You know, @purble-turble's AU of A Test of Time always reminded me of "Oh No!" by Marina and the Diamonds,

and I've tried to make an animatic but I've got like.... 0 motivation. So instead I'll just talk about why the lyrics remind me of it.

Starting out pretty simple, the first few lines of the verse represent Redson's start of his deception, and what for me is his denial.

He knows what he's doing is wrong and he tells himself that he isn't actually enjoying his time with them and that he's just doing it for the greater good of his family, to finally get his hands on that staff.

But as the lyrics go on, I like to interpret it as him starting to realize his forming obsession with MK, hence the "I'll never soften my grip" He's scared of letting him go, he's already starting to realize how deeply infatuated he is with him, so to avoid losing him he starts doing the unthinkable.

This is basically an excerpt of the fic and how his obsession started to form from there.

more examples being:

"Of course MK loves me. Of course he does!" He looked at Red Son again, his eyes still not quite focusing on him, but there was a renewed intensity in them when he spoke. "And I love him ! We belong together, you and I both know it!" "But... I was going to betray-" "That was also the night I decided," King Red cut him off, not even seeming to hear him start speaking, "I couldn't let my parents kill him. I had to do everything in my power to protect him- to keep him safe."

He isn't going to soften his grip, it didn't matter if he ruined a perfectly healthy relationship to make MK his

For me, when Marina sings this with that warbled effect on her voice it really accentuates for me Redson's slow descent to madness, how he was willing to do anything to make MK his.

Then he stopped, frozen in place by what he saw. Red Son crossed the room and approached the shrine, reaching out with a trembling hand to pick up one of the many framed photographs. The one he'd grabbed was a picture of himself and MK together. Red Son had his regular old jacket on, but his hair was let down like how the future version of himself wore it. His arm was wrapped around MK who had on an expensive-looking orange robe and several pieces of red jewelry. He wasn't smiling at the camera like Red Son was... in fact, he looked downright miserable. It only took a moment more of staring at the photo before Red realized why. The matching red jewelry he was adorned in almost made him overlook it, but Red Son recognized the design of the circlet around MK's head. It was modeled after the golden fillet- the tightening charm used to control the Monkey King. To torture him! The frame fell from Red Son's grasp and clattered to the floor as he stumbled backward. It was too much to take in... King Red had said he and MK loved each other, but he had been torturing him?! This was wrong. This was so wrong.

Here, when Redson finds the shrine in Demon King Red's room, he finds out that he had been using a replica of the golden fillet on MK, so that way he wouldn't escape.

Like I said, he did ALL in his power to make MK his, it didn't matter if it meant hurting him.

These lyrics only further prove my point that it perfectly represents his descent to madness "I just wanna change" is more of a mantra to "gotta make him mine". Though in other instances, it can also be referred to how Time Travel Red down spirals in wanting to change his personality. But since we're talking about how I would've done the animatic then yeah, creative liberty. Take it as you will.

Here's an example of him going crazy btw. More example scenes I was going to animate.

At first he had been trying to get a good look at the figure, so it took Red Son a moment longer to notice what was on the monitors. Every screen was filled with footage of the Monkie Kid... his Noodle Boy. Footage of him driving the delivery cart, playing arcade games with Mei, fighting demons, even some of him just walking down a street. This was... so creepy . What was he doing? Watching recorded surveillance of MK in the middle of the night?? Why ?! As he continued to stare on at the scene in absolute horror, he suddenly heard something. Red pulled in a deep breath, trying to quiet the sound of his own heart pounding in his ears so he could listen closer. At last he was able to distinguish the extra sound from the audio playing on the monitors... the king was talking. He was whispering to himself as he watched the screens in front of him. Focusing a bit more Red Son was able to make out some of the words, and... he wasn't talking to himself, he was talking to MK. He was... telling him about his day. He could hear the mumbled words miss you over and over again interspersed through barely coherent sentences. Red Son felt his tears come back in full force. He had to clamp a hand over his mouth to prevent an audible sob from escaping... this was horrific. It was not the glamorous future he had thought it to be. It was a nightmare! He had lost his parents, he'd lost MK, and now it was clear that he'd even lost his sanity. The Demon King Red had nothing .

This is, once again, taken from DKR's perspective. He knows that he wants MK, that he wants to be MK's beloved, his darling. He knows why he acts like a ruthless beast to be able to get what he wants. Does that mean that he has the morality to break away from that? No =D. Which is what brings us to what would've shifted the perspective in my hypothetical animatic

(Btw any artist with motivation feel free to take this idea pls I am desperate to see this be an actual thing)

With these lines, I say that this is when Redson truly started to realize the deep, fucked up situation he was in. After seeing DKR huddled up looking over at the monitors he ran to the graves of his parents which is a good scene to use with the "Oh no's"

At the sight of the decorated shrine, Red Son felt whatever tiny thread he was using to hold himself together finally snap. Suddenly he was on the floor, unable to pull himself upright; his whole body shuddered with the force of a scream of anguish he couldn't contain. They were gone. His parents were really gone. And it was all his fault. He should never have gone through with that plan... he should never have even tried to trick the Noodle Boy into a fake relationship in the first place. Clearly, all it had brought was a disaster. If only he hadn't proposed such a stupid idea to his parents, then they might still be here. Red Son would have been able to walk in here and find them alive and well. Instead, all that was left was this... a destroyed palace and some dusty shrine mementos. All he had ever wanted was to prove himself, to show them that he was capable and worthy of the family name and their love. To come to this future and see what had become of them... and as the result of a terrible scheme that he himself was the author of? No, this was too much to bear.

After this, we cut to an already busted-up, pretty mentally scarred Red, who is trying to convince the others to trust him

These lines really describe his mentality perfectly since Redson is already close to losing it if he can't defeat DKR. He was already so distraught with all of the news that this timeline has brought to him, and now he feels pressured to be different by his own mind's standards. If not by the others then by himself, because his mind simply doesn't allow for him to screw up.

Calm was exactly what he needed in this situation. His future self was clearly a maniac driven purely by his emotions- specifically obsession and anger. Red Son couldn't let himself appear that way in front of MK and his friends here. He needed to keep himself in check... to stay cool, calm, and dignified. It was the only way they would be convinced he wasn't like the king. Maybe if he did a good enough job, he could even convince himself that he wasn't. -and- He would do everything he possibly could to convince them to help and that he wasn’t like King Red, but that future version of him had caused a lot of harm.

are good examples of this.

It's the namesake of the fic. Need I say more?

Aside from that, it also perfectly encapsulates Redson's past and now crumbling current ego. Normally Redson would act like he's the best due to his giant ego, but ever since a talk with Mei and the other monkie kids, he's learned to hate that side of him, so now this line in the song is kind of a jab at what little self-worth he has left. It's how he sees himself.

"Yeah pretty much," Mei said, "I mean, you coulda just told us about this weakness instead of doing some big reveal with the bike and all." Oh. Hmm… That did actually give Red pause. For some reason, it hadn’t even occurred to him to just come right out and say what his weakness was. He felt like he needed an invention or something he could physically hand over along with the information. He wasn’t really sure why. He hadn’t thought about it. Red began poking his fingers together thoughtfully as he responded in a somewhat sheepish tone, "Ah, yes... I suppose that's true..." he mumbled, "but I just wanted to-" "To show off," Mei finished for him, "yeah, I'm not surprised. Because you know who else is all dramatic and attention-seeking like that? King Red ." Once again, that familiar jolt at the comparison hit Red Son right in the face, as real as if he'd actually been slapped. Damn it all… even when he was trying to help, he ended up reminding these people of his evil future self! He looked away, nervously rubbing his hands together as he did. "Well, I... I can be a bit... boastful at times, perhaps," he said, "but it is a big deal for me to share this information. I suppose I was hoping for more of an acknowledgment of that, is all." This was followed by a quiet moment as his audience of four exchanged glances of varying expressions.

Man I flipping love this fic, it gives me so much to work with! And the decomposition of a boastful and egotistical character like Redson is so... natural!

This is how Redson sees DKR. It's pretty straightforward, he feels as if the obsession with MK has taken over every inch of his mindscape, driving him mad. With this line I would have shown a comparison to DKR and Redson, and how the timeline split into both falling mentally ill, in different ways of course XD

Because if you think about it, in the end, Redson is still obsessed with MK, but instead of being selfish he's selfless, and worryingly so. I feel that he'd do anything to keep MK safe from himself even if that meant that he could wind up dead. He has little to no self-worth, whereas DKR has WAY too much self-worth it is almost narcissistic.

This line is a perfect example of what I mean. Redson doesn't find the thought of being with MK appealing anymore. If anything he finds it horrifying. He might want to be with him badly, but how could he? How can he try to go back when he knows that this is what he'll act like in the future? Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if when Redson does manage to get back, the first thing he does is break up with MK with tears in his eyes explaining he's a monster and doesn't deserve him and that MK should stay away from him, and he'd run away from the sheer fear of causing pain to MK. This would leave our poor past MK confused and probably distraught as to why Red looks so afraid of him.

I would've shown these lines with a progression of Redson basically losing it, and becoming the quiet, kindhearted, but mentally fucked up, dude he is now.

HE CUT HIS HAIR IN ANXIETY FOR FUCKS SAKE

And yeah, the fic goes into great detail on how much Red's demeanor changes through this fic.

Now these lyrics hold a different meaning when looking at Time Travel Redson. He knows exactly what he wants and who he wants to be, the exact opposite of DKR. He needs to be the opposite of him, or else he'll become just like him

for the rest of these lyrics, I would've just added different images/transitions of important stuff that happened in each chapter, which would then lead to an important event in my head that id like to call "The possible showdown". which is the possible future fight between the monkie kids and Redson against DKR and his royal court.

Struggles struggle struggles! Internal struggles with Time travel Redson :3. During this line Redson is finally trying to get that grip on DKR and is still internally fighting off that fear that he'll end up like him. Eventually, though, he's able to (in my eyes idfk, probably not in the canon of this fic) defeat him and go back

The rest of the song, I have not really planned out yet, but with some nice ass visuals, I'm sure it'd look really neat :3

I just finished answering all the asks I had piled up on my main blog, so imma do the same thing here! The time has come... So basically this post will just be me answering every remaining ask I still had lying around in my inbox on this blog! Enjoy!!!

Adventure Time Related Asks

(in reference to the Fionna and Cake finale)

You see I get what you mean, but for me it's less to do with time and more to do with what they spent the time they had doing. I really don't understand why AT feels the need to shove Shermy and Beth into everything. Also I really don't understand why they thought the best way to make a grown ass 50-something year old man who survived the apocalypse and 1000 years of trauma learn that his relationship wasn't perfect was through a video game. And I really don't understand why the crew thought the best way to showcase this was to literally spell it out to the audience like we are toddlers (especially since F&C is supposed to be for an older audience apparently). I agree with the conclusion, but I really hate how it was executed.

@samhadjblog2 I completely agree with this! I like what the show was going for, again I completely agree with the conclusion it came to, just the way it got to said conclusion was incredebly underwhelming and frustrating for me T_T (also big agree on Simon's main flaw being his insecurities and how passive he was in his relationship with Betty, to a point where he didn't do enough to prevent her from hurting herself)

@wintercandle42 Honestly I'd die for a fic that goes into scenarios I've explored in my own Ice King analysis posts and while I rly appreciate the offer I generally only work with friends or creators I'm already fimilar with! Even so, I rarely collaborate in general T_T. I'm sorry, but ty for offering!

Miscellaneous Asks

Anon, not to be James "Mr. Plagiarism" Somerton but I'm stealing this. (it's so funny I love that)

Yes!! I love indie animation (indie anything rly)

Obviously I'm fimilar with the big two (The Amazing Digital Circus Helluva Boss) however my favorite indie animated series are actually The Vampair Series, Threnody and ENA !!! Ofc, I also love watching indie short films or other such shorter animations on YouTube (I actually have a playlist of some of my favorite animations/animatics on YouTube if you wanna check that out)

Oh and I'm following the development of One of The Powerful! It's a series made by only one person, and those ones always impress me so hard. (if you are interested the creator recently made a series development blog on Tumblr! @oneofthepowerful)

Honestly, one-man-team type animated series are super cool to me. Sch Ribbit is another artist/animator who made their own series just out of their sheer passion, and he was always a huge inspiration to me growing up! (an example of stuff they'd make is their Jaden Unshaked series. even though it's scrapped and a bit old, I still find it super cool!!)

But yeah I love indie animation!

@the-rumbybagg-cake I don't play Minecraft and I never watched any Minecraft YouTubers! I also rarely watch gaming YouTubers in general, so nope!

Weeeell one of my usernames online is Krejzac (made up word that uses worldplay to fuse Croatian and English, and that basically means crazy person)- so that checks out!

Thank you for asking anon! I've def been doing better lately! Gonna be real, late fall/early winter wasnt the kindest to me (I was sick for a long while and then the seasonal depression hit where I wasn't going outside at all, and till relatively recently I was barely socializing and was just girlrotting in bed all day. A mix of social battery dying out but also generally feeling rly drained), but I do feel a lot better now! I'm getting back on track. Hence why I've finally felt able to answer all the inbox messages lol! But fr ty for asking ;w;!

Though I mostly post clean sketches on this blog haha, I don't rly post a ton of stuff with lineart XD I think it's rly funny (but also feeds my ego) when ppl say they like my lineart and then point to my clean sketches. Don't get me wrong I love to hear it!! TYSM!!

@cloudbustingss (I assume this ask is refering to this fiasco) Yea you are correct! I know I shouldn't respond to angry randos blowing up at me over nothing, I generally avoid it. I just felt like I needed to in that instance, mostly to make other ppl aware in the fandom that "hey if all it took for this person to blow up and start being transphobic and just generally cruel was a drawing of a GNC cishet couple, they'll likely be even worse if they encounter actual trans art or art made by trans ppl, probably block them if you wanna avoid them doing this to you". But yeah usually I avoid responding to ppl like this, I've been online for long enough to know it's not worth it (I've learned through trail and error XD I used to respond to everything when I was younger. Tbh I'm still learning to control my "I wanna respond to this mean person" impulses but I'm getting better I think!) In any case, I appriciate the advice ty!! ;w;

Good Omens 2 bits (part 1)

Imma watch this again and actually take notes the second time around, but I just wanted to do some points on things I noticed on first watch:

- I love how the Bentley actually IS sentient (or at least some version of it) and changes it’s personality a bit when Azirapale drives it (is it bc he actually changed the Bentley? How did he manage to actually change the Bentley? HMMMMM??? awfully sus Crowley)

- Another thing about the Bentley, idk if they were actually there in the first season, but you can VERY CLEARLY see the bullet hole stickers that Crowley got the one time he got petrol just so he could get those damn Bond bullet hole stickers. Nice touch.

- Apparently Crowley’s flat is property of Hell??? And that’s why he has to live in his car the whole time now that he’s a traitor??? Do you think Crowley has been only sleeping in his car and spending the rest of his day in the bookshop? One of the lines in Crowley’s confession would seem to support that but idk.

- Onto the bookshop now, absolutely LOVE how Aziraphale learned his bloody lesson the first time about how IF YOU OWN A BOOKSHOP DO NOT HAVE OPEN FLAMES WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY MEASURES!! I was dying when them using electric candles in the circle finally hit home and Gabriel saying “Look there’s plenty more fire extinguishers up here!” absolutely killed me. I was dying of laughter.

- Another thing about that climax... I absolutely fucking LOST IT when Aziraphale did the halo thing. Neil mentions it in the introduction of the script book about how Good Omens was almost made a movie before and... well... take a look for yourself:

the FUCKING DISCUS HALOES MADE IT IN FFS!!! I was dying, as soon as I saw Aziraphale go for the halo I was like, “oh Neil you better FUCKING not have” and then he did, and I had my face in my hands and couldn’t stop cackling at the madness I had found myself in.

- Another thing about this script book, I noticed this just through the trailers but they did cement it in the show:

They did it, they managed to put it in there. I honestly teared up a bit when I heard it in the trailer, cuz it was something that Terry had suggested. Hell, it even ended up becoming Gabriel and Beez’s song (yes I know those of you who shipped them are probably over the moon right now at becoming canon, I’m still in shock that what I considered a joke ship actually happened, but I am honestly happy for you and they are.... admittedly disgustingly cute together)

- Another song related thing, I am SOOOO happy that good old fashioned loverboy finally got the love it deserved. It only took us all making so many animatics with it and fanfic titles with it’s lyrics, but I’m glad to see that the Bentley thought it was fitting.

- It’s also nice to know that before the Fall, Crowley was at least a Dominion or a Throne, but my bet is on being a higher power than that since I don’t think they’d just let ANYONE make the whole galaxy (also LOVED that scene btw, such a great opening to come back to).

- I think the last things I’m gonna mention are the whole nazi zombies thing (why is it ALWAYS nazi zombies?? It’s so weird to see them here, anyone else immediately think of COD??) and the fact that this instance of Aziraphale’s magic act is at least probably part of the reason why Crowley reacted the way he did in the first season to Aziraphale wanting to do magic for Warlock’s birthday (that and he already knew that his magic wasn’t very good as he says).

But yeah I’ll probably have more thoughts later since I am going to watch it again and take proper notes this time, but even though that ending was heart breaking I still really enjoyed it whole heartedly. I’m pretty sure my smile was plastered onto my face for most of the show. I know not many people will see this, but I hope you enjoyed and I’d love to gear about any little things that you noticed. I am absolutely LIVING for this fandom rn.

Yeah, okay, I give up, you won, yuppie for you people-

After months and months of procrastinating (and miserably watching animatics and drooling over fanart) I have finally caved in!

I started watching the Dream SMP streams...

(And jesus christ, I'm starting to understand why everyone in this fandom is so lowkey deranged - it's to match the characters :D)

((but seriously, wth people, what even is that server???))

Anywayyyyyy, I just finished watching the End of S1 (Pogtopia vs Manburg) and while that mess of a finale deserves a post of its own, for now, Imma just going to leave the main things of the series(?) that have stuck out to me the most thus far:

Tubbo has been my favorite ever since he first got to the server

He’s so sweet and kind, and able to bring such lightness to some of the blander scenes

But then he also has these random moments where he just becomes chaos is fun! :D, or throws these sharp af one-liners that make everyone go “ohhhhhh” - they never fail to make me laugh my ass off

Basically, he’s excellent, and if no one else, I really wanna see where his character goes after S1

(why the fuck did he become the president tho?? who thought putting a traumatized teen in charge was a good idea??)

The Hamilton quotes and references sprinkled all over by Willbur and Tommy are like oxygen for me

It's ridiculous how a couple of Minecraft discs hold so much goddamn power in this server - but like, in a good way

Everyone is just so afraid of Techno and Dream, it’s so funny to me

Every time Dream came to the server, everyone just stopped what they were doing and got on high guard

Meanwhile, Techno’s monotone voice and constant dry, witty commentary made him sound so much more approachable and human, no wonder the others let their guard down around him!

I gotta say tho, I barely watched any stream of Dream or the players closest to him (I watched mostly Tommy&Gang POV), so his character is very cloudy and uncertain to me

Tommy and Schlatt, for what little interaction they had together, had some of the funniest “filler” streams with one another (when Schlatt first joins and is banned, and later when Tommy is building his roller-coaster)

Fundy is so freaking sweet, his streams and videos are some of my faves to watch

Jschlatt’s voice had already won me over the first time I heard him, and yet the more I heard it whenever he was in character, the more my love for his voice grew

Speaking of Schlatt, I genuinely adored his character so much. I almost wish he hadn’t died, he was a great villain in my opinion

Also, his ship name with Quackity is “Pumpkin Husbands” and I find it unreal those two got such a cute ship name

There are so many goddamn inside jokes like I feel no matter what I do, how many streams I watch, or comments I read, there will always be a joke or a passing comment I won't understand

Like a game with way too many variable endings, so many that one person can't play through them all

But uhhhhh yeah, overall I gotta admit it’s been fun, I’ll probably continue watching for a bit longer (there go my plans to catch up to One Piece anytime soon- )

Just saying it will do! It’s based on those old werewolf stories where calling out the person’s name will change them back into a human/cure them, and a lot of the time it was by accident.

(My favorite is the one where they slam the door on the wolf’s tail and then say his name, and the dude ends up with a wolf tail for the rest of his life.)

Since clothing fills into the body type of the intended wearer, they would indeed be able to control all arms/legs in buggieman clothes.

Why EVE is The Best

Heads up. I’m basically gonna sperg about this whole film, so spoilers for this twelve year old film. Enjoy!

Wall-E is one of my favorite films; I would gladly kill and extort to bring the sequel I had in mind to life in any way; animatics would pleased me if nothing else but anyways. I love this film and one of the biggest reasons for that is the character EVE, a character that stuck in my mind longer than most if you can believe. So, better time than any, Imma just ramble about why I love this character. And, before we begin, I’m gonna say EVE is a girl, Wall-E is a boy due to my brain believing they were respectively female- and male-coded for most of my life but do NOT let this stop you from envisioning them however you please. If they’re both girls or boys to you, all power to you. With that said, here we go...

The Design

Now I’m not saying she has the greatest robot design ever; I don’t look at eggs and remember better days when I got to watch that film for the first time in my old house. But Pixar certainly knew how to make simplicity work to perfection. Simple shape, simple mechanics, simple movements. All feeling right at home with her coming from the more advanced future, especially compared to Wall-E where he’s literally a more grounded looking robot. Thematically, this design is fucking genius. A scouter robot with the ability to fly with ease and yet carries a literal arm cannon with incredible fire power. Both expressing how she can have her head in the clouds, observational when necessary, and yet trigger happy amidst the slightest inconvenience or surprise. *MWAH* What the fuck? It’s a great duality where the hard, more logical exterior possesses a sweet and approachable core just waiting to be shown and it’s wonderful seeing Wall-E, this literal block head, fumble his way into having a simple conversation with her. Now I can’t really disassemble how the programming in Wall-E works where they can behave like humans but follow objectives like a machine... but, I can try. With this scene.

Now take this with a grain of salt, the inferencing is more to the imagination otherwise the fun of this movie is tarnished. But from this scene, it’s clear that in this universe robots can show feelings for one another but can’t be romantic with humans because they can recognize human emotions and reactions but do so in an automated sense. The film expresses their curiousity just enough to where their reactions to human things and functions are within reason and yet doesn’t toy with the viewer’s believability. EVE is capable of responding to Wall-E’s advances but doesn’t 100% reciprocate his feelings because Wall-E isn’t her directive (least not yet, that’s for later). Not to mention, she isn’t that adept at romance unlike Wall-E who, by being alone with Earth’s technology, was able to learn and process human romance through the Hello Dolly VHS and potentially other things over the years. So this conversation works with the two having their limited knowledge, we don’t know how much they know, and the film keeps focus on having a balance between somewhat logical reactions and minor impulsive humane reactions that makes them alive but only just enough so it doesn’t feel like them being robots is pointless... Phew. Speaking of which, you know what isn’t pointless? Her motherfucking buster cannon.

Her whole ass arm houses a gun capable of nuking an entire cargo ship in a matter of seconds and it makes sense that she’d have it cuz how can a scouter robot defend themselves but beyond that, it’s just so goddamn cool. Like yeah, I can express how this symbolizes about America and... how they want to fuck their guns or something but who cares. She has a FUCKING ARM CANNON and it’s badass, end of discussion.

The Hanger Moment

Much as I love the moment where the two are in space flying, I honestly say that this moment where the two are in Wall-E’s house during the darude sandstorm is incredibly important. EVE is reasonably taken to his home and naturally, when the lights come on, she looks through the stuff he gives to her. She gets to take it easy for once, things can be quiet after she blew up a whole ship, have a giggle or two at the trinkets he’s collected, with the cigarette lighter being a good tool that’ll be used for later.

She’s curious, bouncy, still a bit quick on the draw, but is nonetheless taking in a lot this robot on Earth has to offer. It’s this and the small 1v1 they had before that is a lovely seedling to not only their connection but EVE’s development on her own, where we hardly need dialogue to show how she’s feeling about it all. And yeah, I’m with plenty of people to say that if this movie was just about the two of them being on Earth it probably would’ve been the greatest Pixar film of all time for many. Fortunately the plot kicks in when Wall-E shows EVE the plant, forcing her to go dormant, thus pulling Wall-E into an adventure on the Axiom ship. And I say fortunately cuz this is where EVE goes from good to great as a character.

The Axiom

While it’s something where we all wish that this film wasn’t the densly plotted, society driven second half, I say the second half on the Axiom carries the film’s themes and character building for EVE to good heights. We enter EVE’s territory, the slick, iPhoney synthetic world where humans have become literal potatoes and everything’s more or less automated. For EVE, the first half of the film lets us see the more playful side of her and doesn’t mind being around Wall-E, but isn’t immediately won over with the concept of love. She’s still goal-oriented and trying to keep the two stuck on Earth would’ve made her arc as open-ended and ambiguous as The Good Dinosaur. Time on the axiom puts her original sense of thinking to the test when Wall-E tags along.

To share the bigger picture real quick, the human element of Wall-E is complimentary to Wall-E and EVE’s humane behavior. To quote RealJims’ honestly flawless analysis, “What better way to show the humanity in a robot than to be among humans that act like robots?” For Wall-E the robot, this works perfectly as a fish out of water story. His time on Earth affects not only a few humans, but other robots like MO and the secretary machine, as minor as it seems.

So when Wall-E seemingly fucks things up, EVE is rightfully peeved. His slip ups especially with the Diagnostics scene tests her goal-oriented nature and patience, to a tasteful comedic strength. Doesn’t mean they now turned Wall-E stupid, the film makes sure the monkey wrenches are only accidents from someone severely out of the loop of things. This leads them and us well into

The Depths of Space

The scene where Wall-E gets launched in the escape pod thrills me with joyfully painful suspense every time. EVE making a mad dash to him as Wall-E madly tries to get out of the soon exploding pod, leading to it exploding and we get this from EVE. The wide eyes of terror followed by the whispering “No”s gives me shivers every time I see it in full.

Now one could argue her concern was more for the plant getting destroyed, but I say she was more frightened at the idea of both Wall-E and the plant getting nuked. While Wall-E did make her mad, she nonetheless cared about him and wasn’t expecting the tiny bot asshole to send him to death. So it’s like, “Oh no, both my purpose and the one that helped me are both gone.”

Luckily, thanks to some foreshadowing, Wall-E made it out alive with the plant in safe keeping and EVE seeing Wall-E actually care about her goal makes her beam with joy, being that reasonable spark that brings the two closer together. I mean if your love interest cheated death to help you out, why wouldn’t it? Everything about this moment is what made EVE stick with me long after I watched the film; the emotional journey the director was able to convey with her is so well-built to this point, it’s still amazing how they were able to do it with little dialogue or facial expressions. I especially love the emptiness we get of the two of them in space, where it adds focus to the two of them especially. But my god, that’s only half of it...

The space dance sequence between the two is still one of Pixar’s most gorgeous scenes. The way Wall-E is able to keep up with the fire extinguisher after having trouble in the film’s beginning, the wide shots of space, the lovely glow of the engines, the music. I especially like to think of this scene as a parallel to EVE’s initial flight on Earth. For her, it was that rite of passage after the touchdown and now she gets to share that same moment with someone she’s grown to like or appreciate. Then again, this isn’t the moment where EVE loves Wall-E. We’re close, but we need that one inch to finally show her the truth. That’s when she sees

The Recordings

The moment where EVE gets to see the memories of her time on Earth, including her dormant stasis, is where shit finally clicks. She essentially gets to know how Wall-E felt not only about her, but about love. Even when she couldn’t be there, she sees now that Wall-E cared about her and is able to process what Wall-E processed when he looked at Hello Dolly at one point. Scene also works because getting her directive, or the plant, was generally done and done with, she finally gets time to focus on something else, on her feelings for someone else. This leads well into... the well that leads to...

The Dumpster Moment

The scene with the recordings is where things finally click, but the moment with EVE and Wall-E in the ship’s dump is where it comes together. After getting betrayed yet again by AUTO, EVE’s concerns are now less with the plant and more for Wall-E and thanks to the moment previous, I can totally buy this. It’s teeth gritting seeing her try to rescue a now broken Wall-E from getting ejected into space and losing his energy thanks to a destroyed chip. So when we see her finally toss the plant aside and says Wall-E is her directive now, I tear up. It feels like a genuine, built up declaration on her part; the moment where EVE can rationally return his feelings ten-fold and truly be there for him. But that isn’t all to it, because Wall-E reasonably struggles his way to the plant to show that to save him, they need to get to Earth which means getting the plant back to the core of the ship.

This gives EVE newfound resolve and puts that to the test, where she has to basically defect against AUTO who’s become the physical antagonist of the film. The escape sequence is a bit of a step down since putting humans in danger doesn’t really affect the film’s themes all that well, but I can’t argue that pitting the captain against AUTO is a bad climax.

The Death to Wall-E

Thinking about this film after so long, it is still pretty fucking shocking to realize how punishing they treat Wall-E in the final act. It’s even more shocking when you realize how the roles have reversed, where Wall-E focuses more on EVE’s goal with the plant instead of EVE herself and vice versa. Then again, I say it’s fair that they did this, to show how much Wall-E was willing to sacrifice for the one he loves which makes the painful wails we hear from EVE feel all the more impactful. Like you’re serious with her as she struggles to accept his death before they reach Earth. And speaking of Earth...

The Finale

Now, I can’t help but argue it’s an unfortunate plothole that EVE is somehow able to fully repair Wall-E in spite of never fixing anything else in the film. Then again, it’s fucking pumping seeing her move quick to put him back together and it’s that final stomp on the heart when, even when he’s fully restored, Wall-E bares no memories of her or anything. You see her desperately try to get him to remember anything only to be met with an emotionless, reset shell. In finally understanding Wall-E’s feelings of love, she can’t really be with him. Until...

True Love’s Kiss Saves the day

I can get scientific with how getting his memories back was possible, but I won’t because the scene just works. It’s quiet, takes it time, and that last eureka moment with the two truly get to hold hands makes up for any scattered logistics. I’d say this is where Wall-E finally gets the love, but the same can be said for EVE, after everything she went through. I’ve admittedly seen a few talk about how the female lead is only valid through the love of another, typically male, but I believe what works 120% here is that the two characters basically have themselves figured out, Wall-E more than EVE, and EVE’s journey is never hindered for a sudden realization to love. She still succeeds in her mission, but the stakes for her have risen once she comes to terms with her newfound feelings and these feelings aren’t out of pocket. Wall-E has his feelings for EVE from the getgo, but dedicates to helping EVE with the goal, even if it means death. The connection they get to have is earned and is what drives the plot. EVE earns what she realizes she wants and that makes her a great female protagonist in my eye.

The Conclusion

Wall-E is a pretty warm movie; a film how the love of two brings humanity to salvation and vice versa. How EVE and Wall-E’s love is synonymous to the intertwining of modern and older technology to shape the world. But honestly, that probably wouldn’t have worked as well without how great they made EVE as a character. Wall-E is great too, but it’s astonishing to see EVE’s journey with Wall-E and show her natural growth of understanding something as warm as romance. Her journey is pretty synonymous to how I feel with the movie overall. The time we get of them on Earth is symbiotic to the time we get in space; we get an intimate journey that expands to a film about society but remains personal and intimate nonetheless. And with EVE, we get this superbly fleshed out character that’s emotive, understanding, and above all gets a resolves that’s awesome to see every time I catch or just think about this film. What else is there to say?

They’re the Best.

Look, I love them all but these have a special place in my heart.

Quackity, Slimecicle (I am fully aware he just joined but I still love him), Schlatt, Tubbo, Eret, AweSamdude, and Ponk.

They're just great in and out of character and just have comforting vibes.

when did you first start watching the smp and what made you get into it?

I gotten in during the Pogtopia era since it took me a while to get access to the streams.

I mainly gotten in with the Sad-ist War animatics along with me trying to catch up on Quackity's VODS. Just someone that I was already familiar with being an easier shift into story and learning others through him

what is your favourite part about watching the smp?

Just watching everyone interact with other and just seeing the plot progress in real time. Its literally just dnd but with extra steps but I enjoy it so much

The improv that they all do is amazing and how everyone have different approaches to their characters makes my writer's side so happy with dissecting everything.

What piece of cursed lore is your favourite

That Wilbur canonically fucked a fish and Philza canonically fucked a Samasung fridge and just seeing the fanbase try to change into something that will at least make a bit more sense.

Slimecicle and Ranboo: They're the same person but in different fonts, you can convince me otherwise

Schlatt and Quackity: They managed to be super funny together with all of the jokes and balanced with making a very realistic abusive relationship work. It was always fun seeing them flirt with each other for a joke then get hit with whiplash when canon comes in to remind me that this isnt healthy

Tubbo and Tommy: They're two dumbasses who share the same braincell but then they constantly lose it and Tubbo mainly has custody of it

Wilbur and Schlatt: I just enjoy seeing Schlatt messing with Wilbur and occasionally flirts with him to get Wilbur more pissed off

Who are your comfort streamers

Quackity and Slimecicle are comfort streamers

Eret, Fundy, and AweSamdude are my comfort people (meaning I dont watch them as much but I find comfort in their presence. And the other two are also under this category)

Who is your favorite character

Quackity due to how complex his character is and yet how it looks so simple

Quackity: Just how he managed to make his character seem so basic but in reality its really complex. And just seeing the shift from him being a chaotic force of nature to being a serious character that is trying his best to reach something that has been hanging over his head is just *chefs kiss* and he always delivers amazing lines on the spot.

BadBoyHalo: He is doing great right now, even though he is a bit rusty with starting he still manages to get into character and stay in character the entire time. When slowly easing in, you can tell its a bit forced but once he finds his footing, he knows how to deliver his lines.

AweSamdude: His entire bit where he was getting rescued from the egg fucking hurt. How he sounded weak from the entire thing and tired to where he just wanted to rest was so well. And I know he can act more energetic when he was accidentally dragged into playing a cop during Quackity's and Bad's date

Fundy: You guys need to give him more praise for his acting because he is fucking amazing at it. The little touches to how he voice when speaks is so good along with his body language in game. He knows what he's fucking doing and I love him for that. And when he snapped, it made complete sense if you payed attention to his character

I didnt add Ranboo because he's automatically at the top section due to him being a dnd player. Same goes to Slimecicle even though he hasnt acted yet. I dont make the rules. You play dnd, you know how to act

Before Doomsday, Quackity going to take his horse far away from L'Manberg, it being the one thing he cares about. It was just so good

The entire Schlatt and Quackity argument in front of the white house

The meeting between Schlatt and Quackity with Schlatt yelling out to him in a taunting way to where Tommy and Quackity are trying to figure out what happened to the tnt. I constantly rewatch it to feel the adrinaline pumping to feel something

Wilbur's slow descend into insanity and talking to Tommy. Just showing his paranoia and fears consuming him, him projecting his fears into Tommy as an attempt of manipulation, and his hero complex shift into villian one

Schlatt's winning speech of him projecting it as something that was bound to happen no matter what. The amount of charisma and confidence that was in his voice as I was watching Tommy hiding underground in fear was just a perfect scene

Tommy's argument with Dream when everyone is protecting Tommy. Its the small details of Tommy taunting Dream to kill him, knowing he wont no matter what. Him telling everyone to protect Tubbo and everyone listening without hesitation.

The debate that Quackity and Dream had for like 11 or 14 minutes. All of that was completely unprompted unscripted, it was just so satisfying seeing someone stand up against Dream for the first time and actually beating him. Sure it was in a verble conflict but it still counts as a defeat

Im sorry, but all of the Jackbox stream. You need a specific group of people to play together in order to actually make it funny and keeping the energy throughout the entire thing.

After a bit later, everyone has a tendency of pandering to the audience and repeat jokes. They managed to beat jokes to the ground faster than Tiktok AND Twitter.

Dont get me started with DreamTeam being in there. They're funny in thier own rights but the shipping jokes get so unfunny so quick and they dont know how bounce off of others well. The only exception to this is when Quackity, Velvet, and Ant were playing with Sapnap and Dream. And thats because they decided to mess with the straight white guys into accidently saying offensive shit and seeing those two suffer with trying tiptoe around was so amusing

Whats something about the smp fandom thay makes you sad

This doesnt get me sad, just frustrated and its mostly towards dsmptok and dsmptwt but sometimes this fandom doesnt fucking know how to analyze characters. Like when everyone jumped on Tubbo on being the bad guy when he was a kid trying to use old tatics that knows that worked before and stand up for himself

How when one person decides to do something that they believe is right, everyone just throws the term villian arc around

When one person does one good thing the suddenly everyone accepts into them being good and not ever looking into it.

For fucks sakes, I saw people keep saying that Quackity was turning into Dream or Wilbur and I just sat there being confused on how they conntected those dots that were in different books.

Its so frustrating to read through. But here on dsmpblr, you guys actually understand character analysis, are able to critique them and able to love whoever you enjoy.

Another thing is how this fanbase really puts everyone on a pedestal or objectify them. Just completely forgetting that they're human and treat the streamer as a character. Like, yeah they're playing up a persona whenever they're making content but theres a difference and you shouldn't hold them up like that.

You cant use the argument of "They're young, they dont know any better", when I first entered my first fandom (I was like 11/12), I fully understood that theres a boundary between me and the creator. What they are on screen is a persona but they're still human and I should treat them as such. Its just something that bugs me and its unnerving to see whenever people start getting wierd about it

Final bit is just how the twitch chat acts. They all force the streamer to follow the 'main' plot of it being Tommy or Techno or whoever the fandom chooses to have a favorite, completely ignoring the fact that they are their own character. No one wants to meta game because where is the fun in that but the fucking chat gets so annoying when the streamer goes against fanfavorite of the week. It drains the fun of it being multiple pov's and different characters.

When Slimecicle was barely starting stream I saw so many people spam "Go with Ranboo" and not let him even get into lore first. I hated that I knew it was coming but it was still so fucking frustrating seeing them try to boss him around. Please just let people live outside of the 'main' plot, not everything revolves around your favorites. Now shut the fuck up and let them play

Also yesyesyes I love animating, I actually went to school for it!!! I’m thinking about doing more fleshed out tutorials on youtube in the future but some overarching advice I can give is, if you’re looking for something fluid, really take it step by step! A storyboard/animatic, even if it’s super simple, then a quick pass with simple shapes and quick lines, and then you can start going in with the more detailed animation! Sometimes I even do another cleaner pass before getting into the final lines, but it’s so much easier and much less frustrating if you can fix the animation flow when it’s still just blobs your working with ahahah!

As for illustrations, never be afraid to use refs!! More often than not, I have an image of posing people and a couple artists that inspire me on my canvas which makes the process a lot easier, we don’t have to make everything purely from our imagination, artists have always taken reference and inspiration from the things around them, just be sure to make it your own when you do that :D ANYWAY THANK U AGAIN, IF U WANT MORE SPECIFIC POINTERS FEEL FREE TO ASK TwT <333

“Day to night to morning, keep with me in the moment. I'd let you had I known it, why don't you say so?” Yashiro didn’t think he’d hear it. She wasn’t singing loudly, the song just came to her unprompted as she cleaned the girls’ bathroom. At least, to her it wasn’t loud. From the corner of her eye, she could see the mokke having a small dance party, jumping from sink to sink. She supposed that the mokke didn’t mind her singing. Unbeknownst to her, neither did the apparition of the bathroom.

“Didn't even notice, no punches left to roll with. You got to keep me focused, you want it, say so.” Hanako came from the rooftop when he heard someone sing in the bathroom. It sounded like Yashiro, but his ears couldn’t believe it. Once he saw though, there was no denying it. She had her eyes closed as she mopped the floors. He quietly rested atop the door to the third stall, almost cat-like. He rested his head in his hand as he watched her dance with the mop as a smirk formed on his face.

“It's been a long time since you fell in love. You ain't coming out your shell, you really ain't been yourself.” Yashiro continued to dance her heart away while mopping the floor. Hanako’s eyes softened as he watched her give her soul into the song. The smirk on his face slowly turned into a smile, his eyes never leaving her figure. She’s really cute like this, he thought, especially when she’s not yelling. He quietly snickered to himself before resting his head in between his arms. “Tell me what must I do—do tell, my love—'Cause luckily I'm good at reading.”

“I wouldn't bug him, but he won't stop cheesin’. And we can dance all day around it.” Yashiro spun around, a smile on her face but never looking up. She danced with the mokke, who seemed to be repeating the phrases like background singers. They jumped around, occasionally sliding across the floor. She let out a giggle as she set down the mop. The floor seemed clean and shiny, all that’s left to do is to let it dry. She removed her gloves and set them to the side. “If you front then I'll be bouncing. If you want it scream and shout it, babe. Before I leave you dry—“

Perhaps she mopped the floor too much. Maybe she didn’t pay attention to where she cleaned. She figured that she was lost in the song that one part of the floor was clearer than the rest and didn’t notice. Or maybe it was all in her head and that she was naturally not thinking at that moment and really thought it was a good idea to step on the recently cleaned tiles. It was definitely the last one that caused her downfall. Literally. She barely had time to react as she found herself getting closer to the ground. She let out a shriek as she raised her arms to her face.

“Gotcha!” Yashiro opened her eyes, mere inches away from the floor. Arms wrapped securely around her waist, she turned to face a smiling apparition. His face was closer to hers than the floor as his grin only grew. His teasing smile did not make her cheeks flush. No, that’s not what happened, it certainly didn’t make her breath hitch. It definitely didn’t make her want to hide her face. It undoubtedly didn’t make her stomach fill with butterflies. It certainly, unquestionably, definitely, did not make her heart race.

“Ha-Hanako-kun!” She stammered. Yashiro liked to believe that she wasn’t fast. When running, she found herself at the average level. Not an impressive feat, but she found herself moving faster than the beating of her heart as she tried to stand up. However, Hanako didn’t let her escape from his grasp, only tightening his hold on her. His smile softened, something Yashiro was grateful for until she found his hand inching closer to her face. Instinctively, she closed her eyes. She wasn’t sure if she was trying to hide from him. However she was, undeniably, not closing her eyes for a kiss.

“You never told me you could sing.” Huh? Yashiro opened her eyes. His hand brushed a stray lock of her hair from her face. His touch was so gentle. Maybe it was because he was an apparition, or maybe it was affection. Her train of thought stopped as she recalled his words. Her cheeks flushed a bright red as Hanako smiled at her. He wasn’t teasing her, at least, she thought he wasn’t. Did he hear her sing? That’s a stupid question, he probably did. How long? Why didn’t he say anything? Did she sound bad? Did he like it? Why should she care if he liked it? Why is she not asking these questions out loud?

“You’re a good singer, Yashiro. I could listen for hours.” Her blush worsened as her eyes grew wide. She stuttered out incoherent words, her mind raced as she tried to find something to say. Hanako let out a giggle as her eyes refused to look at him. What should she say? She could thank him, but she found her self esteem dropping exponentially. She could ask any of her questions, but she couldn’t find the right one to start with. Her mind came up with a blank as she stopped speaking, even though she knew that the jumbled up words were nonsense. Hanako snickered. “Not a bad voice for a daikon.”

She lunged at him. She hit him in the chest with her elbow, grunting as it made its impact on him. She didn’t expect to fall down with him. Clearly she forgot that he had an iron grip on her waist to prevent them from falling. Except now she fell. She fell on top of him. She unmistakably didn’t fall in love with him. There is no falling in love, just falling. Hanako let out a grunt while Yashiro was debating on whether or not to apologize. On one hand, it probably hurt a lot. On the other, he called her a daikon. A decision was made.

“Don’t ever call me a daikon.” Hanako watched as her expression changed from flustered to pouting. It was cute how her expressions can melt his heart. He let a smirk form on his face as she looked away, blushing slightly. Hanako saw a scale appear on her cheek. When did she get it? Almost like it was second nature for him, he reached out and dried it off. For a moment, they stood still, not moving. They supposed that Akane literally stopped time, but the small movement of her eyes as she stared into his denied it. He must have been staring for a long time, before he let out a laugh.

“Whatever you say, babe.” Nothing stopped Yashiro from backing away. She may have knocked a few mokkes out of the way. Her back met the third stall door as her face flushed pink. Hanako tipped his hat as he walked away from the bathroom, Yashiro screaming out incoherent words. Perhaps it was because he was too far away. He could admit that seeing her annoyed face made his heart leap. Her blushing expression did not keep the butterflies ar bay. While all of that is true, there is no denying one thing: he felt something deeper than butterflies and faster heartbeats when he watched her dance and sing. It was a good feeling. He liked it.

BONUS:

“Day to night to morning, keep with me in the moment. I'd let you had I known it, why don't you say so?” A few days passed as Hanako found himself singing the song too. He sat on the rooftop with Yashiro and Kou as he quietly hummed to himself while they ate their lunch. Yashiro didn’t know whether to feel happy that he liked the song or annoyed that he was probably mocking her. Her thoughts were interrupted by a groan coming from the young exorcist.

“That’s the fourth time I heard that song today!” He exclaimed. His outburst shocked the two, Hanako immediately stopping. They looked at each other, not knowing what to do. Instantly regretting it, Kou slumped down and ran a hand through his hair. Embarrassed, he muttered an apology to them.

“Fourth time?” Yashiro tilted her head in confusion. They spent a fair amount of time together before lunch. How could he have heard that song three times before now? Kou sighed. He didn’t want to tell them, but he supposed it was good to let it out.

“Mitsuba kept singing that while class was ongoing.”

hum I’m not super active on here to begin with but considering that I do eventually want to make this a Proper Writeblr, imma post a short thing about where I’m currently at with my wip’s and what I’m aiming for going forward in the desperate hope that I’ll be able to stick to my plan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Putting it under a read more cause it got long :P feel free to ignore my ramblings about where I’m at creatively

I have two wips going on at the moment, Odds & Ends and Unnamed WIP. Odds & Ends has been my main focus the past few months, but it was also one that was supposed to be a way for me to work on dialogue and different narrative styles, and as such has been going v e r y slowly. I have ideas for it, but it’s an effort to write it in the style I want to write it, and it’s making it more difficult for me. Since I’ve been hitting a wall with it, I’ve been avoiding working on it, and that’s no fun for anyone.

I’ve been thinking about Unnamed WIP a lot the past few days, though, and I might shift my focus to try and push out a chunk from that one in the upcoming weeks. It’s one I’m working on with a friend, which creates another hurdle to tackle because we need to figure out a way for us to write it together using very different story tastes, VERY different writing styles and experience, and us both having add/adhd and forgetting about the story for weeks on end (yikes)

But I have a lot of free time now, and I’m determined not to let myself just waste the days away. I have several projects I can occupy myself with, but tend to be bad with sticking to self-discipline, so it’s a coins toss whether I stick to my plan or not.

These are roughly my goals:

Minimum of 1 hour of coding practice each day, which should be doable since I tend to lose track of time when I’m doing it. I want to continue on with Python, but also start learning a couple other languages once I’m a bit further through this course

Minimum of 20 minutes of writing each day, just working on the stories in some way or another. 20 minutes is a small amount of time, but right now I just want to focus on building a consistent habit before aiming for larger writing goals

Do yoga or some kind of work out each day wow I’ve been sitting way too much lately

Read! Generally I try to read a bit before I go to sleep and I want to maintain that habit

Continue on with the embroidery stuff, I want to keep trying it out and maybe do some embroidery on hoodies or shirts or something

Draw draw draw! I finished a sketchbook last week and started a new one, and I want to try and sketch out some roughs for the animatics I was planning on doing ages ago

That’s kind of it, I think? Props to anyone who actually read through this, thanks for listening to me ramble about how I plan to keep myself busy ^^;

Brick:

First impression: big funny chara in a duo dynamic, possibly recurring rival? heart of gold. too brief an appearance. (tftbl is what opened the door to borderlands for me so ye ckxbdk)

Impression now: Best Big Boi. Heart of gold. He's as full of muscle as he is full of love. I'd die for him. For the love of god let him have a dog that lives.

Favorite moment: Ohhh too many god. Like all of the commander lilith dlc. The whole "no one's ever said that to me before...I LOVE YOU MAN!!" Just. All the moments. There's also some bits at the end of the normal story of BL2 that are gold bUT one's a dirty joke so im hushity.

Idea for a story: iii got a fic/animatic idea that's been bonking around in my head for a while. It's mostly story that fills in between the gaps of the first and second bl games.

Unpopular opinion: pfbbbtt i cant rlly think of one except that he, along with the rest of the original vault hunters don't get enough love in the fandom? Granted, that's been like. Changing lately with BL3 coming out n the new Commander Lilith DLC finally being enough of a push to get some folks in the fandom lovin him.

Favorite relationship: well, obviously i ship him and mordy, but that relationship being golden is a given, so imma say the paternal bond he's got developing with Tina bc it's so fucking wholesome and sweet and also rlly funny bc they are both balls of chaos.

Favorite headcanon: oohh there's a lot of good ones. but rn the fave i can think of atm is that he has an actual living dog in bl3 bc it's what he deserves and it could very well just be missing a leg. Let him have a dozen dogs or more plz. Let the puppers be bffs with Talon too.

Mordecai:

First impression: tall scrawny mc-pointy beardy guy in a funny lil duo dynamic. Thinks he's rlly cool, and sounds like he practices things he says to people to try and make other people think he's cool but he's wearing a blanket wrapped around him like a toga shirt thing does he have back problems wonder if that works. his interactions with muscle man are adorable and cute plz tell me we can see more of them this is too brief of an appearance come back. (again, tftbl was my intro to bl, so find my happy surprise that he n brick were in all the rest of the bl games cjxkcb)

Impression now: tired bird grandpa with a heart of gold. he's the sweetest, most caring lad. I stan him so much he's such a great dad, he deserves better im so happy he's recovering. i love his sense of humor. i love his birds. he deserves happiness and the world and his b team family. i love him i love him i love him i love h-

Favorite moment: uNGH all of them. He has so many good moments, in and outside of the games. But rn imma just say the whole of the Commander Lilith dlc bc that was chock-full of Grade A Mordy content, from sweet and wholesome to rlly funny.

Idea for a story: Aaaalll my fic/art/animatic ideas basically. im kind of a gremlin when it comes to my ideas for some reason, but like it's hard to explain them without basically infodumping a summary of some big fic idea i have. But uH ig with my latest lil art comic i did?? it def involves my idea with which Mordecai and Roland first encountering Tina when she was little bc Dad Time™️.

Unpopular opinion: iiiiii rlly am not a fan of how a lot of the fandom has basically stuck him with the personality of Old Drunk™️ bc uH. For one, he's not anymore. He's recovering. And two, he wasn't always like that and people need to take note that for the duration of the main BL2 storyline, he was at one of the lowest points of his life which led him into falling deeper and deeper into alcoholism and being actually rather out of character for himself. So like. Commander Lilith DLC was a good glimpse at Mordy being presented more in character than ever. Not the other way around.

Favorite relationship: Besides the obvious of him being married to Brick and being a dad to Tina bc i adore that a lot and they are def faves, i;;;; rlly love his bonds with Lilith and also esp Roland. Like,,,, outside of the game,, mordy n roland have had some adventures and how they click and connect with each other is rlly interesting and fun and also a big thing i wanted to explore in one of my bigger fic ideas cjdbfkfb.

Favorite headcanon: he's a great friggin dad?? but like. that's canon. i have. a lot of hcs for him. I'd have to make a whole ass post just for him with those tbh.

Tina:

First impression: gremlin child

Impression now: chaos with a heart of gold (yes they all have hearts of gold chdbdkb). she's been through a lot and the whole chaotic persona she's built up seems to be a way to cover up a lot of the pain and suffering she's gone through. iiiim hype she's teamed up with her dads and she better be mcfuckin having these parents stay alive or ill die.

Favorite moment: the whole of the Commander Lilith DLC, but also the butt stallion mission that led to the origins of bl3's b team.

Idea for a story: same fic ideas ive mentioned before cjfjxkcb

Unpopular opinion: i am definitely critical with how various aspects of her character are portrayed, but that's on bad/problematic writing on gearbox's part so i kinda just. ignore those. like im sure a lot of folks who enjoy her character do.

Favorite relationship: her and all of her dads. im a sucker for found family

Favorite headcanon: it was both roland and mordecai who first found her which is why after roland's passing that she's protective of mordy. bc it was only roland and mordecai who knew her full story and had been trying to fill in paternal roles for her after the trauma of what hyperion did. and like hell she's going to lose another parent again.

Here’s some of the music I listened to while working on this fic, plus a few key lyrics and some commentary about each song:

Gladiator – Zayde Wolf

Imma give you a second just to catch your breath / 'Cause I can see that your heart is jumpin' out your chest / I know you gave it all 'cause I've already seen your best, and it’s time you accepted this

Let me tell ya / I've got every reason to fight

This song is great because it pumps me up and then 1 minute and 50 seconds into it, the tone does a complete 180 and gives me serious chills. It reminds me of current Megatron vs. past Megatron, and his initial motivation for starting the Decepticon revolution in the first place. I think he lost his guiding principles along the way, but his anger and gladiator might hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s a perfect Megatron song for obvious (and not so obvious) reasons.

Church – Fall Out Boy

Church makes me think of the early days of the revolution when Orion, Soundwave, and Megatronus were all working together towards the same goal. The chorus is fitting for all of them; their friendship was a sanctuary of sorts, and it gave them the kind of support / relationship none of them ever had before (at least in Megatron’s case). Friendship was a novel, strange, but wonderful thing. Pity it didn’t last long :’I

If I’m being completely honest, Toastyhat’s animatic for this song definitely influenced my associations, what with the gladiator ring and all that, haha. It’s a fantastic animation, and I highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.

Meet Me on the Battlefield – Svrcina

This melancholic song is a perfect fit for the tone of the war, and Optimus’ feelings on it. Poor guy never expressed interest in being a Prime, but he never really got a say in the matter. The best he can do is keep moving forward hoping it’ll one day come to an end.

Very much a melancholic unrequited Soundwave --> Megatron song. I don’t care how many times I listen to this; my heart always aches for poor Soundwave and the ending he got in TFP. He would’ve gone to hell and back for Megatron (and I suppose, in a way, he did).

Battle Cry – Imagine Dragons

Stars are only visible in darkness / Fear is ever-changing and evolving Nobody can save you now / The only sound is the battle cry

Another great song for Megatron! He reveled in his fights as a gladiator, and war is no different. It’s his challenge to Optimus and anyone else who'd dare oppose him. In essence, I see it as Megatron’s “If you’re not with me, then you’re against me, and you’d better be damn well prepared to be treated like an enemy” song.

The “stars are only visible in darkness” line also reminds me of Optimus and Megatron’s conversation in IDW’s “The Transformers” #22 comic, where Megatron goads Optimus, saying he would’ve been no one and nothing without him / the war:

Finally, the song that helped inspire this fic! Definitely gives me strong MegaOp vibes. Despite everything that wound up happened, Megatron and Optimus were each other’s biggest influences for a loooong time. That’s not the kind of thing that can be forgotten easily! I think Megatron was briefly reminded of the friendship they once had at the end of Predacon Rising. Megatron doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who has regrets, but I still wonder if anything akin to it crossed his mind before the end.

A few bonus lighthearted joke songs: A Little Help From My Friends – The Beatles This song came up on my playlist while I was editing some early chapters where Megatron / Orion / Soundwave were still buddies, which I thought was ironic, sweet, and a little bit sad. Take A Chance On Me – ABBA An example of a song I associated with a character as a joke, then thought about WAY too much to the point where it’s no longer a joke. Anyways, please imagine Soundwave playing this every time Megatron passes him up in favor of the Decepticon’s latest traitorous and/or knuckleheaded senior officer. (Seriously though, why on EARTH do you have your most loyal officer as your third in command, Megatron??? Stability and competence clearly mean nothing to you).

Strawberry Blond – Mitski

All I need, darling, is a life in your shape / I picture it, soft, and I ache

This song is perhaps a little bit too wistful / lighthearted for the TFP continuity, but the tone (and the topic of unrequited love) reminded me of a young love-struck Orion Pax. (This was supposed to be a fun addition to this list but the more I think about it, the sadder I get :’I I’m so sorry your life sucked so much, Orion).

A great G1 / IDW song that’s particularly good for Megatron and Optimus. I could dissect every single line of this song and create an entire MV to it, but I’ll spare you the 10 page essay. Just listen to the song and let your imagination run wild! So many lines are perfect!!! Dangerous Man – Little Dume An absolutely PERFECT IDW Megatron song! Great for Megatron post- his change of heart. I actually am determined to make an MV with him for this song because it’s just that perfect.

There's nothing that I'd take back / But it's hard to say there's nothing I regret.

Not necessarily a perfect song for TF, but these two lines from it reminded me so strongly of Megatron / Optimus I figured it was worth making note of.

Hey there! I go by Rain/Rainy/Blue! I’m a college gal who lives in the central time zone whose just finished up with school and is looking for something to fill in the gaps! I do work a part time job but I’m able to reply most of the time anyways!

Now onto the bits about me!

As stated before, I do live in CT

I write in third person, past tense, paragraph format. I’ve written anywhere from 1-15 but most of the time I match my partner in length and I’m not really picky on partner length as long as they give me at least one paragraph.

I’m looking for someone to do M// or F// pairings with! Smut is fine with me and I’d even do it 50/50 if and if the story part is good. Id not? Let’s wait a bit. I’m not picky, I’m usually Dom but I’d love to find someone to play more of a switch with. If not, it’s okay. PLEASE BE 18+ TO ENGAGE IN NSFW THINGS!

I don’t have any hard limits except vomit, feet, gore, and anything sexual involving children. Those are all no no’s for me.

Anything A/B/O really. Love to try with a historical twist? Like, tribal/Viking times? Orrrr any of the above mentioned time periods

Dystopian. Honestly?? Been toying around with the idea of just a bunch of kids/teens in a world where all the adults just disappeared. So they try to get by, gangs form, weird religious cults, etc.

Angel/Demon orrrr Demon/Nun/Clergy!! Ever seen that Church animatic by empty feet??? Live for it! Love to do something like that with this concept

Vampires/Humans?? Got a plot and world for this. Pretty hendoistic world I must admit but the actual plot line is very fluffy/angsty and sweet.

Humans/monsters??? Y e s been wanting someone to come up with something good with me!

Fantasy maybe?? Been awhile but I’d love some good ole fantasy! Especially if you’ve got something interesting!

Steampunk pirates??

Arranged marriages between royalty?? Especially if they don’t get along at first but one of them is trying sooooo hard (Preferably paired with A/B/O, fantasy, historical, etc. you get the idea but it could also stand alone)
