even at our worst, we know we'll still be okay (luke castellan x apollo fem! reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Where Percy's insistent pestering forces Luke to rethink on his possibly not platonic feelings for you, his best friend, and Percy's questions are answered for him with Luke's reaction to you being heavily injured on your return from your quest.
pairing: luke castellan x apollo fem! reader
a/n: i'm actually in love with this, maybe it's just the friends-to-lovers in me (where a love confession happens because one of them was near death's door-) but man.. also, i love including percy so much he's such a kid.

"Face it, man. You're whipped."
Percy watched Luke choke on his water, coughing as he tried to swallow past the sudden accusation. Wiping at the excess that dripped past his chin, Luke raised a brow at Percy.
"Whipped? For who?" Luke questioned, eyes averting and staring straight ahead, beyond the training grounds towards the meadows in the distance, seemingly searching for something or just doing a poor job at avoiding Percy’s unimpressed stare.
“I’m not blind, as much as Annabeth claims, to this...love stuff.” Percy huffed, half in exasperation and half in exhaustion as he leaned forward using his sword to balance himself. “You’ve been depressed ever since she left for her quest.”
Luke doesn’t need to hear your name to know who Percy was referring to. It’s been weeks since you were chosen by your father, Apollo, to descend on some mighty quest to fetch back his lyre that had been stolen. It wasn’t supposed to be a dangerous quest, but Luke had felt his gut sinking when he first heard the news from you.
“Why does he need to send you out there, where you could possibly be tracked down by monsters to get back a musical instrument of all things?” Luke snapped, exasperated as he runs his fingers through his curls, pacing back and forth in the Hermes Cabin, while you laid on his mattress looking undeniably calmer than he was.
“Luke, my dad won’t purposely send me on some death trap. I'll be fine.” You tried to reassure him, waiting for him to calm down in his pacing before you extended your hands in his direction right as he turned to make another round through the cabin for the seventh time. “Hey, come here.” You gestured. “Sit with me.”
He hesitated, stopping in his tracks as he finally took the time to look at you, noting your concerned expression at him. As if you weren’t about to descend on some ridiculous quest to god knows where all because your father couldn’t pluck up the effort to collect the instrument himself.
The longer your hands stayed outstretched for him, the more his anger and frustration dissolved into the overwhelming need to be near you. One second, he’s standing and the next, he’s laying in bed with you, your arms wrapped around him to stabilise him even though he should be the stronger one. The one to look out for you.
Laying his head on your shoulder as he wrapped one of his fingers around your hair, curling it in his palms, he spoke again in a soft whisper only for you to hear. “I’m worried.”
“I know.” You responded, your hands tracing at the curve of his shoulder, stopping at his collarbone, before your finger moved to tilt his face by the chin to look at you. “You trust me, right?” You ask, knowing his answer but wanting to hear the reassurance all the same.
“Course' I do.” He replied immediately, his eyes intense as he made eye contact with you. That was without question. You could ask him to walk into blazing flames, and he'd trust you would ask for good reason.
“Then you can trust that I’ll make it back alive.”
“Alive can mean lots of things.” He muttered, his eyes growing distant, the ghost of blood and a stinging burn running down the half of his face appearing uninvited in his mind.
“I’ll make it back alive and unharmed.” You reiterated, a knowing look in your eyes as you unconsciously traced at his scar, leaving warmth where it resides, making him shiver instinctively. “It’s a promise, Luke.”
He stayed silent, before slowly moving his hand to cup yours that rested over his scar. “I’m counting on it, sunshine.”
That promise rested over Luke’s conscience, gnawing at the back of his heels, chasing him daily from the early hours as he forced himself not to break over the stress and anxiety before putting on his golden boy facade, to pretend that he wasn't constantly distracted and nauseous over the thought of something happening to you without him being there to protect you.
He would've snuck out of camp if he could, just to find you, but Chiron had been tight-lipped on your destination, his all-knowing gaze piercing right through Luke when he had tried to nonchalantly ask about your whereabouts.
"I wish I could help you, Luke." Chiron had told Luke a few days after you had gone. "However, Apollo's request was clear. Only she shall take on this quest. No one else." The pin-point gaze Chiron had locked onto Luke made it clear he was talking about him.
"I am not whipped." Luke denied. "She's my friend. Like how you're my friend."
"I don't think your friendship with her is normal though." Percy fired back quickly, sipping on his own water as if he didn't casually demolish the older boy. "I swear I caught you bringing her back after curfew to your cabin, a few times in fact."
Luke felt his cheeks flush at Percy's sudden interrogation, smashing facts after facts on an early Tuesday morning. "I've been having.. nightmares lately. She's the only one who keeps them away." He didn't know why he felt like he had to explain himself to the kid, but the longer his friendship with you went under fire, the faster he wanted to get out of this conversation.
"You don't think that's something you should think deeper about?" Percy muttered with a shrug.
Luke is left speechless, his mind short-cutting at the sudden implication of.. him feeling something more for you? His most recent memories flashed through his mind. You tucked under his blanket as you laid beside him for the last night before your quest, a sleepy smile etched on your lips before you whispered him goodnight and he pulled you into his chest so he could feel your heart beating against his to push away any tricks currently playing on his mind, bringing light to how you're the only person he believes could calm him down and bring him peace-
"She's my best friend." Luke replied, more to himself than to Percy. "I'm just worried for her. A quest like that shouldn't take so long, and I keep imagining-"
He stopped in his tracks, not wanting to say his fears out in the open in fear that his words would jinx it, but Percy knew where he was getting at. Percy inched closer to Luke, moving to pat him awkwardly on the back in an effort to comfort him. "It's normal to be worried. From what I heard from Annabeth, you two are really close. I didn't have much conversations with her before she left, but she seems brave, and smart too. I have no doubts she'll make it back. If she's half as good as you, there's no way she wouldn't."
Luke felt a real smile crossing his face, the corners of his lips quirked up at Percy's words. "She's not half as good- she is better than me." He turned to look at Percy, that shine in his eyes noticeable as he talked about you. "Don't let her hear that when she gets back though, she'll talk my ear off for ages."
Percy returned his own smile, elated to see Luke have some improvement in his mood, proof being the first genuine smile Percy's seen in weeks coming from him.
"So.. do you want to stop for today?" Percy attempted with a casual tone.
"Why? Backing out already?" Luke teased, a smirk playing on his lips as he inched towards the kid jokingly with his sword raised.
"No!" Percy denied frantically. "I swear I'm not using the sympathy card as an excuse to get out of training-"
The sounds of a horn cut off his words, groaning across the camp, reaching the training grounds in record time. Luke felt his heart palpitate, nearly crashing into his rib cage.
He barely had time to think, yelling to Percy with urgency flying off his tongue. "Catch you later, Perce!" Then, he was off, his legs carrying him up the hills and back towards the camp entrance.
He heard Percy yell his name in confusion, but he could apologise later for his sudden departure.
You had come back to him.
The journey seemed too long, his shoes scrambling for ground, barely scraping the dirt as he ran towards the front of camp. He didn't know what to expect, a celebration with cheers from the other campers on your arrival, a glimpse of your face with that smile he loves. What he didn't expect was the silence as he came towards a slow jog before ultimately stopping at what seemed to be a crowd gathering around something- or someone.
He pushed his way through, barely making the effort to apologise over the thought of seeing you. His eyes finally caught onto what the onlookers were staring at, and his heart dropped.
You laid on the ground, passed out with what seemed to be dark, angry coils covering your skin, ranging from your neck to the outstretch of your back that was exposed from the gash in your shirt. That stupid lyre laid not too far from you, its golden strings ripped apart.
The sound that tore from his throat barely sounded like his voice, yelling out your name as he pushed through the final barrier in the crowd before reaching for you. He nearly made it before someone dragged him back, grabbing him by the shoulders and pushing him away.
The curses that left Luke's mouth would make anyone wince, and he had to resist the urge to punch whoever was holding him back as he twisted his head to face his repressor. "Chris! Get out of my way." Luke hissed, still trying to make his way to you, fury twisting in his gut as he couldn't fathom why no one's helped you yet.
"Calm down, Luke!" Chris pleaded, desperation in his eyes forcing Luke to falter. "I know you want to help her but you have to listen to me. Whatever attacked her left something contagious on her body. Someone already tried helping her but it spread to their skin too!"
Wait? While whatever was attacking your body seemed to grow more intense by the minute, as Luke's gaze locked onto your form and watched the sickening, black coils spread further and further up your neck.
"Rodriguez, does it look like I care if it spreads to me?" Luke spat out, giving his friend a final push. "If she dies, I won't ever forgive myself for standing on the sidelines. Let me go now."
The cold venom in his tone made his friend loosen his hold just enough for Luke to rip himself out of his arms to drop his knees beside you. He grabbed hold of your shoulder, which still had shreds of your shirt to prevent him from being stung by whatever was infecting you, but his other hand which grabbed hold of your back did not face the same fate. The coils snaked onto his palm, and he gritted his teeth at the burning sensation.
Just as he turned you around so he could lift you up, he heard the familiar sound of hooves stamping against the soil and he looked up to see Chiron approaching with a grim expression. No words needed to be said as Luke met eyes with the centaur, a mutual understanding as Luke wrapped his arms around your torso and legs.
He pushed through to help carry you up, barking orders for the crowd to part way as he made his way to the infirmary. The longer he held onto you, the more every bone in his body seemed to scream to let you go, but he only focused on every step it took to get you closer to help, his eyes unable to look away from the paleness of your skin, the blue to your lips.
It seemed unfit for a child of Apollo, a child of the sun, to be dull and lifeless. You looked dead, and if it wasn't for the faint drumming of your pulse he could sense from your wrist, he would've struck the name of your father with such unbridled hatred, Apollo himself would descend from the heavens to condemn him.
"Please." He begged, holding onto you tighter despite his body's cries not to. Begging to who, he did not know, but if any being could save you from the fate you did not deserve, and pass it to him instead, he would gladly offer his prayers and worship. If it meant saving you, he would take your pain and suffer it tenfold just to see you open your eyes again.
It took you five days to recover. The infirmary had been quarantined and no one save for Chiron and Will, the main healer from the Apollo cabin, was allowed in. In those five days, no one dared approach Luke, who seemed near death's door despite having received his own small dosage of ambrosia to heal the coils that had managed to sink into his skin. He had begged Chiron to let him visit you, but Chiron deemed him too unstable to be near you, your recovery process a fragile thing that required tentative hands and patience.
Waiting to see you was a torture not even he could have envisioned for himself. He had been torn apart at the seams, of his belief in the gods and the scars that were immortalized onto his body. He had lived through days of water and nothing but false hope, hiding from monsters and other horrors before he made it to camp, arriving as a scrawny boy with eyes having witnessed events no kid his age should have to go through. Yet, no pain he had experienced could compare to his fears of losing you. If he-
He couldn't think of it without wanting to puke, but if he lost you somehow, he would lose his faith in this world. There would be no one to hold him back, no you, to stop him from letting go of the world that failed him and tearing it down.
It didn't help that in those five days, he had dreams. Of a different world, of salvation. A dark, ancient voice called to him, older than time, with whispers of promised glory and revenge. There was no you, none of your soothing touches or voice to wake him. In those five days, his strength faltered and he made a deal.
On the sixth day, he was woken frantically by a shake on the shoulder from his sleep. He roused awake, dizzy and still-half asleep to see Chris talking to him in rushed incoherent words.
"Awake- She's awake, sleepy-head!"
Luke was half-dressed, still fighting off sleep with aggressive rubbing to his eyes as he tugged on his t-shirt, rushing towards the infirmary with Chris hot on his heels.
He burst through the front door, holding his breath when he finally saw you, propped up on two pillows talking to Will. Tears pricked in the corners of his eyes, blurring his vision as he rushed over to you.
You turned to him then, just in time to see him blink his tears away. "Luke." You called to him softly, and time seemed to stop just for the two of you, and he could only see you in his vision.
"Can you guys give us some privacy?" You asked politely, eyeing Will and Chris, but your eyes never drifted far before moving back to him.
"Of course." Will responded, quickly getting up from his chair towards the exit, dragging a confounded Chris with him with a tug on the back of his shirt. "Hey! I wanted to see her too-" "Give the two lovebirds some time alone, you idiot."
Luke inched closer to you, his heart beating so loudly in his eardrums he swears you could hear it too. You lifted your arms to him and he didn't waste time, taking you in his arms and embracing you so tight, and yet he felt he couldn't be close enough.
"You were dying. In my arms. I felt it when I carried you in here." He muttered into your shoulder, shaking as he finally let out the exhaustion and pain he had been feeling since the day you left.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." You apologised, rocking him back and forth as your voice croaked up. "All I thought of was you. When I fought against that beast, I kept repeating my promise to you. That I would come back to you. You saved me."
He shook his head, feeling his tears wet his cheeks as he pulled back to grab you by the chin, a gentle touch like he was afraid you would disappear if he couldn't see you talking to him, that your voice would be a hallucination he concocted. "I should've stopped you from going. I had a bad feeling since I heard about it. I should've protected you- prevented you from getting hurt in the first place-"
You stopped him with a kiss, desperate yet shy, before pulling away and pressing your forehead to his. "I love you, Luke. I was so scared I would never get to tell you and it would've been my biggest regret. I love you so much, Luke, and I'm sorry if this ruins anything between us but I can't hide it anymore-"
Luke cut you off the very same way you did, but with such intense hunger you gasped when he kissed you, sloppy and with even more desperation, tugging at your bottom lip and pulling you closer with his hand at nape of your neck. "I love you." He muttered through quick breaths. "I love you, it actually hurts because of how much I do." He admitted, grabbing your hand to place right above his heart, which is owned completely and only by you.
He leaned in once more, addicted to the taste of you, kissing you with one hand holding yours to his heart, the other pulling you close so that there was no space between the two of you. When he had to stop so you both could gasp for air, he pressed his forehead back to yours, the first smile stretching at his lips in days. "I never want to be apart from you ever again, you hear me, sunshine?"
You giggled at his words, nodding slightly. "Wouldn't dream of it."
Extra: Luke reappears with you the next day when you insisted on wanting to get out of the infirmary after being cooped up away from the sun for so long. ("You're such an Apollo kid." Luke teases, which you ignore with a roll of your eyes.) He's with you every step of the way, and now that your feelings are out for each other in the open, he doesn't hesitate to kiss you on the cheek or fawn over you without hiding his intensity.
When he makes eye contact with Percy over the room, the damn kid gives him a wink and a thumbs-up.
a/n: i want to expand so much more on this, with kronos taking advantage of luke's weak mind during your recovery and more, OMGGGGGGG. tell me if you guys want more pls and i'll make more parts. thank you for reading if you made it this far <3
update: I am officially making this into a series called ‘everything in between’. To those who want to follow more on their story, you can comment on whether you want to be added to the tag list for this series or check the masterlist!

In Every Life Time
Description: In every life time, you lost him. But in this one, each part of him you lost you find once more, staring back at you with a bit of each one you loved in each life time.
Tumblr media
Percy has had many nightmares ever since he was young, especially since coming to camp Half Blood and being claimed as a son of Poseidon.
But he never liked any other dreams like these ones.
Percy would lay in bed, drift off only to end up somewhere else. Somewhere familiar. Somewhere he liked and somewhere he wasn't in a rush to leave.
Unlike the others before, this was different, but the same all at once.
Percy sat in a field, it was dark out, but the fireflies in the air lit up the sky unlike the stars did.
And Percy was breath taken once more as he stared at the same Goddess he saw every night sitting under the same willow rree, dressed in a white and gold trimmed Greek styled dress.
This time, the Goddess didn't look very...Goddes-Like. She looked younger, the same he always sees her as, but this time she felt it. Like in this dream, she wasn't a Goddess. The very first fifteen years of her life.
Like she was normal, younger, an actual teenager relaxing under a willow tree.
A boy in similar Greek clothing held his head in her lap, smiling up at the Goddess as if she had hung the sun up herself, hung the stars and painted the sky right before him.
Percy knew that look. He saw it every time in glimpses shared between the woman and all of the ones before, every single one different but the same all at once.
He looked a bit just like every one of them.
The same nose as the wood nymph from three dreams ago he had, the same green eyes as the Olympian from six dreams ago he had, black hair like the boy who ran around with a much younger goddess he had, the first dream he had of her.
“I would like to stay here.” Percy could make out the paint words, knowing what the man would say even before he spoke.
He saw the goddess speak, and like before, saw a look of sadness in her eyes as she smoothed her hand over the man's wild and messy hair. Hair just like Percys.
“I…I would like that as well…but we can't.” The goddess said, an almost distant look in her eyes before the warrior took her hand, kissing the back of it softly with a sigh.
“Why? You always say that like you're one step ahead. Why can I not?”
“I- I do not know. But...You will find out soon enough.”
And before Percy knew it, the all too well love scene before him faded in battle cries, swords clanging together and shouts of war.
Percy was in the middle of a battlefield, Gods and Goddess's fighting side by side and some against one another, fires roaring all around, he couldn't make out many faces, the ash burning in his lungs as he coughed.
Only thing he could see were her tears. Her tears as she held a limp, and very much so, dead and familiar man in her lap, brushing her thumbs against his cheeks as she said a silent prayer, her forehead to his almost as if it could bring him back.
She didn't sob, but he could hear her almost silent whispers.
"We should have stayed under our tree. I'm so sorry, my love. Please...find me when you are ready."
And just like that, Percy woke up with the bed shaken as Tyson woke him up, dragging him out of bed, to breakfast, and along the way to Annabeth and Grover with the goat boy he called his best friend, almost tap dancing in what seemed to be joy.
“Percy! I- we got chosen!”
“...What?”
Percy didn't expect for Grover to go on a rant about how the upcoming war was brewing, like he didn't already know.
Annabeth even had to cut in as Grover ran out of breath, giving the boy a moment before he started up again.
“Olympus needs all the warriors they can get. And they chose us to find the Goddess of (Create something you like bc idk)!” Grover fanboyed.
“Who?” Percy asked, confused at his friend's behavior and having never heard of that one. He's heard of, and fought, many gods and goddesses, but he's sure that one would've stuck if he crossed that bridge.
“The Goddess of (you choose).” Annabeth re-stated. “She used to be a mortal, but was captured during a really, really bad war and since the ones who captured her were fighting the gods, they punished her with immortality until-”
Annabeth cut herself off.
“Until what?” Percy probed with a frown, not wanting anyone to withhold information from him anymore.
“Until something. Her story doesn't go on from that, the ones that took her never said where she was. Even after they were sent to the Underworld and punished, she's been missing ever since!” Grover finished, almost shaking Percy by the shoulders.
Percy finally got it.
“So- we have to find her?”
“Yeah! Just like when we found Pan- but this can't be like that. This time, she is alive!” Grover insisted.
“We don't know that.” Annabeth sighed.
“Yes, we do!” Grover wasn't living this down and wasn't letting Annabeth either. “I know it, and we are gonna find her!”
And that's how Percy was dragged along the state, searching the skies, the gardens, underground, in every mythical and every sacred place he could think of.
Until, finally, Grover has led them to a garden of lights. For a seemingly prison, Percy has to admit, it didn't look like it.
Deers laid in the grass, birds chirped to their heart's desire, animals frolicking in the grass, koi and any other fish you could name in a waterfall so clear you could see to the bottom that glowed in the light.
It almost looked real. So surreal Percy didn't expect it. Especially when he leaned a bit too close, and a fish jumped up and scared him, falling back into the lake with a groan and his butt soaked.
He heard Annabeth and Grover yelp, their feet clashing with the water as they ran down after him.
He groaned as Annabeth and Grover dragged him to stand up, he almost barely noticed as both his friends froze in the middle of helping him, and a breeze went just past him.
No, not past him. It seemed to go over his entire body, around his arms, legs, messing up his already wild and black hair, feeling it on his nose, cheeks, lips and his eyes.
“Percy…”
Percy could barely make out Grovers whisper, his friend catching Percy's attention barely.
Percy looked between Annabeth and Grover, confused before he looked to see they were staring at a willow tree. Or, more like under the Willow tree.
Percy could feel his breath taken once more like in his dreams, seeing the same girl from them looking right back at him with the same look on her face

Nico: *sits down arms crossed dramatically* I'm not happy.
Thalia: Okay, I'll bite. Why aren't you happy?
Nico: Percy's mom grounded me.
Jason: Can she do that?
Nico: *pouting* Apparently so.
Leo: She's not your guardian though so can't you just say no?
Nico: You want me to say "no" to the Sally Jackson? Um I'd like to live.
Annabeth: Yeah that woman is the most comforting force of nature to ever walk this earth. You don't just say no.
Leo: Really?
Thalia: You see, Percy, has the DNA of an all powerful absolutely amazing god. And Posiedon.....I guess.
Percy: *laughs* Accurate.
Will: Nico, how did she ground you though? It's not like you have a phone for her to take.
Nico: *pouts harder* She took my emotional support skull-
Will: I'm sorry you're WHAT?
Nico: And she won't let me go to McDonald's for two weeks.
Leo: She took away McDonald's????
Will: But what about the skull-????
Percy: To be fair he was using McDonald's to summon the dead.
Will: Nico!
Nico: It's not like I was doing it in the house!
Percy: And she probably would not have cared had you not done it to the point where you blacked out!
Will: Nico Di Angelo! I told you to stop over doing it!
Nico: I'm sorry it won't happen again.
Percy: *cough* bullshit *cough*
Nico: I'm serious! I really want my skull back....
Will: *flabbergasted* Why the fuck do you have a skull?
Nico: Don't worry! It's no one you know.
Will: That's still WORRYING!!!

A/N I tweaked your request a bit so the story flows more imo
“Faster,” I yelled at one of our newest campers. Y/N Jackson dropped her sword and ripped off her helmet, looking at me with fury in her eyes. I was a little afraid but mostly really attracted to her like this.
“Don’t fu-”
“Hey, we don’t curse,” I reminded her of the camp rules. “What with all the kids around.” Seeing her become even angrier made it so hard not to laugh. I was just glad that we weren’t near any bodies of water. When I had told her that her 12 year old brother was a better fighter than her at dinner, every glass of water rose up in the air she was so mad.
She just threw the sword down and stormed off. “Hey!” I yelled after her. “You’re not dismissed.” But she ignored me, continuing to storm off towards the beach. I felt a pang of guilt antagonizing her to the point that she left but I figured I shouldn’t chase after her if she was going to be around water. Plus, it was funny to see her get so mad.
I turned around the clean up the arena only to see Annabeth standing there looking unimpressed. “Why are you being so mean to her?” she asked.
“I’m not, I'm just messing around.”
She rolled her eyes. “No, you’re antagonizing her. And I think I know why,” she smirked.
“Why?” I asked, deciding to humor her.
“Because you looove her,” she replied smugly, drawing out ‘love.’
“I do not,” I immediately defended. I cringed as my response was too fast. She only gave me a satisfied smirk. “Fine, okay. She’s pretty, I’ll give you that.” Annabeth just raised her eyebrow. “And smart,” I admitted. She kept looking at me. “And nice.” More looks. “Fine! Whenever I see her I want to kiss her and never let her out of my sight.”
A smile broke out on her face, finally satisfied. “See? Now go tell her that. Well- maybe not that exactly. You’ll probably scare her off. But tell her how you feel instead of harassing her and making her hate you.”
My heart stopped. “She hates me?”
“Probably!” Annabeth said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Or at least she will if you keep treating her so terribly.”
“Fine, I’ll apologize to her after dinner,” I sighed.
“No! Now,” she demanded.
“But she’s at the beach. She’ll kill me!”
“I don’t care. Go,” she said, pointing down the beach. “And take this to her.”
I grumbled, grabbing her helmet from Annabeth before heading after the daughter of Poseidon. When I finally found her she was sitting near a cluster of rocks, clearly trying not to be noticed by anyone. But as I prepared to tell her how I felt but as I looked at her, I thought about all the horrible ways she could reject me. And then humiliate me by telling everyone in camp about it. So instead I threw the helmet at her.
It bounced off the rock with a clang, clearly startling her. “What? Are you gonna cry because I told you, you sucked. What are you 5?”
“Go away, Luke,” she yelled. I once again felt a pang in my chest as I heard the trembling in her voice. Whether from rage or tears I wasn’t quite sure. But picturing her laughing in my face as she rejected me made me keep going.
“I see why your dad went back to your mom. He couldn’t have his only demigod child in decades be so weak like you.”
“I said go away!” she yelled, standing up. Her eyes were practically on fire as she looked at me with a burning glare. The ocean was getting choppier behind her before it lunged up into a huge wave, soaking me to the bone. I coughed when it finally receded and she was left there, standing dry. “Leave me alone or I’ll stuff you in a sewer pipe,” she threatened, walking off.
~
When I told Annabeth what happened she threatened to stuff me in a sewer pipe. But other than that she let it go and I hadn’t seen much of Y/N. Which hurt at times because I missed seeing her and I thought about her all the time but I honestly deserved that threat she gave me so I respected her wishes.
That was until I heard a scream and then a boy’s desperate yell. I was in the arena when I heard it and didn’t hesitate running towards the sound. There I found Percy and his sister at the edge of the forest. Percy was frantically pushing on his sister’s bleeding leg as she was getting visibly paler. He looked up, seeing me. “Do something!” he yelled.
I ran over, kneeling by her side. I could now see the wound clearly and it was deep. Deep enough to kill her from blood loss. She already had a puddle underneath her and I could see a trail coming from the woods. “Go get Chiron,” I told the boy. He nodded, getting up to sprint to the Big House.
I looked at Y/N’s face, surprised to see her still conscious. “Surprised you’re not cutting me further open,” she said through shallow breaths.
“Look, I’m sorry I’ve treated you like shit and I promise I’ll explain why when you’re better but I need you to focus on staying awake right now. Think you can do that?”
Despite the fact that my hands were keeping her from bleeding out she had the audacity to roll her eyes. “Fine.”
“Thank you,” I breathed. I felt ashamed realizing that was probably the first nice thing I had ever said to her.
Once some Apollo kids came and took her the Big House I went with them. But once they had her in the sickroom and everyone else was kicked out, I became wracked with guilt and worry. I made her life miserable. Why? Because I was afraid of my own feelings for her? I realized just how ridiculous that was. And I realized how little time I may have to actually confess my feelings.
“What happened, Percy?” Chiron’s words interrupted my thoughts.
“We were in the forest just trying to get some monster fighting experience when this big… dog—I think it was a hellhound—jumped at me out of nowhere. I guess she saw it first because she pushed me out of the way but its claws caught her leg,” Percy explained. “Is she going to be alright?” he asked, tears in his wide eyes.
“Yes, she should be fine,” Chiron assured the boy before sending a reassuring look to me too. Did everyone know I liked her? I briefly cursed Annabeth, she probably told him.
But soon enough Lee and Michael said we could go in so I followed Percy into the room. Her leg was wrapped in a pristine white bandage and the sheets must have been changed because they were also white in contrast to her bloody shirt and shorts.
“Percy, why don’t you go get her some clothes for when she wakes up?” I suggested. He looked reluctant but went anyway so I could talk to her. I took a seat by her head, observing her peaceful, beautiful face. “I don’t know if you can hear me but… at least you can’t reject me like this,” I said, letting out an empty chuckle. “But um I guess I'm fulfilling my promise. The reason I’ve been such an asshole to you is because… well… I think I’m in love with you. And I was afraid of my feelings and that you’d reject me so I took it out on you and I’m sorry for that. You didn’t deserve that.”
I sat there for a beat of silence, unsure what to do. But just before I stood up and left, I felt her fingers brush against mine. “Took you long enough to confess, jerk,” she said. I looked back at her, finding the slightest smile and her gorgeous eyes.
“So… you like me too?” I asked, my heart pounding with insecurity.
“Yeah, of course I do,” she admitted. I smiled, leaning down to press my lips to hers. When I pulled away to breathe she took the opportunity to speak. “If you tell anyone I’ll stuff you in a sewer pipe.”
“Sure you will,” I taunted her, connecting our lips again. This time I only pulled away when I heard a slightly squeaky voice.
“What are you doing with my sister?”

Til death do us part
Tumblr media
Pairing: Luke Castellan x daughter of apollo!reader
Warning: angst, betrayal, violence, mentions of blood
Word Count: 1.3k
Author note: I really hope you like it!
Summary: After Luke admitted to working with Kronos, he wants you to escape with him. Will you go?
Tumblr media
Tensions were high, why wouldn't they be? Luke brought Percy out into the woods where he figured everything out. He was the traitor that they had been desperately searching for. Now, he wanted to recruit Percy to help Kronos with his plan of revenge against the gods for what they had done to him before Zeus took over.
After his failed attempts at convincing, Percy lunged at Luke, sword in hand ready to deal the first blow, but Luke was faster. Always had been. He smirked as the sound of metal clashing over and over echoed through the quiet forest.
Luke was becoming increasingly frustrated. He was angry. This was not how it was supposed to go. By all means, he was not losing. Well, that was until Annabeth removed her invisibility cap and revealed herself to Luke. His smile dropped. If she was here then that means you must be close by.
He already wasted enough time.
The adrenaline coursed through his veins as he fought back even harder against the two he once considered his friends. He eventually overcame them and they were now sprawled on the dirt, trying desperately to regain themselves and capture him.
"Luke!" Your voice echoed as you finally emerged from the tree line. As soon as you saw him, you felt relief and ran over to him nearly knocking him over after jumping into his arms. He smiled as he steadied himself and wrapped his arms around you in response.
You pulled away and cupped his face as you examined him for injuries. "What happened? It sounded like a fight was going on. Are you hurt anywhere?" Your anxiety settled a little as you saw no bruising or blood on his person.
"(y/n), I'm fine. See?" He took hold of your hands that cupped his checks and just held them in his. He looked deeply into your eyes as he gently caressed the back of your thumbs.
"(y-y/n)...get away from Luke." Annabeth coughed, finally regaining her strength. Your head snapped around and you saw both her and Percy lying on the ground and covered in dirt. Also, was that blood falling from Annabeth's cheek.
You quickly rushed over to them wondering how you hadn't noticed them before. "What the hell happened to you guys?" You slowly helped your friend sit up and guided her to lean against the tree.
"It was Luke." She quickly coughed out before losing her breath.
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean by that, Annabeth?"
"He's the traitor. He stole Zeus's master bolt and Hades' helm to start a war with the gods. He and Ares used Percy to deliver the bolt to Kronos himself-" Your heart broke at this revelation.
You stood from her side and slowly walked back to where you left Luke standing. A tear rolled down your cheek as you looked at your boyfriend. He avoided eye contact with you, feeling guilty that you had to find out this way.
"Tell me that she isn't telling the truth." And when he remained silent, you had your answer. "Why, Luke?"
He ran a hand through his hair wondering if he should bring you into this. He then spoke.
"The gods need to pay for what they've done to us, and Kronos is the only one able to make that happen," he stepped forward and brushed a loose piece of hair behind your ear before finally settling on your cheek.
"I'm doing this for you, for us. Don't you get that? I want us to be free from our parents. Free to make our own choices. Free from the monsters that want to hurt us. I don't want to live in fear of their wrath anymore. Worrying every single day that we'll never be good enough for them. That they can claim us and just easily disown us without any remorse." He poured his heart out as tears left his eyes. How did I not notice that he reached his breaking point? Have I really been that oblivious to his feelings?
The both of you were in tears. Luke quickly wiped his away as he turned towards the treeline. He grabbed his sword and began cutting into the air until a portal of blues formed.
"I love you, (y/n). I want to love until the end of life itself, but I can't do that with Zeus still on that throne." He reached his hand out to me. "Come with me, please."
The world stopped. Your eyes moved between his open hand and him.
Did you want to go with him? Of course, you did. You would follow him to the very ends of the earth if given the chance. Why would you even consider declining his offer? You loved him with all your heart, mind, body, and soul, and you would do nothing more than spend the last of your days fighting by his side.
He looked at you with desperation you had never seen from him before. He knew you would come with him, but he had a tiny little piece of doubt when you started hanging out with Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. Did their ideals get to you?
There was a war coming and your lover wanted you close to him. This was the only way he knew he could protect you... if you left with him.
You quickly wiped your tears and raised your hand up to his, but a quick shot of a small sword prevented them from joining. Luke cursed under his breath when he saw that Annabeth had quickly recovered her strength and now she held Percy's sword, ready to finish him off once and for all.
Luke quickly grabbed hold of your arm and turned you around with your back to his chest. He held the sword against your neck.
"Drop your weapon if you don't want me to hurt her."
You quietly called him wondering why he was doing this. You had already agreed to go with him. Why did he have to put on a show if the both of you could just run to the portal? You just decided to trust his judgment. He would never hurt you.
"You're bluffing. You'd never harm her." Luke scoffed as he pressed the sword harder against your neck. It made a small cut into your skin and blood trickled down. Ok, that stung a little.
"Do you want to test that theory, Annabeth? Do you really want to be the reason why one of your friends doesn't make it out of here alive to see the sunrise tomorrow?"
She thought about it. Luke was not in his right mind anymore so who's to say he wouldn't go through with his threat. She slowly lowered her weapon and watched as Luke walked backward pulling you along until he disappeared into the portal.
You were both gone.
Percy groaned as Annabeth rushed over to help him up. She quickly wrapped one of his arms around her neck and her free arm around his waist.
"I can't believe that he hurt her. That seems out of character, even for him." He rolled up his sleeves and looked at all the bruises that had gained from the fight.
"It was all a show." She said, matter-of-factly.
"What do you mean?" She shook her head. Oblivious as always.
"He was offering her a way out."
"A way out of what?"
"If Luke held her with a sword to her neck, who's to say she went with him out of her own free will." The cogs started to turn in his brain and a light bulb went off. His face dropped soon after that revelation.
Guilt plagued his mind. "Do we have to tell Chiron about this?"
Annabeth remained silent as she gathered her thoughts. "I didn't hear their conversation really well. Did you? What I just told you right now was just purely speculation." She stated before they began their journey back to camp.

Hi lovely, how are you? Saw your requests were open and took advantage of it ‘cause your writing is too good??? 😤🙌
Anyway, I wanted to request a Leo Valdez x Athena!daughter!reader where the reader is like sick with fever but she is pretty stubborn on not wanting help (literally her fatal flaw) and so she insists that she’s fine and all good until she’s just chilling with Leo in bunker 9 and she collapses. Lot of fluff please! 🤭
Thank you, and take your time to write this! No pressure at all babe! 🧡🫶🏻 (i’ll go now, I still have to finish three lectures for tomorrow and it’s like midnight here)
⋆ ˚。⋆౨ৎ˚ I Am Not Sick - Okay, Maybe A Little Sick
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content: leo valdez x daughter of athena! reader fic warning: language, mentions of being sick and throwing up and all that icky stuff but i think that's it!! author's note: as someone who is deathly sick rn, i concur. where is my soft boy to take care of me bc i wont take care of myself, huh?? also, hope you finished your lectures, i understand the procrastination its a silent killer frfr
"oh...you don't look good. like, at all," annabeth winced that morning, watching as the other daughter of athena dragged herself out of bed. this comment earned annabeth a glare as the other girl made her way towards the bathroom.
"wow, you're so sweet, annie. good morning to you too! gods, i just woke up-" the girl bit out, sarcastically, before getting cut off by a large sneeze, which left the girl's arm coated in snot. annebeth winced and took a step back, watching as her sister stood there in shock for a moment.
"are you-"
"shut up."
"okay."
despite annabeth's best efforts to get you to rest, you still marched your way out of that cabin, a woman on a mission. her mission? survive the day. preferably without throwing up, but we'll see how the day goes. first order of business; track down leo valdez. you had a multitude of reasons to see the son of hephaestus; he of all people would not send you to the infirmary, he still had some of your scrolls that you'd lent him and...well, you found him attractive. there, you admit it! he's hot, go screw yourself! but as you made the trek towards bunker nine, you were growing exhausted. but gods forbid annabeth be right about another thing. you paused outside the door, coughing up a lung and struggling to get air back into your lungs before taking a huge deep breath. which you breathed out as coughs, once more. huffing, you quite literally shook yourself before walking in, looking around for the boy and nearly tripping over some hammer.
"leo?! you in here?!" you called, clearing your scratchy throat after, shaking your head at the feeling. leo popped out from behind his project, rolling from under neither it and frowning up at you.
"you don't sound like...you."
"thanks, valdez! turning up the charm at ten in the morning, huh?!" you bit back, rolling your eyes. you were growing sick of the comments. actually, you were just sick, but you'd only admit that mentally. leo was still frowning at you, now sitting on the concrete floor as he stared at you, his head tilted and brows furrowed in silent questions.
"y/n-"
"look, rough night, rough morning. im fine, okay? drop it. i'm just here to get my stupid scrolls back and- woah," you stopped your angry rant as you wobbled on your feet, the corner of your eyes growing fuzzy and your brain turning a little muddy and mushy.
"woah is right. you are clearly not fine-" leo insisted, jumping up to his feet and reaching a hand out to you but you stumbled back from him, holding a hand out to keep him back as your other hand went to your forehead.
"i am completely and utter fine-"
before you could finish your lies, your knees buckled and you surely would have smashed against the harsh concrete had it not been for leo shooting forwards to catch you. after that, it was moments of consciousness in between unconsciousness, small memories of leo pulling a blanket up on you, snuggling closer to a pillow. vague memories of throwing up, your hair held back by something that felt similar to a hand. then, you finally blinked your eyes open and they stayed open this time. your eyes were still adjusting, looking around to try and grasp where you were. you saw a random wrench on the floor and knew you had to still be in bunker nine. you looked down, noting you were no longer in the shirt you walked in with but rather one of leos, you could tell from the grease smeared all over it. as you sat up, inspecting the shirt and blushing at the connotation, leo walked in.
"thank the gods! was starting to worry about you," leo huffed, laughing in a way that told you 'starting' was a lie. you could visibly see the tension leaving his shoulders, relaxing at the thought that you were okay.
"sorry," you muttered, digging your hands into the hem of the shirt, twisting and playing with it. leo reached out and settled his hands on top of yours, causing your eyes to look over into his.
"you don't have to apologize. you should look after yourself more but...im, uh, im happy to do it," leo admitted, his confession getting caught in his throat and the tips of his ears turning scarlet. a small smile twitched onto your lips before you pulled one of your hands away and tugged pointedly at your new shirt, raising a brow at the boy.
"oh! yes, sorry, you, er, threw up all over the last one. very attractively, i promise," leo teased, you shaking your head in hopes the blurring motion would cause him to miss your blush, "that's one of mine- also, i didn't change you! it was annabeth, promise!!"
"ugh, you told her i was sick! snitch!" you hissed, slapping his arm before sucking in a labored breath as you were hit with a wave of nausea.
"that's karma right there. abusing me and shit," leo huffed with a joking roll of his eyes before leaning over and grabbing something that was just out of view, "lemme make it up to you."
he presented you with the most delicious looking chicken noodle soup. you were practically drooling as you gently took the soup from him, cradling it to your chest like it was a baby. you looked back up at him with wide eyes and he was already staring at you, a soft smile on his lips before he reached forwards and brushed a loose strand of hair back behind your ear.
"it's my mom's recipe, it always made me feel better as a kid when i was sick. asked the harpies to let me use the kitchen," whispered leo after you took a few bites. instantly, you were melting before the boy at the sweet gesture, sharing a part of his mom with you.
"thank you. for- for everything. honest," you murmured and leo just beamed another soft smile at you.
"of course. i like- i like taking care of you- well," leo kept cutting himself off before breathing out a long breath, "yeah, i like you. like, like-like you. as in-"
"i like-like you too, leo. and not just because you're a good cook," you cut in before he could spiral out of control. and leo looked at you like you were the only thing that ever mattered. he went to lean in but you set a gentle hand against his chest, ever the logical one.
"leo, i'm sick-"
"fuck it. if you think im gonna go another minute without kiss you, you're dumber than i thought," bit out leo, instantly, before cupping your face and pulling you into a smashing kiss. and you couldn't find in you to care that he was gonna get sick, the feeling of his lips against yours and his hands in your hair and your hands against his chest being too addictive.
this boy was turning your brain to mush, something that was surely breaking your mother's heart.
but, fuck it, right?

I know, this is gonna hurt our hearts.
But PLEASEEEEEE 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
could you write something that includes
A scene of Y/n and Annabeth after Luke’s betrayal and Annie ask’s Y/n to change her Hair style since Luke isn’t there to do it.
Luke and Y/n were inlove and obviously Annabeth and Y/n are close but Annie made Y/n earn her love just like Thalia did with Annabeth 😭
i wish i hated you | luke castellan
i. hoping life brings you no new pain. i rearrange my memories. i try to rewrite our life.
when annabeth found you in the ares cabin, tears streaming down her face, she looked at you in a way that she hadn't in years. there was anger in her eyes, betrayal and hurt evident on her features. the last time she looked at you like this was when you returned from your quest from your father, nearing death.
you'd woken up with annabeth sitting on the corner of your bed, nearly dozing off as she sat up. luke had been released from the infirmary days prior and was immediately sent off to tend to his counselor duties, much to his dismay. he made annabeth promise him that she'd be by your side when he couldn't be. he didn't want you to wake up alone.
when she saw you groggily wake, she jolted from her seat, face morphing in concern then anger when you had the audacity to smile at her. she burst into tears, repeating the words, "i hate you!"
alarmed, you immediately wrapped your arms around the nine-year-old's body, trying to get her to calm down. she balled her hands into fists, trying not to hit you as you were healing from your wounds.
"annie, what's wrong?" you asked, confused at what could've made the girl so angry. "what's happening?"
"y-you promised!" she sobbed, clutching onto your blood-soaked shirt. "you promised me you'd be careful! you promised that nothing bad would happen to you. you promised."
two days ago, you were thrown around by a minotaur, breaking nearly every bone in your body and were coughing up blood, but somehow, hearing the brokenness in annabeth's voice hurt more than all of your injuries. you thought about the promise you and luke made to her before you went off on your quest; a promise that she would not lose another family-figure in her life, like she'd lost thalia, a promise that you'd return in a few days, triumphant and ready to teach her how to improve her aim in archery, a promise that you'd come back with stories from the city and your first real date with her brother outside of camp.
"they said you died," she cried, rubbing her eyes with her hands, "they said that your heart stopped working."
"annie, i'm okay," you tried to tell her, hoping that your words would bring her some sort of comfort. "see? i'm okay."
"but you weren't," annabeth replied. her big brown eyes looked up at you, bottom lip quivering. she was shaking. "l-luke hasn't slept in days."
your heart dropped at the mention of luke's name. he refused to let you go on the quest without him, even going so far as to bribe the person you chose to let him switch places with them. you refused at first, but quickly learned that your efforts were wasted. once luke castellan made his mind up about something, there was no room for argument.
that's how it was with you. the minute luke realized how he felt about you, there was no pulling back for him. he loved you, truly, deeply, completely. it was something that everyone at camp knew, annie especially. she'd seen the way her brother looked at you, how he cared for you. you were it for him.
so when you and luke returned to camp, unconscious, all annabeth could think about were her first days at camp half blood, watching her brother fight for his life while mourning the loss of thalia. it was a type of pain that was too much to carry for a seven-year-old, and it didn't get any easier two years later.
a year after your quest, when luke returned from his failed one, annabeth said the same words to him when he found her at breakfast. i hate you. but it was the furthest thing from what she actually meant. luke sulked on your bed for days, partly because the whispers and judgment from the campers was beginning to be too much for him, and partly because he felt like he was losing his family again.
now, as a twelve-year-old annabeth marched into the ares cabin, ignoring the complaints of your siblings, those words left her lips again.
"did you know?"
you sat up in your bed, confused, "know what?"
"about luke."
"what about luke?"
she furrowed her eyebrows, head tilting to analyze your face. you looked calm, worn out from the day's festivities, and ready for bed. you wore the bracelet that luke made you for your anniversary on your right wrist, where it permanently stayed on your body since you received it. annabeth bit her bottom lip, trying not to cry. she was exhausted.
"he did it," she whispered, knowing with just one look at you that you had no part in luke's plan. "he stole the bolt."
you froze for a second, then you let out a strained laugh, shaking your head, "good one, annie."
you fluffed your pillows behind you, trying to keep yourself busy because your thoughts were rushing at a million miles an hour. you began thinking of luke's distance, his coldness towards you, his secrets that you knew he kept. you tried to tell yourself it was just because he was tired of being at camp half blood, being 19 and shackled to this life, but you should've known it was more than that. you just didn't want to believe it.
"y/n," annabeth gulped, placing a hand on yours. you stopped your actions, looking at the broken girl in front of you. her tears left streaks down her face.
your eyes pooled with tears, engulfing her in a hug. she buried her head into the crook of your neck, letting go of her tough facade and sobbed into your arms. you wanted to do the same, but you couldn't. not right now. she needed you to be strong.
annabeth slept on your bed while you stayed up, unable to close your eyes to rest. you were afraid of the dreams you would have tonight. your dreams always starred luke castellan, whether they be replays of the memories the two of you made, jumping into the cold water of the lake to escape the summer heat, or training with each other but getting too distracted in the love of it all that your 5-minute breaks turned into hours of pointless conversations, pretending that the both of you lived a normal life.
you weren't ready to have those dreams tainted. not yet.
ii. our shadows dance in a parallel plane. just two different endings, you learn to repair and i learn to keep me in one place.
"annie, what's got you so worked up today?" you asked, nudging the girl. she'd been giving everyone attitude all day, including you, and you didn't know why.
"nothing," she replied, shaking her head. she piled her food on her tray and walked away from you.
you dropped the serving spoon and followed her, "annabeth chase."
annabeth flinched knowing that you only used her full name when she crossed a line. she sighed and turned around to face you. you placed your tray on the table, crossing your arms over your chest as you waited for her to explain.
"it's just--" she sighed, her voice suddenly quiet, "some girls were saying stuff about my hair and i know it's not looking its best right now so i've been really on edge about it."
"who was it?" your tone was cold and it made annabeth's eyes widen.
when annabeth first met you, she was guarded. she was mourning the loss of thalia and she was mad at luke for being so open with you so quickly, as if you could somehow take thalia's place. she pushed you away, partly because she was too scared to care for another person the way she did and lose them, lose you. she learned that in the life of a half-blood loss is normal. it's expected. but it didn't make it hurt any less.
you, more stubborn than anyone she'd ever met, kept trying to break into her world and it wasn't long before annabeth felt her resolve crumbling. how could she not when you cared for her more than she deserved with how she treated you? how could she not when you were the first person to bring a real smile to her brother's face? how could she not when she watched luke fall in love with you with every giggle, every stolen look, every squeeze on his hand?
and you loved annabeth like she was your own flesh and blood. you knew that she and luke were a package deal, a family, and you welcomed her with open arms. you grew protective of annabeth. you became the voice of reason in luke's head when he took his older brother duties too seriously, like the time she developed her first crush, or when she was named head counselor despite her young age. annabeth knew she could count on you.
"y/n, it's fine," she gulped, voice dripping with resignation, "it's not just that, i guess--uh, luke used to do my hair, remember? and since he's been gone, i haven't found anyone to do it for me."
"yeah, i remember," you muttered, looking down at your feet for a moment. you'd walked into the hermes cabin and found luke braiding annabeth's hair a few times. annabeth would be sitting crisis cross on luke's bed, talking his ear off as he nodded along from behind her, only half paying attention to what she was saying because he was too focused on getting the young girl's hair perfect.
you'd lean against the doorframe and admire them until they noticed your arrival. if you drowned out the bunks along the walls of the cabin and muffled the sounds of campers running around outside, they were the perfect picture of a brother and sister living a normal life, close as can be.
annabeth would be the first to notice you and she'd tilt her head up in greeting that had luke grumbling because "she needed to sit still," but then his eyes would follow annabeth's line of vision and a smile would appear on his face. you'd sneak a kiss to his lips that had the girl grimacing despite not seeing it happen, and you and luke would laugh, before you would take your place on the stool in front of annabeth. she'd have the conversation with you then and luke could focus on his task.
"do you..?" you trailed off, clearing your throat. "do you want me to try to do your hair?"
"would you?" she asked, hopeful. it was more than just her hair that she was asking about. those moments when luke and her would sit in the hermes cabin together were some of her favorite memories. she missed talking to him about anything and everything. mostly about his relationship with you. she'd give him ideas for dates, things that you'd like, and he'd enthusiastically thank her, even if he already had those things in mind.
annabeth just needed a sibling. she had plenty in the athena cabin, sure, but she wanted a sibling that wasn't obligated to call her a sister, but rather chose to because they wanted her. you'd never once made her feel unwanted.
"i can try," you said, sending her a shy smile. "i can't promise i'll be great at it, but we can go to the ares cabin after we eat?"
"that sounds good," annabeth replied. there was sorrow swimming in her eyes, a longing that you'd seen when you first met her at camp half blood. "thank you, y/n."
the hunch to her posture made your throat close up. it was a heavy burden for her to carry and if it was up to you, you'd shoulder it on your own to free her from it. "don't mention it, annie."
iii. no matter how guilty i still feel saying it, i wish i hated you.
"y/n?"
you rolled over in your bed, rubbing your tired eyes. in the moonlight, you saw annabeth's silhouette at the edge of your bed. she was wearing her pajamas and hoodie. the braids you did on her two weeks ago cascaded down her back.
you sat up in bed, "what's up, annie? it's late. you should be in your own cabin."
"i know, but i couldn't sleep," she rocked back and forth on her feet. you wondered if you ever looked this young. annabeth was always larger than life when she was with the other campers, a warrior, head counselor, the wisest daughter of athena, but there were moments like this one where it was evident that she was just a child. alone and terrified. "do you think we can take a walk?"
you were slipping your feet into your shoes before you could answer, you nodded and tiptoed out of the cabin, careful not to wake your siblings. you let annabeth lead the way as you softly shut the door to the cabin. there was a bite in the air, a soft breeze that swayed the leaves on the trees. you tugged on the sleeves of the sweater you always slept in, running your fingers over the loose threads from being worn out.
the sweater was luke's. he left it in his drawers when he left camp that night and nobody dared to touch the former counselor's things. his side of the hermes cabin stayed frozen in time; an unmade bed with wrinkles in his sheets, his left shoe poking out from underneath his bed frame, pictures of you and him messily taped to the walls.
"do you think he thinks about us? about camp?" she asked. her voice was so soft you almost didn't hear it. the hooting of the owls was louder than the voice of the girl beside you. "do you think he regrets what he did?"
your mouth felt dry. you blinked a few times, pulling down the sleeve of your sweater to touch the bracelet that you still couldn't bring yourself to get rid off. you licked your chapped lips, wincing at the pain from the cracks, "i-i don't know, annie. it's hard to say."
"well what does your heart tell you?" she tilted her head to look at you. "you know him better than anyone else. what do you think?"
"i like to think that he does," you settled for that. you didn't know if luke regretted his decision. you haven't seen him since that day, not since he placed a longing kiss to your lips, which felt like an omen now that you look back at it, before disappearing to talk to percy.
it was hard to think about what luke was feeling now, but you like to think that he did miss you, miss annabeth, even percy. you know you would if you were in his position. but maybe luke had changed. maybe he wasn't the person you'd grown to love anymore. the thought of it made you ill. would you recognize him if he appeared in front of you right now?
you always believed that in every life you'd know luke. the threads of your life, your being, your existence, would always cross somehow, some way. you believed that you'd recognize him by the sound of his steps, confident and strong, but gentle enough to not incite panic or danger. you'd recognize him by the sound of his breaths, even and calm, except when he would be near you, then it would falter for a second like you'd knocked the air out of his lungs. you'd recognize him by the smell of the air, easy and light, like how it felt to love him.
but you didn't know anymore.
"do you hate him?"
the foliage under your feet crunched under the weight of you as you trudged through the cabin grounds. the sounds of camp seemed to subside as if the whole world was waiting for your answer. your voice wavered when you finally found the courage to speak, "i wish i did."
there was an understanding that settled between you and annabeth as she followed your steps. the world resumed, as it always did. the two of you here in camp half blood and luke somewhere else out there in a place that neither of you could reach. she looked out into the mountains, "me too."

Waiting Room
Pairing: (Platonic but you can view how you like, but it's better platonic because there is a mention of Annabeth) Percy Jackson x Clearsighted! Mortal! GN! Reader.
Summary: Percy goes to therapy (🥳🥳), in the waiting room he meets someone a bit...different from the normal mortals.
Warnings: Swearing. And that's just it I guess? Ohh I almost forgot it has a mention of Gabe. (🤢)
Notes: Okay I don't know how hospitals and medical services work really well in other countries. But in mine this is how private hospitals work in Portugal. So this is just how I know. 😭😭😭 And hope you all like it! (And my Clarisse work was on fire, really happy!)
1.
Percy gets out of the car with Paul driving and Sally sitting on his side.
"Do you need for us to enter with you honey?" Sally asks smiling.
"Nah, it's okay mom." He kisses her cheek and waves at Paul.
"See you at home." Paul nods and waves back, Sally looks at him until he passes the door of the hospital entrance.
She relaxes as he does so.
"You need to relax." Paul says as he starts driving, after he tells her that he turns on the radio.
Sally nods. "You're right." She says and holds his hand that isn't in the steering wheel.
2.
Percy enters and goes to the balcony.
He waits for the register to even look at him, she is making gum balls and looking at a magazine, after he coughs to get her attention she looks at him, her ball gum going to her red lipstick lips in suprise.
"Hello there." Percy says as she looks at him. "I have a session with Doctor Brenner." She looks at her computer, he hears the sound of the offline 'Dino Game', but he hopes he is becoming deaf instead of that.
He coughs again.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry." She makes a forced smile with full teeth, wich has some of the red lipstick she is using. He makes a mental note to not say anything about it.
"So here it is." She talks to herself in the computer and points at the customer service password machine.
He goes and takes one: 'A458'.
'I hope that is good.' He thinks. She coughs at him to get his attention. He suddently feels the pressure to yell to all the people that she has lipstick in her teeth, but he doesn't.
"Yes?" He tries to make a smile.
"Doctor Brenner has a lot of people today, so the wait may be longer than the normal." She says now really playing the 'Dino Game' as he can see trough the reflection in her eyes.
"Thank you." He says, not very thankfull.
He goes sit in the waiting room, looking at the sides. The girl was right it is kind of full today, and isn't just because of the therapy sessions.
He goes sit at the place who has less people, a person reading a book, a mom who looks tired of life with two kids (he can tell that they are twins), and and emo kid in the corner who looks like could pull his phone out of his pocket and the people in there would think it is an AK-47. He sits beside the person reading the book. He waits for his time and looks at the TV who says the customers password. He sees that it is in the Q457 and W231. He has no idea if that is good, but it doesn't look like it, because he is A and it is in Q and W now?
"They are random." He hears the person next to him say. He looks at you as you look at him too.
"...What?" He asks suprised.
"The numbers...you were looking at them right?" You ask.
"Yeah I was." He makes a embarassed smile. "I was just suprised that you knew."
You shrugh your shoulders, now closing the book putting the marker in it.
"You were looking at the TV like an idiot." You smirk. "It was likely to knew." He smirks back.
"Very funny." Percy says mockingly.
"Thank you." You say and continue. "So what brings you here? I never seen you here before. Not that matter of course."
Percy thinks of it for a minute but he decides to tell. "Therapist." He says and looks at you.
"Doctor Brenner right?" You ask smiling.
"How did you know?" He asks again suprised.
"Wow, for you I must look like a wizard or something like that." You chuckle and tell him."I'm going to the therapist too."
"Oh." Percy says.
"Oh." You say mockingly but smiling.
"Soooo..is Doctor Brenner good or..?" Percy asks.
"He is." You say. "5 stars, I recommend." Percy chuckles with that.
"So sorry to ask. If you don't feel okay to answer I understand. Since we met now and whatever." You say. "But is there a specific reason you need a therapist?"
'Lots of them.' He thinks.
"Nope. Just a shitty ex-stepfather." He says and you nod.
'Hey, I'm not lying at least.' He thinks again.
"I see." You say and sigh.
"You seem disapointed." He says.
"It's not that." You pause for a moment. "It's just that...my reason to be here is kind of...rare."
Percy nods. "Can you tell me what it is?" You nod. "Yes, it's only fair...you answered my question." You pause again and sigh.
"I see things that other people can't." You tell.
Percy thinks for a moment. "So...you're schizophrenic?" He asks and as he sees you become tense he adds.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to be rude."
"I understand." You say and make a small smile to him. "And no I'm not schizophrenic...I don't know what I suffer with." You add and he can see your hand tremble. "They are there for me, and not for others, I don't know why." You say.
"Did you already made the tests to see what you have...?" Percy tells carefully.
"Yes...and nothing, it looks like it's rare, I don't hear voices, nothing! Just see strange things." You say looking at your lap as another man enters our section of the waiting room and sits besides the emo kid, the man looks at the kid and almost jumps in suprise as the kid takes a book from his bag, after that he goes sit across one of the twins.
Percy and you almost die in laughter but after some seconds it finishes and you say again.
"Doctor Brenner says that maybe it's because of stress. But I don't know." You sigh and Percy looks at you sadly.
"Well, what strange things you see?" He asks.
"Okay, it is really strange so don't alarmed." You sigh.
"I won't. Can't you see that we are at the hospital?" You two chuckle again.
"Okay.." You sigh again. "Flying horses, with wings... And giants with one eye and sometimes...I see people with swords and strange weapons." You look at him carefully.
"Wow." He says, he didn't expect to meet a clearsighted mortal right now, but here you are. He thought of his mom and Rachel and how they must have suffered when they didn't know of the godly world..like you.
"Wow." You repeat, this time not mocking. "I feel like I'm crazy, more than the emo kid." The emo kid looks at you and you wave nervous, and mutter a sorry.
'If Nico was here.' Percy thinks and chuckles to himself.
"Well, it might sound suprising but I know some people with the same condition as you..." He smiles.
"Really?!" You smile with full teeth. "OMG, I could kiss you right now!" You look at your hands still smiling.
"No thank you, I have a girlfriend." He smirks.
"Shut up and give me they're contact." You smile at him.
"Ouch, but okay." He gives you his mom and Rachel contact, writing on a paper. "Wow, one of your friend name is Red? Kind of cool."
He tries not to laugh. "Noo, it's Rachel Elizabeth Dare: R.E.D."
You nod. "That makes more sense."
And then Percy remembers something. "I don't know your name."
"Neither do I know yours." You smirk.
"Okay then. I'm Percy." He smiles at you.
"Hello, Percy. I'm Y/N." You shake his hand and smile aswell.
"Can I ask you something?" You tell.
Percy nods. "Well is Percy a nickname or your real name, because the only Percy I can think of is Percy Weasley form Harry Potter." You chuckle.
"It's a nickname, but it's what everyone calls me." He tells you.
"Why? Is your name that bad." You ask.
"I don't know, tell me you that." He pauses for a moment and tries not to laugh, he take your hand again and shakes it. "Hello Y/N. I'm Perseus."
You look at him suprised. "Percy it is then." You laugh at his face and then the TV makes a sound and shows 'A458: room 23.' Percy smirks and gets up.
"How the hell is yours first than mine." You hiss.
"No idea." Percy shrughs his shoulders. "But it's not like you are going to need it again." He points at the paper with the numbers and you smile.
"Right..." You get up and hug him. "Thanks again." You sit again and open your book.
He smiles to you one last time and goes to his designed room.
3.
After you're own session you go out of the hospital and wait for your parent at the entrance, while you are waiting you see a car pass by you. Percy is in there with an older woman and man, maybe his mom and another stepfather that isn't shitty? You shrugh and look at what he has in hand. A sword.
You look at him and he looks at you
trought the window, he looks at you with a smirk and you look back angry.
The car goes away and you yell at it.
"Fuck you." You sound angry but you have a smirk in your face.

a/n- yeah, i’m still not over the leaks
——————————————————————————
“-it funny. Just the idea of Annabeth trying to sit quietly and draw all day,” you spoke into the quiet atmosphere of your bedroom, a queasy Megumi nuzzled into the valley of your chest, little sniffles coming from him as you read a chapter from one of his favorite books.
A heavy comforter was thrown atop your bodies, his body supplying more than enough heat on its own, but the doctor said warmer was better anyway, especially when cold sweats would pelt his form simultaneously. “Athena expects her children to create things, not just tear them dow-”
“I thought Athena was the war one,” came a scratchy voice to your right, the usual teasing tone Gojo used with you gone from his arsenal, replaced by the signature rasps of a sore throat. Looking up from your book, you turned to look upon your very sick lover, his blue eyes red and shot from fatigue, slow blinks indicating he was genuinely awaiting your answer.
A sympathetic smile pulled at your lips as you just nodded and pulled him closer, his soft hair tickling the skin of your neck as he rested the back of his head against your shoulder, his long form sinking down the bed, hip just below your hip, side to your side.
“Then why would she like architects,” he mumbled, eyes closing to get his much-needed rest, relaxation melting his limbs before a jab was dealt to his side, ribs aching from a tiny elbow, its little bone just sharp enough to knock a cough out of him.
“Listen,” came Megumi’s irritated response, the boy clearly too tired to put up with your lover’s antics, huffing as he nestled back into the comfort of your arms, which used his back as a makeshift table, holding the book up once more to continue reading.
Stifling a laugh at the scowl you knew was gracing Gojo’s features at the moment, you read to your makeshift patients, trying your best to mediate between them and keep the peace whenever a petty argument rose.
“… I am Thalia,’ the girl said, ‘Daughter of Zeus’”.
Closing the book with a contented sigh, you peeked down to find Megumi sleeping soundly, his pale face finally gaining a flush of color after days of palidity. Combing his hair away from his forehead, you tested his temperature with the back of your hand, your hope for his recovery short-lived as his skin felt as scalding as ever.
“Fuck,” you whispered, worry for the little boy lying on top of you building as you imagined how bad he must feel and the fact that you couldn’t cure him on your own.
“He’ll be okay,” came that scratchy voice again, a warm hand rubbing smooth circles on your thigh, Gojo sensing your racing thoughts of desperation, could tell from your shift in mood alone that you were scared Megumi’s sickness could possibly get even worse.
“I promise,” he added, his own fingers carding through Megumi’s silky hair this time, the two of you watching the young boy, his uneven inhales slightly evening out at the feeling of his “father’s” touch.
The sight had the worry sitting in your chest dissipating, if only for a moment, and you relaxed back against the headboard, nodding to acknowledge that you trusted him, trusted that he wouldn’t let anything happen to Megumi.
“Besides, we’re unkillable, love” he somehow purred, rough voice aside. An incredulous scoff bubbled out of you at his comment, shaking your head in disbelief at Gojo’s pure nonchalance, his own laugh slipping from his lips. Once again, Satoru Gojo knew exactly what to say to push buttons, the only difference being that it was an adult elbow jamming into his side this time.

.˚ 𓈒 ࣪.𝝑𝝔 I'd let her light me on Fire ´ˎ˗
Leo Valdez x Fem!Reader Synopsis: after three weeks, the girls get a new roommate that Leo may or may not be quite familiar with!!! Warning(s): do I need to say cursing anymore Word Count: 2379 A/N: this is a normal AU, no godly shit 😛 why did I make Leo a lil bit of a loser?? also im gonna mention it now bc im lazy LOL, the dorms are like the ones in Gilmore girls (it makes me wish Yale was real💔) like they have the common area with the rooms connecting off of it, also writing in this pov is kinda annoying why did I do this, now lemme shut up Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a good 3 weeks in the amazing Los Angelos, it was time to go home. Well, not home, school. Weirdly enough, the seven felt a little bit homesick from being away for so long, but that cleared up when they remembered they were going to have to sit in the van for another 5 agonizing days. FUN!! And no, Leo did not almost fall asleep at the wheel, that was just Hazel's motion sickness getting to her, making her see things if you will.
When they made it back, they all felt like zombies when they were trudging back to their rooms. Safe to say the second they finished unpacking, just like in LA, they all passed out.
The next day, at around 10AM, the boys were sitting on the couch together eating cereal and just talking when Percy's phone went off.
"Yo I just got a text from Annabeth," Percy said with mouthful of cereal. "They're finally getting their fourth girl."
Leo was intrigued by this. Ever since that one night in LA, he hadn't really stopped thinking of Y/N. One thing about Leo, he never had the warmth of a family. When he ran away from his foster homes, all he had was the warmth of a fire every night to keep him going before he got dropped in a new home, one colder than the last. Now he associated the warmth of a fire with a girl, one he met once who had a crazed look in her eye when she saw the lighter go off. Leo had a thing for girls on the weirder end, but he was totally fine with that.
"We should go," Leo suggested. Y/N's voice still rang in his head, 'I gotta go now, maybe I'll see you around. Leo Valdez.' Now this was delusion at its finest, but he didn't care.
"Of course you want to meet the new girl," Jason chuckled as he got up toward the kitchen. Leo gave a half-assed laugh that no one paid mind too. Percy texted Annabeth back saying that they were on their way. Leo had a little pep in his step on his way to the girls floor. When they got there, Percy did a secret little knock on the door and Annabeth opened it, quickly kissing Percy before allowing everyone inside.
"'cough' Corny 'cough'" This earned Leo some chuckles, but was utterly ignored by the lovely couple in front of him.
"Right this way everyone, me and Hazel were just watching a movie. Pipers helping her unpack." Frank and Percy made their way to the couch along their girlfriends while Jason followed Leo toward the empty room. Well, the no longer empty room.
When Leo pushed past the door, he saw a girl leaning forward grabbing stuff from a duffle bag. She had on some low waisted baggy jeans that sat just right by her hip bone, and a crop top that showed off her figure. A beautiful slim waist and hair that flowed down her back. 'Wow.'
She stood up straight, like she sensed Leo eyes lingering and staring at her. When she turned around, a smile quickly flooded her features. "Oh my god, hey there stalker boy." She chuckled as Piper and Jason gave him the weirdest look.
"Hey I'm not a stalker! If anything, you're the stalker. How'd you know where I went to school?" Leo began walking closer and waving his finger around to make his point.
'Well," Y/N poked Leo's forehead, sending his head back ever so slightly. "I didn't. This is the boarding MY PARENTS decided to send me too."
"Can we pause for a second," Piper interjected. "Do you two know each other?"
"Oh of course," Y/N beamed. "Back like 3-4 weeks in LA, I was just minding my business, right? Then suddenly I felt eyes on me, so I turned and saw him staring at me!"
"I had to stare-,"
"Oh you HAD to stare?"
"Well, yeah?? You were literally trying to light a jungle gym on fire??"
"That's dramatic."
"Oh so that's why you came back late with a giant smile," Jason teased. Leo turned and gave him a look like 'bro your selling right now', but Y/N just started giggling and walking closer.
"Aw I had you kicking your feet and grinning," she started pinching his cheeks, swinging his head from side to side. "Be honest did you miss meee??"
Piper and Jason couldn't help but laugh at the situation their friend was in, knowing he probably didn't mind it all that much.
"Miss you?" Leo grabbed her hands off his face. "I hardly know you??"
"Yeah okay," Y/N turned back around to continue to unpack. "Well you can stand there and keep staring, or you could help me unpack." This was a hard decision. Stare at a masterpiece among art, or do work. Leo ended up helping though, not even noticing Piper and Jason excusing themselves.
While Leo continued to help unpack, he made it to one of the last book bags of clothes. When Y/N turned her eyes widened. "Leo don't open that one."
"Hm, what'd you say," she was too late. He already opened it and dumped everything inside in front of it, some landing on his feet. Though, it wasn't really clothes, more so underwear and bras. "That's what you said," Leo said lowly.
"Well um, I got it from here Leo. Thanks for the help," Y/N was a little embarrassed to say the least. How could she not be when the guy she'd been thinking about just dumped her underwear on his feet.
"No yeah you got that," Leo said as he backed away to the door, knocking into the dresser on his way. "I'll be out here," and he stepped out the door.
He left her in the room (where she stood just there for a good minute), as he joined in the rest of his friends in front of the tv. "Hey guys."
"Hey Leo-" Percy cut himself off when he looked down, and started laughing.
"Whats so funny?"
"Look down," Annabeth snickered, making the rest of the people on couch laugh as well. For a fact, the last thing Leo was expecting to see was Y/N's underwear tangled with his ankle, but that's exactly what he saw. The look on the boy's face was seemingly unreadable, but he was definitely embarrassed as he lifted up his foot and pinched the underwear off with his thumb and pointer finger. Now watch this for perfect timing!!
"Um, Leo," as Y/N stepped out the room to ask the awkward question, but she cut herself off. "Oh my god Leo did you just try to steal my underwear??"
Leo started stammering over his words as Y/N started making her way over to him, grabbing the underwear. "Uh NO! Why would I want your underwear??"
"Well, you just had it," she laughed.
"Well not on purpose obviously," Leo crossed his arms. "Like what do you think of me hello??" She started walking back to her room.
"Well, you were already a little stalker," Y/N leaned on the doorframe with the doorknob in her hand. "Now we can add pervert to the list!" She let out a laugh that made Leo think he was in heaven listening to the angels above, then he remembered why she was laughing at him as she shut the door.
He could've sworn his eye twitched. Because obviously she knew he didn't take it, she just found it funny to mess with him. Call it flirting if you will.
"Dude, that's not how you flirt with girls you know," Frank joked from the couch. Now it was their turn to laugh at Leo.
"Yo what is this, 'national pick on Leo day?'"
"The joke wasn't funny when you said it yesterday, and it shockingly isn't any funnier today," Hazel chuckled.
"But seriously, how do you get a girls underwear tangled around your ankle before getting your first kiss," Jason asked, making everyone laugh some more.
"Why does the whole village feel the need to gang up on me right now?"
"To be fair you make it really easy," Piper added. "Do you even talk to girls other than the ones in this room?"
"No and this ones really pretty so can we cut me some slack??"
Y/N stood in her dorm, leaning up against the closed door listening in on the conversation going on in their common area. "This one." She giggled as she listened to them all berate Leo for his lack of skills with girls. As the conversation died down, she spent the next ten minutes or so unpacking before walking back out and joining the others.
When Y/N arrived this morning, the girls quickly made her feel welcome. It was really refreshing compared to most, if not all, the other schools she'd been to.
She walked out and saw everyone laid out on the couch. The only space open was conveniently next to Leo, which was fine considering he had some popcorn with him (bless Piper for convincing the school to let her keep her microwave). When she plopped down next to him, she leaned closer to grab some popcorn and whisper, "what movie are we watching?"
When Leo turned to face the girl next to him, he could've sworn he felt chills go down his back. It was just like that night in LA. "We're watching Fear Street, we planned on watching all three when we came back."
He had popcorn breathe. "Oh fire, I've been wanted to watch these too."
When she saw Leo laid back and comfortable, she took her chance to sit somewhat closer, slipping her arm under his and wrapping it around, leaning her head on his shoulder. His nervous system may have rebooted but that's besides the point.
When the bowl in front of the two was now empty, Leo started to stand, quietly gesturing Y/N to follow him. Leo led her into Piper's room, where the microwave and some snacks were. As he knelt down looking for food, Y/N sat down on the bed and watched Leo.
"So, how ya been?" Leo asked. "Considering you were living on the streets."
"Oh it was so hard, fending for myself in these dangerous streets as a small feeble woman," Leo chuckled. "It wasn't that bad, I was just staying in my car. Me and my beetle against the world."
"Yeah, I get that," Leo sat on the floor while the microwave started to spin. "I lived in my van a lot, I even named it festus."
"A van? Like scooby doo type shit? Cause that'd be pretty sick."
"THANK YOU! Finally someone understands me."
"I'm a pretty open minded person." The microwave peeped.
"Popcorns ready."
"How is there even a microwave in here you," Y/N asked.
"Pipers pretty persuasive I suppose." Leo sat down with the bowl of popcorn just eating it. He patted the spot on the floor next to him gesturing the girl in front of him to sit. She slid over and started eating the popcorn.
"You know, I'm kinda hungry for some actual food." She turned over to Leo. "Is there somewhere here to get some food?"
"Cafeteria's open?" She smiled and pulled the bowl of popcorn off of Leo's lap before grabbing his wrist and pulling him up and out the door. Y/N was snickering as she pulled Leo out of her dorm into the hallway before stopping and turning to him.
"I don't know where to go, still new here."
"Well naturally," he rolled his eyes and laughed. "Follow me, m'lady."
She didn't realize how hungry she was for some real food till she caught a whiff of some Mac n cheese and chicken tenders. Popcorn was cool and all, but this was much better.
"You don't have an ID yet right," Y/N nodded. "I'll treat you then."
She smiled as she followed him to the food, "Such a gentleman. Is this an apology for stealing my underwear?"
People gave weird looks before going back to what they were doing. "Dude you can't just say that," Leo rubbed his temples.
"I mean, it's true," She shrugged and started filling her plate with some gorgeous Mac n cheese and chicken tenders. When she finished Leo paid for both their meals and they sat at a table across from each other. "God this shits good."
"You sound starved.."
"To be fair I was saving my money for gas while I was out. Shits expensive so not as many full course meals as you'd think."
"Well, while your here I could make up for that, treat you some more like the gentleman I am."
"Aw, are you flirting with me?"
"Why is it working?" Leo joked (He wasn't joking).
"Woah, big talk from a guy who hasn't had his first kiss," she laughed but Leo just dropped his forked and stared straight at the girl in front of him.
"When did you-"
"Thin walls you know," she winked.
"It's not funny."
"Maybe just a little."
"I've kissed millions of girls!" Leo retorted.
"Really? Name one."
"A gentleman doesn't kiss and tell," Leo winked and Y/N just rolled her eyes.
"Ya know if you were honest it could've been a millions and 1." He looked straight at you. "Just kidding!"
"Is your biggest joy in life just making fun of me?"
"Maybe.. yes." She said as she took the last bite of her food. The two stood up and went to throw away their empty plates. They made their way back to the girls dorm. When Y/N opened the door she saw everyone about a fourth of the way through the third fear street movie. "We're back."
"Where'd you guys go," Piper asked.
"To eat, I was hungry," Y/n smiled as she plopped down in the same seat she sat in before, shortly followed by Leo. They both slid into the same positions as earlier, with their arms intertwined as they laid their heads on each other, but this time, it weirdly felt more comfortable. This was gonna be a fun year!!!

“Whoops?”
~best friend to lovers troupe 😍, no set gender 🫶🏻, Percy Jackson x reader, mentions of blood and an accident cut, swearing and two stupid idiots who obviously like each other.~. !!!NOT PROOF READ!!!
“Come on, Y/N, you have to actually try.” Percy spat out. “I am trying, this is just so boring and I don’t see a point in this.” You said while lunging forward at Percy with your sword in hand. “One day you could be in serious trouble, and… I don’t know if I’ll always be here to save you.” Percy mumbled out that last part but you still heard. Understanding why he now had been begging you to practice swordsmanship with him. “Oh..Well you can’t get rid of me so easily.” You exclaimed trying to lighten up the mood. Percy didn’t quite like that and sent a little sassy side eye your way. You laughed at your sassy best friend.
You look away for a split second but still going towards Percy as you two continue to fight with your swords. You watch as Grover falls off a boat into the lake. “OMG Percy look at- shit!” While you were distracted with laughing your ass of at Grover being stupid, Percy hadn’t taken notice of how distracted you were and accidentally caused you to fall over a boulder/rock. “Omg shit Y/N, are you okay?” He giggled out. “Are you seriously laughing right now.” Percy went over and helped you up looking for any clear injuries. “ you can’t blame me the way you fell is hilarious.” His eyes went wide. “What..why are you look at me like- Woah okay yup that’s a problem.” You say as you take notice of the sword embedded into your leg.”
“Hey guys! Uh hey Y/N you know you have a sword in your leg right?” Anna Beth stated walking into the mess you two created. “Oh my gosh, no I had no clue thanks annabeth.” You said with obvious sarcasm. The pain was finally starting to set in as you saw the blood fall from your leg. “Hey guys I’m feeling a little dizzy maybe I should go to the infirmary.” You tried taking a step forward and then……..It all went black
You wake up in the infirmary with Percy next to you sitting and Annabeth spewing questions at him “How did this even happen? You know what actually I don’t wanna know.” Percy laughed “Well actually this stupid ass wasn’t looking, well I mean technically it was my fault but like..?” You cough trying to make your presence known in the room “ I got a little distracted but, it’s technically groovers fault because he made me get distracted by falling into the lake.” Everybody started laughing. Luke walks in. “How did you even manage to get a sword stuck in your leg. You two idiots got me in trouble because I’m supposed to be in charge of keeping everyone safe.” Luke spat out obviously upset with you and Percy. “Whoops..?” You and Percy said simultaneously.
Everybody but Percy had left your room. “I’m sorry for laughing, I was actually super worried for you.” He said while avoiding eye contact. “It’s okay, I would have laughed at me too.” You grab his hand in hopes of him making eye contact. “I’m okay. I promise.” Percy looks up finally gazing into your eyes. You can tell how worried he had been. “Annabeth told me I should tell you this secret I’ve been keeping but, I don’t know how you will react.” You sit up yearning to know this so called secret “Tell me, you can trust me Percy, you’re my best friend.” That last sentence didn’t seem to make Percy so happy. “That’s the problem Y/N. I don’t wanna be your best friend anymore.” Taken back you removed your hand from his.
“Oh..” Percy shot up with worried eyes. “No, no, no that’s not what I meant.” “ what I meant was, I really like you, in a not friend way. I have for awhile..” you lunge at him and wrap your arms around him. “You stupid idiot. I’ve liked you since you first got here at camp.” You say.
Okay I don’t know how to end this so 😭😭😭 yeah that’s it. I tried to make this as good as possible but I’ll eventually make it better 🫶🏻🫶🏻

machines explodes and so does leo’s heart
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“can you pass that?” leo gestured vageuly to the table you sat on, other hand straining to keep cogs from touching as he undid the chain links.
you frowned, surveying the varied range of tools before you. you’d watched him do this maintenance enough to take an educated guess.
you guessed right and couldn’t help but feel a little proud of yourself.
“do you hear that?” he froze suddenly, pulling himself out of the cavity he’d been leaning into. you were slightly distracted by the arm he was leaning on, and his oil-stained dungarees.
blinking, “erm... no.”
leo frowned, “really, cos i swear there’s like a fizz or s-”
he did not get to finish the sentence, as a loud clank and scrape cut him off, followed quickly by an explosion somewhere inside the mess of machinery he was operating on.
flames and thick black smoke billowed outwards. luckily, leo was focused enough to protect his skin from the flames, only charring the tips of his hair slightly. but you were not fireproof, and had to inelegantly flip the table you were sitting on to protect yourself from the scorching heat, even though the flames didn’t quite make it that far across the room.
“y/n? oh my gods, y/n?” leo shouted once the fog had retreated, rushing to the corner you’d backed yourself into with the table-shield diagonally across the space.
coughing and flapping away the fumes that you winced at the thought of having in your lungs, you let him help you up.
“let’s go... get you some air.” leo decided, guiding you out of the room with a hand at the small of your back.
friends, best friends, you reminded yourself, convinced the smoke you’d just inhaled was affecting your thinking.
“are you okay?”
on instinct with your swirling thoughts and feelings, “no.”
something lit in his eyes, “no? what hurts, where- i mean, do you need like a medic or i could get coach hedge-”
you cut him off, “no, sorry, i’m alright.”
he frowned at you disbelievingly, but you tried to reassure him, “i’m okay. really.”
leo grimaced and removed his hand from you to mess with his hair, “sorry, that was... my fault. maybe you shouldn’t come to the engine room anymore.”
you tried to not think about the implications of your next sentences, “no, i want to. i like coming to wat- talk to you. even if i end up choking.”
“that’s... what she said?”
with a scoff, “shut up valdez.”
he wiggled an eyebrow mockingly, “make me.”
“now that’s what she said.”
with a nudge to your shoulder, he sat you down on the side of the ship that was still rocking uneasily. percy and annabeth bustled around somewhere behind you on deck, having a vague disagreement on the best order of pastries. he kissed her on the forehead and she laughed; you turned back to leo and fought the urge to lay your head against his.
“are you sure you’re alright?”
you nodded a little too enthusiastically, “sure, sure, i’m good.”
“cos you’re breathing a little shallow... that’s all.”
you dipped your head and tried to not meet his eye, “yeah... i mean, i’m alright.”
for all his bravado, leo was oblivious to the signs of your crush. but he could tell there was something you weren’t comfortable to say, and he wanted you to be comfortable in saying anything to him, so he tried to open up himself.
“y’know my hairs a bit singed now? i wasn’t focusing on protecting myself from the fire, because i was... i mean my first thought was just, y’know, worrying about you. i was worried about you.”
you smiled weakly, softly, “yeah, but i’m okay.”
he huffed but smiled back, “i know. but i didn’t know then. i’d be pretty lost without you.”
once again you turned away, “ye- yeah, me too leo.”
it wasn’t often you referred to him by his first name, and he couldn’t help but wonder if it meant something. he scanned his eyes across your warm cheeks, sparkling eyes, slightly furrowed brows, chapped lips. he thought you looked like an angel. and the words spilling from his throat weren’t entirely intentional.
“i think i love you, or something.”
your heart rate spiked, eyes blown wide, but you hesitated, “or something, you reckon?”
he shook his head, “no. no, i love you.”
while your lack of response was entirely the fault of shock, rather than unreciprocation, that wasn’t apparent to the nervous boy who’d just confessed his feelings for you, albeit half unwittingly. his brain was still catching up with his words when you were kissing him, and he was kissing back on instinct.
that didn’t surprise leo, his instincts were usually screaming to kiss you.

that summer between botl and tlo,, i feel like percy went to camp but he and annabeth swung wildly from arguing/fighting constantly to getting along (cough flirting cough). approaching annabeths birthday, they got into a big fight and annabeth is kinda upset bc every year, since he found out, percy made it his mission to make annabeth’s birthday a Thing but this year everything is so tense and he’s not gonna be around for her next one (or the ones after) and they’re fighting and he doesn’t care about her and-
and he’s sitting next to her on the pier and it’s sunset and no one is around and it’s quiet and oh shit he’s handing her a present
“happy birthday, beth.”
he’s so quiet and he’s still holding out the present that’s wrapped in the little mermaid wrapping paper that he bought as a joke when they were younger that he insists on wrapping every single one of her presents in and he’s just staring at her with nothing but love and warmth in his eyes, no anger or frustration, the setting sun painting his skin a brilliant gold and a small, soft smile on his face as if they’ve never fought a day in their lives and he’s still holding out the present-
fuck. she’s absolutely fucked.

December Prompts 1: Light
.
.
Dec 1, 2026
The bathroom light wakes him up. The sound of retching gets him out of bed. He winces at the chill of the hardwood floor, but it’s the nudge he needs to get from half-asleep to awake. The gagging he hears, followed by a dry cough, knocks him to fully alert. He makes his way to the bathroom, cursing under his breath.
Her head hangs over the toilet bowl, breaths loud and slow. Against the white tiled floor, her thighs looking tanner than they really are. He takes her in, hand at the nape of his neck, watching her breathe, in...out, her shoulders hunched, hands curled in the hem of her baggy t-shirt.
Percy steps back out into their bedroom.
She’s still in a kneel when he returns, but now she's shifted, head tipped back in fatigue. He reaches for her when her body tenses, she’s gagging again, there's nothing really coming out and there really nothing he can do. She dry heaves and he comes closer, squatting behind her.
Annabeth breathes shakily then spits, hard, trying to clear the taste of sourness and bile from her mouth.
“Put some pants on,” his hand settles on her ribcage, I’m here, the other hand holds out a pair of sweats. “It's cold.”
She doesn’t get up from her position before the toilet, just maneuvers her legs into the pants. One leg in, she jams the other one next, she's finished with a haphazard tug, the band crooked and folded at her waist.
He takes a step back, arms crossing over his bare torso.
“Can get you anything?”
“Ginger tea.” She pushes the hair from her sagging ponytail off of her forehead with two hands. “That’d be nice.”
He watches her for a second, lips pulled in as he considers. In the end, he does as he’s been asked, leaving the sorry, LED bleached scene to return, several minutes later, with the tea as requested, a bit of honey added to soothe.
She’s on her feet by then, toothbrush wedged in her mouth as she sprays the toilet down with some Lysol. She leaves the disinfectant to sit while she rinses out her mouth.
He passes the tea to her when she's done, laying the back of his hand on her neck, then her forehead, just checking.
"Think you can stomach something before work?" He keeps his hand on her, flattening the curls at the crown of her head.
"I'm calling out."
Some of the worry seeps from him.
"Okay," He tilts her head towards him so he can kiss her on the forehead. "Lay down, get some rest." He kisses the hair at her temple. "I've got the girls."
When she crawls back into bed, he's right there pulling the blanket up to her chin. She thanks him softly, eyes almost drifting shut before she catches the pleased look on his face.
"What?" She asks, genuinely curious.
He smiles a little, his hand lingers in her hair out of habit before he admits.
"I didn't think you'd call off."
"Well, I feel like dog shit," she murmurs.
He almost laughs, then sighs with a bit of his own fatigue. "I don't know, honey." He catches her earlobe between his thumb and forefinger. "Sometimes you act like you aren't pregnant. Other times you have me worried sick."
"I can't pretend today," the confession comes out of her, bare enough for him to worry again. "This round goes to your offspring."
He laughs for real this time. "Okay." His thumb brushes her cheek before he bends to press his mouth to the corner of hers. "Take a breather then, Mayweather."
She hmmed. "I'll be back in the ring tomorrow."

I love how soft your writing is! Reading one of your stories is like curling up in a blanket :3 I don’t know much about Percy Jackson but I have writing prompt/one shot idea if you’re up to it!
Percy ends up coming down with like the flu or something and Triton, who’s unfamiliar with human sicknesses, ends up freaking out thinking it’s something serious. He has the overwhelming urge to take care of his sick brother, and goes into super soft and gentle big brother mode and ends up nomming him and fussing over his well being. Meanwhile Percy is like “dude I’m not dying I promise” XD
AHHHH Thank you so much!??? ANd ABSOLUTELY I am always up for prompts-
And yesses this is the easiest because Triton A. doesn’t go on land very often meaning the last time her heard of the flu it was genuinely a huge ass threat, it doesn’t help that Percy can be a big baby about being sick-
I just love the sea fam all adoring Percy like it’s legit an addiction at this point))
Percy groans laying on a bench, sniffling in misery. He hated getting sick, water didn’t technically take it all away even if it did make him feel a little better. Having said that this headache was absolutely killing him. “I’m dying” he whines, scowling when Annabeth laughs lightly, sitting by a tree working on some architect designs. “I told you to go lay in your cabin seaweed brain.” She teases Percy squeezing his eyes shut trying to ignore the scratches of pencil on paper.
“Ugh but that means leaving you alone.” He grumbles, coughing heavily causing him to groan again. “I need like- like mom’s cookies and some orange juice.” he cracks his eyes open to look at his girlfriend, huffing when she hums not even looking up from her drawing pad. “Do you even care that I’m dying?”
“You’re WHAT!? Why haven’t you been taking to your healers? Perseus! We talked about caring for yourself!”
Percy yelps falling off the bench groaning when he hits the ground. “Oh-ah..hey Triton?” He says clearing his throat before practically hacking up a lung. He winces knowing that he wasn’t exactly going to be let out of his brother's sight for a decent time. “Don’t you ‘Hey Triton’ me! You are dying and you’re- UGH You’re infuriating!” Percy isn’t too surprised to feel hands sitting him up, humming at the chill from the god’s hands. He forgot how cold Triton was and it was blissful.
“I told him to go to the med bay.” Annabeth pipes up, finally looking up from her sketch pad. There was a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Oh. Oh, she had totally planned this hadn’t, see? Staying quiet to keep him complaining- “You’re despicable wise girl.” He hisses out.
Triton made a noise that Percy knew meant he was about to be totted around like a helpless toddler. “Wait! Wait, I’m not dying I’m actually fine- haha right? Just a little cold right Annabeth?” he hisses out looking pointedly at his girlfriend. He can’t help but relax more as Triton tucks him more against his body, the coolness of the god nearly making him melt. Deep sea coldness was bliss when you were sick, who knew?
“I don’t know Lord Triton, you heard him, he’s dying.” Annabeth says sweetly, glancing at Percy with a smirk. He groans knowing fully that he is going to be smothered for the next few hours. Triton makes that weird, strangling noise again, causing him to roll his eyes as he was picked up like a tired toddler. It was slightly nice, not that he would ever admit it.
“Not dying!”
“You’re practically burning up! Why haven’t you- brother we spoke about this." Triton groans, holding Percy close to his chest. Percy letting out a low breath as his brother started walking towards the water. “Get better soon Percy.” Annabeth calls cheerfully.
Jerk. He’d get his revenge.
“The water isn’t gonna help I already tried that.” Percy grumbles closing his eyes as he leans more against his brother. The coolness was combating the fever he had been sporting for a few hours now. He swore it even was making his headache ease up. His nose wrinkles up when Triton stops suddenly causing him to let out a small whine. It was embarrassing being so- well childish near the god, but Triton never seemed to mind. The god let an apologetic murmur out, a hand running through his hair lightly tugging out any tangles.
“Of course you have... What ails you little brother?”
“Just the flu”
Percy yelps when he's suddenly set down, his brother putting his hands on both his cheeks and staring at him intently with horror. “You hAVE WHAT!? Pereus! This is serious! Why haven’t you been in bed or resting- brother why haven’t you come to the palace for our healers!”
Well..that was new. Percy hadn’t expected Triton to be this worried. “Woah, woah hey! It’s alright I promise I’ve had it before.” He says patting his brother’s hands, holding in a round of coughing. He had a feeling that wouldn’t help his case. “That brings me no comfort little brother. This Influenza is a dangerous matter, I have seen its effects.” Triton’s tone was seriously starting to freak him out. This was as bad as the time he got back from Tartarus. He swore Poseidon hadn’t technically left him alone for a hot second.
“It’s different now, it's like- ah more inconvenience than anything I promise.” Percy offers his half-brother a reassuring smile, grabbing the God’s hands and taking them from his cheeks. Yeah, no that felt worse- he quickly put his brothers' hands back on his face humming at gentle coolness. “How it is simply an inconvenience if you are positively burning up.” Triton fusses, once again scooping him up into his arms. At this point he was too tired to care and honestly it was nice having someone other than his mother to soothe him. “Don’t take me to dad please I just... I feel like I'd be better up here.” He grumbles instead closing his eyes,
Triton sighed heavily and they were moving again. The blissful coolness of his brother’s body soothing his fever. He hums quietly pressing closer against his brother, tucking his head in the crook of the god’s neck.
“You truly have no concept of calling for aid, do you?”
“It’s just a cold.”
“And last time it was just a few monsters, or just a nightmare, it’s always just something Perseus.” Triton looks down at him with concern, Percy grimacing and ducking his face further into the crook of his brother’s neck. It was different with his mom; he didn't lie to her per say but..he left a few details out. She wouldn’t understand. Not truly.
“Because it’s nothing, I can get through it I always do.” He mumbles, relaxing once Triton steps into the cabin. The sea salt air washing over him in a soothing matter. The fountain in the middle expands drastically until it’s more of a small swimming pool. Triton steps in, his arms still wrapping around his body protectively.
 “You aren’t anymore.”
That stung. He stays quiet until he dissolves into a wave of coughing, pushing back slightly from Triton, wheezing as he tried to get some air into his lung after the fit. Hands press into his back rubbing soothing circles, his brother murmuring something in Atlantean. “Let us take care of you now that we’re allowed little brother.” Percy bites his lip, trying to sink lower into the water to avoid any eye contact with the God. Allowed too was a funny thought. They hadn’t been allowed too, not at first. Less for Amphitrite and Triton but they hadn’t been his biggest fans until his little trip to Atlantis. Something about him screaming in his sleep and wailing.
Embarrassing stuff to sum up. Things he had tried so hard to hide from everyone else but for some reason stubbornly came to the surface when at Atlantis. He winces when Triton tilts his chin up forcing him to look into the God’s eyes. He always felt so small in any of the sea family’s presence...didn’t help that half the time they were physically larger.
“I’m fine Triton, I promise.” He ignores how his voice cracks. Relief floods his system when the god lets an annoyed sigh out before guiding him closer, the water cooling down as he did so. It had no right to feel as good as it did. Percy practically collapsed against his half-brother struggling to keep his eyes open. A hand starts carding through his hair, brushing strands away from his face. “Little brother...you look nowhere near ‘fine’ right now..please cease your stubbornness for even just a minute.”
He would've stuck his tongue out in protest but being in cool water combined was making him sleepy, not only that he was sure Triton was going to make sure that he stayed laying down. Instead, he stubbornly stayed quiet, keeping his eyes closed as he focused on the blissful chill the water and his brother brought.
“You’re merely a child...so rest. You’ve done so much for the world, allow yourself to rest little brother.”
Percy decided to not comment on the fact he was being shifted in a very suspicious manner that most likely meant that Triton was getting to his godly height. He whines when the support shifts from leaning a glint his brother's body to just what he was guessing was his brother’s hand. Ugh that totally meant he was getting one ticket to tummy town then.
Triton apparently took this as compliance because the next thing he knew he was being lifted up into the air, water trickling down into the fountain turned pool. He lets a tired breath out letting his body be guided, his feet pressing into a chill that started to envelope his body. He cracks his eyes open, huffing as he his legs slowly
passed between his brother’s teeth. They were less shark like than usual which was odd..ugh he’d ask later his vision was blurring just from thinking now. Lazily he sticks his arms up as Triton swallows firmly his legs being drawn into his throat. A small whine draws from him, Percy a tad surprised to get a croon back. The vibrations tickled him as the noise washed over his senses.
He closes his eyes against mischievously patting triton’s upper lip, smiling victoriously as he feels it twitch upwards. Ha! At least he wouldn’t have to deal with serious Triton after this whole thing. He lets a breath out mentally preparing himself as Triton swallowed again, the sound rolling over him as he’s sucked inside his brother’s mouth. He knew if he opened his eyes a soft glow would great him but..he couldn’t stand the idea of opening his eyes now.
Maybe it would be nice to just..rest. The muscles roll over him invitingly pulling his body further down. The rhythmic pulling further relaxed his body. When was the last time this week he had actually gotten rest? If he wasn’t currently being supported by the surrounding environment, he was sure his head would roll to the side. His feet hit open air, and soon he plops inside the larger chamber. A small breath escapes him as his lungs are free from the firm pressure of muscle. It was still gross he decided but...the chill and rippling of plush stomach walls was oddly inviting.
“Rest little brother, there is no reason for you to not. Your friends and betrothed are safe...there are no fights to be won, just rest.”
Triton’s voice is soothing like waves on the shore. The image of water gently rolling across the sandy beaches helpfully dancing in his mind. It wasn’t like Triton was wrong either, everyone was at their camps safe..there wasn’t a battle to prepare for it was just...Quiet.
“She’s, my girlfriend.” He mumbles in protest, scowling when a chuckle slides him around gently in a swaying motion. They had the argument multiple times, and he could practically see the fond smile on Triton’s face.
“Yes yes, your girlfriend.” His brother appeases him. Percy snorting and leaning against the welcome touch of his brother’s hand through layers of muscle. The familiar circular motion making him hum, trying not to fall asleep right there and then. Things started to blur together, more so when Triton, the bastard, started humming an old Atlantean lullaby that seemed vaguely familiar.
Oh well sleep would be good for being sick...

Percy can't believe it.
"Im sorry- you lost what?"
"I swear to god that it was just here last night- and I'm sure I didn't move it anywhere- fuck- and I'm tearing the house apart just looking for it!"
"Okay, slow down," Grover says into the iris call, "What are you looking for?"
Percy looks down in shame, eyebrows knitting together and lips tugging downwards into a deep frown. His voice comes out ashamed, dissapointed.
"Annabeth's... uh. Engagement ring."
"Annabeth's enga- Percy, you had one job!"
From outside the car, Percy just seems to be a little distressed- nervous, even. He doesn't look like he's going to propose in less than an hour (hopefully, if everything goes right, which it's definitely not) or that he lost the engagement ring that belongs on the hand of the love of his life- Annabeth's hand.
And it's been a long day. Annabeth seems to think this is a little birthday celebration for him, thinks that they'll spend the rest of the late afternoon watching the sunset and enjoying the cool evening together eating cupcakes. Its far from a regular birthday celebration; because it's (technically) their anniversary too.
"I KNOW!" Percy screams back, close to tears, "I know, I was doing my best to be the most careful I possibly could, but it's not here anymore- it should be in my pocket!"
"Where was the last place you put it?"
"...Where It put it?" He says like he's walking on eggshells, "Look, i've been careful with it all night, 'Kay? It just... dissapeared!"
"I don't think engagement rings can do that," Grover sighs.
"Have you looked all over the car?"
"Mhm!"
"On the floors, in the seats? Under the seats?"
"Yeah!"
"On the dashboard?"
"Yes, I-" Percy reaches forward, deep, running his hands against the large expanse of the—leather dashboard expecting nothing but air until his fingers brush against what feels like a velvet box.
The silence tells all to Grover, a hand coming up to slap himself in the face. "Oh my god."
"I'm an idiot," He falls back into his seat, instantly holding the tiny box against his chest, "Such an idiot."
"No, you're not, just way too nervous." Grover heaves a huge sigh of relief from his side of the call, "Just try to propose with making a fool out of yourself, okay?"
"Thanks, G-man. What would I do with you, huh?"
"Uh-huh. Good luck."
"Thanks. I'll need it."
Less than four seconds later, Percy is out of the car (Engagement ring in tow for once) and on his way sprinting to the canoe lake of camp half blood.
"Wisegirl!" Percy calls out to her figure, legs dangling off the dock. Annabeth's switched out her signature chb shirt for a nice, floral sundress that compliments her golden curls and bright smile. He's so nervous.
Can he really do this?
"Percy!" She beams, "Did you find your extra underwear?"
He cringes at his rushed excuse. "U-uh, totally!" An awkward cough, "Yeah."
"Great." She pats the space next to her. "Sit. The views beautiful."
Sitting down with a little 'oof', Percy smiles. "Yeah," He agrees, but he's not really looking at the lake.
The canoe lake, usually filled with campers, is empty— save for a few ducks enjoying the cool waters. The setting sun strikes the sky with soft, warm colours, golden hour only making Annabeth more beautiful.
"Are you enjoying your birthday?"
"O-of course. Always, when i'm with you."
She playfully nudges him. "So cheesy." Annabeth giggles.
Percy wants to take this slow— wants to be sweet, soft, sincere. He wants to be a gentleman and treat her because she deserves it— god, Annabeth deserves it— but his palms are sweating and his mind is racing and his mouth is opening—
"I love you."
Annabeth looks at him weirdly, chuckling. "And I love you too."
"You know that I love you more than ever?"
"More than ever." She affirms.
"I-I want you to know that, because I always will. And I want this moment to be perfect, because I love you so much, but today has been a very slow, very bad day—" He's reaching into his pocket, that troublesome velvet box in hand, "But as long as you're here, I know all the other days won't be that way."
Annabeth's eyes are with tears shining now, and Percy knows his eyes are too.
"I want to grow old with you. I want to love you as long as I possibly can, and I can't imagine a world without you here, Wisegirl. Annabeth Chase, will you spend every day together, with me, and marry me?"
"G-god- of course I will, yes!" Annabeth pulls him close, hugging him, tears streaming down her face, "Yes, yes, yes!"
Percy's heart is beating a mile per minute as he slides the ring on her finger, wisegirl— his wisegirl— blabbering how much she loves him and how she can't wait to wake up to him every day.
"D-don't cry, please, don't cry," Percy says, but he's crying just as much. "I love you. More than you'll ever know."
It takes a while to calm down the both of them, because they're both busy peppering kisses on the others face. It's astounding on how genuinely happy they are— years of suffering, years of wondering if every day was their last has led up to this moment.
There are few things certain in life for Percy, but he knows two things for sure: He loves Annabeth Chase beyond words, and that he wants to spend every day by her side.
