putting the travellers in yellowjackets would not result in a 1:1 translation for obvious reasons but the most likely timeline i have ascertained is
- chris is bifurcated horribly in the crash like he is in the simurgh attack
- they do the ritual; noelle is the one to get possessed; she doesn’t experience psychosis (like lottie does) but the combination of withdrawal from her medication and pre-existing problems with dissociation do trigger a similar paranoia about the cabin
- krouse and cody have the blowup argument; cody sleeps outside, consequently dies in the snow
- they eat cody
- mars fulfils a similar role to akilah; also latches onto the dead mouse (or a mouse-adjacent animal) as a way of coping
- they do not have an “antler queen” but they do fall back on the guidance of noelle, who grows increasingly uncertain about her own judgement (not only due to the withdrawals, but because of a similar detachment from reality she notes in her interlude)
- krouse doesn’t become noelle’s “acolyte”, per say, but does follow her blindly, less out of a genuine belief in what she is actually saying but out of a steadfast belief that she is the most worthwhile person around, and that everything she says is true because she is noelle (after while this curdles into just loyalty on it own, with belief discarded entirely)
- jess starts out skeptical of the wilderness, out of both genuine discernment and fear; as the months go by, she does develop a belief, but has the most complicated relationship with it
- oliver is the closest they get to a proper acolyte; he believes every single thing that noelle says wholeheartedly
- noelle either falls very ill or suffers a very bad injury, à la lottie, and begs them to eat her if she dies, also à la lottie; krouse refuses and secretly decides to kill oliver if they can’t find any food
- which is the final straw for luke, who burns down the cabin
