Eddie posts a Tiktok one night from the air mattress him and Steve are sleeping on in Wayne’s living room. It is late. It is dark.

Eddie looks unimpressed at the camera because he went to bed on a pretty firm mattress and woke up during the slow slide to Steve.

He pans the camera over to Steve and his side is practically deflated. He’s pretty much sleeping on the floor at this point so Eddie pans the camera back to him and says, “Think there might be a hole in this air mattress, y’all.”

Steve shifts in his sleep and Eddie slides a little more towards him before he adds, “You know that 50 Cent tweet about his grandma making him take the trash out? That’s how I’m feelin’ right now.”

“Cause this is bullshit. The couch fucks up my back. Why am I not at a hotel?” He mutters to himself, sliding the rest of the way down and flopping on top of Steve. “I have two Grammys.”

Falling on top of him woke Steve up just enough for Eddie to get him up and moving, “C’mon, baby, on your feet. Let’s go. We’re bunking up with Wayne tonight.”

Steve, who will not remember this conversation in the morning and is going to wake up confused, just lets Eddie guide him into the bedroom like, “Kay.”

Let it grow warmer and warmer in your mind. Make it so hot it begins to steam. Now turn that steam into fire.

And as he stands up for himself in his final moments and realizes his terrible miscalculation he is KILLED by the shambling, posessed body of his guardian only for his soul to be then swept away and thrust into a confusing dreamscape where nothing is real and once again he must reject his world in order to chase after something new. the universe does not forgive but maybe he can force its hand

if you read my zelda comic and like it i love and appreciate you but i really do need to be upfront about it being very much a self indulgent enemies to lovers story with a villain at the center that has done bad but isnt bad at his core and is struggeling to come to terms with the fact that he doesnt actually want to be the evil beast he and almost everyone else believes he should be

episode 8 fix it where izzy does get shot, but it doesnt kill him- its on the left side after all! a gunshot does more damage than a sword, so he has a longer healing time ahead, and with him still learning how to live missing a leg, they all agree that its best he doesn't sail away with them, that itd be better if he stayed on land while he recovers

conveniently, he just so happens to know two men who are looking to start an inn on land! he can stay with them, help them complete repairs (god knows neither of them knows what theyre doing themselves) he can whittle little souvenirs on his sick bed; he can help moderate their ideas ("theres no point picking drapes yet stede, we don't have a fucking window") he can heal in peace.

maybe he could try being someone else other than the great izzy hands, maybe he could make something new here. no captains, no first mates, just izzy and ed and stede
