i was going to draw sayaka and byakuya on the vamp au but realized that i also have to design their clothes and thats a lot of work for a shitpost related to a ship i dont even like
#as i said though; theres hilarity in the concept of byakuya having an unrequited crush on makoto; both on canon and this au#and while he doesnt have a crush still has weird feelings whenever makoto calls him 'my beloved prince' bc its just so genuine#makoto will never lie to him or want to have more power by pleasing him. he does that bc he does appreciate and respects byakuya#and hes not used to that at all. even his marriage with sayaka was an arranged one so theres not much love on there#(i mean; theyre both alright with the marriage and are physically attracted to one another. but you know; they didnt got a choice)#(and also byaku is still in love with kyoko and wants her and her only; but being a human prince of course he had to marry a human princess#(and kyoko doesnt love him back anyway; shes still in love with her wife celestia even after her death so lol)#but going back to the point; makoto is genuine with him. and he finds that weird and confusing.#which leads to him appreciating and enjoying when hes around; even if he would rather being dead or kill him before admitting that lel#however that makes him being sure hes also very very in love with his wife mukuro. and he cannot kill her even if he wanted to#(he doesnt; but sometimes gets a little jealous when makoto focuses too much on her when hes around)#bc mukuro is the best vampire hunter and thats not convenient for his princedom#anyway i think i will have to spend more time designing sayaka bc im going to a similar vibe to his canon outfit for this au.#it is already very prince-like. i will have to design them eventually anyway so yeah#here we go#au talk#bc i ended up rambling a bit about that au dsjfndjnfdsj#lilith whispers

Makoto Kagutsuchi Ideas
AAARGH. I finished watching Rain Code like a few days ago, and I'm still not over Makoto Kagutsuchi. He was like this absolute silly boy and then chapter 5 was like OMG. And then he became my top 1. Then, I went to fanfics, and then started writing a bit of my own although it's just ideas stage. I absolutely do not want to go deeper by publishing the stuff but I need an outlet and hope that you find the stuff so you can comment or whatever. If you want me to expand on some ideas, I will be happy to and hope you tell me your own thoughts because brainrot ain't going away and I want someone to talk to about this absolute madman. Peace Is An Illusion: Title comes from ideas when Makoto kept getting visited by the Peacekeepers. Honestly, I want to explore that especially with Yomi because the power balance and dynamic is just too interesting. I'm also curious about how Makoto got the Peacekeepers to turn on Yomi at Chapter 4 and while I have an idea, I haven't written far enough yet. Here's the first snippet for fun.
Makoto valued privacy but he really couldn't do anything when a certain group of people loved to break it. The only consolation he felt was that Yomi Hellsmile walked in on Makoto Katsuguchi exploding the kitchen.
"What the fuck?!" Makoto had heard Yomi shouted when he turned around from the smoking oven and holding out a blackened tray to see unexpected visitors in the form of the Director and backup.
"Oh hello Yomi," Makoto took in stride of such an unexpected and frankly unwelcome drop in, "I was just trying to bake cookies for myself. Since you are here, would you like to try some?"
He could see Yomi looking at the disaster of a kitchen and then the surprisingly normal looking cookies that resulted from it. Makoto could sense the apprehension and the hard refusal on his lips that would come up if Makoto had not continued, almost shoving the tray their way.
"Please don't be shy. What kind of host would I be if I at least didn't offer something to my guests. Before we start something, why not indulge on this hospitality?" Makoto asked.
It was easy to see Yomi warring between just upending the tray while calling it bullshit and just taking the damn cookie because this hospitality could also equate to slight servitude to Yomi, with Makoto serving him something. Petty, Makoto knew, but Yomi always liked being superior and if it meant indulging pettiness, why not?
In the end, just as Makoto hoped and expected, Yomi aggressively took a cookie, bit into it and then with an odd look on his face while looking around, he went to the kitchen sink and puked his guts out.
That would be disgusting to clean up but in Makoto's own childish pettiness that he wanted to indulge when he was born without experiencing it ever, it was totally worth it. -Totally funny too, not gonna lie but that's all I have for now. I want him to meet Seth, Martina, Guillaume and other Peacekeepers just barging in and explore everything with Yomi, about fear, survival and power balances, you know?
My Other Half and How I'm Never Made Whole: This one is more on the nose. I LOVE the dynamic between Yuma and Makoto. Original and clone dynamics send me and I just want to explore what could be love (platonically of course), hate, friendship, family, loneliness. EVERYTHING. I'm not sure how I want to go with this one but I have a nice snippet.
Thanks to the Peacekeepers, Makoto could never really trust his own subordinates despite his love for the city. Technology was far more reliable and less likely to betray, that even at the top of the tower he would have a far better worldview of this city than the Peacekeepers ever would.
It was how he was able to keep tabs on the Nocturnal Detective Agency and their skirmishes against the Peacekeepers. It was thanks to gut feeling and deductions after the latest defeat against the Peacekeepers wrought from the Director's beloved right hand that he had found himself idling around the submarine they call agency.
He was unsurprised when the submarine blew up, unable to stop the destruction even when he was able to. He would not ruin the delicate balance that he had with the Peacekeepers, not yet considering Yomi's unpredictability and volatileness. He had only managed to minimize damage, that will undoubtedly infuriate Yomi against Martina considering it was far out of his scope of ruthlessness.
Whatever happens with the Peacekeepers will stay with the Peacekeepers for now, when he had bigger fish to fry... pun not intended considering the blown up submarine on the river. As a homunculus to Number One of the WDO, he had more faith that Master Detectives with amazing Fortes would undoubtedly come out of this unscathed considering the training they undergone.
He was far more concerned with Yuma, his original. Wiped off all memories, making a pact with a death god that he can be sure of considering his own, albeit outdated, memories and knowledge about the WDO and the mysterious death of the culprits so far with the one main factor being Yuma himself.
The original had lost way more memories than the clone had thought, regressing from WDO training and cases that had built him up to this day. Possessing more naivete and less survival skills than the day Makoto was born, the chances of his survival was at a lower rate that Makoto couldn't have. No matter how he felt about the original, every detective was useful to him in this current state of affairs. No matter what Number One had planned against his clone, he needed to ensure his survival.
The Book of Death was interesting, and only outsiders could topple the structure that Yomi was hellbent on keeping. Number One on the scene would surely ensure success, despite the utter lack of memories when considering Makoto's own success.
-I also have another snippet really separate, mostly to explain why we met Makoto taking a bath of all things: While waiting for Number One, or him going by Yuma Kokohead these days, to wake up, Makoto ended up going to the bath, cleaning himself up from the impromptu dive so that his original didn't end up swimming with the fishes.
My Love For This City and How They Love Me: I love Makoto, don't get me wrong. But do I seriously believe that Kanai Ward simply accepted the fact they were homunculus and just straight up voted Makoto as their leader. Nah, there definitely had to be some dispute because Dohya District and their hate on Amaterasu although it was more on the Peacekeepers, and even at the epilogue, I think there is some dissent but I also believe that Makoto had done enough to earn the belief that made him their leader too. I love him, but I want explanations, you know? So it's completely plausible a lot has happened in the month-ish between chapter 5 and that epilogue. I have a snippet right here, about the time that Makoto was voted in as the leader, and he invited Kurumi up there, as an informant and citizen just to have an understanding why.
"Why would the people put me back in the CEO position? Why would you want me as your leader?" Makoto asked Kurumi, immediately after the results came out. He had invited her in his pent house, having tea and simply checking up on her after the incident in the restricted area.
Despite Makoto's high position as Amaterasu Cooperation, the company was never really a government to this city in the first place, having ushered a tyrannical era upon them thanks to the Peacekeeper's hands in the beginning. Only workers and a fair few people had an inkling of an idea who the CEO is and the rest had only been shocked, such as Yakou Furio and Kurumi Wendy, when the CEO of the big bad company had turned out to be a masked weirdo.
[I kinda want to put a lot of dialogue here but don't know how so it's a bit of a skip after a heavy conversation, yeah?]
Kurumi smiled, as if everything made sense but Makoto found it damning, somehow shouldering the fact that he had to continue this position, always in authority and decision until the rest of his kin could take him no more, was the atonement expected of his crime. A more lucrative one in comparison to simply giving himself over the UG.
Makoto might say he love Kanai ward and the homunculi might say they put their belief on him, but the words were superficial, with deeper meaning all too twisted underneath it.
After all, Makoto's love was not unconditional, considering how he would protect only the innocent but had no problem slaughtering criminals and getting rid of useful pawns for the greater good in extremely black and white thinking to preserve the city.
And Kanai Ward's belief in Makoto was not for the person he was but for the experience and resources he had garnered as the perfect homunculus and CEO. For the blackmail against the UG for the better life that they had all desired the moment their lives turned upside down with isolation that he thought was for their own good and got turned around now with the newfound knowledge and the idealism that they could only improve from here. For his wits and genius that could be taken advantage for a better livelihood.
It didn't hurt that unlike Yomi, Makoto was more affable of a person despite his workers having a taste of his eccentricities.
Makoto was far from stupid, knowing that his position was never out of love and belief, something that can easily be taken away if he ever turn the wrong path or was no longer useful to them. It was his atonement, to make himself useful in lieu of his crimes that had garnered some sympathy because they all knew he did this for the survival of his own kind but were still unforgivable for the utter lack of humanity even if it was to accommodate for the differences their kind simply had.
The city wanted to live instead of survive. It wanted to flourish instead of stagnate. Now that they know, they believed that they could turn things around. They had rallied and used Makoto as their banner. This time around, even in his position, he was not the only one holding the reins, with people who knew of their plight trying to use their own resources and knowledge that Makoto did not possess on top of Makoto's own.
'Let's see where this idealism takes us,' Makoto thought, unsure that it would even lead to a perfect solution because they still had the UG themselves to contend against but with the city in the know and on his side...
Maybe the original actually made sense with this proposal despite Makoto's own doubts.
Little did he know, he was being observed by Kurumi who had a soft smile on her face when she saw Makoto deep in thought, his eyes always to the state of the city and that softening in his posture and eyes just at the sight of the city.
Makoto was by all means not perfect but considering their entire situation, the burdens he had carried for their survival was endearing and touching. Even through their shock, they had an inkling about how much Makoto had cared about them, about their kind.
Makoto would not know about this now, but although it was not smooth sailing, everyone came to an unanimous decision of Makoto's leadership, for one reason alone.
The obvious love for their city, and despite everything, that had been enough for everyone to give this a go. He might not believe that yet, but at least for now, the citizens do.
-I get it might be more complicated than that, but as Makoto said, homunculus had a right to live despite their defectiveness and even if they had commit monstrosities that they still have to wrap their head around, they never asked to be made. And yet, they still want to survive. Survival has always been a base instinct until it's not, no matter the cost. I think that's why Makoto had lived as the perfect homunculus and why Kanai Ward is still standing by the epilogue. There might be times where we want to end things, but more often than not, we still continue out of opportunities, possibilities, dreams etc. At least that's my take and I might be wrong, but simple idealism, I guess.
Can Never Be Seen, Can Never Take Off The Mask: I don't have snippets but I kinda want to explore how Makoto lived with the UG, how he realized he was a homunculus and that he was simply a doppelganger out of an original. How he started wearing masks because he didn't want to be anything like his original, down to the appearance etc. Something like that. What do you think?
Can Never Save All, And Thus Opposition Is Born: I think that the Resistance should be known more, and how they would feel about the CEO, who in their eyes, might be incompetent for letting the Peacekeepers have their way. How his sudden rise was suspicious. Or something. Makoto might love the city, but even with the power imbalances and the rise of Peacekeepers that Makoto had simply been too late to stop or could have never in the first place, that love did not reach deep enough to help the slums become a better place. I get that nothing is perfect, and Makoto might have his hands full as one person, only sticking to basic survival and preservation but it does make the love a little shallow. I don't discount what Makoto has done but I don't want to ignore stuff like this either. It's something that could be explored.
I See A Reflection But It Is Not Me: I AM SICK FOR MAKOTO AND YUMA DYNAMIC. I am utterly attempted to make a Gab version or Danganronpa Friendship reports, whatever, just to have those two interact more. Even if it would be borderline AU. Just let me do it T_T
No titles yet, and in the maybe but a part of me wanted to explore Fink the Artist, Yakou Furio, Makoto and Yomi. That whole debacle, because what do you mean Makoto introduced a hitman to Yakou??? OK, I know that Yomi had instigated, and Yakou went through with it despite the obvious trap? But Makoto fanning the flames??? I love Makoto, but I won't justify him I promise. He had done a lot of evil shit and he's still my favorite. Ugh... it feels like Kokichi Ouma all over again, but Yakou Furio was still not innocent in all of this. Even instigated or the flames are fanned, he could have turned back and find a better way than killing Dr. Huesca out of his wife's memory. Well, the whole thing was a total mess and it hurts. Chapter 4 still kills us all, and everyone is equally innocent and guilty in all this except for Yomi who can go to hell for this. Point is, I kinda want to imagine a scene with Yakou, Makoto and the hitman. Everyone's thoughts on the matter and despite everything, Makoto loves the innocent of the city the most and at that point, Yakou was. Even when he wanted to fan the flames, a part of me wondered whether there was a crack of doubt to make Yakou turn back from all this, an 'Are you sure?' and Yakou still doing it anyway. I mean, that man is insane because I could not believe going through mental trauma of getting poisoned, electrocuted (even if not in that timeline) and then just stabbed all in order for vengeance, in memory of his wife. That's just dedication. My take in all of it but Chapter 4 and the feels, yeah? If only one person had just stopped to think, except for Yomi coz he would 100% go through with it the bastard.
Well, that's it and I hope you leave comments coz I need someone to scream about Makoto with me. PLEASE. I'm still not over him.

Mashiro Kanade Main Story — Being Loved END
Tumblr media
I do not own any of the content being uploaded on this blog, everything belongs to CYBIRD. Please support them by downloading and playing their games.
read this before interacting with my posts
Kanade: With this song, I will shoot down the bird that can't sing because it lost its voice.
Kanade: And...
Kanade: I will make it realise that the sky it's flying through is a lie.
Kanade’s words were the cue for me to play the intro of the love song I wrote for Kanade while thinking about him.
Soon…——
Kanade: “The Labor”.
Kanade took a deep breath and sang in his unique voice that pierced directly into the hearts and souls of those who heard him.
(…!?)
Kanade’s voice echoed across the venue like a flash of light, capturing my heart as I listened to him from backstage.
(My eyes, ears, skin,… body, and mind have been dominated by Kanade’s singing.)
That was the kind of powerful impact I wanted that song to have.
(This is a dream come true.)
The sense of accomplishment and happiness as I hummed the lyrics along with his singing felt so amazing that I started tearing up.
The crowd became more enthusiastic when SilverVine took the stage, and they were immersed in Kanade singing a love song, something SilverVine had never done before.
More people were joining the crowd surrounding the stage, as if they were drawn in by Kanade’s singing.
When SilverVine finished their first song and was about to move on to the next…
(What!?)
A large group of staff from Rindou were quickly positioned at the entrances, exits, and audience seating area.
MC: There’s so many of them…!
When I exclaimed in surprise, Koki gave me a wry smile…
Koki: I guess that’s it.
We were forced to cancel the guerrilla live show after more members of the public gathered to watch the performance that could be heard from outside the venue, and even Rindou failed to control the crowd…——
The audience was forced to leave before Rindou finally left.
The lights went out, and Kanade stood alone on the dark stage, looking up at the night sky.
I quietly approached him and hesitated a little before calling out to him.
MC: Kanade.
MC: Koki said that he’s withdrawing…
Kanade stared at the sky for a while more after I spoke to him, and then he turned his head towards me.
He was smiling happily in the moonlight, his smile looked happier than any smile I’ve seen before.
MC: Kanade?
His smile was so captivating that it almost took my breath away.
Kanade approached me…
Kanade: Tonight, with your song, I’ve ‘devoured’ countless human souls.
Kanade: What’s next?
(Ah…)
He said in a happy tone, but I could see the “hunger” in his eyes, different from the satisfied look I saw earlier.
(Kanade wants to fly even further.)
(The ultimate goal isn’t to just stop here.)
I smiled back at Kanade and said in response,
MC: Next time, I’ll make an even better song that will surprise you more than this one did.
Kanade: That’s what you said…
Kanade pinched my cheeks teasingly.
MC: Nn…!
Kanade: … And I’ll be looking forward to it.
Laughing together with Kanade, we walked off the stage without looking back.
One month later…
Today, everyone living at the Sakuragi was present in the living room, except MC and Kanade.
Henri: Wait— really!?
Koki: Oh? Why would i lie?
Koki smiled as he looked at everyone’s faces.
Koki: The one-month suspension we received for the guerrilla live show will expire today. So…
Koki: I’m glad to announce that ‘Own The Night’ is back on track! After all, none of us were arrested.
Koki: And, well… that’s great news, right?
Ritsu: It sounds a little too good to be true.
Henri: Oh I get it. There was even an article about this.
Henri looked at the magazine ‘Yuzuriha’ spread out on the table.
Immediately after the guerrilla live show, Makoto began writing a series of articles about the public movement against the Music Control Act.
They consisted of interviews and news about the musicians involved in the movement. There were also articles about Own The Night, HOUNDS, and SilverVine.
Henri: It’s on TV as well. Because of our influence, there have been shows saying things like ‘we have to vote either for or against the Music Control Act”.
Eisuke, who had been reading articles from various news companies, looked up from his tablet.
Eisuke: There has certainly been a lot going on during the past month, however…
Eisuke: Nothing bad happened to the audience that day, right?
Eisuke: So the punishment given to us is reasonable in accordance to the regulatory laws.
Koki: Well, I did make use of some of my connections… and money.
Koki smiled proudly.
And then…
Koki: As for the activities of ‘F’ and ‘SO’, it’s just as they said it would be.
Koki: It appears that the dismissal of these artistes was put on hold, due to pressure from the upper management.
Koki: I don’t think Yuzuru and the others are happy about it, though.
Koki: Anyway, it’s a good thing for us, I guess.
Ritsu heaved a sigh of relief and Koki’s words.
Kyoichiro: Kanade… in SO’s case, it might have had something to do with the fact that he’s popular not only in Japan, but overseas as well.
Kyoichiro: I think the government made that decision to avoid any potential diplomatic fallouts.
Koki: That’s right.
Gaku: Koki, where did you get that information from?
Koki: Hm…? It’s a secret.
Eisuke: We’ve successfully made a breakthrough, now we just have to wait and see before blowing a hole in the government.
Eisuke: I’m looking forward to that.
Shuji, who had been listening to the conversations, looked around the room.
Shuji: Come to think of it, where are the two of them?
Henri smiled wryly…
Henri: Looks like I don’t have a choice. Shall I talk about it?
Henri: … They’re spending time together in their own little world.
After whispering cheekily, Henri burst out laughing.
While everyone was chatting at the Sakuragi…
I had went to Kanade’s apartment and was supposed to be making songs, but…
MC: W-wait…
Kanade: Nn…
I was on the sofa in Kanade’s arms, trying to stop his fingers from getting under my clothes while he kissed me deeply.
MC: Nn.. Kana… de…
I leaned against Kanade’s chest and looked up at him with moist eyes.
MC: Please stop… I can’t take it anymore.
Kanade: Why?
Kanade planted loud kisses on my forehead.
MC: B-because…
MC: I know that… this won’t end with just kisses…
Kanade: You don’t like it? Your face says otherwise, though.
(…! How can you say something so embarrassing…)
MC: … It’s not that I don’t like it. Today, I want to focus on songwriting.
As I spoke, Kanade placed a hand on my knees that were tightly squeezed together.
Kanade: That’s why I’m trying to help you.
Kanade’s hand slid upwards and my breath grew hotter.
MC: Hyaa…
Kanade: When I do this, your heart rhythm goes faster, and your emotions become more genuine.
Kanade: And when that happens…
Kanade: Won’t it give you more inspiration?
MC: … T-that’s
I wanted to say something, but I was at a loss for words. Kanade’s fingertips mischievously played around at the area between my legs.
MC: Nn.. aaah…
Kanade: Lean towards me even more.
Kanade: That’s right… good girl.
After doing as he said, I fell asleep in his arms. And when I woke up, I found myself on the bed.
(He must’ve carried me here.)
When I looked at the sofa, Kanade was shirtless with his guitar in hand, continuing with the song I was working on.
(I thought that I had made my dream song. But now, I’m getting greedier.)
(I want to make a song that will allow Kanade to fly further.)
Just as I held the blanket over my bare skin…
(Ah.)
My phone was ringing.
(It’s from Henri.)
——… He called to inform me about the revival of Own The Night.
From that day on, we spent a lot of time making sure that everything was ready…——
We were finally here at Own The Night’s comeback show.
Shuji: As expected, it’s really popular. Are they waiting for us to come out?
Shuji: I think the crowd is huge tonight.
MC: … Yeah.
This concert was the first since the revival of Own The Night. Of course, it had to be held under Rindou’s supervision and in accordance to the regulatory law’s guidelines.
The invitation club was flooding with new member applications after the guerrilla live show, but Koki continued our activities on a small scale.
However, word had gotten out and people who didn’t have invitations gathered outside the venue.
(I hope this doesn’t cause problems again.)
Kanade: Hm?
Kanade came into the dressing room and stared into my face with his eyebrows raised.
Kanade: What’s with that facial expression?
MC: Um… I’m a little nervous.
(It’s been a while since my last live show, and Kanade was going to sing my song again. Moreover, I heard that media will be present at tonight’s Own The Night.)
As my expression grew even more tense, Kanade said to me.
Kanade: It’s too late to be feeling nervous.
MC: Sorry…
When I immediately apologised without thinking, Kanade laughed.
And then…——
MC: What… K-Kanade?
Kanade took my right hand and got down on one knee…
Kanade: MC.
My heart beat faster as I saw Kanade one one knee in front of me, looking up at me with serious eyes.
Everyone in the dressing room was staring at us with wide eyes.
Kanade: All you have to do is watch me and believe in me.
Kanade: Leave everything to me.
Kanade: Your heart, your body… and your song.
Kanade spoke in a commanding tone, as if he were a King. But he kissed the back of my hand, like a knight swearing allegiance to me.
MC: Ah…
Kanade looked up at me again…
Kanade: It’s just like the first night.
MC: …!?
The hand Kanade was holding grew hotter.
While I was feeling too embarrassed and confused to say anything, Kanade said it again.
Kanade: You just keep quiet and give everything to me, got it?
MC: Y-yes.
Kyoichiro and Henri, who had been watching in silence, looked at each other with huge grins on their faces.
Henri: Haha. As expected of King Kanade.
Kyoichiro: Indeed.
Kanade stood up and gave them his usual calm smile.
The nervousness that had been building up inside me disappeared as I smiled with him.
(If my song will be your wings, I’ll give you as much as you want.)
Kanade: Almost time for the performance to begin. Let’s go.
With my hand still in his, Kanade started walking.
MC: …!?
Kanade: …? Is there anything else you need?
MC: N-no.
For a moment, I thought I could see wings sprouting from Kanade’s back.
MC: Let’s go!
I exclaimed enthusiastically before squeezing Kanade’s hand back and took a giant step forward to match his speed…——

Omg thank you so much for your posts about rinharu!! :"")) I was one of those people who were like "why are rinharu fighting again?? Did kyoani purposely seperate them /again/ just for the sake of drama ?? (And so that they have more oppurtunities to showcase other ships??)" I was really irked at first cuz i thought the first part of TFS is finally going to be a movie about rinharu being a powercouple, but! After reading your posts i realised that haru never really moved on from rin leaving, even in S3 the reason why hiyori's words affected him was because he thought he caused rin to leave (and by extension ikuya, but lbr haru wasn't as frustrated with ikuya nearly as much as he was with rin right) so i'm just here to say.. thank you so much for opening my eyes!!! Now i'm really looking forward to the second part!!
Awww no problem <3 tbh I've always said that free is one of those that has so many nuances left bts that it's sometimes confusing for those who aren't as invested I think. Like there's so many important things that are left out and are in additional materials, that some has no idea what's going on at times. Like back in the days when some interpreted s2 in the opposite way bc of that one thing. My point is that not everyone is even watches stuff like recaps for example (where there are in fact new easter eggs and so many important things like Rin's dad death aftermath etc), and even less read novels and checked side stories and dramas.
For example, in books this Haru's issue about him thinking he's cursed and hurts everyone with his swimming is a huge thing, when Asahi "lost his ability to swim" after seeing Haru's free. But in SD it wasn't adressed at all tbh.
And what Haru feels for Rin is such tornado of emotions, that surprised even me with all the descriptions, bc like it's real bad. Like that part I posted from the chapter when Rin leaves is at least understandable, since he leaves. But the way he reacts to him in general even when he just appears in his sight is always described as if someone tortures him for real lol. And he's always like "pls someone save me, I don't know how to deal with this, bc I've never felt such emotions before".
So basically, like yeah, he's as it is has this thing, when he thinks of himself as some bad omen, so he's very sensitive about it, but since everything Rin-related feels x100000000 for him, its just... well, it hurt for a very long time and sadly was just overlooked by a certain someone, so here we are.
I think we all at first believed that bc Rin's so shocked and in disbelief that Haru could even think that it was his fault in some way:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that maybe they talked about it bts or smth like after the relay. But it seems like Rin either forgot or most likely I think he maybe thought that Haru understood without words? I'm just real sad still that Haru didn't get to hear this speech:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, they made it look by the end of s1 that it was about relay, which partially yeah, but for Rin it was really about Haru. You see what he said.. he said that that 1x02 race with Haru alone.. what made him want to swim again. This whole speech was not only about the fact that Haru wasn't at fault that he quit swimming in the first place, but about the fact that Haru is his lucky charm, that makes everything better. AND WE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO HEAR THAT. So like for Haru it's to this day like "after I messed him up, Rin was saved with the power of friendship and a relay". But he was saved by Haru really. Bc according to s3 info, it was basically just about Haru being on the relay team. I don't try to demean their friendships or anything, but its just what it is.
And as I've said before in one post it's just fascinating that to this day Rin for example thinks that s1 shananigans were just about him and just his problem:
Tumblr media
Haru thought it was about them and their problem:
Tumblr media
So like my point here is I also up to the end of s2 thought that maybe Rei or Rin told that to him, bc we seemed to move on to another problems, until in Kizuna we were shown that he still dreams about that scene of Rin leaving. s3 Hiyori just exposed the wound really.
But also once again see what he said there, it's not just about that one time he keeps reliving, aka his first come back, its really just about each time Rin was leaving. Like the very first one already was bad, the second was the worst, bc he thought he hurt him and thought that bc of him he quit swimming, others are just painful bc by then it was already another kind of feeling. I mean, I do think that this first Rin's return to Australia thing needs to be cleared up since it's obviously still haunting him. But again it's just part of this. Haru after the Australian trip and "I've always admired you" and "without you I have nothing to aim for" and after TYM goodbye when Rin told him that he doesn't need a surprise party and that just swimming with Haru before leaving is the greastest surprise for him, he knows already about the way Rin feels about swimming with him... I think the reason why everyone is freaking out here is that bc the way it's executed it's just really about him constantly missing him and "why am I always have to longingly watch you leave, while you seem fine." If he was in a free race, but wasn't on a relay team, he'd get the same reaction. Its just all seasons combined that brought us here. We already in 3x01 without Hiyori knew that he wasn't handling Rin being far away again good. So tbh it's logical even without any explanation really. I mean, Rin does indeed leave and come back as he pleases and does what he wants without holding back or sometimes thinking about consequences. There's no lie here.
It's like since the beginning for Rin it was like "I found the gorgeous guy I adore and I want to swim with, I'll transfer schools just to nag him into swimming with me, it's not like he's gonna care if I leave after that." (he literally in the book didn't think it was a big deal)
For Haru it was like "I lived just fine, but this guy stormed into my life, made me want things I didn't think I'd ever want, got me addicted to him and then dropped me like a hot potato".
Rin's just very passionate about life and things he wants, like Haru for example, but he's really also very unobservant and very clueless at times.
But like just bc he doesn't know about Haru's existential crisis and all the pain he's truly in when he's leaving, doesn't change the fact that he at times didn't even treat him as a simple friend (because they can't be just friends I KNOW), but still things like "you could've called" "well sorry, I guess I'm just not good at it" are probably hurtful, considering the fact that you are good at it with everyone else tho, Rin sweetie. Like thanks for avoiding us the most and holding back and visiting us the last each time, we feel real special. Haru is like the opposite, he doesn't call anyone for example, but he can call Rin in the middle of the night if needed, he always does for Rin smth that's completely out of his comfort zone.
It's like some say "Rin didn't know he wanted him to call" or "he didn't know Haru felt guilty". He did know he wanted him to call and he didn't know Haru felt guilty and stopped swimming competitively when he stopped swimming, but then Rei told him and Natsuya in 3x03 reminded him about this too. Its just the fact that he doesn't want to add 1+1 and thinks "well, there's no way I can affect Haru like that right?", "he can't be that upset about Rin Matsuoka, right?". While facts are he IS literally the only one who affects Haru in such huge way. It's like everyone else can just pass him by and it's nothing, but he walks by and it's a whole "asdfghgfdsa why my body is on fire, its just Rin who's just standing there".
And I'm also buffled by this thing that some people really say stuff like "where did this come from, they were perfectly fine" etc, as if they ever had normal "friendship" relationship. I'm like when did they ever behave themselves okay? In 3x03 Rin is dying to call Haru, but can't do it, while he's constantly texting everyone including Nagisa. First thing he says in the airport when he comes back is "I'm home, Haru" to air, but then goes to hang out with Makoto and Sousuke, desperately looking for an excuse to see the one whom he from the beginning, as it was shown wanted to see the most, but in his opinion can’t without a reason. It's only when Makoto tells him that Haru was upset about Albert he quickly rans off out of there bc "hooray, I have an excuse to see my bae”. Like we know from the airport scene that he wanted to see Haru the most. If they're so as people say were doing great, than how do you exlain all of their s2 and s3 behavior for real? It's like as if in TYM Haru didn't lose his shit from some gossip about persimmons. I mean, they never settled anything really. And Haru is constantly scared of Rin leaving again since forever.
So it's complicated, but yes, we're super excited for p2, bc asdfghjhgfds.

inarticulate thoughts on archon quest pt iii
Major spoilers for archon quest pt iii ahead.
Okay. Okay. Holy shit. I'm still reeling. I really don't know how Genshin's writing and lore just continues to get better. I was honestly thinking that at some point, the writing quality would drop off--and I didn't think the writing was all that stellar to start with. But the writing for Inazuma is absolutely fucking immaculate.
Just to get this out of the way, I have a singular issue with Genshin's writing that is unavoidable: that it can get kind of trite sometimes. But I don't begrudge the game its cliches about friendship and loyalty and hope in the face of insurmountable odds because, even if the writing can get almost childish, it's spectacular for the vast majority of the game. And I don't mind that the game is inherently hopeful. The world is awful enough without needing to play games about just how awful other worlds are.
This is going to be disorganized. So I'm going to start with what made me go oh, clever, and that's the Raiden boss fight at the end.
Demanding a Rematch with Ei
I had an essay about how well Inazuma does game design and a section was on the boss fight in pt ii specifically, but I never got around to posting it. Here's what I wrote:
I want to talk specifically about the Baal boss fight in Archon Quest Part II Electric Boogaloo. If you haven't played it yet, it's a two-part boss fight. Until you've smacked Baal down to 75% HP, it's basically a normal domain battle--a 1v1 match between your team and Baal. But then at 75% HP, Baal decides you know what, no, you don't get to use your Vision, and every member of your team who isn't Traveler gets their E and Q locked for 1 minute.
Your job for that 1 minute?
Survive.
And Baal does not make it easy for you.
But if you make it for that 1 minute, does that mean you get your E and Q back? No, a cutscene plays instead where Baal uses the divine judgement smite and smacks Traveler in the face with it. Yes, you survive. Yes, you and Thoma get to run away to see another day. But there is no way for you to win that boss fight.
The Baal boss fight is the first time Mihoyo has used a "you can't win this fight" mechanic where you will lose and it does not matter what you do.
And it fits pretty damn well with the narrative and thematic components of Inazuma as a whole. You aren't a fairy tale hero who defeats all the bad guys. Hell, you aren't even a leader mounting a glorious resistance. You are not that guy, at least not for patch 2.0. You're just a scrappy traveler from out of town, out of their depth and needing to rely on people they can barely trust in order to survive.
This country is fucking hostile, and the Baal boss fight is one of the best ways that Genshin hammers that into players.
I stand by this. What makes the Baal boss fight even better in pt iii is that it mirrors that first and utterly disempowering fight. You cannot win that fight by yourself, and that remains consistent. She's simply too good at her job. What wins you the fight in part ii, however, is the fact that you are not by yourself.
And I'm not talking about Yae. You're backed by the hopes and dreams and ambitions of the people of Inazuma, crying out to their ruler in the hopes that she will hear them. It fits Inazuma's general theme--you're not the hero, Traveler. You're the messenger. Hell, you're the vessel. And I thought that was particularly powerful.
It's just good writing, that you still do not win that fight on your own.
The Kazuha Scene
I don't know how to convey the amount of sheer shock I had during The Kazuha Scene. Genshin does not pull its punches and this scene is no exception. Kazuha dual-wielding Visions to Electro swirl and clash blades with the Raiden Fucking Shogun was the single most badass thing I've ever seen in this game.
It's also left vague if Kazuha himself, bearing his friend's ambition, was the one who reactivated it--or if, reaching beyond the veil, it was his friend himself. But in that moment, Kazuha reawakened a dead Kami no Me and that, that says a lot. Visions are tied intrinsically to the person they belong to, and despite being from the gods, they're also somehow the most inherently human thing. Kazuha, carrying his friend's will, woke one back up. I can't articulate this in essay form--might have to save it for a fic--but this has me in my feelings in a way I simply am unable to describe.
As an addendum because this doesn't quite go anywhere else, I really do enjoy the way Sara was written and the way you can see the bodies of the guards she leaves in her wake--not dead, but clearly flattened. Very badass.
Yae Dropping Bombshells
Yae. Yae Miko. Yae Miko really went "Oh, Scaramouche is a protoype puppet built by Ei ages ago. The Fatui fiddled with him a bit, though," with a completely straight face.
Yae Miko please.
Listen, I don't think anyone expected that to be Scaramouche's backstory at all.
And Yae's explanation of the story of Ei and Makoto makes Baal's 2D cutscene make vastly more sense. I was like ?? Why is she holding herself?? Is this a metaphor?? The answer is yes, it's a metaphor, it's also just Ei holding her sister, and it's a dramatic parallel to Traveler, who also lost their sibling somewhat during the cataclysm.
Will forever also be in my feelings about Makoto being the gentler of the two, thanks.
MMMM SUMERU LOREEEE ABOUT THE ARCHON TOO AHHHH AND KNOWLEDGE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SUMERU WHEN??
Speaking of "[insert teased thing here] when?"...
Signora
Alright, Signora's death, in and of itself, didn't make me feel all that bad.
That's a lie, sorry. It did make me feel pretty bad. Just the card Signora...is slain got me. Because Signora is the first casualty, and Signora's death is an escalation, and Signora...god, Signora is dead and Traveler killed her. Sure, it was Baal who made the finishing blow, but the moral consequences of that action lie on the Traveler's shoulders.
What does this mean for the future? Either Childe will kill us or send us a thank you card, I suppose. And it also means that Genshin's storyline may take a turn for the darker. Traveler killed someone. Traveler challenged Signora for a duel before the throne knowing damn well what that meant. The part afterward, as you walk out of the throne room, tells you everything you need to know about how Genshin is going to treat death.
It's fucking horrifying.
Traveler is getting unexplained headaches. They don't speak. The word is fuzzy, glitching out in reds and blues. They walk slowly, like they're in shock, like they can't walk any faster. Paimon begs you to say something because Traveler, you've gone quiet.
And sure, chalk this up to the fact that Baal was piggybacking off of Traveler to try and smite them as they left, but you don't know that as you walk down the stairs. You can only walk, and press space bar when Traveler feels woozy, and there's this feeling of confusion and panic you have to reckon with because Genshin's not a horror game, is it? But damn if it doesn't feel like one for a brief, terrifying stretch of time.
You killed a woman. And Genshin treats that action with the weight it deserves.
At least we all know the answer to "Signora playable when?" now.

So very excited to share this! It’s a playlist for my upcoming Free! fic, This Heart of Mine, the rewritten sequel to Eyes Wide Open All the Time. Every time Sojiro Sakura was the entire Phantom Thieves' Dad: Morgana
God, Sojiro thought as he watched the little boy with round blue eyes in front of him scarf down the rice and curry with a pleased grin on his face. Why did Akira's little brother have to be so damn cute?
Almost as soon as he started, the boy finished the meal and set his chopsticks down. "Thank you for the food, Mr. Sir!", 'Mona' called out, giving a quick little bow. By then there were a couple of other customers in the store, and they seemed to be doing Sojiro's cooing for him. Was Akira ever this adorable? For some reason, Sakura found himself doubting the image of Akira like this as a little boy.
Speaking of, said raven-haired teen was sitting next to his brother at the counter, eating up his own breakfast much slower. "Did you even taste it?", he remarked to the boy after finishing up a bite. "I did! And it tasted good! Now hurry up!", the younger demanded, grabbing him by the shoulders and shaking him violently. He seemed riled up, full of energy. It was like two sides of a coin. "What's the hurry?", the man asked, finding amusement in the young boy's energy. Reminded him of Futaba when she was young.
"I've never even left town before!! I wanna see the city!", he demanded, kicking at his chair in excitement. "In a bit. Let me eat, first.", the teen responded, trying to get him to stop kicking the seat. "But--" "Mona. Patience.", Akira warned, glaring down his sibling as he slowly took another bite.
"Hey, we're...", Makoto called out as she pushed open the door, letting Ann, Ryuji, and Akechi walk in. All eyes locked on the young guest, each giving a surprised expression. "Hello.", she greeted slowly with a soft smile. "Well, holy shit.", Ryuji muttered with wide eyes. "Ah! Cute!", Ann squealed. "...How the fu--", Akechi started, getting cut off by Akira. "Hey guys, just in time! This is my little brother, Mona.", the teen introduced, and wow if that tone of voice didn't give off the implication that something else was going on, then he didn't know what would. This was definitely a cover story for something, but the man was almost too afraid to find out what.
"Mona, these are the friends I was talking about. Say hello.", Akira instructed before taking another bite, still keeping the 'play along' tone in his voice. "Hi, there! Whatever Big Bro told you about me, it isn't true!", the boy almost shouted, making almost everyone in the group chuckle. "Hello there, Mona. It's a pleasure to meet you.", Makoto greeted, the formality in her tone making the child beam in pride. Oh jeez, this kid had an ego, didn't he.
"Hi, Mona!", Ann greeted, running up and giving the young boy a hug from behind. Mona froze in his spot, a red creeping from the tips of his ears. "You good?", Akira asked, clearly smirking as if he knew the answer. "Mhmm.", the boy quietly answered with a nod.
"Anyway, what's up?", "Oh, we were about to go check out this new movie that someone won't shut up about.", Ann explained while giving Ryuji a pointed glare. He just shrugged and gave a guilty smile. "And we were in the neighborhood, so we figured we'd invite you along.", Makoto finished with a slight smile. Akira echoed the expression, but shook his head. "Sorry, guys. Not this time. Someone wanted to go sightseeing today.", Akira explained, playfully nudging the young boy. "Is that so?", Akechi asked, speaking with a hint of amusement in his tone. "Maybe we could join you later. Show your little bro all the good spots.", Ryuji suggested, ruffling up the boy's hair, despite his very vocal protests. "Meet up for lunch?", Ann proposed, getting a nod in return. "Sounds great. See you guys later.", Akira called with a wave as his friends left. The sound of Ann squealing about how cute Mona looked could be heard from inside the cafe not a second later.
"So, how long are you going to be in town?", Sojiro asked, trying to make light conversation. The young boy froze in his seat, surprised expression on his face. Like he got caught in a lie. "Uh...", Mona trailed off, glancing in between Akira, who had stopped eating, and Sojiro, who was watching with far more attentiveness than before. "You do have a return ticket, right?", Sakura inquired, curious about this reaction.
"The train ride here...cost more than I thought it would.", Mona whimpered, playing with his two index fingers. Something didn't add up about this. Crossing his arms, Sojiro slowly asked, "And how did you get the money in the first place?" "I saved up my allowance.", Mona replied, far more quiet and shy than mere moments before. He spoke slower, too, like he was carefully choosing his words.
The man stood with crossed arms, looking the kid up and down, trying to analyze whether to believe him or not. It was plain as day that something amiss was going on, and Mona was in the center of it, but whether or not that thing should be something Sojiro would wanna get roped into was the biggest point of the debate. He was a man who knew when to pick his battles, and the panicked look in both Mona's and Akira's--ok, he could see the resemblance. Kind of.--eyes was the move that tipped the scale into surrendering this time. "OK, I'll tell your parents that you need a ticket back.", he decided, pulling out his phone to start dialing.
"Already done.", Akira spoke up, too quick to not be suspicious. "Your parents know where he is, right?", he asked, narrowing his eyes in suspicion. "If they didn't before, they did this morning.", the teen remarked in a deadpan, eyes still on the plate. "And let me tell you, Mom isn't happy.", he slipped in the detail, making the child shrink up in fear. A fear that was well-earned, if the few times he's ever actually met the kid's parents has anything to indicate. The Kurusu matriarch was a powerful authority if he's ever met one.
"You like cats, kid?", Sojiro asked in an attempt to change the tone, not catching the snicker that Akira tried to cover by stuffing his mouth with food. Mona seemed to look up in pondering, before giving a shrug. "Eh."
"Well, your brother's been taking care of a cat while he's staying here, and I was hoping you two would meet.", Sojiro explained, picturing the image in his head. They would either be best friends or sworn enemies, knowing the feline's attitude. Speaking of which... "Now that I think about it, I wonder where he is.", he muttered under his breath while collecting Mona's plate.
"Oh! I'll help!", the little boy volunteered, jumping out of the chair and running to the other side of the counter, quickly grabbing the dish and taking it to the sink. "Thank you, Mona.", Sakura was quick to respond, watching the probably-grade-schooler beam with pride.
Sakura turned to the elder brother and gave a long sigh. "Kid, you're lucky that your brother's cute. One convict's enough for me.", he grumbled, already acknowledging that standing his ground about the boy going home was a losing battle. "He says as if he hasn't adopted every member of the Phantom Thieves.", Akira remarked with a snicker, earning a dish towel to the face.

what’s up i spent way too long typing up a post about my thoughts on P5S, and it isn’t even all encompassing. i guess if you’re curious about anything i didn’t mention in this trainwreck just ask.
my spoiler-heavy thoughts/pseudo-review below the cut
THINGS I LIKED:
The characterization, broadly speaking. If you, like me, loved the Thieves in P5/P5R then you’ll be pretty happy with them here. There are a couple moments that made me roll my eyes (lookin’ at you, hot springs) but on the whole, the main cast are unchanged.
The new characters. Sophia and Zenkichi are great. Sophia is precious and Zenkichi straddles a very fine line of ‘realistically out of the loop, but gives as good as he gets.’ I don’t even care how silly their costumes were. Sophie looked like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man, though I did like her little emoticon visor, but also she had no pants. Wolf’s mask was badass but the fact that his stupid pointy hat was riveted to the top of his stupid disco high collar killed it and I wanted to see someone grab his hat and pull it back to see it fling back into place like a drinky-drinky bird. Even so, the characters were great, and when I noticed that all the attacks for Sophie’s initial pseudo-Persona had question marks after them (Kouga? Dia?), it made me laugh, and Wolf’s a good all-purpose party member because he hits like a fucking truck and nothing is immune to Almighty. Plus in some of his post-battle dialogue he calls them all ‘kiddos’ and they consistently call him Gramps.
The gameplay. I mean, yeah, it’s VERY different than P5, but you all know that. And hey! The game no longer immediately ends if Joker gets knocked out (unless he’s the only one left in the party, obviously). It ran pretty smoothly, there’s something weirdly charming about the other Thieves showing up perched on cover points, and the only consistent issue I ran into is that in segments where the camera gets forced into a certain angle, it can switch back so abruptly at the end that you accidentally go walking right off a ledge.
I’ve never really played a Dynasty Warriors-type game before, so it took me a Jail or so to get used to it, but then I was just cackling as I mowed down swarms of Jack Frosts like a weed-whacker in a flower field with a knife the size of Joker’s torso. Honestly, it took me the longest to get used to the fact that the circle button became the all-purpose ‘interact’ button than anything else.
Actually, that’s a lie. It took me the longest to get used to the fact that if I left a Jail, I wouldn’t be losing any time. I’m very used to Persona games having the calendar constantly counting down, which wasn’t the case here.
The story, broadly speaking. It had some hiccups and some issues, which I’ll get into, but for the most part, it was fun. I’m...not going to outline every detail of the story here, but it felt very P5-y and I enjoyed it.
THINGS I LIKED BUT THAT NEEDED WORK:
The writing. It was a little inconsistent, beyond just the usual weirdness that I have accepted comes along with Persona games. (//patiently clicks through numerous conversations of the gang going ‘did this super obvious thing that this memory threw in our faces happen? Let’s debate about whether the most likely answer by a huge margin is the answer’ and several conversations of ‘are we sure this person is bad? We saw them playing nice, like literally every other villain we’ve faced’) A lot was great! Like, the bit with the Okinawa locals breaking into the RV while the kids hide in the bushes? Genuinely unsettling! Akane’s Jail and the fake Thieves was fun, and seeing Zenkichi scuttle from hiding place to hiding place without Thief powers was funny, and his Shadow’s glowing eyes watching him before becoming his Persona was both badass and unsettling. The realization that EMMA was actively lying to Konoe was nice. Character interactions were great and I loved that Sophia went with Ichinose at the end. There was a lot that was good. But there were also a lot of missteps.
Like, it kind of felt like the direction for the writing changed partway through. It started out as if each member of the Phantom Thieves was going to get their own time to shine, identifying and empathizing with a Monarch. Ann realized she could have been Alice. Yusuke realized he could have been Ango and also saw redeeming him as sort of like redeeming Madarame by proxy. Mariko was a link to Haru’s childhood and her father. The ghost Jail on Okinawa lured Sophie in and by the end she realized how much she meant to her friends ryuji said fuck. Akane was Zenkichi’s literal daughter. And then it went to Konoe and then EMMA, so Ryuji, Futaba, Morgana, Makoto, and Joker didn’t get a chance to shine in that regard. The switch from ‘a Jail for everyone to identify with’ to ‘whelp here’s the decoy and the end boss’ felt like they came from two separate drafts of the script, and it’s not like they had to watch the time; I got through P5S in about a third the time it took me to get through P5R. It took me about 35 hours. Considering the game kind of relies on you having played P5, they already knew their target audience has a longer attention span than that.
Owada was talked up as kind of a big deal, but he had like two scenes on-screen and otherwise was an entirely off-screen character. There’s a lot of mid-combat dialogue that is very difficult to focus on, which was sort of annoying when some of it was actually relevant. Ichinose’s reveal as a villain is very info-dump-y.
Plus, Joker wasn’t utilized particularly well as a silent protagonist. He’s got more implied personality than basically any other Persona protag. Which means he’s actually pretty expressive throughout the game, but I can probably count his lines of dialogue outside of combat with fingers left over. No one expects Yu Narukami to actually react to anything, so it doesn’t feel odd when he doesn’t. But the combination of Joker being reasonably expressive and having a demonstrated personality means you’re perpetually EXPECTING and WANTING him to say something about the shit going on, and when he doesn’t it feels like mentally missing a stair.
THINGS THAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
The cut corners. Like, a lot of things just seem lazy. There were scenes that really should have been included that weren’t, like how the Thieves escaped from the hotel after the police showed up; it cut from Zenkichi warning them and getting arrested to them arriving at the temporary hideout, so we never even got to see how the Thieves reacted to realizing the cops were outside. Requests to bond with the other Thieves only got a couple of text boxes, when they could have shown a tiny scene of them hanging out like they had all over P5. Rather than having Sae actually on-screen for her brief scene, the camera instead very unnaturally switched to an angle as if it was from her point of view, which was literally the only time the camera did that in the entire game. All of the Sentries look the same from Jail to Jail, instead of being unique to each Jail. Igor is completely absent for the entire game, and other than a throwaway ‘my master can’t be here’ from Lavenza it’s just not really acknowledged.
The missed opportunities. Like, there is no way to look at this except to assume that Joker was a horrible friend to literally everyone in this world state. Like, I can pass off the fact that everyone has their baseline Personae as being because they haven’t had access to their powers for a while, but when you combine it with the fact that NONE of Joker’s other confidants show up or even know he’s back in Tokyo, it leaves little to assume except that in this world, no confidants got maxed out. On top of that, the Personae are all basically pointless. They could be Pokemon or Stands or Digimon or fucking YuGiOh cards, and it wouldn’t make a difference; NOTHING about the game says ‘these entities are integral to this world and important to these characters.’ Also they could have had Akane actually realize who the Thieves were and it would have been hysterical, but that’s just my personal sulk.
The Requests. I liked the Mementos missions in P5/P5R. They felt like they had a point. Requests in P5S are all basically just fetch quests. ‘Go to Location A, fight so many of Enemy B to get so many of Item C. Turn in Request.’ Hell, one of them bugged out on me, I swear. There’s a Request to teach Zenkichi how to cook a simple meal, and Haru gives you a recipe including beef. I had no beef on me at the time, because if you want SP restoratives you gotta cook a fair amount and I used it, and I could find literally no beef in the city I was in at the time so I had to abandon the Request. On top of that, outside of getting food or a few moments where another character specifically asks for Joker’s attention, character-specific Requests mostly replace the ability to bond with the other characters individually.
The restoratives. Or, more specifically, the disparity between HP restoratives and SP restoratives. There’s essentially one cookable recipe to restore SP for every four recipes to restore HP. Even if I stopped at every store and vending machine, I’m pretty sure there were a couple cities where I could find NO SP restoratives for sale, while most stores and vending machines had at least two or three HP restoratives. And while it is true that you can go in and out of a Jail whenever you please to restore SP, that doesn’t help you if you run out during a boss fight you weren’t expecting (mini-boss encounters are virtually identical to regular monster encounters) or during one of the times where you CAN’T leave the Jail for reasons XYZ.
The final boss, and not just because I died and had to start over a few times. As a concept, EMMA could be cool, but in reality she just seemed like the writers threw Yaldabaoth and Maruki in a blender and poured the results into the game. Like Yaldabaoth, she is a false god who seeks to control humanity, claiming it’s what they want. Like Maruki, she seems genuinely deluded into thinking it’s for the best and that she’s not doing anything wrong. Her Jail looked like a slightly sci-fi reskin of the Depths of Mementos. The shtick with the multiple platforms and getting to actually SEE an all-out attack at the end were nice, but for the most part the fight itself was nothing special. Ultimately, EMMA had nothing unique going for her except her name.
Plus, EMMA’s entire rationale was that the majority of humans want someone else to control their lives for them, essentially out of convenience. And she’s presented as being more or less right, but that just being one of the hurdles of being human. It seemed a little dour and far-fetched. Like, the Thieves repeatedly point out that struggling allows people to grow, and they’re right, but in my experience, I’ve never actually met anyone who, upon hitting a roadblock, decided ‘Jesus take the wheel.’ Considering the greed with which her weird tentacle arms snatched up the solidified Desires, the pettiness of the complaints she used as a “gotcha,” and the fact that she just kind of reiterates her ‘people want to be controlled’ point over and over, I think it would have felt a bit more true to life and given her more agency if, instead of presenting her as largely correct, it instead acknowledged that everyone at some time or another hits a wall and wants someone to tell them what to do and had her capitalizing on those individual brief moments to hook people in, despite her having reams of data that for most people, those moments are temporary.

makoharu bedtime story - superpowers
imagine makoto and haru lying in bed about to sleep. m: i want to visit that cake shop in osaka again. h: that's a long trip for some cake. m: i wish i could just teleport. that would be an amazing superpower. h: would that be your first choice? m: hmm, it would be useful. what about you? h: time control. m: *laughs* so intense! you'd be really powerful. you could literally change history! h: more importantly, if people were bothering me, i could just fast forward until they leave. m: *laughs* would you fast forward me? h: *smiles* never. well, actually— m: you would?! h: when you sleep in late. m: *smiles* because you're lonely? h: no, you just sleep so deeply and snore so loudly, i can’t stand it. m: really?! h: i'm joking. about the snoring. m: *smiles* i got it. h: i guess if you were feeling sad about something, i might rewind time and try to fix it beforehand. m: *smiles* that's sweet of you. although, meddling too much could be bad. or immoral? h: that's true. what else would you pick?
m: maybe something like talking to animals. h: how would that be useful? m: it would just be fun i guess. h: not if you went to an animal shelter. m: what do you mean? h: the animals would be sad so you’d feel sad and want to adopt them all. m: that's a good point... well, what about you? what else would you pick? h: mind control. m: another intense one! h: i could make people give me mackerel. and make them leave me alone. m: would you use that one on me? h: of course not. would you trust me not to? m: of course! h: although, i don’t know if i'd trust myself not to. m: really? h: like if something terrible happened, i'd be tempted to make you forget it. m: and then you'd have to lie to me about it. h: you'd always wonder if i did something to mess with you. you wouldn't be able to trust your own mind. m: this is too heavy!! h: mm. i think maybe... for a superpower... i'd just choose the ability to become a mermaid. m: *laughs* that sounds better. then, i'd pick that, too. h: you would? m: you'd probably spend a lot of time in the sea, so i'd miss you too much if i couldn't be with you. h: *smiles* i'd be glad to have you there. m: ah, it would be a lot of fun to swim around like a fish. h: it would be a nice thing to do, if you needed cheering up. m: *laughs* why am i sad in all your scenarios?! h: oh. i guess, when i think of superpowers, you're supposed to help people who need help. so of course i'd want to help you. m: you don't have to have any special powers to help me, haru. h: then how? m: by doing what you've always done. just... you know, be with me. h: that's all? m: *smiles* of course. i'll always be ok if i have you. h: *blushes* ok. but... you also need to stop trying to hide how you feel. m: well, i don't want you to worry. h: idiot. i'll worry anyway. m: *laughs* i'm actually feeling kind of sad right now, so please take care of me. h: sad? are you? you're laughing. m: i'm delirious with anguish. h: *smiles* i know how to cheer you up. m: oh? h: cake. m: *smiles* that would definitely help. h: then let's take a trip to osaka. m: *laughs* sure, i'll teleport us. h: i'm serious. next weekend. m: you don't have to do that! h: it'll be a nice trip. m: that's a long trip for some cake. h: it's worth it, if it will make you happy. makoto smiles and kisses him. m: i'm already happy. h: happier, then. m: well, it would be nice to go somewhere. h: ok. i'll book the hotel. m: i'm getting extra sprinkles this time. and extra whipped cream. h: add vanilla ice cream. m: ah, you read my mind. what will you get? maybe the key lime pie? h: *smiles* mm, you read my mind, too. m: *smiles* i guess we do have a superpower after all. h: it's a good one to have. m: will you share the whipped cream on your pie? h: what do you think i'm thinking? m: hm... that you'll even order extra for me? h: *smiles* you got it. they kiss. h: all right. let's sleep now. m: wake me up when you get up, ok? h: *smiles* i will. goodnight. m: actually, i have to kiss you one more time. haru starts to laugh as makoto leans over and kisses him, softly at first, letting it naturally become deeper. m: i love you. h: i love you. goodnight. m: goodnight.

Hey!!! Can I request Makoto Hanamiya x reader?
Wahaha hows everyone im back again after almost a year (this is a Thing now isnt it)
I didn’t do Lemony Things because you didn’t ask for it, but i couldnt think of what to write so I tossed in a bunch of tropes into my fave bot tatsu’s choosing command and um so this is a teacher au
this is set in hanamiya and co’s second year and everything’s the same except reader is a TEACHER at his school (not that much older, I headcanon them to be arnd 4/5 years older than the guys here?) so if thats not your thing feel free to not read it, take care
tldr; teacher!reader x student!hanamiya, gender neutral reader, sfw, ~2k words
Being the youngest teacher in school, relatively attractive and good at your job assures that most of the student body adores you. Some of them find you irritating, because you take your job seriously and it thwarts their hopes of getting an unfair extension, or handing in a shoddy assignment and getting good grades. Others respect you for it. You’ve had your fair share of teachers who completely disregard students or give them too much of an advantage, and you never want to be like them. You’re there to do your job, and that requires you to be dedicated and sincere. It’s more than just teaching kids, it’s about shaping their lives and you can’t ruin that just by not taking things seriously.
You pay attention to the rules, and you make sure that students do too. It’s a rich school, so the students don’t get into petty things deigned below their status, but sometimes their offences are all the more complicated. You don’t know how to deal with a feud between the heirs of two corporations which manifests itself in the form of a midnight brawl, nor do you know how to deal with people sneaking their boyfriends or girlfriends into the campus when you can’t tell if the rich kid belongs to your school or not. But you try your best, because you’ve become the discipline committee’s advisor, and if the students can handle things, you surely can.
It’s when you notice a certain pattern that you don’t know how to continue your job. The committee is just as disciplined as required from the rest of the students. They are the epitome of perfection, second only to the council that takes care of the business of the entire school. Yet, you’ve noticed something about Hanamiya from the discipline committee, and it’s thrown you for a loop.
He’s a great student; top grades, always polite and courteous, a member of the basketball club, that too as the captain… he’s nothing short of excellent. And he’s been beating kids up during his basketball matches, with the help of his team.
It pains you to think of all the people he’s possibly put into the hospital, all the people who might be unable to play for the rest of their life. But despite everything in you screaming to report him to the concerned authorities, you remain quiet.
It’s not like you have any proof either. It happened only because you heard some people from another school talking about his team, and to make sure the gossip wasn’t real, you’d paid extra attention to their next game. The rumours had been true.
You start observing him carefully, your eyes seeking him out more frequently - when you’re teaching him in class, when you’re in the committee’s room, when you walk by the gym and peek in through the windows. It’s weird, you have no explanation for it so you hope every day that no one ever finds out or asks you about it. But you can’t keep your eyes off of him.
And the more you look at him, the more you think of nothing but him. Or maybe it’s the other way round? Either way, you’ve got a guilty secret of your own on your hands. You like watching Hanamiya Makoto even when he’s doing absolutely nothing.
He hasn’t caught on, still smiling his polite smile at you during committee meetings, still answering questions perfectly in class, and still not noticing you loitering outside the gym.
It’s one of those times when you’re outside the gym, absently looking through the window wondering where Hanamiya is, when someone croons, “What brings you here, sensei?”
You inhale sharply, freezing. You don’t want to turn around, you can’t, not when Hanamiya is standing right behind you, and has caught you in the process of trying to locate him inside the gym.
Internally yelling at yourself, you exhale, plastering a smile on your face and turning around, “Oh, Hanamiya-kun, I was just passing by and thought I’d check in.” Best to stick to the truth. You didn’t want to make up an outlandish lie and get caught.
“Would you like to come in?”
Did you hear him correctly? You stare at him blankly, mind trying to process his words and coming up with nothing in return. Is he inviting you in? If so, why? What does he get out of letting you watch him practice? Could it be a scheme to get you in a secluded place and then threaten you?
Or maybe you just have an overactive imagination, and Hanamiya suspects nothing and is just extending the invitation out of common courtesy. You’re a teacher after all, it’s not the first time someone’s tried to butter you up for some extra credits, even if you wouldn’t follow through. A voice at the back of your mind jeers, you’ve already favoured Hanamiya by not telling people about his tactics.
“It’s alright, I have some work to finish up so I’d better get going.” You refuse. You’ve decided that you’re not going to come here again. Today’s the first and the last time you plan to get caught.
“Is it committee work?” Hanamiya asks, and unbidden, you nod. “You don’t have to worry about that. I will do my best to assist you. Please come in, I’d love if you did. If you’re worried you’ll get hit by a ball, don’t be. My team doesnt needlessly toss it about.”
The way he calls the team his, as if he owns it, doesn’t escape you. With no other option, you nod. It’s better if you see them playing from up close once, isn’t it?
He smiles, walking back up the steps leading to the gym, and holds the door open for you. You slip in, and he shuts it behind you. Now you’re in the lion’s den without any escape.
No, that’s not it, you scold yourself. You’re a teacher, you’re still much more powerful against some high school boys.
You sit down in a corner of the gym, trying to put on an air of almost disinterest, even though you’re incredibly curious.
They resume practicing, his teammates not even commenting on your presence as if it’s the most natural thing for you to be there, and for a moment you entertain the extremely embarrassing thought that maybe they all know you’ve been lurking. Please, no. Anything but that. You don’t know what you’d do if someone asked you about it.
Because without the thing about you being concerned about the things the basketball team is potentially doing, you’re doing the same thing girls in your grade used to do back when you were in school; stalking boys on athletic teams for less than pure reasons. If someone thought that you’re doing that now, it’d be so much worse. You’re a teacher. Despite how attractive your students can occasionally get, they’re not for you to feast your eyes on.
Soon, you go back on your words completely and are watching them openly, awed at the way the ball passes from one person to another and into the hoop. You’ve never been the best at sports, but people who are this talented are always admirable to you.
If only they didn’t use underhanded tactics, a voice says in your head, and your expression turns sour.
Maybe you’re wrong. You’re still trying to hold onto the idea that what happened during the game you watched was a one-time thing, and they’d played the rest of their matches with the utmost sportsmanship. You just feel bad, suspecting them of foul play when you don’t actually have much to go by other than one game and a remark from some unknown student of another school.
Hanamiya is a great guy, a good student and committee member who always helps you out and pays attention in your class. Considering he acts as the coach as well, you sincerely doubt that he’d be unaware of what the rest of the team does. If they were the ones engaging in foul play, you doubt he’d let it happen.
You’re obsessing over this when the air around you gets charged, and you lift your eyes just in time to watch as a ball almost hits your face. It whizzes past you and hits the wall hard, before bouncing off onto the ground and away. You say nothing, heart in your throat as you try to calm down, but you can’t, not when they’re all staring at you wordlessly.
Finally, Hanamiya makes his way over to you, and bends down, picking up the ball. Straightening, he looks down at you, and your eyes meet his, mind at war as you try to look away while also wishing you could stare at him forever. “You okay, sensei?”
You blink. “I- uh, yes, yes I am. It didn’t hit me.”
“Sorry about that, Hara was playing around and accidentally sent it your way.” You peek around him to watch as a purple haired boy holds up a hand, cheekily singing, ‘Sorry, sensei~’
He sounds anything but sorry. “Who even hits the ball that hard while playing around…” you mumble, biting your lip once you realise you’ve spoken out loud.
Hanamiya cracks a smile, and you uncomfortably avoid his eyes. “He’s a bit enthusiastic. Please don’t be upset, we’re very sorry. I understand if you’d like to leave now.”
“No, it’s okay,” the words spill out, “Accidents happen. It’s good that he’s enthusiastic. You need that in sports, right?” You laugh, overly cheerful because otherwise you’d just cry, and for a moment, your student’s eyes widen. Clearly, he wasn’t expecting you to want to stay. Well then, you’ll just prove him wrong. You pull your lips into a bright smile, and continue, “Please, I’m alright, so go back and play.”
Hanamiya nods, and the rest of the practice passes by in a blur. You’re playing attention now, and the way they play is almost hypnotising. Hanamiya and the other boy you teach - Seto, who sleeps through every class but miraculously answers correctly when he’s called up to the board to solve questions - render the others unable to score as they make some sort of elaborate formation that passes over your head. You’re so interested that it comes as a disappointment when they announce the end of practice.
You get up, trying not to lose balance as blood rushes through your legs again after sitting for so long. You’re reminded of all the work waiting for you, and you wince. Hanamiya had said he’d help you, but it was actually work for you, a student couldn’t do anything about it. You’d just spent the past hour and a half watching the basketball club play around like someone with no work pending.
Another late night, that’s all you could do about it now.
But as they all bow down and thank you, you can’t help but smile. It was certainly much more enjoyable than staring at documents, if you were being completely honest. You spent half the time wondering if the kids were as bad as people made them out to be, and the rest of it completely enthralled by them. Suffice it to say, you’d had a good afternoon.
You look at Hanamiya, head tilted to the side as you watch him give our orders to the juniors, and you allow yourself a second to admire his profile. He reminds you of one of your classmates from school, talented, good leadership skills and just overall admirable. And it’s painfully obvious that Hanamiya Makoto is handsome as well.
But that was that and this is this, and you’re not going to dwell upon it.
You don’t say anything to him, just slip out of the gym and walk off quietly. Once you’re far away, you turn back and stare at the gym. It’s getting late, the sky bathed yellow as the sun prepares to set, and below it the gym building looks majestic, standing tall.
You can hear the sounds of the boys cleaning up, and a smile spreads across your face.
Maybe you could come here again.
i quite like how this turned out tbh, id make it longer if i wasnt so impatient to post aND IF I DIDNT ALREADY MAKE YOU WAIT A YEAR
i hope yall liked it

Persona 5 Problems: Makoto/Sae’s father
Everyday I’m more pissed that their father wasn’t some two faced cop who worked with the Mafia (yeah I know we already have two not so good father figures but EFF THAT developing an existing character is more important)......Because it would’ve been SOOOOOOO beneficial to their development.
No you don’t understand a lot of things would make SO much sense! Sae’s attitude towards her father in this case especially. This time it’s not just “oh he off and died on us” (I mean he died from a mafia hit??? in the game it sounds like he was just walking around minding his own business when the hit happened, it wasn’t even in like a mafia shoot out where he tried to be a hero), instead it’s “This person who I looked up to, who I held as a moral beacon, turned out to not be who I thought he was. Everything about him is now tainted, even the profession I chose because I wanted to be like him and catch criminals, it’s now tainted. I hate him, but I still love him. I can’t let Makoto know who he really was, I won’t let her view be tainted either.” It makes more sense why she gets prickly about her father when brought up, it makes sense why she can’t/won’t talk about him in Makoto’s presence. Why Makoto thinks so highly of her father, but Sae does not. Instead “he just left us” becomes a cover up for how she truly feels.
Sae finds out via the higher ups at the police force (either they brought her in or she accidentally overheard and then confronted the people talking), apparently a few other officers were the same, it was the police’s way to make sure order was maintained between them and the mafia. But to the public, they covered that up with a lie, saying how upstanding he was. It saves the force’s face this way, and they talk Sae into the same thing. “It’d do horrible things to your reputation, it’d hurt Makoto, and so on and so on.” That’s why Sae keeps quiet, but it’s eating her up inside.
Makoto, she doesn’t know. Now it can go a few different ways (depending on the rewrite, but in this case let’s pretend it’s as close to the main game as possible). Her arc is more super focused on questioning authority rather than not following orders (I know it kinda has both, but in the game it’s more the latter or it’s framed as more the latter and it doesn’t really work since she still does follow orders, so we’re just gonna triple down on just questioning authority). And it’ll be more fleshed on on the why (which is not what the game did, which is key imo to fleshing out her character), and let’s change the whole “useless thing” to “you’re just a child who doesn’t know anything” and “can’t you just do as you are told?” (more broader and targeted towards her issues atm). Until the Kane arc she’s never needed to question authority, her father instilled that people in higher power usually know what’s best for society (yeah I know kinda insidious).
Now let’s just hop and a skip to when she meets Kane, in this case after finding out his name she’s instead kidnapped instead of her running in like a moron. Because Kane heard her last name was “Niijima,” a familiar name in the underground. Both from her famous sister and infamous father. This is where she finds out about her father’s history, here world is flipped upside down. Instead of a pointless stress out that she caused to Kane, he instead proactively chooses this as a means to make money. Mako’s sister has been throwing her guys in jail left and right, which means less guys to collect money, which means less money for him. He doesn’t like that, and he has blackmail. Before no one in the underground opening revealed the Hero Cop Niijima was actually dirty, the reasoning could be because there was no real need plus info is profitable in it’s own right so don’t just give it out willy nilly. In this case, holding out proved that Kane can turn it liquid and get money outta it. He blackmails Makoto, saying he’ll go public with this info, with undeniable proof (maybe he had it on his phone to begin with), and ruin their lives. Sae would be disgraced, Makoto might even been looked over from getting into a good college or getting a good job.
Now that her world has been rocked, this is probably when Makoto really starts questioning authority. The school staff, Sae, the police, everyone, all her doubts over the course of the arc start to come to a boil. She thinks about the PT. And here might be where I’d tweak how they are involved. See, Makoto got dirt on them, she was going to go to the principal, but the PT stop her. Instead THEY tell her “We’ll prove we’re just, please just wait.” She wonders how, and that’s when the MC reveals that they’ve heard rumors of a mafia boss hurting students in the area on the subway (which is true, in-game you hear this before Makoto mentions anything), you tell her mafia bosses are bad and that if they stop him that’d mean they were good right? Makoto isn’t.....completely convinced, but it won’t hurt her to hold out for a bit, not like she has anything to lose. This takes away the BS blackmail thing, and makes the PT more proactive. Flashforward to after meeting Kane. Makoto walks out of the building, the PT had just caught up to her, Makoto is fine but shaken up. She falls to the ground crying, saying how everything she knew was a lie, saying she can’t trust the adults. She says she doesn’t know if the PT are just or not, but she knows they take down those abusing their authority from how their past targets have been described. The PT tell her yes, she explains the situation. This leads to them realizing that Makoto is a “customer” of Kane and she can let them in (by the PT not being their like in the main game, we can’t say that they are also customers and thus don’t need Makoto btw).
Everything else plays about roughly the same. Makoto awakens more to the fact of her rage at authority figures abusing their power. She doesn’t tell her sister of the knew knowledge she obtained, but she does see her sister in a different light (one that’s capable of lying, but also someone who was trying her best to protect her, is a mixed feeling). She feels more closer to Futaba too, knowing what it’s like to be lied to in a sense. Her CoOp also focuses more on her dream to become a Police commissioner, something she never forgot about and was actively striving towards, but now is questioning and seeing how she could handle it in a new light.
Back to Sae, her sister’s dungeon has an additional somber taste to it. We see a woman who fought so hard to not be corrupt like her father, that she ended up going down a similar corrupt route. Her pure goal to not be like her father, almost turned her into him in a sense. Makoto is also fearful of this (possibly stemming from/explored in the CoOp).
Lastly, the dream world would make a lot more sense. Not only that he’s alive, but achieving such a high status/reward (I forget which). He’s not corrupt like he actually is! See he’s good? Everything is ideal! If we do have to wake our teammates up in P5R, it’s a lot more meaningful/understandable to have her go through the realization of what her father actually is, rather than just be like “yo he ded.”
Last thing, I like this idea not cause it ties her into Kane being like “oh I killed your father” no in this case, Sae already prosecuted the guy who killed their father. There’s no revenge to be had here. Her father was just well known by the underground, possibly never even met Kane. But it does provide a way to connect her to Kane, using her as a pawn more naturally too.
I dunno, I just feel like it makes more sense and it cleans up the story?????

Since you’ve gotten into Overlord, which is awesome, maybe Ains Ooal Gown could visit Hope’s Peak to obliterate Junko as she starts her killing game. I’d guess Mukuro would wisely stay out of the Overlord’s way.
Ains totally intentionally somehow gets involved in the Killing Game. ALL ACCORDING TO PLAN
-----
Tumblr media
(Ains) Wow, we are so lost right now. I didn’t think this city would be so massive...Actually, why does it look so much like Japan?
(Narberal) “...Momon, where are we going?”
(Ains) “Observing the city. It is obvious you cannot see how important it is that we do this.
(Narberal) “I’m afraid I don’t-”
(Ains) “Then let me enlighten you, Nabe. As you look at the buildings, you can tell that the cityscape is changing to more advanced structures. That means we’re entering a more prosperous area, and we can learn more info about this world.” That’s a complete lie, everything looks the same in this damn place!
(Narberal) “Ah, I see now! And we are going to the humans’ most vital area to learn information correct?”
(Ains) “Yes. That is precisely it.”
(Narberal) “Please excuse my earlier doubts then! You clearly have been thinking far more ahead than I have!”
(Ains) “Think nothing of it...Now then...” Ah crap, what was she talking about? There’s so many buildings that look the same! “To make sure you are on your toes, which building am I referring to, Nabe?”
(Narberal) “That one, correct?”
Tumblr media
(Ains) “Good, you are paying attention. Let us be on our way then.” Huh...That looks modern actually...Too modern for this world. Well, I suppose it isn’t too far out of the question for a fancy building here and there. Though this looks more like a school than something like a town hall.
Ains and Narberal walked towards the school, and he noticed a shift in the atmosphere. It seemed to be like a school from his world than one from this current one.
(Narberal) “This cold wind...We’re indoors and yet-”
(Ains) This seems like air conditioning. Wait a second!
Without saying anything, he instinctively walked around a corner and looked at the hallway.
(Ains) Hallway lights and they aren’t candles! Is this some kind of link to my real world?!...Wait a second, what is it doing here? Nothing from the real life made it into Ygradssil to begin with, how is it-”
(Boy’s Voice) “E-Excuse me?”
Ains and Narberal turned around and saw a brown haired boy looking at them confused.
Tumblr media
“H-Hi! I don’t think we’ve seen you before-”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“MOMON, GET-”
Tumblr media
BAP!
(Narberal) “EEK!”
(Ains) [Whispering] “Hey, what the hell are you doing?! We don’t want to attract any more attention than we have already! Don’t draw your weapons, not yet anyway!”
Tumblr media
(Narberal) [Whispering] “I-I am very sorry!”
(Ains) “Greetings, sorry about that. My name is Momon, and this is my companion Nabe. We are adventurers, and were hoping to find some quests we could take on.”
(Makoto) “Is...that a joke?”
(Ains) “Is there a problem?”
(Makoto) “Well...we’re stuck in this school for one thing. That teddy bear is making us kill each other and-”
(Ains) HUH?! “...And you ask US if we were joking?”
(Makoto) “I-I know it sounds ridiculous and-...Wait, how did you even get in? Can you help us?!”
(Narberal) “We just took the front door, I fail to understand what’s so difficult to understand.”
(???) “I’LL TELL YOU WHAT’S HARD TO UNDERSTAND!”
BOING!
Tumblr media
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE?! I SURE AS HECK DON’T REMEMBER HAVING STUPID COSPLAYERS PART OF MY CLASS!”
(Narberal) “...Can I draw my weapon out yet?”
(Ains) “Hm? You’re a machine. I can sense you being controlled from...the upper floors?”
Ains looked up, then back to Monokuma.
(Ains) “Where is this? I can tell it’s a school but...”
(Monokuma) “IF YA DON’T START ANSWERING MY QUESTIONS, I’M GOING TO HAVE TO KILL YOU!”
(Ains) “...Is that so?”
(Narberal) “I sense no magical abilities from that bear, or the boy over there. In fact, I do not sense anything.”
(Ains) “Same here...Everything’s purely mechanical.” This looks like a part of my world but...older. Even then, I can tell blood has shed here. My raise undead spell can work here...Then that means- “Out of curiosity bear, has anyone been killed here?”
(Monokuma) “A buncha kids, and soon to be YOU SINCE YOU’RE PISSING ME OFF-”
Narberal drew her sword and sliced the head off of Monokuma, scaring Makoto.
(Ains) “Good work, Nabe.”
(Narberal) “Thank you, Momon. Do we kill the humans here too?”
Ains looked at Makoto, and the environment around him.
(Ains) “Leave the survivors alive. I want you to contact Demiurge to collect the humans here for testing. They intrigue me.”
(Narberal) “Understood.”
(Makoto) “What, what’s going on?!”
(Ains) “But first...Do you know the kingdom this school is located in?”
(Makoto) “Kingdom?! We’re in Japan!”
(Ains) “...What year is it there?”
(Makoto) “2011!”
(Ains) This school is over a century old? Intriguing but...It’s not any of my guildmates, and I don’t think there’s a chance any of them are here...Oh well.
Several turrets deployed from the ceiling and shot at Ains, the bullets failing to penetrate his armor.
(Ains) “Turrets?”
Narberal pointed a finger at them, and shot lighting out of it, short circuiting all the turrets and forcing them to all explode.
(Ains) “You haven’t called yet, have you Nabe?
(Narberal) “No.”
(Ains) “Good. Because of that transgression...”
Tumblr media
“Survivors are no longer needed.”
Narberal’s lips had a slight smile to it as they slowly turned to Makoto and drew their weapons.
(Makoto) “HUH?! W-WAIT! THAT GIRL ISN’T WITH US-”
Once the school was left in burning ruins, they left the building and noticed that one seemed to particularly care they had massacred an entire schoolboard.
They looked back and noticed that the building was no longer burning, and was back to normal, and it didn’t even look like the building they had entered anymore.
(Ains) The hell was that?
(Narberal) “Um...were we actually able to learn anything from that exchange?”
(Ains) “O-Of course we did!” Did we though? That was some freak fever dream we just had there! Though it was definitely real, I kinda feel bad for those kids...Kinda. “We just learned that some powerful magic was keeping that building there until we entered. This means that spells that I’ve never encountered before go well beyond combat or mind control!”
(Narberal) “I understand now. We may encounter hallucinations that go beyond even tenth tier magic, and may aim to strike at us!”
(Ains) “Exactly.” I made that up on the spot but...I guess that works?
hey, he stopped the killing game at least.

The Phantom Thieves of Hearts x Female!Reader (A Rumor Only Lasts Seventy-Five Days)
Tumblr media
Author's Note: Hey, look, another Phantom Thieves of Hearts x Reader! Sorry Anon this isn't an Akira Kurusu x Reader or an Goro Akechi x Reader, but I worked really hard on this for you! And for everyone else who needs to know I'm still writing  fanfictions, even after all this waiting!
This fanfic does take place in an AU, where The Phantom Thieves of Hearts are actual, real thieves that steal from the rich and give it to the poor, and punish corrupt people and help out the weak. And so, the Metaverse doesn't exist. So, Morgana can't be a cat, he's a person. So, be ready Morgana fans! Because probably from now on I'll be more comfortable using a human!Morgana
This is 110% inspired by the new outfits from P5A Masquerade Party ---Detective Daylight--- and P5A Masquerade Party ---Phantom Midnight---, so, yeah. I'm not even going to lie, that's the reason I did this fanfiction in the first place. So, get ready for a masquearade party full of shinnagans and your local Phantom dorks with those specific outfits. I will make one modification, though. All the mask will be full on masks, not half masks like in the art because it ruins the fun of identities.
Also, please listen to Meet Me by Mickey Valen Feat. Noé. As, I almost made this a songfic but I decided against it later on because it seemed awkward and out of place. But, please do listen to the song. It's worth it!
Also, this does get a whole lot darker later on, but I can't tell you because. . . Well, it ruins the surprise of the Palace the Phantom Thieves are targetting. But, I'm warning you guys, it gets dark real fast. So, prepare for some feels.
"They sent us a calling card?!" A woman exclaimed in the middle of the night into an almost empty room. "But. . . Why?!"
She knew exactly why.
She's a liar.
"It will be alright. It's not the Man in the Black Mask, at least! If it was him, we'd be dead for sure!" A man said to the woman, putting an arm on her shoulder for comfort.
That part is true. If it was him, you two would be screwed with a capital S.
"True, but. . . What about the money? Our property? The workers? What are we going to do? They're going to steal everything with what we have!" The woman wailed into her hands.
Oh, stop being such a bitch about it like you actually care.
Because, I know you don't.
"It'll be alright. We know their tricks, they can't deceive us!" The man assured her.
Oh, he's lying now, too.
Great, the more lies, the worse this gets.
The Phantom Thieves, were a well-known group of thieves that stole from the rich and corrupt, and gave it to the poor.
They were a group of dangerous individuals who claimed to give justice to those corrupt people untouched by the law but was controversial as to if that was the truth. As, the only people who had seen them where severely hurt and often couldn't remember any faces of the people who had robbed them.
But, other than that, the only thing that could even give the public a clue as to who they were. . . Was rumors sprend by the masses.
That's right.
None of the group had ever gotten caught, so only rumors could satisfy the public's thrist for answers.
Sure, there was a few people who did know the Phantom Thieves, but the police was on thin ice with all the failures to capture the illustrious group, so anyone even suspected was often arrested if reported to the authorities.
So, not only was corrupt people was afraid of being found out, but so was the average citizen if they where reported.
Everyone lived in fear of the Phantom Thieves.
And yet. . . They were popular with the youth.
As a symbol of rebellion against corrupt laws and tyrants, which is why even though the group had revealed little to no information about themselves to the public, many companies would make products about them. From personalized Calling Cards to themed attractions, the Phantom Thieves turned from a urban legend to a worldwide media phenomenon.
The group had a site that you could request for them to target someone's "heart", or their reputation. Officially called the Phantom Aficionado Website but nicknamed "The Phan-Site" by the public, anyone could request for anyone else to be taught a lesson. From new, petty crime-doers to other thieves on the prowl.
But, despite being so illustrious and uuntouchable to the public. . . You knew all of them personally.
That's right.
You knew the people behind the masks.
The only thing is. . . You didn't know you knew them.
Because they had kept you naïve to any knowledge of the group.
But it's hard to do that when they're the talk of, well, everywhere.
"Today I will be not be teaching you today, you will be reading from your textbooks and answering the comprehendsion questions on page 194, 198 and 200." Your Japanese teacher, Miss Kawakami, said plainly.
"It is all review, because next to none of you have been doing the homework at all recently and I'm not happy about it. And since most of the class is not listening to me during lectures, you'll have the textbook to work with instead of me." She said in an annoyed tone, as if she honestly just wanted to leave the class right now and not deal with any of you.
"For those of you who did the homework. . . You are to come speak with in the hallway."
Come in the hallway? But Miss Kawakami almost never asked for that sort of thing, she'd just give you free time when this happened. What was the matter this time?
You got up from your seat, and walked out of the classroom. But before you could leave, Ryuji Sakamoto stopped you by grabbing your arm.
"Wait, you did the homework?" He asked from his desk.
You were in the same homeroom as Ryuji, so the two of you often hung out then since you guys were friends.
"Yes, I did, why?" You replied him.
"Ah, whatever. Can you give me the answers later?" Ryuji asked you, but you shook your head.
"Ryuji, the comprehension questions was the homework, so you have all the answers. Kawakami is just giving you the homework as classwork now." You sighed at him.
"For real?!"
"Yeah. Oh, that's right, you ditched yesterday, didn't you?" You asked him.
"Yeah, but I was helping Akechi with his house with Futuba and Morgana." Ryuji shot back.
"Okay, okay." You putting your hands up in surrender.
"(First/Name)! Come on, I know you did the homework! Ryuji! Quit bothering her and get back to work!" Miss Kawawkami yelled at you two.
"I'm coming!" You said back to your teacher. "See you around, Ryuji."
"See ya." Ryuji repiled, as he pulled out a textbook and a piece of paper.
You walked out the classroom to find. . . Two other people standing out in the hallway with you. They seemed just as confused as you were, but before any of you could speak, Miss Kawakami spoke up.
"So, since you actually did your homework, I'm giving the three of you permission to ditch this period, or at least slack off for the period. But, I need some help grading papers, can one of you help me out?" She asked.
There was silence among the three of you. Then, you spoke up.
"I'll do it."
"Thank you," Miss Kawakami smiled at you. "The two of you can go do what you want. (F/N), come with me."
You followed her to the teacher's office, to find a few other teachers there. Miss Kawakami sat you down at her desk and gave you an answer sheet, and simply told you to mark an answer with a slash if they got it wrong, and a minus a half if the person got the idea of the answer, but didn't answer it correctly. Then, she left you to your own devices in the office.
You where grading the tests of another class, which must have been Akira and Ann's class, as when you went through the papers, you noticed Ann's and Akira's tests in the pile of ones you graded. When you were almost finished grading, with only one left the pile, you felt a tap on your shoulder. When you turned, there was Makoto.
"(F/N)? What are you doing here?" She asked you.
"Miss Kawakami asked me to help her out with grading papers, and since I had nothing better to do since I finished my classwork, why not?" You said.
"Ah, I see. Did you see Ryuji doing it?" She asked, seriously. Her face got dark, almost like she was going to beat Ryuji up if he didn't.
Makoto Niijima was the student council president of Shujin Academy, and Ryuji was a local delinquent. So, the two often came into conflict when it came to school work and ethics. But outside of school, you won't know that with how they treat each other. Even though Makoto seems to not show Ryuji much respect, she does deep down have some for him. Even you could see that.
Ryuji was a sweetheart and a great person outside of school. He really was, it's just he can't stand adults who abuse their power. That's why he strongly supports the Phantom Thieves and what they do, since he believes that the justice they have is truly justice. Makoto also had a strong sense of justice as well, almost as strong as Ryuji's sense of justice. She believes that justice is, in a way, absolute and no one could escape it. And, you couldn't quite blame her for having that sense of justice, since she wanted to be a police commissioner and her sister was a public prosecutor, it made sense.
"I think so. I saw him with half of the work done. He asked me a few questions about the work before Miss Kawakami called me out of the room." You lied to her.
Makoto. . . Was not a good person to piss off, to say the least. Even for a student council president, she was scary angry.
In being a friend to Ryuji, you decided to cover for him.
"Oh, that's good." She said. Her dark look on her face faded into a cheerful smile. "That's wonderful."
Makoto. . . Your smile.
You've had that same one when. . .
"When you've finished, can we talk?" She asked. Her cheerful smile turned into a sincere smile. Like she was. . .
"Yeah, sure." You responded.
"Alright. Meet me by the student council room, okay?" She smiled, and you nodded and she left the room.
That smile had on her face. . . That was the same smile when you found out her sister was given a calling card.
In other words. . . She was definitely hiding something from you.
"Well, whatever." You sighed, turning back to the ungraded paper left untouched until then.
After you had finished, Miss Kawakami came in and asked if you had been told that somebody wants to see you, like as soon as possible. You told her someone had dropped by asking you to talk with them in the student council room, but you told them you wanted to finish your task first, to which they agreed. Kawakami thanked you for helping her and dismissed you to go see Makoto.
When you opened the door, only was Makoto there. She was waiting patiently on a table.
But there was one thing you noticed:
She had an earpiece in her right ear.
It was hard to notice with Makoto's usually neat hair not tucked behind her ear, but you saw an earpiece through her brown hair.
"Please, take a seat." She smiled warmly at you, and moved her left hand to a seat. But, that only made everything even more chilling than relaxing.
You nodded and was going to sit down when you saw something else Makoto did:
She quietly locked the door out of the room.
And then she turned back to you as you had sat down in the seat offered to you.
She smiled warmly again at you, like an mother looking after a beloved child. "I know this isn't something I should be asking, but. . ."
She stopped speaking for a moment and you heard something faint come from somewhere and then Makoto said, "Your last name is (Last/Name), correct?"
"Y-Yes, why?" You asked, scared by Makoto's calmness in the situation.
Makoto has never asked you about your family, so why is she---?
"Are you, by chance, related to Aeron and Mara (L/N)?" Makoto asked.
Who?
Your brows knitted together, and your head tilted to one side, as you face scrunched up.
Ae-ron And Mar-a?
Are those English names? Maybe?
"Who?" You asked Makoto.
"The people who where on the news the other day. It is suspected they are having affairs within their marriage to one another. . . And I thought they where your parents since you had the same last names." Makoto said.
"No." You answered, firmly. "My parents have Japanese names, I've never heard of those names before."
"I see." She nodded her head, as if she had learned something very important and vital. "Then, can you tell me your parent's names?"
"Hinata and Kasumi (L/N)." You stated.
"Can you tell me more about them?" She asked.
Why?
Why does she suddenly care about your life at home?
"They're both workaholics. Most of the time, they work all day, all night without stopping. They both are nice people, They're just. . ." You hesitated for a moment. "Distant. We don't talk much since they're busy most of the time."
Makoto nodded. "One last thing. . . Why do you have bruises on your hand?"
"Huh?" You said, looking at your hands. You had brusies on your hands, but that weren't all that bad. "Oh, these? I got those because some kids where throwing stuff across my yard for fun. And, while I was lucky in not getting hit, my hands weren't as lucky."
"Oh," Makoto sounded surprised. "Sorry, the brusies worried me. Do you want to stop by the nurse's office?"
"Makoto, they aren't hurting me that badly." You said.
"You sure?" She asked, one final time.
"Yes. It'll go away soon." You said.
And just like that, Makoto let you go for the day.
When you went back to class, you had about 10 minutes before your next class would start. So, you pulled out a book to read. But, Ryuji came over almost as soon as you opened the book.
"When did you get these?" He asked, picking up one of your hands that had brusies all over.
"Some kids where throwing stuff across my yard for fun yesterday and I cleaned it up. But, most of the things I cleaned up was not easy to pick up and move." You told him.
"What did the kids put in your yard?"
"Many different thing, from heavy weights to a toilet." You said.
"The hell." Ryuji sighed, and then let go of your hand. "People these days. Argh, it just makes me wanna---!"
"Want to what, Ryuji?" A girl asked. When you turned, there was Ann. She was eating a package of Jagariko, and Ann sat right smack-dab in the middle of your desk. In the process, taking the book out of your hands.
"Y'know, beat some sense into them! Why the actual hell would people do something like that!?" Ryuji growled.
"I dunno. Maybe she has a really big yard and people use it without asking for permission?" Ann said.
"That doesn't make any sense, either!" Ryuji exclaimed.
"Well, what do you expect? The situation doesn't make any sense." Ann sighed.
"What are you guys talking about?" Another voice said.
That, was Morgana.
Morgana was a small boy, even smaller then Futuba albeit by not that much, but he certainly he a big ego. Probably the biggest one of the group. Morgana had hair like Akira's along with bright blue eyes, and he didn't seem follow the school dress code. He often wore a yellow bandana over his neck, and wore a t-shirt with a crude joke on it.
"Nothing important. Are we ready?" Ann said.
"Ann---" You almost said something, but then the bell rang to dismiss the class.
"Let's go. Come on, let's beat Akira there!" Morgana blurted, as he rushed out of the classroom. With Ryuji tailing him.
Ann, meanwhile stayed behind to help you pack up. And when you two left the classroom, Akira appeared to greet the two of you and followed you both to the roof.
"Ah! Smooth, Akira! Escourtin' two ladies here!" Ryuji teased Akira. Causing Morgana to give a hilarious face of shock and for Akira's face to show a beam of confidence.
He pushed up his glasses and smirked, "Haha. You have much to learn in the ways of gentlemanly attributes, Morgana Velvrule."
"Shut up!" Morgana shot back. "I was-I was just making sure Ryuji doesn't try anything!"
"Hey!" Ryuji exclaimed.
And with that, the door to the roof opened. And out came Makoto and Haru.
"Ah! There you guys are!" Morgana changed the subject. "Come on! I got sushi today!"
Pretty much after lunch, the day went by in a blur. You and Ryuji normally walked home together since the two of you lived not far from one another, but Ryuji said he needed to do something.
Leaving you by yourself to walk home.
"Alright, everyone's here. Ryuji, did (F/N) get home safely?" Morgana asked Ryuji.
"That's what she said." Ryuji said as he went through his text messages, to check if anything had changed from the last time the two of you talked.
"Good, now let's get down to business." Morgana stated. "Makoto, Akechi, is she related to them?"
"No. She said she had never heard those names before. She said her parents are named Hinata and Kasumi, not Aeron and Mara." Makoto said.
"And from what I could tell, she wasn't lying, either." Goro added.
"So, as far as our sources says, she is safe, correct?" Morgana asked.
Futuba nodded. "Yes. She wasn't invited, or on the guest list at all. And, there is no one else who could invite her to it now because of the couple's paranoia. So, chances are high she's way out of the question now."
"Alright. Then, let's move on. We definitely need a plan for infiltrating the place, we will have to do it in advance, am I correct?" Akira tried to confirm from the group.
"Yes, the place is pretty big just from the outside." Goro stated. "I couldn't get too close, but the place was much bigger than it looks, that is for certain."
"So, when can we infiltrate the place? There's so many people there it will be a big problem, and with them on high alert, it makes it much worse." Ryuji stated.
"We'll have to either do it late at night, or when everyone is out of the house." Morgana said.
"So, which one?" Ann asked. "Either works for me."
"Let's do the second one." Haru suggested. "It's just easier for everyone. And, It lessens the chance of being caught."
"Yes, that would be something to prioritize." Yusuke said.
"Are we in agreement, then?" Morgana asked. "Then, now we need to figure out the schedule of the couple and see when out next chance will be."
When the Phantom Thieves had gathered that much information about their target, they had found out the house was normally empty on Saturdays. And this coming Saturday both had meetings to go to, so the chance was wide open to them.
So, they set a date and was ready to infiltrate the targeted place.
Which, this time, was a mansion, and a small house right next to it.
The mansion seemed. . . Overly luxurious, even for a mansion. But despite it being luxurious, the group discovered rooms that weren't as luxurious and where downright gross to be in, or just not great rooms in general.  Futuba, because she wasn't sure what was going on, set up cameras in certain areas, to see the purposes of them are. Then, they went to infiltrate the small house next to the mansion, they found it actually was supposed to be a shed full of tools, parts of many things, and a whole bunch of weapons. But, there was someone living there, because there was food in there, certain electronics that people often had where also present, as well as other signs to show someone was living there.
But. . . The place had no running water, and not that much electricity, either.
So the person who was living there. . . They where not in a good place at all.
All your friends where gone today.
Of course they where, they always do this at least once a month.
And whatever reason may be, they leave you to fend for yourself.  No contacting you til the end of the day. No matter how much texting or calling you do, it doesn't matter. They ignore you until the very end, and then they answer you.
But, you couldn't care less about it now.
Because the disappearances had a pattern to it, making you able to predict when they would disaapear.
The good thing was, no one asked you to pick up homework or classwork this time.
On the night of the heist, Aeron and Mara was hosting a party celebrating the success they have had recently in their business.
Security was tight, and yet. . . It was a masqurade party.
Where no one knew another's face for certain unless they knew before hand.
And the couple had some nerve to think a masqurade party was a good idea, even after getting a calling card.
They either where foolish, or had a trick up their sleeves.
Getting an invitation wasn't to hard, but fitting in was harder with wealthy nobleman among the general population of people. Luckily, everyone had fancy enough outfits to match the outfits of the adults.
Akira was wearing a red suit with a long tailcoat, but the inside of the tailcoat was black. The tailcoat also had two golden buttons to pull the coat together if wanted, and it also had a breast pocket with a fancy white handkerchief sticking out. Akira had a black waistcoat to match the inside of the tailcoat, with a white dress shirt underneath with a white ascot tie with a small blue jewel on it tied around his neck by a black strap, with a pair of black dress shoes, as well. Akira wore a black and red mask, that looked like a regular mask but with large horns coming out the sides of the mask, with two other sharp edges sticking up as well. The mask was mostly black, but there was red across the mask that showed details of a horn. But, it also made a shape of eyelashes on both sides of the lower half of the mask. The mask itself was big enough to cover Akira's forehead.
Morgana was wearing an all black suit, expect on the inside of the tailcoat, which was dark purple. He wore a yellow bow tie instead of a yellow bandana. Morgana also wore brown dress shoes, and he had an actual sword on him. He was using it as a cane but it was an actual foil sword. Morgana had a black mask two dark blue tusks coming out of the mask with a yellow line above the eye slots of the mask, as well as little spots of purple at the top of the mask.
Ryuji was not wearing a full on suit unlike anyone else, but he was wearing black dress pants held up by a black belt with a buckle with a pair of crossed swords on it, a grey dress shirt and a black and red waistcoat, with the front of the coat being black and the backside being red with three faded golden buttons keeping the coat together. Ryuji wore a yellow and blue sailor tie with skulls and crossbones across the tie. As well as a pair of brown loafers and a silver chain with a decoration at the end of the chain. Ryuji also wore a torn-up white cloth as a bracelet on his left wrist. Ryuji's mask was a skull was an eye-patch on the right eye that also had a skull on it. Despite what it looked like, Ryuji could actually see through the eye patch, because that was actually just a special lens Futuba designed for Ryuji, since he was the muscle of the group and sometimes needed to see in the dark.
Ann was wearing a red sleeveless dress with a small pink sash around her waist along with a black stripe at the bottom of the dress with a yellow stripe below the black stripe that was at the bottom of the dress, which went to about over her knees. She wore a pair of black pumps with a red rose as a decoration on the shoe as well as the bottom of her shoe was red instead of black. Ann wore a light pink see-through cloth with dark pink leopard prints on it that she wore around her upper arms. Ann had her nails painted red, and she wore red earrings to match. Ann also wore a black choker with a red heart charm on it, she also had a giant red rose in her hair, which was in raised pigtails. Ann's mask looked like a black cat mask, with pink leopard spots at the top of the mask, the mask also had upside down hearts where the ears where that where a little lighter color of pink than the leopard spots. But around the eyeholes of the mask was a blue stripe on top of the eyeholes and orange stripe on the bottom.
Yusuke wore a suit similar to Akira's, in that he had the same types of clothes on as Akira, but other than that, Yusuke's outfit was very different. Yusuke wore a dark purple tailcoat with a light purple on the inside of the coat, on the coat, there was a red handkerchief in his breast pocket. Yusuke also wore a waistcoat with black symbols that looked like a G, with a white background making the symbol easy to see. Underneath that, Yusuke wore a light blue dress shirt, he also wore a white and purple tie. Yusuke wore a pair of white dress pants and a pair of dark brown dress shoes. Yusuke had a white cane on him, with a golden fish on it as a decoration, but it also had a golden tip on the end of the cane as well. Yusuke's mask was light blue on the furthest left and right sides of the mask but then was cut off by a red stripe which then had white until it it went up to the eyeholes of the mask which had a redish-purple around the eyeholes. On top of the eye hole was purple. But, the mask itself was shaped much differently than most masks. It was cut off so you could see a person's nose, not the top of the nose but the sides of the nose, close to the eyelids and around the mouth. But, covered everything else.
Makoto wore a long dark blue illusion dress that went to the floor. The illusion dress held the dress up around her shoulders but had no decorations on it. Makoto wore a silver diamond dance belt around her waist that had no jewels on it, but instead was empty. Makoto also wore a pair of cream white ankle strap heels underneath the dress, that could be seen thanks to a slit in the dress on the left side of the dress. Makoto also wore a long silver cuff bracelet on her right arm, and Ann had helped her paint her nails dark blue to match the dress. She also wore a simple black headband. Makoto's mask was a light blue that covered her face and had a pattern of woman with closed eyes under a protective screen or something along those lines. It also had more lining on the sides of the mask to make the mask bigger on her face.
Futuba wore a loose black sleeveless dress with a line of cloth across her shoulders, a line of cloth as a replacement for the absence of the sleeves. Near the middle and the bottom of her skirt and the cloth acting as sleeves had strange light green symbols all over those areas. From numbers, lines, shapes, and who knows what else was on that dress. At the end of the dress was an aquamarine lace, or, that's what it looked like, around Futuba's waist was a design that matched the other symbols that was on the dress. Ann had painted Futuba's nails a light green to match the symbols on her dress. But, other than that, the other decoration Futuba had was a small black hat on her head with similar symbols as on the dress, and a faded green bow to add the the hat. Futuba wore a pair of black platform pumps with ankle straps with light green heels that made Futuba look tall, but it must have hurt to walk in. Futuba's mask was black and looked like a bat's wings with horns coming out the top of the mask. But, it seemed modified so it could cover the fact Futuba wears glasses.
Haru was wearing a sleeveless pink ball gown that went down to her knees, with more of the dress lower than that which went to about just above her ankles. Around Haru's chest, the pink was actually a very dark pink that had decoration on it. But, there was a light pink veil over the dark pink upper part of the dress that was covered in decorations of flowers and other things, but, at the top of the veil was a string of golden flower decorations that connected the veil to the dress and wrapped around Haru. At Haru's waist was a small white bow wrapped around the waist. Around the bottom part of the dress was also pink veil that had lacy at the bottom. Haru had light pink nails painted thanks to the help of Ann and she wore gold bracelets on her left wrist, as well as golden earrings with light pink jewels on it. Haru wore a pair of black flats with gold lining on the edge of the shoes around the foot. Haru's mask was on a stick on the right side of the mask, like traditional masquerade mask, which was pink with gold lining on the edge of the mask with lines coming off the the lines. Around eye hole was also gold lining that looked like eyelashes. But, on the right side was a blue flower and a little orange cloth at the bottom at the flower.
Goro's suit was mostly white. His tailcoat, white dress shirt, his dress pants, his gloves, even his dress shoes were white. His tailcoat had golden lining along the lines of the coat, including the sleeves. The inside of that coat was a dark blue, and in his breast pocket was a blue handkerchief. Goro wore a grey waistcoat with golden buttons, as well as a red ascot tie held up by a golden band. Goro had a mask that was somewhat similar to Yusuke's, in that it wasn't a mask you would see everyday. The top of the mask above th eyeholes was red, while right below the eye hole was a small amount of grey, while everything else was gold. Unlike Yusuke's, the mask covered most of Goro's face, minus the mouth and right underneath the nose. But, on the left and right sides of the mask was something that looked like fins. Golden fins, but it looked somewhat odd on the mask.
The couple had hosted the party in a section of the house that was the kitchen, the living room, the gaming room, a movie theater and a few rooms around there. The house was well decorated with many flowers, banners, and other decorations pertaining to a theme of a masquerade party. The colors most present was blue, green, and brown. Which happened to be the colors of the company Aeron and Mara founded and are the current CEOs of. The food seemed to be mostly desserts and filling. Not actually suited for a meal. The couple heavily encouraged the guests to take as much as they want since the chef made a lot more than expected. Most of the crowd was in the living room, and among the crowd was undercover officers, because the couple asked for them to be there. Which is how Goro got into the party with Makoto, because she claimed Sae wouldn't be able to come tonight due to another case she needed to take care of. Haru was invited to the party because of her status as a wealthy woman. Everyone else had made up names as wealthy people or people of status.
The group had decided to hide Futuba and the escape car on the back of the property close to the house, to make it look inconspicuous. As a bonus, there was no security back there and the couple seemed to let no one back there. The car itself was a black Citroën H Van, that was painted to look like any other car. While Futuba was left by herself, the rest of the group went to split up and search the house for money, jewels, whatever they could find. Well, Yusuke and Ryuji was taking a whole bunch of food from the buffet. And when Ann found out what the boys where doing, she snuck some, too.
But then, something happened the group didn't expect.
Someone noticed the car and went to investigate.
Which shocked the team when Futuba heard someone coming her way. And everyone started to panic.
"Oracle, hide!" Ann said.
"Oracle, you need to leave, right now!" Ryuji said. "Forget us! If you get caught, you're dead meat!"
Futuba panicked even more as she tried to hide her things, and then a door opened. Which caused Futuba to jump to the back of the car.
"Whose here?! I know someone's---!" A voice called.
Then a buzzing noise was heard and then something fell.
"Geez. Who the heck does something like this?" A female voice sighed. "What a creep. He must have tried to take another child into their Ring, or tried to rape them, disgusting."
The Ring?
What was she talking about?
"Hello? Is anyone here? I promise I won't hurt you!" The female voice called. "I'll help you get out!"
Futuba then popped her head out from the backseat. When she did, she saw a man wearing a security guard outfit slumped over and a girl looking throughout the car.
The girl wore an old cream colored Komarov Drape Chiffon dress that looked quite nice on her. She wore a basic white mask that was shaped in the form of a crescent moon. But the girl was also covered on bruises and cuts, or that's what it looked like. When the girl saw Futuba, she spread her arms.
"I promise I won't hurt you. I can help you." She said. "It's okay."
Futuba then ducked back into the seat and popped on her mask on. And then said into her earpiece, "I'm turning off my ear piece. My situation was taken an odd turn." And then turned off her eyepiece.
And then Futuba got up, and walked towards the girl.
When Futuba got to the girl, the girl moved the man into the outside of the car.
"Are you okay?" The girl asked.
Futuba nodded.
"Can you come with me? We need to get you away from the car. It's better that way, right?"
Futuba nodded again.
The girl lead Futuba into the small house, and into the living room of the house, which was just an empty room filled with junk and an old couch. The girl sat Futuba down on the couch. The room was somewhat dark thanks to it being dark outside, but there was a small lamp that the girl brought over.
She also brought a pencil and sheet of paper.
The girl brought a small plate of food for Futuba, that mainly seemed to be a type of meatloaf.
Not long after the two appeared, a black dog appeared and started growling at Futuba from the girl's side. But the girl tried to shush the dog with,
"It's okay, it's okay. She's won't hurt you. She's lost, too."
And not long after the dog stopped growling at Futuba, instead seemed to try and comfort Futuba too by rubbing againist her arms and surrounding her back.
"Can you tell me your name? Where you're from?" The girl asked.
Futuba became nervous now. She either needed to think of something fast, or get out of there.
But Futuba was smart. She picked up the piece of paper and wrote a fake name and then showed it to the girl.
"Your name is Hamuko, is that right? Where are you from?"
Futuba wrote down the first place she caught think of. Akihabara.
"Around Akihabara? That's pretty far from here. But, can you speak? It's much easier than writing everything down."
Futuba shook her head. And then wrote down an excuse: She had really bad social anxiety and she couldn't speak with strangers unless it was by paper.
"Social anxiety, huh? Alright. That's a good excuse." The girl sighed. "Tell me what happened to you when you got kidnapped by those guys."
Kidnapped?
Wait, the couple also had a kidnapping ring?
Is that what she was talking about?
Futuba wrote down a method they had used to kidnap people: Using chloroform.
"You think so? Well, it's not unlikely for them to do that. Are you okay? Does your head hurt or anything?"
Futuba shook her head.
"That's good. . . Wait, why are you wearing a dress? Are---?"
Futuba then immediately scribbled down something that went like: My family was going to go to a party. But I got separated from them and then those guys showed up.
"Really. That's pretty interesting to happen on tonight, of all nights. But no matter. Where from Akihabara are you from? Can you use my cell phone to call your parents?"
Futuba nodded.
The girl then handed over a cell phone.
It was hard to see what the phone looked like in the dark, but Futuba used it to call a group of numbers:
The number for the Phantom Thieves.
Inside the mansion, eight phones went off. Goro and Makoto asked to be excused to take the call, while everyone else simply just picked up the phone from where they were.
Futuba spoke first, "Hi, guys."
"Oracle! Are you alright?" Akira asked her.
"Yes, I'm okay. I'm. . ." Then Futuba asked the girl where she was.
"Over by the (L/N) estate. Not far from Sibuya." The girl said.
". . . By the (L/N) estate. By the back of the mansion, I think."
"Oracle, are you in that house? Does someone live there?" Morgana asked.
"Yes." Futuba responded.
"Who? Do you know?" Makoto asked.
"I don't. But she's nice and has a nice dog." Futuba said.
"Alright. She's not hostile? Can we come and you're sure she won't tell anyone?" Ryuji asked.
"I think so." Futuba responded.
"Then, we're on our way." Akira said, as everyone hung up.
"Is someone coming?" The girl asked.
Futuba nodded, and wrote down something.
The Phantom Thieves are coming.
"What? But, I'm pretty sure they don't do that sort of thing." The girl said.
Futuba shook her head. And then wrote down: Well, this is an exception.
"An exception? What on earth does that---"
And then, a door creaking was heard through the house.
And into the living room came eight people, each with different outfits and masks covering there faces, making it hard to tell who the people were.
One of boys, the one wearing the black mask kneeled before the girl and took one of her hands and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her right hand. While Futuba went to everyone else who asked if she was alright and what had happened.
The dog, simply stood up from where he was and went to the girl's side, as if to protect her.
"Thank you, my dear." Akira said, "You have protected our Oracle from certain danger, and all of us are thankful to you for that."
"Huh? Oracle? But---" She was about to say.
"Shh." Akira said, putting a finger againist her lips after he had stood up. "Tell nobody what happened, and we will spare you the trouble of the police."
The girl simply nodded. Then, the others turned to leave.
"There's my girl. I bid you a good evening, we will meet again." Akira said, after placing a quick kiss on the girl's cream colored mask. "And if you don't mind, we will take the car from your hands and that man on the gravel is coming with us."
The girl simply nodded again.
And then, the Phantom Thieves disappeared into the night.
After that close call, the group decided to check up on you. But, you didn't answer and group figured out why. It was almost one in the morning.
They each left a message saying how sorry they were for leaving you, and how they would make it up to you.
When you woke up, you made breakfast for yourself and put on your uniform and went to school. On your way there, you bumped into Ryuji.
"(Y/N)! Hey!" He called as you turned around.
"Good morning Ryuji." You said.
"Where you okay last night?" He asked.
"Huh? Yeah, I was. I did homework and went to bed early. Why?"
"That's good. . . Where you. . . Lonely?"
"Huh? Why would I be? You guys didn't do anything without me, did you?" You teased.
"What?! Hell no! Why the hell would we do that?!" Ryuji exclaimed.
You giggled a little.
"Hey! Don't scare me with that shit! That actually scared me!"  Ryuji sighed.
"Pfft. You sure?" You asked him.
"Hell yeah I'm sure!" He said. "Nevermind. Forget it."
You giggled again as the two of you bumped into Akira and Ann.
The day passed by faster than the group had expected.
When the time came for lunch, your friends packed up and lead you out of the school. But you stopped before you could leave the gates.
"Where are we going?" You asked.
Everyone seemed to stop with confused faces. Then, Ann made an "Oh!" noise and went to you.
"I forgot. Goro wanted to eat lunch with everyone today! I was suppose to tell you last night, but I forgot." She wrapped an arm around your shoulder.
"Why today?" You asked.
"He said he had a scary interview coming up, and he needs something to calm his nerves." Makoto stated. "So, he wanted to invite everyone over to the TV station to a company him."
"Even Futuba?" You asked Makoto.
Makoto nodded. "We're going to go get her. After we go get Yusuke."
"But if we do that, we'll---!" You exclaimed.
"Get in trouble? No, not really. Not if we have Akechi give us an excuse." Akira said.
"But---" You protested.
"We'll be fine." Haru said. "Let's just have fun today. Is that okay (Y/N)?"
You sighed. "I guess."
"Yay!" Ann said.
And the six of you went to find your others members of the group.
After you had picked up everyone, your group headed towards the TV station.
Oddly enough, Goro was waiting outside and he escorted everyone into a back room to reveal a spread of seafood. From traditional sushi to cooked fish. It looked like almost every types of fish was here.
"Thanks for the food!" Morgana said, as he ran for the sushi.
"Hey, you better not eat everything!" Ryuji said.
"Then get over here eat something before I eat everything!" Morgana shot back.
And just like that, lunch started.
Goro had treated everyone to lunch, and after everyone gave him some encouragement to do his interview, escorted everyone out of the building.
And when you guys got back to school the day was almost over. So, everyone had just decided to go home for the day.
But then Futuba asked everyone to come over for dinner at Leblanc. Which everyone agreed to doing. Even after everyone had lunch together, it seems nobody could deny the wonderful food that.
Goro arrived first.
Ryuji arrived next with Yusuke right behind him.
Ann came not long after.
Then Makoto and Haru came in.
And lastly, you came in.
Sojiro Sakura closed up shop early that day and explained he had much more ingredients for more curry and coffee than he needed, and Futuba said they could get rid of it if they invite everyone over for dinner.
So, here everyone was.
Later, everyone moved upstairs since everyone had plenty of time before it got dark.
But then your phone went off and you went to take it, since it was from someone you knew.
"Hey, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Sojiro asked you. "AKIRA! CALL TAKEMI!"
"Sojiro? What's the matter---? (Y/N)!" Ann yelled at you. "Oh my God! Call an doctor! Hurry!"
The Phantom Thieves had flipped their shit.
You had passed out in the middle of Leblanc.
When Takemi came to check you out, she said you didn't look physically unheathly but there was something going on, so you must have passed out due to stress, or maybe getting stress relief, she said.
But it was clear that you must have been dealing with something stressful rather than something physical.
Tae recommended that you stay here for the night since she wasn't sure when you would wake up, and you were mostly okay to do so.
The person who had called you had hung up, and the person you had talked to was your mother. When they tried to call her to tell her what had happened, she wouldn't pick up.
So, Akira picked you up and carried you to the couch upstairs and wrapped a blanket around you. Everyone gathered around you and whispered to one another.
"What happened?" Futuba asked. "Did something happen in her family? Did her family get death threat because people think she's in that family?"
"Who knows." Ann sighed. "Hopefully she didn't get a death threat."
"Whatever it is, it definitely is causing her problems." Goro said.
"Whatever happened, we'll need to keep an eye on her." Makoto said. "We can't let that happen again."
"You're right." Akira said. "We'll need to keep an eye on her from now on."
When you woke up, you remembered what happened last night but then. . .
"Am I sick?" You asked yourself, and then sighed. "Well, whatever. What time is it?"
You didn't see a clock in the room you were in, so you got up from where you were, to find you were in Akira's room, but Akira was nowhere to be found.
So, you went downstairs to the café Leblanc to find there was some costumers there, but Sojiro was tending the shop. Sojiro seemed to notice you first before any costumers did and gestured you come over to him. You did, and Sojiro had explained what happened last night.
You had passed out, and the doctor said you should get some rest today since whatever caused you to pass out wasn't physical, rather psychological. Since it was about lunch time, there was no reason to send you now. So, instead he asked you to go over to his house for the day. You simply nodded, and followed the direction he gave you to his house. When you got there, Futuba seemed more than happy to let you stay over for the day. Everyone not long after checked on you to make sure you were okay.
Futuba mostly stayed on her computer most of the day while you were charging your phone and relaxing on Futuba's bed. But, Futuba did once in a while go to you and stay close to you for a little while. She wouldn't cuddle or anything, she'd just stay close by, like she would nap beside you. From what you saw, Futuba was very smart with computers and technology in general, like everyone had described she was like. There was a lot of things around her about cognitive pscience, which you didn't get, but you didn't quite care then since you were distracted by your phone most of the day.
When school was out, everyone stopped by to check on you. Ann practically tackled you with a hug, with Ryuji in second place of doing that and Morgana right after. Makoto, Yusuke and Haru asked you many times if you were sure you were okay. And Akira. . . Well, refused to leave your side for a while. He wasn't clinging to you, but he wouldn't leave you be. Goro almost seemed to do the same thing.
But after a few hours, everyone allowed you to go home.
And, they seemed like they needed to do something, so you left them to do whatever they needed to do.
The group of teenagers let you leave to go home, and then they went over to the Leblanc attic to discuss what had happened a few nights before.
"So, Futuba got saved by the owner of that house, is that right?" Ann asked.
"Yes. And it seems she knew something was up with the couple. She said they had a kidnapping ring." Futuba answered.
"They have a Ring? And they kidnap people? For what?" Haru asked.
"It could be those two are even worse then we thought. We'll need to do more investigating to find out why." Goro said.
"Do you think they have a drug ring or something?" Morgana asked.
"No. It sounds more likely they have slave ring." Goro answered
"What?!" Ryuji said. "For real?! That's effed up!"
"But it makes sense if that's why that girl was trying to get Futuba out of the area as soon as possible." Goro said. "But, why would they need one? It doesn't make sense, the couple is well-off, have good social status, so, why would they need slaves?"
"Because they're insane. Nobody would do that to another person these days unless they are truly horrible people. And from what it sounds like, the Ring has been around for a while. So, it's not new, which annoys me even further." Yusuke answered.
"Maybe. But we need to look more into the couple because of this, otherwise they won't repent for all of their crimes." Makoto said.
"So, we need to plan another infiltration, am I right?" Akira said. "It seems (Y/N) will have to wait a little longer for us, huh?"
A few days later, the group infiltrated the mansion again. This time, finding people locked up in prisons who told them they had been kidnapped and forced into doing very horrible things. From killing people, to prostituting themselves so the couple could get information about certain things.
But, there was something strange.
Almost every single person said the couple had a child, and they needed to get the child out of that house, but when asked why they needed to, they couldn't give a clear answer.
When investigating the area, there was no sign that the couple even had a child. No photos on the walls, no signs of another decent bedroom, or even a way for more people to live in the mansion that wasn't inhumane. They even checked the house, but nobody was there. Not even the dog was there.
When everyone went back to school the next day, you where absent. Ryuji asked his homeroom teacer if you where here yesterday, but Ryuji only got back an ominous answer.
"Yes, she even came to school early. But, she said she wouldn't be at school for some time because of very serious family problems. I wonder if her family's been getting death threats and she can't come to school because of how scared the family is."
When the group met up, Ryuji told them the ominous news.
And this scared the heck out of them.
This caused the group to try to contact you.
To no avail.
Now, they where all sure something was up.
There was no mistaking it.
Something was definatly going on here.
But, what was it?
What was going on here?
Now that the dear friend of the Phantom Thieves was missing, it wasn't hard to tell the group was. . . Upset and. . . Angry.
They wanted an answer to what was going on.
And more importantly, they wanted their precious ray of sunshine back.
They wanted you back with them.
You were a reason to live on to them.
Now that you were gone, there was something missing within the group.
Their hopes for a brighter future that they would create for you and the rest of the world to enjoy. It seemed. . . To be duller without you in it.
Their personal healer for when they were about to fall down or die. Your pleas and cries for their safety you would say before mission would bring them back home safely.
Their personal cheerleader when things got tough during missions. Your cheers and encouragement would bring hope and vigor into each move the group made when they fought.
But you were gone now.
You where stuck and couldn't give the Phantom Thieves the courage to go on before a mission.
You were unable to help your friends do their job.
And now, the couple was going to pay.
They where going to pay for forcing your family to hide you from the world to protect you from the dangers of this harsh world.
And taking you away from the safety they had you under.
But upon more research and sneaking around, they found the answer to their question.
And you, in the process.
Aeron and Mara held another party that month.
This was because they thought they had won againist the Phantom Thieves.
But, the Phantom Thieves to ruin their reputation in gruesome way.
Even more cruel than the couple had been.
The night of the party, the preparations were set in place, and the time was almost right.
Everything was set.
"Alright, are we ready?" Akira asked the group. "Then let's wipe these two out."
"Alright!" Aeron and Mara spoke through the microphones they had in their hands. "Let's party all night til the sun comes up!"
The crowd of drunken corrupted people cheered.
"Oh? At the expense of who this time?" A voice spoke from the speakers. "Is it your workers? Or your daughter?"
"What?! Who said that?!" Aeron spoke.
"You know full well who. After all, the party is at our expense." Akira spoke as he walked to the stage, as the crowd looked at the area around them.
Even though the group was already here.
"Well, that's what it is for, is it not? Or is it for your daughter's murder at your hands?" Goro spoke, with disappointment in his voice.
"Daughter?! We don't have one! You're a liar!" Mara yelled into the group of people.
"Are you sure? Then, tell me, who is this?" Akira stopped walking to the stage.
And then, a screen appeared behind the two.
And, a video played.
The video seemed to be in the kitchen of the house, with Aeron and Mara in the shot, with a girl covered in blood and bruises on the floor. At the moment, it was hard to tell what the girl is doing. But it was clear what the couple was doing. Both had knifs in their hands, and cups of white crystals as well.
"You worthless bitch! How many times do I have to say it?! Your life is meaningless without your servitude to your parents! Children are useless unless they serve their parents!" Mara said, stepping on the girl.
The girl let out a blood-curdling scream in response. The scream rang loud and clear in the room. And, caused some people to jump back in suprise.
"NO! MOTHER, PLEASE, STOP!" The girl begged, but instead she was kicked in the stomach from Aeron. Causing blood to splatter all over the kitchen floor, as well as the appliances.
In response, some people screamed and gasped in horror. As, the video hid nothing as to what happened to the girl.
"And why would we do that?" He said. "You've broken our rules. And we cannot let you live because of it. It is justice, after all."
And then, the couple sprinkled the white powder on the girl, and she let out an even louder scream than before. Making clear what that white powder was.
Salt.
"Ha! Scream louder, and maybe we'll call an ambulance! But, that would be a problem, wouldn't it?" Mara said, as she stepped on the girl.
"Ah! Who cares?! She'll never be able to call for help now! And, if we say to the police she tried to kill herself, they won't know the difference! The police are fools, anyways!" Aeron replied.
The girl then seemed to have died, because she then fell to the floor, motionless.
When the video cut out, some people passed out. Others threw up, and the rest seemed paralyzed in horror.
All but nine people.
When the video finished, the nine people walked to the stage. Causing Aeron and Mara to take a fearful step back.
Akira got up first. He immendiately ran up to the couple, and knocked them down by kicking their kneecaps.
"You're going to pay dearly for killing her. And you're going to know the exact same fear (Y/N) knew every single time you beat her." Akira growled at the couple.
"No! Please! HAVE MERCY!!" Mara screamed at him.
"Why would we give you that?" Ryuji asked them, as he raised his bat.
"You both are pathetic lowlifes who don't deserve to see the light of day." Makoto said. Pulling out her brass knuckles.
"Parents are suppose to help their children. But neither of you have done that from the start, Hinata and Kasumi (L/N). So, you have failed as parents, and as humans!" Ann growled at them. As she readied her whip.
"Therefore, you will never see the light of day again!" Yusuke growled, as the group charged at the couple.
According to the news report, the (L/N) mansion was found to be trapped full of terrified people claiming Aeron and Mara (L/N) had murder their own child.
When the police investigated, they found more people in horrible conditions claiming they had been kidnapped and forced into slave labor.
And, they found a calling card from the Phantom Thieves that was a month old.
But, police did not mention anything about the child, exept she was in critical condition in the hospital.
You. . . Could hear them.
They were to calling you.
Your friends where right at your hospital bed, crying, begging, and praying you would live that horrible event.
And, you could hear them.
They each called you, by name, to wake up.
And you could feel them.
They where here!
You could feel their bodies hugging you, shaking your body in effort to wake you up.
You wanted to go back now.
You wanted to see them.
Move! Come on, move!
When you were able to open up your eyes, there were wires and machines everywhere around you. The room was mostly white, brown and green, with the machinery being grey. The room was modestly big, and there was a window to your right. You stood up to look out the window when suddenly you heard a door open.
When you turned, there was a doctor standing in the doorway, who looked stunned. Then, the doctor cautiously walked towards you. "Miss (Y/N)?"
You nodded at her, "Yeah, what is it?"
The doctor then turned around and said to you, "Stay here a moment okay? There's people who need to see you."
And then she left the room.
Not long after, you heard yelling in the hallways and footsteps rushing in your direction. And not long after people came rushing into your room. With cameras and microphones and bright lights.
Oh no.
It's the press.
"Miss (Y/N)! You're awake! Tell us what happened!" One person shouted.
"Yes, yes! Is it true you were abused by your parents?" Another said.
Before they started flooding you with questions and bright lights all around you, when you tried to block the lights so you could see, another light came and and blinded you once again. And when you tried to move your arms to block the bright lights, the wires on your arms stopped you.
Then you heard more footsteps coming your way and then you heard,
"Can't you all have some decency?! Get out!" You heard a familiar voice yelled at the press.
And there stood Goro Akechi.
But. . . Something had changed about Goro.
For one, his hair was shorter than the last time you saw him. He wasn't wearing his tan peacoat, instead he wore a dress shirt with his black and white tie with black pants and shoes. And. . . Something about him was different. You couldn't tell what exactly was different right then and there. But something had changed about him.
Goro cleared the room of the press by kicking them out and slamming the door on them and then turned to you.
And then, he smiled.
That's what was different.
His smile seemed genuine and real now. Like he had dropped heavy baggage off of his back while you were gone.
He walked over to your bedside and sat on your bed. He reached out one of his hands and placed it on you left cheek.
"It's been so long. I missed you so much, (Y/N)." He said.
"What do you mean?" You asked him.
Goro hesitated at that. "It's been almost a year since you almost died."
Goro explained what had happened over this past year. Akira's now permanently moved in with Futuba and Sojiro Sakura, with Morgana as well, Ryuji's now less of a delinquent and Ann's become famous fashion model now, Yusuke has become a famous professional and street artist, Makoto's an intern at the police station while in college, Haru's taken over her father's company and your familes as well, and he's in college and doing well at his job. As well as the Phantom Thieves were still alive and kicking.
"I'm so glad." You said, as you started to cry, "That everyone's doing alright after all this time."
Goro seemed to jump at the sight of you crying. "Of course we are. After all, we're not giving up on you now that you're back."
It took you some time, but you where released from the hospital and adjusted back to your normal life.
And this time, knowing there was a group watching over you.

Omg the angel demon with human s/o is so precious. Could I perhaps ask for more. Like kazuichi chiaki mondo makoto kyoko miu junko maki and kaede? Same situation you can pick who is a demon and who is a angel. Please and thank you!
To be honest I don't have much ideas for the whole thing but here it is! Also my biggest apologies but I don't write for Junko.
Tumblr media
Demon/Angel! Kazuichi Chiaki Mondo Makoto Kyoko Miu Maki and Kaede with human!S/O
Kazuichi Souda (Demon)
He wasn't into terrorizing and killing mortals since he couldn't give a damn.
What Kazuichi rathers is to repair stuff. He is hiding as a mechanic in mortals world and sometimes uses his powers so someone whould use his service.
Kazuichi felt like he didn't belong in hell
That's how he got to meet you. Your scooter broke and you couldn't repair it yourself so you called him since he was one of the best mechanics around and his services were quite cheap.
When he spotted you he asked what you needed. He was quite nice and admired your scooter.
It turns out that nothing too big happened and it took him less than an hour to do it.
After you payed you noticed that he was making something himself. It looked like a from skratch made scooter.
You asked him about it and you started a conversation. He wanted to give it to a friend. How considerate of him to give his friend such a present.
The two of you started to talk more often since you enjoyed talking to each other.
With time he told you that he was actually a demon. He thought you whould run. But you never did.
He was very surprised you still hung out with him. After some time he thought that he might be in love with you.
Kazuichi didn't hesitate to say it. After he confirmed for himself that he in fact had those feelings for you.
You felt the same and so you became a couple. He was very affectionate. You also helped him out very often in his garage.
Chiaki Nanami (Angel)
She gave people hope and determination when they needed it.
She liked to spend time in arcade since there the hope is mostly needed. And it's definitely not becouse she likes to play too.
Chiaki was very good and it caught your attention. You admired the way she played and so she started a conversation with you. It was cuz you were staring at her for quite a while.
She was very nice to you and offered to play together. It was very fair match and so you hung out in this arcane often.
You catched yourself having feelings for her but you denied it. She also felt somewhat romantic towards you.
When you found out her secret you were very surprised. But it kinda made sense. Then you realized how dumb you were to fall for her.
Still you had to get it off your chest. As you were prepared for rejection she had her calm smile and said about her feelings for you.
Your eyes widen as she in fact loved you back. That's when you started dating. Your relationship didn't change much but with time you were more and more affectionate.
Mondo Oowada (Demon)
His personality isn't any different. His job as demon is mostly terrorizing humans. Not killing just scaring shit out of them. He felt pretty bad for it though.
Well he kept it going for the sake of an old friend who just disappeared. They were kinda like human brothers.
When he saw you he was about to poses something nearby and scare the shit out of you. But he couldn't do it. Whenever he looked at you he felt weak...
He denied it but there was something about you he wanted to see you for himself. He just observed you from far distance.
He didn't knew why but there was something about you... He investigated further since the feeling he felt whenever seeing you made his powers weak. And damn he hated feeling weak or helpless...
When he finally build enough courage to talk with you (when there was right opportunity) he was very impressed by you. Later on he talked often with you.
He knew he should have stopped but when he didn't see you face to face he felt very distracted and catched himself thinking about you...
Wait what if he fell for you? Was it okay to have this kind of feelings for you? Sure he probably was just imagining this. Or this was more of an excuse...
He knew what he felt was love but it made no sense for him. He was very troubled. But he made up his mind and wanted to tell you.
Ready for rejection he told you how he felt. He was extremely nervous and ended up yelling at you.
But you got the context of the message. He was very surprised when you said that you liked him too with that adorable smile of yours.
He was caught off guard but he told you about his true identity. It didn't change the way you looked at him.
When you made it official you had quite cute relationship. Mondo allways got mad quite easy in human world but you allways managed to calm him down. He is very protective of you.
Makoto Naegi (Angel)
He was a normal angel. He protected humans from demons. And gave guidance for those who were lost.
He wasn't "Visiting" often but it changed after he saw you. He looked after you and allways was there to help you out.
You got quite suspicious of him. So you asked him why he allways helped you out. He tried to think of an excuse but he couldn't lie and said that when he saw you he wanted to approach you but didn't knew how and it ended up in him kind of stalking you.
You didn't expect something like this but you decided to give him a chance. Turns out that he was very nice.
He accidentally said that he was an angel. You thought at first he was joking but he showed you his wings as there was no turning back. This ansvered few things but becouse of that more questions were now haunting you.
He allways found time for you. Makoto was just so nice and he allways made sure you smiled. This made things even worse as you fell in love with him.
You couldn't stop thinking about it. He seemed too perfect and it made sense.
One day he decided to tell you something quite important wich was- he likes you. You couldn't believe your ears... It was a joke right?
Nope it wasn't! And the two of you started dating. It was very akward... But still lovely. You were supportive of each other and allways had a great time together.
Kyoko Kirigiri (Angel)
Her job was to chase down demons and protect humans. She was very professional and quiet and her methods are still unknown.
She sensed one demon trying to possess you. The demon was around you for a very long time. As they tried to make a move Kyoko quickly vanished it with grace. You saw a hunted soul fly near you and you were hella impressed.
For humans Kyoko is well known exorcist. So you were very surprised to see her and she even saved you!
You thanked her a lot and tried to pay her for her services. She refused to take that money. Then she just left...
You saw each other few times later and each time you didn't talk. Still you wished you did...
With time you decided to talk with her. She was taken off guard but luckily demons aren't on every corner and she doesn't have to fight them every second. You didn't knew how to start a conversation but Kyoko decided to start it herself.
You had very pleasant talk and the two of you kept in contact. Still she never told you about her identity but she was quite mysterious.
Witch each day she got more quiet. It was becouse she liked you but she didn't wanted to admit it yet.
Well sooner or later she had to confess at least about her identity. She felt bad that you didn't knew.
Some things made sense because of it. But then she decided to not hide her feelings anymore.
Your relationship at the beginning was more platonic than romantic but it didn't take long until you two got affectionate.
Miu Iruma (Demon)
Of course she was a Demon of Lust. It didn't effect her personality even a bit.
Still you didn't meet cuz she targeted you. You two met becouse you noticed her building something rather impressive.
She was flustered by sudden praise but then she quickly started explaining it to you. Her explanation was very detailed. She said during an explanation that she was a Demon. It wasn't intentional.
You were scared a little bit but it didn't change the fact that she was amazing. Tho something in your head wants you to stay as far away as possible you couldn't stop hanging out with her.
Miu didn't mind as she did like a platonic company. Still she was thinking about you in a romantic manner.
You liked her too! But she was a Demon so you thought there was no sense in telling her. So she was the one to confess.
She was very stressed while saying it but you were just so happy!
Your relationship was very affectionate and she was so glad that she met you.
Maki Harukawa (Fallen angel)
She was often killing mortals and she was great at it that mostly those who she killed have status "Missing" and not "Dead" since there was no body to be found. This brought hope just to be crushed by the despair of failure.
She got blackmailed by demons. They whould kill thousands of kids if she didn't do it... At least demons ordered her to kill much less.
When it was over she decided to live in human world so she just left and never killed anyone again.
Maki hated killing innocent people but she did it to save others...
When she met you it was an accident. She was just walking around aimlessly when you were getting attacked by a mugger. She acted fast as she pushed them away from you. After that she fought the mugger and they ran away.
You were very thankful and she just shrugged it off. And you tried to pay it off somehow. But she didn't wanted anything from you. Yet you convinced her.
The two of you went to a bakery and you bought her a cake of her choice. After that you spend some time together. It just happened and Maki enjoyed your company.
Later on you decided to hang out more often. You spent a lot of time together and ended up having a crush on each other. Maki was rather confused by the feeling while you were quite happy.
Time passed and you confessed. She was very surprised but happy at the same time. She then felt a bit guilty and thought that she needs to tell you the truth.
You were shocked but... After all she didn't kill on her own free will. Inside she was still good... You thought.
You loved Maki so you decided to accept the bitter truth. As for your relationship it was very healthy and comforting.
Kaede Akamatsu (Angel)
She was giving inspiration to humans when they needed it. Not only that determination was something important too!
Kaede just wished everyone lived in some kind of utopia and those who were lost and became evil found path towards redemption.
She still was very often visiting human world she loved playing piano. But of course she did not gain any fame. Still you were hearing her play quite often.
So far she never noticed your presence but one day you were bit less sneaky. Smiling she asked for your name as she greeted you.
You started smaller conversation with her. She was surprised why were you hiding. Your response was kinda obvious wich was to not distract her from playing.
The two of you became great friends Kaede was teaching you how to play piano even!
She was so beautiful so nice and around her there was allways positive aura. Kaede was just perfect and you must admit to yourself that you do have a crush on her. While Kaede was very troubled she didn't knew if it was good for her to have feelings for mortal. But there was something about you that she never stopped thinking about.
You knew each other for quite a while and still you couldn't stop thinking about her. You decided to tell her how you feel.
She was quite surprised but she was looking down. You probably knew where this was going... Rejection. Or so you thought. Kaede said about her being an angel wich made sense after all she was perfect. That's why she was hesitant. But you decided to leave this choice to her. Needless to say she picked you.
You could allways count on Kaede. She loved you very deeply and delivered quite a lot of affection.

for @paigyloli for the @makoharuflowerexchange!! Thank you to the mods for running this, and I hope you like your gift! ^-^
Flower: Peppermint, symbolizing fidelity and protection from illness.
read here on ao3!
“Let me pass, please.”
“Haru is not to be disturbed,” said the young man standing in the doorway, looking up at Makoto in a mixture of exasperation and pity. “Master Tachibana, he must rest if he is to get well―”
“Please,” begged Makoto, brandishing a bundle of sweet-smelling mint at him. “Please, Rei. I need to see him. Just once, before I go.”
“Go?” asked Rei, frowning. “Where are you going?”
“I―somewhere. Just, please―”
“Rei,” came a soft voice from somewhere over the manservant’s shoulder, followed by a hacking cough that sent an ache through Makoto’s own chest. “Rei, it’s all right. Let him in.”
“But Haru, you…”
“Have the strength for him, always.” The voice paused. “Makoto, sweetheart, come in.”
Rei stepped aside and waved Makoto past, letting himself out into the corridor before shutting the door behind him. Makoto was left alone just beyond the threshold, clutching his bundle of mint in worry as he saw his liege’s face―white and waxy where his cheeks were once pinker than fresh-cut blushroses, and thin as if he had not eaten for days.
For all Makoto knew, he hadn’t.
“Haru,” he breathed, stumbling the last few steps to the bed and sitting at the prince’s feet. “I―I’m here.”
“So you are,” hummed his friend, breathing the ghost of a laugh as he reached for Makoto’s hands. His eyes were still the same, Makoto thought: long-lashed and blue and clear like the sea at sunrise, blissfully tranquil and as much a source of comfort as they had been in Makoto’s childhood long ago. “With peppermint, too.”
“Oh!” he said, laying the sprigs of mint at Haru’s knee. “These were the best I found this morning, so I cut them for you to make the air fresher.”
“You remembered that I can’t have the windows open,” Haru smiled, taking the rain-damp leaves and pressing them to his nose. “So you brought the spring to me.”
“I wanted to see you so badly,” Makoto confessed, grasping Haru’s hands and kissing them. “When they called the physician, I thought you might―”
“Not yet,” his friend interrupted, bringing Makoto’s fingers up to his own white lips. “And there are worse things than death, sweetheart. I’ve seen them.”
He closed his eyes.
“So have you.”
Makoto thought back to the past year, the year that came and went without a drop of water from the skies, the year Haru broke the most sacred law of sorcery to keep the crops from dying and received a death-curse in exchange. The year Makoto resolved to lift it, only to be foiled again, and again, and again.
It had been nearly ten months since then, he mused. Ten months of Haru growing paler day by day, of his limbs losing the power to heft his broadsword and then to walk unaided, ten months of the wheat and barley and corn growing tall and full in the fields, ten months that had passed without worry for the kingdom or much thought to its prince’s recovery.
Watching it happen―watching the strength leave Haru’s heart and body―that had been a death of its own kind, he realized.
“You, certainly,” Haru observed, breaking him out of his trance. “And I am sorry for it.”
“Sorry?” gasped Makoto. “What―what do you have to be sorry for?”
“For keeping you near, when I’ll soon be so far away,” murmured the prince. “It’s been cruel of me.”
“I would have stayed even if you commanded me to leave your side,” he admitted. “You would have done the same.”
“But you’re leaving soon, aren’t you?” asked Haru. “I heard you, earlier. Where are you going?”
Makoto bit his lip and reached out again for Haru’s hands, pressing them flat to his heart.
“To the North Wilds. To find a healer, for you.”
“What?” Haru sprang upright, tearing his arms away and knocking the bunch of peppermint to the floor. “No, that’s where I went to get the rain spell, and they―they’re the ones that did this to me, they’ll kill you―”
“I’m still going to try.”
“I’ll throw you in the gaols if you do,” hissed Haru, turning three shades whiter. “Don’t you dare, Makoto―”
“Then I’ll die in the gaols, instead of out in the Wilds,” Makoto cried. “I’ve followed you everywhere, into wars and out of them, into places so dark and wretched that you had to carry me back because I was hurt too badly to walk alone―what makes you think I won’t follow you into your grave?”
“You will let me die at peace,” said Haru, suddenly becoming every inch the lord he was and speaking as a prince to a subject and not as a friend to a friend, and certainly not (though this last had never been right for them, even when they were children) as a boy to his brother. “I won’t lie here drowning in terror for you, I forbid it―”
“You’re not going to die at all,” vowed Makoto, meeting him eye to eye. “I won’t let it happen.”
“There’s nothing you can do.” Haru was weeping now, pleading with him, clutching at his tunic with shaking fingers like a child coming out of a nightmare. “I’m afraid to go without you beside me, can’t you see? You think Father hasn’t tried everything? He has, and you know it, so―”
He moved almost without meaning to, and when he next lifted his eyelashes he found his mouth pressed to the heart of Haru’s palm and Haru himself sitting two feet away, staring so hard that his eyes nearly fell out of his head.
“This hand,” he whispered, tracing its fate and marriage lines and wondering what a world without them would be―if the sun would remember to set in the evenings, if the moon would still stir the tides, if the crops would wither and die in mourning for the soul that had given them life. “I’ve always been holding it, always. What would I be without you? You’re as much of me as I am, and I’d rather die fighting to keep you than fade away grieving, after.”
“I know,” choked Haru. “I know, but for my sake, please―”
The prince turned away and coughed into a linen cloth (as he did more and more often, now that the year-anniversary of his curse was only two months away) before rolling it into a ball and stashing it under his pillow―but not quickly enough, for Makoto had seen the bright stain that bloomed between his thumbs like poppies’ petals, and as usual the proof of Haru’s suffering left him so deeply wounded that speech would not come to his lips.
“I’m sorry,” Haru told him again. “Forgive me, aynee. Forgive me.”
“I can forgive you for stopping my heart, Haru-chan,” he said, kissing Haru’s feet through the blankets. “But never for stopping me from preserving yours.”
“Those are the same things, aren’t they?” murmured his friend. “There was never a knight without his prince, or a sunbeam without his shadow. Not for us, at least.”
“No, not for us,” croaked Makoto. “Never.”
And then, because Haru’s eyes were still full of tears, he swallowed his worry and spoke again.
“Will you think about something for me, while I’m gone?”
“Anything, if you promise to come back.”
“Do you think you would like to be married, when you’re better?” Makoto asked him. “With crowns of mint for your hair, and a proper wedding-feast by the summer house. And then a month at the seaside, before coming back to the castle.”
“It sounds very nice,” sighed the prince. “Who would I be marrying? You’ve forgotten to mention that.”
“Whomever you like, aynee. No one could turn your love away, having known it.”
Haru parted his lips to argue, and Makoto brushed them once with his own before laughing and pulling away.
“What say you, my lord?”
“That a certain soldier would stay home, if he wants to make me happy. But that if he goes he must take a good companion with him, and whatever food he can carry and coin enough from the coffers. And medicine from the healing halls, just in case, and--”
“He’ll do all you ask of him, dearheart.” Makoto kissed him again, smiling as Haru pressed forward and sighed before closing his eyes. “Does he have your leave to go?”
“He does,” whispered Haru. “But you will come home?”
“I will come home, and you will heal. Promise?”
“I promise.”
“Then there’s nothing keeping me now,” he said, setting the injured peppermint in the vase by Haru’s bed. “I’m taking Strawberry, if you don’t mind.”
“Please, she needs the exercise.” Haru slumped back against the pillows and groaned, already half-asleep as Makoto kissed him for the third time and rose to depart. “Keep safe, my love.”
“And you, Haru-chan.”
“Twenty years,” murmured the prince, clutching a sprig of mint to his heart as Makoto slipped out and vanished. “Twenty years, and he still remembers the chan.”

Nerd Field Trip
"Come on, man. Are you really not gonna let me come?" Kazuichi pleaded.
"Of course I'm not allowing you to accompany us. Even after being reminded multiple times, you still did not get permission from either the school or a guardian. Besides," Tanaka grinned," wouldn't you rather accompany the princess if she recovered from her ailment early?"
Kazuichi sprinted toward the school before Tanaka could say another word.
"Let's hope he doesn't bother her too much. Are you two ready?" Tanaka turned toward Naegi and Fujisaki who were fighting each other with stick while making light-saber noises.
Naegi made a sharp thrust and then a horizontal slash. Unfortunately for him, Dark Fujisaki was too quick and dodged both attacks with a speed dash and appeared behind Dwayne 'The Egg' Makoto. Fujisaki's eyes narrowed as 'The Egg' froze in shock.
"Nothing personal, kid," Fujisaki said as the tapped Naegi on the neck. Naegi then fell to the ground, dead.
"Done?" Tanaka knelt down and held out a hand to Naegi.
"Done," Naegi said as he accepted Tanaka's hand.
The three piled into a car and a driver drove them to a train that was rented out by The Academy.
“I can’t believe they rented out a train for us,” Fujisaki said.
“Ha, do not underestimate the connections of an overlord,” Tanaka chuckled.
The ride seemed to last a long time. At some point, Naegi and Fujisaki pulled out their Game Girl™ Advances™™ and swapped Pokemon. Tanaka stared out the window in silence for the remainder of the trip. When the train arrived at the station, Tanaka seemed a little too excited. He stood up a little before the train stopped and almost fell over when it did.
“Uh, *ahem* we have arrived,” Tanaka spat nervously.
After they exited, a suited man greeted them and drove them to their destination, a carnival located on the edge of Tanaka’s hometown. To begin their trip, they headed to a concession stand for lunch. Naegi ordered a biker dog, Fujisaki got a funnel cake, and Tanaka chose a fried KitKat™©™.
“Tanaka, are you sure you don’t want more than that?” Naegi asked before taking a bite of his over sized corn dog.
Tanaka finished his treat and replied, “An overlord doesn’t require much nourishment, besides this is the first dish I dined upon in this establishment.”
“Hey Naegi, I’ll give you a bite of my funnel cake if you give me a bite of your corn puppy,” Fujisaki offered.
“Deal!” Naegi agreed without a second thought while Fujisaki held out a piece of funnel cake.
Naegi delighted in the taste of the powdered dessert. Then he held out his big, thick corn dog to Fujisaki’s face, who took a bite as Naegi almost died. Naegi stayed silent for the rest of the party’s lunch break.
“If you two don’t mind, I think we should start with some games,” Tanaka stated.
“Yeah!” the other two cried in unison.
Tanaka led the two down a route he seemed to know very well. He stopped in front of a shooting game named ‘Crossbow Shoot’.
“Ah, Tanaka, it’s you.You know the rules, my good man,” said the man behind the booth. He had smooth, slicked back, blonde hair and wild carnival attire.
“Of course,” Tanaka took the crossbow and placed the spare bolts in a line on the table. He made a quick pose reminiscent of some kind of vampire or werewolf hunter and pointed the crossbow with an aura of blood lust.
“Scorching Flame: Burst ☆ Shot!” Tanaka shouted as he fired the first bolt straight into the middle of the first target. Tanaka slid his hand across the table as he grabbed the next shot. It whipped to the side and he spun the bolt between his fingers before bringing it back and placing it firmly on the bow. He fired the next shot and pierced the second target in the center. Then, he grabbed the last two bolts and rapid fired at the last two targets, hitting them dead in the center.
“I figured you would at least be a little rusty,” sulked the man behind the counter.
“A true overlord never loses his touch, Sam,” smiled Tanaka triumphantly.
“Hehe, I’ll let you guys play for free if ya’ll want, any friend of Tanaka’s is a friend of mine. Just keep in mind I can’t give ya’ll prizes,” Sam said as he brought out another crossbow and bolts.
“Ah, it’s ,uh, heavier than it looks,” Naegi said as he almost dropped the crossbow.
Naegi was terrible with the crossbow and his first shot nearly hit Sam. His next few shots hit the target but nowhere near the middle. Fujisaki’s shots were a lot more precise even managing to land one next to the center.
“Hehe, you two aren’t so bad yourselves. A few weeks of training under Tanaka and you guys could be pros,” Sam said as he patted Tanaka on the shoulder.
“I hadn’t even thought of teaching my disciples to shoot. Perhaps I can persuade the school to arrange something,” Tanaka ejaculated while he turned to one side.
“Hey, can we play that one next?” Fujisaki pointed to a stand nearby.
Tanaka said his goodbyes and the group walked to the stand.
“Wait, are you sure you want to g-”
“Ah, Tanaka, it’s you. I can’t believe you came all this way to see me~,” a woman with long, wavy brown hair and an eloquent, black dress interrupted Tanaka.
“Amelia, you should never try sneaking up on an overlord. Had I not sensed your presence earlier you would have been diagnosed with dead,” Tanaka warned Amelia with one hand grasping the bandages on his arm.
“Come on, you know you can’t just ignore me if you visit,” Amelia flicked the tip of Tanaka’s hair, “Did you come to play?”
“Of course, a round for each of us,” Tanaka said as he paid Amelia.
She lead them to the stand with a neon light that said ‘Ring Toss’.
“What a cursed game,” Tanaka said after all three of his rings missed the target.
“If you have no skill it ends up being a game of luck,” Amelia said as she tossed three rings at the same time and landed all three perfectly.
“Naegi, you can do this!” Fujisaki cheered as Naegi stepped forward.
“Of course,” Naegi said as he spread out his legs in the best disc thrower pose he could.
Naegi threw all three discs with the power of a Norse God. However, he didn’t make a single shot. Naegi fell, defeated, and groveled on the ground with Tanaka. Fujisaki was up next. They steeled themselves for victory. They knew there was no way the entire group with lose to one game. The first shot flew through the air, hitting the tip of the target. The second shot bounced off the target. As if some kind of God of mercy decided to intervene the third ring actually managed to land around the stick. Naegi and Tanaka lifted Fujisaki up in victory. The three were ecstatic in their ability to score a single time. Fujisaki claimed a lion key chain as their prize and the three continued on.
“Perhaps, we should move on to the next event. I’d like to introduce you two to a few friends of mine,” Tanaka said as he opened a nearby tent.
“Are you sure we can be in here?” Naegi asked worryingly.
“Of course, they would never keep Shooting Star Mikhail from his tamer,” Tanaka said while looking around suspiciously.
The three stood before a large cage with a blanket over it. Tanaka removed the blanket with a dramatic tug. Underneath, lie a big ol’ bear. The bear looked up but did not move an inch.
“A-are you sure this is okay?” Naegi asked as Tanaka unlocked the cage.
“Worrying will inhibit your abilities. Sometimes you must charge head first into what life has to offer,” Tanaka opened the cage and Mikhail ran out.
The bear skidded to a halt a few feet after and then rushed toward Tanaka. Tanaka stood his ground and looked Mikhail directly in the eyes. Mikhail tackled Tanaka and while looming over him, Mikhail sniffed his face. Tanaka clapped twice and Mikhail let him up and ran around the group in a circle. Tanaka stopped Mikhail and pet him to calm him down.
“Mikhail seems to be excited to see us. Perhaps, I should visit more often,” Tanaka said.
“I-I can pet him, right?” Fujisaki asked as they approached the bear.
“Of course, he’s trained to be around people,” Tanaka said as he lead Mikhail toward Fujisaki and Naegi.
Fujisaki held out one hand then Mikhail snorted and rubbed his face against Fujisaki’s. Fujisaki’s cheeks flushed while they returned Mikhail’s affection with pets and pats.
“It looks like he likes you. Naegi, would you like a turn?” Tanaka asked as Naegi stepped back.
“Nah, I’m good,” Naegi said as a giant, anime bead of sweat went down his face. Tanaka guided the bear back to his cage and returned the cage’s cover.
“Next we will visit Mettus. I’m sure he has sensed my presence by now,” Tanaka said as he led the group to another tent.
After they entered the tent, they stood before a desk and a black, office chair facing the opposite direction. The chair rapidly spun around and a man leapt over the group. He spread his arms in the air and spun at the same time. Before landing on the other side of the group, he held out one hand and pushed it against the ground causing him to do one last flip.
Mettus the Mysterious, at your service. Tanaka, I’m glad to see my brightest pupil doing his best. If I may ask, who have you brought to accompany our reunion,” Mettus said as he bowed.
“These are mu closest underclassmen, Naegi and Fujisaki,” Tanaka said as he patted them on the backs.
“I presume you two would also like to learn from me?” Mettus offed while rubbing his hands together causing sparks to fly.
“I’m no-”
“I’m love to!!!” Fujisaki interrupted Naegi and pushed aside his lame, not wanting magic butt.
“Haha, that passion for the dark arts reminds me of Tanaka when he was younger. Please accept this chalk I have imported every year from a secret friend of mine,” Mettus handed both Naegi and Fujisaki a stick of brightly glowing, white chalk.
“Are you sure they’re ready for such high level arts?” Tanaka stammered.
“That’s not for me to decide. They’re your student’s, after all,” Mettus said as he patted Tanaka on the shoulder.
“Ah, that’s right,” Mettus snapped, “Tanaka, I’d like for you to check on Zenon. He has been a bit sluggish recently.”
Tanaka headed deeper into the tent and Fujisaki and Naegi followed behind. They stood before another cage, much smaller than the last and with no cover. Tanaka reached inside and retrieved a bunny from underneath a log. He checked over Zenon closely, however he seemed troubled. He then stuck his head into the cage and sniffed a couple times. He placed the bunny back into the cage and grabbed one of Zenon’s pieces of food. Tanaka put the food in his mouth and chewed slowly. Naegi gagged and Fujisaki looked on in awe.
“I believe they have changed the ingredients in this feed. I will need to do some more tests. Naegi, Fujisaki, I trust you two will be fine on your own for a little bit,” Tanaka led both of them out of the tent and returned to his work.
Naegi and Fujisaki walked back to the games area. The two settled on a ball throw game where you knock down bottles. Fujisaki went first. They managed to hit two out of three of the stacks and chose a small stuffed giraffe as their prize. Naegi could feel it, it was his true time to shine. He threw down 5000 US Yen (the official currency of Amerijapan) and retrieved his first ball. He took a pose that was taught to him by Leon and threw the ball. The ball absolutely obliterated the first group of bottles. Then that one intense song from Naruto started playing in the background. Naegi struck another pose, ready to show off his skills. He threw the second ball and it grazed passed the bottles. Naegi was defeated, again. Fujisaki patted Naegi on the back and Naegi smiled. He grabbed the next ball and threw it with all his strength. The ball straight up wrecked the next group of bottles and then ricochet off the back of the tent and then decimated another group of bottles.
“You did it, Naegi! What are you going to pick?” Fujisaki asked.
“You can have my prize. I have enou- *ahem* I’m not interested in stuffed animals,” Naegi lied.
“Okay, I want that one!” Fujisaki pointed at a large Patamon plushie and after retrieving it they put it on their head.
The two decided to head back to Tanaka. Upon returning, they found Tanaka rubbing Zenon against his face.
“Ah, my companions, Zenon has made a full recovery thanks to some special feed I had. Of course, I will need to do a follow up but for now he’s fine,” Tanaka explained.
The group held a bunny cuddle session before they headed out again.
“Ah, it’s getting late, should we end by riding some rides?” Naegi asked as he pulled Tanaka’s sleeve.
“Of course,” Tanaka replied as he led them onward to a huge roller coaster.
“Our time is limited so you two should ride while I handle our belongings,” Tanaka said as he began collecting their stuff.
Naegi and Fujisaki boarded the roller coaster and had a great time. It was so great, it is indescribable with words and can only be expressed with this picture: [DLC Only CG]
“Wow, Naegi, that was a great ride, wasn’t it?” Fujisaki said as they exited.
“Yeah, it was. It was so good that I would have paid money just to see us on that ride,” Naegi plugged shamelessly.
Upon regrouping, the squad decided Tanaka should ride something. Tanaka chose to to ride the teacups and Naegi volunteered to watch the stuff this time. As Tanaka and Fujisaki were boarding, Naegi took the opportunity to squeeze the Patamon plush.
“So soft,” he said quietly so no one could hear him.
Tanaka and Fujisaki were enjoying their time for the most part however, halfway through, Tanaka’s face changed color and his demeanor changed slightly.
“Tanaka, are you okay?” Fujisaki asked as they joined Naegi.
“Apologies, this device seems to have cursed me with nausea,” Tanaka said as he regained his loose grip on reality.
The carnival was becoming increasingly filled with people so the three decided to leave.
