I have a question, you don’t have to answer this question, but I went through most of your blog and I noticed you shipped Zosan (I do too!!!!) The question is, what other One piece ships do you ship? I’m not much of a multi-shipper but I’m not against any ship (unless it’s weird).

Ohh this is an interesting ask. I haven't had a chance to talk about my favorite One Piece ships other than Zosan so far, so might as well do it here!

When it comes to multiships, I'm an AllSan shipper in the sense that I love the concept where everyone is at least a bit in love with Sanji — but my main favorite AllSan ships are Lusan, Acesan, Pedrosan, and sometimes Katasan if I'm in the mood. They're mostly a way for me to enjoy different Sanji dynamics with different characters, so they're mostly very Sanji-centric.

Lawlu/Lulaw is probably the closest thing I have as my second favorite ship in OP. Gotta love the good ol' sunshine & grumpy dynamic. I love the idea of them being able to bring out each other's softer side, like how the perpetually frowning Law would break into a soft smile whenever Luffy is around, or the hyperactive Luffy slowing down just a tiniest bit so he can listen more attentively when Law is talking to him. (this reminds me that I need to draw them more often rip)

A pairing I wouldn't expect to find so endearing is Zeff/Sora. The idea of the grumpy foul-mouthed Zeff being all soft and mushy towards Sora fucking melts me, especially in AU settings where Sora is divorced and/or taking care of her children alone. They're literally what Sanji's (and his siblings') parents would be like if they actually had a decent childhood.

Frobin is a classic. They're that type of couple who has the freakiest and most insane kinks in bed while also having the healthiest relationship you've ever seen. Dofuwani is more of a "terrible people in love" ship and I love their "enemies to lovers to exes to whatever they are now" energy. I also enjoy Shanks/Mihawk and Shanks/Buggy for the divorced parents vibe (sorry Shanks). And also whatever the hell is going on with Buggy/Mihawk/Crocodile right now. It's less "i ship them romantically" and more "i want to see what kind of fuckery they're getting into". A fucked-up goth-mafia-circus old men polycule... Oda is cooking something here

That's what I can remember on top of my head right now. There are other ships out there that I don't necessarily ship romantically, just that I find them interesting or because I want to see them fuck nasty lol. OP is a great fandom to find all sorts of ship dynamics really, since you got a large number of characters, equally large number of fans, and 20+ years worth of fanworks all mixed together haha.

SO FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU. it's amazing to get this ask actually because just this morning I was drafting a post about the ALNST VAs and how good they are! They're all so talented, and they fit their roles perfectly. I truly couldn't imagine anyone else playing their roles!

Russian Roulette (Red Velvet) by Rubyeye (Mizi's VA)!

I'm gonna be honest, I'm a very simple person. Russian Roulette is just a very cute song! And I think it suits Mizi so well, all bright, bubbly and candy sweet (at least in rhythm)!

I love hearing Rubyeye's voice no matter where it is honestly, she's rather versatile! In ALIEN STAGE, Mizi often sings slower ballads (My Clematis), or in her lower, more mature voice (Ruler of My Heart). She sounds absolutely gorgeous of course, but Rubyeye's voice in more energetic songs is such a joy to hear as well!

My second favorite Rubyeye cover is actually the Mizi version of UTTE! Can you tell that I love hearing Rubyeye's more energetic covers. Can you tell yet. I know it's very unpopular, but I love Mizi UTTE so much. The way that she sings is so incredibly charming to me, she has a lot of spunk in this cover! I love how she sang "ain't nobody but!" I honestly love that lyric more in Mizi's version than I do in the original! It holds a lot of character which I adore.

Catch You Catch Me (Cardcaptor Sakura OP) by C!nah (Sua's VA)!

Once again, I am a simple person. I can't resist a cute and sweet cover.

C!nah's light and angelic voice fits so well into this song! It sounds absolutely lovely. Plus I already loved the song beforehand, so I might be a bit biased lol

C!nah's voice in general is so unique. It has such an clear and airy quality to it! They picked such a perfect voice for Sua.

My second favorite C!nah cover is Sua's version of ROMH! I adore how Sua sings like a whisper. Her voice brings such a haunting feel to the song.

LILAC (IU) City Pop Cover by 6FU;

Being honest, my favorite 6FU; song is actually Drunk and Party.

But if we're talking covers, this one might just be my favorite due to how shocked I was upon listening to it.

Hyuna has a very energetic and rough voice, with such a strong and unique tone. I was expecting it when clicking on this cover, which was why I was pleasantly surprised to hear a much smoother, calmer voice.

And it's beautiful! I haven't listened to much from 6FU; yet, so I might find some new favorites once I do. For now, I'll keep listening to this cover over and over again.

OKAY I know this already an Alien Stage song. I don't know if it counts but I'm putting here anyway because GOD.

PBH's wonderfully rich and deep voice. What a blessing.

I love how soft he sounds in the beginning of most of his covers, slowly growing in intensity until he's fully expressing the song.

The ranges he uses in this cover are so nice to listen to. I love the switching between his deeper lower voice and his soft higher voice.

Thinking about Ivan's voice in CURE and how it's probably going to sound more anguished and desperate than this makes me sick btw.

IT'S SOOO FUCKING GOOD. SERIOUSLY.

Of all the ALNST VA's I've probably listened to AKUGETSU the most (sorry. Till bias) and this song is still probably one of my absolute favorites from him.

JUST LISTEN TO IT. The guitar in the intro. The quieter vocals in the first verse that build up to a BURST of sound in the chorus. The way he enunciates everything is perfect.

AKUGETSU is such a seasoned singer. He really knows how to work his voice and knock a song out of the park. It's genuinely addicting.

This song is such a fucking banger. Till would sing this. GOD IM SO OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG.

Another absolute banger from AKUGETSU is his cover of I'm Invincible (Ado)! I love the way his voice moves, going high and low in the same line. He's such a dynamic singer.

I adore how AKUGETSU brings an energetic rock vibe to every song he sings. His voice is such a standout.

A hint of color dusted Neuvillette's cheeks as he attempted to hide his smile behind his fingers. “You flatter me endlessly...” he murmured, his gaze fixed on you with adoration.

See I KNEW Lin Manuel Miranda was awesome as Hermes! He IS Hermes! Hermes IS him! I could go on but really, I’m just so happy we got to see him! I’ve been waiting for that since the casting was announced!

On to the episode now…

Loved Grover! He figured out about as much about the lightning thief as I expected. He’s so smart! Little Grover, he’s so precious! We must protect him at all cost! Also he got to gush about the animals, gods Grover is so adorable! And the there was the blessing of the wild, they’ll be fine. What about the humans? Well, the animals will be fine!

Kinda disappointed that we didn’t see Percy talk to a zebra. I didn’t even see a zebra, which was… come on! The episode is called “We take a zebra to Las Vegas” and there isn’t even a zebra? I was looking forward to see Percy realize he can talk to equines…😫

The Lotus Casino was well executed. Lotus flowers are pumped into the air. That’s not explicitly stated in the books but it could very well be the case in the books as well. And we also got the myth linked to the place. That was never clear in the books, we just got that it was a place where time moves differently. And how Grover forgot more than Percy and Annabeth because it’s easy to forget what’s important when you’re alone. That’s just *chef’s kiss*.

I loved Hermes as well. Like, I get the feeling he actually wants to help but he’s afraid it would make things worse. He also really highlights that even if the gods want to be with their kids, their mere presence could lead to ugly consequences. Also, I wasn’t surprised at all when it turned out Hermes knew they took his keys. Like for real, Annabeth? Did you honestly think you had any chance of pickpocket the God of Pickpocketing? That’s your fatal flaw talking. Hermes wanted them to take the keys. That’s quite a huge deal with Hermes, isn’t it? He is the god of travelers, thieves and anyone who uses the road. To quote a line of Luke’s in the books; “Hermes isn’t picky about who he sponsors.” (The Lightning Thief, ch. 7, My dinner goes up in smoke, page 52) He helps people. But since he isn’t supposed to help them, he has to do it under the table, aka slipping them his keys like: “Ops!? You stole my keys? Oh, well, nothing I can do to stop you then…” *shrug*

Also kinda sweet that he tried to reassure Percy that even though his father can’t really be there he still loves and cares for him. They’re all just doing the best they can…

And Santa Monica, I can’t even imagine how Percy must’ve felt in that moment when the nerid told him that his father had left because they ran out of time. He must’ve felt like he let his dad down this time, after Poseidon saved his life. That poor baby! I just want to give him a hug😭 Of course he can’t go back to camp now. He has to set things right!

And this time around he has four pearls? That will be interesting to see next week…

So I feel like I should prep this by saying before I figured out about LMK I was super into OPS's jttw series. So I made Zhao with the context of the book, and the book doesn't sugar coat things so Zhao's backstory is a bit uhhh, mature? There's no nsfw stuff but there is a lot, lot, loottt of angst (even though the backstory is kinda "simple"), so forgive me :'(

I did change up her backstory a bit for the LMK version because it is a kids show and I don't feel like the creators would stick with the dark tone of the original. Whenever I write OCs for sertant shows I try to write it with the context of "How would the creator tackle this if my oc was a Canon character?" Yk? You don't write a depressed, emo, Greek hero for a light hearted magical girl show.

So ye, this first segment will be her JTTW backstory sum-up and I'll note what is changed in the LMK version at the end👍

JTTW/original backstory(this is long, read at your own risk)-

-Zhao wasn't raised in the best household.. Not only was her father a total womanizer with 3 wives (at the time of her birth, by now he has 7) and who knows how many mistresses, but her elder family member were pretty verbally abusive. I mentioned before but Xiaotian and Biao-Qi (Zhao's father and grandfather) wanted Zhao to be born as a male because in their clan its essential for the first born of every generation to be a boy, so when they found out about Zhao being a girl they were really salty and thought of her as "The disgrace" of the family. (hence why Zhaoyan is a name generally given to Chinese boys, which yea Xiaotian is the type of douche-bag to chose the name of the child at the start of his marriage without the mothers approval)

-Zhao was the one basically raising her younger siblings because her parents couldn't be bothered to, Pangfua (Zhao's mom) couldn't even bare to look at Xiaotian's face so the last thing she cared for was some random children of him and his mistresses, and Xiaotian's other wifes didn't really care for the children either. However, Zhao ADORED her siblings because she was always good with little kids. But as time went on and on, with so many children coming in to the household she started getting tired, but what could she do? At the time she was barely a teenage girl, if she complained to her father she could legitimately be at risk to lose her head. Like I said, Xiaotian couldn't care less about Zhao, he doesn't give a damn if she likes taking care of her siblings or not.

-Eventually Zhao grew too tired of her family, and decided to leave. This might seem selfish but holy frick, the girlie felt like a maid, and it's not like she doesn't care for her family, it's that they couldn't care less about her. All of her siblings were old enough to take care of each other and the other family members treated them well, why shouldn't she be able to "go live her own life"?

- The first place she went was to a temple dedicated to the Chinese tiger spirit- Hu Ye. The reason she went to him specifically was because he was sort of the protector/symbol of Zhao's family (for context think about how Apollo was the protector of the Trojans in the Iliad), she prayed to him all night, she asked humbly to become a Jade Maiden that serves Guan Yin (because that was probably the best option. Also just so you have context- Hu Ye blessed the girls in Zhao's family with a healing gift. So basically they could heal any illness, wound, missing limb etc...). But to her surprise Hu Ye saw what she did as "unforgiving". You shouldn't leave your family who loves you so much, not cool >:( (cut him some slack tho, whenever to family would worship him they would make them self's seem like the most perfect people ever). And so in short he gave her flaming orange hair so she never forgets that she is a Tiger Maiden (bcz orange=tigers and he just be petty like that bro).

-Eventually she went to the woods but she was found by Lánhūa- a forest spirit. Lánhūa took pity on her and decided to take her in as one of her nymphs. Because Zhao had the healing gift she was a great addition to the palace Lánhūa lived in, Zhao was always the one making sure everyone was healthy and the worst someone suffered was a common cold, and even those wouldn't last long.

-However one day while she was collecting fruits for the palace she stumbled upon a strange noise near a mountain, she went to check what it was and wouldn't you have guessed its good ol' Sun Wukong. The pair fairly quickly became friends, Zhao would often tell him stories and keep him company and Sun (who was under that damn mountain for 346 years by the time he and Zhao met) would listen and tell her his life stories.

-At the early stages of the jttw Monkey actually did try and convince Zhao to come with him and the other pilgrims, she would be the one taking care of Tripitaka and making sure he stays healthy. Zhao refused at first but after some time she agreed. Her and Tripitaka were very close because they were both kinda the "sane ones" of the group and Zhao took her position very seriously. Sanzang eventually noticed that this was a bit weird considering how layed back the other pilgrims were, so he confronted her and Zhao opened up to him. And that's how I'd show her backstory in the book.

So in short: Girl leaves abusive family and prays to god, god makes her a ginger and she gets adopted by a hot forest spirit. A monkey befriends her and convinces her to give free health care to his friend **emotional**

Holy crap that took so long to write/ Notes on how her backstory would probably be changed in the lmk version:

In the lmk version I think they'd tone down how bad her family was just a bit, again it is a kids show. I think the start would generally be the same but that Hu Ye would grant her wish. But instead of a disciple for Guan Yin I think they'd change it into a Peach Maiden, so that she could meet the brotherhood and befriend Wukong like she did in the original backstory. They'd probably remove Lánhūa as well (because she is a very minor character in Zhao's backstory). So yea in short of what I think the creators of LMK would do with her character: -Hu Ye grants her wish of becoming a Peach Maiden. -Orange would be her natural hair color(bcz tigers woo). -I honestly think they'd give her a sort-of survivor's guilt because of the whole "leaving your family" thing instead of "Ama give u tiger hair so you never forget how you left your family >:(" -She meets the brotherhood through their lil' rebellion -Healing powers would probably be toned down a bit so there's still some risk

I managed to get Specter Alter off of a free pull, and I was already trying to roll for her, so I'm feeling pretty blessed. Already having her normal form, I will eventually learn the secrets of pure shark success, As a whole, she's a fun character, and going straight from reading Under Tides to prep for it, into the current event, has been a fun time.

NICE yeah she's a really fun character. Not gonna lie, I was A Bit Apprehensive, A Bit Concerned about her taking center stage because HG has, let's put it kindly, mishandled Specter in the past. I was a Tad Nervous about them dropping the bucket, but it's one of those shituations in which I'm plenty glad to have been wrong, to me, at least, they hit a homerun with Specter in SN. Ladylike Violence Shitter that is nonetheless pretty nurturing and aware of others and their needs.

I love the similarities and contrasts she has with Gladiia, as well as their dynamic. Laurentina herself seems to have taken these lessons to heart, and in a way, it was her shield when confronting Amaia: Her reaction to being told "why, yes, your flowing blood is that of a Seaborn" was "didn't ask lolololol I'm still me and I still love fighting and making beautiful statues, now die one thousand deaths", unperturbed queen, staying in her lane queen, she literally can't do anything about it? Whatever, focus on what you can do and affect instead!

And also, for all the teasing she inflicts upon Skadi, she really is thankful to her. You can be a Violence Stacy AND a loving person, as Laurentina well proves. Her dynamic with Irene is also really refreshing, how many times can one get away with calling what is technically a Super Cop "my little adorable fragile bird, fruit of elegance and effort"? Infinite times if you're hot enough, apparently. Irene under CONSTANT attack by the most dangerous force in the oceans throughout the entire event, and the Seaborn also were there, I guess.

Chapter 8 - Surprise!

The week went by slowly, as you expected, but Joe kept his promise of calling every night. You would send him selfies periodically to keep him missing you, to which he would always respond with a heart-eyes or a kiss emoji, and the occasional video message with a quick “beautiful, love” and a smile so you could miss him, too. By Friday, you were really beginning to feel the effects of being away from him, especially when photo ops from Fan Expo Dallas started surfacing on social media. He looked like an angel in his white t-shirt and jeans with the yellow backdrop, his brown curls laying freely over his head in all directions. Those curls. Running your hands through them would have been very nice right about then. Only a few more days.

Your heart was swelling from seeing all the Friday convention photos. You decided to make use of them. You began texting Joe. The convention had ended for the night, so you were hoping he was free to answer.

Joe, you’re making being away from you really difficult for me right now.

Oh? Why is that, love?

You sent him a photo op photo of himself from earlier that day.

Just then, your phone started ringing, Joe’s name showing up on the screen, but it was different. A grin grew on your face as you realized it was a FaceTime call instead of just a phone call. You have never swiped to answer so quickly.

“Hello, love.”

“Hi, Joe,” you said, cheeks burning as you saw he was in his white t-shirt, and he still had his readers on.

“You liked my outfit so much, I thought it might make you feel better to let you actually see it.”

You smiled at him as he stretched his arm out to show a full-body view to the camera.

“You definitely know what you’re doing, Quinn,” you said, smirking. He chuckled in response.

“Did it work? Do you feel better?”

“Yes, thank you,” you giggled. “It’s so good to see your face. Your outfit was just a bonus.”

“Aw, bless you, love.”

“Oh, I’m blessed, alright,” you chuckled at him with a wink. His lightly freckled cheeks slowly faded to red and he let a close-lipped smile sneak onto his face.

“Someone is feisty today.”

“I’m feisty every day. You sure you can handle it?” you smirk at him.

“I’m sure going to try.” His smile grew into a wide one. “You’re different today. You were so timid when we first met.”

“Well, what can I say? You’re pulling me out of my shell.”

“Well, good. I like it,” he snickers, winking.

The two of you continued your normal nightly phone call for a little while longer, until you had to go to work. 3 days. You could make it 3 days. Hopefully.

When Monday evening rolled around, you could hardly sit still in the car as you were driving. You had decided to surprise Joe by picking him up at the Pittsburgh airport and spending the night exploring the city before going back home. He had no idea you were going to be waiting for him at the terminal when he landed. You pulled into the airport parking lot and made your way inside, shaking from a combination of nerves and adrenaline. You were so excited to see him after a week, but you were nervous because you hadn’t touched him in a week. Would your knees go weak? Would you faint? All kinds of questions wandered through your mind as you walked. He was landing at 5:15 and you got there extra early to be careful not to miss him.

You were waiting outside the terminal, twiddling your thumbs anxiously. He was due to land in 5 minutes, the slowest 5 minutes of your life. You looked at the time on your phone about 20 too many times. After what felt like hours, the flight tracker app you were using said that Joe’s flight from Dallas to Pittsburgh had landed. You stood up, your eyes not leaving the terminal. Eventually you saw a head of brown curls covered by a hat making way through the crowd. His head was down, typing on his phone. Yours vibrated and you looked at it quickly, knowing it was from him.

I’ve landed, darling. I’ll see you in a few hours.

He still had no idea you were feet from him. It was so exhilarating, surprising him, anticipating how happy he was about to become, all because of you. You started towards him, moving faster the closer you got to him. Once you were about 3 feet away, he looked up from his phone. His eyes met yours, widening in disbelief with a jaw drop. He dropped his bags and wrapped you in a hug, lifting you off the ground and squeezing like it was the last time he would ever hold you, ensuring him that you weren't a figment of his imagination.

“Baby, what are you doing here?!” he said eagerly into your hair. Your heart jumped in your chest. It was the first time he had ever called you that, and you hoped to yourself that it wouldn’t be the last.

“I decided to surprise you,” you said, pulling back and looking into his eyes lovingly.

“Well, you definitely did. Thank you!” he answered, pulling you into another hug.

“The surprise isn’t over yet,” you said, flashing your eyebrows with a smile. He looked at you with flirtatious suspicion.

“What do you have up your sleeve, love?”

“Well, I know you enjoy the city, and you’ve never been to Pittsburgh before, so I thought we could have a date night here and head back home tomorrow.”

His eyes widened along with his smile.

“Darling, that’s so thoughtful. Thank you.” He pulled you in for a tender kiss. Every part of you that he was touching tingled. It felt like Heaven after a week of being separated, and you feared you were beginning to develop an addiction for this man. You pulled away and grabbed his hand.

“Now let’s go! I’m taking you to dinner. Hope you’re hungry!”

“Always.” He smiled at you, grabbing his bags with his free hand and running through the airport alongside you like a love-sick puppy.

Can I just shoutout those of us who have massive sneezing attacks when they walk outside on a bright day? I don’t know what it is about the bright light that just builds up the pressure in my nose but every time it happens I go craaaazy. And it sprays in the air and you can see the light hit the droplets as it settles and I get so embarrassed but another sneeze comes out before I can even apologize 😖

But I do indulge a bit when I’m alone. Just this morning I walked outside and the sun is freaking blinding me and there’s so much dust everywhere since we’re in a drought and I know the fit is coming but I don’t do anything about it. There’s no one around and I can enjoy it in the peace of my back garden, right? So I just let loose. The first one is so wet and loud it startled me. I can feel my sinuses clicking while recovering from it. Then the next one comes too quick and I bite my tongue on accident. By the fourth I have to breath through my mouth and I’m all red, not just from the irritation but also I’m blushing because I have to hold my legs together to take the edge off. If I could I’d just lay around sneezing and jerking off all day, it’s just so hot. And every additional sneeze just brings on more snot and I can feel my head getting stuffy. I didn’t even notice my nostrils dripping down my lips and even to my chin because I’m so caught up in it. I can only scrub my nose a few times with the back of my fist a few times before the wet, messy sounds of my nose get to me and I have to go back inside to… deal with my other problem.

What better way to show you care than with the beauty of art? Cohen simply had to show his greatest muse how much he adores them. They provide him with inspiration, he cares about them more than anyone else in this place.

With you in mind, Cohen put on an entire private exhibit for you. He made sure every piece of art sung the same tune. He wanted you to experience one big message when he shows you.

He wants it all to say that he loves you.

Cohen puts his heart and soul into his art. He made it strictly private so it could just be you and him. Such art is not meant for prying eyes!

It would ruin everything.

Cohen wrote the invitation himself. He even gave you a mask to go along with it. Everything was then wrapped in a box and sent to where you lived in Rapture. It was just time to wait now!

He made it all seem like you were just coming in to be his muse, inspiration. In reality you were coming in for much more than you expected. Much much more....

When you approach Cohen, wearing the mask he gave you with confusion, he grins.

"Right this way! Have a look, my rabbit."

Then Cohen pulls the curtain aside, blessing your eyes with...

Horrors.

Your jaw slacks open as you look around. The studio smelled of blood and rot. Plaster sculptures are portrayed in all sorts of sporadic poses. The paintings that depicts strange artistic depictions of hearts and intimacy smell of metal and quite possibly lead.

You back away, completely unaware of Cohen locking to doors behind you. When you turn to leave, Cohen looks at you eagerly. You are cut off from the door when he sees the fear and disgust on your face.

"Dear, why do you look at me so?"

You want to run, you need to run.

As Cohen walks away from the locked door in an attempt to hold you, you dart away. You shake your head and plead with him. He's always been a psychopath, you hate that you're scared of him enough to follow his invitations.

“Why are you running? I did this for you!” Cohen yells, stepping closer. "Is my work not enough for you!?"

You scramble away from him but he grabs your arm. You struggle but Cohen holds you still with a frown. Oh you're so dead....

"Let me go, Mr Cohen! You're hurting me!" You plead to him, stopping your pulling while tightens his grip.

“This hurts me more than it hurts you.” Cohen answers bitterly, glaring at you. "I make you a gift and you HATE it!"

"I-I don't hate it...!" You try to appeal to him but he shakes his head.

"Fine, fine... maybe it isn't enough for you. I just need to come up with something grander..." Cohen hums, eying the plaster sculptures in thought. He then looks back at you. You hate the look in his eyes. "Well... if you didn't like this gift. Then maybe you can provide me some inspiration to make something you'll like?"

You give a look of confusion before he pulls you along through the studio. You plead to him more when he stops in front of buckets of plaster. You give him a look of worry and he ignores it.

"Maybe you're right... I need a new way to express my love for you."

It's only then he turns to you with a wicked grin. Your heart stops when he picks up a bucket and turns to you.

"I just need you to help me."

YOU MET THE JOSEPH QUINN? WHAT WAS IT LIKE? I AM JEALOUS!

hahah yes, i actually met joseph three times. first one was saturday for a photo op. i was soo cheesed out in my pics bc he is absolutely beautiful irl and taller than what i imagined. the photo crew was trying to rush everyone but joseph made sure to hug us and say hi and bye after. i was freaking out.

next day on sunday i had an autograph signing and my sister surprised me with another photo op. i was panicking. immediately walking up to him at the signing, he smiles soo big at me and asked me how i was. i told him how incredibly talented he is, how much i adore him and everything he does. i told him even tho i absolutely love eddie, arthur is my favorite and that he was brilliant in dickensian, he said “bless your heart darling thank you” and drew me a heart. i was walking away and told him happy early bday and i’ll see him at the photo op and he wink/smirked at me and said “see you there love”.

at the last photo op was SOO RUSHED bc he was behind and need to make it to the panel but going up to him i asked if it’s okay if i hug him, he said “you sure can love” and he pulled me so tight into him and lowkey rested his head on top of mine and gripped my arm. i told him “thank you i love you” and he said “i love you darling see you”.

idk there was something about meeting him made me feel so calm. he makes eye contact, he smiles and shows how happy he is to meet you. he is such an absolute sweetheart and you can tell how much he appreciates you, he makes jokes with you, laughs with you. it’s so sweet that his mom was right there seeing how he changed all of our lives. joseph is such a down to earth person, so loving, so caring, so kind. i love him forever.

Sleepy Princess In The Demon Castle - I have all 20 volumes because it is just a cute lil fun lil read

So I'm A Spider, So What - Okay, does the mc grind like crazy to level up? Yes but it's also hilarious and a lovely lil isekai about how a high schooler is reborn as a weak bb spider and becomes super op and challenges gods and demon lords ... 10/10, have every volume out rn and love it

Heaven Official's Blessing (light novels) - BL, Danmei - Listen. I love these lil fucks and I love how these are written -> Currently on book 2/5 in my lil shelf, six comes out in Sept I think

Given - BL - It's an okay series. I read it all (that's out), and it is amusing while reading, but ultimately probably won't read again

After that, the next batch'll likely be: Bofuri, Arifureta, & Overlord (all isekai - or in Bofuri's case video game life). Which I can recommend watching in the anime forms as well.

But yeah those are pretty much all the series I like that I can name off the top of my hear rn. There are definitely quite a bunch I'm forgetting, but I cannot be bothered because this lil answer has already gone on for a long time and been interrupted 4+ times by my Boss' after hours inquiries into his own goddamn schedule I'm going to beat this man with a sandal

I want Austin to win so badly which isn't only bias, he gave EVERYTHING to honoring Elvis and he more than earned it. I really like Brendan but have you read Roxane Gay's op-ed on The Whale?

i knew there was controversy about that, but had not seen anything in-depth, reading her piece (and i have such respect for her) is...distressing. she makes it clear her issue is not with brendon (whom we adore!) nor the objective quality of his performance, but rather with the cruelty she felt in the film itself. here's the link but warning that she is honest and what she discusses could be triggering.

regarding our beloved aus, tbh this now makes me want to share this publicly because it gets to the beating heart of the whole thing: what austin achieved was the result of constant preparation, months and months of research, dedicating a couple of years of his life solely to understanding and embodying someone to his spiritual and cellular level. it's not some paper-thin impersonation - something el has been subjected repeatedly, being turned into a costume or a parody unfairly. he gave body, mind, and soul to the film. (this is also why the banal comments about his voice make me rage, because not only are they patently untrue - have any of those people listened to elvis speak? - but it reduces his craft down into a joke when it is anything but. and austin's sincerity and openness is beautiful.) austin approached him so wholly and so kindly, which was imperative to make it work. i just quote conversations with chelsea all the time, but i sent that to her and she put this so well: "the part of that video that really touched me was that the people who knew him didn't see austin, they saw their friend. and how he dove into WHY elvis had certain physical movements, so they come from an authentic feeling. it is such a blessing to have given that to them, to give elvis back to his family, and then to reintroduce him to the world in a way that they can be proud of. it really was a steeper hill to climb than most acting roles ever are just because of how high the expectations are. and then to meet and exceed them." if this were a fictional story, it would be hard to believe it, but it was elvis' life. austin's tremendous connection there, and speaking about using his fear as a compass and seeing through his eyes - it IS a radical experience, as that video says. it is an incredible gift to have taken this man who's been so misrepresented on one hand and so idolized on the other, and bring the essence of him back to life, return him to the world in a sense, and cause audiences to be changed by the feeling it gives them and the love they find there. i have screenshots saved of tweets and comments from people i don't even know talking about what it means to them, what e means to them, because it touches me so deeply. is that not the whole point of taking such a journey? to find something so humanistic and so transformative? to reveal some profound sense of connection and love? there's so much i want to write and say about the film and i've just kept a lot of it to myself or said it to close friends, but what i kept thinking about today is when the switch flips at the end, and we're suddenly with elvis, not merely his image, but the plea and voice and words and heart of him, saying i need your love, i'll be comin' home, wait for me, every dream i've ever had has come true a hundred times, i keep singing a song...and how everything that went before is this love letter to him, infused with the passion and purpose of who he was, and how breathlessly they pulled that off. this project couldn't have existed without austin, and nothing can convince me that somehow elvis' spirit wasn't guiding him to that, not only for him, but for everyone who has been affected by it and will carry that with them. he deserves every award and every bit of praise he's been given, but it also has more lasting meaning than that. no matter what happens, we are going to remember that, we are going to take it with us. and that's what makes a performance live on, and a story, and a person. out there in the dark, there's a beckoning candle. we're keepers of that light.
