So I met this person who said "if only his (Tony's) dad was ever actually developed to be actually abusive" and that's bullshit. Howard clearly abused Tony in a lot of ways- emotionally, mentally, physically.

He made Tony drink alcohol when Tony was a literal child, told him he had to be a man. That's how Tony's drinking problem started. Howard forcing a child, his own child, to drink. He told him that drinking will put hair on his chest, and that he had to stop being a sissy. He hit Tony when he saw him playing with toys. He physically abused him for acting his age. Because of Howard, Tony stopped playing with toys. There were only weapons. Tony literally promised him "No toys, just weapons."

In the comics, Howard literally tried to sell Tony to Dracula in exchange of immortality. He died, became a demon and tried to kill his own son in hell. And people are still saying that he tried his best to be a dad and that he failed? My friend, he didn't even try a little. Imagine being that ignorant.

And no, MCU Howard isn't better. Howard literally scarred Tony for his whole life. He didn't let him be a child. He wanted him to be another version of himself. Iron Man 2 tried to show Howard as a good man by making him say "You were my greatest creation" and that was full of shit. First of all, he didn't even try to show Tony that he appreciated him even just a little bit. That man didn't even bothered to tell Tony he loved him even once. And then he recorded himself saying that? You gotta try a little harder if you want your son to think better of you, Howard. Also, saying that your own son is your greatest creation is weird. Tony is his own person. He isn't a machine that Howard made, that man doesn't own him.

Avengers Endgame also tried to make Howard look better and that made me sick. That was awful. Endgame was so bad for that. Tony hugged his abuser, forgave him, and literally thanked him for everything.

Russo brothers, what the hell? What did Tony thank Howard for, exactly? Ignoring him? Starting his drinking problem? Hitting him? Abusing him verbally? Physically? Not letting him be a child for once? Are those the things Tony thanked Howard for?

And don't even get me started on "The kid's not even here yet, and there's nothing I wouldn't do for him." Everything about this sentence is awful. Horrible. Disgusting. Makes me sick. You know why? Because that is a way of saying Tony is the one to blame.

Knowing how Howard treated Tony, this literally means Tony is the one who failed to meet Howard's expectations. Tony's the one who's at fault for the way how Howard abused him. Because he wasn't good enough. Because he wasn't what Howard wanted him to be. If Tony was what Howard expected, Howard wouldn't be so bad with him. But Tony disappointed him, so Howard gave up on him. That's literally what that sentence means. Tony's playing the victim. He's being ungrateful to his dad. Howard's not wrong for the way how he raised Tony, Tony should've known better.

Did you know that Tony, as a fourteen years old child, was so traumatized to the point he built something he called "Stark City"? He built that as an apology to his father. And you know what he was trying to apologize for? Living. He tried to apologize Howard for living and Howard didn't even see it.

Imagine the feeling. Imagine the way how he felt his whole childhood. Abused. Ignored. Depressed. Maybe even suicidal, since he literally regretted being born as a fourteen years old. But yeah, only if Howard was actually developed to be an abusive father.

Fuck you, Russo brothers. Fuck you, Howard apologists.

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (apart from I skipped some overly long action sequences) and I am not sure so can someone tell me whether or not Tony Stark was the baddy in that film? Because about halfway through I was sure he was but then it was maybe just an evil robot after all and I am confused because either this film was surprisingly subversive or it was about robots hitting each other.

Usopp has chronic pain specifically headaches and migraines

It used to be chronic headaches after alabasta. They would dull but would last all day. He'd stay inside and avoid bright lights when he gets them. He doesn't really try to get ready in the morning due to the pain. He loses his appetite and is not as cheerful as he usually is. Sanji of course is concerned as is every one else, but usopp says he's fine he can handle himself. It's very noticeable that he's uncomfortable but seems to be functioning he tells them not to worry about it so they respect his wishes. Sanji does keep an eye on him letting him have private moments of vulnerability, holding him kissing his head and whispering words of comfort.

After Skypia after Luffy dropped that weird fruit on his head (He really could have killed him 😭) and mainly wano his headaches got worse and quickly started becoming migraines. Something he kept to himself not wanting his friends to worry about him. He'd power thru them the best he can going the whole day in pain without anyone noticing.

It started to become difficult to hide when it started affecting his vision and hearing. They found him in the bathroom sick from the pain. Franky carried him to his bed while copper brought strong pain meds that knocked him out. Sanji would be in bed with him feeding guilt for not noticing his pain sooner.

Why would you say this-- I had enough with the headcanon of Zoro having chronic pains, I did not need this,,, But I love it, though, big fan of the angst.

After everything they've been through (especially Usopp, who's not built different like the monster trio) it's just normal that he ends up like this. He keeps saying he's fine because he doesn't want to be a burden, but Sanji knows something's wrong. You can't help somebody who refuses to be helped, though, so Sanji just tries to keep an eye on him and give him private moments to rest.

I think Usopp ends up telling Sanji about his pain, but only Sanji. He's the one who takes care of Usopp when his head hurts too much to work. Usopp gets frustrated because he really wants to be helpful and not turn into somebody they have to carry around, but everything hurts too much to even complain about that. It breaks Sanji's heart to see his sniper act this way, and even if he normally would ask Chopper for help, he doesn't say anything because Usopp told him not to. At least not yet. So sometimes they go to sleep earlier than usual. Sometimes Sanji stays up with Usopp when he's the one watching the ship. Sanji hugs him close, kisses his temple, and keeps whispering sweet nothings to him in order to help him sleep. Usopp is only this vulnerable when it comes to his boyfriend. Sanji is being optimistic, though, everything will be okay. He won't let it become too much for Usopp to handle.

But he doesn't notice when it becomes too much because Usopp starts hiding it from him too, and when they find him in the bathroom and they have to take care of him, Sanji feels the weight of the world crushing him completely. His whole universe is crumbling down. Chopper gives something to Usopp to help him sleep for a while before they start asking him questions, and Sanji literally goes into breakdown mode instantly. He repeats "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I should've helped you sooner. I should've known. I'm sorry. Love. I-" next to Usopp's bed. Nobody wants to say anything, but Nami is the one to approach him and tell him that it's not his fault. Nobody noticed anyway. But Sanji shakes his head and explains that he should have known because he knew he was in pain, he just didn't know it was that bad. And then something like this happens:

Chopper: Sanji! I'm not mad, but... If you knew something was wrong with him, you should've told me. I'm your doctor, after all. Sanji: I know. I know. I'm sorry, Chopper. I know. I- Zoro: This is not something you can keep to yourself, curly, you should have said something. If something happens to him- Sanji: Do you think I don't know?! What the fuck did you want me to do?! Zoro: I don't know, tell somebody instead of keeping it a fucking secret and risking his life? Sanji: ... He told me not to tell you. Zoro: Awesome. Next time I get stabbed I'll just not tell you. Nami: You don't tell us now, anyway. Sanji: See? This is the fucking problem. It's not the same! You wouldn't understand and that's exactly why he didn't want you to know. If marimo gets fucking stabbed, he'll sleep the pain away. If Usopp gets hurt, he'll- He won't be a burden. He could never be, but- But he'll think he is. Do you have any idea of how hard it has been for me to see him like this?

Long story short, Zoro and Sanji fight like always but Nami stops them and Sanji stays with Chopper and Luffy waiting for Usopp to wake up. They will eventually find something to help Usopp deal with the chronic pain, don't worry. I just really like angst.

as a deep Jyn Erso lover I do also wonder if part of the reason she’s kind of.. written as she is in the movie and expanded materials is due to the Disney reticence at actually unpacking the base structures of having a main point pov character who’s both child soldier and a freed prisoner/death camp survivor. that stuff is there, it’s in the text of the movie, but it’s also not something that would be overly lunch-box Strong Female Character cartoon appropriate to dig into more, which is probably... kind of why they didn’t

Had a thought. Bear with me.

Tony hasn’t controlled his money since he was twenty-five years old. There’s a reason he tells JARVIS to make lists, to put in orders, to schedule deliveries. It’s why he buys exorbitant gifts and offers jobs and pays for meals. He can’t just offer people money.

Which is why Rhodey has to come in and give his signature when Tony says he wants the team to have emergency credit cards.

“Do you know what constitutes an emergency,” Rhodey asks Tony carefully as he has them fill out paperwork. He is not unkind about it.

“No,” Tony admits.

Rhodey reaches out to the table, and everyone obediently puts their pens down, even though they’re very confused. “I have Tony’s power of attorney over his bank accounts,” he tells them seriously. “I know you won’t abuse the trust Tony is giving you. I just need you to know that I do go over the accounts to know what he’s spending so I know when I need to rein him in, so don’t buy anything on those credit cards that you wouldn’t want me and Tony to know about. Tony is very bad at keeping secrets.”

Clint and Thor go back to filling out their paperwork, shrugging, but Natasha, Steve, and Bruce look deeply uncomfortable, not picking their pens back up. “Why?” Natasha asks simply, frowning.

“When I’m manic, I spend like crazy, and while I can afford it, when the mania fades, I just feel bad,” Tony admits. “I can’t draw out cash specifically so JARVIS can ping Rhodey with abnormal spending habits. One time I tried to buy a ton of almonds.”

“A literal ton, like two thousand pounds,” Rhodey adds.

“Mania?” Steve repeats hesitantly.

“Are you saying—Tony, do you have bipolar disorder?” Bruce asks, eyes wide.

Tony shrugs. “I was told… Manic depression? I was diagnosed twenty years ago though, so the terminology has probably changed. I never kept up on therapy. Always felt like the board was just looking for excuses to commit me,” he admits uncomfortably.

“He gave me control of his accounts after he spent three million on junk cars because he was going to fix all of them. The mania faded before he could, so he just had three million dollars worth of junk cars and no energy to fix them,” Rhodey explains.

Steve’s eyes dart between them. “I don’t know if…” he begins, reaching his hand to push the paperwork away.

“Tony and I came up with the parameters of what should be his ‘normal’ spending together,” Rhodey assures him. “Sat down with a lawyer and accountant and everything. I don’t willfully nitpick every transaction he makes. I just keep my eye out for weird spending habits so he doesn’t attempt to pull out a hundred grand from the bank and pass it out to anyone he meets on the street on the way home.”

“I remember that,” Natasha says suddenly. “So part of the reason you were so pissed about his birthday party when he was dying—”

“His spending was weird and I was worried,” Rhodey confirms. “Like I said. Tony trusts you. I just want you to be aware that I’ll see your spending, too. And I wasn’t kidding about Tony being unable to keep a secret. He has access to the bills too.”

“If he has questions about me buying ten gallons of mustard, that’s his problem,” Clint retorts immediately.

“YOU DON’T EVEN LIKE MUSTARD,” Tony thunders, and Rhodey sighs and puts his head in his hands.

“Do you guys not know what an emergency is?” Steve asks, dismayed. “You think that would be an emergency?”

“I’ll give you the list of guidelines Tony has,” Rhodey sighs. “Although I do appreciate you trying to keep your card specifically for emergencies, Steve. I sort of didn’t expect anything less, but feel free to buy yourself a coffee or something every once in a while.”

“No,” Steve says flatly.

Luckily everyone is very respectful of their cards when they find Rhodey and Tony going over bills together because JARVIS flagged an uptick and they were trying to figure out if it was a “the team is unexpectedly expensive” thing or a “Tony is edging slowly upward and the first sign is that he bought a yacht” thing.

also it’s incredibly important to me personally that the reason tony wins in all three final fights in the iron man trilogy (and even in intermediate conflicts, like when stane takes the reactor or the fight with vanko in monaco) is because of his friends. because he has given and has the kind of loyalty to his loved ones that his enemies just don’t have. pepper is there with him to blow the reactor in im1. rhodey in im2. pepper and rhodey (and jarvis) in im3. happy hits vanko with the car. he wins because of those relationships, because that is his heart. and it’s very good.

apparently, I talk about nine a lot more than I thought I did LOL

while hanging out with my friends, I mentioned the post I made about how I thought twelve was like nine and why he's my second favorite when one of them interrupted and said "so, we know you've got a thing for grieving, sad dilfs" and I went "?!?"

One thing you gotta know about me is that I will quietly unfollow the fuck out of anyone on tumblr who reblogs or posts anything even remotely positive about Tony Stark, like I will politely show myself out SO FUCKING HARD they won't even know what hit 'em. - probably because they are unlikely to notice it at all

#obviously if we are friends i will not unfollow you but I follow a shitload of random blogs #and so i just bail at the first sign of bad vibes - or worse - BAD MEDIA TAKES.#it takes so much self-control not to reblog the thing myself and trash talk tony stark on it but that is their happy space not mine #buT GODS I HATE HIM SO MUCH. I watched endgame at home with my wife and we both literally cheered when he died #he's an abusive neglectful father figure but the writers and directors seem fully unaware of it I don't know what else to tell you #original #it's one thing for a character to be an emotionally manipulative piece of shit but it's a whole other ball game when #apparently the writers still think they wrote a really cool guy. and that is basically Tony Stark in a nutshell.#that man doesn't get a character arc he gets a character death. that's not the same thing.#I probably wouldn't hate him so much except my wife hates him so deeply and that has really made it unavoidable how much he sucks #and also he has that Wolverine syndrome where he is treated as the main character of every ensemble he's in no matter what #it is ALLLLL about Tony. at the end we see Tony has a hero's funeral. Black Widow is unmentioned. as Irrelevant in death as she was in life #she died doing what she loved: wearing tight clothes and making snarky quips. her two most important character traits.

Aside from tony my archnemesis and cosimas Fucking hair oh my god #i think like 90% of the reason i dont like cosima aside from she judt kind of annoys me a lot and has awful taste in women is her hair #its so weird bc shes like a lesbian stoner stem major so youd think id wont her So soso much given my track record. stares out the window.#but she annoys me so much sometimes its like Cosima shut the fuck up dump delphine and if you make me look at shay again im going to kill #you before your genetic disease does. WHATEVER #looking out the window wistfully I couldve made the show so much better #anyways. eith spn the Pre 2016ness is mainly The racism and The sexism and The cultural. everything #isrg theres this one ep of spn that i was like omf yass bc it had a little kid ghost who died from drowning. which given youd think #itd freak me out and it does bc drowning. but i also loveee a dead little kid ghost and i especially love adead kid ghost haunting one of #their friends/siblings whos old noe you know. so i was like woo #and then they were like and her nanny was black Maybe its voodoo!!!!! and i was immediately like excalibur #and then it was legit a rollercoaster bc i was like Shut up about voodoo shut up about it and they were like no it couldnt have been the #nanny it was the sister and i was like thats #better . and they were like THE SISTER IS DOING VOODOO qnd it was like oh my god okay.#idr what it ended up being in the end. i was so exhausted by the end of it #but the 2014ness of orphan black is mainly. ok im gonna be real its the episode after donnie and alison become drug dealers and theres that #montage of them on the bed with all the money. the cringe i cronged #it was like such a soberingreminder i was like Woo show show show i love show and then that happened and i was like This show is from 2014.
