The sheer amount and variety of the stuff is testimony to the diversity of the lesbian experience and the vitality of lesbian communities"

Just goes to show how timeless the bi witticism of Assume Nothing! really is. I highly recommend just perusing through the archives or even the current isues there's loads of interesting history

Im really fascinated by the sheer diversity of the Na'vi as a species. The Metkayina and Omatikaya have such different phenotypes its cool how their genetics allot such drastic variation in phenotypical expression beyond skin pigmentation, facial features, and proportion like humans are limited to.

From what we can see so far, the Metcayina Na'vi have specialized limbs and tails adapted for water life and even seem naturally acclimated to holding their breaths for extended periods for swimming and diving. Their eyes are larger & their underbellies lack stripes or body markings to blend into lighting below and above the surface.The Omatikaya Na'vi have prehensile tails and specialized toes for balancing on limbs and vines, as well as climbing.

We're not certain how variation in genotype is expressed in the Na'vi, and how internal differences express different advantages or disadvantages (similar to how humans have genetic differences that make certain climates more or less tolerable, certain sugars more or less digestable, etc).

I want to make clear that im not using their clan names as species or sub species names or something. So far we only have "Na'vi" as the common name to refer to the "people" of the Pandora; their current species name, according to the Activist Survival Guide, is Homo Pandorus (fitting lol). But we dont have an official, comprehensive taxonomy of Pandoran life, and dont know how well the RDA's research departments have kept up with that data to have affected classifications by contacts of different biomes and "people" too (was Hell's Gate the only base on Pandora, or was the jungle the only location the RDA established their bases? The Na'vi are found on all Pandorian continents according to the Guide, and i feel like this info could have only been realized by more base research or possibly even oral history/contacts between clans, including second hand acknowledgement). This is a cool video that delves into the speculative biology of life on Pandora and might shed some light about these questions.

Until more lore is presented in canon, we wont know how the morphology of the Metcayina Na'vi relates to the Omaticaya Na'vi biologically beyond assuming the broad classification of Homo pandorus to be accurate at least from the last movie.

Its most likely the Metkayina will be of the same species for the story's sake, tho it could be possible they arent (which could be rlly interesting commentary on how the science of evolution influences cultural & political ideas and how its limitations–including our earth and carbon-based understanding of life itself–affect our perceptions. At least thats my thinking). Its possible theres an explaination of speciation that explicitly clarifies how the Na'vi have diverse phenotype that allows drastic variation without allopatric speciation. Maybe that might be too complex for the intentions of the film but it would be a storytelling and world building element that would add an interesting layer of complexity, particularly for making sense of the genetic enigmas of memory and cosciousness transfers of the RECOM avatars and avatar clones in general, and interbreeding between native Na'vi and avatar clones and how species or even consciousness defines personhood.

well, arent you detached from reality. i dont mean in a delusional sense, i mean you purposefully distance yourself from everything and everyone. you have people you're close to, of course, but they're always kept at arms length. you're incredibly driven though, achieving your goals is extremely important to you. you feel trapped in the life you have now, it's not enough for you. you need more, always more. you are so hungry, and if you’re not careful, you’ll only end up consuming yourself.

The Ruler

you probably grew up in an environment where everything was policed, you had almost no control over your own life. now, you need to be in constant control, lest those feelings of helplessness return. however, the ruler is the most easily corrupted of the archetypes, remember that. you might find yourself not only wanting control over your own life, but the lives of others. that in itself is not a bad thing, so long as you’re benevolent and kind, but it’s easy to be tipped a bit too far into your desires. in the same vein, don’t shoulder all of your responsibility alone. while it is ultimately their decision to make, a ruler also has a circle of advisors around them.

this doesn't necessarily mean you're childish or naive! i think you're more of a hopeful person, maybe even a bit of an idealist. you might be the one who always looks for a silver lining, or tries their best to comfort and cheer other people up when they feel like shit. dont get stuck in a happy personality though, you're allowed to feel other things besides constant cheerfulness.

second draft self

i wonder if shes ever thought like this at all, never having written a diary or a letter to herself or a poem, no internal monologue, a lack of retention and attention payed, no desire to learn, the lack of a critical thinking when it comes to literally any form of art, the persistent assumption that uneducated you is right, and not that you simply lack the knowledge. it seems all to point to such an astronomical lack of self reflection. it is so a to b, so animalistic, so raw and yet so indoctrinated; no second draft self in sight.

scorpio sun, scorpio rising, scorpio mercury. all i am is self transformation, over and over again i fall in on myself, i recycle and reemerge endlessly, laminated between layers of life and death, from life until death. how does the carcass of a simple woman birth the eternal chrysalis of me. this is not a mythical degree of vanity so much as a truth she has admitted, she conceded to being a thoughtless unreflective hamster, a cog in the machine, an acting and reacting being with little space?desire?need?interest?capability? for internal reflection. i am so far down a line of drafts these days that i would be unrecognisable to myself a few years ago if it werent for the distinctive material, rearranged to such distortion. there is very little i could not tell you about the people round me, their nature and their thoughts, i could predict so accurately their response to stimulus in any given surrounding. it is the gift god returns you for paying attention, but it does require a degree of understanding of human nature and the conscious, something you can only develop from the only first hand, direct route you have to the mind; yourself. to ask why is to understand yourself, the mind, and then others. from which most anything becomes easy. art, history, technology, instructions and interface; anything with human input and design unravels before you and with practice, the reverse engineering becomes as almost indistinguishably as immediate as one's own intuition. if only people really fucking listened, really watched ad engaged their fucking brains they would reach such a plane of existence that is fundamental to the revered geniuses of history, da vinci and pythagorus or van gogh or shakespeare or frida kahlo. you must never stop pushing for kowledge and learning and understanding, i dont know why people do. when most people find learning hard or undenjoyable it is because of this lack of understading, the why to bridge the gap that makes it all fall into place. to memorise when and where and what is so difficult, so disjointed and arbitrary it is difficult and drill-like, i would also find it virtually impossible - it is the weakness of traditional school systems to teach memorisation and not cultivate understanding. perhaps it is because it would produce too many free thinkers or pioneers or individuals who refuse to engage in such thoughtless cog-like nine to fives which would create waves to disrupt those in power - a few innovators generates millions, a million innovators breeds freedom. the first point of failure begins with open listening, people are hearing the words but so few people are open to listening to what there is desire to say without assuming, or glazing over it or inflicting your preconceptions, it is HARD to deconstruct and listen properly, it is tiring to engage consistently and i find it hard to detach my own thoughts ad contexts but it is something you must do, the reward is great and the only thing that gives life any meaning is ones self and others, if you want to be heard and known you must cultivate such a space for others. it is a sincere skill, it cannot be mimicked or taught, it must be sprung from a self realisation and a true desire to understand. the reward for such efforts, openness, honestly, vulnerability, are countlessly fruitful.

but yeah whatever. my mother wouldn't fucking get it. she could read all of this, everything i've ever written and still not understand. the lens she wears is so thick that she cannot see past her own assumption, her own distortion through which to see the world cultivated in response to her experience, it has grown greater and greater with time, slowly enough that she does not notice the the way she once saw was so different. i assume. i do not know if she has ever been any different. i have, on a few occasions, become so utterly and desperately vulnerable in front of her in various vulgar displays of discontent. i have, in spite of my own overwhelmedness, i always made room for a preface, a desperate string of sobbed pleas, please listen to me really, properly, and don't get angry because i'm not trying to be mean or upset you i'm just trying to explain. she agrees, and i begin, and immediately i am interrupted by anger from deaf ears, a volatile reaction from a mother who's child is begging to be seen. it never works. the older i get the more i lose hope, and the greater the weight of the grief becomes; i cry for the death of my mother, a woman who's never existed.

i feel that if she ever asked i would pour my heart out, and if she ever listened i would unlock a whole new world for her and things would never be the same. she would become threefold as wise and a little more happy. if she knew how clever i was... i don't know. she thinks i am logical and good at maths, that i am an academic with a wizards memory. i am okay in such departments, but it is not where i excel, not where i live as truly, impressively brilliant. i am a genius in a language she doesn't know exists, and doesn't care to understand. i love smart people, i love to surround myself with people far superior to me in so many different fields; business minds and maths geniuses, linguists, artists, all rounders and hard workers, for me to be the least intelligent and informed person in a room is a delight, to be taught but sincere individuals who possess a joy for sharing. its like being inside the internet or a book, i feel the magic of knowledge in the air, experts sweat intelligence. and these people, who outshine me by leaps and bounds, whom i respect most, always seem to uniquely enjoy my company.

for a long time, young and unfamiliar with the real world outside my immediate life, it was a pattern i did not pick up on, understanding outside of experience is difficult within a limited observational window restricted by both age and lifestyle, and my own naivety and unwillingness to truly hear feedback i was regularly given. but the closer i get to the real world, the more i understand that smart people like me because i reflect such a childlike intrigue and vulnerability delivered through a critical, perceptive eye and exacting tongue.

still this does surprise me, for my scathing bitterness is something i would hate if i met myself, i would consider her cruel to her closest supporters, careless with their feelings, unforgivabely biting. this is not entirely the case, i say it with no malice and they dont take it that way either, they understand it to be how i love, and if they resent it they tolerate it for the confidence they find within me. but alas it little matters for i know how it would consumee if i was the subject of such remarks. no degree of empathy or mutual understanding for my clone would permit me to overcome the jokes at the expense of those who surround her. indeed it is something i do abhor in myself, like a parasite who lives in my mouth and strikes sarcasm into everything i speak. but to other it would be to detatch myself from responsibility, such mocking is my fault and my doing, the marrow of my bones. should you not see me for years, upon return perhaps the only point of recognition would be the cruel skin my words wear, no matter how they are intentioned, it seems the lens survives every redraft inevitabely. i wonder if perhaps that renders me the parasite, simply boarding a thesean ship that i build and rebuild around my rotten core.

(bro im just gonna copy and paste whatever i wrote like three months ago here and not proofread it soooo yeah thats for context)

havent drawn these two in a hot minute, so here they areeee for those who want to know but dont, these are my dudes i created a while back named craig and josh (craig on the left, josh the right). i made this whole story where josh worked as an assistant at a news place or sumth like that and he wanted to become an actual writer (cause it was his dream since middle school) but he was stuck at the assistant role and this frustrated him greatly but anyways one day his siblings are like "hey dude lets go camping to get your mind off your failing career" and he's like "rude way to put it but whatever" but get this okay he doesn't even want to go camping with his family, he just wants to run off and try to find a big story somewhere in the woods to pitch and hopefully be promoted because of it (which prolly isn't accurate to how that actually works, I'd have to do actual research but thats kind of the gist of it). anyways he runs off claiming to be "looking for firewood" which was a lie, cause his only intentions were to find some funky fresh information on some hot gossip (he would word it differently, but same thing) and eventually he gives up, realizing that this whole idea was kind of stupid like what was he going to find alone in the middle of the woods late at night with no one else by his side so he was alone and vunerable? he was a smart man, clearly. okay but as he gets ready to head back to camp he follows a yellow glow assuming its their fire they had set up, but once he gets there he is shocked not to find a fire, but instead a levitating young man staring at a tree as if it were the most interesting thing on earth. josh audibly gasps, causing the ghostly boy to shift his head to give him a quick glance, then returning his gaze back at the tree as if he saw nothing and no one there. then josh speak to him, which peaks the ghosts interest once more, though this time he looks a lot more suprised. he fully turns to josh, eyes wide, and utters, "you can see me?" so then josh and craig are talking and josh is trying to comprehend that there is an actual ghost just in front of him and craig is freaking out with excitment that someone can finally see him and can hear and talk to him. eventually josh gets craig to chill out and asks him what his deal is and why he is a ghost and just so hyped about josh being able to communicate with him. craig explains his backstory, how he had died so long ago (dont know when yet, i'll figure it out soon tho) but his soul never was able to escape the earth, so he was stuck there with no way out. now he just kind of roams around the planet, seeing history play out in front of him and looking for any kind of entertainment to remain somewhat mentally sane. josh is now seeing the potential of craig's existance for helping him get that sweet buttery promotion he's dreamed of for so long. if he tells people about craig and has craig feed him information about the world and history itself that are otherwise unknown, he'll surley manage to gain the attention of many, kickstarting his future career as a writer and possible reporter. only problem is that josh is the only person who can see craig and the chances of anyone else actually believeing in his existance are incredibly slim, almost zero. hopeless, josh is like "sorry craig, u might actually be useless to me" and craig is like "):" and then josh like kicks a leaf or something and then craig is like "wait a minute if you can see me then maybe you can help me and then i can help you and we can make a sort of deal you know what i mean you know what i mean" and josh is like "???" and craig is like "if you can bring me back to the grounded world, or back to life or sumth, then people will be able to see me and believe me and my story rrriiiiggghhhttt???? idk bout you but that could make a greeeaaaaattt story" and josh is like "where are you even going with this" and craig is like "all you have to do is bring me back to life, and you'll get ur promotion and i'll get my life : D it's literally the perfect plan" now at first josh is like "yeah no thats not going to happen, literally impossible, i failed all my science classes i will not be able to bring you back" but as he's thinkin more about it he realizes that he really has no other choice, cause like he can't just leave the ghost here, he has to do something with it. so hesitantly, he agrees to the deal on the condition that craig doesn't get his hopes up too much for theres no certainty of josh successfully bringing him back. and so they have a deal set where josh will do everything in his power to somehow bring craig back to life, and in exchange craig will offer him his stories, his wisdom, and all he knows to get josh the scoop he needs to make it big. thats kind of the whole start of the story, and from there i have some ideas of where it goes, but otherwise its mostly just a work in progress. i have some ideas for how it may conclude, but its still verrry rough, though id love to write it all someday soon. buuuutu yeah thats all for todays probablys. have a lovely lovely day friends <33

you were probably made painfully aware of the reality of the world at an early age. this might have left you a bit jaded, but it mostly has made you angry. why do things have to be this way? is there really no way to change things, or are people just afraid to do so? you’re very stubborn and determined, sometimes too stubborn for your own good. don’t forget that your way isn’t the only way, be open to discussion. your heart’s in the right place though, and i admire your spirit. the world always needs more people like you, that’s how the course of history keeps on rolling. remember, even small changes can do so much for the lives of others.

Just became obsessed with new imagery for a set of characters in my story (same vein of the demon masquerading as human bit) AND I can’t get rid of it. Let me preface them both because I’m only gonna talk about him. (i lied this turned into a spiel of text that takes forever to truck through-don’t read it)

They both are sort of...battle worn hardened characters (one from war and another from wildly different survival circumstances) and are more or less trying to survive and have some semblance of living a calm life. Its interesting because how they come to even interact with each other in the first place is through the happenstance of battles, and depending on whose side was there or not, they would be at odds with each other. In the beginning there was jsut straight up stay away from me or i’ll have to kill you vibes.

She has them more than him since he was mostly fighting on orders but wasn’t really into the war like that (he’s part of something of a noble/important family known for it’s fighters so for the sake of profit and family, he’s made to be apart of it) hers is just the straight up visceral survival as in, I will maim you to the point where you are no longer a threat, and if you are still alive by then you’d better have learned you lesson and leave me alone. So there’s actually good gap of about 20years? before they even meet each other? and by then theres some sort of history and rumors set in place.

No one really knows who she is, only the fact that there’s this like absolutely massive bounty put out on her by this slightly prodigious human family. Like first of all other human being were the ones going after her thinking they would make easy money. BUt they really don’t know they aren’t being told the whole story, because in the attempts to capture her, so much blood. So much absolute fighting destruction on her part, that she is literally broken bones and bleeding and visibly haggard  but she just won’t stop fighting back.

She wll literally get herself killed before giving up so they back out a lot with their wounds. Overtime people lose track of who exactly she is, just the facts of what she looks like and her abilities, to the point were people think it’s someone else entirely. This sort of mythical monster that has a form of a human springs up and spreads, the bounty is still out there if you are brave enought to try for it. So the long story short bit- she’s gotten sued to being on edge and hiding. Its easier when most people assume that the real form of her is a dark armoured up man monster creature.

How he ends up showing up is that after these 20 years, some demons are more focused on treasure hunting than bounties though some have tried their hand at it. But at this point they don’t actually know how to find that particular bounty target and leave it. They are more interested in finding treasures or you know espionages or the obvious colluding with enemies so that they can have  astrong foothold in their own communities. You know the evil version of people jsut using each other to get a foot hold in life.

commonly in this world, what demons, fae, humans and other non human alike treasure, are these rare bits of energies and creatures that show up in the world. What is the term again (i dont remember but it’s illegal animal...farming...black market whatever) its illegal and they are killing and feasting off these rare creatures because of the various materials people can use from them. Whether it be their knowledge or actual rare organs and the like. Sometimes as well it’s actually just rare items from different species and cultures that have a lot of magical essence attached to them. there’s part groups that come together to find and collect these items for their own use, other that search for them to sell on the black market, others who wish to return them to their original owners, and so on and forth. There’s a lot of bank to be made with studying them as well.

he’s on one side that simply seeks to collect certain items for their magical essence, it’s like a rare delicacy that empowers demons innate abilities. It’s easier to steal and kill competitors for it than buying it on the black market for so long.

She actually finds them to study them for a while before giving them back to their original owners if she can. Bringing the lost back to their homes. But her guise makes her look like another treasure hunter. She also have something of a leg up on them as her abilities she’s honed over the years has acutally made her very adept at finding these items (She is able to common with ones commonly reffered to as Lesser Fae- they are considered not as grand or powerful as Grander Fae, but this evened out by the fact that they are more abundant in the world and can easily travese different realms. They aren’t as stingy when it comes to talking with other species, cautious but very friendly and trustings towards the ones they come to bond with, also word travels faster through the fae vines)

starting off in groups (supposedly) aiming towards working together to find these rare artifacts (humans and demons and tasked with working together so you know one doesn’t have more power than the other) it eventually dwindles down to a few groups actually getting far enough to find the artifacts but getting lost in the wake that takes to capture it.

He almost gets it, but through happenstance, she ends up actually being able to secure the artifcct properly as its common for these things to have wild energy, and gets away with it. It’s a very minor scuffle in my mind, but it does end witha bit of bruising and a little blood. What makes the situation interesting though is that she actively aided him at some point in the hunt and left him without causing any more harm. And thats the thing that intrigues him.

It doesn’t get his attention much until different times later on when they keep coming acrosseach other in different scenrios in passing. Some where there is battle involved and others where they are literally just casually trying to be. But they respect each other’s space more as 2 sort of predators that know the dangers of each other. So its even more awkward when the only time they really interact with each other is when there is fighting involved.

Its interesting because at some point higher ups and family are both getting irritated with this interferance with the human hunters and are seeking a way of udnermining them. SO they stage a fake discovery to trap/ delay opponenets and steal some of their spoils.

He doesn’t approve of this plan/ he along with a good few of his friends have some morals about them / even if they arent afraid of killing. And he finds that as long as he just scares the groups away it’s mroe efficient than killing him. It doesn’t even cross his mind killing them until a few of them decide to loot some of the spoils and keep them for themselves outside of the higher ups circle without reporting to them.

So in doing so, they make a silent coup of killing within this secluded section and hunt down the bigger hunts, planning on systematically hunting them to hide their deeds. Some then come across her and despite the fact that she doesn’t carry much in terms of treasure (she is actually very particular about the hunts she enters and is few and far between) but the fact that she managed to secure some high level artificats is something that compells some of the group to hunt her and try to get her to bring them.

The intercept her with this intention and much  like a group of hagglers, they try to frighten her into giving the items. She says she doesn’t have them anymore and isnt really swayed by their fear tactics- so they focus on trying to take something she keeps on her. She calmly reiterates that she doesn’t have anything to give and wouldn’t give them anything anyway,  and if they persist her she tells them in no uncerain terms she will fight back.

They persist and so she fights back, and through the scuffle she actually wields a long dagger. It instantly catches their attention because of the magical essences it gives off is not only ominous but powerful. They offer to leave her alone in exchange for the blade and when she declines they threaten that they’ll just take it by force.

so far this is all still very loose and based on watching the ep once but i wanted to write my initial thoughts on the themes in the ep

keys & being unable to open doors: in dream psychology & literature homes are the visual representation of the inward self, to be unable to get into his house to me means beard is having a hard time coming to terms with himself and what he wants—he keeps wandering from his core ideals (& towards jane i might add) & other people have to show him the way back, have to give him his keys and say “coach, i’m offering you your life back, will you take it?”  inability to open doors also often part of nightmares & feeling a lack of control in waking life

identity in two parts; part one—changing clothes & changing lives: the episode starts with beard and the boys getting changed to go toward better, more exciting & fun life. part of beard’s original identity is stripped away from him forcefully (his richmond pants) while other parts are held onto specifically. at one point i was wondering whether we were being taken through beard’s history throughout his life, back to when he was a raucous youngster wearing flares and dating oxford professors and getting chased away, but i def dont think thats true. i will say though that beard picks a cap out of the box (or was he already wearing it ??? i dont remember but i dont Think so ??) which is the same model as the one jane gives him at the end of the episode in which higgins criticises jane’s controlling nature (moon? is she the moon, maybe?) and once again feels like beard is trying to change himself to run away from something which exists within the original version of himself, towards jane who offers escape and love (albeit twisted, but from beard’s pov she offers the opportunity for love). what else is interesting here is the way the boys’ path ends up diverging from beard’s—they get to nelson road and throw off the assumed identity of the evening which never truly fit them (they couldn’t even keep up the ruse in the club for long) returning to who they are as we know them, richmond fans with little influence over the plot. beard, on the other hand, ends the episode while still wearing the flares thrust upon him, the identity so far removed from his own

part two—his name: let’s get into fairytales for a second. what the hell is up with beard’s first name. jane calls him beard. ted calls him beard. why does this man keep his true identity so close to his chest ? why is he scared that if he reveals his name it will be taken and twisted and used to force him into doing things he doesn’t want? i believe ted knows beard’s name but doesn’t use it out of (an incorrectly placed) respect towards his friend, i do not believe beard has ever told jane his name. i don’t think she’s asked, either, but that’s not part of the point. out of all the characters in the show beard really does come across as the most fairytale trickster of all, he has no name, he’s there and gone in the blink of an eye (see: when he calls nate out) he’s always hunting for knowledge and he frankly knows everything. why is he so mythologised ? who is coach beard, really? and why is he so afraid of himself?

This will be my only warning, this shit is really long.

I promised this to @ivi-prism 2 weeks ago (hi, i am Svetla) but university said no and then i feel my notes were incomplete so i have to do more research.

So let's talk about anarchism and capitalism. As a future political scientist, really bugs me how the fandom and some content creators (im looking at you techno) misinterpret both theories.

Yeah this will be a overanalysis about the political, social and economic system of two minecraft servers. Why? Cause i like analysis things like this and finally i can solved what is the system of hermitcraft and thats make me happy.

Things to consider:

First im not native english speaker and im lazy so im not often write or talk in english so my typos can make Doc really proud.

Second i don't watch Dsmp i only know things about the server by the animatics, the constant information wich pop up here on tumblr, the crossover fanfics and the tiny vods that youtube insist play when i have activate automatic reproduction.

Third i tried to simplified this much as i can because this analysis i maded talking with my friends (also political scientists) and a former professor, so it got quite technical while i was writing it.

And finally don't take this seriously, I'm not trying to insult anyone, I only started this because the hermitfandom started saying that hermitcraft was capitalist and then everyone started comparing the Dsmp with hermitcraft saying anarchism vs capitalism, that's why the dsmp entered into this analysis.

Guys, seriously chaos isn't anarchism and "sucefully economic" isn't capitalism, even paid with "money" (diamonds in this case) isnt necessary capitalism.

First, mini glossary:

I understand a server like a Society/State (country) with Mr Weber definition. In really vague words a State is anyone that has a territory and has legal control of violence (the laws, no the abuse of authority).

I understand the private property as the hermits bases and/or shops (i suppose only base in dsmp? Idk)

I understand the mass production as the farms and resources.

Capitalism is a economic, politic and social theory, wich it considers private property essential and tends to monopolize the resources 'cause this it also considered private property.

Anarchy means "without government" it has its origin in the Ancient Greece. And Anarchism theory is just a society free from any political authority, but respecting the liberties of the others.

A Failed State is which one lose control of the legal violence, and can't provide the peace, essential human rights and the basics for a normal lifestyle to its people.

I think thats all the bored shit (i hope so). Now the interesting shit.

Why hermitcraft isnt capitalist?

Short answer, their idea of private property is not the same as capitalism has.

Long answer, even if they have their own stuff, they had a really strong sense of community and dont really care if someone take things from them.

We can see this in the beginning of season when Iskall take some mini blocks from Etho and he didn't really care (yeah, iskall "paid" him, but later i will explain this) or the multiple times Grian "borrow" things from Iskall and Mumbo in season 6 or Scar in season 7, the team ZIT constantly take things from each other and i can go on and on with examples, but the point here is this couldn't happen if they had a capitalist society because this would break the "private" part of private property and mass production.

Basically their friendship made so strong their sense of community that they are basically inmune to capitalism, Uncle Marx would be proud of them (not really, but would be funny). So they are communist? Nope, communist don't believe in private property and the hermits does.

But you just said-? I said they dont has the SAME idea of private property as capitalism does. They still have their bases, farms and shops, but for them their private property isnt sacred like in a capitalism system would be.

They're respect each other things because they appreciated the effort and values the time the person puts on their buildings and not only because doesn't belongs to them (and obviously cause theyre frends, but shush, this is a overanalysis, the obvious things doesn't have place here) i mean even for the shenanigans they are really polite and try to cause the least damage possible not because is not of them but because they valued the person.

Basically the famous honor code of hermitcraft.

What about the economic system and the shopping district?

Lets talk about the elephant in the room.

If Hermitcraft isnt a capitalist system, why they have a economic system based in diamonds?

Well, despite the exchange based in money for resources or services is a principal characteristic of capitalism, it isnt exclusive of that theory.

The money is a social consensus, cause barter has becomes obsolete and gold isnt cheap or infinite to use as payment. And basically, this is why we use money on this days (if you want to know the history of money ask to your trusted historian or Wikipedia).

What does this remind us? Yep, diamonds and iou's are a consensus too. When the 1.16 came out some hermits tried to change to netherite as payment and didn't suit, so they ignored it and continued with their current payment system.

And as much as Mr Smith likes to say that this is how the free market (and his stupid invisible hand) works, capitalism needs the monopoly of resources and people who works to pay for those resources.

But in Hermitcraft nobody really controlled the resources, anyone can go and collect their materials or made a farm. They just decided don't do it and go and buy it, because they save the time to go and collect for themselves, in other words they paid for the time.

Various hermits say they saved so much time go and buy the materials instead to collect themself or trade with the villagers (cause theyre the worst and all of us know it) thats why the barge and lookie lookie at my bookie are so profitable.

The shopping district it wasn't a thing before season 4, i dont really sure how it worked before, because i started watch in season six and sadly i have a boring adult life to saw the old seasons, but i assume it works in the same way that the trades the hermits does between them to accord a discount or a collab, and speak directly with the interested hermit or directly take it and pays what's considered it was fair, like iskall did with etho.

Like i said all what's happen in hermitcraft is a consensus, even the shopping district.

So yeah, that isnt a thing that would happen in a capitalism system, probably you would be dead, because "how are you dare to entered to my property", or in the jail, "because thats not yours".

So, what is hermitcraft?

For the surprise from much of you, Hermitcraft has an anarchist system.

What?! But their server is so peaceful, they don't steal from each other, they doesn't griefing, hows that possible?!

Well, the anarchism isn't really a violent political theory, at least in its beginning, actually anarchism is one of the most peaceful theories i studied, thats why i dont really thing it will worked in our society, but work in a server of 24 friends. Its too idealist.

I don't really study all of the thoughts corrents of anarchism because they are a lot. But the one we are interested is one of original thought corrent, The Mutualism, this in contrast with their cousin Communism doesn't believes the private property was something bad and considered like one of the rights from the individual, but different as capitalism because like i said before it wasn't sacred and communal things will exist to help others to start or recover.

Proudhon, one of it intellectuals, considered not paid for the work of the other it was a form to violate their liberties and feel horrofied with Marx when he said we have to abolish the private property.

The mutualists believes that each person should possess a means of production, either individually or collectively, and the products obtained would be trade in the market for the amount equivalent of their work.

This sound familiar, isnt it? Hermitcraft works in this way.

The thing with anarchism is they don't believes in a government over the people. And the hermits doesn't have one, yeah there's Scar being the mayor, but he isnt have a power over the rest and only is in charge of the "cowmercial district" even aquatown isn't part of his jurisdiction, his function is more of organization, like when we put a friend in charge to organizing part of a roadtrip.

It's the same with Xisuma figure, we all put him in a position of the admin of hermitcraft, but the truth is he isnt the only one with admin commands (but apparently some or all of them losed their admin status, at least in one of the last tango's streams, he hasnt it anymore) and various hermits said that he is more like an ambassador of them in the legal things of the server.

The hermits take all of they decisions in group and in the majority of things all of them needs to be agreed with the decision or they simple doesn't do it. And this is a characteristic of the mutualism because for them anyone are over the other.

And if you aren't already bored at this point and you put attention to what i wrote of the concept of private property in the mutualism, you would see it is practically the way hermitcraft works. They make their bases and farms, recolect resources and sell what they don't will use, buy mostly to save time and paid for the price what they considered fair. Yeah i know sometimes they do some farm specifically for one shop, but this is more "yeah, this is my thing" (Tango and Iron; Ren and wood) or a division of activities "if you do that, i do this".

The perfect utopia.

What about the Dsmp?

So what about the Dsmp, i entered here because i want to read of them and the only thing i read was about hermitcraft.

Well, the Dsmp only entered in the equation because much of you said they were an anarchist server, but i see it more like a "failed state" and when i was talked with an exprofessor he agreed with me.

I know the term of failed state is controversial and is almost obsolete, but is the best way to describe the server and stop said it is anarchist.

So why failed state and not an anarchist state? Because they have a government (or apparently multiples) a failed one, but is there, if it were an anarchist server wouldn't have one.

Usually the failed states are known for being violent and volatile places in which ones their governments can't provides the basics to their people to live, normally are places with ethnics conflicts, civil wars, authoritarian governments or states in wars. The most common examples are Haití, Somalia or Syria.

And i am sure you can see the similarities with the Dsmp, so yeah, theyre chaotic but not anarchist.

The wars ruined the stability from the server, have a multiple sides and a megalomaniac for admin, but the goverment still there and they are fighting for the power wich wouldn't happen if the server were anarchist because anarchism don't believe the power should be possess for someone.

The server simply is failed state wich struggles under a violent fight for power.

I wanted to put my new thoughts here just in case someone else is in my situation. I am referring to how being on the spectrum manifest through being an INFP. In some ways, I’m atypical of both. It took a long for me to diagnosed as being on the spectrum. I guess it is more mild for me (not sure how else to say it), but I suspect some of it might come from being an INFP. The archetype of someone on the spectrum seems to be an INTP with underdeveloped Ne. I have strong Ne imo, although I won’t make that argument here.

I can’t speak for other intuitives in this position, but I’m very good at metaphors or any other kind of figurative language. It took me a long time to realize I was INFP in part because I assumed I have dominant intuition. That being said, it wouldn’t be entirely accurate to say I don’t ever take things literally. I do quite frequently. If someone gives me instructions I get anxious if I don’t do it exactly as told. If told there is wiggle room I can handle it, but I won’t assume there is. I may not accomplish those exact instructions (i dont often), but until Im reassured I’ll worry that I’ll be yelled, fired, or something along those lines.

I don’t show my emotions unless really upset. I want to connect with people, but I don’t know how. I had to learn to message my own family during college, and I’m utterly baffled when people message me if i did not message them first.

I probably share my interest more than some INFPs because I can struggle to communicate/connect if we are not talking about one of my obsessions. I even struggle with family with this. I have noticed that I sometimes will bring these interest even if it is retrospectively bad timing. I was fascinated to hear fans of true crime podcast worry about people learning they are listening to podcast about murder. I just tell people, and have to remind myself not to go into detail.

Im more sensitive than an average ENFP though, let alone an intp. My feelings do guide most of actions, even if i dont always consider them feelings in the moment. I can be hard on myself ethically, and I struggle with feeling like a bad person. I also care a lot about other people’s feelings, although that go away if I’m in a certain mood. I care more though actions than words anyways, which I think is typical for Fi-Te.

I often get caught up quoting movie or book parts as exactly as possible. I repeat this over and over. If I get focused on a song, I will quietly sing the lines exactly. If someone messes me up (even without realizing or by not actively doing anything), I repeat the whole thing. I also get uncharacteristically upset. Yes, I know you don’t know that I’m reciting an entire John Mulaney Joke in my head word for word, but how dare you look at me while passing me in the street and distract me.

I use to just toss that up to possible Si, but this is how I’ve been my whole life. Meanwhile, I do see Si development in that last couple of years (I’m 25). For example, I’ve strong interest in my family history and wanting to structure myself in that.

I fidget a lot. I will spend hours pacing around my room almost in circles. If I’m thinking at all I tend to do that. If I’m sitting down, I’ll start messing with my hair or something.

I have always been very picky when it comes to sensory areas and that has only gotten worst over the years. I’m not quite sure how to separate that from Tert Si though.

Anyways, I know this was long but hopefully someone finds it interesting.

Part 2

With all this in mind Elriel to me just seems so clear.

The enemy is Koschei and Vassa is the only one to be directly linked to and affected by him so she will be the one to defeat him, plan and give us insight from the inside because she is the one who is captive. She has a personal interest in defeating him and that victory and moment is rightfully hers to own.

She will get a book. Her being a firebird means nothing? why would people assume she won't have a conscious while in that form when Rhys, Tamlin and Helion do?  Why do people believe that a story cant be developed and moved along as a firebird? Has any one ever read a werewolf book? Im soooo confused. I mean why is that a end all? Even as a firebird she can see and reveal so much, and as a person even more.

The main original characters that have a direct link to Feyre from the very beginning before Hybern, Amarantha, and ACOWAR are Nesta, Elain and Lucien. Those are the characters that make the most sense to have their own book. Not Tamlin who is of no importance to Feyre anymore. Who is of importance and who where her first family Lucien basically becoming her first brother. She is always concerned for these people. If you take a look at all of Feyre’s POV in ACOFAS its always showcasing her concern or confusion for  Her sisters, Lucien and even Mor (possible novella).  These three individuals (N&E&L) are the ones she has an original relationship with and the most history, a shaky relationship that has room to be improved on. These are the wildcards, the ones who have wronged her in some way, the ones who’s stories NEED to be told. Three different people three different stories.

If you also take a look at Rhys’ POV in order, you realize he talks to or refers to 5 people usually:

Cassian, Azriel, Mor, Tamlin & Lucien

Each of these first 5 POV also directly touches on what issues exactly are pertaining to them or could be pertaining to them if that had their own book OR how they may contribute to the whole over arching plot.

If we conclude everything from those first 5 chapters ( I'm not including the rest because its too much, and they also include these 5 characters regardless) of importance this is what we have and what each book may touch on.

1st POV: involves

-Cassian - Illyrian dissent, inequality, Nesta, queen Braiylln, training female Illyrians,

-Cassian’s role

2nd POV: involves

-Azriel-shadows/powers strength, Az’s past, confusion on shadowsinger abilities, Illyrian dissent/hate, Human queens, Hyberns people, Human lands, Vassa’s situation,

-Az’z emotions (& concealing of emotions) on : Lucien, Elain, Possibly Az’s mom and her whereabouts (Rosehall).

3rd POV:

-Tamlin/Lucien-SC and Tamlin current state and down fall, alliance with Tamlin, peace/future, Lucien’s and Tamlin’s relationship, Anger/Hate/Remorse/Defeat/Hope/Empty, Feyre

-Feyre-Tamlin, Rhys’ actions and remorse

-Jeweler(Neve)-no jewels for Feyre, Neve’s background

4th POV:

-Velaris estates along the Sidra before and after hybern,

-Mor: Rhys and mor’s relationship currently, Kier/Eris/CoN

-The CoN people occupied the Velaris estates (they left Hewn City before the division of the NC)

-Kiers upcoming visit to Velaris in Spring (the hewn city’s containment and curiosity)

-Mor’s Mother/ desire to leave the NC

-Mor’s Role

Rhys’ 1st POV which included Cassian and Cassian’s following POV/Chapter was a foreshadow to ACOSF completely. Everything touched was basically addressed in ACOSF.  Rhys basically told Mor and Cassian to assume different jobs and roles (to lessen Azriel’s world load) in their chapters which came true in ACOSF.

A bond between Elain and Lucien does not mean they will have a book. If I'm honest they remind me a little of Nesyrn and Chaol who seemed like with time something could blossom between them but in reality just weren't for one another and were better off as friends. All that connects these two is an unwanted bond, a person they both have wronged yet care about (Feyre) and an incident that resulted in Elain’s trauma. Everyone thought Elain who is literally everything to Nesta, who Nesta would have sacrificed everything for, would be more involved, yet she wasn't even present in the majority of Nesta’s book, at least not as present as we thought she would be. But she was mentioned throughout ACOSF nearly in every chapter because Elain does and has impacted Nesta’s life completely.This is something I expect to happen for Elain’s book as well. Yes Lucien will appear but perhaps the purpose of his appearance would be to get closure and fill in questions left unanswered. If ACOTAR 5 is an Elriel book and not ACOTAR 6 then her book will also serve to set up for his book with Vassa.

Feyre’s relationship with the IC is fine and any issues can be resolved in the books of the others (like for example as Love interests) or in a novella.

Cassian had a POV, the second main role in ACOSF but.. ACOSF was Nesta’s story.

The same can be said for Elriel’s book as well as Vassien’s.

And yes a male can have a book like Chaol did but in my opinion it won't be Az with Gwyn being the second main POV. It will be Lucien with Vassa who has far more ties to the IC and to the over arching plot. Vassa at least has met Feyre the main character of the whole ACOTAR world.

Hypothetically speaking lets say Az does get a book and ends up with Gwyn and the plot is about the Illyrian camp. Their story would most likely be written as a novella if anything not an actual book, there is not many ties that Gwyn has so far to the whole plot at least not yet. But getting a novella still wouldn't make sense when we have characters, who are not only closer to the plot but also provide an opportunity to get info/support to win this war, like Mor who is spending time in Vallahan, and Tamlin who’s literal court is not only in shambles but unfortunately detrimental to the success of attaining peace.

I do think Gwyn is more important to this plot then most give her credit for but I dont believe that necessarily means shes due a book or a main POV especially over Vassa. And Emerie.

Vassa who has direct link to koschei the main issue, point and villain of the plot and Emerie who has a direct link to Illyria and its backward ways in everything most importantly on its stance of women and their roles.

SJM Set Elriel to be endgame because it just makes the most sense. Not only because of their connection, moments and relationship thus far but because that's what makes the most sense with this plot. There’s no spinoff in the works.

There’s no reason for Gwyn or ANYONE for that matter to be the one to defeat koschei over Vassa, no reason to have the hugest wedge between Elucien while building a bridge for Elriel, no reason to build and hint for Mor’s leave and put emphasis on Tamlin & the SC’s dire situation.

Has anyone considered if Lucien wants to even be HL ?

Lucien’s future as a highlord comes down to if he even wants to even become the Day Court’s High lord in the first place.

Lucien thought less of humans and was indifferent to them in ACOTAR yet now has found a home and friends among them. ‘

Truthfully the BOE’s work in the same way that the IC does and the Valkyerie.

Actually scratch that the Valkyerie work exactly like the BOE’s.

Yet can anyone imagine any of the Valkyrie leaving their group or be far from each other especially if one of their member’s is their possible love interest ?

They will choose each other and they will create a future where they are all together.

I don’t see lucien who has finally found stability and friends leaving the BOE’s to play high lord at Day court unless Vassa and Jurian decide to leave with him. Which seems unlikely. The only way I see that happening is if vassien truly becomes endgame resulting in Vassa going to Day court. But where does that leave Jurian.

I believe that after the Beron and AC issues are resolved, that Eris will ascend and become HL, Lady Autumn will leave to be FINALLY with Helion to be Lady Day 😍, and Lucien can enjoy his life in the mean time with his found family, stay as an emissary and possibly prepare to be Day’s HL down the line in the future.

a key part of the whole thing is that korra gets way more perspectives and more experiences representative of like, normal people in republic city bc i think something that really defined what a good avatar aang was was how many people he met and got to know and how he didnt exclusively or even mostly associate w cops and bureaucrats and leaders. so mako and bolin. well first of all their backstories are a little more fleshed out and we get a less black and white view of the “triads” (lol) and mako and bolin’s experiences w them. cuz the show very much does the whole thing of like Criminals Bad but dont worry even tho mako and bolin did commit crimes theyre not Criminals!! so just a little more nuance on the alleged gang problem and the poverty in the city

korra does start out very naive w very black and white ideas (ex. “you guys are CRIMINALS?”) i think a really good way of developing her away from her sheltered naive worldview is putting her in whats clearly an incredibly complicated city w an absolute cesspool of political conflicts, ethnic tensions, the lasting effects of colonization, etc and having her try and understand the needs of “the people” in a more complicated way than “i have to save the good guys from the bad guys” ykwim? and i think the absolute WORST way to do that is what they did. bc we get mako and bolin who could contribute genuinely compelling thematic elements to the story: one parent who was indigenous and one who was from a colonizer background in the decades directly following the end of the war, kids who grew up in poverty apparently without any familial support, and who now are trying to be “respectable” members of society (especially mako). and then most of that is pretty much tossed aside bc asami swoops in w her capitalist dad and her piles of money and the class issue is just never talked about again.

so the way i’d fix all that is like. introducing more, like, normal people. some nonbenders, more workers, more immigrants, etc, to show what daily life is actually like for people. because. we dont know! we dont have any context about whether the nonbender oppression thing is actually an issue bc we dont KNOW any nonbenders with normal lives! and spoiler: the nonbender oppression thing is not an issue. bc it doesnt make historical sense. lok is set 7 decades after the end of the war. that is not by ANY stretch of the imagination long enough to heal from the scars of imperialism, ESPECIALLY not when lok is also set in a settler colonial state. like that fact should have featured PROMINENTLY in the political and social setting! realistically, nonbenders arent an oppressed class, earth and water nation people are, regardless of bending status! as in all settler colonial states, the colonizers and their descendants (in this case fire nation people) retain most of the financial and political capital, leaving the colonized and racialized immigrants (in this case earth kingdom and water tribe people respectively) generally impoverished and politically suppressed. like aside from the fact that theres no way toph would have become a cop, it’s so ridiculous to think that an established privileged class of fire nation colonizers would EVER accept being policed by earthbenders!

imagine how much more nuanced and interesting it would be to set republic city as a remnant of a colonial past still fraught w the violence and tension that colonialism and the associated ideology imposed?? instead of some vague ideas of criminal who wear 1920s outfits and harass shopkeepers think about why extralegal and violent groups like that might form! earth kingdom people trying to push for the reclamation of their land? ethnic groups protecting themselves against corrupt cops? ESPECIALLY w the history that the fire nation has of SPECIFICALLY jailing and killing earthbenders and waterbenders BECAUSE of the potential they have to resist against fire nation imperialism like it just makes no sense at all that earthbenders would be privileged on land that, 70 years ago, they would have been imprisoned on! like these various paramilitary groups falling along these different ideological or ethnic lines, fire nation or earth kingdom or water tribe, pro colonization or anti colonization, pro cop or anti cop, pro immigrant or anti immigrant, and then you juxtapose that w depictions of a govt thats failing to keep this all under control w tenzin trying desperately to keep it together despite the fact that it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the state has no interest in taking the conflicts seriously and would rather just point vague fingers at criminals and gangs? and THEN you bring in korra, who has no idea about any of this and thinks that all its gonna take is kicking some ass every couple days, meeting normal people who offer all kinds of different opinions abt the efficacy of the state and the different violent or nonviolent groups and ideologies clashing in the city and the way all this shit is affecting people’s lives and livelihoods and relationships w other citizens??

theres so much good shit there so many incredible things u could do w that like Where do we go after colonial atrocities? is it possible for a settler colonial state to take revolutionary or indigenous ideas seriously? is liberal reform enough in a state like this? and then all the growth that korra could do going from a simple black and white life about mastering the elements to this messy complicated sociopolitical knot of a city? and all the different kinds of characters u could introduce in this city? like why would u EVER think that the most interesting characters that this story has to offer is a police chief a congressman and a billionaire????

but anyways. that’s what the Setting of my idealized version of lok is. as for the actual plot, it is as follows

it starts out similarly as the show. republic city is MUCH more fraught w political tension and violence and korra knows this but assumes that it’s just a matter of throwing a few gang leaders and corrupt officials in jail. tenzin manages to come see them in the south pole and intends give korra real lessons while he’s there but they receive news of a terrorist attack in republic city only a few days after he gets there so his family has to pack up and leave again.

korra stows away to republic city (katara catches her leaving and gives her blessing im a SUCKER for that moment). she does have a hard time adjusting but she doesn’t do what she did in the show lol the first person she meets in the city is this older woman who works on the docks, directs her to a place where she can eat and gives her a roof to sleep under for the first night. so korra’s first exposure to republic city is just about forming connections w ordinary people like ship workers and a family owned restaurant and people practicing their bending in the park. and by the time she reaches air temple island a day or so later her head is spinning w all this new information and the way that nothing is really what she expected it to be. tenzin gives her his own perspective on everything and pema gives her her own perspective on everything and even those two seem wildly different from all the people she’s already met. and so korra starts to get a kind of outline of the conflicts plaguing the city as extremely complex and a lot more influenced by older ideas of fire nation imperialism and earth kingdom land reclamation than she had any idea about.

mako and bolin are still pro benders but not like. super famous like they are in the show. korra’s picked up a couple friends by now and one of them takes her to a gym where a lot of amateur pro bending (is that an oxymoron? lol) matches happen and thats how she meets mako and bolin and joins their pro bending team. Unfortunately for korra, this gym is run by lin beifong, and also has the distinction of being one of the most notoriously anti settler state organizations in the country. lin beifong is NOT a cop but she runs this gym (and the pro bending league) as a way to offer support to local earth kingdom/water tribe youth, teach self defense skills, a center of community organizing, and sometimes to act as a front to hide revolutionary/combat organizing against the pro fire nation paramilitaries/police force. tenzin is DISTRAUGHT that korra does this and this is where the friction btwn them comes from bc (from tenzin’s perspective) she does things like this without thinking or even fully understanding the context behind them and tenzin will have to deal w the political fallout of the avatar openly aligning herself w a very divisive figure in the community and (from korra’s perspective) tenzin is too unwilling to take sides in a conflict that’s claiming lives and when the state is clearly not taking sufficient steps to protect people well then why the hell shouldnt she align herself w lin beifong, who IS taking steps to protect and support people?

as korra more fully integrates herself into the city and learns more abt how different people think abt everything going on this is where the real exposition abt the equalists begins. they’re a paramilitary group w an ideology thats gaining increasing support among middle/upper class fire nation people, esp nonbenders. on the face theyre abt putting checks on “bender oppression” but really it’s an excuse to persecute and surveil earthbenders waterbenders and airbenders, bc fire nation people have all this leftover fear about benders who arent fire nation Rising Up Against them and these people who r using their Savage Excuse for Bending to terrorize good innocent (fire nation) people. theres all too frequent terrorist attacks that the equalists claim credit for mostly against monuments to earth/water/air nation people and earth/water nation community centers (one like it was the event that forced tenzin back to republic city) but also like the govt doesnt take a lot of these seriously or if they do only a couple people are charged without doing damage to the entire organization

this is also around the time that they meet asami and she becomes part of their friend group. asami likes pro bending but her dad HATES it so she sneaks out to watch matches at lin beifong’s gym (korra says ironically like don’t u know how ~divisive~ that is and asami answers that the only reason its Not divisive is that gyms like beifongs are the only place where nobody recognizes her). and asami alongside korra is also kind of developing a more nuanced perspective on the city that she lives in cuz obviously the only worldview she’s ever been exposed to is her father’s right? and she keeps pushing it off making excuses not to bring mako and bolin and korra around to her house or even not to be seen w them in certain neighborhoods until they call her on it and she’s like Well honestly my dad might do something awful to u! and i dont wanna risk it!

and as time goes on we see more abt asami’s home life like her father’s hyper conservative politics and asami keeps these secrets abt her hobbies and her friends from him but she’s still clearly under his influence and mako bolin and korra r getting increasingly worried abt it cuz like...asami seems to tend to make excuses for him so that she wont have to be drawn into conflict and originally they think its just her being privileged and thats def part of it but the more they find out abt it the more they realize what a tight fucking grip he has on her and the way that like. asami sneaking out once or twice a week is the Only thing she does for herself. and it really starts freaking them out how influential this billionaire is and all the information theyre getting from asami abt what a piece of shit he clearly is. and so that whole plot thing comes about and shows us how deeply embedded these “equalist” ideas are in conservative republic city politics and how much influence theyre actually having in policy making and law enforcement.

asami suffers in the aftermath of this like being forced to truly confront the harm her father is doing both to the city and to herself. and she ends up leaving home when this discovery really breaks. but bc of the deep corruption in govt and police sato isn’t really....dealt with? like this big story breaks and everyones like Oh, My God! Hiroshi Sato Is Funding An Illegal Paramilitary Group! and theres all kinds of inane political discourse about it and he’s arrested but he bails himself out immediately and his finances are examined but he maintains control over them and after a few weeks the gang (bc they Have become close among all this w much less interpersonal drama lol) has to admit that this news story hasnt done what they thought it was going to it hasn’t dealt the equalists a real hit its just given them a very high profile ally

and this is when things really start to ramp up in terms of action like up until now korra’s daily activities are mostly like hanging around in the city w her friends  (which in part entails doing little avatar stuff that people dont feel comfortable going to police with, like Can you help me my ex husband wont pay child support or Please help i got robbed and i really needed that money for rent next month or Help my son keeps skipping school can you talk to him cuz im worried abt him being safe and doing well in school) and pro bending and airbending lessons (which i know ive neglected this part of the story in terms of her whole spiritual/physical conflict but it’s more of a subtle thing like it’s one of tenzin and korra’s more frequent arguments like tenzin says she needs to focus on spirituality and korra asks why she even needs to bc republic city is a sociopolitical problem not a spiritual one) but now the equalist threat seems to really be looming on every level of society like the storyline of equalists preventing pro bending matches happens here and everyones just at a total loss of what to do next. plus increasing and scary rhetoric about tenzin and his family that destroying the last airbenders is necessary to preserving the integrity of the united republic

and so theres the equalist takeover of the city. the people who are mostly resisting this are lin and ragtag group of people who have been resisting colonial rule for a long time (including suyin, who is part of a communist anti colonial community outside the city, because i said so and i think it would be fun), people who have been visiting her gym for years, members of her amateur pro bending league, plus asami and korra and tenzin. korra and tenzin have a sweet moment (bc they do genuinely care abt each other a lot even if their relationship has been marked w a lot of tension and arguing) where tenzin says like you know i think that ive lost focus on the kind of spirituality that might actually help you. korra says what do you mean? and tenzin kind of gestures to where theyre sitting with people buzzing around organizing to take care of innocents and civilians and to fight the equalists and he says this is a kind of spiritual too, isnt it?

and something something plot plot blah blah i havent decided on the details of the plot climax yet but that’s the climax of korra’s character development and what helps her connect w her spiritual side in order to protect the city: the realization that community is its own kind of spirituality. and it kind of represents the real development that i want her to have going from somebody who thinks that the world is divided into criminals and victims and she has to save the victims Into the kind of avatar who understands the people that she’s bound to serve. she becomes an avatar of the people!

and then happy ending lol korra and asami get together lin and tenzin reconcile after years of being at odds the show ends on a hopeful note that the inhabitants of republic city and the united republic as a whole Can move on from the scars of colonialism by reckoning w the remnants of fire nation colonial ideology and reparations to the earth kingdom people whose land this is and destruction of colonial systems that have maintained and enforced colonial violence all these years

Okay it's a short drabble i really wanted to share before I leave for Prague. The first parts are history settings for Alexios and Jacob. Personally I support your decision because I strongly believe that we all have only one life and we should make ourselves happy. And if getting a tattoo would make you happy, then it's an answer!

Okay my research say that in Ancient Greece tatooes were seen as a form of a punishment. They were put on slaves that tried to escape, on people from other nations that lost battles (atenians tatooed owls, symbol of athena, on Semians), Caligula tattoed gladiators to show they are a public properly and Christians forced to work in mines.

Generally tatooes in Ancient Greece were seen as something bad, humilitating and according to Herodotus' notes they learnt tattooing criminals from Persians.

Yet a lot of other nations that Greeks had the opportunity to meet treated tatoos as a sign of nobillity etc.

How would Alexios react to you wanting to have a tattoo? He would be deffinitely against it.

"No, y/n! You are neither a criminal nor a slave. Do you want people to treat you like one only because you want a tattoo?"

He was worried. In Greek world there was no place for tatooed people. They were treated wrong, more like objects than actual human beings. With a tattoo no one would respect you and Alexios just wanted to save you the pain. Not to mention that it was unlikely you could find a tattoo artist. Slaves and criminals were tatooed to mark their crimes, those weren't nice patterns as they weren't a decoration but a mark of shame.

"There are countries, nations that treat tatooes as works of art. People mark their bodies because they want, because it makes them special and beautiful!" you said, to prove your point. But you could see that Alexios was getting irritated.

"But you are in Greece, y/n! In Athens! And as long as you are here tattoo will only bring you troubles. You saw how slaves were treated in Mercia. You saw criminals in Sparta. For people it won't matter that you are a good person, they will see the tattoo on your skin and assume you are nothing. I won't support decision that may turn your life into a nightmare."

As for Victorian period. Usually tatooes were a thing for soldiers, sailors and criminals. Henry Mayhew wrote in his 1862 book on London prisons that "Most persons of bad repute have private marks stamped on them – mermaids, naked men and women, and the most extraordinary things you ever saw. They are marked like savages, whilst many of the regular thieves have five dots between their thumb and forefinger, as a sign that they belong to ‘the forty thieves’. The part about 5 dots isn't too accurate because even though something like 40 thieves existed, tatooes were found on both men and women, not only thieves. Generally tatooes were becoming more and more popular not only among criminals, sailors and soldiers. The most popular patterns were initials or love related themes as well as everything marine. What's interesting dots were a very popular pattern, especially on left side of the body and that indicates that people tatooed themselves alone. Jacob having his tatooes on his left may suuggest he tatooed himself too.

"I-... Are you sure? Tatooes are permament, I dont want you to regret that decision."

"Do you regret getting your tatooes, Jacob?"

"No" He answered surprised. He never regretted getting them. They were part of who he was.

"Then I won't regret too. Please?"

"Fine y/n. But I will find the best tattoo artist in London. I need to make sure you won't be hurt or scarred for life."

Rune translations and Bottom theories (I did my best!) (: It's long! I mean REALLY REALLY REALLY LONG!!!! You've been warned. (Potential TWs below the cut) yeah Hyoga doesn't have a good time here.

I should probably start calling Hyoga "Hyouga" instead since I'm pretty sure it's spelled with a 'U'... but I probably won't. Apologies.

Bottom English translation by Tackmyn Y! (I can't speak Japanese, again, apologies, though I was able to make my own version of Autophagy)

Potential TWs (I dont want to harm anyone by going on this rant): Autophagy (medical terms), nightmares, demons tormenting a guy, Hyoga being unhealthy in more ways than one, mentions of death/murder, self esteem issues, mentions of destructive behavior, manipulation, violence.

Yeah, my boy Hyoga ain't having a good time in this theory.

I feel the need to clarify that this is all speculation. So uh. Everything here is just what I've been thinking about since I hopped into this rabbit hole.

Sinfan (I'm not sure what order they go in, it's quite hard to tell):

I'm not fully sure what "something with shape" means, but there's a possibility that Sinfan could be referring to Hyoga, (a doll/wax figure) or maybe that Sinfan needs something with a shape to be able to exist. Sinfan could need a vessel to stay on the mortal plain and go undetected while staying alive.

Sinfan needs a vessel. And with that thought, it launches into indecipherable theory crafting.

Hyoga summoned Sinfan when he was 12 years old. Thinking he found a vessel, he called upon Pabometh, another grey demon, to help torment Hyoga so the two could get their wish.

Hyoga, at the time, is young, dumb and susceptible to manipulation, meaning it could be easy for Sinfan to grasp the situation with an iron grip which follows Hyoga into adulthood.

"Revival" could also be referring to "Rebirth," symbolized by a butterfly. It could also mean that Sinfan/Pabo has the powers to revive people. Maybe as a last resort if they need it.

In Hiiragi Kirai's album trailer on Youtube, Hyoga shows up in a scene with 'D' and 'B' in calligraphy on each cheek. They could mean "Death" and "Birth" respectively.

Lines from Autophagy:

"I just wants a peaceful life." Likely means Hyoga wants the demons gone so he can live how he wants to. (Who wouldn't?)

"The voice inside my head? Huh... how odd." Also implies that the demons are still with him.

"My body pulses, memories from my past bringing pain." Means that in Autophagy, Hyoga remembers his past, but it hurts him.

""You can't avoid it in life, so it's best to just deal with it." You say, but you dont seem bothered." Is most likely Sinfan talking to Hyoga. It could also mean that Hyoga can't avoid the demons, so he should just deal with it.

"I can't stop now, so pretend nothing happened!" Could be Hyoga trying to ignore the demons, or maybe he did something he shouldn't have. (Always knew those were prison tattoos...)

"I want to wash my skull out! I want to say bye bye! But yet I didn't do it..." Could mean that the demons are still with him in Autophagy and likely still tormenting him.

"I won't stop, I can't look back." Might mean Hyoga is trying to move on, but with the demons still in his head, he can't, so the "Let me forget!" after the instrument solo might be him wishing that he never remembered in the first place and trying to get the demons to take them away again.

"Just stay away from me!" Could be Hyoga distancing himself from everyone he knows, or trying to get the demons to go away.

"Hello! HAHAHAHA Hello! HAHAHAHAHA!" Might be Hyoga as he slowly loses his remaining sanity due to constant tormenting and pressure from the demons.

"A A A A- 'Allo/Allow/Arrow" could all imply different things, so I'll give a short on all of them.

"'Allo!" Is just an abbreviation of "Hello."

"Arrow!" -According to a quick google search- is a common symbolism for peace and philosophical ideas, and used for protection and hunting. It could mean that Hyoga just wants peace and quiet, which is enforced by "I just want a peaceful life." in the beginning.

"Allow!" Could mean that the demons are trying even harder to bend him to their will and take him over as a vessel. They want Hyoga to allow them to posses him so they can do whatever they please.

Pabo only has 2 that I can see:

"Save (?)ime"]

It might be "time" but I couldn't make out the rune symbol there.

"Nightmare" hardens my thought that Bottom is just a massive nightmare set up by the demons to torment Hyoga, that the song is sung from the perspective of one of the demons (likely Pabo), and that Young Hyoga(tm) in the video is Pabometh playing the part of his repressed/forgotten memories.

This is all assuming the song is, infact, sung by the demons.

Lines from Bottom:

"You're keeping me alive! Today, today, you're killing me!" Could go both ways (Pabo/Sinfan and Hyoga) For Pabo it could just be another variation of the next line I'm about to talk about.

For Hyoga it could mean that he wouldn't be able to function if he didn't have the demons (Sinfan might posses him to make him fit in so nobody notices, keep him from dying from mortal wounds, and he's lived with them so long he might not know what to do without them), but with them he's slowly tearing himself apart from the inside out due to their constant tormenting. Metaphorically or literally is anyone's guess at the moment.

"Autophagy" (his songs name) is a medical term for "self eat" which normally happens when your body is starved, so it eats it's own cells to survive as long as it can. It can also correlate to certain diseases. Autophagy in these terms might also be referring to emotions. It's possible he's been stewing in any sort of negative emotions to cause such effects. (I.E: Guilt, fear, self worth issues,) which could make his resolve weaker, making it easier for Pabo and Sinfan to torment him/possess him. The longer it goes on, the closer he could be to self destructing.

"A wax figure/a doll is keeping me alive/killing me." Is more related to the demons in my eyes. "Wax figure/a doll" is likely referring to Hyoga. Hyoga could be their only tie to the mortal realm, (Sinfan being more prominent because he was summoned first, and by Hyoga himself.)

It could also mean that they need to inhabit his mind/body in order to survive and make it easier to torment Hyoga. If they both are in Hyoga's mind 24/7 while he suffers from nightmares (which cause lack of sleep, keeping his body in a perpetually weak state), no self worth, and a fragile mental state ("I wanna keep you out of my fragile mind!") while he tears himself apart, it would mean it would be harder to stay with him without something happening.

Due to that, it's likely that the very thing keeping them alive and in the mortal realm is also killing them at the same time.

It may be worth mentioning that a line in Bottom is "You think you're a god to me?" while 9lore translated Rinen's (Möbius') tattoo on his chest, which reads "Be still and know that I am god." It could a a coincidence, but I thought I'd mention it just in case (:

Throughout the entire song the demons are mocking and belittling Hyoga. (I.E: "Defying all logic, you're nothing but evil." "You're so stupid! You scumbag, scumbag, scumbag!") Most of the angry rant type of thing happens when Young Hyoga (tm) is on-screen. (It could be a tactic to make Hyoga not want to remember/manipulate his memories/tear down his resolve even more/or just plain upset him.)

"I mean, who, who, who are you?" It's been made clear that for the longest time (according to WOOMA) Hyoga didn't even remember his own name. "Who are you?" might be Pabo trying to get into Hyoga's head and make him question his own sanity.

"What the hell are you to me?" Implies that Pabo also want Hyoga to question why Pabo is here. Sinfan was summoned by Hyoga, but Pabometh was likely summoned by Sinfan to help tear down Hyoga. That means the two don't have much history, and Hyoga most likely doesn't know why Pabo is here for awhile.

It's "you to me" instead of "me to you" so Pabo could also be trying to get Hyoga to try and notice him in a positive way so that the nightmares stop. I'll expand on that some more a few (a lot) of paragraphs down.

"Inside my heart is- such a rage! Such a rage! So I'll grab you, grasp you, and crush you flat!" Is a line I find interesting. It also leads directing into another line; "The symptom of the unforgettable emotion is my burning intent to murder, which is absolutely right." Pabo would likely be talking about Hyoga, which implies that if he could, Pabo would murder Hyoga himself, but since the "wax figure" is needed to keep both him and his accomplice, Sinfan, alive, he can't.

It also implies that Pabo is extremely angry with Hyoga, for a reason I can't particularly pinpoint, except maybe for the fact that Hyoga's becoming more and more unstable and not safe for Pabo and Sinfan. The only problem is, it's Pabo and Sinfans fault he's like that. They're the ones that chose Hyoga as a vessel while simultaneously destroying him.

However, it's possible that Pabo's aim was to devoid Hyoga of anything and everything, (I.E: memories, emotions, etc. etc.) so that he was just that: a vessel. But with Hyoga being so destructive to himself, the whole plan could have gone awry and Pabo's only thought was how furious he was at Hyoga for messing up his chance to be in the mortal realm undetected for good, meaning he wishes he could destroy Hyoga and just get it over with so him and Sinfan could wait until someone else summoned them so they could take advantage of that.

""How deplorable you are! How deplorable you are!"" Is a line that has a chance of Hyoga himself having said it due to it having quotes on it. It also implies that he he could be fighting back, so his resolve might not crushed completely. However, a show of strength like that would likely just enrage Pabometh even more than he already is. It also doesn't help the positive impression he wants Pabo to have of him.

"You're involving yourself with me again like a clingy, clingy neighbor!" Sounds like Pabo, again, insulting Hyoga. If we go off of another part of this fever dream I've cooked up, (Hyoga not knowing what to do without the demons, but with them destroying himself), sounds like Pabo doesn't want to be with Hyoga anymore, going as far as hating him so much he's festering in it.

The "again" makes it sound like Hyoga's tried to communicate with them more than once, being unsuccessful each time. Hyoga could be trying to latch onto them, either to take them down with him or trying to get the nightmares to stop. Like I said, for a while Hyoga could have been trying to get positive attention and make Pabo like him.

"The low-end is going to manipulate me." Could be Pabo addressing that he knows what Hyoga was trying to do and calling him out for it.

"Brimming with momentary anger, rot away quickly, quickly, quickly!" Again, Pabo is talking about his burning hatred for Hyoga.

"I'm always losing! How, how dare you!" Implies that even with all the nightmares and torment, Hyoga has just enough willpower to keep Pabo from getting his wish, angering him even more.

And finally, a line from Autophagy:

"Oh, rise seeds of evil, bursting with malice!" Might be Hyoga finally giving into the demons and becoming their vessel if they take away his painful memories and stop hurting him.

Pentagram:

With it over Pabo, it's possible that this was the one that summoned Pabo instead of Sinfan, although with it also under Hyoga, it could be Sinfan's. Who knows, it might also be boths.

In the ending scene with the pentagram, the colors of the other songs are visible, meaning that it's possible all of them are connected.

(I could go on for hours about the small loopholes that I think mean all the songs are connected in specific ways. Either way I know they're all from the same universe.)

With all their colors on it, it might mean they all have a demon of their own.
