May I just rant, that yes, I'm well aware that all my kins are PoS, fully aware. All of them are evil, and I don't condone their actions in the slightest- but I wish I could go into any of my sources fandoms and not be bombarded with pictures of my kin(s) being beaten and/or killed (and sometimes while my S/O watches in horror) while the comments are filled with people saying this should happen or they want torture me too. I love my kintypes to death but I wish there was a way to filter out all of that so I can scroll in peace and not have my day ruined

The day a "fan" sent me a detailed plan to break into Swan Tower and do... Things to me as I slept. That's when I stopped opening fan mail. And after Night Swan died, I didn't perform publicly for over a year. I got good at running from crowds. And it was after I'd dropped the "Jack Rose" act. People were more than shocked when I told someone to "STOP FUCKING TOUCHING ME". But in my defense, I was sick of strangers trying to touch me.

Never mind the fact that everything about "Jack Rose" was designed to be a honeypot for possession victims. My mother's whole plan was to make me appealing and placid, someone supposedly "incapable" of causing harm. Nothing but a "brainless sex icon" to lure in victims.

So sure, I love my fans. But people change. I changed. And half of my fans went "I like the old Jack better".

I've seen enough asks on here about the topic, so I just want to say:

If you identify as a system, GO GET THERAPY. Being a system is not a "normal" human thing and it definitely means you need fucking therapy. You can't just call yourself a system and call it a day. You cant just say you're KINNING, either, because the kin community goes back decades and it is bigger than some teenager on tumblr picking up kins from your mutual's posts. My honest, genuine opinion is that anyone with 100+ kinds or alters IS NOT ACTUALLY A SYSTEM. You are just young and impressionable and the world is in shambles right now and theres a sense of comfort in being someone else. Everyone wants to know who they really are and you will NOT figure it out until you're in your 40s. If it brings you comfort, fine. But go get therapy so they can tell you how to ACTUALLY cope with the real world instead of using "escapism." Escapism is not the answer to your problems and you still have to deal with them.

I say this as a person who felt inhuman since before I was 10yo. I even told my dad about it back then. And I've been watching the way the "community" has changed over time. You are not a polyfragmented system if you have 100+ kins, you are just trying to find an identity that fits you. Kinning nowadays is a good FIRST STEP. But I cannot stress enough that CPTSD, autism, and ADHD mix together to cause dissociative episodes. Maybe you should all look into it and find peace with yourselves before adding a new kintype to your list

All of this being said, yeah I do think having a bunch of kintypes is fine. It's okay for one alter to kin a handful of different people and shift between them. But you do not need individual listings for each separate one. You do not need to make a new proxy with pluralkit. I see people confessing to only seeing a character ONCE and kinning them. It doesn't work like that. Take some time to think about it. Its IMPORTANT to figure out if these similar kins are actually just the one person instead of assuming they're someone new. If you actually had 100+ kins (that you treat like individual alters) you would not be functional

Sometimes you remember you've been very quietly kinsidering Dirk Strider for several years and just havent bothered to get back into re-reading homestuck (Or even starting the epilogue woof) to really deal with it because someone puts the most gender art piece of him on your feed and it lived rent free in your head for several days and when u ask ur friends if you should make your icon Dirk or [different character] they all yell Dirk and-

Don't think I'll officially ever put him on the kinlist, bc again, way too lazy to actually read homestuck again- but boy I dont mind stealing his face, stop being so Gender boy. (then again basically all of my hs kins have been through mostly fanon content rather than actual source material so... Hm. I'll have to think abt it bc I still dont see Dirk on my feed all that often so my grasp on his character is much less clear than say, fanon eridan, my main homestuck kin. And I havent rly looked into hs content purposefully since friendsim (not even pesterquest 😭))

Anyway, just thought the icon thing was a bit funny. I also proceeded to be haunted by Dirk and Eridan both being Princes in god tier for a bit. That was fun. Teenage hyperfixations when they come back to haunt you a decade later /silly
