What would the Piraka and Barraki hypothetically be like in the KNPS au during its version of the Igniton arc?

I'll be honest that's something I've been struggling with. For the Piraka, making them a gang of high school delinquents would be very funny since the Inika arc is basically a glorified high school AU, but also not really what I would want them to be, both character and story wise. Part of me wants to make them teachers, to contrast with the Toa and also as a nod to how they pretended to be Toa in canon, but like. Zaktan is made of bugs and you want him to just carry on teaching math like that's normal?

Honestly I might go the route of making them be some kind of supernatural force like Krahka that has been dragged into things by Makuta for Spoiler Reasons. I could still make them teachers but in more of a "how do you do fellow humans" way. They don't have nearly the same amount of practice at Human Shit that Krahka does after all.

For the Barraki, I still want them to be trapped underwater, but with the time dilation effect thrown in there. They're like "oh we've been trapped down here for 1000 years" and Jaller and Nuparu run some on the spot calculations based on Nuparu's observational data of the time effect and are like "oh it's actually only been about 40 years give or take" and Pridak tries to claw their faces off

#the piraka are not going to call themselves 'the fucking bastards' even though that would be accurate to canon #bc although it would be v funny it would make them impossible to take seriously as a threat #and i do enjoy the piraka a lot and dont want to just be like 'haha wasnt 2006 wacky'#zaktan my beloved. he sucks so so so bad and i want him to be awful as shit <3 #i had to do math for this. are you proud of me #i picked those numbers mostly at random but. 40 years pre mahri does coincide with lhikan's time as a toa. could be something there.#unintentional! but perhaps.#knps

I can't begin to tell you guys how much I love this bit, for a few reasons:

This scene was a pretty obvious reference to Norse pagans, and generally speaking when pagans show up in a TV show it's almost always a really insulting representation done clearly in bad-faith. Marvel even did this with their references to pagans on Agents of SHIELD in the first season. Only this time around, pagans weren't *really* the butt of the joke here. Loki's consternation isn't really about the statues, it's about the reminder of what he left behind/was taken from him with regards to his family.

For those of us who ARE pagan and very specifically those of us who have had interactions with Loki as a god, he is pretty well known to be really involved in his followers' lives to a point of quite frequently being defensive of them. While the line in-context means something very different, when it's taken out of that very specific context it's so much more than that and I don't believe it was entirely accidental.

#sure in-universe it appears as if Loki is upset by the actual depictions of his family #but obviously there is something very different going on and he is not very good at hiding that lol #but that exact line taken OUT of its context is both a friendly nod to pagans who have previously been handled in poor faith #by these types of shows and even the MCU itself #and weirdly enough a reference to Loki's own reputation for standing up for his followers #although I do believe THAT particular reference was unintentional #I don't think the entire scene was an accident though #no doubt Tom Hiddleston has met Lokeans in person before #also there was a third reason but tbh it's late and I'm tired and I completely forgot it whoops

ahhh so many adapted scenes in the anime don't have the same kick as the original ones... how do i say this. they lack a certain edge?

#in the manga panel he looks really pissed off! and menacing!#in the anime it's more subtle. subdued #i guess in a way. it fits shigeo. he is holding back his emotions so as not to go berserk with his powers...#but i like to think that these more ''edgy'' expressions are unintentional on mob's part #like. he's not always aware that he makes faces that might send a wrong message to others #although in this specific context that expression certainly makes sense lol #does that make sense? i'm awful with words #quacks #continuing my reread and rewatch...#i'm also writing down notes in the notes app for fun 👍#it also helps in remembering things... even those that may seem unforgettable

Every day I must continue on with the knowledge that for like a week there was a constant stream of asks and subsequent posts on this blog revolving around an underground catboy society in the elven world that had spread to the other species, including the non-intelligent ones. The new fandom members don't know. They don't know about the alicorncatboys and the elfcatboys and how Bronte was one of the leaders of the underground catboy society...

I say that like it was a burden of sorts, but it was quite entertaining to see what people came up with and how it developed! Good times, indeed. I don't think I have any strong opinions of further animal associations with each character, but perhaps I'd discover some if I thought about it further. Actually wait what am I talking about I have a whole au where I made animal associations with specific characters I'm a liar how did I forget that.

Ever thought about Linh and dragons? Fitz and eagles? Because I have. I'm curious what your reasoning is for Bronte and Fintan though, as I'm sure I'd never guess it
