You know i could've gotten over the fact that they basically changed everything about Alicent and Rhaenyra's characters (no i couldn't), but why does it look like the two sides of the war are Rhaenyra and Alicent? what has Alicent got to do with anything now? she played her part putting her son on the throne, now there's a war coming for Aegon, not Alicent. Yet in the new commercials it's always Emma D'arcy and Olivia Cooke and never Emma D'arcy and Tom Glynn Carney. The chess game commercial was with Emma and Olivia and as much as i like both of them i just think Alicent (for the way hotd writers portraited her in the series) has finished her job. She played the part of the innocent woman that didn't understand what she was doing, now there's a war coming and she's probably not going to be taking any of the next decisions that regard the upcoming battles, so except for praying and tying to stop either Aemond or Aegon i can't really think of a role she can play in s2. She surely won't take part in planning the war since the trailer made it seems like she doesn't want to be at war, so what's her so important and world-changing role that makes her (non-existent) interactions with Rhaenyra more important than the actual conflict going on between the greens and the blacks?

Alicent's dresses in the teaser
So it's actually here.
side note : this is merely speculation and not much of an analysis, I am just going based on what I understood of Alicent’s wardrobe in the first season and how that can translate to the new situations and challenges she has to face in season 2.
I recommend reading my previous “analysis” on season 1 to actually understand this one
Tumblr media
Okay so wow. She’s wearing blue again. So as pointed out in the s1 post, light blue represents her innocence while dark blue would represent her vulnerability.
She wears dark blue twice in s1 , once when she prays to the gods with Rhaenyra and it is announced that she is to marry Viserys (ep.2) and the second when she calls Criston to her chambers to confirm her suspicions, which eventually leave her heartbroken in front of a kingsguard (ep.4) It also symbolises her friendship with Rhaenyra being broken. Once due to Alicent’s marriage, the second due to Rhaenyra’s lies.
With that in mind though, I do think this is very similar to the shade of the ep.6 dress (though it is more blue than green and that is more green than blue.)
So keeping all of the above in mind, that dress is probably going to be worn when we first see her in ep.2/3 i.e. right after blood and cheese occurs. We see her for the first time after a heartbreaking instance has taken place (and similar to the ep.6 dress where the instance is the two women growing apart further and further).
But why is it more blue than green? Well, green represents her standing. Her family and everything she holds dear and true. And at that moment, her family has just been ripped apart by the murder of her eldest grandson. And if you look close enough, we see Larys’s cane at the side. So clearly, it’s more a vulnerable time for her. Not only because she has to expose herself to Larys but also because her family is fully just gone to shit.
Also dark blue is worn when her and Rhaenyra’s friendship breaks off? Yeah. I don’t think there is any chance for friendship anymore after what her men just did. So the the third time, she wears blue, it’s just cements that the war has begun from both ends and there is no going back.
Tumblr media
so we don’t have any full shots of this dress but the least we can make out is that it is green and white. Note that this is the first time we are seeing Alicent wear white in any regard. White is a general symbol of purity and/or mourning.
If green represents where she stands with her family and white represents purity, this is probably the first time we will see Alicent. Praying at the sept to rekindle memories of her mother. But if white is representing mourning, then this can be after Jaehaerys’s funeral (or around that time) or worse, just before b&c (as a form of foreshadowing)
Also note that the entire dress is not white but is just starting to become as such, starting from the neckline. Probably because this is just the beginning of all the mourning and torment for the greens.
Tumblr media
So this is most likely the funeral dress, as seen by the veil. The shade of this dress is almost exact to the ep.6 dress we talked about. Green because it’s her grandson’s funeral and even though her family has fallen apart, she still somehow manages to keep in her heart that all will be okay. Simply because that’s how she has been taught to work through all of life’s circumstances, no matter how severe. And blue (only the slightest hint of it though) because of her vulnerability when she finds herself amongst a (presumable) mob during her mourning before she is quickly rescued by the kingsguard.
Tumblr media
So I have seen a couple of posts that have been saying that this probably isn’t Alicent or that it is a dream sequence of sorts but for the sake of the post, let’s assume that it is her and this isn’t a sequence.
She’s wearing full white. No details, no embroidery, no jewellery, just white. The safest bet is that this is directly after Helaena’s death. Because it started with her grandson (the second shot) and now it’s her own daughter. Her sweetest, dearest daughter just killed herself to be rid of the grief. Also notice that in this shot, in particular, there is barely any green except the grass. Everything is pale and dull because the entire, and I mean entire, family was ruined when Helaena, who is the heart of the greens, committed suicide. The only scraps of green that we see in through the grass are most likely Aemond, Jaehaera and Aegon. But even they aren’t doing well (as seen because the grass is drying up).
Moving on. Alicent is alone in the short grieving of her daughter because sadly, the matters of war are piling up and are too high a risk to be left alone. Even if this was a dream sequence, I think it could make somewhat sense. it could tie into how badly Alicent would want to run away somewhere desolate and just grieve her daughter but being unable to do so because at the end of it, she’s still Dowager queen and that is just a dream.

Does that mean Nika kills Arlong? Or just damages him enough to put him in his place?
Divinity shines through Luffy’s skin. It turns his body gold, casting long shadows on the floor. Arlong’s face goes still with shock, and then, slowly, with fear. It’s almost gratifying to see that, even after all this time, people still recognize the face of God.
When Joyboy next speaks it is not through the mouth he has borrowed from Luffy, but from his own throat, echoing and trembling through the broken room they’re in.
“You are ashes now, but there was fire in you once. You chose to let that fire turn to despair, and in your despair you lashed out. You have caused grave harm to the undeserving, Arlong. But this is not all you are. It is not all you can be. You know you are more than this.”
Arlong trembles in every limb. He drags himself backwards, away from Joyboy on his shaking arms. “You’re not him,” he says, and he is begging. “You’re not him!”
“I am.”
“No! Fuck you, you’re not him!”
“Look at me, Arlong. Look at the face of your God.”
“No!”
“It's not too late to fix this. You can be forgiven.”
“I can’t forgive you!” The words are a scream that might have been a sob if Arlong were clinging less tightly to his rage. “How — how dare you. You’re not him! Fuck you, where were you? Where have you been? Where the fuck have you been?! Do you know what they’ve been doing to us?!”
Guilt, that old, worn coat, settles heavy on Joyboy’s shoulders. He says “I’m here now,” because that will have to be enough. “The dawn will rise, and you should be there to see it.” Arlong has backed himself against the wall by now, slumped with nowhere else to go. Joyboy has followed him, and now stands at Arlong’s feet. He lowers himself to one knee, and reaches out his hand. Says “You know you can build something better than this. It’s why you’re so damn frustrated, you know what you’re capable of. You turned that frustration on the wrong target but it’s not too late to change your aim.”
Slowly, Arlong drags his gaze away from Joyboy’s (Luffy’s) face to instead glare at his outstretched hand. He stares like he’s never seen fingers before. “You want me to repent?”
Joyboy says “Take my hand.”
“You — you — do you expect me to kneel? Should I pray to you?”
“No. Just take my hand.”
“I won’t!”
“Do not let your pride keep you from the one thing you truly want. Take my hand.”
“Stop it!”
“Take my hand!”
“Never!” Arlong, weakened and beaten as he is, lunges with his teeth bared.
Joyboy swallows disappointment, and accepts his answer.
—————
“Why did you ask him?” Luffy mutters petulantly. “You knew he was gonna say no.” He nudges Arlong’s corpse with his foot and ignores the sharp disapproval Joyboy sends him, because of course he does. Brat.
Joyboy thinks of justice, and rage, and wasted potential. “Sometimes,” he says, “It is the asking that matters, more than the answer.”
Luffy scowls darkly and kicks the corpse again. Kick, kick, kick. Joyboy longs for his own limbs, if only to scruff the misbehaving pup. (His sons—) “He hurt Nami. She was crying. I wouldn't forgive him even if he said he was sorry.”
Luffy’s anger is not yet the wrath of a God, but the seeds of it are there. Someday soon those seeds will grow into a rage that bleaches the sky and calls forth a red and bloody dawn. For now he is a child, disrespecting an enemy’s corpse. (Joyboy longs for his own limbs, if only to embrace the boy.)
“The forgiveness doesn’t really matter either, in the end.”
Kick, kick. Luffy glares sullenly at Arlong's body as though there are answers to be found in his ruined flesh. "That's stupid," he says.
"Yes," Joyboy agrees, softly. "It is."

In which Alice and Jasper are getting tired of apologizing all the time. An excerpt from this 1965 one-shot. (Jasper POV)
I tried to make it through. Alice would be at lunch and in my classes the rest of the day after this. I really tried to ignore the deepening thirst for a few minutes: the acidic pain spreading down my throat and into my belly, the tightening of my limbs in preparation for the attack, the curling of my fingers into claws around the edges of my chair. I looked slowly through the room, sampling the scents. By the time I realized what I was doing, I had already picked out my target.
The pain of thirst was one thing, but I was getting dangerously close to doing something about it. Again. I slid to my feet, careful to keep each muscle under lockdown so my instincts wouldn’t take over.
“I need to go to the nurse,” I informed the teacher.
“Again?” he said, frowning. I slammed the door on my way out.
Again? Esme’s emotions said when she picked me up from the nurse’s office. But she smiled and told the nurse I’d had a bad cold over the weekend and she was sure I just needed to rest.
“Jasper seems to get sick a lot,” the nurse said on our way out. “Maybe you should get him checked out by a specialist.”
“I’m sure you’re right,” Esme called over her shoulder. “Another bad day?” she asked me, handing me the car keys.
“Nobody’s dead.”
“Good enough,” she said with a little laugh.
No it isn’t, I thought as we got into the car, but I didn’t feel up to another round of her pity so I kept it to myself. Esme was more annoyed than she liked to let on with my lack of progress right now, and that was much easier to bear.
I began to pull out of the school parking lot, but then I slammed on the brakes when I saw Alice in the rearview mirror. She gave me a taunting grin and zipped out of the mirror’s viewpoint, running toward the reservoir half a mile away. My day was looking up; it wasn’t often she left school along with me. One mysteriously ill teenager was enough to keep us under the radar. Two would be pushing it.
“Change of plans,” I told Esme. She took the keys and sent me on my way with a concerned smile.
Alice was in a playful mood today, or at least she was determined to try. Her scent and her footprints led straight into the water and disappeared there. She’d hidden herself deep inside the pine-and-oak trails surrounding the reservoir. I could smell the other half of her trail somewhere along the sandy bank that stretched around in a quarter-mile circle, but I wasn’t sure which way to go around.
“I wonder where she could be?” I called out. A stifled giggle sounded over on the northwest bank. I took off at top speed, counterclockwise along that side. My prey never stood a chance.
“You’re not very good at this,” I teased once I caught her in my arms. I planted a kiss on her spiky hair, sighing in relief as her scent enveloped me. The thirst was receding already. “Don’t tell me you’re sick, too?”
Alice jumped straight up and planted a kiss on the top of my hair, too, and fell back down into my arms. She did a reasonably good imitation of a human cough.
“It hit pretty fast,” she said thoughtfully. “It must be that cold you had over the weekend. The nurse let me go since she could still see Esme’s car in the parking lot.”
“You’ll feel better soon,” I whispered in her ear.
We shared another kiss, one that lasted, and then we drew back and stared, considering each other. Another kiss had us sinking down together onto a bed of pine needles, ready to forget that school even existed. Alice’s hand found its way to the buckle of my belt, but just then her eyes glazed over. It didn’t feel like a good vision.
"We have to go,” she said when she came out of it. “In fact, I think we’d better go hunt now.” She stared at nothing for another second. “Right now. Come on, get up.”
I hauled myself to my feet with a sigh and we began to run. It was a close one, judging by how Alice pushed herself to her top speed a moment later. I wanted to turn around so I could run back and purposely kill whoever it was that had ruined the only perfect moment we’d had all week.
“This is far enough,” Alice said when we finally slowed to a stop. “But you still need to feed right now.” She pointed to the crest of a nearby hill and I trudged on up to follow the rancid scent of an elderly deer.
Its blood was ghastly. Possibly the worst I’d ever had.
“Sorry about the deer,” Alice said when I found her again. She was sitting against a tree stump with her arms around her knees, so I joined her. “I couldn’t find anything better in time.” She reached up and ran her fingers through my hair for a moment. “Jazz, I’m so s—“
“Don’t say it again. Just… please, stop saying it all the time.”
“I’ll stop if you stop."
We tried again to make love, but it was no good. My mood was too sour, and before long I had soured hers as well. And that was saying something, considering how low she’d felt this week. Her guilt and my thirst had been making each other spiral downward for days now. I finally let her go and rolled over onto my back to stare up into the sun.
Maybe I should go off alone for a while. Just a day or two, to give both of us a break. Alice waited silently; she was willing to let me go. Instead, I wriggled closer until my head was in her lap. A little burst of joyful relief flickered deep inside her, and that was good enough.
I closed my eyes. She began to slowly comb her way through my hair, humming one of the nonsense songs she used to hum back in the good old days when we had just met. The withdrawal had been so bad that I’d lain like this for days at a time, holding onto her love for dear life as tremor after tremor shivered through me and all I could think about was human blood.
It was nowhere near as bad now, but this was still a comfort for both of us sometimes. We both slowly relaxed as she hummed and combed her way through the afternoon.
