agere blog reccommendations? xx

Hmm, that's a tough question, because I want to say almost every agere blog!! It's very rare I see actual agere accounts doing something I don't like. But, this is a great opportunity to talk about some of my personal favorites!

@/dino-boyo-agere is super nice, makes really fun posts and loves dinosaurs like I do!!

@/snailsagere makes really cool and inclusive boards! They were one of the people whose content gave me the idea to make moodboards on this account!!

@/tinyowlet makes the best dni banners ever! And creates really awesome moodboards (plus he's super cool)!!

@/plusie and I have never interacted, but they have a ton of cute plushie boards!!

@/tinikip is another favorite of mine! He's not online very often, but I'm always happy to see new posts when he's active!!

@/hyperfixated-maybe isn't necessarily an agere account, but he's so so cool! Seriously one of the best people I've met here! And, he has the best recommendations for things to check out!!

@/litlpawz is so so nice!! And he makes super cute stuff!! Seriously he has so much variety and answers requests a lot faster than I do!!

Finally, @/cgstuff reblogs a lot of stuff that's fun!! I like to look through her blog and see posts that didn't show up on my dash!!

I would do honorable mentions but truly it's just most people I didn't mention by name! There's so so many agere accounts that do cool things and I'd love to know and name them all!!

I've had this account for a long time, and I love it a lot, and I really really appreciate my mutuals and long time followers here. I get such joy from the familiar faces in my notifications, and I don't want to leave, so I'm not going to. That said, this account is currently really bad for my mental health. I'm exposed here to a lot of anger and political content and discourse and current events and bigotry (mostly from people fighting said bigotry but still) and it's just really getting to me. The antisemitism in particular has been really rough for months, and I feel like I've reached a bit of a breaking point. So I'm going to try taking a break for a little while. I'm going to hang out on C's account, which is a much happier and softer place with pretty much all potentially upsetting content filtered. If you're interested in following us there you can, but it's a super different vibe from this account; it's pretty much entirely pink and green aesthetics and some cottage core type stuff. It's literally just pretty pictures that make us happy and occasional encouraging text posts. I might sometimes start posting personal posts there if I stay there long enough but I also might not. So if that sounds like your jam feel free to follow but no pressure, and I probably won't follow back even most mutuals from here there bc it's a very specific account with a specific purpose. Anyway. The point is. Taking a break from this account, not leaving permanently, in the meantime we can be found @cherry-alive

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this!! On one hand I'm flattered that it was... "cool" enough to get shared to another site, but on the other hand I'm a little miffed that it was reposted in the first place?

I... is there even anything I can do here?? What is Reddit etiquette? I know reposting is pretty common there, and I'm not really inclined to report them or ask them to take it down if that's part of the post economy/ecosystem, you know?

i hope you don’t mind me sending this ask, but i saw you talking about louies insulting and saying horrible shit about louis for “supporting an abuser” and not signing the palestine letter. i went on twitter and it’s really bad. i’d expect it from la/rries who clearly only love ha/rry and see louis as nothing but an attachment to him, but louies??? solo louies??? his own fans??? i don’t know, as much as i may not agree with some of his actions/opinions i would never think of speaking about him in that way. it’s like these people aren’t even his fans. i may want him to speak up about the ongoing genocide, but as you said, in a sincere way, but the industry is run by zionists so i get why he can’t. as you said, it seems like they think they own louis, when that’s not right at all.

with liam there’s a level of loyalty and he’s just too good (he’s a leo moon through and through). him supporting liam doesn’t surprise me because he does that a lot. also, maya’s book hasn’t even come out yet, so i prefer not to jump into conclusions before it’s out. so yeah, the point is i can’t believe this behavior from his so called fans and it’s really frustrating to see. reminded me why i never go on twitter and why i prefer to stay on my corner of the fandom

My thoughts exactly! Honestly, i'm tired of his fans speaking in this weird and frankly offensive tone about him any chance they got. Like they never miss a beat. Never in my life have i seen a fandom calling out their fav for supporting an "abuser" just bc his bandmate's ex-gf posted about a book she wrote with a few trigger warnings. At least wait until the book is out and you can read it 😬. As far as the speaking on the genocide against Palestinians, i said what i think several times no matter how unpopular that opinion might be. Also, not to be that person but i honestly think it's time they stopped with the i'm so disappointed in him tweets every two seconds like sorry but if it means that much to you that he speaks up and it's something that you really can't get over (doubtful bc most of these people were talking for days about the SB and TS and her bf's kiss which btw i never see them calling her out and expressing their disappointement even though she's the biggest star in the world and can actually get away with a pro-Palestine statement and make an impact. i think i finally cracked the code on getting through this horrid class for context- im currently taking an advanced literature class with GENUINELY the worst teacher ive ever had, i will not elaborate because ill just start complaining i stopped being motivated to do her work because she doesnt grade anything so whats the point?? but no, thats just gonna lead me to failure for when she inevitably grades the 20 outstanding assignments !!!! instead. she WANTS me to fail, so i wont <3!! im doing her work bc she doesnt want me to!!!!!! stay mad its good for your work ethic

the biggest difference between how the maruarders fandom at large characterises james (mostly talking in fic, but this extends to a smaller extent to memes and general discussion, but those are a bit harder to generalise) compared to the jegulus fandom comes down to how much moral complexity - or complexity full stop - james is afforded.

in the fandom at large, james tends to be characterised primarily as a happy-go-lucky, loyal friend, someone who's strong convictions extend to his relationships. he's strong, and athletic, and popular, and he had a good childhood, he's easy going. and that's all well and good, i don't necessarily disagree with that characterisation, but i think more often than not, people stop there with james's character. and he's shoved into a stock role, as the mom friend or as the "ally." the most conflict james is able to have - outside of the war, which isn't actually a conflict for his character - is his relationship with lily, and maybe with sirius after the prank.

basically, james's characterisation in the marauder's fandom at large lacks internal conflict, and without that conflict, he stays an unambiguously "good" person.

whereas, within the jegulus fandom, if the fic takes place in canon then james cannot be unambiguously good or loyal. by being with regulus, james now has to lie to sirius at the very least, if not all his friends, and he also has to grapple with the dubious morality of being with someone who outwardly expresses bigoted beliefs. by being with regulus at all, no matter what reg's actual beliefs are or if he's actually a "good person" or not, james is at least partially condoning the rhetoric regulus espouses in public.

with this added layer of obligatory complexity, it's very easy for james in jegulus fics to have the outward appearance of the happy-go-lucky mom friend, all the while having a very different inner character with serious flaws and issues that need to be worked through.

i think, because james in jegulus fics has his flaws on full display from the get-go, he's not placed on so much of a pedestal. it's much more likely that james will be allowed to make mistakes, or hurt people, or suffer from self worth issues. this carries over into AUs where it's much more likely in jegulus fic that james not be a wholly good person, or not have morals that align with the other characters.

i have a thousand more things to say, but i'll leave it at that for now.
