Spread: The Path of the Dragon - Relationship Progress ver.
The Offering (First Meeting)
4 of Wands
We are likely to meet through a common interest or through mutual friends or a community we both belong to. It’s likely for us to click for the first sight due to common topics to talk about. Our first meeting is likely to leave a feeling of joy and harmony, like if we met a soulmate.
The Sacrifice (Dating)
10 of Pentacles
Dating is likely to be rich in events, experience and activities. We truly like to make the best out of the time spent together and we regret no expense. It’s likely for us to try new hobbies together, going to courses, lectures, workshops and evening classes in order to have fun together as much as improving our skills or discovering completely new ones.
The Fox (Kissing)
4 of Pentacles
We might become rather greedy kissers. It’s likely for us to attend this activity with overwhelming enthusiasm and thirst. It’s like there’s never enough, both of us wanting more. We both indulge in the physical sensations coming with the kissing.
The Punishment (Making Out)
King of Pentacles
Greedy kissing is likely to escalate into a make out session which is likely to involve a lot of physical contact - stroking, caressing, touching, pushing, pulling, pressing, pinching, squeezing, groping, tickling, biting, sucking and licking. It’s very likely for both of us to enjoy it so much that we intentionally drag it to last longer, building the lust and desire up steadily until it feels like we’re trapped in a furnace and ready to burn.
The Purifying Fire (First Night)
XIX The Sun
After the description of the make out session, it’s probably no surprise that the first night is going to burn like the sun. It’s likely for us to slip into it accidentally as the make out simply leads to it. Nine is a joyful and sensual lover without a doubt and the first night is likely to feel like an achievement and success. It’s likely to be a fun and cheerful experience with a lot of giggling on both sides. It’s a blissful moment and leads to an even stronger bond between us.
The Death (Sexual Chemistry)
Ace of Cups
The chemistry between us is abundantly flowing and overwhelming. We are nearly drowning in bliss and happiness when together. Through the course of the relationship we built an invisible but steel strong bond, nothing can come between us. It’s like we are constantly thirsty for each other. Only we can put each other's fire down and give each other a remedy for the perishing thirst.
The Dragon (Wedding)
Ace of Swords
If we decide to get married, there’s no force in this world to change our minds on it. It’s likely for us to discuss the matter in detail and be very sensible and realistic about it. It’s more likely to be a very private wedding with only the dearest people witnessing.

Deck: E. A. Poe
Spread: The Power of the Dragon (Dragon = Nine)
First Bite of the Dragon (How would he seduce you)
Page of Pentacles
Nine’s best chances to seduce me are through common activities and his genuine interest in them and me. I fall for no gifts nor fake sweet words. If he’s supporting me and motivating me to become a better person, that’s what makes me fall for him.
Hunger of the Dragon (His desire you would feed)
2 of Swords
I could become the brutally honest person to give him genuine and wise advice when he needs it, when he’s in doubt. I could become the lighthouse on his way to show him the true colours of things and help him to make important decisions.
Order of the Dragon (How would he wrap you around his finger)
V The Hierophant
He could easily wrap me around his finger by how many contradictions he impersonates. I’m usually no push over but whenever Nine would start to boss me around in his cute way, I would surrender completely to him. His ability to lead me and at the same time encourage me to seek my own freedom and become more daring would get me on my knees.
Shadow of the Dragon (In what way this relationship weakens him)
8 of Pentacles
Playing around with me might actually distract him from his professional endeavours. His work might start to suffer and he might make mistakes or lose focus.
Fire of the Dragon (In what way this relationship empowers him)
Ace of Cups
This relationship would give him the feeling of being truthfully and unconditionally loved and cherished. He would feel emotionally fulfilled and secure, all his fears dissolving in the sea of love and affection. He would become inspired by bliss and might actually take on more forms of art. Apart from writing lyrics and making music, he might actually start writing poems or draw or get interested in any other artistic way.
Whispering of the Dragon (Dragon's Relationship Advice)
VI The Lovers
The advice for this relationship is pretty clear - we should always be honest with each other and never try to hide anything. Only if there’s a complete trust in between us, we will feel as if we found our destined soulmate, the companion for life given to us by a sweet faith.
Tumblr media
Kleo + Nine
Deck: E. A. Poe
Spread: Writer’s Wisdom
Pride & Prejudice (The way you empower each other)
9 of Wands
Nine and I encourage and support each other through life struggles. Whenever one of us feels like there is an opposition or that we are manipulated, the other will come and stand firmly by our side like a trusty rock. We make a very good team to handle everyday difficulties and to overcome hardships with determination and good spirit.
Sense & Sensibility (The way you balance each other)
Knight of Cups
We are perfectly balancing each other's needs for romance and joy in life. We instinctively know when the other needs to be swoon by romance or when they need to laugh freely. We make each other feel easy and relaxed, we know we can share any thoughts no matter how silly or dumb they might seem to others.
Persuasion (The way you fight with each other)
9 of Swords
As much as we get along well most of the time, there are moments when we fight, too. Our arguments are more likely to be based on assumptions and internal fabricated fears we have made up. All our quarrels are based on over-thinking and blowing tiny matters out of scale. We should learn to first ask and talk honestly before jumping to conclusions and creating non-existing problems.
Mansfield Park (The way you cherish each other)
4 of Wands
We truly cherish the quality time spent together, the relaxing and joyful moments when we can just stop rushing through the days and take a break to enjoy each other in the comfort of our home. It’s likely for us to actually give a lot of care and attention to our home, decorating, renovating, attending house plants and cooking together. Those would be our favourite activities.
Emma (The way you communicate)
5 of Swords
The way we talk with each other might seem rather violent and brutal for an outsider. It can even resemble an argument or fight. However, it’s only because we are so completely honest with each other that we never try to hide or sugar coat things. Others might find it intimidating but for us it’s only strengthening the trust we have.
Northanger Abbey (The way you fall in love with each other)
5 of Cups
We are likely to fall in love as it gives us peace and optimism. Sharing love helps us to overcome our internal fears and insecurities.

Summary: The Marauders are getting older, and that means so many things. Mischief, heartbreak, and trying to figure out who they really are. They’ll face problems within their group, prove their loyalty to each other, and discover the ugliness that is brewing in the wizarding world at large. Welcome to Years 2-4 of the Marauders time at Hogwarts. **This piece is a sequel to Behind the Mango Tree, however, you do not have to have read the first installment to pick this up. It does stand alone, but there is some carry over from the last book, especially with inter-character relationships. Basically, you don’t have to have read BtMT, but it certainly helps. Word Count: (2,136) 22,361 Links: FFnet | ao3 | tumblr: Ch 1, Ch 2, Ch 3, Ch 4, Ch 5, Ch 6
A/N: The best laid plans, am I right? I sincerely apologize for the long delay here, its been a lot of one thing after another. Between moving, and traveling, my computer breaking, and some family news, things have been a little bit crazy. I finally finished the next chapter today, but I didn't want to make you guys wait any longer (it's been long enough). So looking forward... the next chapter is almost done, but I'm going to wait until next Wednesday to post it, to give myself time to edit and stuff. So next chapter on 4/10. Depending on how things look next Wednesday, I'm going to make a decision as to whether or not to keep this weekly, or switch to every other week. I hate keeping you guys waiting, but I want to make sure I have adequate time to write these chapters properly. But, like I said, we'll see how things look next week.
As always, comments are always welcome, and very much appreciated (even if it's just one word), so please let me know what you're thinking!
Now that that's settled, I don't really have any other notes for this chapter, so enjoy, and I hope you like it!
Chapter 7: Peter’s Plan
November rolled around bringing with it a plague of scorch throat, and Sirius was delighted when he came down with it right around the full moon. He might not be able to be with Remus while he transformed, but at least Sirius could be with him while he recovered in the hospital wing. He tried to make Remus laugh by exhaling flames with every word he spoke, hiding the winces each time he felt the burn tear through his throat. It was worth it to see even the most fleeting of smiles on his friend’s face.
That month, the full moon was worse than it had been before, and Remus had been sick the whole day leading up to it. He’d woken in the middle of the night vomiting from the pain, and he had rushed to the hospital wing, settling in the bed next to Sirius until sunset.
“I wish there was something we could do to make Remus feel better,” James sighed as he and Peter trudged through the chilly halls to class.
“We try to help him get better as much as we can,” Peter answered, sadness passing over his face despite his words. “And we help him with homework and notes and stuff so he doesn’t fall behind.”
“I know, I just... those transformations must be bloody awful, and I wish there was something we could do to make them easier,” James said.
“What happens if he bites an animal while he’s transformed?” Peter asked, an idea nipping at the edge of his mind.
“Nothing,” James answered with a shrug. “Well, not nothing, but they don’t get, you know, infected.”
“So animals can’t become werewolves?” Peter clarified, chewing on his cheek slightly.
“No, only humans,” James said, Peter’s line of questioning lost on him.
“What do you think would happen if he bit a person who was transfigured into an animal?” Peter continued, not entirely sure about what he was suggesting.
“Dunno,” James said, cocking his head to one side. “Why? What are you thinking?”
“Well, just that, if animals are immune to lycanthropy, and wizards take on all the traits of animals when they... morph into them or whatever... well would that mean that they couldn’t be infected while they were in animal form?”
Peter looked nervous as he asked the question, as if concerned that James would laugh and say he was being ridiculous.
“I’m not sure,” James answered. “No one really knows how much you change. But I think... I don’t think so, I mean they’re still human, right? You don’t really turn into the animal, you just take their form. But genetically, you’d still be human, so I think you could be infected.”
“But what if you can’t though?” Peter pushed, feeling a little more confident in his idea.
“Well, it’d still be pretty risky,” James said. “I mean, werewolves are still pretty lethal, you could still get mauled or eaten or something.”
“Yeah, but maybe not,” Peter proposed, a bright glint in his eye.
They had reached the door of the Charms classroom, and the two boys ducked inside, filing into their seats. Peter mulled things over in his mind as the class continued, unable to focus on their lesson about Cheering Charms.
About halfway through the class, Professor Flitwick asked a question that Peter didn’t hear. Lily’s hand shot into the air, and Peter watched as James reached up from his seat next to her and slapped her palm in a hard high-five. Lily let out an annoyed huff, but she didn’t acknowledge James’ action in any other way, her hand never wavering. James grinned happily and leaned back in his chair, pushing the front two feet up into the air slightly.
“You are a complete arse, Potter,” Lily hissed, after she had answered Professor Flitwick’s question, the satisfied smile slipping from her face.
“C’mon, Evans, you know I’m charming,” James smirked, and she rolled her eyes in response.
The rest of the class, and the day, passed in a bit of a blur. Peter felt unfocused, his mind drifting away at every opportunity, and he couldn’t have brought it back if his life depended on it. As he went through the motions of going to class, eating dinner, even visiting Sirius, Peter’s thoughts kept returning to Remus, trying to piece together a way to help him.
Once the other Gryffindor boys had all fallen asleep, a chorus of snores echoing from James, Lance, and Firmin’s beds, Peter decided he had to have an answer to the question burning in his heart. He leaned over and grabbed a pair of socks from his trunk, sliding them off his feet, and then slipped silently through the dormitory. It must have been later than he realized, as the common room was nearly empty, and the few students who were there paid no attention to Peter as he snuck through the portrait hole.
“Going somewhere?” the Fat Lady asked, as the portrait closed behind Peter.
“I need to see Professor McGonagall,” he squeaked in surprise.
“You’d better hope that no one else finds you along the way,” she answered, giving him a curious look.
Peter didn’t wait to find out what her expression meant, turning on his heel and walking quickly down the hall. He reached the door of Professor McGonagall’s office without incident, and he took a deep breath as he raised a small fist to knock on the ancient wood.
It was a long moment before the door opened, Professor McGonagall standing on the other side in a tartan dressing gown. Peter had a flurry of nerves as he saw her, suddenly wondering why he hadn’t just waited until morning to do this.
“What are you doing out of bed so late, Mr. Pettigrew?” Professor McGonagall asked, as she looked at the young boy in front of her.
“Professor, you know how on our first day of class in first year you turned into a cat and back?” Peter said, shuffling his feet nervously.
“Yes, Mr. Pettigrew, I vaguely remember,” she answered dryly.
“What’s that called again?”
“An animagus, Mr. Pettigrew, you ought to pay better attention,” she chided, although she was not surprised. First years were almost always too nervous or excited to pay much attention on the first day of school. Those with nonmagical upbringings hardly ever remembered anything about animagi until they began to cover it much later on.
“Right, well, I was wondering... if a werewolf bit an animagus while they were an animal, would they become a werewolf too?” Peter asked, trying to seem as casual as possible.
“Why do you ask?” She raised an eyebrow at him, immediately suspicious of his question.
“I was... reading about werewolves and it said only people can be affected.”
Professor McGonagall seemed surprised that he had retained this information, or indeed been reading about anything academic other than the passages that his coursework dictated.
“You were reading about werewolves?” she clarified. “A topic which is somewhat beyond your current education level?”
“Yes, Professor.”
“Mr. Pettigrew, if you think –“
“I don’t,” Peter said hurriedly. “And if I did I wouldn’t tell a soul. It wouldn’t be right. But I don’t. It’s just a... a hobby. An interest.”
“Well, Mr. Pettigrew, I must assure you that you are quite safe from werewolf attacks, and needn’t worry –“
“I’m not worried, Professor, I was just curious... it must be lonely for them...” he explained, lost in his thoughts for a moment.
“Since I see very few instances of curiosity from you, Mr. Pettigrew, I feel inclined to encourage it by answering your question, but only if you stop interrupting me,” Professor McGonagall said sternly. “I do not believe that a wizard, bitten while in his or her animagus form, would be inflicted with lycanthropy, no. They are, physically, the animal they appear to be, with its traits, including, I believe, immunity from lycanthropy. Of course, no study has ever been performed on the subject. It would be incredibly dangerous, and as such, not many would volunteer for it.”
“Thank you, Professor,” Peter said sincerely, turning to leave her office.
Professor McGonagall watched him go, his words sticking in her mind, and she considered the young Gryffindor currently alone in the Shrieking Shack. Peter had a point, Minerva couldn’t even imagine how terrifying it had to be, transforming into something so wild and uncontrollable, doing so alone. In an instant, she knew what she had to do.
Minerva left her office, pulling her warm, tartan cloak from its place on the coat rack and wrapping it around her shoulders as she moved. She swept through the halls of the empty castle, until she stepped into the night air. A gentle rain was falling, giving the autumn air an extra bite. The moon was full overhead, visible mostly as a hazy glow through the cloud cover.
“Lumos,” she whispered, the tip of her wand igniting, lighting her path.
Minerva strode through the grounds until she found the Whomping Willow. With a wave of her wand, a branch on the ground transformed into a snake and slithered to the base of the tree, pressing a knot in the trunk with its tail. Immediately, the branches of the tree stilled, and Minerva was able to step closer.
There was a small opening between the willow’s roots, which Minerva knew led to a dank passage. She closed her eyes and focused on her transformation, a moment later finding herself in feline form. Quickly, she trotted through the stilled branches and down into the tunnel. It was a long trek, particularly as a cat, but it was easier than being hunched over.
Some twenty minutes later, Minerva felt the ground slope upwards beneath her paws, and she emerged into the creaking entryway of the Shrieking Shack. She could hear snarling from above, footsteps pacing back and forth. Long nails clicked against the wood, and a loud growl accompanied a crash.
Carefully, Minerva padded across the floor and up the stairs, soft creaks issuing from beneath her paws. When she reached the landing, she could see the werewolf pacing through the gap in the doorway, his claws reaching to destroy any furniture he could find. Minerva sat in the doorway, watching for a moment.
Softly, she meowed, getting his attention. Remus. His yellow eyes fixed on her, and for a moment his lips curled up to show his teeth, a deep rumbling echoing in his chest, but then he paused. A hint of recognition seemed to cross his face, and his muscles relaxed a little.
Remus returned to pacing the room, but he seemed less frantic, less agitated. After he passed by her for the third time, Remus stopped in front of Minerva, staring at her, and growled lightly. But it was more of a conversation than a threat, like he was trying to tell her how frustrated he felt, how angry, how scared.
They spent a few hours this way, in passing conversation of sorts, before Remus curled up on the floor, huffing heavily. Minerva crept closer to him and leapt onto the sole in tact chair, curling up herself. She meowed softly once more and watched Remus close his eyes, watching over him as he drifted off.

Day 8 Bleach fic Grimmichi
Still going with the 30-Day AU Challenge
Day 8: Horror Movie AU
UGH This was the hardest day so far because I’ve never seen an entire horror movie, so I wasn’t going to do anything for this one. Then I got the humorous mental picture of Grimmjow actually trying to be scary which morphed into Halloween. And then I realized that I just really wanted the two of them to get it on.
THEN I wrote 3,500 words of dirty, filthy sex only to realize in HORROR this morning that this is Tumblr and yeah, I probably shouldn’t post real porn on here lest I be banned or blacklisted or whatever is going on these day to censor folks.
THAT made me think that I maybe I should actually post this entire Dumpster fire worth of fic on AO3 so it’s somewhere safe. So I just did that.
ANYWAY, the beginning of this story is under the cut RATED MATURE and then here’s the link to AO3 where the graphic sex is. If you like that sorta thing. No judgment here.
While making regular visits to Earth after the war, Grimmjow learned just enough about human culture to be mightily confused by it and its nuances (learning mostly from TV and Urahara’s insane crew didn’t help), but when October 31 rolled around, he knew exactly what to do.
He used Urahara’s Amazon account to order what he needed and got ready in the alley behind the shop where no one could see.
At sunset, he drifted up to the Kurosaki residence and rang the bell, waiting and ready.
Isshin opened the door, took a long look and slammed it in Grimmjow’s face. “Ichigo, it’s for you!” his shout was loud enough to barely be muffled from the door.
Grimmjow didn’t move, rang the bell again, and the door opened with a pretty young girl cheering out, “Happy Halloween! Oh. You’re big. Do you want some candy?”
Grimmjow ground his teeth but didn’t answer.
“What is it, Yuzu?” another girl joined the first and looked up at him. “Ha. Nice. Ichigo!”
She slammed the door shut again.
Grimmjow was sorely tempted to just cero the door and maybe the entire house when the door opened the third time.
“What the...ah!” Ichigo actually jumped back and Grimmjow lost it. He doubled over laughing so hard he couldn’t draw a breath.
“Oh fuck you!” Ichigo said, immediately recognizing the maniacal laughter.
“You. Really. Thought.” Grimmjow couldn’t talk from laughing so hard.
“You’re a hundred feet too short to be a real Menos,” Ichigo snapped and Grimmjow hooted.
“Then why did you jump? I saw you!”
Ichigo muttered something under his breath, but Grimmjow grabbed the door before it could slam again. “I thought this was the stupid human tradition, to dress up and frighten each other.”
“Well, yeah, sorta.”
“And I did frighten you,” Grimmjow leaned forward then remembered he was still wearing the mask. He pulled it up and grinned at Ichigo.
“You’re lucky you’re pretty,” Ichigo informed him then reached out and grabbed his hand before Grimmjow could ask what that saying meant. “We’re ready to start the movie.”
“With your family?”
“Annual tradition. You might as well meet them sometime,” Ichigo said, leading him in. “You ever heard of Friday the 13th?”
“The day?”
Ichigo grinned n an expression that Grimmjow knew mirrored his own usual mad smirk. “Oh, you’re in for a treat.”
If Grimmjow had been wont to worry, he might have been nervous finally meeting the family of his … Ichigo but the fact that he didn’t think about it long enough to even define their … thing they had going on meant that he didn’t care. Or whatever.
Still, there was something a little unsettling when Ichigo led him into the family’s living room and didn’t drop his hand.
“Everyone, this is Grimmjow. He thinks he’s funny. Grimmjow, this is everyone,” was all Ichigo said before pulling him toward the couch.
Grimmjow pulled off the mask completely and dropped the hood before sitting beside him. Isshin was looking—glaring?—but didn’t say anything other than, “Snacks are on the table. We’re all out of souls but there is pizza.”
The dark-haired girl ignored him as she ate, but the lighter-haired girl smiled brightly. “It’s so nice to finally meet you, Grimmjow. I’m Yuzu, that’s Karin. Sorry our brother has no manners.”
“He was raised in a barn. By wolves,” Karin said with her mouth full.
Yuzu wrinkled her nose. “So were you. Gross.”
Grimmjow looked at Ichigo who just picked up the plate next to him and went back to eating. Well, if he’d built up any kind of picture of what meeting the … Ichigo’s family was like, this was way more low-key than he could have hoped.
Then Isshin dimmed the lights and put in the movie. Grimmjow would never admit to a fascination with TV and movies, but it was something that he enjoyed in the human world more than most things.
But the film they watched in the quiet darkness was something else. It was funny and terrible. It made him want to laugh and when the fake blood flew, he did laugh. Loudly and so suddenly that Ichigo choked on the soda he was drinking.
“What the—shut up,” Ichigo hissed, wiping at the sticky drops on his shirt.
Grimmjow just grunted in response but kept grinning. Ichigo elbowed him and Grimmjow pushed him away.
“Shhh,” Yuzu ordered, her eyes glued to the screen, her arms hugging a cushion. They obeyed.
Until the next gruesome murder on screen. Yuzu jumped and Karin swore when Grimmjow let loose another raucous laugh.
Ichigo slapped him in the face with a couch cushion then held it there. “Whaaat?!” Grimmjow grabbed at Ichigo’s hands to break free from the smothering.
“Shut up! We’re trying to watch the movie!”
“But it’s hilarious!” Grimmjow wrestled the cushion away from Ichigo and propped it behind his own head.
“It’s not supposed to be funny.” Ichigo’s outstretched hands looked like they were trying to decide if outright strangling would be more effective.
“It’s not?”
“No, it’s scary,” Ichigo said and Grimmjow burst out laughing again.
“This? This is what you call scary? Ulk—” Ichigo’s hands found their target.
“Shhhh,” the other three hissed at them.
Grimmjow broke Ichigo’s hold and gestured to the TV. “You actually think this is scary? I can show you three ways of killing them easier unless you’re actually looking for more blood spray and then I can tell you—”
Ichigo’s hand slapped over his mouth to quiet him. Grimmjow huffed through his nose and licked the palm. Ichigo glared but didn’t move.
“Ichigo, take your—” it was good to see that Isshin was struggling for the right word too— “guest away if he can’t be quiet. I don’t need his suggestions on more efficient ways of slaughtering the innocent right in front of my young, flowering blossoms of—”
“Shut up, Dad,” Karin said as she smacked Isshin’s face with Yuzu’s pillow.
“Ugh, come on,” Ichigo stood up and moved his hand to pull Grimmjow up too. “We’ll go to my room since you can’t keep your big mouth shut.”
Grimmjow wasn’t sure what he’d done to piss off everyone, but he wasn’t about to complain about the chance to be alone with Ichigo in a bedroom. Ever since they’d started doing … whatever it was they were doing, it was a rare treat to be completely alone somewhere private. And comfortable. Much nicer than an alley somewhere.
As soon as Ichigo shut the door behind them, Grimmjow crowded close. He was held off by the firm hand on his chest. “Don’t even think we’re going to—”
“To what?” Grimmjow breathed right in his ear as he brushed his lips along Ichigo’s cheek. He kissed his way down along Ichigo’s jaw.
Ichigo helpfully tilted his head as the kisses trailed down his neck and said, “We’re not going to do this or you’ll think it’s a reward for your bad behavior.”
“Bad behavior?” Grimmjow scoffed and pulled Ichigo’s hips closer by his belt loops. “What’re you talking about?”
“Weren’t you being obnoxious on purpose just so we could ditch my family?”
Grimmjow planted his hands firmly on Ichigo’s ass but pulled his face away to say, “How was I obnoxious?” He couldn’t quite muster up the irritation to be truly angry when Ichigo’s hands were running up his chest and his breath was warm over his lips.
Ichigo’s chuckle was a warm gust. “Nevermind,” and he pressed his lips to Grimmjow’s. Grimmjow opened his mouth eagerly but Ichigo kept the kiss light, tracing his lips against Grimmjow’s top lip first then outlining the bow with the tip of his tongue.
The teasing touch made Grimmjow shiver and tighten his hands on Ichigo’s waist. But Ichigo didn’t hurry. He paid equal attention to Grimmjow’s bottom lip as he slid one hand up into Grimmjow’s hair and wrapped the other around his back to hold him close.
Grimmjow was breathing as hard as he would in battle when Ichigo finally finally licked into his impatient mouth. Grimmjow responded so fervently, he felt Ichigo’s back hit the door. He growled what might have been an apology as he slid his tongue against Ichigo’s to get him to play.
Battling Ichigo Kurosaki in this way had soon almost equaled the joy that fighting him gave Grimmjow. It was another way to enjoy the passion and energy that Ichigo put into everything he did.
Now Ichigo used the hand in Grimmjow’s hair to pull his head back. Grimmjow didn’t want to break the kiss and dove back in before Ichigo pulled him back again.
“The fuck’s wrong?” Grimmjow said, but Ichigo was pushing him then, and when Grimmjow felt the bed against his knees, he sat. Ichigo crawled right onto him and continued the kiss as if they’d never parted.
Grimmjow had two wonderful handfuls of Ichigo’s ass and he squeezed appreciatively before he encouraged Ichigo to grind down against his growing hardness. Then he moaned when Ichigo found just the right undulating motion and broke off with a gasp.
“Not laughing now, are you,” Ichigo said, looking down at Grimmjow and grinning his rare sincere grin.
“Nothing funny about this,” Grimmjow agreed and before Ichigo could get any ideas about taking charge without a fair fight, he flipped Ichigo ass over teakettle onto the bed. While Ichigo was still mid-bounce, Grimmjow climbed on top, his black cloak spread out over them.
“What the hell, I was trying to take things slow for once, you assmunch.” Ichigo pushed at his chest but it was like trying to roll a boulder off of him.
“You like it when I munch your ass,” Grimmjow leaned down to kiss him but Ichigo’s face was doing some kind of contortion he’d never seen.
He pulled back while Ichigo covered his eyes with one hand and said, “You can’t just say something like that.”
“What? I only said—”
“I know what you said! I’m saying don’t say it again! It just doesn’t sound...right.”
Grimmjow rolled his eyes because Ichigo couldn’t see it. He pulled Ichigo’s hand away and smirked down at him. “So I’m allowed to do it, just not to talk about it?”
“Yes. No. Oh my god, I don’t know, just shut up and kiss me.” Ichigo’s face was alight with a blush that Grimmjow was sure he could feel. He tried it, kissing Ichigo’s warm cheek and then the other before taking his lips again.
Ichigo seemed to take out his frustration through his kiss now, and bit at Grimmjow, writhing under him while he pulled at Grimmjow’s hips. Grimmjow didn’t have any interest in taking things slow either, but he did realize they needed to get unclothed somehow.
He slipped one hand down and under Ichigo’s T-shirt and palmed the tight abs he found. He tried to take the shirt with him as he slid his hand up to the flat chest, but it got stuck. He sat back on his heels and tugged at Ichigo’s shirt. “Off.”
“You too,” Ichigo agreed, sitting up far enough to pull his shirt off.
Then Grimmjow opened the fasteners of the cloak and let it fall off his shoulders and bundle at his hips. Ichigo immediately clamped his hand over his eyes again and blushed. “You’re naked!”
“Well, yeah. Isn’t that the point?” Grimmjow rolled his eyes again. “Why are you blushing? We’ve been naked together before. A lot.”
“I know,” Ichigo snapped and glared at him. “But I can’t believe you were naked under there the whole time that you sat downstairs with my sisters. It’s like you’re...more naked.”
“More naked,” Grimmjow smirked. “That’s a good one.”
“Why didn’t you wear something under there?!”
“What do you think that Menos wear under their cloaks?”
And Ichigo covered his eyes and groaned again. “Ugh, why did you have to say that?! Thinking about Menos isn’t sexy!”
“Doesn’t feel like you have a major problem with it.” Grimmjow’s grin grew as he circled his ass a little. Ichigo’s hardness didn’t feel like it had flagged much.
“You’re a freak,” Ichigo grumbled.
“That’s what gets you off,” Grimmjow said as he leaned over and kissed him breathless. Ichigo’s hands worked and pulled the cloak away completely so he could touch all of Grimmjow’s smooth skin and hard muscle. He stroked up and down his back as Grimmjow stretched back out over him.
“Jeans,” Ichigo reminded him breathlessly.
Grimmjow grumbled but finally sat back so Ichigo could open his belt and fly. Then Grimmjow took over, pulling the jeans and briefs together over Ichigo’s slim hips, and down his long legs. He whipped them off dramatically with a snarl that made Ichigo roll his eyes, but Grimmjow knew it was amusement.
“Socks,” Ichigo commanded and Grimmjow parroted back “socks” sarcastically, but he removed them too. Then he looked at the entire naked body spread beautifully before him and could have thanked whatever deity looked out for Hollows for the gift he was given.
Ichigo was apparently waiting for Grimmjow to just pounce on him as usual and braced himself. That made Grimmjow want to be contrary.

Tsuchako Week Day 4: Friends
For Day 4 Friends @tsuchakoweek !
Title: A Night of Songs, Friends and Love Rating/Warnings: Teen Summary: Class 1A decides to hold karoke nights once a week. Tsuyu finds herself always coming to these even if she doesn't like singing in front of people because it means being with her friends and with Ochako. Other Links if available (eg. AO3): http://archiveofourown.org/works/11425377
"I'd like to dedicate this song to Sero!" Kaminari shouted into the microphone.
All of Class 1A was seated in the common room on the couches, chairs and floor. A karaoke machine had been hooked up, and right now the blond boy was holding the microphone in his hand, screaming along to the lyrics of I'm a Believer as Sero and Kirishima cheered, and Mina booed him.
Already half the class had gone up to sing something. Tokoyami had sung My Immortal whether ironically or dead serious no one could tell. Kirishima had performed It's Raining Men, Tooru had gotten up to sing Wannabe, Shouji surprised everyone with Poor Unfortunate Souls, and Satou had attempted to sing Cooking By the Book before Kaminari and Sero started blasting the remix and chanting along. Some duets had also been performed. Deku had asked Ochako to sing You've Got a Friend in Me with him, and then Iida, Tsuyu and Todoroki joined them to sing Hot n Cold. Not wanting to be outdone, Kaminari and Sero had dragged Mina, Kirishima and somehow Bakugou up to sing We Are Number One.
Kaminari had gotten halfway through the song when Jirou chucked a pillow at him and yelled for someone to pull him offstage. This led to Bakugou tackling Kaminari, and a mix of yells and explosions.
Ochako turned to Tsuyu with a laugh.
"This is fun, isn't it?"
"It is." Tsuyu nodded as Kirishima basically dragged Bakugou upstage to perform a duet. At the moment, the girl had other things on her mind though. Mainly her pretty, cheerful and kind classmate sitting right next to her and holding her hand. Tsuyu prayed her face wasn't turning red, and she nearly missed Ochako's next question, absorbed in her thoughts.
"Do you wanna go up and perform something, Tsuyu?" Tsuyu blinked, registering what Ochako had just asked. After a moment, she shook her head.
"I'm alright. I prefer watching. I didn't mind being up with all of you earlier since we were a big group, but I don't really like singing alone."
"Oh." Ochako's face almost seemed to fall, and Tsuyu frowned, puzzled as to why that could be. She worried she'd done something to upset the other. However, Ochako's smile was back a moment later, almost brighter than before. "That's fine, though! You don't have to sing if you don't want to. And it is a lot of fun to watch." She laughed nodding at Kirishima's attempt to encourage Bakugou to sing Jasmine's part of A Whole New World. The blond boy only chucked the microphone on the floor in response.
Everyone covered their ears at the horrible screeching sound that followed from the mic being dropped on the floor, and Tsuyu and Ochako both jumped. Ochako squeezed Tsuyu's hand to comfort her, and Tsuyu blushed at the contact.
If she was honest, she wasn't a huge fan of karaoke. It was fun to watch the others, and she liked hanging out with them, but she just didn't like getting up to sing. She did enjoy singing in her free time, alone and out of sight, but performing in front of others made her nervous. However, she knew how much Ochako loved it, and as long as she was able to sit and watch, she was content. She was even willing every so often to get up and do a song with a group since she could just hide in the background.
Ochako had been one of the people who started these karaoke sessions. She, Midoriya, Kaminari and Mina had started it for fun. One day, Tsuyu heard Mina and Ochako's voices from the hallway, and she ventured out to see what was going on.
She felt bad at having interrupted, but Ochako had run over and assured her that it was no trouble, and she could stay and watch or even sing if she wanted. Tsuyu opted to stay but refused to sing. Ochako seemed relieved that she was willing to stay even if she would not sing, and the two of them often sat next to each other on the couch, Ochako only leaving her side when she got up to perform.
More and more kids ended up joining in on the sessions as they realized what was going on, and now it had become a weekly class activity.
Kouda and Jirou got up next to do a duet of Willow Tree March. This shocked everyone who had never heard Kouda sing before, and the room exploded in applause when they finished causing both of them to blush. Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida, Momo and Kirishima all got up and performed The Boys are Back. Aoyama, Mina and Tooru also all got up to do Never Gonna Give You Up earning groans and boos from some of the class and laughter from others. The theme of the songs changed to show tunes as Kaminari, Sero and Kirishima went next with Sincerely Me, and then Bakugou shocked everyone with Meant to Be Yours from Heathers.
"I didn't know Bakugou could sing." Mina hissed to Ochako, nudging her shoulder.
"Me neither." Ochako whispered back.
"I'm more surprised he likes musicals." Tsuyu added, and a grin split across Mina's face.
"You're right, Tsuyu! This could make for good blackmail material." She giggled, rubbing her hands together, and Tsuyu felt a pang of sympathy for Bakugou.
Bakugou finished, and then Tooru dragged all the girls up with her to sing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. After that, more people went, doing solos or duets including Iida and Izuku singing Disco Inferno to Todoroki to everyone's delight. The boy's face was flushed, and he looked like he was about to burst out laughing at their antics. Tsuyu couldn't help but wonder how Kaminari had gotten the Shrek 2 version of the song, but then again it didn't surprise her.
She glanced over at Ochako who seemed to have something on her mind, no longer focused on the singers. Tsuyu flicked her tongue, wondering if she should ask what was wrong. As if sensing her worry, Ochako looked over, a small smile on her face.
"Don't worry, I'm alright, Tsuyu."
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
A moment of silence passed between them. Tsuyu could tell there was something more, though. Something that was nagging her.
"Is something bothering you?"
"No, I'm alright." Ochako flushed. "I just kinda wanted to get up and do a duet." She nodded at Kaminari who had gotten up after the other two finished and was attempting to serenade Bakugou with I Won't Say I'm in Love. Bakugou looked about to blast his, Jirou, Kirishima, Momo, Sero and Mina's faces off.
"I'm sure one of the others would be happy if you asked them to." Tsuyu supplied, and Ochako bit her lip.
"The thing is," Ochako started, then blushed. She averted her eyes, squeezing the paw pad on her finger. "It's just that I really want to do a duet with you, Tsuyu."
"Oh."
"I mean, if you don't want to, it's fine!" Ochako flushed waving her arms. Tsuyu shook her head. A small smile crept across her face.
"No, it's fine. If it's with you, it's ok."
"Are you sure? I won't make you if you don't want to."
"I'm sure." Tsuyu squeezed Ochako's hand causing both girls to blush. The music faded out as Kaminari tried to lean against Bakugou and got shoved into the five background singers.
"Alright, who's next?" Kirishima cheered, trying to shield Kaminari from an enraged Bakugou.
"Tsuyu and I are gonna go!" Ochako jumped up from the couch with Tsuyu. Tsuyu's heart pounded in her chest as they went over to the machine, and Kirishima handed over the microphone to her, grinning.
"Have fun, you two!"
"You guys are gonna do a duet? Ooh!" Mina teased, winking at Ochako. The girl blushed, and Tsuyu tilted her head, curious as to her reaction.
"What song do you want to do?" Ochako asked, her words coming out a bit more rushed than usual as she looked through the list they had with rapt interest. Tsuyu tapped her chin. She leaned over to look down, and one song in particular caught her eye.
"What about Defying Gravity?" Ochako's eyes lit up causing Tsuyu's heat to beat faster. "You know, because we both like that musical after all, and it's a duet we could do."
Plus it reminds me of your quirk, she thought to herself.
Ochako brightened at the suggestion and clapped her hands together.
"Defying Gravity it is, then! Do you want to be Elphaba or Glinda?"
"I'll be Elphaba. You can be Glinda."
"Ok!" Ochako cheered and selected the song.
The class settled down as the music started, and Ochako launched into Glinda's lines. Tsuyu took a deep breath, readying herself for her part which would be up next. Hearing Ochako's voice soothed her, and she told herself she could do it, that as long as she focused on Ochako it would be fine.
"-I hope you're happy how you hurt your cause forever. I hope you think you're clever!" Ochako sang, and Tsuyu broke out into her part.
“I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy, too. I hope you're proud how you would grovel in submission, to feed your own ambition." She saw Ochako's eyes widen at her voice, and Tsuyu flushed. She had never sang in front of anyone before despite singing in private, and it made her nervous. However, Ochako's eyes were sparkling and full of such warmth that it encouraged her to keep going.
“So though I can't imagine how! I hope you're happy right now...” The two sang together, their voices in harmony. The class became silent, awestruck as the two girls performed. The whole time Tsuyu focused on Ochako, only her, banishing all other thoughts and fears from her mind.
At last, the two finished the song, Tsuyu belting out the last line. When they finished, Ochako grabbed Tsuyu's hand and lifted it in the air. The class cheered, Kaminari and Mina whistling, and Tsuyu blushed. She noticed Ochako's face was flushed as well. Giggling, both girls took their seats back on the couch.
"I didn't know you could sing like that!" Mina cheered, and Tsuyu buried her face in one of the pillows. "Ochako why didn't you tell me she had the voice of an angel?"
"I didn't know she could sing like that either." Ochako admitted, a bright smile on her face and her cheeks red. "Tsuyu, you're incredible."
"Thanks..." Tsuyu mumbled. Her heart was still thumping. While she was up there, all her focus was on Ochako, and now she realized that she'd just gotten up to sing in front of her whole class.
But it hadn't been as bad as she feared. After all, she had been at Ochako's side.
She stole a glance at the other girl, but Ochako was preoccupied with watching the next singer. Tsuyu clenched her hands around the pillow. Ochako was always so confident and cheerful. She never knew how the other girl brought herself to get up in front of everyone. It was one of the things she admired and loved most about her.
A few more songs were sung; Mina and Jirou sang You're the One That I Want, and someone convinced Todoroki to sing Let it Go. Then, Kirishima got up again. He tapped the microphone, a grin on his face.
"This song is dedicated to Tsuyu and Ochako!" He yelled into the microphone, and both girls jumped, having started to doze off as the night dragged on. Ochako's head had been resting on Tsuyu's shoulder, but at the sound of their names, she jolted upright. Tsuyu missed the warmth of Ochako's head against hers, but she found reassurance in Ochako's hand still clutched around her own, and she frowned as she wondered what Kirishima had planned for them.
Music started to play as Kirishima started the song he'd chosen for them, and Ochako frowned.
"Oh no."
"Ochako, what is it?" Tsuyu tilted her head.
"Kirishima!" Ochako tried to lunge at him, but Iida grabbed her arm before she could.
"I'm sorry, Ochako, but Midoriya said not to interfere."
"What are you talking about?" Ochako demanded as Mina latched onto her other arm with a grin.
“There you see her, sitting there across the way," Kirishima sang. Tsuyu's eyes widened as she recognized the song. The redhead continued to sing, Kaminari and Sero jumping up from the chair they shared and joining in as well.
“Yes, you want her. Look at her you know you do. It's possible she wants you too. There's one way to ask her." Now Tooru, Ojiro, Tokoyami, Shouji and even Bakugou of all people - although he seemed to be mumbling the lyrics - had joined in.
"It don't take a word, not a single word. Go on and kiss the girl."
Tsuyu covered her face in the pillow, and Ochako had started floating, hands shielding her face.
"Sha la la la la la my oh my looks like the girl's too shy, ain't gonna kiss the girl." The whole class erupted into song. “Sha la la la la la ain't that sad, it's a shame, too bad. You're gonna miss the girl."
"Kirishima, I'm never telling you about my crush again!"
"Crush?" Tsuyu tilted her head, and Ochako flushed.
"I-I mean-" She stammered, falling onto the couch as her quirk wore off all of a sudden.
"Oh please, the whole class knows you too are together." Bakugou scoffed.
"Like you and Kirishima." Kaminari teased earning a shove from Bakugou.
"Together?" Ochako squeaked, and Tsuyu's head whirled. It was true she had a crush on Ochako. She loved the other girl's company, and she'd even told Shouji, Tokoyami, Midoriya and Kirishima this since aside from Ochako herself, they were the four she was closest to. Despite her huge crush, she was too scared to ask the other girl out and risk ruining their friendship. Because there was no way Ochako liked her back. But now...
Kirishima just kept singing once the instrumental part ended, seemingly unaffected by Kaminari's comment and smiling warmly at Ochako and Tsuyu. The rest of the class joined back in soon as they realized the vocals had started again. Tsuyu felt her cheeks heating up as realization sunk in at what Ochako had said. Ochako liked her. Ochako had a crush on her.
And she had a crush on Ochako.
She never thought that Ochako might have those feelings as well. Never could bring herself to imagine it.
But Ochako just admitted that she had a crush on her.
"Go on and kiss the girl!" The whole class shouted as the song ended. Ochako finally mustered up the courage to look at Tsuyu, her eyes wide and face flushed.
"Tsuyu, I-"
"I like you, too." Tsuyu admitted, barely aware of anyone around her, only looking at Ochako. She flicked her tongue, averting her eyes to the pillow she still held. "I didn't know if you, that is," Tsuyu's eyes widened as Ochako leaned in and kissed her on the cheek before scooting back, flustered, her arms waving in the air.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Ochako shook her head, and Tsuyu grabbed her hands. Both girls blushed, and somewhere in the background Tsuyu heard someone aww and someone else hiss at them to shut up and stop ruining the moment.
"Ochako, I have a crush on you, too." Tsuyu said, finding the words to tell Ochako what she had to. "I've liked you for a while now. I just didn't know if you liked me that way."
"I've liked you for a while, too, Tsuyu!" Ochako exclaimed and squeezed her hands. "I was just afraid that you didn't like me that way either."
"You're welcome." Mina laughed, hand on her hip, breaking the moment between them. Ochako glared at the pink haired girl who raised her hands in surrender. "Even if you hadn't told me about your crush - which by the way I didn't tell anyone about, they all figured it out on their own or were told by one of you - it would have been obvious to me."
A chorus of agreement rose up from the class, and Ochako flushed.
"Was it that obvious?"
"Apparently to everyone but the two of you." Bakugou huffed.
"When Midoriya and I found out both of you guys had crushes on each other, we knew we had to help get you guys together." Kirishima explained and high-fived Midoriya. "And Mina and Kaminari kinda suspected too after seeing you guys during our karaoke sessions. And it kinda just grew the more people who joined. So we came up with a plan, because none of us could deal with you two so close to your happy ending but not willing to take the final step to get there."
Ochako looked at Tsuyu, scratching the back of her neck. Her brown eyes were filled with happiness and worry.
"I'm sorry for not telling you sooner."
"I wish I had as well. But I'm glad that you feel the same." Tsuyu said, squeezing Ochako's hands again. The class cheered, and just like that, the night of songs and fun continued.
Eventually Aizawa came in and shut down karaoke night reminding the kids they had a curfew. Ochako walked with Tsuyu back to her dorm. She paused outside Tsuyu's door.
"Well, I guess we're dating now?" She asked, then blushed. "I mean, if you want to."
"I'd love that." Tsuyu nodded. She hesitated for a moment, then placed a quick kiss on Ochako's lips. Both girls blushed, and then burst out into laughter, wide smiles on their faces. As the laughter died down, Tsuyu gave Ochako a warm smile before opening the door to her dorm.
"Good night, Ochako."
"Good night, Tsuyu."

Wonder Woman
Ok, so I saw this yesterday, and I liked it, and I thought it was a good movie, but I felt it was weighed down by the necessity of tying it into the DC continuity, and I found it philosophically unsatisfying in certain particular, idiosyncratic ways.
As a movie and an Action Movie I thought it did a great job. All the performances were excellent. The lack of male-gaziness, the placing of a guy in the traditional love-interest role, the allowance of said love-interest to be a full and complex character which so few conventional action movies with conventional male directors is willing to afford to women characters and actors, was Wonderful.
I could have done without the frame story. I understand why they did it, but it detracted from the film, i think, and they could have made it much smaller and accomplished the same thing. It could have been as easy as having the frame be a question from Bruce at a party, or Diana seeing the picture in her house or at work and remember. Or heck, have no frame at the start and fade from her looking at the picture on the memorial to her looking at the picture in her hand or on the wall or in a museum or something in the present.
I wanted MORE Movie. Yes, I realize it was almost 2 1/2 hours long, but it felt rushed to me; like they didn’t have much time establish the setting, background, and supporting characters in. There were a lot of good ideas there: the motley, dispossessed nature of Steve’s team being a implicit example of how destructive war is; Charlie’s PTSD; the revelation of the horrors behind Steve’s American optimism, but none of these felt like they were given the time they needed, or the development they deserved.
Every action sequence in the movie was in the trailers. This is Bad, and I kinda feel like it’ll alienate those fans who came to the it as an actiony summer blockbuster, though idk how big a sector of the audience that’ll be.
I’d have liked a bigger time-frame for the plot. Excepting the backstory section, the whole movie takes place in, like, a week or two at most. You see Diana go to sleep three times, so it’s possible it all happens in three days.
I don’t think you needed the McGuffin of the gas, and I’d have preferred a full-war time-frame, akin to First Avenger. Diana’s motivation is to find and defeat Ares, afterall, so the war in itself, its scope, and its world-wide, apocalyptic tones, would have been enough to draw her out through her desire for adventure and sense of obligation.
Pitch: Steve crashes, she learns about the war, she decides Ares is behind it and goes to find and defeat him, she confronts the cabinet/high command/whatever to offer her aid, being raging sexists they laugh her out of there, enraged she goes to the front and proves her worth ala the village sequence, now she’s a national figure and command HAS to use her but they use her in ways that keep her out of the main action and away from where the can end the war quickly, through all this she comes to see and learn the nature of war, of humanity, that her allies aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, how hopeless and stupid and wasteful The Great War was, and starts to question her OWN joy in and desire for violence, and what that says about who she is, who humans are, Who/What “Ares” is, and what it means to be good and just. And then you can do your ending, which I’ll get to later.
More could have been done with Etta.
The unashamed inclusion of dysfluency/fillers in the dialogue, both in response to Diana ‘s not-so-mere Presence and just for their own sake, was something I deeply appreciated.
The Romance stuff was Wonderful, and Good, and Pure. I Love that they did the “sex scene” with a simple room walk in and jump cut to their lighted window during the night. I think it could have been better though :| I am going to write-up how I think it could have been better, and when I do I will link it here :| :| Though I might wait until I can rewatch it online so I can make sure I get the dialogue right and everything right.
I agree with @purified-zone that including the Ares bit, and the way they did it, undercuts the really excellent and interesting Existential and Humanitarian message the film had been building up until then, only to replace it with a deeply unsatisfying, poorly done, and confusing Idealist ending that somehow manages to feel both enormously tacked on, utterly out of the blue, and unnecessary and clumsily foreshadowed for much of the movie. I mean, it wasn’t even much of a twist I was like “that dude is totally Ares because the movie so much wants us to believe it’s the other guy and he’s set up in opposition to him” the minute I saw him. I have more idiosyncratic Opinions about this bit, which I’ll get to below.
The Ares effects were really badly done ohmygods X| X| X|
I don’t like how the death of Steve was done, though I don’t really mind him dying in the movie. A WWI movie that doesn’t feature the protagonist and audience losing their dear friends is a bad WWI movie, and the more needless, horrible, and senseless those deaths are the more accurate the movie will be. Every WWI movie should be an anti-war movie.
IDIOSYNCRASIES
I felt the visual symbolism was confused in a few places. Like: you have a bit where Diana, through the power of Friendship, destroys the belltower(an architectural bit that often includes a crucifix) of a church to save a village, because a German sniper is sheltering in it. Then she stands above them all, in the ruins of said belltower, framed by clouds and shining golden light, and is cheered as a hero. That’s a pretty pro-pagan, or at the very least anti-church/clerical, image religious-politics wise. But then you have her killing Ares by floating into the sky, in the crucifixion pose(was she backlit here? I forget) and shooting a beam of pure white light(ning?) out of her chest at him. Pretty unabashed(and action-movie-conventional) Christian symbolism there. Then you have the obvious parallels the back story draws between the Abrahimic God and Zeus, and the “Fall” of Ares and the “Fall” of Lucifer. So the way the movie uses religious imagery is all over the place, and it didn’t come off to me as being meant in a positive and syncretic way, so it was just confused.
And why make the Olympians all dead in the first place? That’s such a dumb and utterly pointless thing to do. You can explain why they exist and do nothing to stop evil in the world as simply as having Hippolyta tell Diana that, after seeing the devastation and anguish caused by Ares and their necessary war against him to stop his destruction, the Gods swore to never directly interfere in the mortal world again. It’s literally that simple, and that would even leave open the possibility of indirect influence and “help” given to Diana by the Gods.
Ok so about the ending. One where there was no Ares would have probably been the best, and played better into the monologue Diana has at the beginning of the film. I think, if they really wanted to though, they could have included Ares in a way that didn’t undermine the movie’s message about existentialism and the protective lies Hippolyta had told Diana growing up.
Like, gods aren’t just beings, they’re ideas personified. They kind of play with this idea in the movie by having Ares “influence” humans towards self-destruction, but they could have done a better job with it. Ares’ motivation could have been sincere but mistaken. As a god of war, anytime and place he would have been able to manifest in the mortal world would have been one of conflict and destruction; simply by being around people, he would have encouraged their violent and impetuous traits. He would have seen, due to his nature, the worst in Humanity. From that perspective, it’d have been no surprise that he held them in the low opinion he did. Zeus tries to explain this to him, he won’t understand(no one ever accused Ares of ebing smart), and that misunderstanding is what leads to the first god-war, his weakening, and his banishment to the mortal realm.
So the conflict between Ares and Diana would be a rehashing of this -him being unable to see the truth of humanity and himself, her trying to get him to see it through the example of her own experiences- and that would have allowed the godly showdown at the end without undermining the existentialism message, and indeed could easily play into it by involving Ares’ own agency, choices, and beliefs in the film’s resolution(which would easily allow an ending without Steve’s Captain America esque death).
I also think playing that “showdown” as a wholly physical one was a mistake. Like, you could have had that be a conceptual battle -Diana and Ares fighting as their divine selves in, essentially, human brainspace- that resolves with Diana “winning” the argument, and is mirrored by Steve or Sameer talking the people at the base out of gassing the front and destroying the armistice; resolving the problem in the real world without violence. You would have Diana’s fight with the God of War be a manifestation of Steve or Sameer’s rhetorical “fight” with the desire for conflict that god represents in the real world, and have in genuinely be a fight for peace, through the methods of peace. I doubt that’d have much connection at all to the Wonder Woman of the comic books, but it’s an ending I would have Dug to see done, and it would have done something genuinely interesting with the whole “god” concept, rather than just having gods be really tough and magical humans.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Eleanor.’ Her mother’s harsh whisper in her ear and the tight tug she gave to her arm pulled Eleanor out of her thoughts, blinking quickly to bring herself back into the room. She turned to her mother and realised her crouched stand as she bowed before her brother and hurried to do the same, lowering her head respectfully as she felt all eyes in the room on her. When she looked up a few moments later, she noticed her brother giving her a fond smirk, shaking his head lightly at her misdemeanour before his attention was drawn by the man stood before him.
‘I name pronounce you Liam Benjamin Henstridge King of Great Britain.’
Eleanor felt her eyes go wide, not believing the ceremony was over. Was she really so distracted by her own thoughts that she’d zoned out for the whole thing? Guilt immediately washed over her, but when her brother turned to offer her one of his signature dazzling smiles as the crown was placed gently upon his head, that was instantly replaced with immense pride. She felt her heart swell with it, a warm spreading throughout her body as she beamed back at him, feeling the sting of happy tears in her eyes.
As she watched her brother begin walking down the aisle in the centre of the room, orb and sceptre in his hands, she felt herself bowing her head again, but this time it was not out of obligation but out of the pure and utter respect she had for her brother. She knew that he was going to make a fantastic king. One is kind and fair, who puts the needs of the country before that of his own greed and desires. A King who the country could finally be proud of and look to for support and encouragement again. A King who her father would be proud to have sitting on what was once his throne.
As Eleanor and her mother moved to begin following her brother out of the room, she noticed the smiles accompanying the faces of those present for the service, and she hoped her brother had noticed them too.
She felt as if she was walking on air as she followed her brother slowly to the Palace balcony, stopping before the doors as they waited for the go ahead to step outside.
‘I’m so proud of you son,’ her mother told Liam, stepping forward to press a kiss to his cheek as he smiled back at them.
‘Me too,’ Lenny told him sincerely, feeling the tears choking in her throat, ‘and dad would be too.’ As she moved forward to wrap her brother in a strong and loving hug she felt him awkwardly try to wrap his arms around her, struggling with his regalia.
‘Here take these from me will you,’ he instructed one of the staff members surrounding them, chuckling at their look of bewildered shock. ‘There’s no need for them, it’s too formal. I think the crown is more than enough don’t you?’ he asked.
‘Yes, your majesty,’ the girl replied, a smile brightening her face as she tried not to laugh, ‘and may I be the first to wish you a healthy and successful rule. I think our country needs a king like you.’
Liam was shocked at her heartfelt words for a moment before he quickly thanked her as she began her retreat, surrounding by a dozen staff members making sure the coronation items were carefully returned to their rightful place.
‘Son, they’re ready for you,’ Helena called, moving again to take her place slightly behind him as the grand wooden doors before them began to open and he moved forward ready to greet what was now his country.
The whole thing felt surreal as Eleanor waved at the crowds before them, hundreds of people reading to greet them with cheers and flags. She could sense her brother’s amazement as he stood beside her and felt her heart sore again for him.
But, as they returned inside a while later, being ushered into another room to await the press reception which was about to occur before a grand dinner was served, Eleanor’s mind began to wander again.
The words which she had finally managed to ignore were echoing around her head again, sending her pulse rate soaring and making her heart flutter inside her chest.
I love you.
She knew without a doubt that Jasper meant them. That he at least believed that he was speaking the truth, but Eleanor wasn’t sure what to make of them. She couldn’t deny to herself that they had sparked something within her, a desire to repeat them so powerful that she had almost done just that. But where had that come from? Jasper had hurt her so much before and yet here she was about to give her heart away to someone who had the power to shatter it beyond repair. She knew that she trusted him now, but love him? She wasn’t sure where her feeling lie and she was scared at just how deep they ran.
She didn’t realise how badly she was shaking, her breath coming in short, sharp gasps, until she felt her mother’s hand on her arm again.
‘Eleanor, are you alright?’ her mother asked, her tone surprisingly gentle. ‘I’m sorry, I need a minute,’ she replied quietly, moving forward to try and get out of her mother’s grip.
‘But Eleanor the press are-‘ her mother began before Eleanor interrupted her.
‘It’s Liam they want to speak to, not me,’ Eleanor replied, ‘I’ll be back soon I promise.’
Her mother must have seen something in her eyes as she nodded slightly before releasing her hold on her. Eleanor gave her a weak smile before she turned and practically bolted from the room. She was so focused on getting out of there that she didn’t notice the concerned looks she received from Jasper, who immediately left this station across the room to follow her out.
When she finally burst through the doors of her bedroom she could feel a cold sweat across her body, her vision swimming as she tried desperately to control her breathing. Sitting down heavily on the edge of her bed she squeezed her eyes shut. As those words began to repeat in her head again she actually found herself relaxing, Jasper’s deep tone soothing her for a moment.
But then she thought about what that meant and again she was struck by the immense power he had over her. How he could be the one to control her mood so easily.
‘Eleanor?’ she suddenly heard his voice again, but this time laced with worry, and her eyes flew open to see him stood before her, although clearly keeping his distance.
Eleanor swallowed quickly, running a hand through her hair to tame her curls. She was unable to look him in the eye as he assessed her, his gaze shining with concern.
‘I’m sorry,’ he told her quietly, running his hands together anxiously in front of him in a way she had never seen before.
At that she finally moved her eyes up to meet his, confused at his apology. ‘This is about what I said isn’t it?’ he asked, reading her easily. When she didn’t reply he continued, taking a tiny step closer towards her. ‘I’m so sorry Eleanor, it just sort of came out. I didn’t mean to tell you like that.’
Eleanor felt her eyebrows furrow slightly, ‘but you wanted to tell me?’
‘Eventually yes, of course. I just, well I didn’t want you to react…’ he paused for a moment, his face wincing as he continued, ‘well, like this I suppose.’
At that Eleanor felt her face blush, partly in embarrassment at the way she was acting, and partly because Jasper had just admitted that he had thought about this before. Clearly his feelings hadn’t come as quite a shock as they had done for her.
‘Eleanor, I’m sorry if I have freaked you out, but I guess I just couldn’t hold it in anymore. I love you, Princess, more than I ever thought it was possible to love anyone. I understand that that may scare you, but I can assure you no one is more scared than me right now,’ Jasper told her, his voice so quite it was almost a whisper.
‘Why are you scared?’ Eleanor asked in confusion. Surely it was Eleanor who was more scared? Scared of the safety of her badly battered and bruised heart. Jasper let out a little disbelieving laugh before he moved closer to her again, this time stopping just a foot away from the edge of the bed. ‘You really don’t realise, do you?’ he asked in disbelief before he continued. ‘Eleanor, you are everything to me. I love you and I would do absolutely anything to keep you safe and make you happy. Anything. It terrifies me that my entire happiness rests completely with you, but I can do absolutely nothing to change that. I love the bones of you and I can’t imagine my life without you in it. Do you not realise that you have the power to absolutely destroy my entire world?’
‘I,’ Eleanor began, words escaping her as she was left simply staring at Jasper, her mouth open. When she felt tears pricking at her eyes again she had no choice to let them fall, her heart thundering in her chest at Jasper’s revelation. That was the most honest, heartfelt confession she had ever heard from him and she could not believe it.
‘No baby, please don’t cry,’ Jasper told her gently, reaching forward to catch a tear that was making its way down her cheek. ‘I’m sorry, I probably shouldn’t have said all that,’ he added after a few minutes of silence, his eyes now shining with tears too. ‘I’m not expecting you to do anything. Well, I’m half expecting you to bolt out of this room any second and never want to see me again,’ he tried to joke, failing miserably.
‘I could never do that,’ Eleanor whispered. ‘I wouldn’t be able to cope ever seeing you again.’
Jasper did finally smile at that, a small upturning of his lips. It may not have been much, but at least it meant he perhaps hadn’t quite scared her away, or had her running for the hills. He knew it was a lot to take in, it had taken him a while to come to terms with his feelings himself, but he hated the look of pain that was covering Eleanor’s face.
Before he had a chance to say anything else there was a firm knock on the door behind him and he watched Eleanor quickly scrub away her tears as she desperately tried to cover all her emotions. She succeeded, as when she moved to see who had just stepped into her room, her face was a mask of dignity and composure, only offset by the red rims surrounding her eyes.
‘Your Highness, your mother is requesting your presence for the official photographs,’ the guard told her.
‘Of course, I will just be a few minutes while I freshen up,’ she replied steadily, her eyes only moving to briefly meet Jasper’s before she turned away, moving towards her vanity to cover up the tear tracks very faintly visible down her cheeks.
When the guard remained stood inside her bedroom, clearly waiting to take Eleanor to wherever she needed to be, Jasper took a large breath in, adopting his most professional voice. ‘I apologise if what I have said has upset you, Your Highness and I promise I will do whatever you feel is best moving forward and I shall give you some time to think about what that may be. You know where to find me when you’ve reached a decision.’ With that, Jasper gave her back one more glance before he turned to leave, knowing it was space which she needed now.
‘Jasper, I,’ she heard him call out to her, halting him halfway across her room. When he turned to meet her gaze, he once again saw the fear and confusion in her beautiful eyes. Before she had the chance to say anything she might regret, or more likely the rejection which Jasper’s heart was not ready to hear, he spoke again before making his exit from the room with his shoulders back to conceal the weakness he felt inside.
‘I am sure you will look stunning as always, your Highness.’
