no bc all previous intimate kenstewy moments have been stewy being the one to reach out to ken both physically and figuratively (there’s a friend card here if you want to play it etc) but you’re telling me…that kendall roy who generally has an aversion to touch. rests his head on stewy’s shoulder!!! with a smile on his face…so basically you’re telling me he creates further intimacy on his own volition. with stewy. with his best friend called stewy. insane

We've had the M6 bodyswapping with their familiars, we've had the M6 bodyswapping with each other… But what kind of antics would ensue if the M6 had a bodyswapping incident with MC?
The Arcana HCs: When M6 bodyswap with MC
~ anon, you spectacular genius ~
-- to set the scene --
You know you're in a magic-infused dream as soon as you open your eyes. Off to your right, you can see your beloved standing in the open air, staring at the glowing ball of light that hovers in front of them. You're about to remind them of the cardinal magic rule - don't touch the mystery orb - but by the time you call their name, it's too late. Imagine your surprise when you wake up to your own face staring back at you from your pillow!
Julian
He's staring at you in horror because he knew his eyebags were bad but he didn't know they were that bad
You, on the other hand, are experiencing all the physical ailments of a 6'4 human that never remembers to eat and the headache of needing a daily dose of six shots of espresso to function
He's immediately concerned about physical wellbeing and checking both of you over for any signs of injury. Yeah, he doesn't hate magic anymore, but he's still not comfortable with it
Coaches you on how to speak more like him in his voice. His voice is made for DRAMA, MC, you must PROJECT! ENUNCIATE! The people at the back can't hear you!
He's also going to encourage you to wear all of his normal getup. Enjoy wearing multiple layers of leather in a Mediterranean climate, MC, it's all for the *aesthetic*
You, however, have a secret weapon, and that is basic self care
You are going to eat so much nutritious food and drink so much clean water and get so much sleep and sunlight and exercise ...
It's also payback for how much you're sweating right now, because you won't be the one dealing with all the sore muscles later
He gets unbearably flustered when he changes clothes/bathes in your body and won't stop talking about it
Asra
They know exactly what's happened as soon as they wake up and they know it's their fault and they have 0 regrets. none.
Quick to suggest taking a lazy day so you won't have to juggle the shop with this. And then suggests sleeping in immediately after
He's very curious about what it's like to enjoy all kinds of experiences in your body, but he doesn't do anything until he knows you're comfortable with it (including changing)
Gets distracted/sidetracked every time they pass a mirror/window/shiny pot/remotely reflective surface because they like your face and it keeps surprising them to see it reflected back at them
You're about to watch yourself make the weirdest faces into the mirror as they try to document what your face looks like with different expressions
Has the time of his life picking out his outfit (to wear on your body) and watching you pick out yours (to wear on his body)
Pulls out every food item in your kitchen because they want to know if you taste things differently than they do. You're going to wake up with heartburn tomorrow
Might suggest pranking a few friends, but he's generally so averse to conflict that he won't be dead set on the idea
Occasionally taps into your bond, just to ground themself
Nadia
She's going to keep lying still for a moment or two to finish processing what's just happened and decide what she's going to do about it
And then she's going to teasingly tell you that you're welcome to help yourself to her body, and ask if she can help herself to yours
Tells a trusted Palace servant that she is indisposed and that neither of you will be available today (because there's no way she's going to try to swap jobs with you)
You might be tempted to set yourself up in front of a mirror and see if there's any pose or outfit in the world that Nadia can't look elegant in. She'll have a very amusing time watching you
Portia will inevitably hear about her absence and stop by at some point, which will only ramp up the hilarity
Nadia does suggest sneaking out at some point, your body makes for a great disguise and a day on the town sounds fun!
(You still haven't figured out how to tell her that what sets her apart more than her appearance is her bearing. You've never seen your own posture look that good)
Speaking of posture, welcome to life in a body that's excellently cared for! You can stretch in every direction and nothing hurts!
Though this much thick hair is heavy and hot
Muriel
Oh, he knows before he opens his eyes that something's off, because the furs feel unusually heavy over him and he's never shared a bed with anything bigger than he is
Speaking of, he had no idea that his body radiated that much heat. It's like lying next to a furnace (and it's more comforting than he expected. maybe you're onto something with all the snuggling)
He's violently uncomfortable with being in your body, mostly because he's assuming you'd like it back, and he doesn't want to do anything with it that you don't want him to
You, on the other hand, spend a day as the pilot of a body with unusual size and strength. You're going to have to be reeeeally careful not accidentally bump your head/break and tear stuff
What you choose to do with that is entirely up to you (and up to your body's capacity to contain Muriel's embarrassed blush)
Have fun flexing and watching yourself turn beet red
He is going to request that the two of you stay in the woods and out of sight, which certainly makes things easier
He's also going to apologize to you because he knows this was his fault (you'll have to convince him that being in his body is not a miserable experience, which he may have a hard time believing)
Inanna will be wolf-laughing at both of you the whole time
Portia
She woke up first and put two and two together. By the time you open your eyes, your face is staring back at you with this specific expression: >:3
Also, your body is buzzing (and I mean, buzzing) with energy. You feel like you could climb a mountain and still have the capacity to chop down at least 20 trees. Oh, and your hands are tiny
It's going to take a second for her to get used to your body, if only because she keeps stopping at every new movement/sensation to comment on it/experiment with it/tease you about it
As soon as you've had breakfast, she's taking the day off and dragging you into town for some good old-fashioned mischief
Because yeah, she just woke up in one of the most powerful magician's bodies in the world, she fully plans on taking advantage of that. Who wouldn't??
Long story short, your day is going to consist of running after her while she comments on your "low energy levels" (they're not low, they're human) and wreaks havoc with your magical capacity
The fountain in the town square spouts glowing orange water for a week after she passes through. Even she isn't sure how she did it, so you just have to wait it out and hope it won't poison anyone
Mazelinka saw you two at one point and cried laughing
Lucio
It takes him a while to figure out what's happened
Don't misread this as him assuming that things are normal. He knows things are not normal, because he's getting human sensations from his left arm
But his first assumption is that this is because his arm magically grew back in the night, and his second assumption when he sees his own body next to him is that he's been cloned
You wake up because he's frantically calling your name, asking why his voice sounds so weird and if you had to clone him as part of getting his human arm back and where you've disappeared to
Shrieks and falls backwards off the bed when his clone's eyes open and you tell him what's happened from his own body
You, on the other hand, are going to spend all day figuring out how to function with a metal arm. It's nowhere near as easy as he makes it look, plus it makes that whole side of your body cold
Lucio insists on doing your eyeliner (on his face) because yes, he loves you, and yes, he trusts you, but that's his signature look and he needs it to be perfect
And then you're going to accidentally ruin his face anyways when you go to scratch an itch, forgetting about the claws on his hand
It's nothing compared to his attempts to use your magic

Autistic Aziraphale headcanons because we're all sad and I need something to distract myself
You read the title lol. Just my general headcanons about Aziraphale's autism because he's very autistic and Crowley is his ADHD partner (Crowley is also an autism magnet but I'll get into that some other time lmao)
Tumblr media
Obviously he likes most human food, but I headcanon that he genuinely can't handle fast food because of how greasy it is. Like, he doesn't mind greasy food (like bacon, steak, fried chicken, foods like that) but fast food is just a whole other kind of greasy and he can't stand it
He loves the texture of his clothes. Those are absolutely comforting to him when he gets too stressed and/or overstimulated (they also just make him very happy in general)
Crepes and sushi are his main safe foods (I will die on this hill)
When he's overstimulated he does become very touch averse depending on the situation
For example: In a large, loud, and crowded area, he wants absolutely no touch other than maybe a pinkie link with Crowley
However, when he touches something with a Bad Texture, he immediately goes to hug or touch Crowley in some way to get rid of the feeling
It's basically canon that he's the Doesn't Know When To Stop Talking Autistic
And while everyone around him (*cough* Heaven *cough*) finds it annoying and absolutely hates it, Crowley loves it and could listen to him ramble on about the stupidest things for hours. Obviously he'll tease him for it though
His special interest is either books or humans in general. I can't decide which one I like more and both are very plausible
He has so many things that he's gathered throughout the centuries for stimming purposes
He also will lightly flap his wings while he's reading, but no one can see that (In a human AU the equivilant of that would be either wiggling his nose or ears while he reads)
He gets so hyperfocused on reading and will stay up for weeks just reading and reading. The other shopkeepers get worried and try to get him to sleep but they won't take "I don't need sleep. I've been drinking coffee all day," as an excuse, and Aziraphale can't exactly explain to them that he's an immortal being that doesn't require sleep
That being said, he does enjoy wrapping himself in layers and layers of blankets
When he found out about weighted blankets he went wild
He has a lot of trouble understanding and remembering human expressions, which is why he talks more like someone from the 1920s (plus, that era's expressions just give him happy feels)
That's all for now. Btw feel free to request anything or even give me headcanons of your own! I love hearing about people's headcanons! The main things I write for is Good Omens and the movie Bright Young Things, so yeah :)

Hi. I feel like you are the only person I can send Lestappen asks so here goes another one.
First of all have you seen that video of Max playing footsie with Checo? I hope you have because it’s so funny to me how he realized he had accident tapped his teammate’s foot but Checo didn’t react so he did it intentionally to make sure he laughed.
Now what got me is the fact that not long ago he [Max] was playing footsie with Charles albeit unknowingly but when he realized he got all awkward about it. It’s so glaring that I started realizing other little things like the way Max will talk to Lando or Carlos or Daniel, heck everyone else on the grid about something is all so different from how he is with Charles. There’s always some sort of shyness, awkwardness, too much staring and thoughtfulness put into everything involving Charles. And yeah it may sound like I’m biased but I didn’t ship them like that for the longest time but the footsie thing made me think about all the little moments they share and how they are different from how they are with everyone else. The same can be said for Charles and how he is with Max via-à-vis other people.
Could you do a comparison, pleeease? 😘
I feel so honored, seriously.
I have seen the video with Checo, but not the one with Charles? So please send me the link because I need to see it immediately or else I will spontaneously combust.
"Could you do a comparison, pleeease?😘" <<< Oh, babe. Honey. My darling anon. You will regret this, and I am so sorry.
(Putting this under a 'Read More' for everyone's sake.)
Now, before I get further into this I just need to make a few things very clear: 1. I am a monogamous shipper, meaning that once I ship someone, I am incapable of shipping those people with someone else. I am actually kind of jealous of people who are capable of shipping the same person with multiple people because the amount of content you get, my God. Now, this does not mean that I don't get other ships or that I have any sort of issue with other ships because I definitely don't. It simply means that in my head, once two people are paired together in a ship, that's it. They're it for each other as far as my brain is concerned. 2. This post does not mean that I genuinely believe Max and Charles are in a secret relationship, nor does it mean that I genuinely believe they ever will be. The point of shipping, as far as I'm concerned, is that it's fun and lighthearted. It's something that brings a lot of joy to a lot of people, and it's something that is very easy to enjoy.
Now, prepare for a rant.
I believe you are right on the money, anon, and this is exactly why I ship Lestappen. They have the sort of vibe and chemistry between them that I just don't see them having with anyone else.
Let's start with Daniel, who is the obvious first choice: There is no denying how close he is with Max, but the feeling I get with those two is that they are two dude bros who are just so comfortable with each other and such good friends that nothing feels weird. They can joke about literally anything, no matter how inappropriate, no matter how sexual, and it's just funny. They have exactly the kind of familiarity you would see between two best friends, and they have no aversion to getting up close and personal with each other. There's no awkwardness between them whatsoever, and for that reason they just give me those frat boy vibes that I absolutely adore in a friendship. Watching them interact is hilarious at any given time.
As for Lando and Carlos, Max displays the same sort of ease that he has whenever he's interacting with Daniel, although obviously not at the same level, and more so with Lando than Carlos. Max has said it himself: Lando is literally his best friend on the grid, and they also don't seem to have any sort of aversion to physical touch: slapping each other's asses, being in each other's space, and generally displaying an easy sort of comfort you'd expect to see between really close friends. It's never awkward or weird, it's simply funny and comfortable, and it's so blatantly obvious how much they enjoy each other's company, both on and off the grid.
With Carlos, Max obviously shares the history of them being teammates at Toro Rosso, and although they weren't exactly best friends at the time (now if that isn't an understatement right there), they were both young and — like most young boys, let's be honest — stupid. Hot-headed, stubborn and arrogant, which typically doesn't lead to the best relationship in a sport that is as competitive as F1, especially not when you're in your teens. However, both Max and Carlos have grown up a lot since then, and now they seem to have developed a genuine friendship based on mutual respect and a history long since passed, and they seem comfortable around each other. Like with Daniel and Lando, there doesn't seem to be any awkwardness or underlying current of something tied to their interactions.
Now, with Charles, it's just different. And not just for Max, because Charles seems to have a very specific way of behaving around Max that I just haven't seen when he's around Lando, Carlos, Pierre, or anyone else on the grid. There are so many interactions in which both Charles and Max just seem giddy whenever they're around each other — you know, the kind of giddy you get when you're talking to somebody you have a crush on and you're not quite sure how to deal with it? Take this moment here in Bahrain 2022, for example. The quick looks, the smiles. If that isn't how you look at your fucking crush, then I don't know what is. Or this moment, with Charles rubbing at the back of his neck and looking all bashful after interacting with Max. Like, sir, what the fuck?
Whenever they interact, they don't display that same kind of comfort that they do with others, especially the other drivers already mentioned, but does this stop them from interacting? No. Does it deter them from seeking each other out practically every chance they get? Absolutely not. In fact, they seem to gravitate towards each other most of the time just like their hands always seem to gravitate towards each other's waists as soon as they're within touching distance for photos, and how other people briefly cease to exist once the two of them are engaged in conversation. Hell, I refer to Checo as Du-du-du-du-du-du-du Steve (Checo) and Third wheel Checo in my tags for a reason. (The things poor Checo has been forced to put up with when it comes to these two, including this cooldown room earlier this year.)
Oh, and did I mention Max literally interrupting Charles mid-interview in Bahrain at the beginning of the 2022 season, and Charles seemingly completely forgetting that he was being interviewed and keeping the conversation going, despite the fact that it's rude as fuck? Christ, how anyone puts up with them at this point is actually incredible.
There are also the numerous moments of intense eye contact while they're mid-conversation, the way Charles will remember the tiniest mention of Max from his engineer during a race and then bring it up, and Max fucking lighting up like a Christmas tree when he gets the chance to talk to Charles about it, and the way Charles is licking his lips before he realizes he's being recorded by Max. And anon, don't even get me started on their obsession with holding each other's waists as if that is a totally normal thing to be obsessed about with your emotional support rival. (Don't mind us, just gonna stand here and hold each other's waist while waiting for the others.)
Look, I am the absolute worst at keeping track of gifs and videos, which is probably for the best because if I was better at it, this would turn into a goddamned thesis, but there are just an endless supply of moments between Max and Charles where the vibe is just so far from being like the vibe either of them seem to have with any other driver on the grid. There is an underlying weirdness/awkwardness/shyness between the two of them that just screams "teenagers with a crush" for me, and that's why it's so easy for me to ship them. (And why it's impossible for me to ship either of them with someone else.)

chapter summary: ezra reunites with hera and chopper and meets jacen. sabine realizes she still has a home on the ghost, and it's just like old times— but with one critical difference. chapter word count: 3.1K a/n: as i wrote this chapter, i started thinking about coffee creamer in the star wars galaxy. would it be blue? like their milk? what color would it make the coffee if you put enough in it? i decided to test this theory— though i didn't have blue food coloring, i did have purple for some reason, so i just used that, and, well, let's just say i know firsthand that sabine's description of ezra's caf in this chapter is 100% accurate. and i have made terrible mistakes. taglist:@laughingphoenixleader@accidental-spice@kanerallels@piraterefrigerator@jedi-nurse@dootchster@lucasbridger@redroverrider@light-umbra@commander-tech {if you’d like to be added to or removed from my Sabezra taglist, let me know!}

Chapter 3: Sha'kajir
Sabine tried to keep a straight face as the shuttle ramp lowered. She and Ezra had had plenty of time to discuss how to make an entrance upon Ezra's return to the galaxy, and she wasn't about to flub up their plan.
She stepped off the ramp as seriously as she could, watching the faces of the confused New Republic soldiers in front of her as they lowered their weapons. She was sure most of them didn't even expect her return at all, especially so soon, or in a recovered Imperial transport.
But the face she was watching most expectantly was General Syndulla's.
"Sabine?" Hera asked, motioning for the rest of the troops to stay back as she walked across the hangar to her.
"General," Sabine nodded, a smile tugging the corner of her cheeks.
Though anyone else would've seen it as a breach in protocol, the general was the closest thing Sabine had to a mother anymore, and a reunion hug was inevitable.
Hera quickly pulled away though, most likely equal parts remembering who else was watching and recalling Sabine's usual aversion to physical touch, and also because so many questions had still been left unanswered.
"Did Ahsoka make it to you okay?" Hera asked, "did she make it back? Did you find Ezra?"
"Ahsoka found me, yeah," Sabine said, "and she and Huyang made the jump back here with me."
 "And Ezra?" Hera asked.
Sabine bit her lip, enjoying Hera's suspense too much to risk accidentally spilling it.
"Did you find Ezra?" Hera asked, "is he…."
"I'd say he's doing alright," a voice behind Sabine said, and she and Hera both turned to see Ezra standing in front of the shuttle ramp.
"Ezra?" Hera asked, and Sabine took a step to the side.
Ezra nodded, and before he could say anything more, he found himself in a long awaited hug from Hera.
"Welcome home," Hera said, quietly enough that the only people who could hear it were Ezra and Sabine.
"I've missed you, mom," Ezra said.
Hera laughed a little, and after another moment, pulled away.
Chopper rolled up to Ezra, beeping something about how he definitely didn't miss Ezra at all, and jokingly complaining about not giving him back his room.
"Good work, Sabine," Hera said, "I'm proud of you— both of you."
Sabine hadn't seen Hera happier since they returned from Krownest all those years ago, when the whole crew was together again for the start of the very last time. Mingled with the joyful disbelief on Hera's face was a sense of pride— though it seemed not just in her kids, but also in herself.
"It's not all good news," Sabine said, "unfortunately, Ahsoka and Ezra aren't the only ones who came back from Perida."
 "You don't mean…"
Ezra nodded sadly. "Somehow, Grand Admiral Thrawn returned."
The light in Hera's eyes faded, years of conflict and turmoil rushing back at her, like everything they'd worked so hard for was beginning to crumble. She shook her head, biting her lip, then nodded, and the confidence returned.
"It's alright," Hera reaffirmed, "Thrawn's return is nothing the New Republic can't handle, and now he's lost his element of surprise. Chop, let Senator Organa know. Notify the New Republic forces immediately."
"And what are we gonna do to stop him?" Sabine asked.
"That's the New Republic Council's call," Hera said, "until then, I think Ezra's gonna have a lot of catching up to do."
"You have no idea," Ezra said, the same overwhelmed look on his face that he'd had any time Sabine tried to tell him about everything that had changed over the last decade.
"But first," Hera said, "you need some rest. You two have just traveled across galaxies. There'll be time for a family reunion after you've gotten a good night's sleep."
"Yes ma'am," Ezra teased, jokingly saluting. Hera put a hand on his shoulder and turned him around.
"You've still got a bunk on The Ghost," Hera said, leading him to the door, "as long as you don't mind sharing your room with a force-sensitive ten year old."
"Sabine told me all about the kid," Ezra said, "and it'd be an honor. Besides, if I could put up with the smell of Lasat for as long as I did…."
Sabine watched as they walked away, Chopper rolling along behind them.
"You did it," she thought, "he was counting on you to bring him home, and you did it."
She shook her head, trying to stave off the burning question of "now what?"
 "Hey, Sabine!"
Ezra had stopped in his tracks and turned back to her.
 "You coming?" he asked.
Sabine searched her words. Of course she wanted to join them— and Ezra's smile as he turned back to her was welcoming in a way nothing else could've been— but she hadn't stayed on The Ghost for years, and didn't even know if there was still a place for her.
Hera spoke up before Sabine could voice her hesitations.
"I've still got your room just like you left it, too," Hera said, with that motherly tone of voice that turned a suggestion into a command.
"Alright," Sabine said, "who am I to argue with that?"
Sabine joined them, and they left for The Ghost together.
 — — —
"Hey, Jacen," Sabine knocked on the door as she entered the room, "you awake?"
If he hadn't been awake before, he certainly was now, as he jumped out of his bed and into her arms to give her a hug.
"Aunt Sabine!" he laughed, "you're home!"
"You're right I am," Sabine ruffled his shaggy green hair, "and I brought back a friend."
Jacen looked past her to where his mom stood in the doorway, Ezra walking in past her.
"Jacen?" Ezra asked, taking a few steps into the room, "I know you don't know me, but…."
 "Uncle Ezra?" Jacen asked.
"Yeah," Ezra said, smiling as he knelt down next to Sabine to get closer to Jacen's level, "I take it you've heard of me."
"Yeah," Jacen said, "mommy and Aunt Sabine and Chopper tell me stories about you all the time."
Out in the hallway, Chopper beeped something to the contrary.
"You do and you know it!" Jacen argued to the droid.
"Well, I'm glad to finally meet you," Ezra said, placing his hands on Jacen's shoulders and nodding, "Sabine's told me a lot about you, too."
 "Like what?" Jacen asked.
"For one, she said that you're a lot like your parents."
"Did you know my dad?" Jacen's eyes lit up, "you knew him, right?" "Yeah," Ezra nodded, solemnly, before lightening the mood again, "how about I tell you about one of our adventures? As a bedtime story?"
He glanced back at Hera as he asked, and she nodded
"Just don't go too long," Hera pointed at them, "you boys have a busy day tomorrow."
"Okay," Jacen said, already climbing into his bed.
Ezra sat down at the end of Jacen's bed. "It all started when we were on the roof of The Ghost, while your dad was trying to teach me how to become a Jedi.…"
Sabine watched him over her shoulder as she left the room. Ezra seemed to have clicked with Jacen immediately, probably due to either the way the boys were both so easy to get along with, or because of their strong connections to the force. Either way, it was endearing for her to watch.
Sabine felt Hera's hand on her shoulder.
"Let's get you settled back in too," Hera said.
 "Alright," Sabine said.
She followed Hera down the hall to her old room, and found that, just as Hera had said, not much had changed. The walls were still covered in more graffiti than an abandoned factory in the outer rim, and the old cracked mirror on her dresser still had yet to be repaired.
"Just like you left it," Hera said.
"Yeah," Sabine rolled her eyes, sitting on her old bed, "that was quite a day."
She almost felt ridiculous by now, with how excited and hopeful she'd been at the start of her training with Ahsoka, even though the mere thought of her training carried with it so much tension and stress now.
She got up to look through the drawers of her dresser, and was confused by a few things she found in it.
"I don't remember owning this shirt," Sabine said, holding up a gray and tan shirt with long sleeves and a snappy collar.
"I didn't think your old clothes would fit you anymore," Hera said, "so left a few of my old things for you."
"You did?" Sabine asked, looking through the drawer "how did you know I'd even be back?"
"I didn't know," Hera said, "but I had hoped. I know you've moved onto bigger things than our Spectre days— we all have— but I always wanted home to be here for you if you need someplace to crash."
"You mean a place to have an exciting landing?" Sabine asked.
 "Yeah," Hera laughed.
 Sabine gave Hera a sidehug.
 "Thanks," Sabine said.
The past few years had been really rough. Every other idea of home she'd ever had was gone for good, but somehow this place remained— probably due to the stubbornness of her Captain.
And somehow, no matter how much time passed, she always found her crew again.
"It's good to have you home," Hera said, "now, I'd suggest you change so Chop can get your clothes washed, and I'll have something to eat ready in just a few minutes."
"You don't have to…" "Sabine," Hera said, "I insist."
Sabine smiled and rolled her eyes as Hera left the room.
 — — —
Seven minutes later, Sabine was in the galley, wearing one of Hera's shirts and a pair of her old oversized pants, drinking a cup of caf and talking with Hera like nothing had ever changed.
"How's your Jedi stuff going?" Hera asked, from where she stood by the stove.
"It's," Sabine took a sip of caf as she looked for the right word, "interesting." "Interesting good?" Hera asked.
"Yeah," Sabine said, "while we were on Perida I actually managed to use the Force a little."
 "Well, that's good," Hera said.
"I don't know," Sabine said, "it only worked there and I haven't tried it since. Probably had something to do with the planet itself."
"Ah," Hera smiled, "the Force has a funny way of working sometimes."
"Yeah," Sabine said, unsure why she said it the way she did, like there was something more to this story that Sabine didn't even realize she was getting at, "it wasn't anything major anyways."
"Don't listen to her," Ezra said, as he walked into the galley, "if it wasn't for her connection to the Force, we never would've made it home."
Sabine smiled at Ezra, and noticed that instead of the clothes he'd been wearing all week in the closet, he now wore a familiar green shirt that Hera must've lent him. "Sounds like quite the story," Hera smiled, as Ezra sat down next to Sabine at the table, "and speaking of 'stories,'" Hera poured a cup of caf for Ezra just the way he liked it— with enough creamer that it ended up the same color that Zeb turned the time he got food poisoning, "you did make sure to remind Jacen that climbing on top of The Ghost for Jedi practice should only be done with direct adult supervision, right?"
Ezra took a sip of his caf and sighed with contentment, as if he hadn't heard her question.
"I've really missed this," he set down the cup, "you know, they don't have creamer like this on Perida. Granted, they also don't have caf."
 "Ezra," Hera asked, arms crossed.
"Don't worry, Hera," Ezra said, "I'll remind him in the morning that any stories I tell him are on a strict 'do as I say, not as I do' basis."
"Alright," Hera said, grabbing a couple plates off the counter as she changed the subject, "now, I hope you kids are hungry."
She set down a plate of purpleish pancakes in front of each of them.
"We've eaten nothing but decade-old Imperial rations for the last week," Sabine said, "I'd say we're long overdue for a home-cooked meal."
"Besides," Ezra said, already with his mouth full of food, "I wouldn't even turn down a stack of Jogan Pancakes if I'd just had a full Life Day Feast."
Sabine smiled as she took a bite of her pancakes, with not nearly as much reckless abandon as Ezra did— just like old times— but still wholeheartedly.
"These are amazing," Ezra said, "just as good as I remembered them."
"I do my best," Hera said, and instead of taking pride at his compliment, she looked away almost wistfully, "I know they're not as good as when Kanan would make them…."
"They're great," Sabine and Ezra both said, then looked at each other with a smile.
"Glad to hear there's an agreement," Hera said, as she sat down with a stack of pancakes of her own.
In between mouthfuls— very full, borderline greedy mouthfuls— Ezra kept the conversation going.
"Does Jacen have any of his dad's cooking skills?"
Hera smiled, "he's the only one who can come close to making Kanan's specialty."
"You mean that meatlump stuff that tasted a lot better than it sounds?" Ezra laughed, but only a little, followed by a sigh.
"That's the one," Hera said, and despite the sour look on Ezra's face as he mentioned it, Hera's expression was one of delight.
"Kanan would be proud of him," Ezra nodded.
"I know he would," Hera nodded, "and I am too."
They each took a few more bites, before Ezra spoke up again.
"So, Sabine," Ezra said, "Jacen mentioned you've been telling stories about me?"
Sabine bit her lip. Maybe she'd told one or two or seventy-five stories about him, but that was no reason for Jacen to bring it up.
 "Once or twice," Sabine said.
 "Which ones?"
"Oh, you know," Sabine took a sip of her caf, "that time Chopper unscrewed the bolts from your bunk…."
 "Seriously?" Ezra asked.
"What?" Sabine shrugged, "I had to say something when he asked about the funny drawing of Uncle Zeb on the wall of his room."
"You actually kept that up?" Ezra asked.
"You could've washed it off anytime when it was your room," Sabine suggested.
"What can I say?" Ezra asked, "I liked being your inspiration."
"Then you're gonna love what I've done in the comm tower on Lothal."
 "What?"
"Nothing," Sabine said, quickly covering her tracks, knowing she probably couldn't find a way to say she'd been living in his old house the past few years without it sounding creepy.
Ezra shrugged as he finished off his stack of pancakes and got up to grab some more from the counter by the stove, Sabine trying not to let her gaze follow him too intently.
———
"You'd think we'd be sick of each other by now," Sabine thought, as she and Ezra sat next to each other at the table in the galley, long after the pancakes and caf were finished and Hera had gone to bed, "and yet? I could probably stay up talking with him all night."
She tried to ignore the fact that she'd almost done just that, that there were only a few hours left before they'd have to wake up, and that Hera had reminded them not to stay up too late tonight.
"Hey, Sabine," Ezra said, "you good?"
She'd spaced out in the middle of one of his stories, so focused on how much she enjoyed talking with Ezra that she'd forgotten to focus on talking with Ezra.
"Yeah," Sabine said, shaking her head as she came up with an excuse, "sorry. Just zoned out a little."
"I think you need some sleep," Ezra said.
"I've been in a closet for a whole week," Sabine said, "I've gotten more than enough rest."
"Sabine," he titled his head and raised an eyebrow, with knowing disappointment at her self-destructive tendencies.
"And what about you?" Sabine threw his accusation back at him, "don't you have a big day tomorrow?"
"I'll be fine," Ezra said, glancing at her with a smile and a glimmer in his eye, "besides, I slept much better this past week than I have in a long time."
 "Why's that?" Sabine asked.
That's how she knew she needed sleep. She was pretty sure of the answer to that question, and if she'd been more awake, she'd've deflected this kind of conversation.
But, since she asked, Ezra answered, by sliding closer to her and gently putting a hand on her shoulder. He leaned towards her a little as well, and lowered his tone, somehow to something deep but still soft; gravelly but still smooth.
 "I've missed you."
 Oh no.
In the good old days, when Ezra tried something like this, it had always bothered her— because she didn't feel the same way— because there was no way she could ever find herself liking Ezra. She'd thought those feelings he had for her had gone away, but the look in his eyes said it all: though it had taken many forms over the last fifteen years, his love for her had never died.
In the good old days, she would've pushed him away immediately at this realization, not wanting anything more than his friendship. By the time she'd thought she might even be able to start feeling the same way, he was already gone. But as she looked into his eyes, she realized she'd more than just begun to catch feelings: though it had taken her fifteen years, she'd finally fallen in love with Ezra Bridger.
She wasn't in the good old days anymore, and it was terrifying.
 She liked Ezra.
 Ezra liked her.
And now instead of being galaxies apart, they were together— alone together— and he was leaning close to her and whispering to her in a tone of voice that could've made a textbook sound romantic, and she liked it.
It was all too much to take in at once. Her familiar friend had become unfamiliar territory— by no fault of his own— and she didn't know how to respond.
"I should go to bed," Sabine said, sharply, turning away from him so she didn't have to see how his face fell— though she saw it anyway.
 "Sabine," Ezra said, "wait, I…."
But she was already out of her seat and on her way out the door. She thought she heard him get up and walk to the doorway after her, but she didn't turn around to check.
Sabine wasn't running from Ezra. It wasn't his fault he'd finally gotten through to her heart this time.
No, she was running from her feelings for Ezra. How else could she respond? She'd never been in love before. What else could be done in the face of this, besides what she did with any other new problem that couldn't be solved with a detonator?
 She ran.

Headcanon ask - Song Lan and touch aversion? (Specifically, if you want, how this might interact with Xue Yang and being used to being seen as dirty)
oooh yes. I don't think there's necessarily something that "made" Song Lan touch-averse (and I do like touch-averse specifically, not just generally mysophobic though that's probably at least part of the problem and also true); it adds in a fun way to the perception of him as cold and aloof and gives me fun and spicy opportunities for my headcanons about his relationship with Xiao Xingchen.
but yeah, not just about the germs/feeling of uncleanliness, but also just the specific feeling of skin-touch is hard. not impossible, and he'll make exceptions particularly when it feels important, and clothes make a big difference (much easier to touch someone's clothed arm than their hand, for instance). I think it's always been true for him, though it took a while to articulate, and growing up in a temple that I don't think was particularly physically affectionate (affectionate in other ways!) shielded him from it really being an issue for a while.
but it is also fun to think about the way that Song Lan's air of untouchability (figurative) is partly a cultivated way of (literally) making himself untouchable, so that people will not cross his boundaries in that way, but that also results in the aforementioned cold-and-aloof relationship that, paired with the fact that I think Song Lan is just generally not all that good with people/very inclined to be social, gives him a reputation for...not hostility, because he's too righteous to be hostile, but definitely not warmth. and this is in direct contrast to Xiao Xingchen who ends up with an aura of untouchability entirely against his own will and he would really like to be touched. but in both instances it results in a certain loneliness and isolation from others.
and then how that plays with Xue Yang...the intensity of Xue Yang's reaction to Song Lan's reaction to being touched (which, admittedly, is pretty harsh; I don't think it was really thought through, though, necessarily) has always been interesting to me. like, yes, Xue Yang takes things personally, he offends easily and reacts to that offense with extreme measures, but the sheer immediate loathing he expresses toward Song Lan specifically for his reaction, even after Jin Guangyao explains it's not about him specifically...
Xue Yang has a history of being perceived as, yes, dirty, subhuman, beastly, and I think that bothers him more than he'd want to admit to anyone. the implication of "Song Zichen is mysophobic and that's why he lashed out when you touched him" doesn't read to him as "this is a general issue with touch and not about you specifically"; it reads as "this guy thinks you're dirty and can contaminate him with it just by touching him" and that sets off a big blaring angry alarm in Xue Yang's brain.
I think there's also something there about...an awareness that the perception of him as dirty/low is something that makes him acutely vulnerable and therefore something he's particularly sensitive to. somewhere in the back of Xue Yang's mind it's a precursor to being targeted in a more dangerous way and he's going to get out ahead of it.
it's something about Xiao Xingchen's condemnation of him as "disgusting" that finally triggers Xue Yang's nuclear bomb detonation in their last conversation, and I don't think that's incidental, in the same way that it's Song Lan's response to being touched by Xue Yang that specifically and directly sparks Xue Yang's anger at him (as opposed to Xiao Xingchen). I went back to look at the text and it is indeed Song Lan specifically who Xue Yang threatens in the Villainous Friends extra, though he expresses contempt and dislike for them both, to be sure:
"I find such fake, conceited people to be the absolute most disgusting. That Xiao Xingchen clearly wasn't much older than me, but still poking his nose into other people's business - annoying. And then he started lecturing me. And that Song one." He sneered. "I only brushed his arm, so what was with that look he gave me? Sooner or later, I'll dig out his eyes and shatter his heart. Let's see what he'll do once that happens." (trans. Exiled Rebels, emphasis mine)
it's only after his arrest that Xiao Xingchen himself becomes a target of Xue Yang's rage.
Song Lan didn't mean to press a berserk button when he lashed out at Xue Yang; I think it honestly is something where he would react, if not the same exactly, with the same discomfort and unhappiness to anybody touching him, often including Xiao Xingchen.

throwing you mitsurugi and itonokogiri
*slams hands on desk* HELL YEAH LET'S GOOOOOO
Mitsurugi Reiji
Sexuality Headcanon: he is the single most aroace character i have ever seen in my entire life. and he is both touch-averse and sex-repulsed you can't change my mind.
Gender Headcanon: cis man
A ship I have with said character: mitsunoko my BELOVED. also very fond of qpr narumitsunoko with Naruhodou being the one coming into the relationship late.
A BROTP I have with said character: Mitsurugi's relationship with Mei is. so good. they're the most siblings ever. I also quite enjoy his relationship with Mikumo and with Mayoi!!
A NOTP I have with said character: non-qpr naru/mitsu......i'm sorry but. they would never.
A random headcanon: i'd say he's autistic but that's like. pseudo-canon anyway. so, i do think that he genuinely believes that Itonokogiri just really really likes soumen and doesn't quiet get the implications of the detective having soumen for every meal.
General Opinion over said character: i've been meaning to get into gyaketen saiban for like YEARS and i always was curious about MItsurugi's character, but damn i never expected to love him this much. he's had one of the best character developments/arcs in any franchise that i can think of and it makes me emotional how far he's come. i love him.
Itonokogiri Keisuke
Sexuality Headcanon: asexual but doesn't know it. messed around with sex when he was young, didn't understand what the big deal about it was, and never thought about it ever again.
Gender Headcanon: LISTEN i haven't given it much thought but.......i have the vague ideas of a trans man Itonokogiri in my brain..............
A ship I have with said character: same as above!!! and i also really really love the idea of narunoko at first starting to look out for each other for Mitsurugi's sake, but then growing closer and having genuine affection and concern for each other down the line.
A BROTP I have with said character: i adore his relationship with Mikumo, and honestly i think the mutual affection and respect between him and Mako is really sweet. i want them to be friends forever. 🥺
A NOTP I have with said character: i've seen people ship him with Mei and that was an instant Nope hahaha. i wish those shippers the best tho.
A random headcanon: he 100% has undiagnosed ADHD.
General Opinion over said character: hands down my favorite character in the franchise. the Itonokogiri i know and love from consuming the japanese version of the games is. so fundamentally different from the Gumshoe most of the english-speaking fans know from the localization. i respect and support their Gumshoe but he's like. an alternate universe version of Itonokogiri. i don't think i can forgive the localization for stripping so much of what made me fall in love with him. his acceptance that everyone never gets his name right (except for Mitsurugi). his -ssu speech quirk. his use of "jibun" as a first person pronoun. him canonically being good at shogi!!! HIS NAME BEING A DELIBERATE PARALLEL TO MITSURUGI'S MADE BY TAKUMI SHU. i love him so much and i mourn that a huge portion of the fandom will never get to know him.

Inferior Fe
@majikal137 I'm going to answer your question on this old post here for simplicity reasons:
Hi. As a Fe aux user, how do you think about behaviors of Fe inferior?
I'm actually very familiar with behaviours of inferior Fe since my father is an INTP and my stepfather an ISTP, and it's quite interesting actually. Fe is by far the most obvious function in people, regardless of its position in the functions stack. It always shines through, even in IxTPs. They can be quite good at analysing and understanding other people through an Fe lens, though ISTPs tend to be a lot better at that than INTPs in my experience, probably due to being more observant of other people thanks to their Se, while INTPs prefer to get lost inside their own Ne-wired minds. Still, IxTPs usually display the same viewpoints on Fe politeness as FJs, just in a more chill way (such as we're here as a group, not as individuals, or I don't like you, but I will be polite and civil, or a general aversion against conflict). And they usually understand Fe behaviour in FJs without any issues, even when they may think that the FJ is needlessly exaggerating something. They get it. What they don't get is how to talk to people. I don't mean this in a mean way, but I think it's quite funny how IxTPs understand high Fe, but don't understand why their own behaviour can make FJs mad. They aren't as willing to go with the flow and compromise as FJs are and just stubbornly do their own thing instead. They don't emote like FJs do and they don't freely express their emotions, typically because they are not in touch with them at all. You as an outside person are often more likely to know how an IxTP is feeling than the IxTP themselves. My INTP dad can stomp his foot and angrily mutter to himself and slam doors etc. and then be confused when other people assume that he's angry. He doesn't know. He wasn't aware. It has to be brought to his attention (which is also a very Fe thing: you need to see yourself through other people's eyes). But the thing is, high Fe wants emotions from other people. My ESFJ mother still talks about that time when we were on holiday and reached the top of a mountain and how she could have shouted out into the world how beautiful the view is and how happy she is to be there with all of us. Meanwhile my INTP dad went "Yeah. It looks nice." Twenty years later and my mother still says she could have killed him right then and there. She wanted him to join her in her euphoria. She wanted to ride that feeling with someone. That's what high Fe is all about. Connecting emotionally. Melting into one another, becoming one. But you can't tickle emotional highs and lows out of an IxTP. They are not cold or unfeeling. They just aren't aware. You can burst into tears in front of them and they will have no idea what is happening and why or what to say, but they will simply go for a warm hug and hope that's enough (for me, it always was). It's a constant confusion, but they get the gist. That's the thing with our inferior functions: they make sense to us when we see them in higher positions in other people. They don't feel foreign. They're not necessarily something we particularly care about, but they don't feel alien to us. Using them just feels a bit like a wet piece of soap that's slipping through your fingers. It's tangible. You know its use, its purpose, you know how it works in theory. You're just really bad at it. That's how I feel about inferior Fe behaviours. Seeing it in action in IxTPs feels like listening to a twelve-year-old explaining astrophysics to me.

FCDnD Session 56
Jinx: Ben has a body Me: Legias and Lori definitely also have bodies. You've seen them. Adam: but have we touched them?
Adam: Huh, it's kind of weird how there are two J names, but only one of them is said. Jenny: I need to talk to Legias. Right now. You can come if you want.
Adanessa: do you have an appointment? Adam: yes Adanessa: name? Adam: you know my name Adanessa: I don't see your name in the appointment book Legias: Oh, good, you're here. come in. Adam, sticking his tongue out at Adanessa: It must suck not having things written down in your little book.
Jenny: Who is Ben? Who is Ben, to you? Legias: Ben is... the King? Of the Castle? That we are... currently in?
Adam: Can I try asking a question? Legias: it looks like you just succeded. Congratulations!
Jenny: Who is J in your journal? What does J stand for? Legias: It's... Jenny: It's me. It has to be me.
Jenny: We need to keep going. I cannot interact with Shard at all. Jinx: Like he can't know you exist? Jenny: He already knows I exist. I can not talk to him. Jinx: What about invisibility? Can I make you invisible when he's around? Adam: What about a mask? Get some face paint out? Jinx: Can we call you Henny Junter? Jenny: It really depends on how easy it is to lie to Shard. If he's talking to me directly, it's already too late.
Jenny: Anything that I know is information that Shard has easier access to. Adam: Well, you're stupid as bricks anyway, so we got this. Jenny: Thanks a lot. Adam: I was trying to be confidence-building.
Adam: a hundred dollars. Legias: No, thank you. Adam: Two hundred dollars. Legias: that's very generous of you, but no. Adam: You've been annoying me a lot lately. Jenny: I think that's just your aversion to authority.
Adam: So we can't let whatever his name is see whatever her name is, and if they do, we lie about it. I'm sure Hunter can't lie worth a damn.
Me: You have now finished your meeting with Legias, for better or for worse. Jinx: I think for worse, honestly.
Jinx: Do you want to say hello to house-builder guy? With the girlfriend sword? Adam: Hector?
Jinx: Do you think Hector was also under an enchantment, or did he just not recognize Jenny? Adam: Honestly, knowing Hector, it's a coin toss.
Adam: hello, you're looking very toady-ish. do you want to trade masks with me?
in which Jenny rolls a 5 on performance to send a non-verbal message, Jinx rolls a 3 on perception to understand it, and Adam rolls a 6 on insight to get what's going on; or: in which the party re-enacts the Good Omens baby switch
Adam: we need to go Jinx: what? She's got it in for her! Adam: she sure does Jinx: yeah, she needs our help! Adam: this is clearly a two-person affair
the (alleged) vampire: please sir, I insist, you must dance with me Jinx: excuse me, I have a girlfriend
Adam: why does being magical make you make bad decisions? Jinx: are you trying to say something? bite me, big girl.
Jenny, repeatedly failing her wisdom save despite the (alleged) vampire grappling Adam: a curious dance step, but I'll allow it
Jinx, investigating a "free drink token": THIS was so important? Adam: I picked her pocket for it Jenny: you STOLE from our HOST?! Adam: what are you gonna do, hit me about it? Jenny: THAT WOULD ALSO BE IMPROPER
Adam: I would not eat the food here. I mean, no offense to the host, I'm sure it tastes lovely, but she did mind control you all a bit. You might want to check for roofies.
Adam: Do we know anyone who hasn't got a will to live? Fern? What if we just send her Fern? Jenny: I think we should try to solve this problem without human sacrifice.

pre-relationship: 2, 4. general: 4, 7. love: 2, 3, 8. domestic life: 4, 10 ! :>
hii jerome!! thank you for sending an ask, i love seeing your ships :]
PRE-RELATIONSHIP:
2 has been answered here.
4. Who felt romantic feelings first?
When we met it was a crush-turned-friendship kind of thing. Like we're shy around one another and find each other cute but then we become friends and the initial attraction kind of ebbs. But then months pass of us getting to know each other and I'm like dang he's kind of perfect actually I wanna kiss him oh no.
So yeah, me, most likely. It would take Spencer a bit longer to recognize those emotions and accept them, but I see us falling for one another at the same pace. It just takes us a while to do anything about it.
GENERAL:
4. Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?
Spencer actually has a lot more experience than me in the romance department, believe it or not. In canon, he literally made out with an actress in a pool in season 1 lol so I definitely wasn't his first kiss. There's not much said about his romantic history pre-show, but I imagine he definitely dated around a little here and there but hadn't had a real long-term relationship before me. And, well, he wasn't my first relationship but he was my first kiss among other things to put it simply.
7. Who takes the lead in social situations?
We're both socially awkward, introverted nerds (he's an INTP, whereas I'm an INFP) so it honestly varies. Our job calls for us to start conversations whether they're uncomfortable or not, but if we're paired up in the field he'll usually take initiative at first but he lets me get a word in as well. But really, we function pretty fine in social situations, we can just be a little weird sometimes in ways others might not understand. We both won't hesitate to step in and stand up for each other if it comes to it, though.
However, I'm definitely the one to (maybe not confidently) go up to a server with him if they got his order wrong. If they got my order wrong, I wouldn't want to be a bother, and he's the same way. So we can overcome our social anxiety if it means doing something for the other, if I'm making any sense.
LOVE:
2. What are their primary love languages?
My personal love languages are gift giving (primarily) and physical touch, I think. I absolutely love buying or (especially) making things for my loved ones if I can't afford to spend money. Honestly if I was rich I'd be buying people stuff all the time, and it makes me so happy when people enjoy the thing I made them. I also love giving and receiving hugs, having my hand held, cuddles and the likes, but I can be touch averse at times depending on the person. Spencer is the same way.
I think Spencer's would be quality time (primarily) and physical touch as well. I've noticed through my binge of CM that he's often inviting his friends out to events and stuff. I believe conversations count as quality time, so he'd really appreciate someone who's willing to listen to him go on for as long as he wants and do the same in turn. And despite being a total germophobe, he loves receiving hugs and loving gestures from people he's close to. He's secretly very touch-starved.
3. Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?
I do on occasion just because I love watching him try not to smile and roll his eyes at me. We'd probably make stupid Doctor Who references at each other ("Are you a weeping angel? 'Cause I could stare at you all day.")
But Spencer goes all out with his, and I could see him being especially corny on anniversaries or romantic holidays. He even flirts in other languages and leaves me to scramble to try and figure out what the heck he just said to me.
8. Who’s better at comforting the other?
I feel like we can both get kind of panicky and awkward when it comes to comforting people who are upset, but when it comes to it all we really need is someone to be there for us and listen if we need to vent or just hold us if we need to cry. So I don't think either of us would be "better" at it, you know? We just know what to do for each other.
DOMESTIC LIFE:
4 & 10 have been answered ^^

questions about suranga ! why did they pick their name / do you think it fits them ? what is their gender & sexuality ? what are their (romantic) relationships like ? what is their motivation, either in general and/or to pursue villainy ?
alright let's go!
The name ‘Suranga’ when i originally looked it up while trying to name him meant something like divine? It apparently also means orange, which is funny cos of his arrogance and daring stats lol, though he was more of a bluestep when i first made him, so yeah, oddly fitting. As for why he picked his name, I think I decided it was a name someone he almost came to see as a parental figure in his pre-vigilante days would’ve given their kid, if they’d been able to have one. In some ways, that was his way of honoring them and it was the first thing that could be his (if also something residual from farm training and people-pleasing to need someone else to pick).
he could’ve gone for something more common but then again, it wasn’t a name he was intending to share with anyone else until ortega, otherwise, he was always giving fake names. whether suranga actually believes he still deserves his name, though, honestly varies with his self-loathing levels. this guy has so many complexes lmao.
Genderwise, it’s kinda a mess? At first seeing ricardo on the news gave him some gender revelations, starting to id as a binary trans guy and staying stealth with the rangers (and it was def comforting to know there was a fellow trans man on the team, even if he and sentinel were never close) but it didn’t fully feel right? Then post second escape and through puppeting yasmin he gradually realizes oh, the whole girl thing isn’t so bad when it’s on his terms (or close enough), yoink, my gender now. As yasmin he’s a lot more confident, so he basically trials things he’d never be able to do as himself through her and post-debut, he gets a little bit bolder with his own body.
i’m ultimately imagining whatever mess in books 3 or 4 happens if ace gets their body back like this:
suranga: sorry abt the whole bodystealing thing thanks for the gender tho
ace: ???
Obv with the whole maintaining two different identities thing (without even factoring in argos post-debut), the Autism™, and never really having a stable sense of self thanks to cuckoo training (plus SO MUCH TRAUMA), it’s hard to actually pinpoint what his gender is, at best i’d say something like uh, genderqueer/genderfluid?
Sexuality is similarly a very big mess. He’s definitely aspec/some kind of aroflux, and his ongoing secret crush on ricardo is a jumble of ortega being his first real friend (and not letting anyone else close enough to have other points of reference), and being a simultaneously touch averse AND touch starved mf, and also the gender confusion triggered by ric before even meeting him (‘do i want to be him or be friends with him??’) so suranga’s whole ability to determine if it’s romantic/sexual attraction or platonic feelings is very very fucked. With ortega specifically they used to be very close (he thought the world of him tbh), but with ricardo hovering since their reunion he’s trying to keep him at arms length, because he’s very aware how well ortega can read him. He can’t help but go back to ortega in spite of his efforts to stay away, partly because he wants ortega to stop and/or help him but doesn’t know how to ask, or if he can.
He’s honestly very clueless on the chen attraction thing. There’s the baggage from having known eachother back before, but also post-heartbreak he can better relate to chen (which includes a mutual hatred of stairs!) because of the chronic pain/fatigue problems he’s had to deal with, and spoon is also a big factor - he does prefer cats, and his own cat Fred in particular that stayed with elena after HB,, but getting to hang out with spoon is pretty good too.
As yasmin, he becomes very fond of mortum, but he’s not sure he’d call it romantic attraction, though they might’ve flirted a bit at the start. Suranga really enjoys the doctor’s company and respects her a lot, in part cos it’s so fun to nerd out over tech stuff, and there’s none of the baggage that comes with ortega. he’d rather not compromise that friendship by stringing her along, so I think he makes it clear at the gala on the feelings? i’m still working out his canon route, but for sure he tells mortum the truth in retri.
Also his flirting as yasmin bleeds over into his argos persona when he fights with argent. he def likes playing with fire lol. Romantic relationships are a big ????
However, in general relationship terms, he’s pretty familial with rosie and his crew, in part cos the dynamic reminds him a lot of the rangers in his sidestep days, and old habits are hard to shake.
Motivation tends to vary, but the underlying principles are that he’s very very tired and bitter and just wants to feel like he’s in some control of his life again/not powerless - the argos suit is in part a mobility aid, because it lets him do what he could as sidestep, and more. argos gives him a lot of freedom and at times euphoria, but also huge guilt, just as he does with yasmin. he's following the path of least resistance (fate motive), even if that’s driving himself (further) into a self-destructive spiral. at least it’s by his hand instead of someone else’s?
Basically he’s swinging between these two modes:
Tumblr media
He also does a lot of joking to deflect from when he accidentally lets slip he’s not doing well  (which is. all the time) which is probably best summarized by an excerpt from the Hoots scene:
Tumblr media
Faulty logic aside, there’s a lot of anger at himself, especially his past self for his naivety and getting careless (as much as he tries to bury it, he’s still a hero at heart), but also at the Farm, but it’s not like he can really touch them. I have a soft spot for the outsider scar cos that’s the first one i ever got, and the whole disconnect from the rest of the world feels very very fitting, and coupling that with the suicidal scar (so suicidal from rebirth → outsider into retri), though I have tried him out with puppetmaster too, and maybe some parts from the hunger scar can work too?
idk if he'll actually remain driven enough to stick to being argos, but it sure is fun watching him be a trainwreck about it
this has been a (semi-coherent) ramble about suranga thanks for indulging me <3

Hi :)
You are one of the only people I really see on here that posts anything about ashton/laudna (and your posts always make me laugh) and I was wondering when you first started shipping the two of them?
Personally, I started to become fond of their relationship in episode 2 when Laudna first introduced Pate to the group. Ashton was so entertained and expressed his interest and how he never wanted it to end. It stood out to me that everyone else was in a way holding back (or outwardly expressing) their discomfort, with Imogen even saying that she never got used to it, even after two years of traveling together. It made me happy that Laudna had at least one person in the group who wasn't immediately put off by her creepy nature. Ashton and Laudna were already two of my favorite characters and I love their dynamic.
I also never really understood why this ship is not as popular as some of the other ships. I'm not bashing other ships at all, but the disinterest in this relationship is interesting when looking at it through the lens of someone who has been shipping them most of the time. idk it just makes sense to me.
i just love how surprisingly honest and healthy their relationship is and I just wanted to know your thoughts.
TLDR: I would love to know when you started shipping Ashton and Laudna and some of your general thoughts on their realtionship? Love the posts <3
Oh this is so sweet!! I’m glad my tomfoolery makes you laugh <3
As for when I started shipping them, that was way back in March of this year (I rarely start shipping characters right away, hella impressed how early you were on this shit), I had enjoyed their dynamic before that but what really got me on board with them as a ship was this post by svartalfhild (which they’ve expanded on since initial posting). They did a great job articulating and consolidating everything I like about Ashton/Laudna 😊
As for what /I/ like about them personally, that includes the whole Brick Shithouse/Breakable Bird-Boned Waif dynamic, most recently highlighted in the latest episode of Ashton (the barbarian) making sure to look out for Laudna (the squishy spellcaster) during the fight with Werewolf Chetney  I also enjoy their contrasting personalities. Ashton’s exterior is very rough but actually has a heart of gold, while Laudna is the outwardly happy-go-lucky type but has a lot of darkness hiding behind that bubbly exterior. Neither shy away from the other’s interior or exterior and I feel like they help bring their more hidden aspects out of each other for the better  They both have a similar background of “physically fucked up after traumatic experience” (I even made a meme about that lol) which I think gives them a pretty unique point of common ground  Something you talked about was how Ashton genuinely enjoys who fucking weird and out there Laudna is, with Pate being a great of that. While everyone is horrified or just put off by something Laudna created as a coping mechanism to keep herself going crazy with loneliness, Ashton thinks it’s incredible, exemplified by him getting Pate a suit and never hesitating to interact directly with Pate  And something I mentioned to a friend a couple months back was how Ashton is touch adverse (this was before we knew about his chronic pain), whereas Laudna likes to be physically close with others. Ashton only seemed to be ok with physical touch when it’s violent, ie not wanting a massage at the spa but diving head first into a fight at the Ball, so I figured Laudna being so touchy feely would be great in getting Ashton to accept positive physical touch. But then even after learning that his touch-aversion is the result of chronic pain from his Kintsugi scars, I still think Laudna could be a positive source of physical touch for him since her cold dead skin could bring some pain relief for him
So yeah while this isn’t /everything/ I like about their relationship and dynamic (I’m not the best at right meta or articulating my thoughts like this lol), these are definitely some of the main things I love about them 😊
I am hoping as more time passes and Ashton and Laudna have more moments together, more people will catch on to them and join in on this fun little ship, I think the lack of interest or just general awareness stems from a lot of attention being focused elsewhere   Tho by-gods am I going to annoy this fandom with my Tombstone shenanigans and maybe even pspsps a few into joining us 😁    But anyway, I’m so glad you like my shitposts (even the ridiculously cringy ones 😁) and here’s to The Punk King and Undead Goth Queen of our hearts🖤

So I have a question and i just wanna say in no way am i trying to be mean or anything I'm genuinely curious and I hope i don't come off sounding like an asshole because I'm really trying not to be 😭. But I've seen that you ship gwyn and azriel from acotar and i read the series myself recently which i very much enjoyed but I really couldn't find myself shipping them together while reading it. I was waiting for something to happen between them that would tip me off that maybe they were into each other a little but i couldn't or i just didn't feel much when reading about them.
I wanted to ask what exactly your reasons were for wanting them together and again I'm really not trying go be rude i just wanted to see from your perspective.
you're not coming off rude at all, bestie!! its so fine!!
i'll be honest, up until acosf came out, i was at peace with the idea that azriel was probably gonna be paired off with elain and it didn't bother me all that much, but then gwyn came into the picture and everything just made sense to me
whilst the three sisters/three brothers plot would be incredibly predictable, azriel and gwyn's story is quite poetic to me.
here you have this powerful warrior whose always viewed himself lesser than his brothers, who goes for women he deep down knows he shouldn't, who never saw himself worthy of love or just never believed it was in the stars for him because he has all these "ugly" reminders (aka his scars being a direct and constant reminder of his trauma)
then you have gwyn who is the opposite of azriel in a sense. she went through something equally as horrible and traumatic, but her scars are internal. she is strong, bold and sassy when you eventually get to know her, and very determined but there is still that fear holding her back from being truly healed. she is terrified that the library will be her future forever, that the closest she will get to that kind of love would be in books she reads.
i think they both also parallel each other in how they view everything. they both care deeply about the people around them, but azriel's view tends to be more pessimistic when it comes to him and gwyn tends to be more isolating.
i think through the small interactions we do see of them, they just fit each other personality wise. azriel has seen gwyn at her worst and yet helps her get to her best through training. gwyn doesn't treat azriel like the scary spymaster everyone views him as, she treats him like a person. add in the wee "you're the new ribbon, az" and "see you tomorrow, shadowsinger" and i just think they compliment each other so well
gwyn catches him off guard, she helps him just relax a little and we see it throughout the book, but i think the best is in the azriel bonus chapter. he was so wound up and conflicted and going through so much, and all of a sudden here comes gwyn who throws him off and he actually seems quite relaxed throughout the interaction. gwyn would give him the unconditional love he doesnt believe he deserves because she sees him as a person
whilst i think azriel would help be the person gwyn needs to heal. obviously its a personal journey, but having someone there with her who quite literally saw her at her worst would be that small comfort she needs when she is healing. plus the fact she is comfortable around him shows that she does trust him
there is obviously other small moments like the fact he was worried when she was in the blood rite, their story being a parallel to a little mermaid retelling and the general angst of the necklace situation being something sjm would definitely do but i just truly adore them so much
and the idea that both of them have this aversion to touch but would help each other through it? help each other heal from their trauma/scars?🥹yeah okay im just such a sucker for them

I was reading your post about Stephanie and she did kind of strike me as a 3rd wheel in that interview with Nicole and Matt. Also her saying Leon is always going after women that don't want him had me eye-rolling wondering if she was including Ada in there. She just strikes me as a little shady especially with inserting that scene of Claire falling on top of Leon in "Infinite Darkness". (Not trying to stir the pot but just had some thoughts I had really)
spoilers for death island + general fandom nonsense
i (along with a lot of other people in re fandom) have had an aversion to her (stephanie) for a long time, but we could never place what it was about her that we didn't like
then it was like a flip was switched when we all saw that interview.
she's a pick me
it's the way she constantly talks down ada and uplifts leon in such a pick me way that it makes it irritating to listen to her misinterpret and mischaracterize the characters.
a lot of ex claire stans also really dislike stephanie's (and i guess in turn capcom's) recent characterization of claire. they've reduced her down to this weird good girl mary sue type of character (but she swears and has a gun) but has like very little substance to her. (which i've argued is a perfect self insert)
i see a lot of praise for re2r omg she was only 19!!! and she can fight!!! and she's more capable than leon1!!! (ISN'T THAT WEIRD. WHY DOES SHE HAVE THIS WEIRD OVERPOWERED CHARACTERIZATION)
IT'S BAD WRITING IMO
i also saw stephanie characterizing claire in this self sacrificing way in this really elementary understanding of character arcs- "like if claire were to sacrifice herself that would be so pivotal in her character arc...." no??? if anything it's fairly predictable and meaningless??? claire has barely any foils or flaws to her character. she's written consistently to go after a man (her brother) and has very little flaws or anything of substance. SURE SHE'S COOL.... WHAT ELSE.
(YOU CAN LIKE CHARACTERS LIKE THESE, IT'S FINE. I ALSO LIKE CHARACTERS THAT ARE KINDA BLAND. NO SORRY THAT'S A LIE LOL I DON'T)
this wouldn't apply to leon as he has been seen to have some sort of personal desire (ada) and to see him sacrifice himself would mean more as he never would end up getting what he would've wanted. but he would be maybe content knowing that he saved someone- but it's more interesting to theorize if it would really make him happy. this also goes into death island and how "friendship" seems to be making him happy lol (but at the same time i don't see the group actively hanging out lmao)
honestly at this point i rarely think of claire until someone brings her up. she's such a non character to me, like what is there to like?? and that's not even touching on how a lot of her stans take active time to compare her and ada and to trash ada.
i think that it can be wonderful to like good moral characters. i think it's GOOD to want to be like good characters. But people in real life aren't like that. and to talk about claire like she actually has some substance is just odd. if MAYBE claire had more going on, i'd think more of her. but yeah
stephanie just fundamentally does not understand the re characters and seem to just be profiting on the fact that her "career" can have some face time. (which honestly good for her, get that bag) but at the same time, it just seems shady and weird. she never struck me as someone genuine (based on the few interviews and videos and articles i've seen from her) (the article where she basically just teased the cleon fans??? and then basically said ahahah but your ship is dead nehneheneh WAS FUCKING WEIRD AND RUDE TO CLEON FANS???- ALSO OBVIOUSLY I'M PARAPHRASING)
you can't tell me that in that interview (with matt and nicole), that she was supposed to be there. it just seemed like she just decided to crash it. and both nicole and matt aren't confrontational people (which other people would def take advantage of, same with nick imo)
edit: i forgot to mention and this is def stirring the pot so i get that- but i find it interesting how re cast don't seem to talk/hang out with stephanie unless necessary (press etc) something to think about is all

Question is commander lockup gay, pan, ace or Demi? He just looks to beautiful to be straight. Also what kind of partner would he have? If he even wanted one. Just asking.
FFKJGHJDKHGJDF ASSIGNED TOO PRETTY TO BE STRAIGHT I CAN'T-
ok, first gonna go into Lockup specifically, then gonna go into some Jekyll-worldbuildy stuff cause this has been on my mind for some time. Strap in Nonnie >:D
aight, to give the short answer, he's bi (which means attracted to all to me, idk, I grew up with it that way and the people I know that are bi are very much down to date anyone that is non-genderconforming. anyway) and currently very much not in the search of a partner, not as long as the war is going on. (and after the war? as in the canon timeline? fuck no. Lockup doesn't talk anymore now and he's shorn his hair off.) If you were to ask him, he'd say something like 'someone he feels safe with, he trusts, he can cry near without inhabitation'. It's such a broad answer, it's almost a non-answer again, though you have to know that the chance of him feeling safe enoug to cry near a person is zero to none. He'd also want someone adjacent to the war somehow or someone that is aware of what is going on. He doesn't want to have completely re-explain his trauma and terror to some civi, it's hard enough as it is to talk with people without his Everything standing in the way.
Traits he'd 'like' would be something like 'stability, kindness, self assured, humor'. Very basic, I know, but he honestly is currently just figuring things out (and has fucked around a bit because of it. He has yet to meet someone that has been able to come even close to making him wanna stay. Lockup has Issues) I'm sorry this is very hard to think about, he's a deeply unromantic person, both as in he doesn't really care for romance rn and generally unromantic. He can be, but that is more in the vain of trying out what it means to be 'romantic' to see if he'd like it. He's very ambivalent towards it. Ehhhhhhh he likes smiles? Enjoys palm kisses and the sorta snort people can do when they laugh?
....
Oh my god he wants a John Mactavish equivalent-
(I have no clue if this answered anything, but yeah. Here ya go :'))
now, for Jekyll-verse ideas, I'm gonna keep it under the cut
Look, in the broadest of all broadest senses, sexuality is a looooooot more loose in sw, at least to me. Every since I learned of that one wolf dude that is married to the future seeing death worm, I decided, screw it, I won't apply rules of attraction of our world to sw, we're going with the very basic "you like them? good" without caring for pretty much anything else. I make more of a distinction of 'has sexuell attraction or not'. Of course, there are a lot of cultures within the verse where this won't fly. Just as there's a completely different understanding of gender and sexuality in different cultures here, it's very much the case for sw. But that is going into specifics again.
I mean, Jackal (if they'd survived eyyyyyyyyy >:D) ends up with Kaia, a human with some togruta blood in his veins. Jackal is half fish, half zabrak, which is it's own whole thing again and they have teeth the size of fingers and ngl, not for everyone. Kaia on the other said 'jep! I like that one!'
So, that is all to say, I think of everyone as bisexuell unless explicitly stated otherwise. Hilarious lil fun-fact, quite a few of my characters (and headconans) are ace. Jackal, Hyde, Cody (he'll always be ace in everything thx) as examples. Margo and Eisen are aro/ace actually and it's absolutely hilarious because Eisen specifically knows he's hot and uses it as a negotiation tactic, but he's a deeply sex-averse person. Don't fuckin touch him, he will destroy you both verbally and physically.
So yeah, here's some Jekyll-verse stuff thoughts. Yay?

Do you have any HR recs for when the hero is like,,,,the opposite of a typical rake? Like not at all charismatic or charming but maybe a bit of an introvert/reserved seems kinda stuck up (I'm not doing a good job of this lol) oh I guess someone like westcliff-ish
Yeah!
The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne--Always, yes, but really I would say that this fits super well? Dorian Blackwell is a criminal and does like act kind of flirtatious towards the heroine initially... But she and the reader quickly realize that he's actually a big virgin who can't drive and has a touch aversion stemming from trauma pluuuuus this warped idea that his sexual desires are bad and dirty (they are not lmao, he just likes to give it to her a lil rough). He's charismatic, but after his initial emotional barriers are broken you realize that he's quiiiiiite introverted and scared (my baby!).
Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt--I wouldn't call Winter Makepeace a rake... at all. He's a virgin, but he also is kind of reserved and disparaging of high society. This could be right up your alley lol. Like, he does kick ass, but he's not... slick.
Unclaimed by Courtney Milan--Another virgin hero, but this guy is more charming. He's like, a good boy, not a snob. Idk if it works, but a rake he is not; I think he basically wrote a public manifesto about wanting to maintain his virginity until he's married/in love?
A Lady by Midnight by Tessa Dare--I just finished this the other night! The hero does fuck around a lot, but he's not a rake lmao. He's kind of gruff and reserved and the heroine just assumes he's not interested when in fact he is soooooo interested. He's not very good at talking, but he's good at fuckin' and fightin'.
Daring Pursuit by Kate Bateman--Out May 24. The hero has slept around a bit, but he's super reserved and un-rakeish. Very Westcliff-like, he wants to be an architect and disapproves of the heroine's freewheeling ways. HAAAARD Lillian/Westcliff vibes in the whole book.
Rules for Engaging the Earl by Janna MacGregor--The hero is a veteran with a chronic injury who's just generally kind of cold and shut off, in part because of his wound. He's very shy and withdrawn, which is often seen as aloofness.
The Earl I Ruined by Scarlett Peckham--This hero is seen as super uptight and socially awkward lol, the heroine assumes he hates her (he does not). He is also... not uptight... on the loooooow....
After Dark with The Duke by Julie Anne Long--Very dignified, aloof, uptight, seriously snobbish middle-aged hero. Runs into a very not-dignified, not aloof, and sexy young opera singer who just makes him so mad!!! What will he do!!! He might have to punish her!!!!!!
The Duchess Hunt by Lorraine Heath--This one is honestly better if you read Scoundrel of My Heart first, where the hero IS more of a rakish type. But both are great, so it's worth it. The hero is a sort of remote, businesslike duke who's just looking for a wife and doesn't want to have to flirt and shit to get her. He just wants a quiet bitch lmao. Who's helping him in his quest? His pretty secretary, who he depends on for any and everything. Everything. E v e r y t h i n g.
Marrying Winterborne by Lisa Kleypas--This might be a controversial opinion, but I would actually say that Rhys Winterborne has a lot of the qualities of Westcliff (who isn't a rake) and Derek Craven (who pretends that he isn't, but he fucked for money and can turn it on when he wants to). He definitely has been around the carousel, but he's also kind of like. Bad at expressing his feelings? And gruff? That's one of the main issues that initially causes conflict with him and Helen. Like, Rhys knows he's a great lay, but he's not gonna sit there and try to wheedle you into the bedroom. He's gonna be like "HERE. HAVE THIS FLOWER. LET'S GO FUCK." Which I like, but it's an issue in the plot lmao.
Dearest Rogue by Elizabeth Hoyt--Another hero with a chronic injury. He's the bodyguard for this young heiress who lost her sight a few years back, and he's very uptight and stodgy and protective. But what if the true danger is him??? Him and the danger and poses to her virginity???
Duke of Midnight by Elizabeth Hoyt--I could see an argument for Maximus being a rake because he's fucked around and can put up a good front, but he's truly just a deeply weird, cold man who happens to get his fires burning for the baddest lady's companion in town. Like, I don't think it's a him thing, it's a him with her specifically thing.
The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt--The hero is pockmarked and scarred and thinks himself hideous, so he's more of a recluse than a rake. He's considered very rude and only has sex with sex workers by the time the story begins. LITTLE DOES HE KNOW....
Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas--The hero runs the Bow Street Runners (so like... CSI: Miami but with less rules, somehow) but he's like. The leader. So he's very rule-abiding and cool, calm, and collected. Also, he's a widower, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't had sex since his wife died? Enter: the hot young thang he hires as like, a maid or something, not knowing that she wishes to seduce and ruin him for REVENGE.
The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare--This is another one where it's like, he's scarred. And like, there are two ways in which romance heroes deal with scars. They either put on an eyepatch and like, FULLY EMBRACE THE LOOK, which is what Dorian Blackwell does in The Highwayman; or they go "I AM A MONSTERRRRRR" and just like. Try to only fuck with the lights out. Like this guy! Anyway, this is a more humorous take on the scarred hero, as all Tessa Dare books are a little funnier.
The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley--This one is really, really good. The hero is seen as rude and cold because he's on the autism spectrum (and also because he was treated horribly his entire life because of it). He's obviously a great guy, he just needs some time to get to know people. Also, what a hot read.
