people went insane about the last two pages which, valid, i cackled out loud myself, but there's so many little details in this chapter that make my head spin, like:
nayuta getting her classmates to give her their desserts. that's so insanely petty i love this child i love that she's still very much the control devil and a little shit
the scale of the mass deaths and disappearances makes so much sense and it's gonna keep getting worse, and it's good to see how it affects everyone in society. so far we've mostly been seeing orphans who've lost their parents but kids themselves are just as likely to die, if not moreso!
asa's recurring dream.......... What Does This Mean
oh i'm losing my mind about this one. "report any persons inciting fear" could mean anything, from reporting wannabe doomsday prophets out of worry they'd increase the fear and thus the power of devils, to grifters, to an excuse to report and jail anybody who says anything about the government as "people inciting fear" lol
Tumblr media
also yeah this is affecting the entire world. fun
I FUCKING KNEW HARUKA WAS GONNA BE A FIRE PUNCH SUN STAND-IN I KNEW IT. SUGAR WE ARE GOING DOWN SHIT IS GONNA BE SO AWFUL
watch the chainsaw man society get more and more powerful, watch as pochita's powers decrease, watch as eventually something happens to turn awe and adoration of chainsaw man into utter terror and thus increase his power
there's something really nasty about the talk show host inviting teenage haruka who's seen so many people die and is obviously so dedicated to chainsaw man in part because the world is so fucked up just to poke fun at him, like his classmates weren't murdered a couple of weeks ago.
i really, really like the use of mirrors here. genuinely
Tumblr media
also fami's "you don't need to think"........ hmmmm the makima parallels are increasing
a world without evil.......... yeah they're gonna try to use pochita's powers to erase some things huh. we know yoshida talked about erasing death a while back huh
g-d i generally have absolutely no feelings on yoshida whatsoever except that he's fucking hilarious. hysterical even. gosh denji sure is good i plucked you out of class huh!!!!
he is certainly not beating the accusations either lmao
also denji losing his mind at public safety (bc no way this ain't public safety or a government org) putting their hands on nayuta......... emo
you know for all the jokes about yaoi it's definitely kinda chilling that denji would propose sexual favours in exchange for nayuta's safety. like idk if fujimoto is ever gonna explicitly state that denji is a csa survivor but it's hard for me to not think of this as another clue in that direction
only one week wait this time YIPPEE

The parallels between the first time Armand kisses Daniel as a mortal and the first time it happens right after Daniel is turned are driving me insane!!!
As a mortal:
"He'd come silently out of the shadows into the moonlight, a young boy in dirty jeans and a worn denim jacket, and he had slipped his arm around Daniel and gently kissed Daniel's face. Such warm skin, full of the fresh blood of the kill. Daniel fancied he could smell it, the perfume of the living clinging to Armand still. (...) Daniel had been trembling, on the edge of tears. And why was that? So glad to see him, touch him, ah, damn him!"
As an immortal:
"He steadied himself, but the sight of Armand made him want to cry. Even in deep shadow, Armand's dark brown eyes were filled with a vibrant light. And the expression on his face, so loving. He reached out very carefully and touched Armand's eyelashes. He wanted to touch the fine lines in Armand's lips. Armand kissed him. He began to tremble. The way it felt, the cool silky mouth, like a kiss of the brain, the electric purity of a thought!"
Armand: *puts his mouth on Daniel's*
Daniel: *instantly starts shaking all over*
So much had changed, so many years had passed, but Daniel's reaction stayed the same. Armand's kisses made him lose his mind! He began trembling and wanted to cry, scream, touch, kiss, and never let go. My boy is absolutely head over heels 🥲 Imagine their first kiss post-reunion, Daniel was probably like one of those toys with shaking heads that start wobbling like crazy when you touch them 🥲
Anon, I want to thank you so much for this ask!! Because oh my gosh, yes, he's totally head over heals, totally desperate to be close to Armand and touch him, you're so right! Both kisses are so intense and powerful! Daniel trembling and shaking with desire and the sheer overwhelming emotion of it is just chef's kiss. You can absolutely feel the love he has for Armand in both scenes.
I think a lot about how in that first passage, Daniel was probably scared Armand had vanished and he'd never see him again. He's trying to write, trying to find some semblance of normalcy in the world when he knows the monsters it contains, trying to cope with the fact that vampires exist and he may never find them again. And then suddenly there Armand is, kissing his face, arm around him, burning from the blood of someone he'd killed (Of course our boy is into that! Daniel being so into Armand as a monster is my jam) and he's literally on the verge of tears with relief.
The second time, he's just so enamored with how he sees Armand with his vampire vision, the way he notices every little detail of his face, the light in Armand's eyes, and the way the kiss now feels like such an electric connection fusing them together. Anon, I'm going to cry!
So their reunion kiss has to be equally incredible! Daniel nervous and trembling, because it's been so long, because time and distance have created a gulf of uncertainty between them. But then there Armand is in front of him again, his personal devil, his immortal lover, his beautiful maker, and I'm sure in some ways it suddenly feels like nothing has changed.
I don't know when it happens. Is it a stolen kiss in some empty room of Trinity Gate, a brief encounter because they've snuck away for a moment to be alone? Is it on the street in New York after they go hunting together, the streets slick and glittering with rain? Is it back in Armand's bedroom, Daniel standing there unsure if Armand is going to kick him out before sunrise?
Wherever it happens, I have no doubt it's an incredible moment, Daniel's hands trembling as he grabs fistfuls of Armand's shirt fabric because he's clinging so tight, Armand trying not to tremble himself as he reaches for Daniel and their lips finally meet after so many years apart. How soft and jolting the kiss is at the same time, how it quickly turns passionate and desperate as they hold each other and don't want to let go. 😭💖
Thanks so much for the ask, anon, this has been such a great thing to spend my day thinking about. I'd love to know what you (any of you) think their reunion kiss was like, any and all versions of it, because no matter how or where it occurred, it was definitely memorable.

THIS UPPPDAAAATTTTEEEEEE!!!!!! OH I WANNA YELL ABOUT IT.
The way you drew Cass, her emotion from worrying about Jr., the kraang infection taking over her movements, the tears as she *knows* what's happening but has no control to stop it. 😭 *Chef's kiss* I am floored with how it's portrayed.
God, and Leo, not wanting to fight back for the sake she might still be in there, fighting her own battle against a kraang.
I'm so in love with every little piece you gift us. ❤️ take your time to create and rest ❤️
ASDFGHJ-
Oh my GOSH- yes...YES!
It literally brings tears to my eyes reading the whole comic through because I fell in love with Cass and how she presented herself at the start so so much. I fell in love with how she was so soft with Casey, and to take that away like...from her...I ~literally~ broke my own heart.
Oof...and Leo...who doesn't wanna hurt the person whose kid he's been looking after for months. And to see her so close to probably death just adds insult to injury for him, yeah.
But thank you gah! 😭🙌 Mending my lil broken goon heart in the meantime 🥹
I honestly hate this comic so much/lh
There's so many disgusting parallels I hate it

Thoughts and Observations From the Movie, Part 3/4
Hello! It part 3 of mine silly thoughts and observations from the Rise movie :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I stopped to look at and highlight this scene mostly because mmm good angst. Leo is an absolutely ferocious fighter, no sarcasm or exaggeration here, but he’s extremely sentimental and kind and protective of his family in turn. As someone who absolutely breaks down when a compromise cannot be found to reconcile two conflicting morals, Leo’s hesitation to fight a threat to his family that happens to be part of his family is downright painful.
Can you imagine the deflated feeling of dying hope that comes with seeing a glimpse of a vulnerable Raph in a body no longer under its owner’s control? To think you saw your brother shine through only to realize you were wrong? It looked like Raph’s pain because the mind in control exhausted the body. Ouch.
Further content below the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
FURTHERMORE! This parallel is everything to me. Leo makes a very similar expression both times, and the shot of his face shows his head angled in the exact same way, both times. Both times, Leo’s life is in danger, and both times, Raph is there.
The difference is that the first time, Raph is protecting Leo’s life, and the second time, Raph is the danger to Leo’s life. Note also that Raph is physically placed above Leo when he’s trying to save his brother, and Leo is placed physically over Raph when he’s trying to save his brother. Visually speaking, these cues are genius, and I absolutely live for that. It’s what makes both scenes so powerful without most people even realizing there was a connection or a visual representation of the emotion involved.
Tumblr media
More Donnie love/angst! This scene also strikes me as being incredibly boosting of Donnie’s strength. Someone else half pointed something here out, and I want to amplify it: Donnie likely has the least prowess with his ninpo/mystic powers out of the four brothers, which gives a little more meaning to this part.
Recall that Donnie was most reluctant to embrace magic, first off. One, because he has some amazing technological mastery that allows him to accomplish many of the same feats magic can, so he finds value in being able to do that without the help of some outside source that doesn’t have any connection to his ability. And, if you remember the episode where he and April visit a witch town, you know that it goes deeper than this in that he’s scared magic of any kind is in itself something that can render him obsolete; because it’s his ability with tech that defines who he is on the team, at least in his eyes.
All that to say it took him the longest to embrace and learn to use his ninpo, really. And once he did get to that point, it was made clear that he used it to enhance his mind’s ambitions and create mystic tech. He’s good at what he does, but each brother has a distinct style or purpose to their ninpo, and while Donnie’s is helpful and overall cool in its own right, by nature it’s not a protective magic like, say, Raph’s.
So, Donnie has the least experience with his ninpo, and shield making was very definitely not his forte, which means that in this scene it can be assumed the shield he makes to protect him and Mikey is already not very strong, and as it was the Krang punched through it like it was nothing. He and Mikey are both temporarily knocked out as they’re hit out of the sky, both going completely limp in their freefall.
(As an aside, GOSH I love Donnie being protective over Mikey, just an A+ trope. I might make a separate compilation of screenshots showcasing all the times Donnie and Mikey hung onto and protected each other, and it’s a surprisingly high count)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Immediately after Donnie and Mikey are yote out the sky, Leo directs Raph to go save them, and I wanted to show the screenshot he does this in because I missed the tears in Leo’s eyes the first few times I watched the movie.
Leo is utterly terrified for his brothers. Pressure is high, he only just got the four of them out of their last immediate danger, and these boys just threw pretty much everything they’ve got at a literal world-ending threat with no effect. Then, without so much as 10 seconds to breathe when coming to this conclusion, both his little brothers are knocked out of the sky, and he had to send his only big brother away to make sure they don’t straight up die, leaving Leo completely alone with an enemy he can’t seem to beat. I’d be crying too, man.
Additionally, I’ve always been curious as to how exactly Raph grabbed both Mikey and Donnie just before engulfing the three of them in a Mega-Ninpo-Raph-Projection. Now I know, and, yeah, it does look like a giant hug. I’m soft for how caringly he wraps them in his arms, almost like he’s cradling them. No doubt he’s got the same fears as Leo running through his head at a million miles a minute, and as an eldest sibling myself I’m impressed with how well he kept his composure.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

Um. Izzy WAS rude first in that scene, though. The first thing he says isn't "still it's a nice room", it's "I was thinking what a complete misuse of space this is" or some such Badminton bullshit--and that's deliberate. He's deliberately being paralleled with Badminton with that line. Fucking piece of shit Izzy apologist bullshit.
My darling! My peach! Thank you for pointing out the true meaning of this scene, which, obviously, is the historical art of
COURTSHIP THROUGH CONVERSATION
As you and I both know well, dear heart, a popular publishing genre of the time was SAMPLE DIALOGUES between a wooing lover and a coy mistress -- as seen here, and here, and here, among many other places, several of which also include Etchings of a Curious Nature that I may only Hint At ere I too quickly tax your Gentle Sensibilities.
But leaving that aside, my darling moon and stars and small heavenly bodies that have been previously miscategorized as planets but that I nevertheless hold sacred in my heart-- there is a delightful subset of courtly conversation that, quite clearly, and as demonstrated by the canon and by your own dear letter, applies not only to our own tentative trembling tryst but also to that of Stede and Izzy!
I had not considered the matter before now, but your sly missive, so artful in its gentle tease and saucy in its declarations, reminded me strongly of what the sages called Mock-Complements, or Drolling-Complements. That is to say, when two would-be lovers, attempting to enter into a courtship but hesitant to appear too forward, treat their conversation with one another as if enemies rather than the hot-blooded lovers that they so dearly wish to be.
And so, just as your dear note falls between those lines, so too does that conversation between Stede and Izzy! For as you well know, since you most definitely reviewed the scene so as to ensure utmost accuracy in your thoughts and feelings before penning your note of Deep Romantic Interest as to My Person, behold:
Between a Roguish Sailor and a Fallen Gentleman. The Rogue, all courtesy How goes the fuckery? The Gentleman, his sharp reply What are you doing in here?
My God! What flirtatious delight! What promise of future connubial bliss! Look how clearly the Gentleman attempts to indicate the mode by which he wishes to be wooed! No sweet embrace nor honeyed words for him-- he seeks the speedy wit of a clever lover, pushing away with one hand while beckoning with the other, all Beatrice to his would-be Benedick. See how very intentionally Stede behaves rudely first, because gosh, protagonists can very much be assholes in their own right regardless of the motivations of any nearby antagonists who happen to be sharing screen time with them and for whom perhaps the audience is overly concerned with demonizing to the point of willfully ignoring the very literal previous dang line of dialogue--
Which, of course, you know! Because you too studied this scene with care and attention, and so, with your letter, wished to draw my notice to the deeper meaning of this clearly loving moment. My thanks, dear Sibyl, sweet Relevator of Forbidden Love, for urging forth this understanding.
And yet! A sad conclusion is simultaneously revealed. The tragedy of this bathic pairing is that while Stede has studied the modes and methods by which he can indicate his interest, Izzy has not had as thorough an education in the Artful Ways of Wooing. Rather than a fanciful rejoinder, he instead mirrors Stede's gambit-- a noble attempt at meeting his would-be paramour halfway, but sadly, only a Recipe for Missed Meanings. Our sad Izzy's reply would seem to parry the Gentleman's overture, rather than enjoin it-- and leads them, thus, to the Comedy of Errors wherein now they find their love, and also Ed is around here somewhere.
But never fear, my pocket pumpkin of pleasant fancies-- I will not make this mistake! Just as you so kindly dropped your handkerchief of Rather Ridiculous and Perhaps a Touch Juvenile Displays of Media Illiteracy before me in hopes that I might take it up for you, so too shall I offer it back again, perfumed with the hopes, dreams, and delights of our no-doubt felicitous and quite impending nuptials.

Janner x Sara headcanons? (from the Wingfeather Saga)
*Spoilers for books 1-4 of the Wingfeather Saga*
When they meet again after book 4 they start off very shy with each other, because they have both been through a lot and, really, they only had the very beginnings of a relationship before they were separated in book 2 (they do think of each other in subsequent books, but neither knows that about the other one). It is, of course, obvious to everyone else in the castle that they are majorly crushing on each other, and everyone has various approaches to dealing with that (Kalmar and Leeli actively try and set them up on dates, for instance).
Okay, wait, what would be really cute would be if Janner went to Artham for advice and Sara went to Arundelle for advice because they have SO MANY parallels as characters and in their relationships oh my word-
*cough* Anyway, pretty sure the adults in their lives (including Nia, btw, they both definitely talk to Nia) urge them to just, well, talk to each other. They finally do, sitting out on Castle Rysen's hill, in the new green grass.
Sara tells Janner how much he inspired her, Janner tells Sara about how thinking about her helped him not lose hope. They talk about all the stuff that's happened to them since they parted in the Fork Factory and after a day of laughing and crying at each other's stories, they're closer than ever and understand each other so much better.
After that they start getting more comfortable around each other. They invite each other on little dates and start giving each other little gifts. Janner starts writing Sara clumsy little love poems and gives her the best ones. Kalmar makes sure the "worse" ones find their way to Sara as well. xD
One day, Janner takes Sara out sailing, just the two of them. It's been one of his dreams to sail on the sea for as long as he can remember and as much as he loved the idea of sailing all by himself... sailing with Sara is infinitely better. They end up just sitting on the ship's deck, snuggled up together watching the sunset, letting the ship drift... and then ten minutes later jointly panic because they promised they'd be back before dark and oh my gosh where even are they-
Janner uses the stars to find their way back and finds out Sara enjoys stargazing and knows quite a few constellations. "That's good, it's good for a sailor's wife to know the stars." "What?!" "NOTHING!"
They make it back long after dark to find Nia and Artham smirking at them on the dock. They don't even get lectured and somehow it's worse (and more awkward) than if they'd gotten in trouble.
Alright, I'll stop there, hope you enjoyed! :D

I just had a slightly terrifying very angsty thought;
What if Bruce was killed in public while in Brucie persona
Like, I Know that's just impossible, but Somehow someone crashes a gala or assassinates him during a public outing or like during a speech right after a big battle has already happened and he's Tired. The last one seems like it has a Chance of happening.
Gotham Loves their prince in his tower. Their Brucie Boy. The citizens would be distraught. The Waynes, back together, but at what cost? He's with his parents, but now all his children are orphans, again. If he was killed in a large crowd, there's a mob after who pulled the trigger. If none of the kids are around, some stay by his side to try and help, but ultimately...
His family would be-gosh-broken(? I haven't read any stories where he dies so I'm not actually sure how the family reacts in cannon), definitely angry and loosing sleep looking for the killer, Jason definitely has his guns ready and loaded for the bastard's skull. Damien. Damien hasn't lost family like this, let alone his Father. Who seems so impossible to kill, but dying. Dying like his grandparents did, too. Just-so many parallels with baby Bruce and Damien in this situation, maybe he was even there, also tired from fighting the good fight, but...Alfred is-Alfred has lost 2 house masters, all these kids have died at least once, but not Bruce. This time it's his-Master Bruce can't tell him to stay in the mansion. He's taking a shotgun and going with Jason. None of the kids have seen Al like this. Unbound by Bruce's house rules, Bruce wasn't keeping Alfred safe, he was keeping the world safe from Alfred. I'm not well versed in Cass, Steph, Tim, and *reads smudged ink*sunray boy w actual powers, but at the least Cass is Pissed, someone that understood her needs and took care of her and taught her, gone. And it was Bruce. Whoever did this, is never seeing the light of day again. And Dick...the first rob, Nightwing, the oldest, the one that's seen the most of it only outshown by Al. He......
And the villains of Gotham? Mmmmhm. Some are just like every other Gothamite and wouldn't Dream of laying a hand on Brucie Baby(what kind of scum goes after Brucie Wayne?! LET ME OUT-I'LL FIND THEM MYSELF-), some know his identity as Batman and with them, some even respect him considering they get their ass kicked. And of course the ones that don't care about another billionaire dying. Actually, I have the villains more thought out than like anything else (I like bad guys, sue me)
Mr Freeze-Bruce helped take care of his wife. He's not ok with this death and...maybe he can experiment on bringing the 'ice lad back to life
Bane-uhhh I'm not sure on this. He knows his identity, he has some respect for him?? (I'm gonna admit it's been a while since I've rotated Bane in my mind) Maybe not, he broke his back pretty good once and the whole I was born in the shadows you merely adopted it? Is that just a movie thing? More shadows for Bane?? More lonely in the shadows??
(wow I instantly lost steam when I started this villain section -n-)
Harvey-Now this is the one I've thought the most on(because Angst). Harvey Dent is Horrified and Angry. That was Bruce Wayne! That was His Friend! That was BRUCIE WAYNE! He's breaking out and flipping a coin to either go to a funeral or finding the bastard that did it. Maybe Both.
Joker-oh joker. Oh John Doe-eyed-for-your-nemisis clown prince. Sometimes he knows his favorite person under the mask and sometimes he doesn't. It really depends on his mood. If he doesn't know he doesn't care. Brucie Boy's number 1, would he ever target the other prince?(has he?)would he care if someone else did? Don'know. Maybe he figures it out through the absence of Bats in the weeks following and he goes to the bitch that ended his fun. Maybe he does know and is already on their doorstep, gas and c4 ready. Really? Idk. It's Joker, Have Fun With It
Anyway, where's the fic?(and if someone makes it or finds it can I pleaseeee be @ 🙏)
Omg this was supposed to be short, but I went back and added more ADD rambling to it. This took too long to write😴
😴😳 MAYBE SOMEONE EVEN SPILLS TGE BEAMS ON HIS IDENTITIES! ACCIDENT OR OTHERWISE!😳😑😴

Draco Malfoy and Zacharias Smith are two of a kind
“He saw me hex Zacharias Smith,” said Ginny. “You remember that idiot from Hufflepuff who was in the D.A.? He kept on and on asking about what happened at the Ministry and in the end he annoyed me so much I hexed him — when Slughorn came in Ithought I was going to get detention, but he just thought it was a really good hex and invited me to lunch! Mad, eh?”
Being assaulted by a member of the trio circle for being annoying. And the female attacker is seen as badass for doing so.
Harry recognized Zacharias Smith, a Hufflepuff player whom he heartily disliked.
Draco: Welcome to the club, Smith. Want a Potter Stinks badge? Potter loved his so much that he still has his in book 7. I think scarface gets off on people hating him or maybe it's just exclusive to me 😏
This effectively stopped Zacharias wondering loudly whether the two Weasleys were only there because Harry liked them, and he started on Peakes and Coote instead.
Zacharias being meta. Not afraid to voice his criticisms of Harry.
“And I think Harper of Slytherin’s seen the Snitch!” said Zacharias Smith through his megaphone. “Yes, he’s certainly seen something Potter hasn’t!”
Going out of his way to diss Harry.
“Ginny, where’re you going?” yelled Harry, who had found himself trapped in the midst of a mass midair hug with the rest of the team, but Ginny sped right on past them until, with an almighty crash, she collided with the commentator’s podium. As the crowd shrieked and laughed, the Gryffindor team landed beside the wreckage of wood under which Zacharias was feebly stirring; Harry heard Ginny saying blithely to an irate Professor McGonagall, “Forgot to brake, Professor, sorry.”
His assault being played for laughs. Being attacked for words - a JKR staple of her unlikable antagonists. Ginny is such an A+ bitch. Probably more than Hermione. Gosh, she sucks. It's almost like JKR wants to give Ginny more parallels with Harry as his budding love interest by giving Ginny her own Draco to have beef with.
In fact, the Gryffindors were generally much more interested in the upcoming Quidditch match against Hufflepuff, for many of them wanted to see Zacharias Smith, who played Chaser on the Hufflepuff team, punished soundly for his commentary during the opening match against Slytherin.
Gryffindor students having a vendetta against him.
Zacharias Smith, who had so far failed to maintain possession of the Quaffle for longer than a minute, was suffering from something called “Loser’s Lurgy.”
Performing badly at Quidditch against Gryffindor for plot reasons. Lord knows the lions can't win without their opponents being idiots.
Zacharias Smith was escorted from the castle by his haughty-looking father.
Haughty fathers.
Draco Malfoy 🤝 Zacharias Smith
No wonder Zacharias and Draco are such fun friends in Hufflepuff!Draco fics. He's almost like the Hufflepuff version of Draco. I need to look up some Zacharias fics! Any character that hates Harry is automatically intriguing to me.

Just Bildad
Rating: G
Wordcount: 941
Prompt: An evening/goodbye hug
-
Crowley wasn’t sure how long he sat there on the rock with Aziraphale, staring out at the sea. Long enough that the sun had started setting, painting the clouds pink and gold, reflecting off the waves in rosy purples. It was easy to sit in silence when you were both looking at the sea. Crowley didn’t quite know what to say to an angel who’d just learned he could only go along with Heaven so far. Aziraphale didn’t have anything to say, either, apparently preoccupied with thoughts of his own. It didn’t feel right to leave him here alone, though. Crowley had spent so long alone. If he could help it, Aziraphale wouldn’t have to.
Something disrupted the rhythmic sound of the waves. Footsteps in the sand. Crowley turned to see Sitis walking towards them from the house. “Um…hello.” Her eyes flitted cautiously to Aziraphale, and then she waved uncertainly at Crowley. “I’m glad I caught you, Bildad the Shuhite.”
“Just Bildad is fine,” said Crowley. “What’s up? Everything going well with the new goats?”
“What? Oh, yes, the goats are fine.” Sitis glanced again at Aziraphale, then back to Crowley. “Could I talk to you for a moment?”
“Er…” Crowley glanced at Aziraphale, who had turned back to the sea, away from Sitis. He probably didn’t want a human to see an angel in distress. He noticed Crowley looking, glanced over out of the corner of his eye, and nodded.
“Sure,” said Crowley, smiling at Sitis, gathering up his robes, and getting to his feet. “I’ll only be a moment, angel.”
Sitis did not lead him back to the house, as he expected, but off across the sand, parallel to the shore. When they were out of earshot of Aziraphale, Sitis glanced at him sidelong. “My daughter tells me you’re a demon,” she said nonchalantly.
Crowley chuckled. “Your daughter has quite the imagination.”
Sitis cracked a smile. “You aren’t wrong. But I don’t know many Shuhites who can conjure children from ox ribs.”
Crowley’s steps slowed. Perhaps it was a mistake to follow Sitis this far out. He wondered whether Aziraphale would even notice if she discorporated him here.
“Tell me something.” Sitis turned to face him. “Those children in my house, the…‘new’ children. They are my Ennon, Keziah, and Jemimah, aren’t they?”
Crowley glanced back at Job’s house. “Yes,” he said quietly. “Your children were always safe.”
Sitis nodded, exhaling slowly in relief. “Okay. I don’t know what happened today, but that’s all that matters to me.”
Crowley nodded. “Probably best you don’t know.”
Sitis smiled in wry agreement. “Whatever your part in this was, thank you.”
“Probably best you don’t do that, either,” said Crowley, wincing. “I’m just a humble midwife-slash-cobbler from the land of Shua.”
“Yes—yes, of course.” Sitis shook her head. “Well…Have you eaten? If you’d like to join us for dinner…”
“Ngk. Ah…gosh.” Crowley wasn’t in the habit of eating dinner with humans. He’d probably make an awful guest. “That’s…awfully nice, but I had a big lunch. Ox ribs, they really fill you up.”
Sitis laughed. “Okay. Well, I suppose this is goodbye, then.”
“Yup.” Crowley saluted. “Take care.”
As he was about to turn and leave, Sitis stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him. Crowley stiffened. He could count on one hand the number of times he’d been hugged by a human. He’d never been hugged by anyone who knew, or even suspected, that he might be a demon. The hug was a little awkward, but there was genuine gratitude in it. After a moment, Crowley raised his arms and hugged back.
“Alright,” said Sitis, pulling back and nodding. “Safe travels.”
“You too,” said Crowley, and then remembered that she was already at home. “I mean, er, take care.” She turned back to the house, and Crowley turned back to Aziraphale.
Guilt tugged at him when he saw Aziraphale’s lonely figure sitting on that rock, still looking out at the ocean. Crowley wasn’t the only one Sitis should be thanking. Aziraphale had done as much as he had, and paid a bigger psychological price. He deserved to be hugged, too.
Maybe Crowley could pass it on to him. He could go back, wrap his arms around the angel, and tell him that he was so much better than those other angels who wouldn’t lift a finger to save Job’s family. And they could sit there, hugging by the seaside, until the sun finished setting and it was dark enough to see the stars.
But Aziraphale was in the thick of a crisis about his angelhood, and angels did not hug demons. If Crowley hugged him, and he enjoyed it, that would only destabilize him more. Maybe someday, when he’d gotten used to the idea. But not now.
“Oi, angel,” Crowley said instead, as he neared the rock. As Aziraphale looked up, Crowley jerked his head towards the house. “Fancy some more ox ribs? Sitis invited us for dinner.”
Aziraphale’s eyes lit up. He turned eagerly towards the house before he could stop himself, then hesitated and looked, puzzled, at Crowley. “Both of us?”
“Yep. C’mon, let’s go.”
He’d find some way to explain it to Sitis. Surely she wouldn’t stop him from bringing his friend along—or, rather, Bildad the Shuhite’s friend. Aziraphale would need a pseudonym, too. Zophar, or something. At least Sitis wouldn’t ask any awkward questions, now that she was satisfied that her children were safe.
Aziraphale might ask some questions, if he realized he hadn’t actually been invited. But Crowley would just tell him that he was a demon. Of course he’d lied.

You and I exchanged some ideas via anons a while back about a new way of thinking about Getaway Car. Basically Taylor has been calling herself a robber and bandit since reputation. And her Lover was also a robber/bandit. In Cowboy Like Me she talks about finding someone else who is a bandit like her and they unexpectedly fall in love. But then in the infamous line in ITTG, she says basically I’ thought you were a twin from my dreams (cowboy like me), but you were a crook who was caught.’ And the idea was that the problem here is not with her lover being a crook, it the fact that she was caught. And in Getaway Car we have them being Bonnie and Clyde (basically lovers who were also bank robbers) and Taylor takes the money and the getaway car and leaves her lover behind (turned her in), presumably to be arrested or caught. And we can connect this to Afterglow where she put them in jail for something they didn’t do. The suggestion here is that Taylor thought Karlie was a cowboy like her and could beard and swindle the public and get away with these “crimes” too because they were playing the same games. But she didn’t realize until later that Karlie’s situation was not the same. In some way. Your opinion was that this was representing the beginning of love blackout from Glitch. Taylor left the public relationship behind and Karlie was the one to face the consequences.
Today I was thinking about Hits Different, and again Taylor calls her self an outlaw, but it’s not romanticized here. An asshole outlaw. She always skips town like an asshole outlaw, which is basically an exact parallel to her stealing the getaway car, leaving behind her crook partner in crime to be caught. But this time it hit different. This song is about her in the past being able to leave behind her partner in crime when the going got tough, but this time she can’t move on, it’s too devastating. Which could just mean what the straightforward meaning to the song is, that this relationship is so different, she couldn’t just leave when things got tough. But we know that this isn’t really Taylor’s MO throughout her life. Particularly with the love that’s attributed to Jake and Harry, she certainly wasn’t able to just move on. Those supposedly were on and off for a long time with her pining after them and not getting over it for years. It does fit Calvin and Tom of course, but that is just a tiny part of her history. But if we look at it purely through a gay lens, and looking at major themes of her lyrics since Afterglow, with Peace, Coney Island, so many songs from Midnights, she’s apologizing for and regretting putting her image and career first, and specifically apologizing to Karlie for so much that happened because of this attitude.
Whether you think it’s all about a fake feud and love blackout, or you think it’s her regretting breaking up with Karlie and just publicly ignoring her existence while she mourned the loss, it all really fits.
gosh, getaway car is really appreciating like a fine wine, isn’t it?? someday i want to revisit its place in the rep tour setlist and think about it’s function there.
if tumblr ever allows me to find my own damn post i’ll reblog what we talked about before!
aha. here it is. and here’s the original post that prompted you to send the ask

Theory Four - Overlords and their Purpose
Hello Wayward Sinners!
I hope you are having a very lovely day! I am here to post a theory I’ve been mulling on for a while: How are overlords made in hell, and furthering on that, how did Alastor become an overlord overnight? All that and probably a little bit more in this theory. Also, before hand, some exciting news: We have a Kofi Now! Plus a Twitch and Youtube channel in the making. I am genuinely so excited to make this go a little bigger than I anticipated. I realized how passionate I really am about making content. I’m gonna give it a go. Here is the link to the Kofi and Youtube channel! Youtube! Kofi! Also oh my gosh we got thirty submissions for the My Little Slice of Hell project. Like oh my god?? What? I’m literally so lucky and so grateful. We have so many amazing voice actors who auditioned. I’m so excited to work with so many of them as our cameos, and our fandub-ists. They’re literally so amazing. I’m baffled by the excitement they’ve all shown. This is like watching dreams come true people, seriously.
Okay, onto the theory. My primary theory for the overlords is that they sinned so much in their life that they indulged in it. They took their sin with pride, wearing it like a badge of honor. I think Alastor is a particularly interesting take. We know Vivienne said she wouldn’t be using real life parallels, so Alastor mimicking the AxeMan of New Orleans isn’t likely to happen. If this theory ends up being true: I don’t think Alastor’s sin is very cut and clean. I think Alastor indulged in multiple sins which is how he really rose to power so quickly. Probably unapologetically as well. I think he indulged in Pride, Wrath and Gluttony. Three of the seven sins which is a bit of a big deal. He indulged in wrath because when he came to hell he wanted to make a helluva name for himself. With pride, well, I don’t need to explain myself. He’s unapologetically prideful in his own abilities. Gluttony is for his obvious cannibalism. I think the fact he indulged in so many sins is literally the reason he is so powerful. Then we have overlords like Vox and Valentino. Vox I think is probably too prideful. Valentino is probably Wrath and Lust based. I’d say wrath because of how he treats Angel Dust and obviously Lust. I think that there’s something to be said for overlords who team together. They’re not likely in it for friendship, more than likely it’s for power. I don’t think Vox power wise will be able to hold a candle to Alastor, and neither will Valentino. But with both of them together, they’re probably close to, if not more powerful than Alastor. I wonder what that means for the other overlords of hell through the series. I can’t wait to find out what the purpose behind overlords is, and how they relate to the series. That's all for now, what do you think?
Stay Tuned!

About your latest ask. I was pretty sure that ep5 drop scene is a fake memory, but what if it's really just a parallel, as in Lestat being petty and copying what was done to him by Armand. Gosh it's awful to laugh at this, but it would be so extra, because even words are similar.
Oh, I also think it's an implanted memory, actually. (I get the petty part, and yes it would indeed be extra, but I do not think Lestat would have done that in this way to Louis. His later rape (into vampirism) of David Talbot is in quite the different situation, in a mindset where he tries to convince himself that he is evil, that he is the same as Magnus - that... is not that, imho.)
Not all parallels will be literal in regards to the revisits I think, and there is a reason why so many book readers squinted at that scene :))
I think we will get to see that scene as a parallel, maybe even presented as petty as you said... and then maayyyybeeeeeee Daniel will hook into it once more? You know? And then unravel that one from thereon as well? *shrugs* Something like that. But neither wording, nor the bite was a coincidence, given what happens between Lestat and Armand.
There's enough hints and leaks about season 2 already to know that they are going to dig into Lestat's and Armand's shared past as well, and... well. That is a big, big part of it (and especially the forced bite (if translated literally: tried rape) is one of the reasons why Lestat rejected Armand after all) - that simply cannot be skipped, though of course it will be interesting whether we will get to see it as such in season 2, or if this will be a point of "discussion" in season 3.

rambling commentary of the nxx boys' eng name etymologies and how i think theyre so so fitting
wc: 1.4k
disclaimers: name etymology is hugely expansive cuz a lot of the same names naturally occurred in different cultures with different meanings. or similar names had converged from different cultures through time. basically, names can have a Lot of meanings, and if i went thru every single one we’d be here for far too long. so i just picked out the meanings i found most interesting in conjunction with the respective nxx boy :D
-
artem wing: the greek goddess of the hunt + safety
starting with artem cuz hes the one ive got least to say about HAHAJKSBJSD
his surname is straightforward, thats just Part Of Bird, and in terms of interpretation, it could easily be seen as a great reflection and/or symbol for the wing family's achievements. bryan wing, kimberly an garner, and artem wing, are all so accomplished it's as if their ambition and skill reaches towards the sky. his first name tho is what interested me more.
"Artem" is the Ukranian form of the Greek name "Artemios" which is derived from, you guessed it, Artemis herself, goddess of the hunt (and a whole lot of other things).
mythologically, a whole BUNCH of interpretations and links can be made between artemis and artem, but the one that stuck out to me most is the fact that artemis is widely regarded as one of the most venerated and respected greek deities. a really nice parallel, imo, to artem's own incredible reputation in stellis. but something thats also cool is that the name "Artemis" could possibly be linked to the greek word ἀρτεμής (artemes) which means "safe" which, again, is a nice parallel to artem's constant quest to be seen as both a reliable person to mc and one that will protect her. and also just his general vibes, artem gives off the comforting vibes of a weighted blanket. world cruel, artem safe,,,,,
-
marius von hagen: the roman god of war + pasture
second is marius because ive also got not much to say jhavskfha
the surname, “Hagen” comes from the Old Norse word “hagi” or the Old Dutch “hago” with both of those meaning “pasture/enclosure” the prefix “von” just means “from” so we’ve got “from the pasture/enclosure” which is fitting, given marius’ background! he comes from a rich family, definitely a background where many would say the grass is greenest.
first name gets fun, though. “Marius” is derived either the Roman god of war “Mars” or from a Latin root word “maris” which means male. the former is way more interesting than the latter, so im going with that, HAHA.
fun thing about Mars; while he and Ares, the Greek god of war, share a lot of mythos and have a bunch of similarities, a key difference was that the concept of war Mars was connected to was a kind of conflict that focused on bringing peace. and the Roman word for peace is, you guessed it, “Pax”
peace through war is a pretty oxymoronic concept but it’s one that fits marius pretty well. hes not going to war in the literal sense, but hes very much not a character who idles and waits for things to happen. when conflict occurs, he goes out to the metaphorical battlefield and fights the fight to bring a more peaceful state to whatever’s going on. this can be said for all the nxx boys of course, theyre all fighters/defenders for peace. but it’s interesting that marius is the one who got this concept in his gosh dang name…
-
luke pearce: light and rocks and also the BIBLE, probably
okay heres where i’m gonna start going off KJBAJBKJAF
“Luke” derived from the Greek “Loukas” means “light”, “bringer of light” or “bright one.” his surname “Pearce” is of English origin, meaning "son of Piers" but over time, the spelling changed. “Piers” is also thought to have been derived from the Greek word “petra” which means “rock.”
from this alone, theres a Lot to work. luke is sunshine boy, so true, i dont even have to explain that at all, we can all See It. luke is also a rock, not in the sense that hes dumb as rocks (though that is sometimes also so true) but it’s fitting in terms of connotations of strength and determination. with the word meanings alone, it’s already very appropriate name for luke
it’s also a PRETTY BIBLICALLY CATHOLIC NAME.
if artem and marius were getting linked key figures from Greek and Roman pantheons, luke is getting linked key figures from the frigging new testament: Luke the Evangelist and Peter (from the word petra) the Apostle. sure, this is a reach, but whos to say? WHOS TO SAY? LUKE (TOTLUKE) WANTED TO FRIGGING NAME HIS FIRST BORN SON “PETER” (mentioned in SSR Peaceful Place)!!
it’s more likely that the biblical aspects are coincidences and luke’s first and last name were chosen solely for the word etymology, but even if it’s a coincidence, it’s a Super Fitting One cuz huge chunks of luke’s angst and guilt is something i have always seen as vaguely catholic in nature (tho thats probs cuz im a lapsed catholic so it’s instinctive for me to see him thru this lens lol) BUT ALSO cuz both Luke the Evangelist and Peter the Apostle were martyred
and luke pearce has a martyr complex (i.e. self-sacrifice and service to others at one’s own expense and detriment) big enough to block out the sun hvksajhfavskhjfasf
-
vyn richter: nothing at all but…
// general spoilers for some vyn cards and backstory ahead
this is gonna be the longest one because “Vyn”……doesnt mean anything
deadass, “Vyn” has NO POPULAR ETYMOLOGY and the only thing i found after more digging was a vague relation to the Old English word “wyn” which means “wine.” which is vaguely hilarious and so valid, for vyn to name himself after a thing he really likes. king shit moves
but thats a key thing with vyn: he named himself. or rather, he was given a birthname and then chose a different one once he left svart and started a new life in stellis (sidenote: very trans vibes of you vyn, i approve!!!). vyn’s birthname is “Vilhelm Richard Albert de Haspran”
and THATS A MOUTHFUL and a lot of names to explore. one by one, these etymologies go as:
“Vilhelm” is the Scandinavian form of “William” which is from the Germanic name “Willahelm” composed of the elements wil which means "will, desire" and helm which means "helmet, protection"
“Albert” is from the Germanic name Adalbert meaning "noble and bright"
“Richard” comes from the Germanic elements ric which means "ruler, mighty" and hard which is "brave, hardy."
“Haspran” is made up and doesnt exist anywhere except in tot but that makes sense since the prefix “de” used in aristocracy just means “of” and pertains to the royal house that person belongs to, so “de Haspran” just means “Of House Haspran”
every single one of these names in his birthname is….well, it’s a LOT EXPECTATIONS JSDHFJSDJH. it’s a Royal name with strong, powerful, and frankly high-pressure connotations. vyn left this name when he left svart, and then he picked a first name which
doesnt have a set etymology at all
his chosen name reflects the action he’d done: hes no longer a ruler with expectations he didnt ask for, hes a blank slate and hes writing a new life onto it. he no longer holds all those lofty meanings, hes free to make whatever meaning he wants to
now thats his first name. his surname, “Richter”, is his mother’s surname which he adopted (mentioned in SSR Food for Thought). also mentioned in that card is a Bunch of lore on vyn’s fam background, most notable being eirik’s (his father) failure in keeping the marriage between jill (his mother) alive. vyn’s retelling of this story has some Vibes of Resentment towards his father, so i figure taking his mother’s surname could deffo be a subtle “fuck u” to eirik
but also “Richter” has a great etymology. it comes from the Middle High German word “rihtære” which means “judge”
so here vyn is with his name thats both a blank slate for a new identity and also a symbol of the role he’ll take in the nxx team. hes nobody but who he makes himself to be: the presider of judgement, the arbitrator, the Adjudicator.

Is it just me, or does Hordak seem surprised during the season 4 finale when Horde Prime reads his mind against his will, yells at him, resets him, etc.? We often draw parallels between Hordak and Catra, but when Shadow Weaver abuses Catra, Catra is scared and violated, but not surprised. Getting repeatedly tortured by the Torture Entity™ sucks, but it isn't a complete surprise, esp. if you know you've done one of the things that it thinks you deserve to be tortured for. Why is Hordak surprised?
Ah, this is such an interesting ask, but the scenes it requires me to assess... well, let's get through it!
I don't know that I'd call Hordak "surprised." There are many emotions he goes through during the season four finale, but actual surprise - the sense of encountering something unexpected - isn't one I'd count among them.
Let's go through the scene expression by expression, shall we?
Tumblr media
So, the opening interaction between Prime and Hordak - when Prime holds his face in his hands and reads his mind - is what I expect you mean when you say "surprised."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I can see why. Hordak's eyes go very wide, and out-of-context, he certainly appears to exhibit the stereotypical "eyes wide, mouth slightly open" surprised face. But watching the scene in its entirety, he doesn't really seem like he's facing anything unexpected, per say.
Rather, his expression immediately prior the wide-eyed one is one of apparent pain. Recall, anon, that at this moment, Prime is commenting about how he cannot see Hordak's thoughts while we hear the sort of whispers associated with Prime's hivemind. This suggests that the reason for Hordak's discomfort is that Prime is trying to forcibly reconnect him to the hivemind he's been disconnected from for so long. Forcing his way into Hordak's mind and thoughts, if you will.
It is at this moment that Hordak's eyes go wide, and his ears sort of... fall and straighten outward, a bit. His expression going slack, compared to the gritted teeth and squinting eyes we've just seen.
Essentially: as Prime successfully enters Hordak's mind, Hordak just sort of. Goes limp. Not on purpose, I don't think. On reflex.
It's not an expression of surprise. It's a muscle slackening associated with Prime breaking through and reconnecting Hordak to the system.
Tumblr media
Then, as Prime rummages and paws his way through Hordak's thoughts and emotions, we get more dramatic gritting of teeth and tensing of features: evidence of increasing discomfort. Perhaps even of fighting back, trying to keep Prime from seeing his most private, precious thoughts.
As the scene progresses, we move on to the next set of expressions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of this is "surprise." Hordak isn't shocked by what's happening. Rather, he knows exactly what's happening. He may have tried to reassure himself, during all those years on Etheria, that if he just did well enough, Prime would welcome him back, but now? Faced with Prime? Realizing that all of those reassurances were just that, and promptly remembering what Prime is actually like?
Hordak isn't surprised. He's desperate. He's like... hm... how to say...
As a child, did you ever do something wrong, know that your parent was going to punish you terribly, and try to reason or bargain with them to avoid that punishment? Like, knowing that you were going to get screamed at, or hit, so you started begging them not to. Telling them that you were sorry, that you wouldn't doing it again, that you'd do this chore or that, just to avoid the punishment you were so afraid of?
That's what Hordak is doing here. All of his desperate coping fantasies have fallen away in the face of reality, and he is absolutely terrified of what is coming. So he's trying to placate Prime to avoid being hurt.
Tumblr media
Finally, as Prime pulls back, we see... gosh, I can't even say. Hope and fear and longing and just... Hordak wanting so badly for all of the hardship and despair and pain of the last thirty years to mean to Prime what they mean to him.
But we all know how that turns out.
So. I wouldn't say "surprised," anon. I'd say that Hordak goes through an awful mess of emotions comprised primarily of fear, pain, desperation, and lost hope. I'd say he goes through these emotions because, rather than finding Prime's actions unexpected, he knows exactly what his god is going to do to him. And the understanding both terrifies and breaks him.
