While you weren’t sure what time Nathan went to bed last night, or what time it was now (other than early morning), but, you did know that he had decided to sleep in your bed. Not his.
His beard was tickling your shoulder, his gentle and even breaths warming your back.
One arm was slung over your waist while the other, in classic Nathan fashion, was pressed against the headboard at an angle you would have assumed was uncomfortable.
You needed to stretch. And, despite the comfort of waking up in his embrace, he was oldly warm. A human furnace. How he wasn’t sweating astounded you.
It seemed impossible that someone that slept naked could produce so much heat.
Carefully, you wiggled out from underneath his arm. Trying your best not to wake him or jostle the bed too much.
You were nearly home free, out without being a disturbance, when somehow you caught Nathan just as he was moving in his sleep.
A sigh escaped your lips, ready for a Textbook Nathan grumble. But it never came.
He had just moved with the push and was now sleeping soundly flat on his back, part of the bedcovers twisted around his calf.
Huh.
Seemed like he was a heavy sleeper.
He must have come to bed late.
You chewed at your bottom lip as a wicked thought started to grow in your mind.
He looked so peaceful, innocent even. If such a word could ever be used to describe Nathan. Especially since he had a habit of grooming his public hair into ridiculous shapes. Something you were sure he only really started doing to amuse you. Currently it was a heart.
Perhaps it was time for a little revenge for all the times he woke you up at 2am with his face between your legs.
Languidly you moved a little closer, running the tip of your forefinger up the length of his dick. Just to judge the reaction, see how heavy of a sleeper he really was.
Nathan’s breathing didn’t even change.
You grinned.
Still keeping your eyes on his face to watch for any signs of waking, you laid down on your stomach, propping yourself up on your elbows and leaning over to suck the tip of his cock into your mouth.
Nothing.
You moved your body closer, risking leaning partially on his thigh and hip, as you licked up the length of him, swirling your tongue around the head and teasing his slit.
His cock jumped under your attention, quickly hardening as Nathan’s breathing hitched ever so slightly. The rise and fall of his chest increasing even as his eyes stayed closed.
You pumped him a few times, smearing your saliva along the thick length of him as a smile pulled on your lips.
While you missed Nathan’s moans and grunts of pleasure, there was something satisfying about having him at your mercy.
You took him into your mouth again, bobbing up and down slowly, trying to let him get deeper each time.
Usually Nathan’s bucking hips (even when he tried not to) made it difficult to deepthroat him, his size alone was enough to make the activity strenuous. And you’d never quite been able to manage it without gagging.
Now however, without his instant squirming you found that you were able to take him deeper than you had before, relaxing your throat as best you could and swallowing around him.
You hummed, getting a little carried away as your own arousal started to burn between your legs.
The idea of maybe being able to take all of him in your mouth made you a little lightheaded, forced you to rub your legs together to just take the edge off.
You picked up the pace, moving up and down, still managing to swallow a little more each time.
His cock was hot and heavy in your mouth, the girth made your jaw throb but you didn’t care as you continued to take him deeper.
Finally you couldn’t ignore the ache between your legs any longer, and you slid one hand down, under your pyjama bottoms for some relief.
Nathan’s breathing had increased exponentially. Small huff of air, and little whispered moans escaping his lips as he still stayed inexplicably asleep.
Part of you wondered what he was dreaming about.
You circled your clit, Nathan’s little groans of pleasure driving you wild as you filled your mouth with his cock.
You were nearly there, almost at the base, just another few centimetres and you could bury your face into the neatly trimmed curls between his legs.
“Fuuuck,” Nathan hissed between his teeth, gasping as he woke up fully to the sight of you. “Oh god, baby,” he whined, stretching back for a moment to try to stop himself from thrusting upwards, “taking me so deep.”
He groaned obscenely. Trying to get himself under control by sinking his teeth into his bottom lip, anything to distract himself from the warmth of your mouth.
That was when he noticed your hand down the front of your pyjamas.
And he lost it.
He moaned loudly, grabbing hold of your shoulder, trying to warn you. But it was too late. He came hard, unable to control the mindless bucking of his hips as he filled your mouth and throat.
The timing, thankfully, had just been right. You had been breathing out as he came and managed to not choke to death on his release.
He gasped as you kept sucking, milking him for every last drop he could give, before pulling away and grinning.
“Good morning.” You smiled.
“Good fucking morning.” He breathed, laying back heavily against the bed.
You chuckled.
He sat up a little to look at you. “What time is it?”
You shook your head, “I’m not sure, I-”
“It’s pussy eating time, that’s what it is.” He growled as he pounced on you, smothering you with kisses as you laughed.

How about heethan's reaction to let's assume for once yn goes to a party with hn and some dude slips viagra in yn's drink so she drank it obliviously and ofc got horny so the dude sees it and tries to feel her up only for her to kick him in d!ck and runs away back to the dorm room to heethan now ofc the effects of the pill were still there so heethan gets a little confused as to why his pretty baby comes up to him hurriedly from the party all horny.....so later on they do the deed and when our yn is asleep he dials hn number and asks her what happened with yn and hn explains all and heethan being him goes on full murder mode
Now I leave it up to you to finish everything up 😼😼😼
lol well unfortunately kitty cat anon, i'm afraid viagra doesnt work that way for females (as far as my research shows) it doesnt increase a woman's desire to have sex. Not to mention, it would be hard to write out this prompt because heethan (as the record shows in the chapters) does not let y/n go ANYWHERE without him. she barely is able to attend her classes in peace bc most times, he's right outside waiting/watching her through the window from his car. he'd be at that part with her, and therefore, no one is going to slip anything in her drink bc he's gonna be the one to order and watch over her belongings. for me to write out anything different is hard because its very out of character for heethan, he's always (like literally stuck like glue) with his y/n. wherever he goes, she goes. and wherever she goes, he's there.
NOW, lets just say they're at a party, and he hands her a drink and somehow it slipped through his sharp sights and someone did manage to slip something in y/n's drink. Again, studies show that viagra doesnt have that effect on women, it's a medication mean to stimulate hormonal and blood functions for men only, so lets say they slip something else and it takes effect, i'm not sure what is out there that stimulates a women's desire to have sex, but if we bend the facts a little and they slipped something and y/n was already ovulating and whatever was slipped in made her a little woozy and more "in the mood" heethan be right there to see her change in mood and would just take her to a private room or in his car and give it to her until she knocks out. (there are similar scenarios where y/n is ovulating and she expresses her desires to heethan and she always gets more than what she bargains for, i think they're in my one shots ML) it wouldn't be any different.
Warnings: some detailed smutty stuff below the line....like straight up nasty porn type content, car sex, and ofc breeding kinks, anal play, oral, and creampies. yup. MDNI 18+ content below.
He'd take you to the car, slip his hand down in you panties and feel how wet you are. probably increase the tension by antagonizing you with the "tell me who are you wet for?" or "tell me what you want, princess."
he'd make you say it and practically beg for it. in fact, he'd throw in the "beg for it baby, i wanna hear you beg." while he pumps his fingers (all three of them) in and out while curving the tips inward to hook you from the inside and gently pull you down until you're a laying mess. record shows he loves to slap y/n's p*ssy, whether it's his hand or with his shaft, he likes to slap it. when he gets a few drinks in him (doesn't have to be drunk, he can have a tiny buzz) he likes to tickle it too. he likes to watch you jump, jolt, and yelp out of the oversensitivity he's creating and from there, he slaps his hand on your shoulder, your waist, or even your neck to hold you steady and will keep doing it over and over until he gets you to the point where you're now begging for him to stop (see what he does? he's a menace. first he has you begging for more, now he has you begging for mercy) and then, as he's sucking on your skin, he shoves it in. He get's you feeling so full (because he's a python....he has girth and length) and this time around, because you're ovulating, he just wants to go at it and not start off slow and deep (which is how he usually does it) naw....he starts going at it and loves it when you gasp out in shocking breaths while you yelp and moan out in disbelief that he's just fucking the shit out of you off the hook and beaming a very demeaning (but loving) gaze at you.
everytime you turn your head away from the overwhelming sensation, he grabs your hair and either makes you look directly into his psychotic glare or he'll make you watch his cock going in and out of you (balls deep too) since you're ovulating, you're extra juicy so he'll make you stick your hand down and use your fingers to ring around his girth as he thrusts in and out, and make you rub his balls as he's slamming into you. the man is always filthy but when you're in the moments of heat and wanting to breed, he's extra nasty with it. he'll spread your legs open, spit on it, stick his finger in your anus while he's fucking you and will suck on your tongue while you're screaming out as he keeps going and going (man is an energizer bunny) he'll taunt you with his words while he spits on your tits and tells you things like...
"yeah...you're pretty little girl....you ARE pretty, i'll give you that....in fact, i'm going to show you just how pretty you are."
and boy, does he ever. he'll take it out for a few minutes so he can go in there and shove his face in between your legs, flip you over, grab your rear end, squeeze his fingers down to make it look extra bubbly, and shove it back in, going to town on you. "breed with me baby." he'll say that every time he feels you gush. and your ovulation period is just make you feral for child bearing so of course you moan and let him do everything, which includes him leaning over your back as he's fucking you doggystyle, and he'll bite your neck and hold you steady that way while he pumps in deeper and deeper until you feel him cumming.
when all is said and done, and you're bruised down there, red and purple from him beating your womanhood (i'm talking like...the man went all Mike Tyson on you) you sigh out and catch your breath, only to hear him transition and speak out...
"Round two baby...."
and you look up with an ever enduring horror on your face as you see that Ethan is looking down at you....hungry. You're too weak and exhausted to move or do anything, you just lay there with your eyes beginning to water as you dread for whats about to come your way. you whine out of mercy, which only makes ethan smirk deviously. Now that heeseung had his fill, ethan want's a taste...in fact he want's the whole entree. bon apetite. ❤️

About the soul-swap partners:
I love that neither of them decided to stick to their given roles.  In either universe, really.
You’ll get what I mean.
Cale, who was Kim Rok Soo, does not keep up the image of trash.  He calls himself trash, he is called trash.  He does not keep his reputation.  Not the alcoholism, and he doesn’t throw bottles at gangsters.  No, he takes care of the underworld and other nobles in his own way (ie, recruitment or utter destruction).  He does not have his old reputation in this world either.  He’s not known as this cold leader who doesn’t care when someone dies, he’s known as a brilliant young man who cares way too much.  He’s known as an idiot who would rather pass out from exhaustion a week later than leave things to fester for one minute.
And then there’s Kim Rok Soo, who was Cale Henituse once upon an apocalypse.  (First the fuq of all, nobody knew jac squat about him in the first place, and being the son of his mother probably made him something of an automatic anomaly.  I assume just being a Thames makes you kinda weird.  But anyway!) He lived as trash, an alcoholic who threw too many bottles back and then at the wall.  Then he lived through 20 years of a losing war.  And he got tired.  Tired enough to listen to a voice in his head in his last moments, to switch worlds and bodies with some stranger.  And he chose the motto that reflects the sentiments of his soul swap partner to a T: let’s live peacefullly.
And he smiles now, as Kim Rok Soo.  He sits back in his office chair, with an easygoing attitude.  He’s not the trash that would only shout; he is sly, and he knows how to use his status to properly put punks in their place.  He’s the team leader who refuses to be mistreated by anyone.  He will not be used, he would rather do his work as he needs to.  He isn’t a lowlife with no responsibilities in the wake of a war he would be just about useless in; he has a niece he has to go home to.  He drinks casually, not too much.  And he smiles in a way that’s too bright for the cold Kim Rok Soo.  He’s too happy now to be called cold-blooded. It’s like there’s a fire in his eyes that had been lost ages ago. Something that was rekindled when he had someone to go home to.
Despite changing their own lives so much, they wound up being nearly the same as one another and that drives me a little insane.
And let's not forget the best part.  One famous line they have in common in every world:
“Should I flip everything over?”
Another thing: I think Cale's gonna start resembling Kim Rok Soo. As in, he'll start relaxing a bit as the work goes on, he'll learn to rest as he goes (as in actually rest) and delegate work properly. He won't brush past comments like he used to, he will look a person in the eye and go 'I can just leave this world and leave you to your fate' which I would love to see, honestly. I feel like their individual capacity to be petty increases with age, and that's probably one of my favorite things about these characters. So them finding new ways to piss off people who don't like them could just be made into its own series and I would sell my soul for it.

i know we're all losing it at this sudden insight we've gained in the [tarik voice] uhhh why is there a drone in my face scene, so i wanted to pull out some moments from previous books in which murderbot uses drones to look at people and see how differently they read if we now assume said drones are hovering inches away from their faces. reviewing my notes to look for examples is how i found out that mb doesn't pilot drones to look at people's faces until FT/NE, with one exception, and it's a doozy:
When it [the drone] reached Wilken, I had it stop and hover in front of her face for twenty-six seconds. Okay, so I was a little angry. (RP, ch. 5)
so like, it knows putting a drone in somebody's face is gonna freak them out, and it uses that to fuck with a human that pissed it off. lol.
that's really the only moment in the first four books where mb could conceivably be droning right up in someone's business, and it's made explicit. so i don't think we missed anything there. FT and NE are another story. here are some of my favorite moments:
FT
Indah faced me and asked, "You have experience at this?" Watching her via the drones, I kept my gaze on the Starchy Foods!!! sign, which had little dancing figures around it which I guess were supposed to be starchy foods. (ch. 1)
there's something about having a drone in your face while you're trying to talk to a person who is staring very seriously at a whimsical sign that contains three exclamation points...
Indah stared at Tural. So did I, with my drones. (ch. 2)
MULTIPLE drones in face incident! plus your boss giving you the eyeball?? tural is doing their best u guys please have mercy!
He [one of Mensah's assistants] was used to me and used to confidential council stuff, so he didn’t even glance up at my drones, just nodded to us and slipped out as we stepped in. (ch. 6)
whose job is it to tell newly hired assistants "ignore it" when there's a drone in their face? it's probably part of the standard onboarding procedure at this point tbh.
Then me, Aylen, and Indah were standing in the office looking at each other. Or they were looking at me and my drones were looking at them. (ch. 6)
mexican standoff if instead of guns you had eye contact and also one of the people involved doesn't like making eye contact. or something.
NE
The drone I had watching [Mensah's] face increased magnification, its low-light filter rendering her features in black and white. (ch. 2)
POV you're having a tense conversation about trauma therapy in the dark with a little flying camera buzzing around your head. just little secunit teammate things! (i actually think mensah finds this very comforting though. she smiles at the drone four pages later <3)
I wanted to use my drones to look at [Amena], but while that was calming for me, it wouldn’t be for her. (ch. 3)
hmm would it not be calming for amena to have something hovering in her face right when she's about to be abducted by raiders? ya think??
I had a drone view of Amena watching the hand scanner, her brow furrowed in half-wince, half-concentration. (ch. 6)
it doesn't have to be like this [mb 🤝 performing surgery] when it can also be like this [putting a drone in amena's face 🤝 mb 🤝 performing surgery]. mb has two hands (metaphorically)
My drone watched [Amena] eyeing me. (ch. 20)
every time mb says it sees through a drone that someone is watching it gets 200% funnier if this means that the person is deliberately ignoring the drone invading their personal bubble in order to look at the person that is outside of their personal bubble. like that's commitment.
[Mensah] came and sat down next to me in the lounge and I adjusted a drone to be able to get a view of her face. (ch. 20)
read: "a drone zoomed down from where it was circling above my head and stopped an inch in front of mensah's nose." i mean, you don't have to read it that way, it's never made explicit and i'm not the boss of you. but isn't it fun to imagine?

Not to Be a Bearer of News pt 2 with some essence of Duck Duck what the Fuck
Something fowl is afoot. Between the newspapers and the ducks and the content of the newspapers. I have had the drafts for these posts sitting on my account for about a month or so now and was immediately screaming at the responses I was getting on the first part of this series of posts. So let's get further into this bit of a mind fuckery.
This one is gonna be a long one so just hang in there, I promise it's worth it. There's A LOT going on with this.
Back to the newspapers.
Last go 'round we talked about Mr. Brown (of Brown's world of carpets) and his very strange newspaper that is the cause of the opening sequence having an accordion duck in it, as well as some of the other appearances of ducks throughout the series.
This time, we're going to look more at the newspapers, with a touch of me screaming about my thoughts from the comments on part one of this mini-series of posts.
We already know Mr Brown (of Brown's world of carpets) holds a weird ass newspaper...
Tumblr media
and how he practically waves it around like a billboard every time he's on screen, going so far as to even cover his face with it at some point.
Now I could go on about how the way time works in Soho seems practically non-existent, but we'll save that for a later day because we're talking about the newspapers. At least...the newspapers in season 2 specifically.
As we already know, thanks to the X-Rays on Amazon, Nina's coffee shop strangely holds the magazines that Adam read in season 1 (a very strange and deliberate choice to be making...) but those aren't newspapers so to speak.
(Screenshots for the people who didn't know)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I'm gonna get started with the FIRST newspaper(s) we see in season 2.
And that would be a stack of them on the street right next to Aziraphale's bookshop.
Tumblr media
Now unlike most of the other newspapers, you can't exactly see what these ones have to say, which is fine. I'm more intrigued by the fact that there just so happens to be (I assume that red thing is a newspaper thing because I'm from the US and that's not what those normally look like) a place to buy newspapers right outside the bookshop. The building itself says 'The News Agency' but I'm more intrigued by the little red cylindrical thing. How intriguing that so many characters wave their newspapers around for us to see and the News Paper building is literally right next to the bookshop.
Even more importantly this thing ALSO makes an appearance in the opening sequence. I know, I know, you're all probably tired of me screaming about the opening sequence at this point but seriously. Look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then this extra right here appears to be holding a stack of presumably newspapers, possibly making a delivery to The Dirty Donkey based off trajectory.
Tumblr media
But I've also noticed we never really see anyone on the street holding newspapers, only in isolated locations where you can very clearly see the front page of their papers.
Which brings me to our second newspaper appearance (technically the first if you're going by readability)
Tumblr media
Crowley (notice the ducks in the background, but kind of a given based on the location.)
Tumblr media
We have three big 'headlines' on this one page we see right here.
"Maple Lane Post Box Becomes Home to Spider Species Not Seen in 45 Years."
"Norton Institute Reports its Highest Intake of Students Since Opening in 1888."
"Billions Still Owed to Millions."
Little weird. we have two things that are an increase in happenings since a certain time period...and a not so surprising 'billions owed to millions.'
Then we flip it around a bit (and ignore the...weird way he's holding his hand)
Tumblr media
And we have the name of the newspaper. "TADFIELD ADVERTISER." With the main headline 'Is Tadfield the Best Village in England?' and no surprise that Crowley is keeping up to date and looking to see if anything else continues to happen with Adam.
The mini headline under the big bold one says 'According to voters of latest 'Best Village in England' poll Tadfield really is the loveliest place to live.' And in the tiny little blue box 'Entirely perfect weather AGAIN for Tadfield.'
So even after the end of season 1, it appears we still have some strange happenings in Tadfield. Right on.
By the by for those of you who didn't know, pretty sure every single page of Crowley's newspaper is the exact same.
Tumblr media
But I think another important detail is, same as Mr Brown (of Brown's world of carpets) Crowley also seems to be holding the newspaper so you can very clearly see what's on it.
Tumblr media
Next time something news related appears, we have our little red vessel appearing while Crowley loses his shit.
Tumblr media
Now we don't actually see newspapers again until episode 2. This specific one is a doozy and had me and @lady-of-the-puddle screaming over it.
When Aziraphale is looking for clues over the Buddy Holly record, we see him pouring over some newspapers.
Tumblr media
SO! Here we see Aziraphale reading a Scottish newspaper with an article titled "Everyday It's a gettin' closer" and we can see a couple more on the desk next to him. Now I've gone through and read the article (I'll post a screenshot so you can too if you want) and to sum it up it's basically the owner of The Resurrectionist discussing the records that keep changing to 'Everyday' by Buddy Holly and how he thinks it's a group of pranksters but never can catch them and the security measures he's tried to put up to prevent it from happening again.
Tumblr media
Now the thing that's weird to me is actually the variety of newspaper articles Aziraphale seems to have...from different countries.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now you might just kind of brush that off....but why on Earth would this news be important enough to make world news? Why would it be in news articles from different countries.
But most importantly...there's a typo.
Tumblr media
Now. I don't speak German (so correct me if I'm wrong) but I do know how to use Google Translate.
This German article is titled 'Eden Tag nähert es sich... dem Wahnsinn des Wirts!'
And I don't speak German (though I'd love to) but I plugged this in to Google Translate and what I found was insane. Now when it translates you'll notice that the word Eden doesn't translate.
Tumblr media
And there's a little suggestion underneath the German sentence, indicating you probably had a typo, and here's what you're probably looking for, which when you allow it to translate as such gives you...
Tumblr media
Weird right? You'd assume the correct version of the news article would be where they're quoting the song they're talking about (unless it's a different dialect or slang of course.) But it's interesting that if I'm correct and that is a typo...it says 'Eden.' Now if you watched season 1 or have some Biblical knowledge of sorts, you might be on the same page as me...
Why Eden? Why create an article that translates to 'Eden Day' instead of 'Every day.' I wonder how many of the other news articles seemingly have a typo?
If this show has taught us anything, what do we know about typos? (Insert Markiplier voice here) DEMONS, JIM! So could that news article possibly have been written by a demon?
Anyways as we continue on, the next (and most frequent appearance of newspapers) is Mr Brown (of Brown's world of carpets.) And I won't add all the instances of that because if you read my last post, you already saw them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But there he is, with his strange recurring article about accordion ducks.
But I actually want to focus on a different newspaper that appears in this scene. This gentleman right here.
Tumblr media
Looks normal right? Except you can just barely make out the corner of something peaking out next to his leg. Well guess what? This is the same guy who was sitting at the table Aziraphale emptied.
In which his newspaper never comes 100% into focus, but it's right there on screen, flashing and saying 'HEY LOOK AT ME!'
Tumblr media
in which he folds over his 'your travel' 'Milton Keynes' newspaper as such
Tumblr media
to a completely new side of the newspaper and walks away. But wait there's more.
Check this out.
Tumblr media
In which he turns to look at his newspaper AND ROTATES IT before going back to standing there looking like there's nothing in his hand. Look at these back to back shots though.
Tumblr media
Would you look at that. Our newspaper is back. Guess what though. When we look away from him again and back, the newspaper is once again gone.
Mind you this whole time, when the newspaper appears, you see Aziraphale's eyes continuously flickering away from his conversation with Mr Brown (of Brown's world of carpets) and directly past him. Possibly to the newspaper? Maybe trying to direct your attention?
Tumblr media
Here we have 'Thenewspaper' with articles
"Unearthed mysteries of sealed library basement."
and "Government approves funding for citywide [insert word here because i can't make it out thanks to his finger] stations."
Interesting....library basements and citywide funding. Huh.
Now as far as I'm aware, the only other times you see newspapers in the rest of the season, are Mr Brown (of Brown's world of carpets.) And even if there were more, I'd have to make a part 2 because I actually reached the image amount on this post.
That being said...there's a lot of weird shit going on with the newspapers, including our strange little accordion duck which has me absolutely bewildered. But I can't help but feel like the newspapers are important when everyone holding one seems to be holding it like a sign, just so that you can read it. Not to mention the freaking typo has me wide awake every night staring at my ceiling.
But for now, that's all I have. Stay tuned for another mental breakdown over something in this show that is preventing me from sleeping.
(Upon further examination I might be making yet another post about this.)

things you said at the kitchen table - (i was gonna say vashmeryl but you already did one of those for disconnect :3) soooooo stryfewood
This only took a genuine month to write, oops.
| Stryfewood (Mashwood hints) | Pining | Teasing | Wolfwood in a turtleneck | Also on AO3 |
---
Meryl does not often drink to the point of hangovers and for good reason. She prides herself in knowing her limits and abiding by them. But somewhere after leaving her work party with Milly timely because they had decided they deserved to celebrate their promotion proper instead of playing polite with work seniors, her sensibilities (and a shoe) seems to have gotten lost while drinking and dancing.
She remembers having fun, laughing and feeling light, and honestly, not much else. Certainly not how she must've stumbled home and face planted onto her bed without changing her clothes. And it all feels very unfair trade for the absolute misery she's experiencing right now.
When she makes her way to the kitchen for the second time this morning to have more water and attempt to stomach some food, Meryl feels a touch more human after a shower and fresh change of clothes, but there is still a wild herd of buffalos stampeding around the inside of her skull.
She does not see improvement in that condition in her future, considering just who is leaning against the kitchen counter, smirk spread on his handsome face.
Of course it would be just her luck that Wolfwood, her best friend's slash roommate's other best friend (more than that, she suspects, though they've not introduced any label to her, but neither are very good at being discreet about anything), has not left yet.
She thought he might have, since Vash is gone for the weekend without much explanation as to why (she's gotten used to his odd ways, even if she's not given up on bugging him for some truth), but then again Wolfwood treats this like his rent-free place. To the point she's told him he might as well move in with Vash and not waste money on his own apartment.
(Doesn't matter that she would probably need to look for a new place herself then, because she isn't sure she'd handle looking more often at Vash casually draped over Wolfwood's lap as the other man combs fingers through the blonde hair in a way she's quietly wanted to since their second uni year, or increase in the other sweet, casual intimacy acts on the daily.)
She mumbles a greeting to Wolfwood and slumps into her chair and then over the table, resting her head on her arms.
"Rough morning?" Wolfwood asks and she can hear him move around the kitchen, the soft clink of glass. What she doesn't expect is for it to be placed next to her on the table, his warm fingers brushing against her hand. She shifts to peer at him over her arm without lifting her head and his expression promises nothing good.
Still, she thanks him and straightens up to drink.
Wolfwood keeps watching her in a way that makes her incredibly self-conscious. He always does, when he puts his full attention on her, his dark eyes making her want to squirm and smooth down her hair. But right now, it's more and it's worse. (She hadn't known that was possible.)
Meryl feels a drop of water escape the corner of her mouth as she drinks and roll down her chin and neck and she could swear Wolfwood follows its path with his gaze, lingering where the droplet meets its end at the collar of her t-shirt and tracing the path back up to her lips.
Suddenly she really wishes Vash was here - though his cheeriness and volume would make her headache worse, at least he would distract Wolfwood, turn this into something more familiar. And the hangover soup he makes is divine.
It's not that she and Wolfwood can't hang out or don't get along - they do. In their own way that would make most people assume they can barely tolerate each other, sure, but what do they care about how others perceive their bickering. When she needs an honest, if biting opinion on her newest article or wants to tear the newest popular, but lackluster and plothole riddled series to shreds with someone who gets it , there is no one better to go to than Wolfwood.
(Vash loves to sit down and just listen to them go at it, chin in his hands and warm smile on his face that she can't look at too much directly or it sends butterflies dancing in her chest like sun spots.)
But all of that is one thing and the way he's looking at her as if he's gauging the best moment to pounce is something completely different. What's worse, he looks so good in the early morning - black turtleneck accentuating his broad shoulders and narrow waist, long fingers wrapped around a huge coffee mug almost as if on display, hair mussed just enough to make her want to mess it up a touch more and run her palm down his stubbled cheek.
Meryl drops her gaze first, gets a refill of water. If he makes a joke about her being thirsty again, she will cuss him out for real this time.
"So, what got our Miss Proper utterly wasted last night, hm?" Wolfwood doesn't seem satisfied to just let the silence rule across the kitchen and Meryl groans in mortification. She'd really hoped she hadn't run into him last night. God only knows what nonsense (or truths) she could babble in such a state.
"Got carried away celebrating a promotion with Milly," she admits, resting her head against the wall, skirting her gaze over him and toward the window, squinting at the light.
"Oh, how come I hear about that only now? Thought we were friends, gatinha," she makes a disgruntled noise at the pet name, out of principle not actual upset, "'N Vash usually can't wait to brag about yer achievements, can't believe he didn't call me to yell all about it."
Meryl hopes the heat in her face is not as vivid as it feels, she hadn't known Vash spoke about her like that when she isn't around. It feels more special somehow, than just the way he hypes her up when next to her, though she dearly loves that, too.
"We learned last night ourselves," Meryl explains. The news had mixed well with the champagne, sweet bubbles filling her head and making reason pop like one, too.
Wolfwood hums softly as he considers it, turning away from her to start washing his mug. It's a relief, not to have his eyes on her anymore, but part of her, a part that is surely still drunk, misses his gaze, the intensity and focus that he's been giving her this morning. The sort she could feel even when she wasn't looking at him at all.
Meryl is looking now, though. Letting herself appreciate the way the turtleneck hugs his form, how his shoulder blades move beneath the fabric as he reaches for the dish towel and dutifully, carefully dries his mug. He's always been the tidiest of them all. Her gaze tracks upward, to the back of his neck and she suddenly thinks - if she was taller, she could peel it back, revealing the beautiful line of his throat and press a kiss there, right beneath his ear. If she sat on the counter, she'd be just the right height -
The thought is not unfamiliar , but it startles her all the same and as she pushes it away, it rolls away with a sound like a cat toy filled with something to make a noise at the slightest shift.
"Suppose we oughta celebrate then, when Vash comes back," Wolfwood interrupts her attempts to ignore the rattling ball of bad ideas. She'd seen him turn back around, but somehow not registered it. Meryl hopes she didn't startle too visibly.
"That'd be nice," she agrees with a smile. Vash has a habit of throwing celebrations for the silliest reasons, like today is national pasta day or the day has gotten a specific length before the sun sets, so casual, silly get togethers aren't strangers to this apartment. And she really doesn't think she wants anything more, either. Even if they just treat her to pizza and her pick of a movie, she'd love it.
"No getting trêbada, tho, wouldn't want a repeat of last night."
There is something in his tone, something knowing and sly, that makes Meryl straighten up and tense, while he's still the perfect picture of relaxed swagger, relaxing against the counter and grinning at her.
"What do you mean?" Meryl's voice sounds dry and cracked, a pitch higher than she would have liked, and her heart is beating the drum in her temples at the tempo contest.
"Ya don't remember at all, do ya?" Wolfwood drawls and pushes himself off the edge counter. She sits with her hands clutched in her lap, feeling drawn like a bowstring, as he approaches her, stops so very close that their knees touch and when he leans down, she can distinguish his pupils from the deep, rich brown surrounding them.
She watches like spellbound when he hooks one of his long fingers behind the edge of his turtleneck's collar and peels it back, turning his head just so she can have a good look at the smudged lipstick mark on his throat. The same shade she'd scrubbed from her face earlier this morning, half surprised it had lasted until then, half lamenting it had gotten so smudged all the same. Perhaps it was understandable, considering what she'd gotten up to, Meryl thinks numbly.
"Kept that one for a good luck charm today," Wolfwood says, in a low voice that makes all of this somehow even more something she can't define in her current state. His word choice doesn't help - that one, as if she'd kissed him all over - and she can't tell if it's an image created by him or a stray memory, but she can picture doing just that, straddling his lap on the couch and pressing her mouth all over his face, with loud mwah noises to accentuate each sloppy kiss.
"If ya want to shower me in affection," Wolfwood continues, either oblivious or sharply aware of her internal spiral, and then his index finger tips her chin up just so, "prefer ya did it sober next time so I can reciprocate."
Her heart might jump through her mouth and into his face, for him to do with it as he pleases. Surely, even that would be less embarrassing. Surely, even that wouldn't be as impossible as the picture of possibilities that Wolfwood's just created.
"'N I think Blondie would like to join in on the fun, too." His thumb brushes a whisper of a touch across her bottom lip, a burning tingle left in its wake, and then he draws back to his full height, leaving her gaping up at him.
Just like that, he walks away, as if nothing has happened, as if her world didn’t just get shaken like a snowglobe.
At least that's what she thinks, until Wolfwood trips over the threshold and curses loudly. She can hear him stifling more choice words as he slightly limps down the corridor and the beautiful absurdity of it all makes Meryl burst into giggles, burying her face in her hands.
Maybe she'll get to kiss his ego better, later. God knows he doesn't need it, but she might anyway.

Potato Tweet: Barbie has already been robbed during the nominations. Now it’s been robbed even more.
I assume it’s common knowledge by now that Oscars are not about art, at least not in the first place. So when I look at the politics of the awarded, I worry. Oppenheimer is good, no questions asked. What I worry about is the politics of not giving an Oscar to Killers of the Flower Moon at all. Through that the Academy kind of admits that it doesn’t care about Native Americans and their story. They care about Mariupol, but doesn't one dare talk about Gaza. They care about gazing at women much less than about taking a quick, light-hearted look at their psyche. That’s sad and irritating.
What increases my discontent is the amount of statuettes Poor Things has left the ceremony with. And I’m not gonna moralize about the sexuality of a child, I’m not a Victorian lady… I’m rather wondering about all the similarities between Yorgos Lanthimos’ film and Greta Gerwing’s film. Both staring a well known woman, who’s also a co-producer of the respective piece. The protagonist of each film is what seems to be a grown ass lady, who differs from the common understanding of “normal” and “suited for a society” in one way or other. Both Barbie and Poor Things are visually stunning.
The categories in which both films were nominated are:
best picture
supporting actor (where it was kind of obvious it’s gonna be Robert Downey Jr., but I was holding onto the glimmer of hope it’s gonna be Ryan Gosling, so that the Academy can say “Hey, we awarded this pink movie something! Sure, it’s for the male supporting role in a very feminine movie, but we awarded it something!)
adapted screenplay
costume design
production design
The only two categories in which Barbie was nominated and Poor Things wasn’t, are:
actress in a supporting role
original song (with “What Was I Made For?” and “I’m Just Ken”)
Which scores it the total of 8 nominations in 7 categories.
Meanwhile Poor Things scored 11 nominations all together. It was nominated, except for the already mentioned, for:
actress in a leading role
cinematography
directing
editing
makeup and hairstyling
original score
For some perspectve: Oppenheimer got nominated in 13 categories.
What I'm trying to say here, is that it was understandable for me that Barbie got robbed cuz it's too entertaining, too pink, too commercial for the Academy. It wasn't the greatest production of the year. But it was an event! And just because of that it's already earned a very special place in the cultural history of the western world. I'd be interested to know how much of the commercial success of Oppenheimer was carried by Barbie and the other way around. The double-feature-premiere was a worldwide event of a scale of its own. Meanwhile Poor Things showed up rather late to the party. It's not a multiplex film. It's a Mubi film. It's artsy. It's different. It's also a story about women's sexuality written and directed by a dude, based on a novel by a dude. And the Academy likes it more than a story by women for women about what it's like to be a women, which also allows it to prove how much they care about Art. AKA how pretentious they are. That's my beef.

Me reading Jungkook's Tropical chart 2nd house (Part 2)
I'll upload the video and the transcript of it. At the end I added the wrong chart but it is what it is.
youtube
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something I forgot to mention in the previous video. With Jupiter being in aquarius 2nd house. This made Jungkook had a very weird or unusual childhood than the average person. Not in a bad way because his Jupiter is more so positive. His Jupiter makes him want to speak about trying to make society a better place.
All because aquarius is about humanitarianism and environmental science. Moving along his Jupiter aspects the 8th house of in laws (any in laws), not just the spouse's family, but Spouse's money, gifts, unearned money, inheritance etc. Perfect in regards to money because now Jupiter increases the amount of unearned money and gifts Jungkook obtains in his lifetime. Yeah he would be one of those types of people that would have other people willingly give him money and gifts. Gifts for particularly birthdays and Christmas. I wonder if his fans send him gifts?
A way he gets unearned money can happen is through inheritance. Keep in mind too 8th house is the spouse's finances so if he gets married or engaged We can easily assume he ends up with a spouse that has slightly above average income than the average individual. Since Jupiter increases the spouse's finances. He might have a spouse that comes from a big family background.
Here's the thing though since Jupiter in aquarius is giving its energy to the 8th house.Jungkook would have weird inlaws. Any in laws not just the spouse's family could be a sister in law.Another too whenever Jupiter influences the 8th house regardless of the sign a person becomes heavily involved. Involved with occult sciences like astrology.
Jungkook is definitely willing to pay an astrologer or a tarot/psychic reader. His views on things like astrology are kinda unusual. He wants scientific proof or a legitimate reason to believe in things like astrology. When he does indulge in those mystical things he won't do it the traditional way that it is practiced. People like to say Jupiter expands things and the 8th house represents genitalia but I'm not gonna get into that discussion. 🤣🤣
Tumblr media
Things of the 2nd house like money sources go into the 4th house. This means 4th house stuff like homes, vehicles, the mother etc become reasons for Jungkook gaining money. Then I remembered reading on my Twitter show picture of someone saying the 4th house represents our birth place. Turns out that might definitely be true for Jungkook. As we know he made lots of money from performing in Korea. This 2nd house placement that he has shows a person making money from local governments too.I wouldn't know how the local government stuff works for him though. His role would be to administer things. Which if he was to ever work a local government job or a partnership with the local government. Then Jungkook is doing something upper management related because Saturn is in the 4th house.
I could go on forever about this placement like how homes can make him money. Obviously most would say that's real estate. I think it's more so construction and him selling land rather than actual homes. 2nd house is family right? Connected to the house of homes or birth place. This means most of his family members stay in Korea and that's where his family lineage is from. Additionally family members stay in his homes. With Saturn in the 4th house either Jungkook's family members are restricted from going into residences that he stays in.
Now which family members? Only he or his family would know 🤣
Regardless if they do Jungkook doesn't like family members being in his home or vehicles. This shows family events happens in the places he lives. The house of savings is connected with the mother. I wouldn't know how that works but I don't think he would be a fan of his mother managing his savings. Which his mother doing so is very likely.
2nd house shows what we speak about so he speaks about local governments, what's going on his home environments. From the perspective of how it affects him rather than others. For example the local government implements a new law. Rather than Jungkook talking about how it affects the citizens of South Korea. He instead talks about how it affects himself. Since Saturn is in Aries. Aries represents the 1st house which is yourself.
This could show he keeps his savings in South Korea as well because the 4th house is birth place.
Follow me on the other apps I'm out.

i'm thinking abt the differences between arcane warrior and knight-enchanter (definitely not bc im gonna redo my amell pt or anything hahahahahahahaha nope no way im doing HAWKE next remember) to try and understand the shift, if there is one...
so in origins, you've got the spec that can be learned directly from what seems to be an elven spirit trapped inside a phylactery. this allows you to use magic in place of strength for damage and also for equipping weapons and armour. there's other abilities that block most damage, provide bonuses to armour, resistance, atk, defense and damage as well as mana regen. you have one weapon specific for arcane warrior, which is spellweaver.
this same spec actually also comes up in dai in multiplayer. it's split into two trees, mentalism and elemental. in dao you could have the aw spec and then have additional spells so im assuming the elemental tree (which has a lot of overlap w the rift mage spec) is maybe something specific to cilian rather than a general arcane warrior thing. the mentalism tree includes combat clarity, spirit blade (w defending blade ug) and fade shield. interestingly, it also includes passives that increase armour, bring up protective barriers, filling the area with sympathetic magic, stun when hit, increases in magic, willpower and constitution, immunity to flanking, reduced % of stagger, phasing when hit, threat reduction, damage bonus for missing mana, damage bonus against panicked. there are also actives that cause panic, dispel magic (w upgrades that allow that dispel to fuel your own damage and barrier), mindblast (w similar upgrades).
then you've got KE in dai, which also has spirit blade, fade cloak and disruption field. and the focus ability, resurgence, which is traditionally a spirit healer ability so idk why it's now a KE ability but that's certainly. a thought. especially since the spirit blade uses an actual spirit or wisp i think? the passives in this spec mainly deal with supplementing barriers, returning damage and faster mana regen.
so in an effort to like... expand/solidify what any of this means:
arcane warrior:
spirit weapons - like a spirit blade. (i assume spellweaver would've been something like that if they'd been able to pull it off with those graphics in dao). but i think arcane warriors - esp in dao - would have asked spirits or wisps to become part of the weapon.
barriers that are. not like normal barriers we see mages cast. these barriers absorb and reflect damage, boost mana regen, defense and damage, presumably because of whatever the differences are between something like shimmering shield in dao and a barrier spell.
knight enchanter:
also uses spirit weapons & barriers but spirits or wisps are bound to these weapons. there's no asking about it; i just think that fits the circle & the chantry's viewpoints about mages, but also spirits, and the relationship between the two.
specifically in terms of barriers, i think KE's are casting regular barriers and then learning how to add all these additional things to the barriers they're casting to mimic shimmering shield and aura of might in dao, simply because that knowledge is lost.
similarly, the way fade shroud (in dao) is cast is different to how KE's are casting fade cloak. that's why one is passive and the other is an active that only lasts for a short amount of time.
KE's also don't have the sustained combat magic that dao has. to me, this implies that KE's strength comes from the mage directly as opposed to being able to convert their magical power to strength. (BUFF MAGES BUFF MAGES BUFF MAGES BUFF MAGES--)
more spirit-school aligned than arcane warrior is on its own (i get the vibes from dao and cilian's ability trees that arcane warriors work well with elemental schools but ive also done entropy arcane warriors that have also been fun in dao? so hmm), hence you get resurgence, mind blast, disruption field (which reminds me of some of the mage abilities in awakening?) & mostly dealing spirit damage

i want to say so many things abt stsg & mc in dyf au so bad omg. i feel like their characters aren’t getting across and i don’t feel like talking in fic writing language i just want to vomit everything out
and also bcs nobody talks to me in asks :(
dyf IS an alternative universe where gojo and geto get together late first year/early second year if you haven’t already noticed.
i headcanon it would be around christmas when it’s so called ‘official’
it’s just?? kind of decided unanimously one day that they get together since they get each other so well? unsaid lovers kinda thing
dyf!mc actually assumed they were already dating during the start of the first year. its definitely love at first sight when they butt heads as often as they do right? she swears that ppl with that type of relationship either end up in a grave or in bed together
i’ve said this before but stsg’s relationship is something i view as far more than friendship or just a romance. there is this… unsaid understanding between them despite their differences. i imagine them as mirror images of the other, two halves of a whole, soulmates ykwim
everyone thinks gojo is the horny one, but it’s geto x190%
when do all 3 get together? officially, not yet. third year aus are typically them teetering ON romantic relationship, but definitely holds no water yet. but there is an increase in skinship that dyf mc had settled comfortably into and thinks it’s perfectly normal.
i mean, she does that with shoko right?? what’s the diff if she does it with these 2 that she loves just as much (and may or may not have a crush on)
anyway, back to dyf mc
i don’t know if it’s super obvious to everyone yet, but dyf mc definitely has some degree of social anxiety and depression, explaining the way she pulls back and gets lost in her thoughts instead to feel safe
she understands what she feels, but it’s very very overwhelming u get?
mc is also shown to be sensitive to cursed energy if u also didn’t notice loll,,,, to the point she can pinpoint the 3. or is it just because she has trained herself to feel for their specific auras hmmm??
anyway. since stsg are ‘dating’, she does try very hard to suppress anything romantic she tends to feel, and WILL convince herself that lITERALLY anything they try on her is STRICTLY PLATONIC bcs she just can’t believe these 2 will ever like her in THAT manner yk
and shoko? shoko is single. shoko is pretty. shoko is flirting with her. but since stsg treat her LIKE THAT, she thinks this is what happens when you’re getting close to others right?
she likes it a lot. she hopes they continue to stay close to her. (LMAO DENSE ASF)
tbh i didn’t intend for shoko to be so involved with mc. i wrote it that way bcs i had an equally huge crush on her and it just integrated itself naturally into my writing LOL
also, the smut threesome fics were all practice fics lolllll. i’ve never written threesomes in my life and they were my first cracks at it
something special for getting all the way here bcs im just rambling haha. i’m trying to get ppl to interact with me i’m so sad and lonely writing all by myself
in the bully! satosugu au
gojo and mc were actually childhood friends! imagine that. growing up in the neighbourhood with that spoilt, but kind little white-haired brat but him moving away soon after
only to see him again when you’re way, way older!and that other black-haired guy that he seems to be super close with. you’re gonna be friends again, right?
and he’s never been so excited to see you! he’s so much taller now and his arms are so strong, so different from the weak chubby flab of the child him that you thought was adorable, so you’d always ask your mom for extra snacks to eat together!
but now he’s literally picking you up, your feet barely touching the ground as he holds you so so so tightly, as if afraid you’d disappear
it’s nice catching up with him, sitting with him and a close friend of his, geto suguru at lunch, following them to the convenience store after school to get a quick snack
only for him to ignore you the next week when you bound up to him smiling, greeting him with excited cheer. he quirks a brow at you, shoving you out of the way before walking away…
what… did you do wrong? what’s wrong with him?

Alina and the Darkling’s interactions, pt. 14
(But also a bit of Malina drama and the Darkling’s qualities of a decent leader.)
Siege and Storm- Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Twice a traitor, twice deserter, murderer of her fellow soldiers, staying in a comfy private cabin, fed, allowed to see her beloved fellow deserter... What a life!
Tumblr media
I feel like there’s a step missing. Alina doesn’t know about the Sea Whip and its properties, yet she “figured out” the Darkling wants the amplifier for her. Based only on the assumption he’s insane and what’s more nuts than two amplifiers?! Good thing she’s the MC, so it works...
Remember, children: Even a person prone to jumping to conclusions can occasionally land on the correct one!
It’s madness, I told myself. He wouldn’t dare attempt it. The thought brought me little comfort. He always dared.
One of the Darkling’s best qualities. If there’s a way, he’ll try it.
Tumblr media
Stupid? Yes. Gullible? I’m sure the Darkling would wish so.
“Someone less stubborn? Less selfish? Less hungry for the life of a mouse? Believe me,” he said, “I wish I could.”
The Darkling’s often accused of wanting Alina weak and malleable, but the text shows quite the opposite! He wants confident Queen, only more open-minded and compassionate. He wants her proud and powerful, but helpful to Ravka and Grisha alike.
A Grisha can have only one ampifier. You told me that yourself.
No, he did not:
“If we have any hope of destroying the Fold, we need the stag’s power.”
“But maybe if I had one to practice with—”
“You know it doesn’t work that way.”
“I do?”
He frowned. “Haven’t you been reading your theory?”
The Darkling lets Alina draw a conclusion, but he doesn’t say she cannot get an amplifer, because she couldn’t have the Stag otherwise. I can see three possible reasons, all probably true.
a.) There’s no need for her to know about the rest yet.
b.) Alina’s main problem is lack of training, no skill. Amplifier for practice would only increase that power she cannot control.
c.) Why waste perfectly good amplifier on someone, who’s getting another?
I don’t understand why is the Darkling explaining anything to Alina. She’s obviously not willing to cooperate, yet he’s still schooling her. Somehow not giving up on her...
Tumblr media
I thought of the books I’d read on Grisha theory.
So, like three?
Alina sounds like a spoiled brat. I want, I want, I want! This is the main character in a world full of wars and suffering. Her tantrum reminds me of a certain evil step sister from a certain Russian fairy tale...
Tumblr media
When we’re there, the irony of the antagonist being the one to set aside his desires to achieve what’s more beneficial for others is also something else...
Tumblr media
Back to insulting the antagonist right in his face... because it’s the most mature reaction to disagreement and the safest way to persuade him not to kill your beloved LI.
You can’t control the Fold. It has to be destroyed.
... I know, because I’ve studied merzost for centuries like half an hour, when YOU were using it in front of me! Strategy for even longer, because that’s in every map maker’s poor, poor orphan’s curriculum!
I love when the Darkling’s rational about Alina’s usefulness.
Tumblr media
Alina once again assumes her precious Malyen’s gonna get hurt, even though the Darkling just told her how much he’d love to do it, but can’t... They’re both treated far better than they should’ve been, yet Alina’s first thought is death and torture. Just like back in the day, when the Darkling dare to ask about her day...
Like a fool.
Alina’s self-criticism's well deserved, but for different reasons than she wants us to believe. She’s not some defenceless victim surrounded by enemies, she’s merely close to facing consequences of her own reckless actions.
fool1/fuːl/
noun: fool; plural noun: fools
1. a person who acts unwisely or imprudently; a silly person.
And there’s nothing silly about her, or about anything she caused so far.
Aleksander’s done with her hysteria, but (un)fortunately possesses inhuman amount of self-control.
Tumblr media
17 y/o voice: It’s a fairy tale. A children’s story. It doesn’t actually exist. I would know. I got out of our tiny village like a year ago...
“Like the stag?”
“... or my sister? Oh, my mother didn’t mention her, when unearthing family dirt? She IS a mermaid, btw...”
I just have to add this thread...
Tumblr media
Let’s make infinitesimal a new effervescent!
Mal glanced at me. I gave an infinitesimal shake of my head.
Totally unexpected, and surely unnoticed by any Corporalki... but a moment later, the Darkling threatens to torture Alina and make Ivan heal her. Does it mean they don’t have any Healers with them? They would be less likely to survive and escape to join their general, if we use the “selfless doctor” stereotype to explain. Less used to combat, probably protecting their patients... Non-warriors are always easiest to kill.
Another proof the Darkling doesn’t enjoy cruelty or torture. He certainly knows when to use it, or threaten to do so, but never with other way at hand. Also, as a decent leader, he won’t have his people do something he’s not willing to do himself.
Tumblr media
How doesn’t anyone find this suspicious? I’d thought Sturmhond has a reputation to uphold. ... and not one of the knight in shining armour!
I also need to link this amazing AU, where Sturmhond has the balls to act like a ruthless pirate.
Tumblr media
The Darkling casually dismisses Sturmhond’s objection, to focus on matter at hand- namely persuading melodramatic couple to cooperate, since neither of them's willing to see the other harmed in any way. There’s no need to cease his actions, because unlike Sturmhond he’s aware they will never get to the torture.
He doesn’t waste time or breath on Sturmhond or his crew. They can be dealt with later, when Malina’s not present. The Darkling doesn’t show or tolerate disunity on the ship in front of the prisoners.
He uses theatrics to stall and unsettle Malyen. I have a suspicion that even the fact he’s touching Alina’s enough to bother the tracker.
Tumblr media
They’re so easy! There’s not even a scratch yet, and Malyen breaks! It’s probably supposed to show how much does Alina matter to him, but heroes should struggle, not cave in as soon as someone pulls out a knife! This way they look incredibly weak and I don’t understand, why should reader root for them.
Tumblr media
I know this is supposed to be Mal putting Alina’s well-being first, but he reads like a spineless coward.
The Darkling’s pretty generous for an insane megalomaniac, isn’t he? A week was Sturmhond’s first suggestion. Is it partly to appease him?
Tumblr media
This is just PATHETIC.
I feel like I’m reading Rosamunde Pilcher, not ‘chosen one’ kind of fantasy. I guess I understand noble silent suffering more than constant screaming of each other’s names.
They DO love their drama....
All previous parts.

As a healthcare professional and someone certified in first aid and CPR/basic life saving, I want to just point out how much I loath this panel from “Trinity”
Tumblr media
This is gonna be a long post. But the summary is, both only are both things Bruce did to help Jason and the others who were possessed (cuz demon possession in this arc) were 1) not good ideas 2) probably wouldn’t have worked as described and 3) unnecessarily painful.
Firstly, the defibrillator and the medical inaccuracy. Bruce, you should know better than this.
They are not designed to restart hearts - this is a very common misconception worsened by medical dramas. They’re designed to disrupt potentially fatal arrhythmias that don’t allow the heart to properly pump blood (which makes it hard to detect a pulse or heartbeat) by shocking the heart and temporarily stopping the natural electrical signals telling the heart to pump in hopes the heart’s natural pacemaker will reset itself. Yes, the heart can stop beating during this - it’s why it’s so dangerous to use a defibrillator on a healthy person and why medical personnel cannot touch the person being shocked unless they’re holding the paddles. Also, this is often painful to the person being shocked.
If a patient is flatlining, it’s a sign there is no electrical activity, meaning the heart is not sending signals to pump. A defibrillator is not designed to be used in that situation and isn’t gonna do much. And the companies that make defibrillators have warnings that state using them in this situation may irreparably harm the person. It is difficult to get a person back from this - current recommendations are to start CPR in hopes the heart might decide to come back and/or to give adrenaline.
(As a side note here, some hospitals have devices that can stimulate cardiac contractions to assist with CPR. Those devices may also have defibrillators attached to them for easy access).
Secondly, Potassium Chloride (KCl) injections are well known for causing death. In general, increased levels of potassium in the body, even from supplements or medication, can cause severe and life threatening arrhythmias which can lead to death if untreated. We can argue here, Bruce used this injection to trigger an arrhythmia to allow him to temporarily stop a heart a defibrillator. This would actually make sense, but there’s a snag because it’s not that simple.
You have to treat the increase of potassium in the body. In the hospital, this is usually done with infusions of calcium and/or glucose and insulin (insulin levels and potassium levels are inversely proportional). You can’t just inject a person with KCl and assume you only need a defibrillator.
The current cocktail infusions used to stop hearts during surgery (referred to as Cardioplegia) do use potassium for that, but also have other components to limit other side effects and protect the heart from damage. Usually, the heart restarts on its own after the solution is removed. There are instances where mild localized shocks are needed which are nowhere as intense as those seen with defibrillators. Mind you, patients need to be on cardiopulmonary bypass while under the effects of Cardioplegia to prevent brain damage.
But the other big issue with this method of stopping the heart is that injections of KCl are excruciatingly painful. Due to how it affects the body and inflames the vascular nerves, you have medical texts that describe the damage as burns or mimicking burns - people who have dealt with this either intentionally or unintentionally have described it as feeling like their veins are on fire. Even diluted KCl infusions for medical purposes can be painful and unpleasant.
The fact Batman did this to his own son with the purpose of killing him without any sort of thing to help stop that pain, really, really bothers me.
Also, why would Bruce just have KCl concentrate injections????????

your opinion on 2022 winter Olympics
okay so im assuming this is only about figure skating and i mean oml there was so much going on. below the cut bc i think this is gonna be long.
okay so FIRST OF ALL the kamila valieva situation. where to begin. (as a note: none of this is a statement on her except in relation to the 2022 olys)
the positive test being from rusnats and only being found out in february is weird. idk if we ever found out exactly why that happened? but i can only assume it was meddling from the russian end.
i think the media response was cruel, and i think part of that was a lot of people were trying to talk about it without knowing the full situation, but the amount of vicious hate and blame kamila received was unjustified. she was fifteen years old and in an abusive situation, to what extent she knew about the doping is irrelevant in my mind, the blame falls on the adults in power (mainly her coaches). eteri tutberidze is notoriously controlling and abusive, and there is no way any of that was happening without her being responsible. she controls the amount of WATER her skaters can drink. skating at that level, especially in russia, your coach is practically your primary guardian; if eteri told her to dope then there was pretty much nothing she could do. only eteri girls were ever going to go to the olympics, if she switched coaches that would have ended her life's goal (and the way they train is so all-consuming that to not get to the olympics at all would have felt life shattering).
should she have been been allowed to skate? i dont think so. at least partially bc it essentially proves to coaches that you can "get away with" doping as long as the people you are drugging are children. obviously having an athlete who has taken performance enhancing drugs is unfair to everyone else, but that goes without saying. HOWEVER i do understand the worry that the test could have been wrong or she might not have known, either way it would have been unfair to her. (the "irreparable harm" quote is always taken out of context - they meant that if she skated and was found guilty they could strip her of the medal, but if she was banned and found innocent there was no fixing it). ultimately though i think letting her skate was the wrong decision (especially since the case STILL hasnt been settled).
i dont think eteri told her to throw the free to make sure the others got their medals, because she looked so traumatised afterwards and eteri reacted so badly (ive never understood this theory tbh)
that was the first scandal from the olys but oml it was definitely not the last. there was so much going on. olympics from hell. lets talk about the womens podium.
(but first a note on ultra c elements: do i think the sport is suffering because of the increased value placed on jumps? yes. do i think artistry is important? absolutely. do i think there is a conversation to be had about the morals of training young children (especially girls) to do dangerous jumps that cause permanent damage to their bodies? one hundred fucking percent. things need to change in this sport. however. i will make repeated references to whether or not someone is jumping ultra c when discussing the podium, because that is how its scored atm, and i do think that they aren’t irrelevant (it is a sport, athletic feats are also important) just please please know that i am also taking artistry into account its just harder to objectively phrase in a short paragraph and this is already long enough). okay caveat over. please no one attack me. lets go.
look i KNOW the most pressing question is do i think anna deserved gold HOWEVER. have you considered. did anna deserve to be sent to the olympics at all. and this makes me insane because like?? skating like she did at the olys?? yeah she probably deserved to be there!! so it kinda seems mean to talk about this but ALSO i feel like we definitely have to not forget it so. the russian olympic team was pretty much based off of the podium for rusnats, which that year was kamila, sasha, anna. but anna in third place was veryyy controversial bc like. she had no ultra c elements at all (and her tech is DODGY so without them it gets even harder to justify her high scores) but elizaveta had a triple axel (and better tech) so a LOT of people thought that she should have come third, but rusfed just wanted to send anna to the olys instead (which i pretty much agree with).
but okay whether you like it or not she DID make the olympic team so. womens olympic podium. a grenade of a question. everyone is allowed their own opinions on it im not saying anyone is wrong if they think differently!!!!! also im only going to talk about the top five bc this is already wayyy too long.
i know on tiktok a while back the popular opinion was that wakaba should’ve been gold, which i don’t really agree with, however she absolutely should not have been fifth. no doubt in my mind she should have been at LEAST fourth, if not third. kamila should have been behind her i don’t care how many quads she was attempting, she fell like five times. she got through on reputation and the eteri bonus alone. kaori did skate cleanly, but with no triple c, and her tech isn’t great on some of her jumps, so wakaba (who fell on a jump, but had a triple axel, and generally better tech and artistry imo) could have come third and i would have been happy. anna i go back and forth on, because her artistry is alright, and technically she does jump quads, but her tech skills are SO questionable (her quad lutz is neither a quad nor a lutz). the tech bar for quads is lower than for triples, and i do kinda think that makes sense, but her quad tech is worse than most of the other quad jumping girls so it’s a fair comparison. i don’t think she deserved gold, but im never fully sure about silver either. honestly her, wakaba, and kaori can fight it out for second/third/fourth. in terms of actual skaters i like wakaba best, in terms of who performed best on the day i think you could make a compelling argument for any order.
that of course leaves sasha in first place. i know she fell on her triple axel in the short, but the only people who didn’t fall at all were anna (i’ll talk about her last) and kaori, and while triple c elements aren’t the only important thing, the skater who fell on one and landed five kind of has to be above the skater who attempted none at all, imo, so that puts kaori out of the running. wakaba fell once as well, and she definitely has the edge on artistry, but i don’t think sashas artistry was as bad as a lot of people say, especially in her short, so i don’t think thats quite enough to put wakaba ahead of sasha overall. sasha’s tech skills were so much higher than the rest of the skaters that i think it would be almost impossible to bridge that gap with artistry alone. lastly theres anna, who ofc actually won the ogm. two clean skates, slightly better artistry, much worse tech (i know sasha’s tech isn’t perfect either, but she’s definitely better – id say thanks to plushenko). annas tech should have been called, if not her edges then at least for prerotation. sasha fell on a triple axel and anna landed a double in the short, sasha landed five quads and anna landed two in the free. taking into account how poor her quad tech is, i don’t think that her artisty is enough to pass sasha.
however!!!! again i want to reiterate!!!!! everyone is allowed their own opinions on this!!! i do not give a damn if you think that anastasiia shabotova should have come first!!!! go you!!! to each their own <3
now for something that i do think you can wrong about. the reaction to sashas reaction to the scores was appalling. she was seventeen years old (a CHILD) in an extremely high stress situation and had been told by her (abusive, manipulative) coaches that if she landed all five quads she would win, and when this turned out to be untrue she got upset and had what was clearly a panic attack, asked not to be filmed and was ignored by every cameraman in the area, had to immediately go in front of millions of people while still being a mess, and was then attacked from all angles for being “ungrateful” and “showing bad sportsmanship.” show some empathy. (especially ppl who are still giving out about it now “on behalf of anna” when they seemed to be at least friendly again as soon as the very next day)
OKAY WE’RE ALMOST DONE i mostly only follow women’s so the rest of this is going to be brief
sui/han deserved ogm, my sister and i were rooting for miura/kihara to do well but we knew there was no chance for a medal. loving seeing them do so well rn.
nathan chen’s costume was ridiculous. last time i said my nathan chen take i got eaten alive on tiktok so im not gonna say much about him. he did deserve gold tho.
scoring felt harsh on yuzuru. wish he’d gotten another ogm but it wasn’t meant to be. im glad he got to attempt the quadruple axel at the olympics at least.
papadakis/cizeron ogm deserved.
oh MY god i forgot about the team event. pls someone save me. im so sorry i know no one wants this much. this isn’t even the worst i can do. i have talked at my friends for hours straight before about figure skating. i cant help it i have no control. we are going to ignore the team event okay. Just give them their medals. pls. i beg. they still don’t have their medals. i know it sucks for the rest of the russian team if they lose the gold bc kamila was stripped but you have to give the rest of them their medals.
anyway if you made it until the end here is a gold star ⭐ i don’t know how you did it.

This is gonna be long, honey soooo… buckle up.
We have Desmond linked to the God of Wine, Dionysus / Bacchus with this fic (show some love and kudos this please, I adore this concept).
However, what if Desmond by chance ( Isu bullshit)  that he absorbed when he touched the Eye as he time travels back In the Renaissance before the Auditore family execution event, it manifested in him having demi-god traits but with two Gods I have in mind.
1. Aphrodite or Venus, goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation. Accidentally becoming a matchmaker for people like Des incidentally shoved a man by mistake who the man then bumped into a woman, BOOM! the two madly fell in love at first sight and married with children or his charm increases, making people fall in love with Desmond. This adds angst if Desmond discovered this power,  He has low self-esteem and is severely traumatized (fuck you William for that). He would believe they really don’t love him especially the assassins and it’s just a illusion they do. Actually they do, the power only boosted his charisma but Desmond doesn’t know this shhhhh.
2. Eros or Cupid, god of carnal love. 16 year old Desmond with his newfound freedom after running away from the Farm. It’s no surprise he could be a sexually liberated man especially he’s a hot bartender to hook up in the back alley of Bad Weather. He might dabbled in BDSM, he’s a switch, but preferably doms. He also got a vasectomy to avoid impregnating a woman no Elijah in thishe believes that he shouldn’t have children, after having narcissistic father and possibly an emotionally neglectful mother can do that. An ability to sense lust or desires of a person in eagle vision could be possible.
With that being explained, regardless of which God, these abilities have pros & cons. Desmond when he is in the Renaissance, he’ll be low-key but he can’t stand out and without the currency to have a peaceful life, we needs a job. By some gift of the universe or it hates him. He ended up as a bodyguard of Rosa in Fiore by saving some courtesans from aggressive drunken men while in his clothes devolved in rags by the heat of the Eye when arrived, making him look like a beggar, good thing it was night time so his face wasn’t seen by the girls.
Its been weeks doing this job, Desmond have saved plenty coins but not enough to buy land far away and live his life maybe as a farmer or open a tavern. Lately, he been feeling unwell, no matter he drank to quench his thirst, his throat is dry as if he been in dessert with no water survive and started having hot flashes. It could just because of the clothes he donned, not a single silver lining of his skin is shown except the upper part of his face and hair but he was assumed it was if it were the fact he started having wet dreams, from memory of his many hook ups in New York or some constructed with people with no faces. He gets aroused, yes, but he has self-restraint but he also frustrated and losing his rationale.
“Dezmund~” Bianca, a courtesan who been attempting to lure him to bed. The other courtesans entertaining the patrons who had too much wine, too busy to notice the two, giving them a sense of privacy. “Bianca” he nodded with one brow raised at her. Bianca practically started to entice him with her usual flirting to him. You know what, fuck it, he thought, he proceeded to ———————

Yeeeaaaahhhh…i won’t be too detailed so it won’t be overbearing. So giving you the mental picture is that Desmond used his knowledge of BDSM, blindfoled and tied Bianca and used her mouth to empty his frustration while he is still completely clothed. He gave her sweet aftercare and realizing his symptoms are gone and his mind is clear and —- oh fuccccckkkkkk he unintentionally created a chain reaction after this event involving himself more to the Brotherhood, the Auditore family and Leonardo
Anyway, thanks for reading this till the end, mwah <3

Additions by teecup:
… that sounds like Desmond has the curse of an Incubus, needing to ‘unload’ his pent up energy to another person.
And you know who would be fascinated by it?
Leonardo Da Vinci.
Perhaps it was during one of the times that Leonardo went to a brothel to find ‘inspiration’. Maybe it was because he had been nursing a crush on Desmond who was unattainable to his eyes, a simple bodyguard meant to keep everyone safe.
He would see the complicated expression on his face. The frustration in his eyes.
And the flushed cheeks.
Oh, Leonardo would be smitten but he’d try to act like a friend, as any attraction he might have pales in comparison to his worries concerning Desmond’s wellbeing.
Desmond sees him and finds himself being unable to lie to Leonardo.
He needed to tell someone about his problems and he trusted Leonardo.
So Leonardo listens and…
Things start to snowball from there.
At first, it was simply Leonardo trying to help Desmond while studying his ‘affliction’.
Then it became more for the thrill and pleasure they would receive from one another.
Desmond becomes Leonardo’s muse and sometimes his model…
Maria Auditore saw Leonardo’s potential and started commissioning him…
Federico comes in to get one of the finished commissions and… finds Leonardo and Desmond in a very compromising situation.
Instead of leaving… Federico decided to join in.
And Desmond knew that Federico was hiding something but it would be a while before he realized that during this time, two years before the fated day that the Auditores would be executed, Federico was already on his way to becoming a member of the Brotherhood…
Also… maybe Leonardo and Desmond have an open relationship which will give us more option for Desmond to ‘partner’ up with (like maybe… La Volpe??? XD)

Brockton Bay vs. Omelas
So I often hear people call Taylor a utilitarian. And I can see where this comes from—its not like you could justify Gold Morning using deontological ethics* (Kant specifically said don’t use people as means to an end Taylor, mass mind-control of the entire cape population to throw in front of Scion definitely counts.) She talks about how she doesn’t really believe in actions being inherently good or bad except in extreme cases, and is constantly acting in accordance to bringing a specific endstate into existence. It’s not exactly a huge leap.
But there’s one area where I feel she pretty concretely steps away from utilitarianism, to the point where I reconsidered her whole ethical framework. Specifically, her unwillingness to go along with Coil’s plan once she learns about Dinah. And to explain why, I’m going to go into one of the most famous ethical thought experiments ever created, Ursula K. Le Guin’s short and profound The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas.
Short summary (though its only four pages so I encourage you to just read the pdf): Le Guin asks us to imagine a paradise, one where people live rich, fulfilling lives, are free from wretchedness and despair, and all-in-all are doing much better than any of us in our shitty societies. But there’s a cost to this ambiguous utopia—one child must live alone and in squalor, perpetually in misery. Its a condition that must be filled for the rest of the populace’s happiness. Each citizen of Omelas has this explained to them, are shown the poor child as soon as they’re old enough to understand, and most come away saddened but determined to make the most of it, living to the fullest to give the child’s pain all the more meaning. Others, burdened by the knowledge and unable to continue enjoying a life brought to them through a child’s pain, leave in the night to places unknown.
The story is one of the most famous and cutting critiques of utilitarianism, because utilitarianism on first brush seems to say that Omelas is justified in being set up like it is. The joy of the populace is so great that it more than makes up for the suffering of a single person, the principle of “greatest happiness for the greatest number” is certainly being fulfilled. If the child’s pain leads to a greater utility (net happiness), it would actually be evil by a utilitarian standard to try and save the child. Yet most of us could only react with disgust to Omelas, intuitively finding it unethical. So, if our intuitions are to be trusted, there must be a problem with utilitarianism.
Now, I’m gonna ignore the utilitarian responses to the Omelas critique, interesting as they may be, and instead show how the thought experiment maps almost perfectly with Taylor’s reaction to Dinah’s situation.
“I do not know the rules and laws of their society, but I suspect that they were singularly few....Perhaps it would be best if you imagined it as your own fancy bids, assuming it will rise to the occasion, for certainly I cannot suit you all.”
Le Guin does not specify much of the political system of Omelas (doing so would risk taking people with different politics out of the intended headspace of “paradise society”). This leaves us free to ask what Omelas would look like for Taylor. It probably isn’t wholly unlike our own; Taylor isn’t an ideologue hoping for a communist revolution or nationalist monarchy or anarchist world-commune. Instead, if her thoughts as Khepri are any indication, she wants a world like the one she’s used to, but more sane—people working together against common enemies, systems doing their jobs and preventing the bullying she experienced, the threats that drive her to constantly seek safety in increased power getting dealt with. She doesn’t want crime eradicated, per say—her happiest moments were as a criminal, after all—but she want’s it predictable, safe, controlled. She wants all the scary, chaotic elements of life being guided by an individual will.
In short, she wants someone like Coil in charge of things from the shadows. Having criminals act only under his sanction. PRT heroes and street villains being guided by the same hand. A ruler who wants to improve things for the common citizen of Brockton Bay—not imposing themselves overtly, but making their presence felt in the good they do. Getting the ferry up and running.
That is Taylor’s Omelas, and that’s what she walks away from when she is shown Omelas’ wretch.
“They all know it is there, all the people of Omelas. Some of them have come to see it, others are content merely to know it is there. They all know that it has to be there. Some of them understand why, and some do not, but they all understand that their happiness, the beauty of their city, the tenderness of their friendships, the health of their children, the wisdom of their scholars, the skill of their makers, even the abundance of their harvest and the kindly weathers of their skies, depend wholly on this child's abominable misery....They would like to do something for the child. But there is nothing they can do. If the child were brought up into the sunlight out of that vile place, if it were cleaned and fed and comforted, that would be a good thing, indeed; but if it were done, in that day and hour all the prosperity and beauty and delight of Omelas would wither and be destroyed. Those are the terms. To exchange all the goodness and grace of every life in Omelas for that single, small improvement: to throw away the happiness of thousands for the chance of the happiness of one: that would be to let guilt within the walls indeed.”
Deep down, Taylor almost certainly knew that Coil would never willingly let Dinah go. She’s the only thing that would let his Omelas work in the long term. To avoid leadership threats, to find the best plan to steer the city long-term, Coil would need Dinah’s predictive ability—and that means continuing to keep her locked up and drugged, continually forced to hurt herself giving information, continually losing herself to the drugs and being forced into the role of “pet.” With her, Coil’s leadership could be a success; without her, it couldn’t develop past Calvert’s paranoia and inability to make truly risky plays. Even when the Undersiders more-or-less took over Coil’s position, they suffered from Dinah’s absence, to the point that their leader got unmasked almost immediately and had to turn herself in to get the heat off of them.
And yet, Taylor looks at the chance of greater happiness for the citizens of Brockton Bay, and compares it to the chance of the happiness of one, and decides screw it, I’m gonna unleash hell to free this child.
“At times one of the adolescent girls or boys who go to see the child does not go home to weep or rage, does not, in fact, go home at all. Sometimes also a man or woman much older falls silent for a day or two, and then leaves home. These people go out into the street, and walk down the street alone. They keep walking, and walk straight out of the city of Omelas, through the beautiful gates. They keep walking across the farmlands of Omelas. Each one goes alone, youth or girl man or woman. Night falls; the traveler must pass down village streets, between the houses with yellow-lit windows, and on out into the darkness of the fields. Each alone, they go west or north, towards the mountains. They go on. They leave Omelas, they walk ahead into the darkness, and they do not come back. The place they go towards is a place even less imaginable to most of us than the city of happiness. I cannot describe it at all. It is possible that it does not exist. But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.”
Taylor does not merely walk away from her Omelas. She burns it down, destroys the possibility of it ever existing. Because she’s not a pure utilitarian, she can’t let the continuous suffering of one justify the happiness of many. She is willing to let go of her only real friends, willing to make herself invaluable via incredible villainy, is willing to shoot a man in the head and with it the hope of a better city, rather than let one child suffer.
So if Taylor isn’t a pure utilitarian, what is she? I’d argue that she’s utilitarianism’s younger, hipper cousin: Taylor’s a Rawlsian. She acts according to the philosophy of John Rawls, who claimed that justice can be discovered by asking what you would want a society to look like from the Origninal Position, behind the veil of ignorance—that is, from a position pre-birth without knowing who you would be born as. If you didn’t know you if you would be rich or poor, black or white, senator or subaltern, what would you want society to look like? According to Rawls, you would want to make sure the worst off never had it too bad—from behind the veil of ignorance, you have no way of knowing whether or not you’d be the worst off, and wouldn’t want to risk being in an untenable situation. This is the maximin principle—the minimum utility one can experience in society (that is, the utility of the worst-off) should be maximized. Thus, while a Rawlsian would agree with a utilitarian on a lot of policies, they would be completely unwilling to worsen the position of the worst-off no matter how much it helped everyone else. There could be no imprisoned Dinah’s, no wretches of Omelas.
This philosophy is also in line with a number of Taylor’s other ethical eccentricities. She maneuvers people into horrible positions, but claims that she never makes anyone do anything she wouldn’t be willing to do (and @junebugtwin makes a good case that she’s actually being truthful here). This is effectively a claim that her course of action would be agreed to from behind the veil of ignorance. She wants a society where people act fundamentally different but doesn’t imagine much in the way of structural change; Rawls pictures an ideal society being based on principles of true egalitarianism and reciprocity, but in practice many Rawlsians only advocate for loosely social democratic positions to achieve this rather than more radical programs.
So for those like me who initially saw Taylor’s reaction to Dinah as not really matching up with her other ethical judgments: there is actual consistency here. It’s just not with the ethical system that you might have thought of at first.
*Deontology is any ethical system that says certain actions are bad and should be avoided as a rule**. To use an insultingly simplified example, while a utilitarian/consequentialist could say “killing this man is bad because it causes suffering and death without any proportional upside”, deontology would say “killing this man is wrong because murder is wrong.”
**I’m gonna ignore that this simple definition technically lumps in Rules Utilitarianism with deontology because that whole debate is not worth getting into on a tumblr post. Ditto for whether Rawlsianism is deontological or consequentialist or its own thing.

Unicorn Warriors Eternal ep5
Welll that was a lot more like it. Finally started to get interesting.
All I can say is things make a LOT more sense with Melinda and Merlin. And as much as Edred stated Emma was in the way. I think this episode proves it wrong. Emma and Melinda need to work together to finish the job(if I’m assuming it can be finished). And this was a good change from these two constantly butting heads.
Emma got to see why Melinda is the way she is and gain empathy. I think that understanding will help Melinda heal from what she’s avoiding (trauma wise) and Emma understand her spirit?/incarnation whatever. I did enjoy the child Melinda getting along with Emma. Besides the factor that we saw Melinda as a child, who did make mistakes, Emma herself got to see a side of her she probably hides, her vulnerability.
That being said... I do have questions. I got glimpses and  but I think we only got part of the picture... so Melinda is Merlin’s daughter... so I assume Edred is his son-in-law. Merlin knew his daughter had magical abilities and choose to hide them from his wife. And his wife is... Morgan (maybe Morgan Le Fay? maybe that could had just been picked at random)
My question is... what was Merlin referring to when he said he hid the truth from her intentions. Is he referring to that she’s too over protective? Now yes I know she stated it... but unless Melinda was hurting people(which didn’t seem the case so far). Why was she so hellbent on removing the powers from her? The “evil” wasn’t there yet. The magic itself is questionable... considering it fought back even without Melinda really using her full strength.
Was Morgan honestly just trying to stop Melinda from being like them or her father? (To which I’d have to ask why marry a wizard in general that increases your chances) Still confused on the situation. Is their magic alive or something? Cause Morgan did argue with it oO? But again... she herself has something similar.
So the evil itself is... technically Merlin’s wife... fused? Or cursed by Melinda’s magic.... well kinda makes more sense now why Melinda seems triggered by that “what did you do response”. I honestly thought it was Emma’s doubt, but its Melinda’s own subconscious from the trauma of what happened with her mother. To which it makes me wonder... is this thing even evil to begin with. Merlin was willing to put his own daughter on a never ending life loop to stop his wife. But to my knowledge (again so far we’re only getting a glimpse so don’t jump me on fanguessing)... but not to kill her.
And I’m just gonna say it. If Merlin blamed his child for whatever happened(and no I’m not blaming a child for that scenario Melinda was literally a baby).. could explain even more why she’s so... gonna say it coldhearted a bit. If thats the case, Merlin(even if there’s a chance he took it back) blamed his child and made her constantly train to fix this mistake. Even when Melinda was hurt in the pilot, Merlin never showed a hint of worry unlike her teammates.
Whether its meant to or not, it makes you feel like Merlin used his daughter and instead of taking some responsibility/ or comforting his child he just made her do all the hard work for something that technically was caused by his lack of communication with his wife. And this magic? I dunno we need more time on that one.
Plussss would explain that voice Melinda heard in the pilot. That being said.. does that mean the fox (or kitsune) is just an agent? Why would the kitsune be helping “Morgan”/the evil? Hmmmm
Then Winston, some ACTUAL use for this guy. It was nice to see him for once not going worrying about Emma every 5 seconds. Buttt now we have a more interesting development...
Did the “Evil” lure him there on purpose? Or was that a victim genuinely warning him to stay away? As for the obvious werewolf development. That really depends on what version Tartakovsky has picked. Werewolves aren’t just “mindless monsters” now thanks to a lot of media. I do think he is picking a somewhat typical cliche that he won’t have control over it. But who knows?
Maybe he will? Maybe he’ll ACTUALLY be of some help for the team or he’ll be “Oh shoot my fiance has to save the world... but I can help” (So long as there’s no silver bullets involved)
Buttt if it does go the typical monster cliche. Then yeah that goes two ways... one Emma/Melinda has to cure him. Or two... Winston can’t be controlled/or helped and she’ll be forced to kill him. Hmm either way he finally got interesting
