headcanons for being rodrick’s best friend:
warnings: mentions of drinking and sex + kinda strong language ?
english is not my first language so forgive eventual mistakes! hehe
Tumblr media
- you both wouldn’t hesitate to get in a fight if you hear someone insulting the other. you once got detention after punching some dude because he said rodrick will never go anywhere in life and rodrick waited in his van outside school then picked you up and almost cried at the sight of your black eye, but then he grabbed your chin and after analyzing your face he came to the conclusion that you looked cool as hell like that
- taking you to buy ice cream and paying because “she got a black eye for me, so it’s on me this time” and the cashier giggles
- everytime someone mentions that they find rodrick cute you start telling them how kind, sweet and funny he is despite the fake persona he puts on around girls and when they question if you like him given how well you speak of him you just reply:”what? no! i’m advertising him”
- rodrick on the other hand just laughs at their faces and says “she’s way too good for you” or “if you ever make her cry consider yourself dead” but if you actually start dating the person he will act ridiculously friendly like “heyyyy *name*, you are such a perfect match, that’s what i’ve been saying you know. i’m so happy!”
- you borrow each other’s clothes so often that sometimes you look down at your dirty black converse and can’t remember if originally they were yours or his
- you tattoo small silly things onto each other and you definitely have the löded diper logo somewhere on yourself
- you love to sing along to songs together. you either do it in his room, pretending you’re playing at a concert and end up listening to some guilty pleasure songs that you wouldn’t dare to jam to if someone else was there to see or in heffley’s kitchen: rodrick sitting on the counter mimicking the drums and you jumping around mimicking the guitar, susan sometimes changes the song without asking so you suddenly start hearing ABBA and rodrick gets soo annoyed lol
- you also do that to cheer yourselves up, if one is sad about someone/something the other will put up a mini concert and act silly until they manage to bring out a laugh (you use his drumstick as a microphone)
- amazing AMAZING chemistry. like he’ll say something like “remember the turtles thing” and you’ll instantly understand what he’s talking about. also same childish sense of humor.
- he truly thinks you’re the coolest person ever, whenever you do something that he finds rad like burp really loud or talk about that time you broke into one of your friends’ ex house because she wanted to take some of her stuff back and he didn’t let her he looks at you in awe and gets flustered because “my best friend is so freaking cool woo-hoo!!!!”
- you love staying at this house because it’s filled with love and chaos in a positive way, whenever you have to go home you’re sad and to survive the fights or the cold silence you cling to the fact that you’ll be at his house again soon. rodrick knows that and always wants you to stay a little longer, so his house ends up being a second home for you
- sitting in the back of his van talking about literally everything
- if you can’t find a significant other you go to prom together as friends and just take the most stupid pics that you’ll look back to and smile. and halfway through the party you’re already bored and just go outside and listen to your punk music
- you get ABSOLUTELY mad at bill at the talent show, you yell in his face that löded diper is nothing without rodrick and you proceed to rip off the paper with the band name that they attached to the drums
- rodrick feels a bit better when he hears your words and you two sit in silence for a while with his head on your shoulder
- then greg convinces their mom to let rodrick play, rodrick hugs you and you two jump up and down in excitement, you thank greg a million times
- you obviously record the exhibition just like you always do. you were there since their first small concert
- you always add your little comments that make rodrick feel so special when he rewatches the videos, like you truly care and are really a fan of their music
- *zooming on rodrick twirling the drumsticks around his fingers in the backstage, waiting for löded diper to be called on stage* “here we can see a drummer in his natural habitat... i’m glad i’m far away because i know by experience that he kinda stinks... anyway you will notice that he’s a bit nervous... and for what? hate to admit it but he’s great at what he does”
- “i hate her” he says to himself while watching the tape, while not being able to stop smiling because he’s so lucky to have you as a friend
- taking care of each other when you’re drunk !!
- he forgets how to do stuff so you have to drag him to his bed and take off his shoes and jacket
- instead you start questioning life and he has to reassure you that you’ll be okay. oh and you absolutely can’t stand. literally zero balance. so it’s so funny when both of you are drunk because who’s gonna be the stable one while walking home?!
- “god i can’t stand you two” – the friend that has to take your annoying asses home
- meeting him at the public swimming pool and dipping because that place is almost as bad a school
- greg asks you what do you see in him since you’re his friend and also a girl, you say you can’t reveal too much because that would be working with the enemy but you assure him that rodrick can be a kind, funny guy and growing up he’ll notice
- greg still thinks you’re a freak for willingly spending time with his brother
- rodrick’s girlfriend finding your clothes in his room and the both of you having to explain it’s just an habit and there’s nothing malicious about it
- rodrick forgetting about you for a week because he’s so obsessed with impressing heather, he comes back saying sorry a million times and saying that he realized it’s not as fun when you’re not around
- rodrick’s mom shipped you guys for a while and even his dad admitted that you were a good match (which he didn’t mean as a positive thing shxjdhd), but after realizing you two are just friends susan felt sad because that meant she had to witness rodrick acting like a douche to impress girls for a bit more
- one of you definitely walked in while the other was having sex with someone lmaoososos
- you couldn’t stop laughing about it when you met afterwards
- “nice c*ck/t*ts (your choice) by the way”
- “SHUT UP but also, thank you”
- you can’t say no to the other’s ideas no matter how stupid they are. rip
- being grateful for the other because “i truly couldn’t have survived school without you”
- eating A LOT of junk food
- going to the cinema to watch horror movies, sometimes he can’t sleep afterwards so you have to hold him and it’s so funny to you
- arguing every once in a while and when his voice rises of a few octaves you can’t help but laugh
- “yo, STOP LAUGHING.”
- “ok squeaky toy”
- “we’re done”
- “noOOOO”
- when it’s more serious one of you always ends up looking for the other and both say sorry
- “i can’t really stay mad at you. i just don’t see the point”
- you’re gonna give speeches at each other’s weddings if you decide to marry and it’s going to be SO chaotic :’)
- WAIT ALSO matching tattoos !!!!
- basically he’d do anything for you and you’d do anything for him and it’s a bond for life babeyyyyyy
(shorter but still cool part 2)

Not sure if this has circulated before, but here’s a link to Henry Jenkin’s reactions to 227, largely as responses to an interview he did with Sanlian Lifeweek magazine (三聯生活周刊), a publication modelled after TIME magazine and published under China Press Publishing group (中國出版集團), the largest and state-owned publisher in China. The magazine asked for Jenkin’s opinions on the fandom-related aspects of 227 back in March, 2020. Henry Jenkins, as many may already know, is among the most renowned scholars of (Western) fan culture ... if not the most renowned.
Personally, I find this article to be quite limited in perspective, because 227 had a significant non-fandom-oriented, sociopolitical component ~ and hence its scope, its chaos, its damage. IMO, 227 stopped being a fan war, stopped being about solos, cpfs, and even Gg the moment AO3 was shut down ~ the powerful Chinese state had intervened, and the incident necessarily became a political incident. That One Fic on AO3, the conflict between solos and cpfs about whether and where That Fic should exist was at most a lighter left at the scene of what would become the blaze; it wasn’t even responsible for igniting the first fire. Most i-turtles (i-fruits?) are probably aware too at this point: if fan wars are sufficient to start 227, then there wouldn’t have been a 227 ~ because 227 would have been every date of the year.
Fan culture is fundamentally transgressive, and what that means can only be defined in the context of the subculture’s “mainstream” sociopolitical and cultural environment. I therefore find the article’s attempt to transplant Western fan culture’s observations / theories / analysis / conclusions to the incident without explicitly comparing, addressing in depth the differences of the pre- and post-transplant environment to be ... prone to rejections (as organs are after transplantations!)—exclusion from being useful or valid. And this article was very short on such comparisons or address. Jenkins being a fandom expert aside (and he was careful about not treading outside his area of expertise), early “antis” of 227 presented themselves as crusaders for the freedom of speech and, by late March when this article was published, the heated debates surrounding the incident on Chinese social media had already led to embarrassment for multiple powerful state publications. It was probably a wise choice to not make another dive into the political aspects of the incident.
Being a new(-ish) turtle who joined the fandom a full half-year after 227, I’ve been backtracking, trying to really understand the incident, which remains very much beyond comprehension in many aspects. The discussions I’ve dug up that have most fascinated me have been those in non-fandom spaces, by non-fandomers / politics enthusiasts who barely knew who Gg was, who didn’t know That One Fic involved more than one idol and had zero knowledge about solos vs cpfs. In these discussions, “antis” are not referred to as “antis” because while the action of the so-called “227 coalition” was to kill Gg’s career, that wasn’t considered its ultimate goal ~ its ultimate goal was to warn whoever tried to clamp down the freedom of expression that their opposition was strong enough, populous to fight back and take away whatever, whoever those who attempted the clamp-down care the most about. In this case, “Gg fans”—I put this in quotes because eventually, no one would know who would lurk behind those pro-Gg Weibo IDs (and the anti-Gg ones as well)—were the perceived enemies of creative freedom. Gg, assumed to be the one, the symbol of what “GG fans” cared about the most, naturally became the target of the coalition.
Gg wasn’t special in that sense ~ and that was perhaps, the saddest thing I found about this incident as a Gg fan (without quotation marks); Gg could be any idol who achieved top fame at the moment, who had enough fans to make the point known. The coalition was therefore not “anti-Gg” in its ideological sense. It was anti the fan circle culture that had cemented Gg’s popularity, that had already been known to deal extremely poorly with dissent—complaints had been abound that c-ent was no longer fun for bystanders because the latter could issue no critique, not even doubt, about an idol without the fear of being reported, torn down by fans. The coalition eventually grew to include anti the many happenings, the many censorships and imprisonments in the past few years that had silenced the creative crowd in China, happenings people dared not speak about beyond a loud grumbling ...
The coalition tried to take down Gg, because they couldn’t take down the force that had shut down AO3, that was truly responsible for the silencing. They played the Hunger Games in the Weibo arena instead of challenging Who The Real Enemy Was, because some might not have given much thought about  The Enemy; some might have thought the Enemy too invincible to be worth the effort; some might have got too carried away by their blood thirst, the cruel schadenfreude of shredding a beautiful, successful young man into pieces, and forgot why they were there in the first place ...
And that was only the political side of 227. 227 was also widely suspected to have a commercial component, which added another layer to the symbolism behind Gg the Idol ~ pretty much as soon as 227 happened, netizens investigated, tried to uncover the chain of capital behind Gg. With the scent of money was the memory of filth associated with it, in a country not exactly  unknown for its corrupt business practices. Much like in The Book of Exodus in the Bible, the Idol is believed to be forged with gold; it is ungodly, tainted. Whether Gg the Person was identical to Gg the Idol, Gg the Symbol mattered to few. That Gg *was* a person seemed lost to many ...
I’ll have to dive into the non-fandom aspects of 227 with more rigour. As much as I'd love to leave 227 behind, every time I see Gg, I see its legacy on his face, in his smile, and perhaps, I’m not the only one ~ ADLAD cast him as Patient #5 because of 227′s effect on him. Put it another way, 227 is already modifying, writing Gg’s career trajectory ~ a trajectory that is undoubtedly under scrutiny by many who wish to duplicate his success but circumvent his pain. And every time I see a young idol—Gg, Dd, and anyone else—I wonder if the hurt of 227 can happen to them (again) because the crux of the incident has never been resolved; the oppression and silencing have remained strong as ever.
Anyway (sorry for the rant) ... what I found noteworthy about this article was the quotes the magazine highlighted in its published form (in Chinese), which weren’t highlighted by Jenkins on his own website. They reflected what the magazine would like to be the take-home messages of the interview. I’ve listed them below; all of which had Jenkins as the speaker:
[Pie Note: About Real Person Fiction (RPF) in Western fandoms]
“American fans often do have some shared norms about what is and is not appropriate to write, mostly having to do with protecting the privacy of other people in the star’s life. Writing about the star is seen as fair game; writing about their family members is not.”
---
[Pie Note: About GG being “cast” as a transgender woman in The One Fic that started the incident; gender in fandom]
“We write fan fiction as a form of speculation and exploration. For some people, it may be one of the few spaces in the culture where they can express who they are, what they are feeling, what they are desiring. And for others, it is a place of “what if” where they explore in fantasy things they would not necessarily desire in reality.”
---
[Pie Note: Whether GG should be held responsible for his fans’ behaviour]
“Under these circumstances, I would not hold a performer responsible for his fans’ behaviors but the performer is responsible for their own behavior and fans may respond negatively to performers who over-react to the existence of alternative fantasies and insult or hector their audiences.”
---
[Pie Note: About AO3 and why fans were so upset about its closure] “Keep in mind that AO3 is a particular kind of platform. Alongside Wikipedia, AO3 is one of the greatest accomplishments of participatory culture in the digital era.”
---
[Pie Note: About the “problematic” content on AO3]
“Among my findings were that fan fiction sites can be a valuable space for young people to acquire skills (and receive feedback) on their writing from more experienced writers who share these same passions ... That said, while teens have participated in fandom, a large part of those on AO3 are adults, engaging in adult conversations on adult topics.”
---
[Pie Note: About media text in the new media era]
“First, I would stress the proliferation of media texts at the current moment ... We have access to a much broader range of media content than ever before and in this context, fans play a constructive role in curating that content, helping some shows get greater visibility ...  Second, these texts have become more malleable”
---
[Pie Note: About idols not producing “good” media texts]
“Rather, the question should be what are fans finding meaningful about these performers and the texts they generate. I start from the premise that human beings do not engage in meaningless activities. I may not immediately recognize why something is meaningful but my job as a scholar is to understand why cultural materials are meaningful to the people who cherish them.”
---
My understanding of this selection of quotes is this: this state publication (as others) was quite ready to forgive Gg, to put this incident behind. It could choose to not publish this interview; it could choose to leave out certain quotes, or not do the highlighting that cast both AO3 and Gg in a positive / innocent light. But it did all these things. This article furthers my impression that the state never intended 227 to blow up the way it did, and that it did—enough for stories about it to be found in non-China websites, and in English—was what I’m still trying to comprehend. 227 was, admittedly, how I was first introduced to Gg beyond Wei Wuxian. And as I got to know Gg, like Gg, my want to understand 227 only becomes stronger, perhaps because only through comprehension I feel I can find peace for the GG fan (again, without quotation marks) in me.
Maybe I should email Dr Jenkins and ask if he’s looking for a PhD candidate. 5 years of research and thinking ... maybe that’s what it’ll take.
I feel I’ve already started anyway.

We Met Within This Screen (chapt. 2)
[Donnie x fem reader]
Sfw, part 1 here
Tumblr media
Intellectually, Donnie was the best matchup for their leader as today was sparring day. He'd gone against his oldest brother many times, sometimes even coming out the victor himself, but today was just not his day.
He held his staff with that iron grip of his and waited for Leo to come at him. Donnie was more on the defensive than any of his brothers; he had to be. Out of all he was weakest physically but superior in calculations, but he was missing range in this matchup. Leo had a hard time disarming him as his katana could sometimes get lodged in the solid wood staff, giving Donnie leverage to perform the finisher in the short time it took him to dislodge his sword. He thought this time would be how that would happen.
"You're slow today, Donnie," Leo said as he lunged at his brother with a swing of his katana, forcing Donnie to step back. He was too focused on blocking Leo's rapid succession of attacks to respond.
Leo reeled back to swing his blade again but Donnie parried and struck his arm with his staff, shoving it aside. For a split second, Leo actually thought he was fixing to go down by this move if Donnie could hit him again quick enough. But his brother hesitated in thought, and without any reluctance himself, he used his other katana to put him in a compromising position. The match was over and Donnie was forced to stand down.
"Why did you hesitate?" Leo questioned him, lowering his blade. Raph watched from the sidelines with Mikey as they prepared to go up next. Since Leo was the winner, it was Raph's turn next to spar in his younger brother's place.
Donnie huffed and dropped his stance, putting his staff away. "It's just an off day," he replied. Splinter wasn't there to dictate today's training session and tournament, so Donnie was already on his way out to go to his lab by the time Raph stepped up to spar. But Leo sheathed his sword and put a hand on Donnie's shoulder, stopping him in his tracks.
"You've been pretty eager to run back to your lab lately," Leo said matter-of-factly. He was wondering what was going on, why Donnie seemed weirdly distant the last couple of weeks. He had gone through a very withdrawn phase in earlier times upon entering his teenage years, but now, he was legitimately making everyone guess. He didn't snap at his brothers, and he wasn't any more impatient than usual. But something was different. He'd been spending a lot more time holed up in his lab, which everyone began to notice. Leo wanted to know what was wrong.
Donnie shifted and shrugged, "Like I said, I've been busy with some projects. Also, it's not like I have much to do out here beside training and patrol."
Leo opened his mouth to speak, but Mikey jumped on between them. "You missed game night last week! You never miss it," he butted in. Both Donnie and Leo gave him a look as if to say really? and he added in, "Well, uh...not usually."
Gently moving Mikey aside, Leo wanted to continue, but he saw Donnie staring at him expecting a follow-up when he didn't really have one. Whatever this was, Leo knew that coming at Donnie with questions was not the way to go about it. So he stepped back and gave his brother some space.
"We all have off days," Leo said finally after an awkward moment of silence. "Just work on your speed, Don."
"Got it."
With that, Donnie turned to leave, and Raph entered the ring to go against Leo in the last match of the night.
Once Donnie was gone, Leo got ready to spar with Raph. As they got into position, he contemplated bringing this recent development up with the other two, but decided against it in the end. He didn't want to incriminate Donnie, especially with Raph's assertive approach to handling things. Donnie could be somewhat flighty at times when it came to resolving matters of emotion, at times a little too introspective, but Leo couldn't fault him—he had his own struggles with that very thing, too.
Done, finally, Donnie thought as he skirted into his lab and started up the game. He was late to the party quite literally; training lasted longer than he'd thought, and he was disappointed to see that his newest friend was online, but not responding to his invite. Did everyone get together and play without him? After a few minutes, he almost decided on giving up. The instance made him contemplate whether he even wanted to continue this. Perhaps he'd been too eager.
He sighed. And then the menu pinged, and he was there reading the message in an instant.
Hey, sorry I partied up without you, I just didn't know if you were gonna be on or not :/
Without even thinking, he licked his lips typed back, repeatedly deleting and retyping his message to make sure it was casual but not too casual, apologetic but not desperate—
It's okay, don't worry about it
Likewise sorry it took me so long to get here.
That would do. He'd be lying to say he wasn't feeling that flutter in his stomach; the excitement of something new got to him in a way that only a discovery in his research did, or how he felt when he mastered a new technique in his training.
Let's get started then :)
They started the game, and this time he kept the mic on, as she did. They talked back and forth as they fought creatures and enemies and looted things, eventually coming to learn that she herself was in New York City. He was surprised; suddenly, the world felt a lot smaller, and he couldn't concentrate on just playing after that. The time they spent became more of an opportunity to converse than to play a mundane game for hours on end.
At some point, she switched the topic to his whereabouts. Donnie's breath hitched.
"I'm...not anywhere near. So it doesn't really matter," he told her, cringing. If the guys found out—if Splinter found out—he would be in such trouble.
"Oh," she paused for a moment, trying to find something to say. "That's alright, I don't want you to feel like you have to tell me, you know?"
He'd muted his mic to release a deep breath. He got lost in thought thinking about how in that moment, he wanted to be human. If he weren't a giant mutant turtle, he could actually form a connection with someone. It was a very "Mikey" thing to think, he reckoned, but at times he wanted friends just like his brother did.
"Yeah, sorry, I just…"
"It's really no problem, dude."
He felt as though he could hear the smile in her voice. What did she look like, he wondered. He wanted to see her, but he couldn't ask for that when he could never do the same. If he could get her name, he'd be in the clear to do some preliminary lookups on this person, but so far, she'd been dodgy about sharing info about herself as well. He couldn't blame her. They were two strangers online, one with a huge secret and the other completely in the dark about who he truly was. For all she knew, he could have been a creep, looking to stalk her online and perhaps do even worse. The thought made him feel almost nauseous, how she could be considering that about him as a possibility as they spoke. But she seemed comfortable enough. Unlike him, who was still slightly skeptical of the entire thing, because after spending his whole life in practical isolation, he was at a loss as to what to say or do after a certain point. The conversation died off and both of them thought simultaneously about how weird the sudden silence between them felt.
She hummed, as if searching for something to bring up. When she spoke, he was taken aback—"Hey, I'm gonna be honest, I really like talking to you but this game is getting boring. Do you wanna chat somewhere else?"
"Uh…" he trailed off, mind shooting blanks. Oh, was it just a horrible idea. He couldn't keep the jig up forever; the truth was bound to get revealed somewhere down the line. He was fixing to reject the proposition, tell her that he didn't want to take it that far. She could be anyone. The likelihood of it being a clever ruse on account of the Foot Clan was slim, but the paranoia still worked ambiently in the background noise of his mind. But his other doubt stopped him—when would he ever have a chance at this again? He wanted to have the strength to say no and leave it at that. The loneliness that crept up on him from time to time had something else to say.
"Yeah," he answered after a terribly long pause of mumbling, fighting with himself all the way as she told him where to add her. He could have kicked himself had it not been for the fact that he knew how to encrypt data, and that as long as he didn't leak a word about his inner circle or life, it would be okay. It didn't feel okay, though.
"Nice! I'll text you, see you later, Bo. I had a lot of fun tonight," she chirped.
Before he could respond, she was gone from the party, and the mic went silent. It happened so fast. He was barely caught up with the fact that he was now receiving messages and prompts to talk, but he couldn't bring himself to answer right away. He had to refocus his logic; how could this be used by the enemy as a way to get to them? Could they have somehow anticipated he'd download this game and find this random on there? The more the thought about it, the more glaringly obvious it was that it was not the case. It was just too improbable.
"The probability of the Foot being able to simulate such a specific scenario in order to get intel on us is so slim, it is practically non-existent," he told himself as he finally pulled up the messages. He read through them. "Approximately a zero-point-zero-zero-zero..."
My name is (Y/N), by the way :)
Well, that was easier than expected. He figured that somehow, the name suited you—a fitting name for such a personality. But it also gave him a glimmer of hope. It made him want to ask why you appeared to trust him, as he could be anyone on the Earth over the screen, not his benevolent self. Which she had no way of proving, technically. But he soon came to realize the screen painted him in a whole new light that it casted on him. It hit then that he could be anyone. He didn't have to be himself; not necessarily. She'd never have to know, as he could wear a human mask and she'd be none the wiser. Problem was, the lying made him feel guilty, and slowly would develop to be the thorn in his side.
Donnie thoughtfully stared at the screen. Now that he was here, some of his anxiety began to fade. He found himself actually able to talk, someone to listen to his tangents and even build upon them. They spent hours texting back and forth about anything and everything until it was almost time for him to put the phone down to leave for patrol. He felt giddy, like a kid, all over again.
________________________________________
Had you ever been able to talk to someone this easily?
You asked yourself that question as you exchanged with the faceless and nameless stranger over your screen, chatting from afternoon to night. Time flew by in an instant, with him, and you loved every minute. He was someone intellectual, but funny and so easy to talk to that it was as though the conversation carried itself. After some time he came out about his age after you revealed yours. Oftentimes, he'd just present to you a random question when the subject tapered off and run with it, like now:
What do you think of reptiles?
Puzzled, you took a second to reply. Odd question.
Why do you ask? Do you have one?
I was just curious
What do you think of them?
The chat indicator flip-flopped between "typing" and "idle" a few times before a message finally popped up, and you smiled. You'd learned over this short time that he was a dork in a cute way.
Well...I think they're pretty cool.
They've got natural armor and you would be surprised to know just how fast a turtle can be
You laughed a little to yourself. It was such a random thing to bring up, yet you were endeared. Deciding you'd go along with it, you asked him what else he knew about turtles.
Well...
__________________________________________________
Donnie was wondering what he was talking about just as much as she probably was. Stupid, he thought, facepalming. His first time really speaking with a human as an equal and he starts talking about turtles. Of course he knew a lot about them, he was one himself—but for some reason he found himself wanting to dispel myths and misunderstandings about turtles as if they reflected on him, when as far as she knew, he was just a human guy like herself.
He groaned lightly and typed, thinking up a fact that wasn't too conspicuous.
Red eared sliders are semi-aquatic.
As he typed the next part, he caught himself writing "we" instead of "they", to his dismay. He quickly fixed the error and continued, feeling weirdly exposed as it was almost as though in sharing this information, he was putting himself under a microscope for her to inspect.
They can hold their breath for up to thirty minutes, usually
Holding his breath was something he'd tested numerous times before. He and his brothers had actually made a game out of it on a few occasions, with Leo leading at thirty-three minutes, Donnie in second at thirty-one. Raph broke at twenty-nine minutes and Mikey followed behind in last at just twenty-seven. The ability could be trained, nonetheless.
That's interesting, I wonder what it's like to be able to go underwater so long?
It's kind of cool, you should try sometime
For THIRTY MINUTES?
Shit. He promptly replied:
No—not like I can hold my breath that long, I just mean you should try to see sometime I guess
I tested it just for the fun of it.
Looking up how long humans could hold their breath on average (between thirty seconds and two minutes), he bumped the number up a little bit and added:
Personally, I'm at two minutes and forty-five seconds
He was embarrassed, partially covering his face as he waited for a response. Such a foolish slip-up; he couldn't afford to say anything cryptic. But he still was fairly sure that he had recovered that alright. He couldn't help but think about how awkward or weird he seemed to her. Who talked about this?
I don't think I could hold my breath for more than a minute, kudos to you haha
Anyway, sorry to switch gears all of a sudden but if you don't mind me asking, what's up with your family? You have any siblings?
He told her no. He would not bring his brothers into this, lest it be the slim chance of a ploy, after all. He said his family situation was unconventional and left it at that.
With that, he said to her goodnight and put his phone away, getting up to go get geared for patrol. It was only then he noticed the figure leaning against the doorway.

ROTTMNT OCs
Okay first off, a bit of a preface: They’re a bit based off these guys from the 2003 tmnt
Tumblr media
fyi tho, rottmnt is my first tmnt media, I actually never got into tmnt before then because it never really interested me (I only watched media with lots of girls when I was younger,) And while I do plan to watch the 2003 n 2012 ones eventually, I don’t know much about the other turtle universes ^^; sorry!
Next thing, I imagine them being sometime after the whole Shredder arc, and being like the turtles next main foe. They’re created by Baron Draxum of course, and they’re around the same age as the rest of the turtles. Major difference is that they’re essentially “””raised””” by Draxum-- not actually, as he doesn’t regard them as his children, and doesn’t give them names, they’re called by their numbers; he’s a bad parent. He treats them like soldiers, and since they only know that sort of lifestyle, they just go with it.
They all each mirror their respective turtle, in both personality and body type/character design shape.
Second preface: they are all girls.
‘Why?’ you may ask. Simple, I love girls, and you can’t go wrong with more girls in your show! Also, goes with them being raised soldiers and having higher and stricter standards held by Baron Draxum as a sort of metaphor for how girls are raised to higher standards at a young age and don’t get to act like teens as much. (Though one of the major plot points with them is them learning to act like teenagers and have fun, through both the turtle crew and April)
Now to finally introduce them.
#1 Mirrors: Leo
I’m imaging her more-so mirroring (from my little knowledge of) past iterations of Leo. Where she’s the oldest of her sisters, has a lot of responsibilities to uphold, and is the leader of her sisters. She’s the only one of her sisters who actually looks like a turtles (I’m still deciding if the others look somewhat similar to a turtle-- like with having shells-- or are completely different animals). I’m still deciding though if I want her to be a red-eared slider like Leon, or a different turtle breed from all the main boys entirely.
She’s considered Draxum’s favorite due to her being the envisioned soldier he wanted. She follows orders clearly and concisely, is one of the strongest of her sisters. Although Draxum expects her to be cutthroat, when she actually doesn’t like the idea of being murderous. She attacks hard and strong, but she doesn’t wanna kill anyone! She’s incredibly protective of her younger sisters, and would do anything to make sure they’re safe (even if they may not do the same for her)!
Also since she’s Draxum’s favorite, he let’s her use his like seed things he uses to to make those purple vines. She uses those similar to him, but mostly to make twin swords (another relation to Leo!), and she can combine them hilt-to-hilt to make one bigger sword that she can spin around n stuff. She can also use them to make other weapons or used for other purposes if she wants to, but she prefers the swords.
Doesn’t immediately bond with Leo at first, because she’s emo and angsty. But when she grows a bit, she joins in on memeing with him. She also likes puns, and makes them a lot too! (Even in the beginning)
#2 Mirrors: Donnie
Like science nerd baby Donatello, she’s the brains of her group. Major difference is while Donnie has his *Leo voice* Emotionless Passion™, #2 is passionately emotionless! She’s like feral and just always hyped about things, but has zero morals in an evil way. I know a lot of people like to poke at the idea of Donnie going to ~the dark side~ but I never think he would, he’s still a good boy at heart. #2 however has been raised to be evil, so...
She’s part chameleon, so she has cloaking abilities, and makes tech to work with it. She probably has similar tech to Donnie, but instead her main weapon would be like a naginata (that can change and stuff like the tech-bo).
She’s Draxum’s next favorite, because she makes him new weapons.
She likes to hang out with Donnie a lot, and actually does even when their both enemies, and the exchange ideas and designs for new tech. For the ~~~science~~~ Thing is she’ll sometimes suggest something that’s even a bit too much for him.
#3 Mirrors: Mikey
She’s similar to Mikey where she’s really cute and (appears to be) the smallest of the four. However, since she’s actually a middle child, and not the youngest, so she’s a bit more feral compared to Mikey, as well as more deadly! She’s quite free-spirited, and is able to be since Draxum cares more about the older two.
She’s part poisonous frog! Thinking something like either the harlequin poison frog or the golden poison dart frog black legged dart frog! She crouches a lot, so she looks like shes the shortest, but when she actually stands up tall, she’s the tallest and is really lanky. She’s still got a mostly circle character shape to her though.
Her main weapon is her skin being deadly to touch, so she fights mostly with her fists. She may get an actual weapon, but I’m still thinking it through (I’m thinking something with a long chain to mirror Mikey's weapon, pfft). She can jump really high and far like a frog, as well as, crawl on walls and maybe ceilings idk how frogs work very well. She’s quite deadly and fast when she wants to be.
Both her and Mikey like art! They have funsies, and Donnie n #2 both eventually make some sort of tech where her skin isn't as super poisonous anymore, and her n Mikey can play more.
#4 Mirrors: Raph
She’s baby! She’s super big and hulking like Raph, but she’s the youngest of them, so instead of being the type to lunge in headfirst and think later like Raph, she’s a bit more level-headed because she has lower expectations with Draxum focusing on mostly #1 and #2. She’s similar to Raph in being a big softie, and incredibly lovable of course!
I’m not still finalized on her species yet, but She’s part komodo dragon! Quite big and deadly if she wants to be (but she never really does, she mostly would only be so when following orders). She has a large tail that she can use to sweep at enemies.
And similar again to Raph, her main weapon are her brawns. Thinking something similar to brass knuckles or blades coming from her hands (I don’t know a lot about ninja/shinobi weapons, but I do know they have stuff like that).
Her big sisters are very much protective of her. Mostly emotionally, not physically, because they know she can defend herself.
Her and Raph both like plushies, talking about their siblings, and training with each other to hone their own abilities/strengths!
Major character development with them, is spending time with April and learning teenager things (probably eventually getting phones through her help), she also gives them names (I personally headcanon April gave the turtle boys their names, considering Splinter tends to call them by their colors), and while #1 is the first to initially protest it--  with the others being on board with it-- she eventually gives into it, and it helps all four of them become more of their own selves. I haven’t decided what names yet, because I don’t know a lot of Renaissance artists, sorry ^^; this is also why I refer to them by their numbers in the entire post too...
Another scenario is they kidnap Leon and Donnie, #1 and #2 go disguised as them (because #1 looks most similar to Leon, and #2 has a similar body type to Donnie, and just has to add a few things and use her cloaking to look like him), and they use this to infiltrate the turtle lair. There, #2 tries to survey everything, and studies a lot of Donnie's things. #1 has a heart to heart with Mikey over her self-esteem/high expectations issues. (She also becomes protective, like over her sisters, over Mikey because of this).
Another scenario that can really be a part of anything, is a situation where they have the turtles down, and Draxum wants #1 to finish them off. While the others are whatever about it--possibly #2 n #3 excited about it (mostly because they don’t have as much of a good sense of morality yet, except for maybe #4)-- #1 is very hesitant about it, and eventually tries to sneakily let them go. Leo's the first of the turtles to catch on that she let them go and that the Draxum soldiers are likely not pure evil or unredeemable; which eventually leads to wanting to help them escape Draxum.
They also eventually do become friends/siblings with the turtles, and either Draxum becomes a good dad or they ditch him. Though this is more-so an end-of-arc situation where then they’d might eventually leave NY and go somewhere else to fight evil yokai, and like sometimes visit the turtles and April for funsies.

Super Sonic Thieves Chapter 6
Chapter 6 - Thieves Vs. Spies Vs. Robots
Intro Cutscene:
Sly: “Well, thieving around with Otto was fun, but he had to get back to the ‘war effort’ eventually, which meant it was time to move on. I took a quick look at the Thievius Raccoonus and it looks as though we are moving forward in time again, to go see my grandpa, Bruce O’Coop, who is one of the less known members of the family. I don’t remember much about him, but I do have a vague memory of him of someone telling me he actually worked for the US government once. And according to the Thievius Raccoonus, that was true, he was their spy who infiltrates groups suspected of being communists. Heh, how appropriate a thief does a spies work. :P And Bruce would go on to steal from confirmed Soviet Union spies. But it seems an investigation he went on lead to him disappearing. Something about that doesn’t sound right, Coopers don’t disappear that easily.. Looks like we’re off to visit America to find him.”
Sly Cooper and the Gang in…
*A view of a ‘50s computer monitor is shown and ones and zeros appear into they form a picture of the title card ‘Thieves Vs. Spies Vs. Robot’ .*
-----
Hub Layout:
Setting: Undisclosed southeastern state’s swamp (New Orleans, Louisiana)
Gang Hideout: An empty, abandoned home outside of the city.
Surroundings: The safe house sits near to the river and ‘houseboats’ float up and down the river. On the other side of the bank sits an abandoned mansion to the east. North leads into the city of New Orleans, but it oddly seems quiet... West of the safe house is a swampy region, supposedly untouched by civilization, save for any voodoo practitioner. And to the south is a long road, separating the river and swamp.
Enemies:
Policeman Pawn: Pawns in police uniforms that’ll fire their pistols at you if they spot you. Drops 9 rings.
Army Pawn: Pawns in military fatigues that carry machine guns. Bet you can figure out what they’ll do with them. Drops 11 rings.
G-Man Pawn: A dapper pawn in the government black suit that carries around a briefcase. Get their attention and they’ll drop them on the ground, bringing up a turret gun that shoots bullets at you. Drops 13 rings.
Ruski Pawn: *Russian accent* He’s your standard spy pawn from the EGB. Very dangerous, as they can control nearby terminals to fire machine guns hiding in walls, trees, etc. They are invincible (unless you sneak attack them first. :P ). Drops 15 rings.
Treasures: (None. Sly isn't around long enough to warrant it. Besides, more treasure was used in the last Chapter. Also the reason why there are no Sly guards about.)
From Pedestals:
200 Year Old Gumbo Pot: No booby trap, but Bruce is needed to open the cage it’s in with his cane. Worth 1000 coins and 500 rings. On a pedestal near the entrance to the city.
Golden Mardi Gras Mask: Fall damage booby trap. Worth 1250 coins and 625 rings. Hiding on a roof of a building in the city.
Silver Tiara: Bomb booby trap, 1:30 minute timer. Worth 1500 coins and 750 rings. Hiding on a building in the city.
Voodoo Necklace: Not booby trapped per se, it will raise spirits to attack you as long as you hold it. Worth 2000 coins and 1000 rings. Hiding on a pedestal in the swamp.
The coins have a design of shrimp and gumbo on them.
Secret Clockwork Sighting: Hiding among the trees in the deep swamp.

Recon on the Bayou
Take recon of New Orleans
Bentley: “Alright guys, you know the drill by now. Get some recon photos of the area so we know what we’re dealing with.”
Sly: “Understood buddy.”
Vector: “It’s a good thing you chose me to go with you. I can swim in the river and swamp so you don’t have to.”
Sly: “Really now? Thanks… Say, Vector, does New Orleans seem a bit different to you?”
Vector: “We don’t exactly have a New Orleans, we do have a similar place that does Mardi Gras… but I sense what you mean… it feels… quiet. Definitely not the right atmosphere, and it’s not the swamp behind us.”
Sly: “Yeah… well, we better not keep Bentley waiting, let’s go.”
*The player takes Sly and Vector to the river first, to take a recon photo of the houseboats and abandoned mansion.*
*Once done*
Sly: “Hmmm… there’s something odd about them, but I can’t put my finger on it.”
Vector: “I have to admit those houseboats look suspicious, floating only around that mansion… Protection perhaps?”
Sly: “Maybe… aw well, move on.”
*The player now heads off to the city. Once there.*
Sly: “I knew this place was too quiet. No one is here.”
Vector: “Seems Metal Sonic has taken over. Look!” *He points to a nearby billboard which has an animated Metal Sonic, which goes into a terrifying face to scare people.*
Sly: “Hmm…”
*The player takes recon of the billboard and the transmitters in town.*
Sly: “Why does he need transmitters?”
Vector: “I’m not sure… I think we better move on.”
*The player then moves on to the swamp. In there…*
Sly: “I see Eggman has made the swamp his place of business.”
Vector: “Yeah. Hey, look at that gate.”
*The camera turns to a huge gate blocking access to going deeper in the swamp.*
Sly: “I see there is no way in… the gate is too large for us to break.”
Vector: “Yeah, and I can’t swim under it. We better return to Bentley.”
Sly: “Yeah”

-----
Bentley: “Is this really all the recon you could get?”
Sly nods. “Sorry. There just wasn’t a lot to work with.”
Bentley: “Hmmm… what do we do next then…”
*Just then, as you could call luck, Bentley’s computer starts going off, warning of a hacker trying to hack his computer for information.*
Bentley: “What the? Who the heck is hacking my computer?”
Sonic: “Is it Eggman?! Or Metal Sonic?!”
Bentley: “I’m not sure. I’m gonna have to fight them off.”
-----
A Hacker’s Desperate Plea
Beat the Unknown hacker
Find the hacker
*The player is sent straight into a hacking game, right into a battle against the unknown hacker. This hacker is kind of tough, sporting a huge AI ship. Whoever it is must be a part of the FBI, since the main part of the ship has the FBI insignia. The player has their work cut out to cut the guy down to size, but fighting smartly will make sure you win.*
*Once defeated...*
Bentley: “AHA! Success! I know where he is! He’s in the city! Let’s go! Sly, with me!”
Sly: “Do you think we should use the van?”
Bentley: “No. I think I may have spooked the guy. We have to get there fast, but silently. Come on, let’s go.”
*The player now has a set time limit to run into the city and make it to the waypoint set out to the coordinates of the hacker.*
*Once there...*
Sly: “Looks like we are just in time. He’s just leaving now.” *A turtle comes out of the building.* “Hey, he reminds me…”
Bentley: “Of me? I’m with you there. I wonder if he might be my grandfather… I don’t exactly remember him but this guy brings up the feeling, especially with the way he hacked. It seemed like mine.”
Sly: “Well, all we can do is ask him about who he is. I guess I’ll go first.”
*Sly goes and stops the turtle in his tracks.*
Sly: “Where are we going in such a hurry?”
The turtle jumps and hides in his shell in fear until he sees the raccoon feet. “Damn it, Cooper! You scared me! Where the heck have you been? I’ve been left dealing with this case alone.”
Sly stands in confusion. “Uh… whatever you’re talking about… all I know is that you have hacked my friend’s computer, and you’re going to tell me why.”
The Turtle: “Huh? Your friend? Wait… are you even Bruce?”
Sly: “You first. Why did you hack us?”
The Turtle: “Well, you make yourself obvious when you’re the only other computer signal in the area.”
Sly thinks and says: “... Fair enough. Bentley, come out.”
*Bentley comes out from the nearby shadows.* “Considering his bad eyesight, I think it’s him.”
The Turtle: “Who? What?!”
Sly: “Well, I’m not Bruce, I’m Sly, his future grandson, and this is Bentley, your future grandson.”
The Turtle: “Bentley? Hey, that’s my name too, though I like Ben better.”
Bentley: “I think we better continue this at the safehouse.”
Sly: “Agreed.”

-----
Sly: “Once we returned to the safehouse and told him we’re from the future and helping the Cooper line, Ben told us everything.”
Ben: “I guess… if you guys are truly from the future and want to help… I’ll spill… Bruce and I were sent here to New Orleans by FBI orders to investigate Communist rumors spreading in town. Unfortunately… it’s much worse than we thought and makes me wish it were Russians. There’s these metallic… things just roaming around the city, scaring everyone away. And they seem to be controlled by an even scarier being with large spines!”
Sly: “Sonic and the others confirmed that he was talking about the Egg Pawns and Metal Sonic.”
Ben: “I think he’s connected to Bruce’s disappearance… I see you guys went to the swamp, from your photos… he went there to check out those things… but he hasn’t returned… I think your Metal Sonic guy grabbed him…”
Sly: “It was pretty clear… we had to go and find Bruce. If Metal Sonic is as bad as they say he is… well, it might be better to act now.”
-----
Bentley: “Alright. Ben, Tails, and I have thought on this, and are pretty certain on one thing: We need to rescue Bruce from Metal Sonic’s grasp. Of course, we know this is tough. Metal Sonic is definitely not like the last of Eggman’s lackeys. Metal Sonic is a very smart android, pretty much the supercomputers of supercomputers. Even Bruce didn’t have a chance.  Hopefully though, our combined genius can beat that. Sly, you and Vector should go back to the swamp, in search of Bruce.”
Sly: “Got it.”
Vector: “Alright.”
Bentley: “And if you see anything interesting, recon it and we’ll deal with it after getting Bruce. Now let’s go.”
-----
Swamptastic Voyage
Take recon of the deeper swamp
Find Bruce
*Sly and Vector sees the gate from earlier has been busted open by some force, breaking them off their hinges.*
Vector: “Wow… that gate was destroyed like it was nothing! Well, I guess that means we can head on deeper.”
Sly: “Yeah, but we better be careful. It could be dangerous in there.”
*The player heads on deeper, and find themselves passing by big machines that are draining energy from the swamp and New Orleans.*
Vector: “I wonder what Eggman is sucking up?”
Sly: “If I had to guess from past experience, he might be taking in supernatural energy. Swamps like these have tons of that energy.”
Vector: “Guess we should get some recon of them for Bentley.”
*The player takes recon of the 4 collectors as they head deeper into the swamp. Soon, they find themselves at the mouth of a cave.*
Vector: “This seems to be the only place we can go… think Bruce is in there?”
Sly: “I think so… only thing we can do is check.”
*The player enters and finds plenty of platforms and modern laser traps that make traversing the cave really difficult. Making it past rewards you with finding a very scared Bruce.*
Bruce: “Hoo, boy, you’ve really done it now, Bruce. Got caught by an angry android and now getting stuck in this cave. How elite I am.” *He hears Vector and Sly coming* “Aha! What monster dares to attack the mighty hacker Bruce, brave and strong!?!”
Vector appears. “Hey, Sly, it’s Bruce.”
Bruce: “AH! A CROC! DON’T EAT ME!!” *He curls up and hides his face behind his tail, waiting for the moment of being eaten.*
Sly appears. “Bruce, we’re here to rescue you.”
Bruce: “Huh?” *He moves his tail to see Sly and Vector smiling happily* “You are not going to eat me? You a friendly?”
Sly: “Well, my croc friend is. And I am as well, Bruce.”
Bruce smiles, then remembers his FBI training. “Hey… wait a minute, how do you know my name?”
Sly: “Well… we did find your friend Ben in the city, alone.”
Bruce: “Oh, my! Ben! Thank goodness you rescued him! It’s scary out there!”
Sly: “And… since I think I have to say in good conscious… I’m your future grandson. I came back in time with my friends to rescue you.”
Bruce thinks and says: “Hmmm… future grandson? I oddly believe that… heh, us Coopers are a mystic bunch. I mean, take me. I’m a hacker of 50’s computers!”
Sly: “Heh, Bentley’s going to like you. Come on, let’s get out of here.”
*The player leads the trio out of the cave and into the swamp again.*
Bruce: “Ah, the beautiful sky! How I missed it.”
Vector: “It does look pretty actually. That cave wasn’t as tough as it looked.”
Sly: “Yeah… almost too easy… almost no problems getting him out… Was it-”
*A dark and sinister, mechanical voice breaks the darkness.* “A TRAP? THAT IS CORRECT, SLY COOPER!”
*Metal Sonic, looking very dark among other things swoops out of the dark underbrush and grabs Sly.*
Sly struggles to break free. “Hey! Let me go!”
Metal Sonic: “RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! EGGMAN’S ORDERS ARE TO EXAMINE YOU.” *He flies up into the air, out of Vector and Bruce’s reach.* “AND DON’T THINK ABOUT FOLLOWING ME, YOU ARE TOO WEAK TO DEFEAT ME.” *He flies off to the east.*
Bruce: “Ah! It’s that scary fiend!!”
Vector: “And he took Sly! We got to tell the others!”

Amy mutters: “I know that…”
Bruce: “I’ve lost my future grandson!” *He cries a bit, but then changes to anger.* “No… I’m going to get him back! I think I know where he is!”
Bentley: “That’s good! You and Vector can go and save him! Meanwhile, Silver and Murray, you should destroy those supernatural energy collectors, so we can weaken Metal Sonic.”
Murray and Silver: “Got it!”
Bentley: “Next is to stop the transmissions of Metal Sonic in New Orleans.”
Ben: “I think I can stop them, though I think I’ll need you and Rouge’s help to protect me.”
Rouge: “Sure thing.”
Bentley: “And finally, I think those houseboats should be destroyed. Ben and Bruce seem to think they are filled with guns, and I agree with them.”
Tails: “Leave that to me! I’ll shoot them down with the RC Tornado.”

Silver: “These supernatural energy collectors are huge! I wonder how we can destroy them…”
Murray: “Easy! We just throw big things at it!”
Silver: “True… Well, we better get smashing.”
*The player has Silver and Murray grab or telekinesis various big rocks, machines, and other object at the large collector. Some pawns will come in as you’re destroying the machine, but it shouldn’t be too hard. Destroying the machine makes it explode, releasing the energy back to the swamp.*
Murray: “YES! Explosions are always good!”
Silver: “Well, we got three more big explosions to have. Ready for more?”
Murray: “Always!”

*Ben moves on to the next transmitter, while Bentley and Rouge fight off Egg Pawns.*
*This is done 5 more times for the other transmitters, protecting Ben and hacking the computer.*

Vector is speechless: “Uh… where have I seen that before…”
Bruce: “It’s a Sonic Cane, able to hack any mechanical lock, in this case, this computer! Why hack computers with my mind when I can just stick my cane into them? Hah!”

Carmelita: “Damn… he’s too strong for my shots, Sonic.”
Sonic: “And he’s flying too high for me, but I doubt homing attacks can damage him either right now.”
Metal Sonic: “FOOLS! IF YOU ARE DONE MAKING A MOCKERY OF YOURSELVES, I HAVE OTHER PLANS.” *He starts to fly down a street.*
Sonic: “We need to keep up with him!”
Carmelita notices a nearby police car that has its keys in the ignition. She hops in and turns it on, and beckons for Sonic to enter the passenger side.. “Get in, Sonic, time for a police chase!”
Sonic: “Alright, cool!” *He gets in and Carmelita speeds off after Metal Sonic.*
*We change our view to the safehouse, where Ben, Bentley, Tails and Bruce have succeeded in hacking the city to their whim.*
Bentley: “Yes! We have got complete control over the transmitters and traffic lights!”
Ben: “Alright, grandson! Now you and Tails deal with the draining transmitters. Bruce and I will change the traffic lights.”
Tails: “Got it!”
*We enter a virtual map of New Orleans. There is a symbol of Metal Sonic and a symbol for Sonic and Carmelita that follow the streets. Any street intersection can be chosen, where there is an option to change the lights so the green will be on the other directions of the intersection. On the side is a meter of Metal Sonic’s supernatural energy. The goal is to drain away all of Metal Sonic’s energy by making him fly by a working transmitter. Once he flies by a working one, he loses a ⅙ of his energy then destroys the transmitter so it can’t be used again. Do this for all 6 transmitters to move on to the fight. Do note that with the more energy he loses, it will get a bit harder to get him to pass by a transmitter.*
*Once he is completely drained, we return to Metal Sonic and Sonic and Carmelita.*
Metal Sonic lands as his supernatural shell disappears. “I SEE YOUR FRIENDS HAVE DRAINED ME. NO MATTER, I CAN STILL BEAT YOU.”
Sonic: “Bring it on, you useless hunk of metal!”
Carmelita: “Let’s see how much shock you can take.”
Metal Sonic: “I WILL DEFEAT YOU, AND EGGMAN WILL SUCCEED!”
*Now it is time for the player to fight Metal Sonic and defeat him. His offence includes firing laser from his spines that spread backwards, firing plasma blasts from his hands (like Carmelita’s shock pistol), firing a larger chest laser that he can move around, and firing a huge ball of plasma when he’s desperate. The fight is mostly of Carmelita firing her shock pistol at Metal Sonic until Metal Sonic is annoyed enough to fire off his huge ball of plasma. It absorbs Carmelita’s shock shots, so Sonic needs to run up and attack Metal so he hurts himself with the plasma ball. Then the duo can wail on the short-circuited hedgehog until he gets back up again. Do this as many times as needed until he is defeated.*
Metal Sonic: “... I MAY BE DEFEATED… BUT EGGMAN WILL SUCCEED… THE EGGMAN EMPIRE IS COMING… ARE YOU READY FOR IT?!”

Outro Cutscene:
Sly: “It was a hard fought battle for Sonic and Carmelita, but they had stopped the rampaging Metal Sonic. It was a little weird to explain to our grandparents that he couldn’t go to the FBI, but had to go to Sonic’s world, but once they knew they had their own government agency (GUN), they happily let him go. They said they’ll note in their reports that they quashed the rumors and there seems to be nothing more. Afterwards, we did spend a little time with our grandparents. They were quite a fun bunch to say the least. I see why me, Bentley, and the others had the chance to meet up. I wonder where our adventures will take us next…”
Next Time: It’s time to get anime in Heian Japan.
