while i do think michael’s grace and adam’s soul are holding hands in there just given how they like to do things with one of them in their body and the other one projecting a body for themselves i think michael would refrain from touching adam at first because he wasn’t built to be gentle he was built to be a weapon for his father’s use and he’s never been good at being anything BUT that and adam is so small compared to him and he means so much to him and michael is half afraid that he’ll hurt him somehow. like he’ll let ADAM do things like shove him when they’re being playful or put a hand on his shoulder if he’s trying to be comforting but michael is never the one to reach out first. until postcanon when his father’s influence is no longer staining the world and he’s finally learning to be his own person and he reaches out and very very very gently takes adam’s hand in his. because he’s slowly leaning into the concept that maybe he can be more than the tool he thinks himself to be and he WANTS to touch him and because adam doesn’t push him away despite everything he’s done. he just sort of looks down at their joined hands and smiles

I have been pondering the recent rash of "post canon NHS and LXC would never ever reconcile bc even if NHS wanted to have Er-ge back, LXC would never ever forgive him for [insert reason of choice here]" type of posts + the "do you think NHS thinks very hard about how much Da-ge would hate him for becoming [the way that he is now] by choosing to seek vengeance" type of posts, and I think fundamentally the reason these posts do not jive with me is that we have no indication, in the show or in the book that uh, NHS gives a shit about either of these things very much anymore?
The first type of post is predicated on the assumption that LXC's forgiveness or lack thereof some some sort of either extension of mercy (which NHS obviously does not deserve <- or so assumes the post) or some form of punishment (which is obviously the correct answer) but the last scene we get with NHS both in the book and the show make no indication that this is a thing he wants? Or cares about? Book NHS has *sauntered off* with his little hat trophy and Show NHS walks off screen after saying something along the lines of "What is my responsibility I won't shirk, what isn't my responsibility I won't care about." Now, arguably, show NHS is having a worse go of it emotionally, but shows no real inclination or interest in either apologies or making up and being friends again with LWJ, LXC, WWX, or other people. Book NHS seems pretty pleased with the outcome of the events as a whole?
The second type of post is predicated on the fact that NHS finds Da-ge's judgement a horrible burden to bear at this stage in the game, which! He might! But again especially in the book we get no indication that he has any fucks left to give about what Da-ge may or may not have wanted since Da-ge is dead. In both the show and the book, NHS went about revenge taking very specific and complicated actions with the desired result of JGY dying, but he certainly took the scenic route getting there, which, he didn't need to? As I've written about before, JGY didn't see him as a threat. If he wanted JGY dead he could've arranged to poison JGY's tea like, 10 years ago and had done with it instead of his complicated Rube Goldberg life ruining scheme. If he is still sickly anxious about how Da-ge might feel about the scheming and the trouble causing and the whole everything, that's certainly possible, but he must've decided it was worth it anyway regardless of that, and I don't know that it necessarily would've changed just because he got what he wanted at the end.
Overall, I think as a fandom we think a lot about like "will and should this relationship ever be repaired or similar to how it used to be?" and "does this character deserve/not deserve the forgiveness of people they've hurt or abandoned?" which can be interesting questions! I do feel like these are often taken as "is a character morally good (deserves to be forgiven) or morally bad (deserves to rot in hell forever never forgiven ever ever)" and based entirely on if Character is the meta writer's blorbo. Under this paradigm the concept of "Character did bad things to get exactly what they wanted and were happy about that and no relationships were ever repaired and the emotional detachment of people they used to care about no longer matters to them!" is uncomfortable.
It's just that for NHS I've increasingly come to the conclusion that canonically, I don't think NHS thinks he has anything to apologize for, nor is he super interested in being forgiven! He got what he wanted the way he wanted it to happen. Which is potentially supremely unsatisfying but I think is very sexy as a narrative concept.

Math, according to the anti’s
Elain avoids Lucien every time he is in Velaris + Elain loses her newfound boldness around him =
"Elain is scared of just how well Lucien knows her. She is scared how much he sees her. She is avoiding him because she feels too much for him."
Like, come on babes. How can he see her if he’s not even there? How can he “know her too well” if he’s NOT THERE. If she avoids him, how is that because she’s secretly pining for him? Especially when multiple characters comment how she is uncomfortable in his presence?
Azriel receives an order from Rhys to "Stay away from Elain" + Azriel is forced to tell Elain "this was mistake" hurting both of them =
"Azriel avoids Elain after solstice because he doesn't like her and knows what he did was wrong 😑 the BC ended Elriel!!"
Really guys? That's what you took away from this very clear chain of cause and effect? That Azriel, out of his own will, suddenly decided he's done with Elain?
Azriel, desperately in love with his woman, is agonizing over why the Cauldron didn’t pick him as her mate + Azriel, willing to beg on his knees for a taste of her =
"azriel is an incel fuckboi! He only feels lust for Elain! He feels entitled to her! "
Sorry didn't realize having attraction for your love interest in a ROMANTASY was bad now.
Azriel goes after the already mated Elain Archeron + after 500 years, it seems Azriel has moved on from Mor =
"Azriel only wants a mate! Thus, he waits 500 years and suddenly goes after an already mated female!"
He never said he wanted a mate. Where did this come from? He wants Elain and Elain only. Also, if he wanted a mate, why would he even be going after Elain in the first place? Wouldn't he go for any available female? He's not stupid, he knows she's not his mate. So why still pursue her if he only wanted his mate?
Majda says a mate should be able to figure out what is wrong with Elain + Azriel figures out her powers, freeing her from her murky realm with his understanding =
"Well, Azriel just figured out her powers. Her powers aren't what was wrong with her. Azriel just figured out her powers because he was excited the night court got a new weapon. And Rhys figured out Nesta's powers too, so it doesn't matter."
Come on. Literally she said, more importantly, SJM wrote, "if anyone can figure it out, it's a mate." And then AZRIEL figured it out. Is that not obvious?? Her mate was right there so he easily could've buzzed in at anytime with the correct answer. But no. It was Azriel.
Azriel, canonically, wanting to get on his knees for a chance to taste Elain + Azriel buying her a custom necklace + Azriel giving her truthteller + Azriel sitting with her in the gardens =
"nah, azriel doesn't like her. He's just like an older brother trying to be nice to a sibling that won't leave him alone and he pities her."
Idk how your sibling relationships are like, but maybe you live in Alabama or something. Bc that is clear attraction. Those are not mere acquaintances. Those are literally two people with big fat crushes on each other
Nesta tells Azriel "You're the new ribbon, Az" + Azriel remains unphased when Nesta and Gwyn and Emerie get taken for the blood rite =
MATES. Gwynriel are MATES. There is no other conclusion or possibility. She looked at him once and he raised a brow when she squealed. They are endgame meant to be.
Y'all just look silly now. Have you never been around a man? Is that it? Is that why you think perfectly platonic reactions are somehow signs of true love?
2+2 = 4. It is the right answer. It is the proven answer. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops and twist canon every which way and taint every interaction Elriel has with your scathing commentary just to make your ship work. Stay mad that your ship has 0 romantic moments 🙄

Sun helping others doesn't mean he stopped being suicidal..
When you're suicidal.. it's very fluctuative state.. suicidal thoughts comes in crushing amounts and some time later they can lessen.. but it still doesn't mean that someone isn't suicidal..
Like.. I always liked helping others and I was struggling with a lot of issues and I had suicidal thoughts..
You have better days.. and worse days...
Also does anyone remember when Moon said "I'll check on that later" and he was talking about Sun's comment to computer "Shoot me.. let's end this already".. It was in "Sun and Moon vs Mimic" episode...
And Moon never checked on that.. it was never brought up again...
Fans quickly forgot about it.. saying that Sun expressed having suicidal thoughts only that one time when he said "sometimes I wish I was dead"...
That's sad to be honest...
I blame mainstream media for how people see suicide. It seems that people think that only seemingly depressed people commit suicide which is untrue. In most cases people who killed themselves didn't have any diagnosis.
Another thing is that when someone is suicidal.. they're giving hints and clues that they are suicidal.. And I see this with Sun..
Even if others don't see anything it doesn't mean that there are no hints and clues..
And with Sun there's a lot of that and I talked about it a lot as well..
Another thing is that people are confused by the fact that people don't always commit suicide in "irrational way"..
Many people have plans, even very specific and detailed plans to end their own lives..
Unfortunately people often times think that those who commit suicide are selfish which is totally untrue..
Getting back to Sun.. we don't see his p.o.v. on events that are happening.. like for example we don't know what Sun was thinking when he and Moon found out that star is slowly killing Eclipse.. He walked away to think about it but we still don't know to what conclusion he got.. Or after his encounter with New BM Sun wasn't saying anything.. like he could even say I won't ever forgive them or I won't be giving anyone another chances... But he was silent when Moon and Solar were talking about the fiasco of their hunt for BM... Or he was silent when Earth said that maybe Eclipse could've changed...
Like we know a lot of p.o.v. of other characters, like we know more even about Solar.. and ofc I'm not talking about emotions but about characters thoughts regarding something..
And well.. Sun barely talks his thoughts out on any situation.. and again I'm not talking about ideas.. but thoughts which allow us to connect with said character more...
And that's why probably so many people don't understand Sun's character.. because showrunners don't give us his p.o.v. even if we get to see what he's doing...
Like why we don't see Sun questioning his own morals like he gave BM a chance and yet he seems so adamant on getting rid of Eclipse.. Something doesn't add up... The only thing Sun is doing is that he's recently voicing more of his intrusive thoughts.. and that's it.
We know that Sun is thinking about villains a lot cause he mentioned Eclipse a few times before he returned or now he was mentioning BM a few times as well... But we don't actually know what he's thinking! Like tell us! Tell us already something, Sun! Share your thoughts with us!
I'm sure that it's intentional on showed part.. We can't find out what Sun is actually thinking about various things.. not yet at least...
I really think that they're heading for some shocking reveal about Sun.. it won't be probably shocking to me but that's because I'm paying attention to what is happening with him...
At the end I like to bring up what I realised recently..
We know that Sun not always is cleaning the Daycare.. sometimes others do that for him e.g. Solar and Moon.. I don't remember in which episode it was but Solar said that they finished cleaning up the Daycare just like Sun likes it..
Which shows us that Sun doesn't even clean up that much.. He told about that to Earth during therapy session..
Someone could've thought and probably many really thought that it's a good thing cause he isn't cleaning so much anymore..
But when you realise that Sun isn't doing much beside cleaning - he only spends a whole day at computer.. So what he's actually doing?
Like I said he doesn't have that much involvement in plannings with Moon and Solar, he most of the time listen to their commands.. He doesn't contribute that much to plannings..
I think that Sun showed Solar and Moon how to properly clean up the Daycare because then they'll be able to clean it up on their own after he'll kill himself..
They don't need him.. that's what he thinks and that's why he's passing down his knowledge to others...

Din Djarin x Reader Headcanons Pt. 2
Summary: You and the Mandalorian become something more than merely hunting partners.
Pairing: Din Djarin x fem!Reader
Warnings: Me waxing ridiculously poetic about him. Implied smut towards the end.
Here it is! Part 2 of my Mando headcanons! Hope everyone enjoys the payoff! So sorry it's so long -- I sure had fun writing these :) Din Djarin is pretty much perfect, and anyone who thinks otherwise just hasn't seen enough of him.
*Translations of words/phrases in Mando'a at the end
A couple of weeks go by after the shower, and you avoid each other except when necessary, as if by an unspoken agreement
Din just needs the time to sort all his thoughts and feelings out, as he's suddenly questioning everything
So he comes off as more brusque and distant than usual, which is really saying something
You can see the turmoil seething underneath though, so you give him space and just hope his final conclusion isn't that he needs to be alone again
It ends up being the opposite
After a particularly deadly hunt in which you were both confronted with the very real possibility of the other one dying, you retreat to your makeshift quarters in the hope of sleeping off some of the distress that's still eating at you from the inside out
You don't hear his approach, since he's stripped off most of his beskar besides the helmet
But when you look up, he's looming sullenly over your bunk
You stubbornly stay silent, waiting for him to make the first move
"I can't...lose you"
He can't believe he's said those words so plainly, but there they are, hanging in the cold air between you
You find you can't speak or the tears might finally fall, so instead you cling to him, shoving your head into his shoulder and letting your fingers dig through his dark undershirt into his back
His answering embrace is crushing, and you remember just how deeply attached this man can become to another being
"Don't leave me, Din Djarin," you whisper "I love you"
He's quiet for a long moment, but this time you don't doubt him, you know he has a much more difficult time with intimacy than you do
"Cyar'ika" is what he finally chooses to hum, and that single word means more than any poetic verse or lengthy admission
"Stay with me tonight," you request softly as you finally pull back from his strong arms "rest with me in the darkness, let me hold you"
And he actually does
You can't really see him in the blackness, but your light mattress dips dramatically to his weight as he joins you, and you eagerly pull him to you as you both settle
Dank farrik, he's so warm as he lets you curl into his now bare torso -- you may never let this man sleep without you again
Perhaps it's because you both could've been killed today, but he exhibits none of his usual hesitancy as you burrow closer to him, his arms folding around you and skin meeting skin
This may just be the most relaxed you've ever experienced him
He's surprised you remember a few of his scars from that time you two showered together, and if they're ones he recalls, he tells you a few stories of how they came to decorate his body
You can't get enough of the way his voice growls deep in his chest against you, without all that armor in between
Although you know that it will be a long time before you ever get to truly see his face, you learn a few things about him, there in the dark, and it helps you imagine him a little better
You like the way his scruffy stubble scrapes against your cheek when he leans over to murmur in your ear; you hadn't expected him to be unshaven but you find the idea suits him
His hair is glorious, thick and slightly curling where it's longer, a tantalizing blend of silky soft and coarser strands, and after the way he stiffened the first time your hands strayed into it, he actually seems to enjoy the sensation of your fingers brushing through it
He talks to you more on this sightless, bare night than he has in probably your entire partnership so far
He lapses into his native tongue as sleep starts to overtake both of you, and even though you're rusty and don't understand all of the phrases, you're completely his as soon as you first feel the sensation of his full lips forming words against your shoulder and the back of your neck
The two of you rapidly become much closer after that night
It's not unusual for your hands to linger on each other when you're repairing the ship or during other quiet activities while you're alone
Though when on the hunt, you two maintain a very professional civility and not much else
He's become much more fiercely protective of you, though he'd deny it, but you see and it makes you smile
Shared showers become more commonplace, and he shares your bed on the nights you ask him to
But he's always long gone by the time you wake up
Mando'a is coming back to you the longer you stay with him, and sometimes the two of you converse entirely in that tongue for days
Your first kiss takes you by complete surprise, and he hadn't planned on it either
It was after a successful hunt in which you'd pulled an admittedly stupid stunt to come out on top, and no matter the fact that you were relatively unscathed, this man is angrier than a rancor that you would put yourself at risk like that for a few extra credits
You are his now, after all, and he's nothing if not ridiculously protective of what's his
"I never want to see you do something like that again" he seethes, and though he doesn't raise his voice you can hear the fury roiling underneath
"Stop fretting over it, Din, I'm here, aren't I? Nothing happened"
You hear the grating exhale beneath his helmet, too many emotions he's not familiar with surging to the surface from where he's bottled them up, but all he knows is that if you won't let his words pierce your thick skull, he'll have to show you what you mean to him
You can't keep back a yelp of shock as the lights go out
There's a click and a clang as he rips his helmet off, probably the most carelessly he's ever done it
And before you can process a thing he's nearly on top of you, and his lips are devouring yours, and kriff you never thought kissing him would taste so good
When he finally releases you so you can breathe again, his forehead is resting against yours, the Keldabe gesture you only faintly remember receiving from your buir, and it makes your heart ache to feel it from him
"Now" he huffs "I won't be seeing another stunt that foolhardy from you again, do I make myself clear?"
"Understood, Cyare"
He doesn't let you out of his grasp throughout the night
It takes a long time to eventually achieve further intimacy beyond a kiss, though you know he's thought about it, and you definitely do
Perhaps unsurprisingly, he's the one dragging his feet -- you've wanted this for a long time now -- but you didn't expect his reasoning for being reluctant
"How can you want us to share something so personal, when THIS is such a problem?"
You are completely lost when he vaguely gestures at his head, it takes a minute to process he means the fact that you haven't seen his face
"Din," you start, reaching up to trail a caress down the side of his visor to his breastplate "What if I were blind? Would you think my love for you less if I couldn't see you at all?"
That makes him think
"I know you, I've seen you at your best and your worst; I've slept beside you and learned all your scars with my fingers; but more than that, I see you here"
You place your hand over his heart, which you know from experience has most likely quickened at your gentle touch
"I love you, and if ever I am privileged to see your face I will only love you more, but I will not know you more, for I know you already"
"You are mine, Din Djarin, and you are mesh'la"
He can say nothing for a moment, too overwhelmed by your words and the fact that you respect him and his creed so deeply
It takes another few days of him turning it all over in his head -- though he's very good at making snap decisions, this is one that requires more consideration
He's quiet, and more efficient than ever during your next hunt, if that's even possible, and you can tell by his sharp movements that he's on edge
When you return to the ship, he gently but purposefully guides you to his quarters, a place you've hardly stepped foot inside for the entire time you've been here, and your heart starts beating erratically with anticipation
"Do you still want this?" he asks
"More than anything"
The darkness swallows you both in its welcoming embrace
Your Mandalorian is the lover you've always dreamed of; he can be gentle -- so soft with you it's maddening -- or rough enough to make you plead for more
He tells you in undertones just how highly he thinks of you, all the things he's always too stoic to say out loud, but your love seems to have finally loosened that stubborn tongue of his and you bask in it
You sleep that night in his bed, for the first time of many
And he's still there when you wake, as warm and solid as ever, one arm thrown around your body and his other hand twined in your hair, your foreheads pressed together, and dank farrik you love this man so fiercely you know you would kill or die for him
"Welcome back," he teases as he feels you shift against his body "You were out cold"
"And whose fault is that, Djarin?" you kiss him softly "I didn't think you'd still be here"
"I wanted to watch you wake up for once"
You smile and sink back into his hold, since he seems for once in no hurry to move his day forward
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, Din"
He brings your hands up to play with his hair, and makes a pleased sound deep in his throat when you pull a little -- who would have thought he would like that?
"Let's do this again sometime?" you hum
His chuckle, barely audible, thrums into your ribcage where his chest presses against yours
And his kiss, coupled with the reverent fingertips drawing heated trails up your spine, gives his reply more eloquently than words ever could
Eventually, life does remind you both that it stops for no one, and you rise to return to the more familiar routine of a pair of bounty hunters on the run
But, as it turns out, your Mandalorian makes an excellent NON-platonic shower partner as well -- the poor 'fresher wasn't ready for that much steam ;)
Cyar'ika = Sweetheart
Cyare = Beloved
Mesh'la = Beautiful
Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum = I love you; I will know you forever

Do you think if Gonta kept his memory he could have won trial 4?
Okay I've thought about this for a little while, and I've come to the conclusion that he probably still couldn't have.
It kinda comes down to the fact that the whole "Killing Game Busters" plan was never meant to succeed to begin with. Kokichi was never going to let himself die in this trial, and I believe that even if Shuichi hadn't lied about him to his face, eventually Kokichi would've brought everyone to the true culprit of the case. He wanted to both "turn Gonta into a murderer" to make himself look more like the mastermind, as well as to break the spirits of everyone else to discourage them from seeking the truth ("This is the truth you all wanted SOOOO Badly!") so he could try to break the killing game with his plan written in his ch5 script.
The reason this matters is because the alibi evidence used at the end of trial 4 to finally convince Kaito that no one else except Gonta could've commited the crime is extremely damning. Every single person has an alibi for Miu's murder except Gonta and Kokichi, and Kokichi has that extra rule that he would freeze if Miu touched him. That leaves Gonta as the only suspect. And with this and Kokichi actively working against him, this would've made it very difficult to get out of.
The reason why it's not "definitely not" is because I still think there is a chance you could pin it on Kokichi. I always thought there was a bit of a hole in the idea that Kokichi couldn't have strangle Miu with the toilet paper because he couldn't touch her. I think he *could have*, it just would've been very difficult and he would've had to have been very dexterous about it. This makes it Gonta's word against Kokichi's. Gonta lying and Kokichi telling the truth.
Rather than being disoriented and half-accepting (as in, being confused about but not immediately outright denying) whatever accusation Kokichi threw at him, he could insist that he was searching for the Truth of the Outside World outside the mansion, and suggest that Kokichi is lying about being in the parlour and pointing out his agility/dexterity in the past that he could've used to strangle her. Plus the fact that they had made plans to meet in front of literally everyone.
It makes me wonder what Kokichi's plan would have been if Gonta hadn't lost his memories. It wasn't part of his plan- he couldn't really have known that 1. Gonta would cross the wires and 2. the impact of that mistake would have been memory loss. I think the trial would've been a different kind of painful for Gonta if this had happened. Instead of Kokichi suddenly accusing him and everything spiraling from there, I think Kokichi would've decided to "give up" part way through the second half of the trial and "admit" their plan because he and Gonta cared about everyone So Much and that they just wanted to help them. That everyone else should've Never pursued the truth of the outside world to begin with, and now both Miu and Gonta were going to die because they HAD to see the trial to the end. Even if never seeing the truth and accepting a mercy-kill would have been Better For Everyone.
Outside of trial logistics, I do think Gonta would've had it in him to manipulate everyone to try and reach the mercy-kill. I imagine he was feeling this very painful mix of depression, despair, and determination. He'd failed to protect every single person who had died before, so now was his chance to help them all. In any other headspace, a mercy-kill would not have been seen as a kindness by Gonta, but he was in a really terrible place mentally. I think he would've also not have wanted Miu's death to go to waste by losing the trial and killing her for no reason. I think he would've tried really hard to win.
We don't have any extended conversations with Gonta in the virtual world after he sees the Truth of the Outside World, but in the few that we do get, to me he seems a bit more reserved. It's also possible he would just not have been able to keep up the facade of his normal personality during the trial because of what he saw, which would have made him suspicious. If Kokichi did try to throw him under the bus, his panic at trying to win the trial may come across as panic in being accused, so maybe it would've cancelled out?
Regardless, because of Kokichi never actually being fully on his side to throw the trial, and because of the really strong evidence in everyone's alibis, I think it would've been very very hard for Gonta to win trial 4 even if he still had his memories.
Thinking about this did give me the mental image of almost everyone voting for Kokichi, and the results coming back that they were all wrong, and Gonta had just successfully gotten away with being the blackened. I think he would've just completely broken down. He would've apologized to everyone over and over again, both relieved that he managed to do it, and anguished for what was about to happen next.

So I was thinking about what Klug could realistically know about the book demon and its connection to Sig, given that it's so rarely elaborated on, and my conclusion is: more than he wants you to think he does.
Exhibit A: the ending of Fever 2
Tumblr media
The first thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that Klug is Right There while Ayashii is monologuing. I guess we don't really know what it's like to be trapped in a book, so there's nothing to suggest either way if he can hear anything... but we do see him look at stuff. Even if he can't hear, he can definitely see, so I think it's reasonable to assume that he'd notice a shift in Aya's demeanor when it sees Sig.
And if he wasn't looking at Aya, then surely he noticed that Sig's hand started glowing and his other eye turned red, right? Hopefully? If he wasn't too busy wallowing in despair, I suppose. Oh, the limits of character portrait-based cutscenes...
He doesn't seem to forget that the possession happened, though. When he's returned to normal, he's not confused about what's going on, he just tries to save face by saying it was all totally according to plan. And while he never brings it up again, I don't think it's ever been strongly implied that he forgot about it - if he did, one would assume that it'd be mentioned in his new Puzzle Pop bio, since it already references the event directly.
So, he likely remembers this, and if he was being observant enough, he could've at least noticed something was up with either Sig or Aya - maybe even both of them.
Exhibit B: Sig's story in 20th Anniversary
So, this part of the theory relies a lot on Klug's line delivery, so I'll include a link to the scene I'm going over. (It's got the timestamp ingrained in the link, but just in case, it starts at 12:49)
youtube
Structurally, this scene is... kind of odd, if you take Klug at face value? He's quick to ramble about everything he knows regarding Sig's arm when prompted, no arguments involved, but then he just. says that he doesn't know what any of it means, and demands a Puyo Battle as compensation for wasting his time.
Like. ???
You mean to tell me that Klug, the guy who's obsessed with gathering knowledge, who prides himself on being the know-it-all who can answer any question thrown at him, would be satisfied with saying he doesn't know something? Yeah, I don't buy it.
Let's go over what he says in more detail, and pay special attention to those line deliveries.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Klug speaks very softly during this whole section, as though he's lost in thought. I want to draw special attention to the line, "in comparison to the book I have here..." It's subtle, but his voice actually wavers a little bit on the last syllable. And he all but whispers the last half of "It's as if it's identical in nature," as if he's talking more to himself than Sig at this point.
He keeps up this vaguely ominous, deep-in-thought tone for the rest of his dialogue, until something very interesting happens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As he's going on about the Weird Vibes he gets whenever he's around Sig, he seems like he's about to go into more detail... and then Sig makes an innocuous "huh" sound.
Which is exactly when Klug pivots to sharply saying that he has no idea what they are. He doesn't sound irritated or panicked, just... I dunno, comfortably back in his usual, uppity tone.
Suspicious.
Amitie proceeds to theorize that the blue thing that sometimes comes out of Sig's back may have a connection with the red thing in Klug's book, and what do you know, Klug actually stutters when he denies the possibility.
Tumblr media
Suspicious.
Awfully bold of Klug to say that there's no way the two things could be connected after he just said that Sig's arm and his book feel like they have the same power, by the way.
This whole exchange reads to me like Klug got carried away with the topic of Sig's arm, and ended up saying a lot more than he planned to. He only snapped out of it when Sig's voice alerted him to what he was doing, and then he started hastily covering up his tracks. He had to dismiss Amitie's theory, not because he genuinely thinks she's wrong, but because he knows she's right.
And for some reason, he can't let them know that.
So I gotta ask. Why? What's he trying to accomplish by covering up what he knows? He likely doesn't even know the full story, so what does he think will happen if other people find out?
Maybe he just doesn't want anyone else learning about the book before he can make its power his own. He is rather possessive of it, continuously renewing it from the library with no intention of ever giving it back. Even with his tendency to blab, I could see him wanting to keep something like this a secret. Not just for the eventual power, but as a special something he knows that nobody else does - anything to boost that sense of superiority, even at risk to himself.
...And maybe, in the depths of his tsundere heart, he's trying to protect Sig a little bit, too. He knows that the demon is dangerous, and probably doesn't want to find out what would happen if Sig started pursuing it for answers. Plus, if he did notice Aya gunning for him back in Fever 2, then all the more reason to be wary.
(I'd still posit the idea of him trying protect himself as his primary motivation, and the only one he'd ever acknowledge, but I'm taking my "Klug cares about his friends" crumbs wherever I can, okay)
Of course, if his ears were working in spirit form, then that suggests he knows way more than I've been assuming, but. I'm not sure his behavior really matches up with that idea? He sounds like he's genuinely speculating about Sig and the book here, which would be a little weird if he heard it point and shout "AYO THAT'S MY DESCENDANT AND/OR TRUE FORM. GIMME"
...not that Sig himself seemed to hear that either, but that's besides the point

Ah, this one hurts, but angst is what I live for!
Okay so bear with me here( ᐛ )☞ The way I imagine things, Ororo is the kind of person who would go into shock/numb when she and the others all learn the kids are dead, when they see what happened to them, there wasn't anything they could've done to save them, but that doesn't mean anything, their kids are gone, and nothing can be done or said that would fix this.
Her actions are just as deliberate and violent as everyone else, but emotionally, she's held down by the crushing weight of her guilt, and when they all find out that reader was hers? It hits her like a sledgehammer, she didn't see it coming at all. How had she been so stupid? reading the notes reader left behind doesn't do her any better, and over all it just makes her more determined to protect the kids they have left, she doesn't want to lose them too, she can't.
GOSH, almost done with all seven, do you have any ideas for Raven?
🐑 Anon
That is how Storm would feel, 🐑 Anon, I agree.
She wasn't a stranger to loss.
She knew what death was. She knew what it was like to love someone and to be torn from them. She might have lost one family in her youth, but she gained another with the X-Men. They were hers, and she was theirs.
It seems fate had decided to take from them again.
Losing them... it was hard.
The numbness that spread from her heart to her mind... the tears that never seemed to dry... The pain that bled her heart and stained their hands... It never ceased.
Finding out that Reader was her own child...
That only sent her emotions further out of control.
When she and the others sought their justice, their revenge, the skies were filled with thunder and snow. The winds howled and the frozen flakes coated everything in sharp, thick layers of ice. Getting rid of the pests who'd taken from them, from her, was swift. Subzero winds and frostbite, freezing soldiers solid. Bolts of lighting striking down those who ran. The wind knocking over all who moved, ice bursting up to impale them...
It was a mere ounce of the pain they all felt. The pain she felt.
What's worse is the ones who took them try to defend their actions, calling it an act of science...
It was no act of science. It was an act of hatred, of greed, of pure corruption and foolishness. They took their life, their blood... It was only fair their's was taken in turn...
By the time it is done, they have all reached a conclusion, one that took them too long to come to. And while she is not happy that it has come to it...
It is the only choice they have left.
She lost a child. Reader was hers. It wasn't known to her or to them. And they would never know. She lost three other children that day as well. Kurt, a sweet, blue child, akin to a soft cloud on a bright day... Kitty, sarcastic and witty and warm, like sunshine... Pietro, quick and clever and Evan's best friend, a cool breeze in the heat of summer... and Reader... her own child... Her Evan's cousin... Her team's friend, sibling, child... A rainbow of love and empathy for them, a promise of warmth and care...
They were gone, all of them...
And they weren't coming back.
She did her best, trying to keep her emotions in check. Some days, she managed, and the weather stayed its course. Other days, she wasn't able able keep it in, and the weather turned harsh, wailing, Nature's own cry against her loss...
In the end, she did what she could to help their remaining kids. Raising them, keeping them safe, helping hone their skills and knowledge, so should anything happen, they would make it... Sometimes she finds herself comforting them, holding them tightly and drying their tears... Other times she is the one comforted, the other adults offering any peace or comfort they can to soothe her...
It is not perfect, what they have.
But it is the best they can do.
As long as no one else suffers what they have... suffers what their kids did... what hers did... Then they've done something right, regardless of what they've done to achieve it.
(For Mystique... she'd be going through it. She has three kids. She lost two. She's a shape-shifter, and Reader was an animal one to boot. She was able to reconnect with her other two children. Yet Kurt was taken, and so was Reader... Reader would never know how similar they truly were... How they were blood, they were mother and child... That two of their friends were their siblings... She'd be having a further breakdown, I think...)

i just wanted to share a little musing on why i think it's actually vital that kim was not around for the full-blown saul goodman transformation - reasons beyond, "saul is a sleazy jerk and obviously had no one he cared about, so they had to match established canon."
i know a lot of us theorized for years that maybe she WAS secretly behind the scenes during brba era, running her own practice or helping him out of sight, and maybe there's some way that they could've finagled it to make it work and have all the scumminess be merely a front to protect her, but after the events of S6, i'm relieved they didn't go that way. that would've been a kim stripped of her essence, her strength. that would've made what howard said to her seem true, and it wasn't. i know there's been a lot of talk, from me included, about kim essentially erasing herself and imploding in self-punishment/self-recrimination, and she did, but the choice to leave was also her clawing for any remnant of her soul that she could possibly still salvage. her staying - and worse, being okay with - saul as we know he becomes is a FAR worse tragedy, as devastating as the breakup is. she still loves him fiercely, but she knows she has to get out. watching kim erode as significantly as jimmy-as-saul does would've been horrifying, and there's an even bigger factor here - she could never have come back from that. to me, that's a much bleaker story. there is no hope for her in that story. there is only poison without antidote. if she were still with him for those events, her narrative would be far more damning for her. where would the chance be for her to ever climb out of that?
but she's gone. it may have been an act of self-loathing and self-sacrifice as much as it was self-protection, but she fled the warped image she knew she was becoming - and from that heartache and destruction, something new can grow. leaving gives her the chance of finding something in herself to hold on to again. it gives her the chance to slowly heal and rebuild. it hurts like hell that they couldn't do that together, it's supposed to, but there's resilience in her choice.
if she hadn't left, i'd be sure they were doomed. never to find one another again, never to have a chance at redemption (separately or together), or maybe even reunion (even if it's bittersweet and momentary). her leaving gives her possibility. gives her agency. i save me. and maybe, just maybe, it will grant her the power to help save him too, whatever that looks like or means. i feel that reconciliation of jimmy's arc won't even be possible without her in some way.
this is a tragedy, but the thing is - the tragedy has already happened now. we've seen it, or we know what it's coming to, we only don't know the final resolution. it doesn't have to be dismal and harsh - i'd argue neither brba nor el camino are! they both have breaths of humanity and recovery woven into their conclusions, and that's a far darker journey of the soul than bcs is in many respects. poignancy is not a false note to strike here. i don't believe kim's arc is finished. hope doesn't exist on its own, there has to be grief and loss to make it distinct, to make it matter. and you can't have a reunion without first being parted.
there's a line i keep thinking about (from shakespeare or shirley jackson, respectively): journeys end in lovers meeting. there's a metaphor in it about being intertwined irrevocably, being destined to find each other over and over again. one ends happily, one decidedly does not, but i still keep thinking about those lines, and wondering whether we might end on something in the middle.
what's to come is still unsure. /// I have spent an all but sleepless night, I have told lies and made a fool of myself, and the very air tastes like wine. I have been frightened half out of my foolish wits, but I have somehow earned this joy; I have been waiting for it for so long.

I am ranting about PPP(read Kougami)again in your DMs after I vowed I wouldn’t 😭I really do have some strong feelings about PPP(read Kougami). So about the Tonami incident :
1.I had a feeling from the get go Kougami is going to agree with what this guy has to say or prove.Maybe not so much as his methods but his ideologies.Sure enough the scene played out just as expected. What he basically said is “Humanity trash.Society is not worth fighting over.💣🔫🧨I agree with everything he said.Sike.But I am going to humour because you want to do the right thing”🕺💅I was so flabbergasted I literally couldn’t believe it.Making atrocious judgement calls are very on brand for him but I fail to see how people can say something sets him apart from Makishima/Garcia/Tonami.Nothing does. This is what Kougami will essentially turn into.Making any and every excuses to justify his own twisted and self righteous pursuit of justice. This gets even worse because the director confirmed Tonami wasn’t going to kill Akane. He’s touched by her sense of justice and would much rather see her disillusioned.Kougami had excellent opportunities to take Tonami out without killing him too.Let’s call it what it is, a choice. It’s not like his hands slipped or he went insane because Akane was in danger. He’s calm and detatched throughout the whole ordeal.
2.I would love to point out how he’s not being constantly mischaracterised. He also killed Garcia in the end in SS case 3.He’s consistent if anything.Him killing Tonami has nothing to do with Akane just like killing Garcia had nothing to do with Tenzing. It has everything to do with himself. As long as he gets his own version of justice he’d be content to a certain degree. That IS the person he is in essence.I think people can’t come to terms with him being the way he is because we still have a long way to go in terms of accepting the fact our protagonist can be a morally bankrupt killer.
3.I think even Kougami super fans will accept in terms of charecter development Akane has left him in the dust a long time ago. It’s okay to take the initiative and fail. But In Kougami’s case I suspect that’s who he is (while the audience hasn’t caught on yet).Shipping feels reductive at this point because one is obviously doing things the correct way and the other isn’t and never will.
4.While Akane does have a lot of faith and trust in him I doubt he’s aware of his own impact on Akane.Even going forward I don’t see how he views that.We all know his promise to himself was empty and he couldn’t manage to set her free(something I don’t resent him for,way above his pay grade)But I doubt it’s going to matter in meaningful ways. Also I suspect Akane has moved on from him.
That’s pretty much my take on this subject matter.I just think canon and fanon interpretation of Kougami might be a lot different than people realise.Keeping an open mind might be the best approach when interpreting his charecter.🤷‍♀️
Ugh, I adore Kogami, but I was nodding all the way through while I read this. Him coming to the same conclusion over and over again and then licking his own wounds is getting boring. It's true he killed Garcia (when he didn't have to) and it's true he could've not shot Tonami. He could've struggled a little there, maybe even show a little bit of faith in Akane's beliefs, maybe even argue from his own side. This is Psycho-Pass, people have debates before fighting to the death all the time.
It's true that Akane now seems too good for him. She's willing to sacrifice herself for the benefit of a whole society, to show the truth and to pressure the system. Kogami has not sacrificed anything. He really hasn't. Maybe in Case 3, I'll suspend my disbelief and say that he killed Garcia because he was a threat to peace, but the fact that killing is always his go to response shows he has regressed more than progressed. For example, how long did he plan and debated with himself about killing Makishima? Now he doesn't even debate with himself anymore. He's pissed; he kills.
You saying Akane has moved on from him... ouch, that hurts. I wish we had more of them together in S3 to piece together a little bit more of their relationship. It's been a hard relationship for those two. Mainly because one of them cares more than the other. I think Kogami cares about Akane, but he obviously knows she's too good for him to even attempt to be open with her. He remains distant. It would be nice to see something else in his face than expressionless clinical rationality...or anger. I was kinda happy that he suffered a little when reading her letter. Maybe that is the only thing that's going to make his numb, disconnected ass actually get up and do something for someone else.
I just want to see Kogami care for something! I don't think we are asking for much. I also want to see him suffer (LOL) and struggle. Just some type of growth.
Thanks for sharing your opinion!

okie okie what r ur thots on arcane's usage of race, sexuality and especially class. where do they fail? where does it work?
i mean this is a big ask and not all of these systematized axes of oppression are transferrable onto this fantasy world wherein race and sexuality and supposedly negligible, and most of the primary players in the story are women. obviously class is the focal conflict of the show, and i spoke about some of my thoughts on how it is handled in another ask, but i will say that i think the way the show illustrates the intersection of poverty & disability is fascinating, viktor is fascinating.
when it comes to race and gender, mel's role in the show feels the most apt to discuss. she is the wealthiest person in piltover, the most beautiful person in piltover, the most influential politician in piltover, and she is a black woman. afaik, she is not a character who exists in the game, which means her character and design were created specifically for this show. i think it's awesome that they made a character who is literally the most beautiful woman imaginable black, and the fact that her beauty is also only one part of her. she is smart, and vulnerable, and complex. because she exists in a fantasy world, she is a black woman who is never affected by her race and gender, but nonetheless has problems she is given room to contend with in an emotionally honest way. god i love mel.
i will also say that i do think the caitlyn/vi romance works. it makes logical sense, they have chemistry, and i am excited to see how it progresses. i do think a potential pitfall is if the writers are obligated fidelity to the games, and the story concludes with them being cops together. i really do not want to see lesbian cops.
i also think that while arcane is great for its depiction of big, buff women, the fact that there is basically just a sliding scale of body types in this show with "thin and reedy" on one end (silco, jinx, viktor) and "big and buff" on the other (vander, sevika, ambessa) with some characters in between who are both lean and muscled (vi, ekko) is a missed opportunity. literally no one in this show has any body fat whatsoever. that's not how human bodies work. since the show is pretty good about being diverse in other ways (they even made caitlyn wasian!) this does seem like its most glaring oversight. again, fidelity to the game, but if they could reimagine pink haired male fantasy vi as a buff masc dyke, then i do think they could've considered adding at least one character with a regular human body.
then again, it's not like that factor detracts from my enjoyment of the show, and i do think the show does a good job at making the body type fit the character. the contrast between mel and her mother, both in terms of appearance and presentation, is especially striking.
i think we'll have to wait for the conclusion for me to comment on how the show handles its themes in a meaningful way, especially since this season is largely setup. there are multiple routes they could go down that would be bad, but also plenty of potential avenues for them to stick the landing. i'm not sure how the class conflict will progress, but i think my main, fairly reasonable demands at this point are 1) do not kill off mel 2) no lesbian cops. please for the love of god

Exiled in Seoul
TW for mentions of dramatic weight loss.
Sera was completely oblivious. Not by her own doing, as she didn't know. Most people would perhaps find it odd that it became a very common occurence to have the police visit your parents home, but it was explained away. Her father was in the finance industry, and he didn't have control over what every single one of his clients did. There had been a few times in the past where a client began using his services for illegal activities, and he had been cleared of any knowledge every time. In fact, Sera could easily recall a time where the police seemed to show up almost every other day to gather information on a specific client. Her father ended up testifying at the man's trial, even. So all she assumed was it was simply another case of a terrible client.
That's exactly what her parents wanted her to believe, too. They fed into the assumption before she could even ask one day. Her parents had given her an entire explanation that made it seem that way. It happened before, so surely it could've happened again, right?
Sera wasn't home when her world began cracking. She was out at a cafe when a friend of her parents called her, letting her know that the police had arrested her parents. It was a call that was followed only fifteen minutes later by the police themselves, asking her to come in for questioning. That was a much more terrifying call than the first, but one she was much quicker to respond to.
That first day of questioning seemed to go easily enough, with simple questions being asked of what she knew. Which was nothing. An answer that they clearly weren't satisfied with by the third round of questioning. The same questions were met with the same answers, her own emotions growing as their frustration became more obvious each time. After all, it was hard to believe that she knew nothing while spending thousands on a weekly basis.
It was true, though. If there was one thing her parents did for her sake, they didn't let her in on their illegal scams. Ever since she could remember, her family always had millions lying around. At only 13, she was receiving an allowance that one could easily be envious of. They weren't pushing her into a career path, or even to follow their footsteps. Instead, they allowed her to be one of the most spoiled women in all of South Korea, if not the world. If she asked for it, she received it in the blink of an eye. There was never a hint that they were up to something so…Evil.
After months of questioning, by different officers trying different tactics. After undercover cops going on 'dates' with her, and other attempts, they gave up. It was nearly a year later that they finally came to the conclusion that she was never going to speak up, or she truly didn't know. Clearly, it was the former that they chose to believe. It was the former that the entire country came to believe about her.
How could a woman who was so close to her parents not know about their illegal dealings?
Well, first of all, she wasn't that close. The relationship with her parents didn't have that very tight, emotional bond that most had. Their bond was about money, and spending it. She attended boarding schools until she was old enough to have her own apartment, in which they outright bought her a penthouse in one of the most exclusive buildings in Seoul. They barely even knew she was alive, except for the lack of a phone call from the coroner. Still, Sera was naive. She held tight to the belief that they absolutely loved her, and would do anything for her…A belief that was shattered by the fourth month of questioning.
By the end of 12 months, it was formally announced that her parents were being charged with one of the biggest scams the country had seen. Nearly all of her parents wealth, from the past 20+ years, was stolen. Her allowances, her penthouse, her cars…It all came from stolen money. And just as her parents had stolen money from thousands of people, all of those things were 'stolen' from her. The conviction a year later through a poorly fought case only cemented her new reputation.
Sera tried to plead her case to the public, doing interviews whenever she was able to, but none of it changed how she was viewed. Instead, it only lead to far more insults thrown at her.
"How can she show her face like this????" "How stupid does she think we are?? She absolutely knew what was going on." "Look at her, still wearing a designer dress while begging for sympathy." "She should give acting lessons." "Where did she learn to cry like that? Not even the best actors are that good."
Sera couldn't help but to read the comments, looking for even one that was sympathetic towards her. Just one person who saw she was telling the truth, but none. There were none.
The comments weren't limited to anonymous faces on the internet, however. They spilled into her daily life. She was literally chased from stores, restaurants, and cafes…Delivery services refused to accept her orders. Even if she tried to hide her face with a mask, she was recognized and chased out with insults and curses. It almost became impossible for her to even go grocery shopping for essentials.
The hospital was the scariest. There came a time where she had gotten so sick, that she needed to go. She was certain she had the flu or pneumonia, or something. For days on end, she had been coughing and struggling to breathe, but she had been chased from the pharmacy when she tried to get some medicine for the symptoms. The paranoia as she walked down the street only made it harder and harder for her to breathe, to the point she collapsed as soon as she reached the hospital doors. It was the biggest surprise of her life when she woke up in a hospital room, her last moments before being nothing but fear that she would simply be left in the cold to die. Finally, someone had sympathy for her. Even if it was a mandatory part of their job, there was some sympathy shown somewhere for her.
The hospital bill still looms over her to this day, creditors now coming after her even though she has nothing. Instead of an exclusive penthouse, she's barely able to rent a closet of an apartment. Instead of taking a taxi, or driving a car, she's left to walk everywhere. Meals? She found herself able to once in a while buy a frozen meal at a convenience store on the otherside of the city. Perhaps the good news was that being so poor helped her lose weight that she didn't know she wanted to lose.
Sera had almost nothing of her life before the scandal, except for a single designer dress that remained protected in a garment bag. An evening dress that probably needed to be tailored at this point, but that would be something she needed to learn later. She had nowhere to wear it, and probably wouldn't for the rest of her life at this point.
What her parents did to her was horrible, and disgusting…And she was the one being left to take the lashings. To take the public's exiling. Sera started to wish she did know what was going on, because she could only imagine prison life being better than her life now. It had to be. Even the slums sounded like a better life.

Dreea I am so sorry that you are getting mean anons. I hope it is not because of me. I didn't say anything mean, salty or disrespectful I hope my asks didn't bother you, tbh I think people are right there was no need for me to announce that I won't be reading the fic anymore, I should have kept it to myself, however I hope you know that my intention was not to hurt you, I feel so guilty, you don't deserve this treatment. You deserve only good things. Please do not let this make you sad.
🍟
this got long ☠️
hun, please don't feel responsible for others' penchant for drama. i understand where you come from and i respect everyone's decision because at the end of the day you should only read what you want to! lord knows i gave up reading lots of fics mid way. but the way some have come for me using "constructive criticism" as a guise for hateful passive-aggressive comments is typical for tumblr unfortunately. some ppl really just love going on anon and being mean for no reason
i'm not gonna change a damn thing abt the storyline of the fic that i'm writing. that was never debatable. when you offer constructive criticism (and i'm gonna be addressing this in general, not to 🍟 anon) it shouldn't be about where the story is heading because the creative process belongs to the writer alone. the other things some anons brought up i'd down right answered multiple times already- which- shouldn't even have to be addressed if i'm being honest- like, will the whole trial thing ever come to a conclusion- i must've answered that tons of time by now, and of course it will! like of course i wasn't gonna drop a major part of the story without bringing it to a conclusion, i am deliberately putting it off, and now that we're reading harry's pov is when everything will come to light
i know it's taking long because i don't update super frequently (even though some have had the audacity to question how i have time to come here and post fics if i'm a doctor ☠️). which is why it seems like it's taking forever. but if you're reading it in one sitting it actually has a linearity. that's the thing with WIPS- if you know you haven't got the patience for it, please only read completed works and stop bullying the writer! i have fics i've been waiting on updates for literal YEARS
anyway- i wanna wrap this subject up, wasn't gonna answer because i just didn't wanna bring it up again, i'm beyond fed up. and hurt because some people really are beyond ungrateful and have really sent me obnoxious things, along the lines of "you demand 500 notes on your chapters to update but you don't give people what they want" like-- i'm just speechless. people really feel entitled to come on tumblr dot com and be handed out completely free quality content and on top of that the writer should he writing the story they expect, otherwise off with their head. like. maybe write your own fics then???! and 500 notes is just a way to encourage ppl to interact with the fic. i've seen someone make a comment about posting fics for notes, and that's absolutely not what this is about (and they're a writer too, so i was unpleasantly surprised to say the least...)
again, 🍟 anon i am not at all upset with you, i'm sad you'll not be reading and giving up on the story because i think you're wrong to do so obviously, but i can't force anyone to have faith in the process
to anyone saying i don't accept negative feedback, i urge you to really analyze what has been going on. so many ppl called those anons out on it- like if you're not gonna pay attention to the story and what i reply to other anons, of course i'm gonna be defensive if you're down right wrong. if i wanted to, i could've easily just ignored any and every negative comment i've gotten. for the sake of transparency i posted those, and instead, some anons took that as a window of opportunity to come spill some hate in my inbox which i will not tolerate, because i can see clearly who sets out with good intentions and who is just after some hateful drama
and with this i'm closing up this subject

hii petri! for ship bingo, your favorite ship from kinnporsche and/or your favorite ship from the untamed?
mint, i know you wanted to give me choice and creative freedom and i appreciate it so much but my gOSH am i not the person to do that for 😂 not only do i rarely have favourites of anything but i have to figure out my emotions for these unnamed blorbos? this is how you end up with five answers for the price of one ✨
so, for kinnporsche i came to the conclusion i have two - one for the earlier part of the show and one for the last episodes (i think the green is..fairly obvious)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first one is the men themselves who made me feel so many things throughout the show and turnt it into the amazing experience it was for me, watching them learn how to understand each other and open up, the tender scenes, the chemistry, following the discussions on here about kinn and his trust issues (omg especially around the tawan episodes, that was crazy) - their journey was so much fun!
the second one..what can i say, vegaspete were what everyone seemed to anticipate and i was kinda neutral until their episodes actually hit, then i went insane lmao, i just love pathetic men and "only i understand him, only i can tame him" type of stuff - i got plenty of that and some top notch chemistry and they were what made the last episodes for me
onto the untamed.. i don't like thinking about it too much because one cql viewing later i'm a broken woman, i do not understand how people watch it more than once and choose to actively think about it, write analyses, delve into the lore - i'm not built like you guys and you have my respect 💕 all of that is to say i dont think bout the ships too much either, i picked these as faves because they had a certain smth
I don't think anyone could possibly guess what the three couples are they're - not the most popular 😂 except for wangxian, those are my babies:
Tumblr media
the next one is jiang cheng with... *drums*
Tumblr media
...wen qing 🥰 i didn't ship them as divorced until i saw the option and decided that yes, they would be so amazing as divorced parents or smth and i would read about it for sure; not the comb, not the post-war conversations - that inn scene always comes to mind, it feels like a checkpoint at which you could take a different route and change the outcome, a spot where you can stop and think "what if"... jiang cheng before the weight of zidian, the only thing of importance at the moment - his brother's safety... wen qing with only her brother to look out for, testing how far she'd go for an outsider while risking everything... or, y'know, i just find the scene fun, smart and rewatchable 🤷‍♀️ they're a very interesting ship for me cause i don't mind them not being together, either way is fine and makes sense and i never really feel this way about ships i care about, they usually HAVE to be together y'know but with these two i just have many thoughts and feelings that don't actually make me go crazy which is so refreshing
and the one ship that i'm not sure i even ship but b o y they make me feel things...
Tumblr media
...xiao xingchen and xue yang YES I KNOW, still to this day am not sure about some story details lol that whole arc left me shaken to my core and i've worked on forgetting it so it took a while to even remember they exist .. anyways, they found home in each other and could've been happy but they are who they are and they acted how they acted and that's that :) also my feels on song lan (and him with xiao xingchen) are mixed but this might be the one triangle i can see myself enjoying as a throuple.. i avoided stuff about that whole psychological horror arc so stuff that could sway me in any particular direction haven't been encountered in a while ✨

REVIEW: The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

Synopsis
As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships--but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. Convincing Anh that Olive is dating and well on her way to a happily ever after was always going to take more than hand-wavy Jedi mind tricks: Scientists require proof. So, like any self-respecting biologist, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees.
That man is none other than Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor--and well-known ass. Which is why Olive is positively floored when Stanford's reigning lab tyrant agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend. But when a big science conference goes haywire, putting Olive's career on the Bunsen burner, Adam surprises her again with his unyielding support and even more unyielding... six-pack abs.
Suddenly their little experiment feels dangerously close to combustion. And Olive discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope.
Review
I am not the smartest person when it comes to biological science, so a lot of whatever the hell hey were talking about really went over my head while reading this book. Aside from that, this story really did capture my heart despite it being from the infamous Book Tok. Though, this book wasn't exactly as it was marketed to be from readers. When many talked about spice, it sounded like this entire story was meant to be erotica. The reality is that there was really only one sex chapter, which given the traits of our beloved heroin, Olive, it makes sense.
The prologue drew me in immediately. I'm a sucker for a good laugh especially if it's relatable. I've learned my lesson from wearing expired contacts myself! Immediately after reading the prologue, I knew we had our hero. Then suddenly two years and eleven months later we find Olive kissing some guy who is none other than our hero himself, Adam Carlson.
One thing that irks me about the beginning of the book is the first chapter where it is described that Olive had kissed Adam without his consent. At the beginning of the story, the two of them are the perfect strangers who stand at very different levels in their careers - Adam is a professor, Olive is a student which isn't exactly the power dynamic I usually go for in contemporary romance novels. While I love a good plot in STEM, specifically women in STEM, I find that the relationship could've been represented better with a more preferable age gap that does not make it seem too inappropriate. However, they do end up making it work as they start becoming more comfortable with each other, so I guess that works.
"I'm starting to wonder if this is what being in love us. Being okay with ripping yourself into shreds, so the other person can stay whole."
Both Adam and Olive have admirable goals in their careers; Olive's pancreatic cancer project and Adam's fight for his research fund while under suspicion that he may be moving to another university. This story is very much character driven with not much character development. But, if you're looking for that grumpy x sunshine fake dating trope, well then this book is perfect for you. I noticed that this story did not focus much on the flaws of the characters which added to the lack of character development, aside from them being more comfortable with each other as the story progressed. The more we got introduced to new characters, the more I started to realize that each character lacked diversity. It seemed that they each had either the same or a similar personality. Which while entertaining for certain character interactions, it all seemed repetitive in the end.
"Olive had felt that he was on her side. Over and over, and in ways that could never have been anticipated, he had made her feel unjudged. Less alone."
Conclusion
All in all, I feel that while the relationship was cute and had great development, the story could've used more personal character development for the individual characters. One thing that I did enjoy that I tend to joke about quite a bit is the fact that even though they had no "one bed trope," they ended up making their own anyways and I thought that was funny. The best takeaway from this book is that it surrounds the difficulties of women in STEM and the fact that Adam became her biggest protector in the end made my heart flip. Nothing is sexier than a man who will do anything for his woman even if it means pinning a man against the wall and threatening to kill him. Hopefully you find this book enjoyable as much a I did despite it's many flaws and it's redeeming qualities that balanced it out.
"If you say another word about the woman I love, if you look at her, if you even think about her - I'm going to fucking kill you."

the real problem was bureaucracy (and also all the water)
For @whumptober day 9: The Very Noisy Night, using the prompt “caught in a storm.”
Continued from day 5, where Aziraphale realized, only once it was too late, that he wouldn't be able to fly away from the flood, and managed to hurt himself in an escape attempt.
Content warning for major disaster (flooding) and mention of child death (alluding to the A/C conversation during the flood scene in canon).
Crawly wound himself more tightly around the bit of wood. Not for the first time, he wondered if swimming would be more comfortable. Technically, snakes could, but he'd never tried it for an extended period of time, and even Crawly felt that making a go of it in the midst of a deluge sent by God to wipe out a large chunk of humanity might be a bit riskier than he liked. There was rather a lot of debris strewn about, and between that and the lightning… no, better to cling to something buoyant.
The real problem was bureaucracy, of course, as always. He'd thought the point of the revolution had been to eliminate Heaven's pointless, needlessly punishing bureaucracy and elitist ordering, but it turned out nobody in Hell knew any other way of doing things.
Anyway, when Crawly caught wind of the flood, he had had some uncomfortable feelings about things. By now, he was pretty sure he'd just eaten something that had disagreed with him a few days into digestion, and was only sluggish and uninterested in his assigned duties because he'd shapeshifted back into human form instead of continuing to rest as he ought to be doing. Probably he just shouldn't bother with eating; it was more trouble than it was worth. But before he'd come to that realization, he'd thought maybe he was feeling guilty, or sad, or something, and he'd had the stupid idea to try and get people evacuated.
He framed it, very cleverly, he thought, as getting in the way of God's plans, and sparing people who might commit terrible acts of cruelty later in life, but he hadn't got a response until forty-day forecast was looking very wet, and the response had been a request for clarification and that he correct some of his grammar and resubmit. In fact, over the last thousand years, Crawly had come to the conclusion that it was better to behave unforgivably than to ask permission, only now he'd gone and asked permission he'd bollocksed it up.
So he'd sort of suggested to the angel, in a roundabout, passive-aggressive way, that perhaps he ought to do something about the children. Not that Crawly particularly cared, but obviously making extra work for angels would be something Satan approved of, wouldn't it? And then he'd tried to do some of it himself at the last minute, but it was exhausting work, convincing just one family that they'd won an all-expenses-paid trip to the Taurus Mountains, much less the dozens that might be present in one small settlement, or the hundreds or thousands more that lived in the flood plain.
He'd got three families out with the all-expenses-paid trip scam, chased two more families out by pretending to be a very dangerous snake (well, he wasn't really pretending), and then got impatient and burned down a village so that people would have to leave, and then he'd given up after they just went one village over. He'd had a busy, exhausting few days and things had got hectic near the end when they'd worked out who burned their village down, and he'd spent the last few days on land fleeing and grumbling about when he was supposed to get any of his work done. Burning down one village was small potatoes compared to what he could've been doing. (Crawly wasn't sure what potatoes were, but they were probably larger than villages.) Maybe he could just make something up. That seemed like the best idea. He couldn't really be expected to cause any more havoc than God was doing just now, could he? She was stealing his show.
And since he hadn't escaped the angry mob until the flooding put out their torches and swept them off their feet, he hadn't been able to leave the general vicinity of the flood before it got much too windy and rainy to try to fly off on his own. And now he was stuck, cold and wet and miserable, clinging to a bit of wood that used to be part of a wagon, and it was going to be more than a month before the skies would clear and he could bugger off.
Resigned to his fate and despairing at the state of the world not having been caused by him, he might have missed the floundering angel until he was accidentally pulled down by Aziraphale's desperate attempts to keep his head above water.
[To be continued on day 12]
