Since we've got all our entries in, I'd like to talk about how the next part (the actual competition itself) is going to go, and also touch on propaganda and the rules again. :)

As of right now, I will be closing the response editing on the google forms. So, if you need to update the photo or the description for your OC, the only way to do so is by DMing me. Please don't hesitate to come talk to me if you need anything, I'm happy to help!

Later today, I will be posting the brackets so you can see who everyone is up against. Then on Monday I will post the actual actual polls themselves and y'all can go vote for whoever you'd like to move on to the next round.

Starting Monday, you can all post propaganda and I'll reblog them here for you. Now what is propaganda you may ask? In short, propaganda is a way to help encourage others to vote for the oc(s) you want to win. Whether it be by creating art, writing a fic, infodumping about them, telling others why they should vote for that character; really anything goes as long as it's within the rules!! You can make propaganda for any character you'd like, even if it's not yours, even if you're not competing, propaganda is a way to help the character you want to win!

You can put propaganda in the reblogs of the designated polls or you can make a separate post for it. Either way, just make sure to @ this blog in any and all propaganda so I can reblog it!! I'm reblogging all propaganda I'm tagged in here!

Also you can self reblog anything you've previously made before this for your OC and you can @ me too if you'd like. I'd count it as propaganda.

Rules on propaganda and really just the entire comp overall:

No NSFW

No proships (adult x minor, incest, etc.)

If your propaganda has anything triggering (eyestrain, blood, etc. be sure to tag it as so)

Do not hate on other creators & ocs

While I said you can make propaganda for any character, if the creator says not to make propaganda for them, then don't. Respect their wishes and listen to them.

Failure to follow the rules will result in you getting blocked and if you are one of the competitors, you will get disqualified from the competition.

Ohhhh my favorite is hard… which is why I’m gonna talk about one from a fandom I’m sure you know!

Here is a Rainworld Iterator OC originally created from an inside joke between me and my friend (shout-out to @sneakiestbeakiest for her name) , Two Spheres Ascendant!

-Favorite Thing about them

I really like their relationship to the ancients and how it feeds back into her personality. They’re part of 5 iterators themed after the base urges, and being Karma 2 has given them a very interesting place. She was made to study genetics and conduct breeding programs which is actually very important work, but of course being the Karma 2 iterator means she was generally mocked and laughed at as far as iterators go. This means she’s rather anxious and embarrassed about how she’s perceived, and is nervous about opening up to others. It’s also given them a dislike of their puppet’s appearance and clothes, maybe even their puppet in general

-Least Favorite Thing about them

Honestly, I’m not confident in their design. I feel like it doesn’t fit her personality even if it’s the kind of thing I imagine the ancients would’ve dressed her in. I also think her face doesn’t quite fit her personality and I was thinking maybe her cloak should be closer to a traditional iterator cloak

I generally don’t really do much rainworld shipping… but between the taboo iterators her and the Karma 5 iterator, Fearing Cliffsides probably get along the best! Though she’s not very open with anyone

Beyblade OC Week Rules and FAQ

This post will describe what exactly Beyblade OC Week is, as well as establish a few rules so that everyone can enjoy this event better :)

What is Bey OC Week?

Bey OC Week is a two-week online event taking place from July 10 and 23, dedicated to celebrating all the wonderful Beyblade OCs out there. All forms of media are accepted for this event as long as Tumblr supports it, so art, stories, edits, memes, music, and videos are all allowed.

Participating in this event is very simple. All you need to do is make content of your Beyblade OC, and tag it with either/both #beyocweek and #beyocweek2023 . You may also tag the Bey OC Week account in case we miss the post. While this event will mainly take place on Tumblr, any creator who would like to share their creations to other social media platforms is welcome to.

Although both moderators (@masterofdemise and @lady-lazagna) are mainly into Metal Fight Beyblade, fans of all the other Beyblade generations are welcome to participate as well. Whether you are a Bakuten Shoot, Burst, X, or Beywheelz/Beyraiderz fan, you are allowed to take part and we will still reblog your work!

Let’s get into some rules.

Do I have to follow the provided prompts?

Technically no. They are there to give general ideas and inspirations, but they are not set rules that you have to follow. The main idea is to celebrate Beyblade OCs, so if you have an idea that you want to pursue that doesn’t go along with the prompt of that day, you can still tag your work under Beyblade OC Week.

I might be busy and not have enough time to participate during the two weeks, can I still participate outside of the official time period?

Absolutely! We know this event is taking place in the summer so while many will be free to do the prompts, there will also be many who will be too busy. While the official event takes place from the specific week of the year, you are welcome to treat the prompt list like any other art challenge list. We will continue to reblog Beyblade OC Week creations up until the last day of year, so feel free to participate later in the year if that fits your schedule better.

Can I still make content of the canon characters?

Canon characters are allowed as long as there is the presence of at least one original character present. After all, this is an event to appreciate the original characters of all the different Bey generations.

Are crossovers with non-Bey media allowed?

Of course, much like the canon characters, just as long as your Bey OC is featured.

Can I draw other people’s OCs?

You are 100% allowed to, especially since there is overlap with this event and Artfight. The only rule is that if you do draw another person’s character, you must abide by whatever character permissions/rules the creator established for their OC. Any OC content that is made to harass/slander/bully the creator will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban/block. This event is supposed to be fun, so any form of harassment against another person or their creations is not permitted.

Is NSFW, sexual or gore content allowed for this event?

Beyblade is toy kids media, meaning there are most likely plenty of minors within the fandom. To keep this event safe for work and a safe space for more people to participate, we will not be allowing NSFW or any overly suggestive/sexual works. Mild gore is permitted, but it must be hidden with either the read more feature or the community label. While neither of us can really stop people from making NSFW content for their OCs, we would suggest either not posting it, or hiding it with the earlier mentioned Tumblr functions as to respect other peoples boundaries since not everyone will want to see this sort of content in the tags. Let’s be mindful of all the different members of the fandom.

Failure to properly hide/tag NSFW or gore content will result in the moderators not reblogging your works for the rest of the event if you refuse to comply with this rule and do not fix the post after being asked to by moderators. If this rule is broken several times, you will be banned and blocked by the account. The moderators have the right to block your account if you engage in inappropriate behavior outside of the event.

How come my post hasn’t been reblogged?

Although both moderators will be checking the tag, we will inevitably miss a few due to Tumblr not always showing posts. If we haven’t reblogged your post in around 24-48 hours, please feel free to DM or tag the blog so we can see your post easier. We would like to be able to help share your wonderful OCs with everyone. The only other reason we might not reblog a work is if it breaks any of the rules established (see above for rules on NSFW/Gore and any derogatory works of other people’s OCs).

What other rules should we keep in mind for this event?

Any form of stealing/reposting/re-editing of art/writing/music/use of AI without the permission of the original creator or claiming their work as your own is forbidden. If you are caught doing any of the following and refuse to delete the offending work, you will be banned from participating from this event. Since Bey OC Week is an arts centric event open to many different art forms, we want to make sure everyone is being respectful of people’s original works since original characters can mean a lot to their owners. Just in general, this sort of behavior is not tolerated even in regular art communities so do not think about taking someone’s handwork and claiming it as your own.

As mentioned before, the moderators have the right to block your account if you engage in inappropriate behavior outside of the event.

It’s okay to post after the event is over, but since the prompt list is out early, can we post before the official start date?

Preferably not, just so the post doesn’t end up getting buried and so we can have more fun during the official event time. Feel free to start making your content as soon as the prompt list is out, but wait until the actual start date to begin posting.

any tips for a small wc blog who wants to share their redux/oc ideas with the wider community, but also has 0 drawing skills? it feels like in order to get anywhere as a wc blog you have to be able to draw cats, but I'm only decent at stick figures

I will try to give som advice, to no promises it will be any good!

If you want to draw followers in with art/designs but you dont think ur art skills are good enough, I would suggest using bases and coloring them urself with how u see the characters! There are lots of great free bases out there! I have made some as well, they are linked in my pinned post!

Tags!!! Tag all your posts with things like #warriors #warrior cats #warriors au and LOTS more!! Also put the more important tags first, the first few tags are the ones the Tumblr algorithm looks at! Tags also mean that tumblr will suggest your blog to people who follow blogs that use similar tags!

this ones a complete guess BUT! similar to Tags.... reblog other popular Warriors creators stuff, especially from blogs who are also making aus! Tumblr suggests blogs that have similar content to blogs ppl already follow so I think that having content reblogged from blogs ppl already follow may give your blog have more of a chance at being suggested! Also ur helping out fellow blogs while ur at it!

have a pinned post with a simple summary of what your about and what your au is about! this tells ppl exactly what they are getting into and they will hopefully be more likely to follow! also in your pinned post you should have a link to a master post of all ur main important au content! this helps ppl know what's going on in the au!

Submission Guidelines

1) Any type of content is welcomed. This includes fanfic, fanart, video edits, gifs, photo manips, crafts, etc. If Rexsoka inspires you to make it, we’d love to see it!

2) All content ratings are allowed. Please make sure to appropriately tag the content rating of your fic. (G = general audience, T = teen and up audiences, M = mature audiences, E = explicit content only suitable for adults)

3) Submissions are always open. Submissions for a specific prompt are open as soon as that prompt is posted and never close. We’ll accept content for any prompts even after that month has ended. The more Rexsoka content, the better!

4) Use appropriate tags in your fics. In addition to content ratings and trigger warnings, please tag tropes that may not be of interest to all readers. This includes topics like cheating, dub-con, pregnancy, OCs as major characters, crossovers with other fandoms, etc.

6) No clonecest. Clonecest refers to the romantic ships between two clones. Please do not submit any content that includes or implies these relationships, even in the background.

8) No underage Rexsoka, unless it’s platonic. This means no content where Rex is an adult and he is sexually attracted to Ahsoka when she is a minor. Unless their ages are adjusted, no explicit romantic content before season 7. Pre-relationship fluff and Ahsoka having a baby crush are acceptable. Please Note: If a submission does not meet this criteria, the mods may choose not to post it on the blog and may ask the creator to remove any mention of Rexsoka Monthly from it.

What will you find on this blog?

First and foremost, types of content:

I will mostly post art, oftentimes the finished products but I might end up posting sneak peeks as well. I also, from time-to-time, post writing blurbs, which often are created using a prompt and not related to any of my written works. I also might post a meme or two, or a few pictures I took. I also tend to reblog some things, if they're important or if I absolutely love and adore that post.

Second of all, the contents of my content (if that makes any sense?):

Most of what I draw is going to be Undertale-related. You're especially going to see a lot of skeletons on here, since I draw those the most.

You'll also see a lot of original characters (OCs) here.

I sometimes draw humans, but not nearly as often as skeletons.

On occasion I'll draw a furry or some object heads, but it depends.

Collabs, commissions, and other art stuff?

Collaboration pieces: I am alright with doing collabs! But ask me first

Commissions: Usually they're open, but at the time of me making this post they're closed due to mental stuff and being swamped with art work <3

Character Adopts: I plan on setting some up fairly soon (if I can manage) as of the time I'm writing this. Basically I'll post a version with a watermark on it, and if someone DMs and pays me they will be sent a version without the watermark and they will have the rights to that character. (Note that I use Venmo for payment)

Fanart: I'm a-okay with fanart of my characters, but unless I personally know you, please ask first, I'll most likely say yes! (Keep it clean though.)

Request Drawings: I'm fine with drawing requests (via ask box) but don't expect anything fancy or top tier... It'll most likely end up as a sketch (whether colored or not.)

A couple of blog considerations:

All Safe for Work (SFW) Hero content is acceptable here including art, fanfiction, headcanons, and character analysis posts. The DA Poly Website has been fully updated for 2023, and boy were there a lot of updates to be made. Please read through the changes below the cut and let us know if you have any questions. Also don't forget:

After a lot of thought and consideration, we've decided to shut down the exchange twitter. We're sorry for those of you who use that as your main source of news, but the platform has become openly hostile to small projects and creators and it's going to be impossible for us to post there and ensure you actually see our updates. Instead, you can follow our announcements in the following ways:

Our Website We have added a blog to our website which will have an archive of all of our posts from today onward. You can follow the blog in your RSS reader of choice! (Have no idea what RSS is? I highly recommend the in depth blog RSS for Post-Twitter News and Web Monitoring, but you can also find a more bite-sized intro on mod enigmalea's website here.)

Tumblr Our tumblr will continue to host announcements and information about the exchange and will continue to host Poly Sharing (the new name for the former DA Polyshipping Day/Week).

Rules Updates

The rules have been updated to clarify that previously posted works cannot be added to the collection. An exception to this might be a transformational work of a work already in the collection (for example, if someone makes a podfic for a fic in the collection and doesn’t add it to the collection initially, it could be added later.)

The rules were also clarified to disallow works which are entirely AI generated. Our Exchange Info gives a more detailed explanation of what we mean.

Nominations

There have been no changes to nominations.

Sign-Ups

Sign-Ups require a minimum of 3 ships for requests and offers instead of one. We've received sign-ups with very limited requests and offers lately which makes producing a match very difficult.

Sign-Ups now allow for up a maximum of 60 ships requested and an unlimited number of ships offered. Please see Tutorials - How to Sign-Up for more details.

Your requests cannot consist of entirely ships which use a DNW to limit your creator to creating for only your OC. For at least one of the three ships you request you should be open to receiving any OC (generic, one created specifically for your gift, or your gifter's OC) or should be a ship which has no original characters. Creating for other people's OCs is complex and is not something that everyone is able or willing to tackle within the context of an exchange, so participants should be willing to be flexible for at least one request.

If you are requesting art of your OC we ask that you have more than one reference for both face and body. Otherwise, artists may have a difficult time filling your request.

What is Barduil Month?

Barduil month is a month-long celebration of the relationship between Bard the Bowman and Thranduil Oropherion from JRR Tolkien and Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit! This will be our second year running this event, originally inspired by the 30 Days of Barduil promptlist from several years back.

When is Barduil Month?

Barduil Month will take place between 1 and 30 April 2024.

How do I participate?

Simply create a fanwork of any kind for Barduil, add it to our AO3 collection, tag us here on Tumblr! This can include art, fic, gifs, edits, playlists, cosplay, crafts - you name it! This year we are running four themed weeks, each with a set of prompts to spark creativity, but you are welcome to submit any fanwork with Barduil as a focus. Be sure to use the tag #barduilmonth2024, and feel free to @ our blog, @bi-widower-dads so we can see it and add it to our queue for reblogging.

Do I have to participate every day/week?

Nope! Only participate as much as you are comfortable with. If that means one prompt, some or all of them, any and all participation is very welcome, as are late submissions!

Can I combine prompts?

Absolutely! You can create one work per prompt, one work that hits several prompts, one work that hits all of them...it’s up to you!

What if I don’t like the prompts?

While we’ve provided a set of prompts for each week, these are more guidelines than strict rules! If something else inspires you to create fanwork for Barduil, we still would be thrilled to see it!

Can my fanworks feature other ships?

Barduil should be the focus of your work, but if other ships make an appearance, that's absolutely fine.

Can my fanworks feature OCs?

As with ships, the focus of the work should be Barduil! However, the presence of OCs is perfectly acceptable.

Do my fanworks have to be canon-compliant?

Nope! Canon-'verse or any kind of canon divergence, alternate universe, or other change of setting are all very welcome.

Can I contribute a work in progress (WIP)?

Absolutely! Just use the tag #barduilmonth2024 or tag @bi-widower-dads, and/or post to the AO3 collection.

What if I don’t finish my fanwork in time for the event?

You can submit it as a WIP before the event ends, or else you can continue to use the tags after April 30th! However, the mods may be slower at reblogging once April is over. The AO3 collection will also remain open after the end of April.
