Can I list anything except @robininthelabyrinth's Spilled Pearls here? Can I really? :D This fic made me OBSESSED with RuoRen. I think I can ascribe many of my other more esoteric MDZS/CQL ships to their writing as well :D

hmmm I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about fic in this way, but hm. I think about Tozette's Naruto Prompts and Ficlets a lot, especially the one where Ino is Deidara's recently orphaned half sibling bc HOT DAMN. BRAINROT BRAINROT.

It's wild to me when people try to frame their dislike of a fictional character as objectively correct by citing how they imagine that character would behave in some hypothetical circumstance. Like, you're not even making up a guy to get mad at – you're taking a guy who's already made up, making up a second guy based on the first made up guy, then getting mad at the second made up guy.
#when we call cultivators cops a fairy loses her memory and is reborn as an amnesiac orchid#so there is an upside actually#<- prev imagining this is saving me from copcourse hell

Hmmm I admit, I do not read drabbles quite as often as I would like, but I have been thinking about laireshi's The Right Time since 2021 so this must mean something right?

Two gifts to me from HA 2023 that still hold my whole heart:
@shadaras's Cicada Sings Amongst Bamboo which is a lovely LQR/QS time travel fic that occasionally grips me and makes me rotate it in my brain every 21 business days or so
@nemainofthewater's casting off (why not take life as it comes) which <3 TIME TRAVEL RUOREN. Ahem. I will attempt to stop screeching about this sort of thing because I have a feeling it might be #Cringe, but let it be said that I love both of these very much.

shuofthewind's Swallows on the Beam holds my whole heart. What a fic, what a wonderful exploration of an underexplored portion of FMA. I don't typically look for anything to read in FMA fandom, but I adore this fic, (and the Black Butler AU that they've written) very very much.

Oh, this would have to be Author376's Bequeathed from Pale Estates which is a really lovely exploration of alternate universe soulmarks Westeros that blew my mind when I read it.
😭 A fic that ripped your heart out (but it hurt so good)
Oh man, I'm definitely an angst monster so I am ALWAYS stoked stoked to think about other people's angsty fics. For me, the one that immediately comes to mind is Diamondblade1's Masquerade which remains one of my angsty NHS faves!
✨ A fic you wish you could read again for the first time
So so many. The one that most immediately comes to mind is again, peppymint's Devil's Breath which is a lovely "What if Izuna lived and ended up in Tobirama's basement" AU that has given me terminal WCE brainrot. Truly, most of peppymint's Naruto WCE fic is like #GOALS. I rotate them in my mind every now and again, but Devil's Breath feels like it pried open my third eye with a crowbar.

key rules/information before the tournament starts:
- each round will last a week
- feel free to make your own propaganda, I will not be posting any until that fandom is eliminated so any asks sent to me arguing for or against a fandom will be deleted!
- the tournament is smaller this year to make it more compact and easier for me to deal with
- when selecting which image to use for each fandom, I have gone to the google images page for that fandom and picked the first image. any issues with these images is not something to complain to me about (eg whether it is official promo material or not)
- at the end of each round, I will do a wrap up with some of the funny/entertaining/interesting reasoning people sent in with the submissions of fandoms that have been eliminated
- I will be doing a 3rd and 4th place poll
- vote based on which YOU think has been the most annoying on tumblr in the past year
- poll rounds will be tagged as "fandom poll round 1" "fandom poll round 2" etc, while asks will be tagged as "fandom poll ask"
- I will make a list answering asks about if xyz fandom got any submissions at the end, so if you send one of those don't expect it to be answered until the whole tournament is done
- in the same vein, the wrap up after elimination will include the number of submissions that fandom got
