the issue with practicing good self-care is that it's so much easier to do when you're already feeling okay
on a day where I'm not in abject despair, I can go for a walk with little effort and stop myself from looking myself up and not get sucked into scrolling mindlessly on socials that'll make me feel like shit because I'm "not good enough"
but on a day when I do feel bad, not only are those things really, really hard to do but I actively want to do the harmful things even more. On a bad day, I am like 70% more likely to google myself. On a really bad day I want to actively seek out and read bad reviews (I don't, but the urge follows me around all day). Why? I don't know! It's like a form of self-harm.
And then of course if you give into those urges on the bad days, they make the bad days last longer and the good days harder to get back to.
I dunno where I'm going with this other than the fact that the human brain is a hot fucking mess and I wish it would behave itself.

Y'all sometimes just stop and think that the S2 footage already exists???? Like, they wrote and finished the script, the actors played their parts, the events of S2 already happened. Everything we are hoping to see is done, it exists. There are 10 episodes waiting for us. It's not edited nor finished but it's THERE. We currently exist along with it, that makes me insane actually wtf.

Thank you to Steph for making Tim a more tolerable weirdo fan....maybe she can hit him again
She's just gotta keep wacking him over the head with a brick until he finally becomes just a normal guy who's not completely insufferable

I know this is like super old news but can we talk about how uchtdorf got demoted and has barely spoken in conferences (the ones I’ve watched at least) since monson died. Like they really replaced probably the most objectively liked guy of the bunch with the most controversial guy. And from what I know, it’s not often that they almost completely redo a first presidency after a pr/phet dies. I know it was probably to rebrand the whole thing; they couldn’t start looking too nice and progressive, but like what did uchtdorf do????

i am thinking about how rowan thinks he’s fine because he has a clean room and showers everyday. how he’s so obsessed with being in control of things. and i might be projecting, but- what if OCD? you know, OCD often manifests because you’re scared or stressed and feel out of control, so you focus on the things which you can control, like routines and habits.
just. what if Rowan and OCD.

What if jonah prefers symbolic/nonmoving eyes and doesn’t look through other people’s eyes very much because he’s prone to motion sickness and looking through moving eyes is sort of like watching someone else play portal. Gerry’s tattoos also don’t/didn’t get looked through much for the same reason

one of my favorite tropes ever is knowing something or someone so deeply it goes deeper than what your brain knows. it’s so imprinted on your heart that even though you may not remember, your heart knows. that that familiarity is not something you’re making up. my heart calls your name. romantic, platonic, familial, it doesn’t matter. the yearning that comes with it.

I don’t think Wally has any teeth. I mean, look at him! Is he ever depicted with teeth?

i’ve been thinking. arranged marriage aren’t uncommon in the untamed universe, right? we’ve seen an example of that, but how common are they? are they made uncertain times or are they considered so normal that marriages out of love are actually considered as foreign?
i think the latter would be interesting.
marriages are nothing more than political contracts to lan zhan, because he’s grown up in a big and powerful sect and that’s just how it goes in big and powerful sects. children are signed away with promises of aid and protection and material tributes. lan zhan, as the second heir and dead disciple, is very aware of his popularity among sects. he gets a betrothal proposal every month. he doesn’t feel a particular way about it - it’s just another one of the duties that naturally come with his status
it is slightly annoying, though. he’s received a ridiculous proposal letters in the past four years, starting when he was fourteen. it distracts him from his studies and responsibilities because he’s required to give each letter a considerable amount of attention and thought, although the answer stays the same.
so one day, he just - accepts. one of these letters. he’s informed his betrothed is called wei ying, courtesy wuxian, and that’s it.
he expects it to be nothing more than what he’s seen close-up: respectful but distand, carefully neutral and strategically detached.
what a surprise it is when he sees wei ying for the first time and thinks, shit, he’s beautiful. what a surprise it is when wei ying turns out to be the most disagreeable and provocative person lan zhan’s ever met. what a surprise it is when lan zhan doesn’t really mind too much.

Listen, I'm not trying to blame Leodagan and Seli for anything, like I love them both very much, but they're also very sitcom-y? Like they're incredibly functional and they've both got this strange respect for each other, which is great, but its very easy to miss and they come off as a very sitcom kind of couple? Like they're basically the "God I hate my wife she keeps nagging me" and "God my husband's awful why am I putting up with his garbage" pair you see in older TV shows.
And I can't help but think about how Guenievre and Yvain would've interpreted that as children, seeing their parents argue and bicker all the time, because how would that have affected the relationships that their children have? Would Guenievre have left Arthur for Lancelot earlier? Because I don't think she has self worth issues, and we know she's not the kind of person to stay in a relationship if she knows the other person doesn't care (as we see from her leaving arthur at the end of book 3) so that leads me to conclude that she stayed with him because she thought that people were supposed to be mean to each other when they cared.
"But dude," you say, "She's supposed to be a little dumb, that's obviously why she stayed with Arthur even though he ignored her in favor of his mistresses and never treated her like an equal." But I disagree! She's naive but she's not dumb? (at least I don't think she's dumb) She just convinced herself that the crumbs she got were okay until she found out about Arthur and Mevanwi and Arthur chose her over Guenievre.
Obviously this changes in the later seasons, Arthur isn't outright mean to her anymore, and they start to have a dynamic that's more similar to the bickering dynamic her parents have (the big difference is now we can see they both care about each other, its not just one sided), but then we see Yvain, who married Demetra, and who, according to her, speaks down to her a lot? Now again, yes we know he's also dumb, but again, he's not that dumb??
So anyway, the point of this whole thing is, I feel like we see them both behaving like this because they grew up thinking it was okay, and I wonder how different things would have been if they hadn't.
