I freaking LOVE how you draw everyone just so...soft; like I bet they all feel like felt and plush during hugs. Also: do you think Barnaby would ever do that full body wag that dogs with nubs/short tails do when they're super duper happy?
ty! i try my best!
i suspect Barnaby has too much self respect. he's a distinguished dog yk! he wears a tie!

the one ability i wish i could posses that i don't is the ability to stomach horror. like objectively that is such a fascinating genre of media that i would genuinely like to get into even if only for science but unfortunately my brain Can't tell real threat from an imaginary one so i am left sulking in the corner for my own mental wellbeing

That scene post dressrosa where luffys sleeping off his fight and Zoro wants to wake him up so bad.... makes me think about how Zoro only rlly sleeps(not naps) 4hrs a day. so, he's up late a lot and sometimes gets a spike of energy and just gets bored and goes to luffys bed to wake him up bc he knows luffys always down to clown

"AI can make art without human interaction because at the end of the day, it does exactly what humans do with art - break each new piece of art down to the quantifiable basis vectors that you've implicitly constructed about 'art in general' and then faithfully reproduce a new observation of that 'art in general' by smoothly interpolating between observed instantiations of those basis vectors.
You know, like how humans do"
#the joke is that it can be argued that if you do art like an ai youre not necessarily doing art youre producing commodities#assumption being that 'art' stands in an internal tension with a society whose subjectivity is shaped by the commodity form#which i think is pretty inarguable - the argument is over how that tension can be reconciled#i think a salient difference to point out that distinguishes human from ai is the countability of the set of basis vectors#i wouldnt disagree that humans do 'break down' art in some capacity - otherwise 'style' would be entirely singular#the point is really 'how many numbers are there between 0 & 1?'#'how many subcategories are these qualia broken down into?'#i think creativity & externality depend on uncountably divisible qualia#some kind of infinity needs to sneak in somewhere to point to the outside#all this to say @ anon lol for thinking ai is like an ontological evil#but also lol @ anyone who treats the form of AI as isomorphic to the form of human activity#taylor series can absolutely objectively represent certain analytical functions - as long as the error is monotonically negative#ie so long as each subsequent member of the series 'gets closer' to a natural representation of the analytic function#mandatory disclaimer for new followers:#human use of ai for artistic purposes is art - ai cannot generate art without human interaction at some point in the sequence#ideology of the blackbox is the same as the ideology of plug-and-chug#(i know theyre the same because they transform similar inputs to similar outputs!)#& im on mobile so cant move this tag back up but i dont necessarily agree w the maximalist take of 'commodified art isnt art'#but i also think there is a qualitative difference between commodified art & non commodified art#& the ai form is actually pretty isomorphic to the value form in general imo#it cant replace all human labor but it couldnt replace any concrete human labor ...#...if that concrete form of labor hadnt become reducible to that which can be reached through gradient descent#also if u argue that the black box of 'ai breaking down art to make new art' is isomorphic to 'human breaking down art to make new art'#then an implication of that is that ai ***can make art without human interaction***#otherwise if the blackboxes are isomorphic then why have humans in the loop? whats the qualitative difference?#the proper framing is seeing ai as an augmentation of the decision cycle of humans instead of having a 'decision cycle' themselves

Ik it’s mostly talked about how autistic kids would pretend they were an animal or robot or magic creature when they were younger and well I can not relate to that Was there anyone convinced they were a cartoon character when the were younger because that’s what I did. Like not a specific character just that I myself was one, not exactly not human but not exactly a real life person either. Just a simple thing manifested by someone with a predetermined story so whenever I felt something “big” would happen my first thought would be well how is this supposed to further develop my character... Oh the plot thickens

Omg there is no way Aomine lasted longer during NNN than Kagami 😭 That bitch was lying, get him officer 🚨🚨🚨 If Aomine lasted longer than 2 days during the challenge then I am a fuckin fairy 🧚‍♀️
Also love your horny Kagami, Damn 🥵
waittttttt now hear me outtttttt!!!!!
now aomine and kagami are the biggest simps around, and whereas kagami would take my vote for best restraint because i'm a whore for him and will always be on his side, aomine wouldn't take another loss lightly.
he could admit that he'd lost in the battle against kagami in basketball a couple (few) times, but he would be damned if he gained the title of biggest simp on top of it. now i'm not gonna write aomine's loss in this ask (because yes, he did in fact lose), but you can bet he's gonna have his own post sometime this month :P

The THING about utena “massive trigger warning + changed my life” posting is the secondary characteristic of irony being deep truth. Like girlhood is dominated by allusions to and obfuscations of rape and the threat of rape. The impropriety of exposing young children to the concept puts them in greater danger. It happens to them but they don’t understand it. And this runs so deep it becomes fantastical - without direct language, children pick up on the taboo of the unsaid and apply otherworldly power to it.

I wish there was more instances of Zizel being blatantly more antagonistic, but I think her detached way of viewing the characters in the story very interesting
She bets on Claire's happiness not because she's someone who she cares about on an emotional level, but because she's fascinated with her misfortune. She wants to see an outcome where she wins because it would be against the script written for her. Zizel is fascinated with humans, acts out being a human herself, and tries to mold the story based off her own misguided understandings. Unlike Wilardo, she holds no sentimental feelings towards people. She follows her own whims based on how much they entertain her.
So while she does show a level of understanding towards human struggles, there is no respect for it. She's like the reader in a way. Because her feelings only amount to wanting to see a nicely wrapped up ending after a great struggle. She's detached, she doesn't need to grow or apply herself in the narrative, she can sit back and watch them all struggle on their own. She's just a witness to the story unfolding.

me: i think that crucial lyric 'everyone's convinced it's a government drone or an alien spaceship - either way we're not alone' is so melancholy and bittersweet there's something about it that really gets to me it's my favourite part of the whole song and makes me honest to god emotional it's the part i belt when im home alone because i just think it's such a telling of humanity, you know? like 'at least we're together' type thing-
phoebe bridgers: actually 'we're not alone' is just a scifi trope, like aliens and shit it's not that deep-
me: like the first instance of civilisation was a healed femur type of thing because one thing about us that we need to love, need to be together, like when people played music from their windows during lockdown. yes something terrible is happening it's either a government drone or an alien spaceship, two incredibly disturbing thoughts, but either way we're not alone. that's the thing that gets focused on, and it shouldn't be comforting because it's an objectively lesser thought compared to such a large threat but it just is comforting it's so comforting in an almost delusional 'we're all gonna die' way and-

starting to think that life is all about love
#actually though#I’ve been thinking so much about the way that I am#(or honesty the way that all human beings are. i don’t know that it’s particular to me)#but my heart is cold so much of the time. and there’s just this big distance between me and the things I should care about#and some of that is my analytical side and some of that is sometimes depression and sometimes it’s just human nature I suspect!#but i think so much about love as a choice. and it IS and it has to be when love isn’t something you can feel at will#and I’ve been thinking about the cold and rules-based relationship I have with God#the daily check-ins. the checked boxes. the given offering. and the lack of warmth behind it#and sometimes it’s just. man. that’s what conversion IS#the transforming of that into love. love that is warm and giving and that is my motive for moving forward#and I know those steps and check-ins and prayers and offerings are important#but I know they’re not the heart#and sometimes I see that I can’t create the warmth in me that I need#i can’t generate it#and then it all just sort of HITS#that I need to be thawed! that I am cold and distanced and uninterested and forgetful#and that I’ll never be any different until God draws closer and closer. until I can feel and understand the warmth#with which I am already loved! and held in being#and I know and believe it intellectually and most of the time I have nothing to give in return#definitely nothing emotionally#but if I WERE to. it would only be because I was thawed. because I was cracked open like an egg to use another metaphor#it would only be because Love that was greater than me would thaw out my cold cold little heart#and idk. I’m rambling and also missing big connecting pieces between these thoughts#but sometimes it hits me that the POINT of life is for that Love to change me so that I can love in response#and the actions are important because they keep me on the path. but it’s only about keeping myself in the place where the warmth of the love#of God can blast through me and change me#and that HASN’t happened. I am still cold and selfish and forgetful#but sometimes I know that that is what it is supposed to be#and it’ll probably take my whole life#but the point is: it isn’t about a scorecard or my analysis. it’s about love. it’s about love!

Cosine Similarity; For checking similarity of documents, etc.
Cosine similarity is a measure of checking the similarity between two documents, texts, strings, etc.
It does so by representing the query as vectors in n-dimensional space. It then measures the angle between these vectors and gives the similarity based on the cosine of this angle.
If the queries are completely similar the angle will be zero; Thus the cosine similarity will be: > cos(angle_between_the _vectors)=cos(0)= 1
If the queries are completely dissimilar the vectors will be perpendicular; Thus the cosine similarity will be: > cos(angle_between_the _vectors)=cos(90)= 0
If the queries are completely opposite the vectors will be opposite to each other; Thus the cosine similarity will be: > cos(angle_between_the _vectors)=cos(180)= -1
The cosine similarity, mathematically, is given by:
Tumblr media
Let's see an example:
Doc1 = "this is the first document" Doc2 = "this document is second in this order"
Vector representation of these documents: Doc1 = [1,1,1,0,1,1,0,0] Doc2 = [1,0,1,1,1,2,1,1]
Tumblr media
ΣAiBi = (1*1)+(1*0)+(0*1)+(1*1)+(0*1)+(0*1)+(1*0)+(1*2) = 4 √(ΣAi)^2 = √(1+1+0+1+0+0+1+1) = √5 √(ΣBi)^2 = √(1+0+1+1+1+1+0+4) = √9
Cosine similarity = 4/(√5*√9) = 0.59
The Cosine Similarity is a better metric than Euclidean distance because if the two text document far apart by Euclidean distance, there are still chances that they are close to each other in terms of their context.

you can use your assistants as human sacrifices to stop the end of the world, and it will change nothing. you can use your assistants as lab rats to work out the closest thing to a magic system a fear-based universe contains, and all your work will be undone in a single night. you can ruthlessly sacrifice your friends, and it will make no difference. or you can do anything to save the people you love--you can send them away before you get out the axe, you can get stabbed mid-ghost bullet extraction, you can crawl straight into hell and spend days digging yourself out for a woman whose majority of interactions with you have consisted mostly of police abuse--and all it will do is end the world. and if you cling too hard to the one you love, you might just end all the worlds. & that is how you know the magnus archives gets horror.

warriors cats is the best unintentional example of generational trauma change my mind
anon I'm not sure of what you want out of a reply from me tbh.
Are you saying that warriors cats as a book media is a great or big example on exploring the thematic of generational trauma, or that the content surrounding the series (such as fanart, fanfics and other creations) are some good examples of generational trauma or that they explore the topic unintentionally?
