Not surprised Odysseus is related to the Greek gods cause that's basically a requirement for all Greek heroes, but I'm feeling some kind of way that it's hermes
YEAH!!! Like I always knew Ody was Athena’s champion which I thought was unique for Greek Heroes bc most are demigods, but also it makes sense for him to still have a divine relation since he’s technically royalty. a lot of kings based their authority on the fact that they have divine blood (whether immediate family or no)
but the fact that Ody’s Greek god relative is Hermes just hits different in the best way. tbh i have really found it a bit of a tragedy that Ody was not Hermes chosen champion at first simply because of the similarities between then AND having the god of traveling as your patron is super helpful for Ody especially (because…reasons) like no offense to Athena because her and Ody have a really interesting dynamic and wisdom is a very prominent theme that follows Ody, but it doesn’t encapsulate the whole man
AND THEB IT TURNS OUT THEY’RE RELATED SO MY WOE OF A MISSED OPPORTUNITY WAS OVERTURNED

SO! Thoughts on the Circe Saga??
Oh boy, where to start! ＞︿＜
First of all, I freaking loved it! Circe's voice! HERMES! And the second part of There Are Other Ways! AAAAH! One thing that I absolutely loved about this saga is that all songs smoothly transition to the next scene, especially from "Done For" to "There Are Other Ways". Those two songs are meant to be one! It's amazing!
Hermes' song… What am I even supposed to say? I love it! I think my favorite part is when he reaches that high note on "manifest a ✨being✨ of your creation". It's like butter in my brain. And when he gets so giddy and says "and I call this root, holy moly" 😩
Done For. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT ODYSSEUS WOULD SUMMON A FREAKING CYCLOPS! What am I even supposed to do now huh?!! I have already animated the whole fight scene between Odysseus and Circe's monster. 😆 But either way, I loved that you could hear the anger in Circe's voice. That she obviously doesn't trust Odysseus and that he doesn't really have 100% good intentions toward her. And the delivery of "I’m not sure I follow". Ody has his stern tone, he knows exactly what Circe meant but doesn't really want to accept yet what situation he has stumbled upon.
I actually thought the song was just a tad bit too short, but because it transitions so smoothly to the next song, I didn't mind it so much.
And then we have There Are Other Ways....
That is the song that I was most excited about! I had so many theories on how Jay would depict the relationship of Odysseus and Circe, and I did mostly believe that those two wouldn't "do it". In the snippet for example, Circe was about to stab Ody. Like, if she did stab him, why the heck would she wanna still sleep with him afterwards???? And if Ody discovered the knife and prevented the stabbing, then the rest of the song would just be super awkward.... So when he refused her and started to sing about Penelope…. 😭
Then I really liked how the conflict ends with Odysseus being humble but also honest. He begs for mercy and explains his situation. Urg I imagine that his eyes are teary, realizing that he has been gone for 12 years. And that is what all it took! Circe isn't a smexy evil witch, she is a person who just has her guards up.
And the end with that song! When Circe turns Odysseus' men back.... It's epic and I really wanna do an animatic of it 😣
In conclusion.
Did I like The Circe Saga?
Yes.

Listened to the Circe Saga last night! (I'm in the superior timezone, 15 hours before the americans lol /j) Absolutely incredible, did not disappoint!

Everyone has this air of mystery and regality around them since, well, they're gods. I can see Achilles for Missingno, or Chaos for something more foreboding and spooky, all the overlapping voices- maybe him in "glitch" form! Persephone for Meau- motherly and kind, but capable of rage. Thanatos or Zagreus for a young adult Ody, could see the high energy smart talking Hermes for Flurry, Circe.. not sure- maybe Artemis? Persephone is good, but Meau has a bit of a stronger, more authoritative sound. She’s not nearly as soft as Persephone is! Her voice commands attention and respect!
Zagreus actually sounds like just, an adult Odysseus, instead of a young adult. It’s pretty close to what I have in mind, but I think the accent would be a lot less noticeable. Influences by hearing Noe talk, but not nearly as strong type of deal! Overall, very close, going in my favourites!!
Hermes is also in the right direction, but not quite for Flurry, he’s definitely more energetic and chaotic and sounds a bit younger.
Overall, 7/10, very good voices in there and Noe’s is still perfect, I am off to raid his voice lines to make a few animatics too XD

I need a sitcom of Odysseus, Penelope, and Telemachus Post Odyssey re-adjusting to being home. Telemachus getting used to having a man in the house he can trust. Penelope getting used to sharing Royal responsibilities again. Odysseus getting over everything he’s been through. Athena can also be there mostly to train Telemachus and give Ody advice.
AND HERMES. He just kinda shows up sometimes and Ody is so scared the gods are coming back to meddle in his life. ( Which doesn’t happen, Hermes just likes causing mischief)

Short version
Ody: retired soldier who came back. Inherited his Dad’s bar, renovated and made major changes
All main people from the Iliad the book (Achilles, Nestor, Menelaus, Agamemnon, etc.) are regulars.
Pen is one of his local suppliers who he has a giant crush on. Her son, Telemachus, works at the bar with Anthiax, because I have a thing for them trying to get them together, okay
Eurylochus is a bouncer, Polites works as one of the bartenders
Paris was banned after some. Incidents. But he always tries to sneak back in
Poseidon is the police chief who’s convinced Odysseus is up to something. Zeus, his brother, runs the biggest gang in town, and is also a regular.
No one really knows what’s up with Athena and Hermes but they’re entertaining

like wdym you don’t know that in the very very old myths about sirens they were described as having the lower half of a bird and the wings of said bird and they weren’t even found in water at all they could be found literally anywhere in the world and they sang about your deepest desires not just sex so asexuals (me) wouldn’t be exempted from their seduction but over time they got merged with mermaids and now all the depictions of sirens are just hot girls with tails ad singing about sex like they were seducing sailors do you think anyone who‘s stuck on a boat wouldn’t have sex and gay themselves also the odyssey was where the sirens were first mentioned and ody asked what was left of his crew to tie him up to the mast (also the reason one of the artists who draw ody/jesus (this isn’t a ship okay it’s just that wolfy draws them like not together separately of course) didn’t want to draw that one specific part in the odyssey was because we would ‘get horny in the tags’ so yeah) and the rest of the crew has earplugs in and ody wanted to know what the sirens were saying (if you think this is the plot of som it is bc each of the books in the pjo is based on a greek myth which is so cool but i kinda wish that there could be like a pjo x orpheus and eurydice book like the plot of the book based on that myth bc it’s so tragic he looked back too early he missed her she’s a hungry young girl no stranger to the world and he’s working on a song and when it’s done spring will come again) so that’s the reason of that and the sirens were actually singing about him reuniting with his wife and son back in ithica and the only reason why ody was in this mess in the first place was because he fucking revealed his name to polyphemus like buddy you had a good cover i get polites died i get that you’re grieving but this is no time to anger the cyclops reminder that it wouldn’t have happened if you just killed him like athena said so poseidon wouldn’t have left you with forty-six men from your six hundred men not including the twelve that the cyclops killed and i would say that ody deserves it but the butterfly effect is getting a little too big don’t you think like at least epic!ody doesn’t get seduced by circe but calypso is still there at least he tries to be loyal and you know when ody was killing the suitors it’s very dramatic but also he’s naked which is kinda weird like are you trying to turn the suitors gay before you kill them but okay and also circe i love her so much yes she’s done a lot of wrong things but she’s so hot like epic!circe’s voice is so good also hermes is amazing his voice is so good and all the ruthlessness animatics right yeah all of them show poseidon bullying ody which is sad but like that isn’t even the half of it ody i’m sorry also they named the moon rover yk after ody like why are y’all condemning the man to even more places that is very clearly not ithica like come on it’s been more than centuries let the poor man rest with his wife and son in peace also if you edit like i know you don’t but [name redacted for privacy] does i’ll recommend this to her later maybe but i know she was complaining about tiktok audios getting muted but maybe uh try scrounging in the depth of musicals because so many of them have so much potential to be edit audios like i know one from heathers which isn’t really an edit audio or anything but it’s just a bunch of teenagers going ‘holy shit’ like twenty times in the background you should check it out

I kind of want to talk about my canon and have nowhere else to, soo-
The Big Three Kid rule was like. Highkey fuckin ignored. In my canon. Very highkey. My halfbrother (Danny) was cabin head of 3(I was co!!) and therefore the rest of camp alongside a few other counselors — Odie (HEY! YOU! YOUVE ASKED HERE BEFORE! /aff) was technically a lead but nobody acknowledged it since he was one of two hades kids, one of which stayed in the hermes cabin.
All this goes to say my brother deserves a fucking nap from dealing with Cyrus’ three am inventions and Odie’s bullshit and also me asking to share a bed because I had a nightmare and gods be damned if having my brother hold me doesn’t help.
I honestly don’t really miss my mortal parents. They were kind of, how do I put this - Incredibly Shitty And Should Have Had CPS Called On Them.
I’m glad I found camp.
Anyway - To any other Poseidon kids, canon or not, I’m taking co-counselor position back - I’ll be your new big sister, if you need one.

I have a list of every audio/song I want to do an animatic of. I really wanna do Obedience from Beloved King after one song from the Circe Saga.
The problem is, which song should I pick? I know if I take Wouldn't You Like, I will just end up animating Hermes in 24 fps.
Then we have There Are Other Ways… I have some neat visual ideas when Circe is taking advantage of Ody, but I don't really want it to be too triggering for people. I have seen others' animatics of that song, and the majority of them are very "safe". Like, they are only holding hands and almost kissing each other. And mine sketches are more… sexual in an uncomfortable way. There are also some that are "sexy," but it's more for the sexual sake, not about a person taking advantage of someone else.
Maybe it's just me complaining, but I think that the idea of blackmailing isn't sexy nor romantic. I have seen so many comments about Odysseus cheating on Penelope with Circe, and I'm like, Umm… No???
I visualize that both Circe and Ody have distorted faces. I don't really wanna spoil, but it's in the same lane with my idea of horror horse!Poseidon. I think that Circe's motivation is that men have come to her island before, and she suffered a "heavy loss," and now is willing to do anything to protect her daughters. So she is willing to do anything, from blackmailing to using her body, so she can put Odysseus in a position where she can stab him in the back. Odysseus is pretty much unaware of this information, as far as I understand, and in his position, he is being forced into it. At least this is what I got from the snippets we have so far....
But then again! The song itself already has this really romantic/sensual tune, so my ideas don't really fit as visuals for the song anyways. 😑 I probably gonna wait for the whole song to be released until I start working on anything.

Sailors
There they were.
The guys did the Halloween challenge.
They all went as the Sailor Scouts from Sailor Moon.
And strut the halls in their Sailor skirts.
Guffaws of laugher were heard in the halls. When they went to the girls, all three of them laughed. How far would the guys go to make their girlfriends laugh.
“You did it…” Theresa could hardly breathe. “You actually did it.”
Jay went as Sailor Moon. Odie went as Sailor Mercury. Archie went as Sailor Mars. Herry was Sailor Jupiter. Neil was Sailor Venus.
Considering Sailor Moon was based off of Greek and Roman mythology, their planet titles fitted them all to a tee.
Least Neil was enjoying it the most. Being the Sailor Scout of Beauty.
Belle walked to her boyfriend. “You and Mina have the same hair in the anime. Grow it out, and you got this down, one hundred percent.”
As they hugged Neil chuckled. “Then I won’t get any modelling work at all. They’re not going for guys with long hair.”
Belle mused, eyes to the side. “I do recall some Sailor Moon villains, even the guy ones have long hair, so you should be good to go.”
They both laughed.
“Show this to Aphrodite, please… She’ll love it. Just say it’s also a tribute to her.” Belle looked at Theresa. “And Theresa can go as Endymion.”
They all laughed again.
“And be asleep for all eternity?” Theresa began. “I’m a fighter, not Sleeping Beauty.”
They knew she was referring to their Endymion, not Tuxedo Mask.
After Atlanta consoled her boyfriend, who was least enjoying this, she walked up to Jay and Herry. “How did you get Archie to do this…?”
“We have some… incriminating photos of him from last month’s party,” said Herry.
So Archie was blackmailed. At least Atlanta could check off that she saw her boyfriend in a skirt.
“Please, please show these to the Gods…!” exclaimed Belle. “I wanna see how they’d react. Hermes, Ares, and Zeus.”
As they dashed to the secret location where the Gods were, they made sure each God saw each respective Sailor and their planet titles.
Aphrodite loved Neil’s, despite the fact he was in a skirt.
Ares wanted to crawl into a hole and die when he saw Archie, but was glad that the God of War had some mention in the anime.
Hermes had an absolute ball with Odie’s and loved the tribute.
Zeus and Hercules didn’t know whenever to pity Herry or to laugh. Though when they showed Sailor Jupiter’s Supreme Thunder attack on the PMR, Zeus was filled with pride.
Jay going as Sailor Moon, and that they were both leaders, they showed Artemis. She, Athena, and Hera got a good laugh.
Halloween this year was a great hit.

CLASS OF THE TITANS (2005-2008) | REVIEW
so here’s a show that I used to watch as a child but couldn’t actually remember almost a decade later! then i discovered that it was about greek mythology and i knew i had to watch it again, and it is soooo worth it.
OVERVIEW: The descendants of Achilles, Artemis, Hercules, Jason, Narcissus, Odysseus, and Theseus are summoned to New Olympia on a mission to save the world from Cronus, who wants revenge after escaping from 4,000-years imprisonment.
RATING: 8/10. the show is honestly actually quite accurate to a point,, and i actually learnt new things about greek mythology from watching. there’s a lot of thought put into the storyline, and it’s really great to see.

THINGS I LIKED:
- greek myth au where Pan is a DJ who goes by the name of “DJ Panic” and uses his music to make plants grow wildly and kill off the human race >:D
- literal dad Apollo with a full belly and beard???? what a hottie
- EVIL CRONUS!!! what a great villain!!!!! he has everything you could ever want in a villain:
evil smile, evil laugh, evil motivations, wears black 24/7, follows a red/black/grey/white colour theme, is tall, says “ta-ta” and waves like a posh british person, says the line “come to daddy” when referring to a monster, grins a lot, wicked eyebrows, black hair with a lethal streak of grey, sharp cheekbones, is polite in a condescending way, mocks people, has cool scythe weapons, hires dumb henchmen.
- Hephaestus where he isn’t dumb or bullied by the other olympians!!!! he’s smart and a little feisty, and he has a special boot for his leg!!! he’s probably actually one of the most essential gods in the story!
- Zeus is not portrayed as a playboy.. if you want King Zeus, Leader of the Greek gods and Pursuer of Justice- this is the show for you <3
- Hermes being a dad and scolding his son, while also being proud of what a great thief he is (this is about Autolycus)
- using the version of the Arachne myth where Athena curses Arachne because she was pissed at how good Arachne was. i do think that Athena must have been a little bit vain as demonstrated in Paris’ myth AND the Arachne myth so i’m glad they chose this version. however, Athena acknowledges that perhaps she was unjust, and Arachne acknowledges that she shouldn’t have been so egotistical about it- and they make up, and Arachne is turned back into a human <3
- Hera’s battle armour transformation
- Orion and Artemis T-T Orion’s transformation from the sky was very awesome and creative,, and it was very touching how he and Artemis made-up <3
- awesome story line!! it’s very well written, and it explores so many different aspects of greek mythology- some stuff i hadn’t even heard of until i researched further!
- makes mythology easier for children to understand, without dumbing it down too much. Cronus even refers to Hera, Poseidon AND Zeus as his children, despite Hera and Zeus being married- but it’s done so that it doesn’t sound weird, which is an incredibly brave decision for a kids’ show
- portraying the descendants of the heroes as being of various cultures- this is something soooo tricky to do i feel, and so many people do it in a way that completely erases the fact that greek mythology is GREEK! here, the greek gods themselves are still greek, and the main protagonist (Jay) is also Greek,, but they make it completely plausible that since thousands of years have passed, the Greek hero bloodlines have mixed with other cultures and thus their descendants are of other cultures besides Greek. i thought this was a very clever way of having diversity without it being at the expense of authenticity.
- the soundtrack was pretty cool i thought, and the animation very smooth
- classifying Narcissus as a “hero”.. idk,, i just thought it was a funny idea and Neil’s power being “luck” was hilarious
- everytime Jay said “Cronus!”
- if you like the HC that Poseidon has no idea how to swim due to him taking advantage of his ability to control the sea, then there is a scene towards the end of this show where Poseidon is literally drowning due to the fact that he doesn’t know how to swim T-T
- the ending!!!!!!!! aghhhh Cronus ur the baddest of them all King <3 really wish there was a season 3, but at the same time, it was a good place to stop.
- Herry’s grandma whacking Cronus. get his ass Queen!
THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:
- i guess rewatching as an older person, i never realised how misogynistic some of Archie’s lines were.. like, i love Archie as a character- but some of his lines, especially those concerning Atalanta, were so possessive and weird and it’s odd because none of the other characters are like that.
- not something that i didn’t like per say, but i kinda thought from the first few episodes that it was Jay and Atalanta that would be together, but then Theresa came and it became Archie and Atalanta (punks stick together) and Theresa and Jay (good kids/leaders stick together) which was a little stereotypical i guess,, just something i observed
- alternative ending- i HATE the way Jay’s finger just kinda,, “wiggles” at the end like he’s still kinda alive after a piano has been dropped on him T-T
- Odie complaining every two episodes about how he’s “underrated” and “unappreciated” just because he’s the nerd character. the geeks on the team are literally so essential to the team’s success,, like the team would literally die without them and i’m a little sick of the trope where the nerd throws a temper tantrum because they’re the “weak link”... STOP IT! i want to see the nerd being on equal footing with the team, and understanding that they are just as valuable as the brawns of the team.
- Daedalus’ android counterpart was actually insanely freaky,, as was Cronus’ robot version, especially when it’s skin started to melt off in the fire :0
- Artemis being one of the 7 “original” heroes... Atalanta was literally right there?? also Hippolyta? Penthesilea? idk,,, odd decision.

I'd love some Lyla and Hugo headcannons please.
I love these two soooo much, let’s do some post-Hogwarts head canons:
They move in with Rose and Scorpius after graduating until they find their apartment
Rose is pregnant with her oldest, Hermès, at the time
They live in a nice spacious three bedroom/one bathroom apartment that Lyla flat out bought for them
They put a bunch of modifiers on their apartment, mostly on the windows to block out noise and keep their cats from jumping out the window
Lyla eventually wins over the whole Weasley family, with the exception of Lily
Mostly because she is a freelance writer and is able to babysit at any time
Also because you don’t fight with Rose, and she adores Lyla
Hugo was a witness at Louis and Anamika’s wedding/elopement, but Lyla was on assignment and missed it
She cried for a straight day after, but understood when Anamika explained the whole situation to her
Hugo and Lyla have five godchildren, Hermes Malfoy (Rose and Scorpius), Frankie Havings (Ali and Remus), Stephan Thomas (Lily and Ryan), Penny Jacobs (Molly and Artie), and Prisha “Paris” Weasley (Louis and Anamika)
Ryan fought for Hugo and Lyla to be Stephan’s godparents and Lily relented
Lyla and Lily still don’t get along after Hogwarts, but Lily is close to Hugo again by the time her second son is born
Lyla is so nervous when she gets pregnant that she doesn’t tell Hugo until she��s about 14 weeks along
Hugo is so excited to be a dad that she doesn’t know why she was nervous/anxious to tell him in the first place
Their first son, Evan Perseus looks just like Hugo, but with Lyla’s blue eyes
They both struggle with being parents at different times, mostly with their sleep schedules and work
Lyla’s parents push her to quit her job, especially when she tells them that she and Hugo are having a second baby
They never cared for Hugo, but now there was no denying he was part of the family
Their second son, Hector Draco looks like Blaise, especially when he gets older
He’s tall, dark, and handsome and loves his Grandpa Blaise sooo much
It forces Blaise and Daphne to consider if they should’ve had a second child and if it would’ve been better for Lyla to have a sibling
Hugo decides to quit his job writing for various publications, as he knows Lyla doesn’t want to leave her assistant editor job at the Prophet
Neither of them have to work because of Lyla’s inheritance, but they like what they do
Hugo stays home with the boys and writes his novels full time, while Lyla comes in and out
They are such homebodies
Their next child is very unexpected, and they don’t quite know what to do
Roslyn “Ro” Psyche is their only daughter and is spoiled as such
She is Lyla with Hugo’s red hair, she ends up going everywhere her parents go, she’s the perfect travel buddy
Lyla takes her to the Prophet offices when she has to be there and Ro is the perfect travel companion
At this time the parents gang up and tell Hugo and Lyla they need to get married
They had been together for about 21 years and engaged for 9 years, but just like with their engagement they wait
They decide to have one last baby, and have Odysseus “Odie” Christopher
He’s the perfect blend of them, in both the good and the bad, but he is the definite baby of them all
He is the youngest great-grandchild in the whole Weasley family
Hugo and Lyla finally get married when their children ask them why they’re not married
Odie is seven at the time and Evan is eighteen, Hector is fifteen and Ro is ten
They have two ceremonies, the first is the six of them jumping on a ferry and Hugo and Lyla get married in the open water (like from Jim and Pam’s wedding in The Office)
The second is a big over the top ceremony that they let Daphne plan because they couldn’t be bothered
They arrive at their second ceremony wet and salt crusted in their hair, but it doesn’t matter
Blaise walks Lyla down the aisle and gives her away, and Hugo and Lyla promise themselves to each other again
Lyla never changes her name, she will always be Lyla Zabini and their kids last name is Weasley-Zabini
They also never move out of their three bedroom apartment

I've been forgetting about Tumblr lately, sorry! A lot has been going on in our little lives out here.
About a month ago, we lost our sweet Hermes due to a large bladder stone that was unable to be removed surgically. We were absolutely heartbroken, he was a part of our family and so loved.
His buddy Frankie was also so confused, sad and lonely after his passing. They had been together since birth. We knew that even though we weren't ready for new piggies, Frankie needed some company. We adopted these two cuties in the first 2 photos. Odie and Sunny. They had been abandoned and were living in a shelter for months. That's Frankie is in the last photo. Our little family got smaller and then bigger within a week and our hearts are full knowing we rescued those two babies. Fun fact: we were told that Odie and Sunny were both boys. Turns out that Odie, now Odette, is a lady and possibly pregnant. So yes, it's been a bit crazy around here. All of this has been going on while Jesse and I started new jobs/ positions at work. Life is a weird blessing or whatever you want to call it!
