Holy FUCK I was not prepared for this.
As soon as I saw the trailer posted on Instagram, I grabbed my laptop and casted the trailer on the TV and stood in front of the TV like an old asian man; hands behind the back, spine bent, feet planted shoulder width apart.
Cannot believe it's finally here and I've got a lot of thoughts that I'm going to put under the cut because holy shit, this trailer hit me like a brick.

5 seasons. so many characters. so many losses. we have never seen this much emotion from anyone. i can hardly joke right now but he really embodied "don't you just wanna go apeshit?" i consume so much fucking media and this is new even for me. callum has never even had a temper. through all of this--getting kidnapped, abused, mentally and physically, seeing what his friends are going through--he hasn't broke. and then, seeing his biggest fear, the thing he's been plagued with for years, the thing we've seen him throw away his life to prevent, comes true, and he loses it. the scream, grunt & inhale, the speed, the aggression, the fucking expression. it's not hard to see how what happened next happened, i'm surprised he didn't do worse.

every threat or demand finnegrin has made and callum has done nothing but scour. he has been as strong as anyone can be. and all of a sudden here he is crying out for mercy, pleading, bargaining, the lowest we've ever seen him. it hurts, but finnegrin was right.

his defeat. we know this is because of... literally everything he has ever stood for being demolished. but his personal moral catastrophe aside, don't you find it interesting how he did all of that to keep rayla safe, and yet he never once went to her? i made another post abt this but i'm saying it again: rayla told him not to. and she believed in him. she's safe, but i don't think he thought he really saved her. he doesn't think he deserves anything she's giving him. he refuses to indulge in her, he refuses to confide in her, he refuses to seek her out. but he just saved her life. but that's not enough. not enough to resolve this within himself, and apparently not enough for the girl who's life he has saved twice now, who has stuck by him for years, who has dedicated everything to him, to be able to be okay with it. and he just kind of... accepts it. he doesn't beg for forgiveness, that being said he doesn't tell her either. this may seem like he's protecting himself, that he really just doesn't want to lose her, that he doesn't want to face this at all, but maybe it's him not wanting to disappoint her. yknow i really hate to be one of those people who ignores how basically all of callum's character surrounds his own internal conflict in favor of rayllum fan service, but fuck it's hard no to sometimes. he wants to be her hero, but he isn't; not to himself, anyway. this would always be the case. and yet... he did it all anyway. if that isn't unconditional, i'm jumping off a bridge.

Immediately after I finished reading the CS chapter the tears came all at once, streaming down my face and leaving wet streaks down both of my cheeks. It is hard to make me cry like that. I’m floored, just completely stunned.
I’m soooo happy you gave us a chapter like this, giving the characters and the reader a safe space to digest and get some questions answered. It was also much needed after the action filled chapters before it and it’s a nice resting stop before the horrors waiting before us.

Thoughts on Wonderland UK:
TL;DR: Awful
Longer version:
I don’t like the fact that Alice and Jack find Ellie/Chloe immediately when they get to Wonderland. Like no offense makes no sense like what does Alice have to do??? Cause in earlier productions her WHOLE THING was to find Chloe. And even on Broadway with her goal of finding Chloe was put in Act 2, she still wanted to go back home mainly for Chloe. So now that she has Ellie what does she do???
GATO IS SO EWWWWW!!! NOT ONLY DID THEY JUST ERASE HIS LATINIDAD AND MADE HIM WHITE BUT ALSO HES SO OBNOXIOUS LIKE THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST CHESHIRE IN EXISTENCE!! AND THE FACT THAT THEY REPLACED GO WITH THE FLOW WITH SUCH A LAME SONG LIKE BOOOOOOO GET OFF THE STAGE
I feel there’s some sort of malice with how they portray Cheshire. While Cheshire and in turn Gato aren’t autistic in canon, I do think that they’re coded very highly as such even if unintentionally. So them portraying Cheshire as an idiot feels really ableist. Like they saw Gato, who was a silly man but still incredibly smart and then in response, they made it so their version of him was an idiot to laugh at. Like Oh man look at this guy look at how strange he is guys!! Just as an autistic man, it just feels as if they’re mocking us idk how to explain it
The transition to songs is soooooo bad from One Knight and onwards
I don’t like how they used the Looking Glass. Like the Looking Glass has never changed people. When Alice went through the looking glass she didn’t change, she was still Alice throughout the entire story
Everyone is so obnoxious. How they mischaracterize everyone is AAAAAAAAAAAAA

Gato and Caterpillar already had the issue with feeling as if they didn’t contribute much to the plot and now they’re just ensemble characters. So even with their ONE character of color left, they basically make him useless. Yes show you have totally convinced me that you aren’t racist as shit /s
They butchered the SHIT out of Morris and Hatter’s dynamic. Like they’re finally together romantically but at what cost
I hate that Rabbit sings I Am My Own Invention. It makes no sense to Rabbit from Wonderland. Like if you didn’t want to include Lewis Carroll(which I don’t mind I don’t like him being in the show) then GATO IS RIGHT FUCKING THERE

Finding Wonderland makes no sense cause for me the reason why that song works cause of her friends back in Wonderland. Like those were her imaginary friends who loved her for who she was and were there for her, and helped her find not only her daughter but herself. And in this musical, nobody feels like her friend. Nobody feels like home so why would Alice sing about how finding Wonderland is like going home again???? THAT MAKES NO SENSE
This version doesn’t have heart. Like at all
It also goes down the mistake of characterizing so many of the Wonderlandians as “crazzyyyyy” to not make them interesting characters
So yeah for people who think that if Wonderland comes back for a revival that should use the plot for this production, I just have one thing to say to you: SUCK MY DICK AND DIE

Ok so after gasping like a character in Spanish telenovela, making 5 rounds around my house and closing and opening this ask a 100 times

And Big ignores his message, because it still hurts so much and Chan must be hurting too, he knows but it's for his own good and he tries to ignore how it feels like he torn his own heart out of his chest and tries to go on ignoring the pain.
But then Chan shows up next to his house? And Big still tries to leave, to run away and he's unable to meet Chan's gaze, and Chan shouts (mind you, he never raised his voice at Big) that Big owns him this. That after everything that happened, how he hurt him, Chan deserves some explanation.
And Big looks up, and the moment their eyes meet, he breaks down completely, he sobs so hard he can't form words. Chan sees some people with a camera far away, and he gives up and wants to walk away, but Big grabs his arm and says okay, and they go inside his house.
(no matter what will happen inside of it, THIS sort of shit can't be resolved with just one talk, so they will still be figuring a lot of things out, while the media are going crazy over photos of two of them going to Big's apartment)
