Losing You \\ Peter Quill x Reader
Summary: Reader is Quill's ex. Said reader goes after another, abusive ex, and gets hurt badly.

Warnings: mentions of death, attempted murder, abuse, blood, mild language. Angst. Also fluffy ending.
A/N: I wrote this for a challenge that @make-me-imagine started and used two of the provided prompts, highlighted in bold. Hope you like it!

Peter had only actually been scared a few times in his life. Once was the last time he saw his dying mother. And when he got abducted.
It was safe to say, now was one of those times.
You'd gone out on your own, risking your life to finish a job that no one else could. It had to do with your Ex. Hell, the entire situation about to unfold had to do with your exes.
You weren't a murderer. But this man had to be stopped before he did those unimaginable things to anyone else. He'd beat you. Tortured you. Threatened you. And you stayed for it? There must've been something wrong with your head.
Fear.
You stayed because of fear.
You mentally beat yourself up for not staying with Peter. Sure, he was arrogant and a bit greedy, but that was 26 years of the Ravagers coming through. Yet, underneath all of that was a heart of gold. A man who protected you at all costs. You wished he was here right now, to hold you, tell you he loved you.
Because he still did.
And you were sure you did too.
Covered in blood and bruises, you slumped down in the alleyway. You hadn't killed your ex. You couldn't bring yourself to do it, and that came with consequences. Your ears began ringing and vision blurred, yet you could tell someone was crouched next to you. Faintly through the persistent static ringing, you heard a voice calling your name. A familiar voice. It wasn't long before two arms clad in red leather wrapped around you, a hand cradling the back of your head. You felt a sense of safety, and succumbed to darkness.

Your eyes felt heavy as you struggled to open them. You were laying on something soft. Odd, since the last thing you remembered was being in an alleyway. Then the voice. You replayed the words that had just been spoken to you and realized who that voice was.
Jolting awake, the first person you saw was your other, definitely much sweeter ex, Peter Quill. Then you realized what had happened. By chance, he'd found you and carried you back to his ship. Looking around, you recognized his room.
"Oh, um....hi. I'm glad you're awake." He said, as if he hasn't just confessed he still loved you. Had you just imagined that?
You tried to say something, but the weight of all your mistakes -leaving Peter, going after your other ex- came crashing down on you, and you burst into tears. Within seconds he had moved towards you, wrapping you in the same embrace as earlier.
"Shhh, baby. I'm not gonna let anyone else hurt you." He whispered, hand rubbing circles on your back.
You hadn't imagined it.
Pulling back to look at his face, you saw his terrified look, realizing what he'd just said.
But he hadn't finished the thought when your lips found his. He didn't hesitate at the sudden kiss, instead he pulled you in closer. You broke the kiss and rested your forehead against his.
"Peter, how did you find me?" You asked, mind racing back to that night. You'd just been thinking of him.
"I don't know- I just, walked by and, saw you there."
"I didn't believe in soulmates until I met you."
"What?"
"Before, I was thinking of how stupid I was, leaving you. And then you were there..."
He didn't say anything, instead, pulling you closer. You realized that he'd cleaned your wounds and dressed the larger ones. Another reason you shouldn't have left him.
"Join the Guardians again, y/n. Come with me."
You didn't even have to think.
"Yes. God yes."

Mini Announcement
Hey there!
I recently realized that I've been running this blog for almost 3 years and I thought it would be nice to do a little anniversary thing. July 19th marks the date of the first post I made so I think that would be a good date for it.
The only issue is.... I'm not sure what to do for it. I want to do a little positivity about Walkerverse and about my blog, maybe my fics, but I'm having a hard time pinning down exactly what to do. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears!

Mao Mao 3rd Anniversary Video Submissions + Rules
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION
Hello, everyone!
May 20th is around the corner once more, and we want to surprise Parker and crew with an appreciation video! For those who don't know, the show was announced to the public as being greenlit on May 20th, 2019. This would make it its 3rd anniversary.
The rules are similar to last year;
We will only be accepting videos that are no longer than 15 seconds. These videos can be a recording of yourself, OR if you do not wish to reveal your face/voice, you can create a small gif/animation with or without your voiceover. The video can either be you thanking Parker and the crew for creating Mao Mao or for all their hard work, or about how much you enjoy or miss the show. Any kind of positive message is accepted! As long as it stays within the 15 second mark. They can also be as short as 2-3 seconds. Please do NOT ask any questions regarding season 2 during your recording, this collaboration is only focused on giving thanks to the crew.
We wish to create a video compilation of many fans thanking and saying positive feedback to the Mao Mao crew, something for them to remember that even during this kind of hiatus, we are still here and excited for the future!
Once you finish your video, PLEASE send it to either my Tumblr or Instagram DMs. That way, I can save the videos and place them into a Google drive. Do NOT post them anywhere until the video is completed and released. 💕
We wish to keep this a secret from Parker, so it will not be posted about on Twitter yet, HOWEVER, please do spread word privately to others who you think would love to join! This is a chance to show your appreciation to the crew for all they've done for us ❤
THE DEADLINE IS MAY 16TH, 2021. After 11:59pm EST of that day, we will no longer accept submissions. Please keep that in mind!
We will then create the video compilation and upload it on Twitter and/or YouTube ( to be determined ). We will alert Parker about it so he can view it! EVERYONE will also be credited so he knows who's thanking him!

So new space race event in Arknights, and wouldn't you know it, I got lucky enough to get the limited character with 30 pulls, and my usual reckless 10 pull on the blue banner gave me the one 5-star I've really been missing, the thematically appropriate Silence. Meaning I will get both Silences in basically the same day.
As a downside, I've been progressing very slow through the event. The story is genuinely interesting enough that I just can't let myself skip the scenes, even if I plan to read a summary later. Additionally I'm glad to see that you can complete bonus objectives to unlock key art and bonus lore. They really go all out on these anniversary event stories, don't they?

5th Blog Anniversary Writing Challenge
In celebration of this blogs Five Year Anniversary (as of June 23), I am going to hold a Challenge Event that I hope you all decide to participate in!

Deadline: July 9th; 10pm GMT-7

Rules/Guidelines:
Choose at least one of the prompts from the list below, and write a oneshot(fic) using the prompt(s) of your choice.
Fic should be around 1k words or more (if it turns out to be like 4k words, thats perfectly fine lol)
You can post the fic anytime you want, with the deadline being 10pm GMT-7 on July 9th. (Post the fics to your own blog, do not submit it to my blog).
My Preferences: A reader insert fic for a fandom from my fandoms list. This does not have to be followed, but might act in your favor when I choose a winner.
You can write smut/nsfw, but it will not win, as I do not post or reblog either to my own blog. (Suggestive but not nsfw in detail, is fine, and could win.)
Tag me in your finished fic, and also put a # in the tags to help me find it in case the @ does not work. You can use #merasanniversaryevent and/or #meraswritingchallenge
Winners/Prizes:
Depending on how many people participate in this event. There will be anywhere from 1 to 3 winners.

Story - summarized
The Goddess of Desire was born from the depths of the abyss. The first desire she ever tasted was that of a dying flower begging for sunlight. Once it died, its voice drifted towards the Goddess, and she claimed it for her own. It was wonderful... but since it was brief, she wanted more.
As echoes of greedy memories grew louder, she grew in strength and power. Enough so that one day, when she encountered a particularly evil skeletal demon, she was able to give him a body. Now a fully formed demon, Nightbane the dark skeleton swore allegiance to the Goddess of Desire.
Much later, Leonid fell into the abyss. Nightbane and other monsters tried to get to him, but none of them could find any trace of evil within the mortal man. The Goddess, however, was powerful enough to detect a strange desire within him: to destroy Miraland.
This was a new, curious desire. She wanted it, and she wanted Leonid. She approached him with illusions of a perfect, beautiful world. The Goddess promised that she and Leonid could remake the world as they wanted if he would join her.
Leonid was tempted, but he managed to back away from her. But he remained trapped in the abyss. The Goddess of Desire expected him to crawl back to her any day now, begging for her help.
But a few days later, Leonid gathered all his power and escaped from the abyss. She tried chasing after him, but he cast a net of light that burned her if she touched it. She was trapped in the abyss.
Nightbane offered to help her escape. His power wasn’t strong enough, but he could create the perfect vessel for her to inhabit. Eventually, he came to serve Queen Lilith. Once all the pieces are in place, he lets the Goddess of Desire approach Lilith. She is more than eager to make a deal with her... but a figment of Ashley appears and tries to stop the deal. The Goddess burns her to ashes, and they finish the deal.
“Lilith” is now ready for the coronation ceremony the next day.
Connections
-The Goddess of Desire’s Reflection and Leonid’s angel one are two halves of the same story. They are best read one after the other.
-Nikki glimpses a vision of the Goddess approaching Lilith in the palace. It’s one of the last illusions she has to face during the hell event’s main story (Vol. 1, Finale, Part 9).
-Nightbane’s first attempt to create a vessel for the Goddess of Desire was during Soul Magic: he tried crafting a doll of pure evil and beauty for her, but instead he created the angelic doll that became Ashley.
-The Goddess of Desire has been defeated twice thanks to Leonid: the first time when he left the abyss, and the second time when his successor (Nikki) figured out the manuscript he left behind.
-When the Goddess of Desire conjures up the memory of the Starheaven Swan fire, Ashley and Lilith coexist for a moment. In Volume 2, Ashley comes back to Miraland as her own persona.
Fun Facts
-Apples commonly appear in mythology as a symbol of love, lust, or temptation.
-Also, white and black traditionally stand for purity and darkness, respectively. Here, their symbolic meanings switch: the Goddess’ white color stands for illusion and dazzling evil, and Leonid’s black feathers represent the abyss and hidden truth.
-When the Goddess of Desire is finally freed from the abyss, she sends out earthquakes and natural destruction. She is fulfilling the desire that Leonid never could.
