life uu had as that character basically. the word canon can also be used

once, i escaped the studio-compound-apartment where i "lived" (technically it's the location where i was stored by the company that made me) to go on an unauthorized road trip with the other robot idols (vocaloids). i have a LOT of memories about this little event. the first thing i remembered was that i simply snuck out and went on a road trip with kagamine rin and Len. what sparked me to remember this event was seeing this fanart here:

it's quite common for kin mems to be sparked by seeing anything related to the character's media, such as fanart.

when i saw this fanart, one could say i felt a strong impression that we went on a road trip, and we were sitting in a car together just like the fanart. at the time i didn't have any sensory memories to go off of, i just innately knew that it happened. (having a lot of mems that are things uu only innately know are fine too! detailed sensory memories aren't necessary to be a valid kin)

eventually i got another memory, can't remember how, and it was mostly visual. (naturally) it looks like a hazy blur when i think about it, but i know what was happening in that memory anyway: it was nighttime and we were at the beach. rin was holding sparklers. there were many of us robot idols there enjoying our night of freedom. i reflected upon the memory further, wrote about it, shared it with some people, and upon further reflection i was able to make it clearer. i got an auditory memory of Rin's laugh and the sound of the sparklers (i also remembered how rin chased me around the beach lol)

last memory I'll discuss: last year i went on a vacation with my family to go swimming somewhere. being in the car with them and the chaos of the trip gave me an impression that robot idols' road trip was also chaotic. after getting that impression i recalled more memories that matched the impression i got (as in, i got memories that were also chaotic)

I'll ramble a bit more about kin memories and my experience with them

i get kin mems through a lot of ways. interacting with content related to the media, like what i mentioned earlier, is one way. there's also listening to music that reminds me of the kin or my past life as the kin (so basically like character playlists lmao) i heard meditation helps people too but I'm trash at meditation so i only tried it like 2 times and it never rlly did anything > <

sometimes mems come to me when I'm not expecting it either. maybe something happens throughout my day, or i just see something, and i recall a kin memory that's similar to what i saw. it's like my brain was "reminded" of the mem

one example of this is when i was outside and i looked up, and the sky was so blue and beautiful, it was a nice day outside, and i remembered playing outside with my friends as sunny omori ^_^

not all memories that one gets will be pleasant. i myself have a few negative memories. if one is distressed by their negative mems, it's absolutely okay, but one must understand that it isn't their life anymore and they have a choice to not dwell on their past life, past mistakes, etc. who they were in a past life does not define them anymore. i used to be very very affected by my negative memories, I'd just be in a slump for multiple days and i won't stop thinking about the mems, but I'm no longer affected by them

so yeah... i hope all of that made sense ahahahahhaa i am not crazy i swear

Hi, hello, it me, yeah I’m back. Before I get started talking about what I drop in for I just wanted to say, I absolutely love your art😍 every day I look forward to seeing your posts. You have change my POV on oc x cannon with Daggie. They are just so cute and silly I want to put them in a pancake. But anyways, your art has inspired me to make many twst oc of my own(and by many I mean 2 maybe three idk yet) but I only have a design for one of them

This is Grayson, he my baby and I love him. I’ve only drawn him a couple of times but idk where I put them 🤷🏻 whoops-

From this picture(it’s like two months old) his design has changed a bit. But still somewhat like that.

but what I came here to talk about is the super silly friendship he has with some characters👏

just to be clear these friendships I’m going to write out are still under development, lots of things are gonna change as I finalize his character!

Okay, to start off,

-Ruggie: they are like best friends, since they are in the same class they’ll study and work together. Grayson likes to randomly visit Savanaclaw and bring snacks and donuts and just food in general. I see them teasing the first years a lot(it’s a normal thing) and overall having a very wholesome bond.

-Floyd: somewhat the same with Ruggie but a bit more silly. Grayson and Floyd have been friends since childhood. They grew up in the same area and went to the same schools. But Grayson being a new addition to the group (Floyd, Jade, and azul) he was a bit overwhelming for them, except Floyd, they matched each others energy. If one of them did something bad so did the other.

-Epel: Epel is Grayson’s favorite first year and he makes that very clear to the others. So clear that Adeuce gets jealous. But Grayson took a liking to epel, 1) because Grayson likes small colorful things, and 2) Epel told him that he was having a had time fitting in, epel didnt really know how to act proper, or wear fancy clothes. But Grayson didn’t know so well either but having 4 sisters he had a few tricks he knew so he offered to help. And thus they became friends👏👏

okay last one

-Kailm: They are an equation for disaster. When Kailm is planing a party, Oh well, Grayson gonna make him take it a step further. “Hey Grayson what do ya think ‘bout the balloons?!”

“Hm, how about you take that ballon arch over there, get more of it, and line it all up along the path. Oh and we need some pyro effects!”

yeah that’s how it goes and them Jamil has to child lock EVERYTHING from both of them.

but anyways, Grayson still has some construction that needs to be finished. But yeah, he’s not my oc x cannon oc I’m still figuring that one out. But I hope you enjoyed listening to me ramble about my child. I will see you in the comments of your posts 🫡

this was my first bf audio in a month, so it was an easy audio to hop into, especially since its the start of a new series. the vibe of it is also pretty chill and lovey (at least for the first two audios). here today definitely had a weird vibe, at least to me. idk if it was because it was focused more on sarah janes impact on rani or what, but it just seemed off (it reminded me of her eighth of march audio). also i am very aro and this episode was very romance centered so that could also attest to my mixed feelings of it.

on a realer note, i really enjoyed their dynamic, and rani’s un(requited) feelings about clyde and their slow shift from friends to friends-who-like-each-other-but-dont-know-if-the-other-reciprocates-so-they-try-to-hide-their-feelings-but-fail-miserably

destination wedding was my favorite out of the three. i liked how the addition of gita helped balance out the more serious moments with rani. her inner turmoil was so fun to listen to, as she talked with tiff about her own missed opportunities and how she would live life differently.

the witching tree had an interesting (and dark) concept that tugged me in. the end all kinda blurred for me, but that also could have been bc i was listening to it in public and wasn’t paying the most attention lol. rani and clyde continued to serve this episode and them constantly having each others backs no matter what made my heart happy (guys they need each other)

im interested in how the next boxset will continue, as we have Luke (!!) and Miss Wormwood back. I also want to see how many boxsets it will take before they make clani canon, bc i know bf and this shit could drag out for years

overall, pretty good boxset. i kinda wish it was more adult (like concepts grew with the characters) and a bit less “oh sarah jane this and sarah jane that” but it was nice to hear clyde and rani again

random thoughts about gravity falls fics i wanted to write down before i forgot and since im writing them down i might as well post them too. please enjoy and/or hate my ramble-y brain thoughts

warnings here: theres a bit of talk about self-destruction and issues with eating. both are about characters. well, one character. i put them at the end, so its easier to scroll past or block without seeing them

so ive noticed that all my favorite types of fics are- idk, a bit harder to find then a lot of other types of fics?

so of course youve got fics where they make the characters into creatures, which we love. much easier to find then the other ones here, but still something to get excited about whenever we find one.

'well what about monster falls? theres gotta be plenty of fics for that'

not that many with ford, and most with ford include billdip, so youve only got a few fics that arent. gross. monster falls is overrun with billdip, fun fact. blegh

oftentimes stan is made into a creature, but not ford. which is fine, of course, theyre still very fun to read most of the time. fics about ford getting creature'd are more rare but tend to include different creatures than stan, which is interesting. ive found exactly one fic where both of them get creature'd and its one of my favorites.

anyway. fics where stan meets bord are always fun. the interactions are always fun. love that shit. its much more common to see with mullet stan and paranoid ford, which makes sense. ive come across exactly one fic where post-portal ford gets possessed by bill and uhhhhhh?? hm. hm.

of course its understandable why theres less with post-portal ford. hes got that plate in his head and its not exactly good for his health to remove it. but it does make for some real good angst if bords walking around with a head cracked open and now stan has to figure what the fuck thats all about. good shit, good shit.

and then- well. it makes a lot of sense why you dont see as many of these- fics that deal with ford and his problems with eating. theres a lot of fics that make note of it, but not many where its the focus. the two that i know that do that both deal with him recovering from it, which is really just the best way to end a fic like that. also both favorites theyre really good.

the last one- fics that explicitly deal with ford and his self-destructive behaviors. seems to me a lot of people didnt really. notice? that hes self-destructive? a lot of people include stan's mental health issues but dont do anything with ford's. there are of course some fics like this and there are fics that vaguely hint towards it, but. the guy didnt just light his face on fire, he exploded something on it. hes not exactly subtle about it. he probably gets intrusive thoughts about it, too. you never see that in fics
