my own alastor headcanons…

warnings: discussion and mention of abuse, hell, killing, racism

note: i am also getting through my asks. i promise. ☺️

second note: these are just my own head canons. things i’ve noticed, how i write alastor, what plays into why i write al the way i do… etc. purely my own opinion.

- you know the whole thing hurt people, hurt people… at the core that’s who alastor is.

- he was a mommas boy and loved his mom so much

- his father was abusive, physically, mentally and emotionally

- his father would hit his mother and alastor

- many people turned a blind eye, this taught alastor to never trust anyone and that it’s just you for yourself at a very young age

- finally, alastor was tired of seeing his mother upset and hurt so while his father was asleep he killed him. alastor was 13-15 at the time.

- i believe that alastor’s mom is in heaven

- i also believe that she helped alastor hide the body of his father. in the same bayou that alastor used when he buried his victims

- his mom never knew there was anyone else alastor killed after his father.

- after killing his dad, he started down a slippery slope. he liked the power he felt when he had control over someone’s life or death. it was all in his hands

- but alastor has been said to have a unique moral code

- so i think he would kill any adult, but it was those that were distasteful

- the fathers who were abusive, the men who preyed upon women, the women who tore families apart just because, the mothers who were abusive

- he’s the equal opportunity killer and if you’re a shitty person you were on his radar.

- he got into voodoo to help his mom

- his mom got sick, nothing could cure her, he felt helpless, weak, so he turned to something that could help when praying didn’t. voodoo didn’t help either, but it was already too late… you know what they say about power corrupting you and when you make a deal… they stick

- ladies man, little fucking flirt, charming, suave, disarming. you’d want to take him to meet your momma

- he never married in his human life, chalked up to never finding the right girl.

- no one met his momma when he was alive. like girls just weren’t brought, people just weren’t brought to meet his momma. if you met her through alastor, you were very very special to him

- never happened though!

- he had the most gorgeous southern accent when he was a young man before getting into radio.

- he was told to loose it after the first broadcast. so he adopted the transatlantic accent we hear, to be more palatable to white listeners in the south. i mean, he was given an opportunity of a life time “especially for someone like him.”

- he went to church every sunday with his mom until she died. he’s very very knowledgeable about the bible

- just intelligent over all. likes reading, very meticulous, detail oriented, sharp and quick witted.

- he is deep deep deep down insecure. buried under years of acting like he’s the shit; pretending he’s amazing and the self assured confidence needed to be the radio host he was. this only became buried deeper when he went to hell.

- having someone who is supposed to protect you tear you down when you’re a kid does shit to you. (his dad)

So if you think that vox likes alastor but alastor dosn't like him back how do you think vox would react to alastor flirting with him?

Vox would probably be flabbergasted for a second, but then immediately try to regain his composure. Try to be smooth about it even though he's panicking on the inside, wondering why Alastor is doing this. Most likely he'd assume it's Alastor trying to mess with him(which he probably is) but he would still sweat a little under his collar. Alastor has easily played and provoked Vox to the point of causing a black out, so I think if Alastor flirted with Vox hard enough he'd lose it abs cause a couple blackouts around him. I don't think Alastor would go TOO flirty with it, at least physically. Leaving Vox once again irritated and obsessed. ....And unsatisfied 🤭 lol

Winged characters in Hazbin Hotel have so much potential.

Charlie and Vaggie are getting ✨spicy✨ and Charlie tries to lean against Veggies back to touch her or whatever and all of a sudden-

WOOSH

She just flings Charlie across the room by accident because she was excited and she's forgotten that she has to control how they move.

Or Husk accidently knocking over all the bottles on the shelf behind the bar because he just kind of forgets how big they are.

Or Zestial using his wings to wrap Carmilla and the girls in to protect them from the acid rain. The four of them are out and it starts raining a little bit and the three girls just end up under his wings. Like it's no big deal, they're just there now.

Alastor is bothering Lucifer, just being his general annoying self when Lucifer brings out all six of his wings, jumps up and throws a burst of air at Alastor, knocking him off his feet.

Valentino using his wings to protect Velvette from the wind when they go out so her hair doesn't get messed up.

Or covering Vox when it's windy so his screen doesn't get dusty.

Husk learning the beauty of having his wings preened and properly taken care of by Lucifer and Vaggie, who spent their lives around other winged people who know how to care for them.

Nifty making feather dusters out of Husk, Vaggie, and Lucifer feathers when they're molting. She makes brooms too. And feather clothes for her roaches to wear during her puppet shows.

Velvette making wing attire and modeling them on Val.

Zestial using his wings as a fan to cool himself off when it's hot.

Bee using her wings to dry off Tex when he gets out of the pool.

Verosika being the big spoon when she and Blitz were dating because she'd shift her wings in her sleep and they would scratch his chest.

Fat Nuggets using Husks wings as a blanket. Angel has tons of pictures of that, he loves them.

Adam and Lute wrapping their wings around each other.

Emily clinging to Sera's wings so her big sister will carry her places.

Lucifer letting Baby Charlie climb his wings.

Lucifer using his wings to hold Baby Charlie and Lilith close to him while they're sleeping.

Alastor when falling in love/dating headcanons

A/N; my first time trying headcanons lol, hope I did well!

Falling in love

Let’s be honest, Alastor rarely actually likes most beings as a friend, let alone as a romantic partner

But when he does for either scenario, he has to notice that person as more than just some pawn for entertainment

Maybe you’re more socially intelligent, maybe you have more power, maybe you’re closer to Charlie, maybe all of those

But there has to be something that makes him see you as a threat to his power, or his control

Because of this when you first enter the hotel, he’s going to try to upstage you

If he can find a flaw about you, he’ll utilize that to the max

Think how he acted around Lucifer in ‘Dad beat Dad’

But when he notices you’re not going to be intimidated by him he starts to grow angry

If you really wanna ruffle his feathers just ask “uhm…who are you..?”

Not even in a polite way, just in a rude judgmental way

Oh, that makes his blood boil

When he’s not around you, at first he’s trying to get rid of you, take away the threat

But then you leave for a long period of time without notice to anyone but husk

And not even sober husk

So basically nobody really knows where the hell you went (pun intended)

The first maybe hour or two Alastor was like “good riddance”

But then for some damn reason he started to miss you

If you’re gone for more than one day, his mood actually visibly changes

Sure he’s still smiling, but he’s still a bit less motivated to do things

And he’s probably having troubles with coming up with ideas for his radio broadcast

Then you come back and he’s back to normal

It’s like his subconscious went “oh, cool :D”

But now that brings up another obstacle for him

As established before he wants any threats out of his way, but he somehow has grown attached to you?

This wasn’t what he wanted, no not at all

Now what was he supposed to do?

Even worse is the realization that he still has humanity

Humanity is weakness

And if some like say… Vox found out about this?

He’d be royally fucked

It takes a looong while for him to figure out that A. It was love, and B. Come to terms with that

Lots of avoidance and back handed comments

If you sat at the bar? He’d leave

If you tried to compliment him, you’d only get a short “Hm.”

If you invited him to talk with you, even just to get to know him he’d make an excuse

And if Charlie attempts to force him he will refuse/ escape in some way

Blowing up and asking him what his problem is won’t help either

He’ll sit there with a patient smile with petty thoughts, and justifications for his actions running through his head as he tried to appear unfazed

Until someone interrupts/ ends the conversation or you just give up and leave

He’ll leave while rolling his eyes slightly, muttering about how sensitive people are these days

Once he does finally come to terms with it, he’s less hostile around you

Don’t get me wrong he still avoids you like the plague because you’re his only weakness

But he’s kinder to you when he does interact with you

Maybe he’ll offer to pay for your drink before leaving

He might even leave a little box of homemade chocolates at your door, or give you some ‘leftover’ Jambalaya he made specifically for you to try

Little favors like that

Dating

It’s never really said aloud that the two of you are dating

It just was sort of agreed upon silently between the two of you

One day he invited you via letter to come skygaze with him at his radio tower

At first you’re kind of suspicious that he has an ulterior motive

But when you get there and you’re invited to sit beside Alastor, you realize he just wanted to see you. Why? You didn’t know, but at least his intentions weren’t ill

Then he crossed his pinky with yours

Nothing grand like kissing, he’s not too fond of physical affection

But just a small bit of contact

If you choose to interlock your pinky with his, internally he’ll lose his mind

It’s like confirmation that you feel the same way without verbally saying it

Since then everyone just sort of knew at the very least he cared a bit more about you

He’d frequently talk with you

Like how most people would interact with good friends

Except he gets a little more protective of you

There’ll be a shadow that follows you everywhere

Sometimes the shadow will tease a bit

Maybe pick up a piece of hair and then put back in place quick, or maybe brush against your arm, nothing harmful, really

Since he doesn’t really show his love through physical affection, he shows it through gifts or acts of service

Mainly acts of service

You’ll often go back to your room after a hard day to find your bed made and your pillows fluffed with a new stuffed animal on your bed

His favorite way to show his affection physically is by your hand

He won’t really hold your hand outright, but he’ll usually gently kiss it after saying something romantic

Maybe if your sitting at the bar, talking with Husk he will

When he’s feeling especially happy, or romantic, or he somehow got wasted, he’ll give you a peck on the lips, but that’s about the only time you two really kiss

He will cuddle if you ask to but otherwise he doesn’t really do cuddling

The first time you tell him you love him, even just as a quick goodbye, he’ll melt on the inside

If you look close enough you can see his eyes soften a tad bit

He’ll probably say “you too” if the both of you are in public, or something along those lines, but if you’re in private, maybe cuddling or as he’s comforting you for some reason

He’ll say it softly, and then most likely give you a small head pat, or if he’s getting really sentimental, he’ll give you a peck on the forehead

All in all, he does love you, he just sort of shows it in his own way that he’s comfortable with <3

Consider Alastor stripping in front of Vox and when Vox is like "holy shit ur comfortable enough around me to be naked??" and Alastor laughs at him and says "Do you think I get embarrassed when taking my clothes off in front of my couch or dresser? Why would I be embarrassed because I'm naked in front of a TV?"

Im the biggest (one sided) staticradio bitch ever but someone raised the crack theory of Alastor and Vox being actually siblings when they were alive and IM THRIVING sibling dynamics own my entire soul (hehe get it bc /gets shot) ok HEAR ME OUT:

Alastors dad was confirmed to be Caucasian and If I remember correctly there was something kinda confirmed about Vox being white as fuck or something, right??? Okay. Half siblings. Same father, different mothers. Alastor being the product of an affair his father had years before he and his actual wife had Vox, making Alastor his older brother. (I'm thinking an around 10 years age gap ??? maybe ????) Their dad, on Alastors side, appears once every 4-6 months at BEST, mostly to give him and his mother some money solely for the sake of making himself look better and compensate at least a little on his egos behalf for not giving a single fuck. So Alastor doesn't know shit about his father's life even less his whole "other family" thing, neither does he care at all.

The thing is: Vox knows. Imagine a lil 7-8 yo Vox getting curious about where and why his dad does that one trip every 4-6 months, then at some point somehow discovering the "other woman and her son" deal, aka his older sibling. His father never ever mentions anything about it and god forbids trying to ask him, so when he's a little older (around 15 ??) he starts researching, finally finding out about his radio program. Imagine him listening to it out of curiosity ???? Actually liking it and becoming an active listener ????? Maybe getting the inspiration of the informative concept from him and then later wanting to take it to the tv when it got released ???????

Also imagine him later entering hell and HEARING HIS VOICE AGAIN and RECOGNIZING HIM ,

Anyways impossibile purely self indulgent crack theory/concept presented 👍👍👍👍 I'm kinda insane here thanks for putting these thoughts in my head

I love RadioStatic /Onewaybroadcast , because in my head it was a miserable and betrayal filled break off of a mutually beneficial media monopoly of two close friends (as close as Alastor could get to being friends with a man) all because of the greed of one side. Their current mutual hatred being fueled by one sided betrayal and a wounded ego on the other.

But also Vox crying over the one who got away. The whole friendship being destroyed because Vox has zero rizz and Alastor being confused by the energy created.

Thinking about praising Alastor...

Not that it'd be in a sexual manner (aroace representation yay), but for the mutual smugness of it

Pointing out how dashing he looks, complimenting his voice or strength or how intimidating he looked dealing with enemies attacking the hotel or one of the staff

You'd say it nonchalantly, almost dismissively, but it wouldn't escape the overlord's attention that you'd be watching his reaction from the corner of your eyes, a playful, and yet genuine, smile discreetly on your lips

You knew he knew you were waiting for his reaction and you'd revel in the surge of pride at seeing his everpresent grin turn somehow more smug than it already was.

Alastor would usually be suspicious of compliments so freely handed out, wracking his mind for any possible ulterior motive you could have, but he soon enough realised you liked subtly stroking his ego, for some reason

So he continued to indulge you, letting his pleased expression show just enough for your observing self to see, while the others would stay oblivious to this habit forming between the two of you.

Upping his game after some time, he'd throw you smooth and almost sultry "thank you, dear"s, enjoying how much it affected you and how little you were able to hide your heated cheeks.

He'd also stick to your side more than before, hanging around you for the simple pleasure of a small dopamine rush from your praise.

You'd have to learn to accept that sometimes, when you were getting ready to run some errands, Alastor would join you at the main entrance to the hotel, not stating his intentions or reasons, only quipping up from time to time with small talk like "Quite a lovely weather we're having today!"

In a twisted sort of sense he hopes someone will approach you two with ill intentions. Not because he wished you harm, no. Quite the contrary, with him by your side, he could make a show of protecting you - just for you of course.

And the only thing he'd expect in return was a thank you and a little comment about how well he'd done or how terrifying he looked.

Alastor does not have a desire to be needed, but he likes his ego stroked and loves to show off when he can, subtly, or not so much, reminding everyone that even with his multiple year absence, he's still the dangerous and mysterious Radio demon.

And you, having a nonsensical andcompletely illogical soft spot for the charming, yet cruel radio host, went along with these frivolous endeavours of his.

But you'd be careful not to overdo it, because you needed to keep in mind that Alastor is great at manipulation, and you weren't looking to give up your soul to anyone anytime soon.

At the same time, your compliments were never the same for long, after all, there were many nice things you could point out on the gentleman in red, as surprising as it may sound.

Alastor, of course, knew of all this, your careful nature and cheeky bravery. He respected it. And because of this intriguing, and very entertaining, personality of yours, he realised too late that you had somehow made a little place for yourself in the heart he swore he neer had.
