i HATE mr bonzo so unbelievably much it's not even funny
i haven't stopped thinking about how much i dislike him and it's been DAYS since mag12. i hate that he still makes me nauseas after that episode. there is no reason for him to be so horrificially monsterous. it's genuinely funny how pathetically evil he is. i find him humorous and am offended that he is frightening. he isn't tragic. he has no sadness. no weakness or suffering for us to sympathize with. he's just some failed children's mascot who eats people. what devastating backstory could they even give him? a kid pissed on his feet one time?? there is nothing these talented writers could ever create that would ever make me feel anything but pure rage towards this horrid clown adjacent mass of flesh and puss. it's devastating when we compare him to any of the TMA avatars. jane prentiss just wanted to be loved, so she let the worms consume her. don't even GET me started on jon. but god damn bulbous bonzo? fuckass chuck-e-cheese drop out who turned to aggressive cannibalism. he does nothing but pure evil with no ounce of remorse that could lead to any amount of sympathy. how dare his nauseating form have any impact on my psyche. he is not worthy of my fear and i hope he explodes in some distant land where his death will not impede on anyone's sanity.
this is NOT hating on the writing in this series at all i think it is wonderful

Sam broke up with Alice.
He broke up with Alice because she didn't know how to take some things seriously. She didn't know when to turn off the jokes. She made one too many jokes about something that wasn't funny and Sam got sick of it.
Do you ever wonder if Alice sat alone in her flat, wishing she was a different person so that she could be what Sam wanted?
And now he needs a job and she wants him back in her life. As a coworker, as a friend, anything. She'll take anything. She misses him.
She's learned her lesson this time. And now every time Sam tells Alice to "turn it off" she does so without any hesitation. She shuts right the hell up. She doesn't do that with any other person in the office. But for Sam, she'll try and be what he wants her to be.
And he goes and gets a crush on his coworker. Not Alice, though. Never Alice. No, he gets a crush on the beautiful, emotionally available girl that he has no past with and all the promises of a future. And she has to watch him bounce around her in a twitter pated mess, trying and failing to flirt and she remember what it was like when he was flirting with her. She remember that sweet, earnest care he gave her and how he too once offered her his good teas.
Maybe it wasn't enough just to be coworkers, to be friends. But it's too late now.
And now he comes back from his date, drunk and happy and looking like he's just a few more dates from getting lucky. She probably doesn't make awkward jokes because she doesn't know how to be real and authentic. Celia's probably perfect for Sam, the way Alice never was.
And now all Alice has left are the jokes, so she makes them and she hopes they hide everything.
They don't. Of course they don't.
"Be professional."
And now she's standing there. The ex girlfriend who's not over her old flame and everyone in the office knows it. She's standing there alone and Sam has robbed her of all the jokes.
Who is she without them?

i just watched the leaked owl house pilot and it just felt like watching the show as episodes released all over again
i haven't been massively obsessed with the owl house in a while but it brought back all the memories of me and my friends counting down the days until the next episode, sharing any news or information we found, staying up on the nights the episodes aired so we could all watch them together, and then talking about it together for the next few days
that show changed my life and really is the base for some of the most meaningful friendships i have today so idk this new content just brought all that back

The 'Aziraphale Still Believes in Heaven' Take
Is one that I see so often. Too often.
The way many fans (still) say Aziraphale is so naïve, he's never learned anything, he never changes, Metatron just offered him a promotion and he happily jumped on it. Happy to go back to Heaven. Still in their clutches.
Leaving Crowley behind. Cos nothing lasts forever. Amirite? Poor long-suffering Crowley. So patient. Goes through so much. Aww.
Takes that say that because Crowley never told Aziraphale about the venom in Gabriel's "Shut your stupid mouth and die already", Aziraphale has no idea that Heaven is not the good guys, that he still believes they are on the side of truth and light.
Takes that claim Aziraphale wants Crowley to come to Heaven and be an angel again so they can be happy like in the good old times.
Takes that basically say that Aziraphale is stupid. And blind.
LISTEN
Do you mean this Aziraphale:
Who knew before Crowley did that something is rotten in the state of Denmark, that things are wrong and one can get in a lot of trouble for a thing as minor as a suggestion to improve things.
Is this the Aziraphale that would seriously suggest to Crowley, who he was immediately deeply anxious over, to go back to 'good old times'? What good old times?
How is Heaven a place of light when:
A bunch of angels comes down to Earth to bully and PUNCH ONE OF THEIR OWN?
Why would he think they are the light when they shame him for being who he is?
Yes, I HC is that ultimately, Aziraphale still believes in God, in Her inherent goodness, even if Her tasks were often odd... and not lining up with what he thought was right. He thinks (remember my own HC) something somewhere went wrong with the what She wanted and the how it was understood and executed.
And yes, Aziraphale wants to do good. But that's not tied to him being an angel. And it's not a bad thing ffs! Crowley does good as well. Aziraphale might be the only one who knows, but he knows.
Maybe getting humans out of the Garden to seek knowledge was always a (certainty) possibility, and maybe not, but it was Aziraphale's decision to arm them.
And She didn't make him Fall for it.
And do you remember when:
Aziraphale first openly questioned that Heaven was actually doing what God actually wanted? He had a think after the Flood, didn't he.
He did what he thought was right. He trusted Crowley over his fellow angels, with his own sense of rightness.
He and Crowley saved the kids that Aziraphale triple checked the Archangels saw no problem in letting die to make things easier.
And She didn't make him Fall for it.
In Edinburgh:
Az re-evaluated the thinking he was taught and did a full 180 degree turn, trying in few hours to save the grave-robbing girl AND the possible future lives of children that could be helped via more learning.
And when we come to Metatron and his threats, we don't see the full conversation, but don't we see enough?
Aziraphale says that he's not interested.
Metatron keeps nagging at him. Pushing the symbolic coffee from Coffee or Death at him. Flattering him with obvious untruths.
After all, Aziraphale knows what Heaven thinks of him. He tried to reason with Metatron before.
Metatron tells him they know how deep his disobedience lies:
Aziraphale is not a fool.
He knows this is an offer of come quietly or we will find a way to destroy you and your demon this time.
Aziraphale didn't have to hear Metatron's quip of: "For one prince of Heaven to be cast into the outer darkness makes a good story. For it to happen twice, makes it look like there is some kind of institutional problem."
He knows the system is rotten. He knows for a LONG time.
Did you see his face when he met Muriel and realised what a lonely sad existence they lead.
AND
Crowley doesn't love Aziraphale despite the fact that he's being used to get out of trouble, being made to listen about random things the angel enjoys from symphonies to food and plays, and who continues to believe in goodness and kindness.
CROWLEY LOVES AZIRAPAHLE BECAUSE OF THOSE THINGS
AND because he sees Aziraphale for what he is, an angel who thinks for himself, changes his mind, learns, angel who is brave, who stands for the right thing, who sacrifices his own happiness for the safety of others, especially the demon he loves.
They are the same. They are lonely. They are one of a kind. And they love each other.
Aziraphale wants to stay at home.
In the home he built for himself and Crowley.
On Earth where he's found so much to love.
But he knows it is impossible.
As Crowley confesses his love, Aziraphale struggles to stay on his plan to push him away, to make him stay. He'll miss Crowley terribly. He wants them to be together. For him, they were an 'us' the whole S2. However tenuously. Fragile existence and all that.
But even this was ripped away from him.
And whatever he's planning, he knows he needs to do the first steps on his own. He can't submit Crowley to the torture that being in Heaven is going to be for him, an unwanted, despised angel.
And that would be even worse for an unwanted demon.
He had to push him away.
So he leaves.
Furious.
And determined.
Whether it is to burn the place down or find God and ask Her all the questions to Her face I don't know.
But his love will push him through.
And if I see one more simplistic take of the snarky demon is really good isn't he, so that means the stuffy angel is bad (and needs to change to be worthy of the demon) I will curse their dreams with lines about shades of grey.

literally my favourite thing about lena kelley that keeps being proven again and again as the series continues: she does not give a fuck and is just doing her job. no morals. no plans. no personality. go girl, give us less than nothing. cannot find it within me to believe she's the big bad when she's literally an empty shell of a person repeating someone else's lines back at the person she used to be. she is nothing. she's everything to me.

I'm sorry, "baby in a horror podcast" was NOT on my bingo card. huh???? I'm... assuming the baby won't be in any serious trouble?? but it has to do with Celia so?? Is the baby...real? I mean if he's just over a year old that's right around .jmj error but yeah @-@ idk how to appropriately make speculations on a baby given the genre.
Sam's whole origin story is "gifted kid facing severe rejection anxiety" and honestly mood. Aspiring law major though no wonder he's so set on filling out all the weird forms.
Dang and here I was thinking that Alice was going to be the outlier in the trend of "spooky workplace employees whose families are all dead". rip. girl probably feels super responsible for her brother and that's what's got them into the whole financial issue stuff :/

this guy sounds like a jerk (though not a rich one apparently) but I mean. he's in a hospital and this is a horror podcast so there's probably a decent reason. talk about morally gray huh.
We've got Sam "ex gifted kid who flunked out of his career" and then this guy who never even got started and fell into crypto and bad finances instead
this Darrien guy went from very angry to kinda thoughtful and reminiscent pretty fast. also he did not have to give this much exposition in the complaint. at least in tmagp2 there was more of a reason for it with the therapist asking but with this idk. maybe it's like the eye's residual influences means that every recount of a spooky event requires proper storytelling? seems a little too easy tho. maybe this guy just like. needs someone to talk to and actually listen cause boy does this dude seem seriously deprived of that.
oo normal phone now linked to the fears after opting into the spooky software. sounds familiar! weird how so many of these statements involve outside people, but are also so self contained to the case person.
oh so the more this guy gets himself into a rut the more money he gets. no wonder he's at the hospital. does he lose money when he's doing well? does the setting automatically force or encourage some kind of mindset that will cause these sorts of things? seems kinda like the opposite of the dice guy.
did the app originally have some sort of "betting against an actual person's life circumstances" thing? how did he not find this weird? just the money talking I guess?
anyways. seems like a pretty clean cut web case, what with the "insectoid sounds", gambling, and whatnot. For the sake of all the mental health stuff, sucky turns in that guy's life, and the whole thing about the fears not being singular per case, buried too.
Fun case. reminds me a lot of the dice guy, but the damage is done inwards rather than outwardly.
