It's probably weird to discuss an old cartoon, but ok, let's just talk about the fact that characters in cartoon for kids were thought out better than modern movies. ever since I was a kid, I've always admired Rose.
she was torn away from family, raised in a clan where wasn't place for love and affection. a future with the one she loves is impossible because he is the one she has to kill.
imagine: you have to hide your feelings, save yourself and your lover at the same time, combine a simple school life with this, and then you find out that your "guardian" has taken away your normal life, and your parents are alive and remember you.
and knowing all this, she had to pretend every day that everything was as usual, to be with these people side by side and for what...for sake of saving whole magical world by sacrificing herself...I still don't believe it's a kid's cartoon. so much strength, love, sacrifice and courage in a girl who was broken day after day...
