Since I've started putting myself "out there" creatively more, I've been keeping a document of nice things people say to me–a reminder that it's worth it and also that those kind people are louder than my inner critic–and it's been so helpful to that end. Highly suggest doing this if you're in a similar position of trying to get over the "mediocrity hump" in artmaking which necessarily requires you to be more public and potentially fail in public too!
