Something possessed me and uh now I have and intense need for competitive pair skating content with these two duos specifically. Really messy coloring style for me but I kinda dig it. Here's also the first sketches I did of this concept with Shadow that further cemented this idea in my head.

a quite simple outfit, trying to use the little blue and white apron thing (which is actually a dress I think, that I just leave un-buttoned in the back and added an apron-like tie to lol)

whatever this setting is that im creating has a tag now (chaos energy au, im not feeling creative and it just needs Any Tag). some more thoughts about chaos energy and the fellas using it:

chaos energy is inherently destructive, and there's a reason its primary uses lie in powering machinery; organic bodies are easily damaged by it when trying to handle large quantities of it at once

chaos emeralds are almost uncomfortably warm to touch, not enough to burn but you won't enjoy handling them bare-handed

echidnas are the only species that naturally resist the effects of chaos energy, and are able to harness it without drawbacks. most of it likely has to do with them evolving in proximity of the emeralds, but there are no clear answers as to why

sol energy is still the baja blast of chaos energy and has similar if not the exact same properties

blaze can withstand both sol and chaos energy with no ill effects due to the presence of iblis in her heart. she's not aware of it, but he cycles the energy out of her system safely and without allowing it to harm her

shadow was hand-crafted to withstand chaos energy as well as possible, giving him the innate ability to chaos control with ease and utilize the energy's full potential with no real side effects

he's not exactly made of chaos energy, but rather has a resistance similar to echidnas that allows him use it freely

a super state inherently burns away at its host. this cannot be prevented through regular means, and the only one who resists this is blaze due to iblis' presence

sonic is not immune to the effects of a super state

he has built up some resistance over the several times he has entered a super state, but this is more akin to a numbness to the destructive effects rather than any true resistance

silver's super state during the fight against solaris nearly destroyed him, partially resulting to his generally unstable existence post-06

a super state's destructive effects can be hastened and amplified through repeated transformations in quick success, prolonged transformations, and the host already being in a weakened state from other causes and effects (i.e. cyber corruption, dark gaia's influence...)

see i can understand why some people are annoyed with just how Much a lot of the more recent idw sonic stuff focuses on new characters when some game characters arent appearing as often but i dont get why people are mad over new characters being introduced and having stories about them in general. like why are you reading the comic based on the Hedgehog With 5 Million Friends franchise and getting mad when he has 5 million friends

Blaze not having any of her own knowledge on deep relationships but still trying to help Silver out is both endearing and funny to me. And so is the idea of Silver going to her for romantic advice at all. Blaze may not fail an open book test on relationships the way I presume Silver would but I can't see her faring too much better on a standardized exam

We don't know too much about Blaze and Silver's relationship in the games, except the fact they're allegedly good friends these days? In TSR they're on great terms and Blaze is the one actually listening to Silver, and vice versa Silver opens up to her with his concerns. So I think they've got a close enough friendship that they can discuss these things more easily between the two of them compared to with other characters (since I would say there's even less clear details on Silver's relationship with most of the cast other than 'they're friends', alas). But that being said, I think Silver has a high opinion of Blaze, so he might overestimate her abilities to help him somewhat, haha. Here it does not help that Blaze is both still rather socially awkward and doesn't seem interested so much in romance, as much as the Sonic franchise dabbles into that. So she might definitely struggle to lend Silver help! She absolutely does her best, but it is indeed not something that she knows a lot about, and I figure the topic might make her flustered if pressed too much about it. Good thing for her that Silver doesn't know how to press because he has no idea about romance either XD

For the fic, I actually dove a bit into Sonic Rush and what Sonic told Blaze there: I figured it would be nice for Blaze to repeat the advice he provided, since it was so important to shape her into who she is now. So with her taught knowledge on how to act to be friendly and Silver's tenacity and positive attitude, I think they'd at least get far together. Definitely not as far as someone like Amy could go, but far! And Blaze was right in that Silver just had to be honest with Espio, because Es absolutely reciprocated the moment Silver came to him <3

I've been playing a lot of Hades lately, and I love the game as much as I did a few years ago when I last binged it, but I do have a small complaint. I wish less of the 'plot' was clearly meant to take place before you "beat" the game by getting past the last boss 10 times.

Like it's so obvious that around 30-40% of the plot is MEANT to take place before you even REACH said boss for the first time, and another 40-ish takes place between then and getting ten complete runs.

Only the remaining 25-ish percent is either nebulous or generic enough to take place at ANY time, or explicitly after "beating" the game.

Just as an example, judging by what she says in the conversation that unlocks Meg's hearts and allows you to continue befriending and/or romancing her, her unlock condition is literally just having Alecto and Tisiphone in the game. I'm not sure WHAT condition they have for first appearing (reaching the final boss once maybe?) but I've literally NEVER gotten to the point where Meg is locked before her sisters appear. Or even before "beating" the game.

I've also NEVER reunited any of the estranged pairs in this game prior to beating it, even though it seems like you CAN (and at least in the case of Orpheus & Eurydice, are probably expected to) do so before then. And I know that some of the "summons" are initially locked since the people you're calling for help CAN'T defy Hades, but again, the only one I've ever gotten in time use against him before that restriction is lifted is Skelly's, who WILL come anyway. I guess that's on me for trying to raise everyone roughly equally with nectar instead of favoring anyone. Skelly and Charon usually end up ahead just because they run out of dialogue and I want more from them.

It's a really dumb and perhaps conceited thing to say, but I've gotten TOO good at the "early" game of Hades. The Pact of Punishment can kick my ass, but without it, or with only 1 or 2 restrictions that I'm decent at? From a completely new file, I can consistently REACH the final boss in 15 runs, beat him at least once in 25, and beat him 10 times in 45. And it's a lose-lose situation because I KNOW I'm missing a lot of dialogue that will either be gone forever or eventually crop up way late and hilariously out of place (Zag, you're really bemoaning to Achilles about killing live vermin NOW, after you've done so at least 20 times before?), OR I have to deliberately lose, which... bothers me.

The bulk of the GAMEPLAY for this game is post-game, due to chipping away at the Pact and raising the heat with all your weapons. But the bulk of the STORY takes place before that, and if you go too fast you either miss out on a lot or get some really jarring dialogue at times. As much as I love this game, that discrepancy bothers me.

Idk I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but the fatal flaw of tumblr blaze is that sometimes humanity is not inherently good but inherently evil and selfish. You click on a blazed post about people promoting a project they’ve spent months on usually like a book or a comic or a store that’s something like a love letter to the queer community and the comments are just filled with people saying shit like “go kys” and “I don’t care about your shitty project I hope it flops” etc. etc. I’m not saying every post is like that, I mean I haven’t see a lot of negativity when people blaze pictures of their animals but the idea of blazing something I’ve worked really hard on and want more people to see is great until I click on other people doing that and I’m met with the most vile comments I’ve ever seen in all my time on tumblr.

so uh

I don't know if my neighbors smoking so much pot it can be smelled throughout the entire apartment complex is making my 'vid symptoms worse but it sure ain't making them better
